Starts now on News Radio, Wham, 1180. Thanks, sir. I appreciate that. Good morning, my friend. And thank you so much for tuning in. As I peer out the window here, it is, I say, optimistically, a flat-out beautiful day for a radio program. Sometimes in conversation it will come up. My thought is that most of the problems society faces, maybe all of them, are fundamentally spiritual in nature. And sometimes, you know, we live in a world of psychology and sociology and government programs where we're going to fix the problems of the world by coming up with a check we write somebody or some kind of special class we give them or whatever else like that. We're going to change the environment and hope to get different outcomes for people. There are other philosophies. One, I think, a little more spiritually based is... Let's change the people, and then they will change their environment. And at any rate, evangelizing is when you invite people to faith, specifically when you invite people to faith in Christ. And there are different ways to do that. And a local congregation this week is kind of going to its roots, going back in time a little bit, to invite people to Christ in sort of an old-fashioned way. Learn more about that. We're going to be joined by a local pastor, Hector Sotomayor. Sir, good morning and welcome to the broadcast. Good morning, Bob. Thank you for having me. I really appreciate your opportunity. I appreciate your time. What are you guys doing? Like you said, you know, we're going back a little old school, but, you know, sometimes you don't have to reinvent the wheel, just replicate the things that work. And I'm a firm believer that the ailments of society can be fixed by Jesus Christ. You know, he did come to seek and to save, to restore. And we're having a tent revival meeting over at 53 Lewis Street, right next to the Lewis Street, YMCA.

3:00

It's going to be a collaboration of four local churches, Lighthouse Baptist Church, Calvary Bible Baptist Church. Bible Baptist Temple and Trinity Bible Baptist Church. We want to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone that's willing to hear because he is the solution to all of society's problems. He's the solution to every individual problem. He died in a cross so that we could have life and the keys to having a successful life lie in the Word of God. When is this and what will entail? If people go there, what will they see, please? So the tent is already set up. It's going to be, like I said, a 53 Louis Street, which is a little area right next to the Lewis Street, YMCA, and it goes from today, August 17, all the way through Thursday, August 20th, and it's from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. We're going to have two things going on at the same time. We'll have a preaching. in teaching of the Word of God in the main tent. And then the YMCA has graciously allowed us to have games for children inside of their facility. So we're going to have a vacation Bible school and preaching going on at the same time. Outstanding. Here's the deal. You know, you think YMCA... It does stand for Young Men's Christian Association, and some different chapters of the YMCA still, I think, hold to that. Amen to that. First of all, allow me to say thank you to Joe Carter and the Lewis Street, YMCA. They have been incredible towards us. They've been very, made themselves incredibly available to early on our needs. They've been promoting the event because they want a transformation in the lives of all those kids in that area. If you're looking to join a YMCA at no cost to you, it's free. That'll be a great YMCA to join. They are actually trying to change lives daily by engaging an area that, sadly, some people don't even go through. So my hats off to them. I am excited about it. Like I said, I'm a friend believer that Jesus Christ is the solution to every, every single issue in society and an individual's life. You know, the Bible over in Second Chronicles, there came a time where Israel turned their back on God. And I love the fact that God to the prophet states, if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face.

5:45

enter from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin. And this is the part I love, will heal their land. I think that our nation, our city, our communities, desperately need this healing. And this is why we're engaging in this campaign so that people can hear of the name of Jesus Christ. the things that he did and what he can do in every individual's life. 53 Lewis streets in the city, people from outside the city are invited to this still, right? Absolutely. This is open to any and everybody. Listen, if you go to a church and you have nothing to do, come on over. Help us minister to our city, to this specific area, because the reality of it is, that's what we're called to. We're called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the fact that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, but how can they hear if there's no preacher? How can they hear if there's not individuals? sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, this great gospel that literally was part of the foundation of this great country of ours. Yeah. Hector Sotomayor. Here's the deal. You know, this has happened in Rochester before. Almost 200 years ago, but this fellow Charles Finney, a traveling evangelist, was brought to Rochester. to help mend its wayward ways. And he spent most of the summer preaching and did evangelize this town and did fundamentally change its culture and its direction for years to follow. Amen, brother. And here's the thing, right? It can happen again. The only difference between Charles Finney and the men of today that Finney literally walked, talked, talked, and walked, right? Not just talked. He actually walked. He put into practice what he believed, and that's what we're doing. We believe in the transformative power of Jesus Christ, and we're going to tell everyone and anybody that's willing to hear what Christ can do for them. Outstanding. Outstanding. If you had a chance to invite Chief Smith of the police department yet? You know, the invitation is out there to everyone. I would love it if the chief came by. I would love it if the mayor, and I know they're very busy individuals with everything that's going on. But if you're a politician and you really mean that you want to see a transforming of our city, I'll invite you to come over. Listen to what God can do in people's lives. Because the reality of it is that...

8:27

The societal problems that have been tried to be addressed through the psychology aspect, through the educational aspect, have failed us. So how about we go to changing the heart of the individual? And the only one that can do that is God Almighty. 100%. Great Hector Sotomayor. It's tonight through Thursday night, 630 to 730, big tent next to the YMCA at 53 Lewis Street. Is that right? Bob, yes, sure. If you're able to, I know you're a busy man, but brother, we'll love to see you as well. I think I can get out Thursday night. to come see you praise the Lord brother looking forward to it god bless everybody and please if you're able to attend attend let's encourage his area and there's going to be kids man listen that's one of the things that i love to it's the ability to reach out kids if we can reach them when they're little we'll never have to deal with them uh later in a negative way 100% thank you so much sir i appreciate it here's a deal too not to go you know bible thumper or sound uh uh uh you know goofy or anything But if you believe in prayer, I know it's not silly, but do you pray in your list of things you pray for? I hope you pray for the leaders of our country. I hope you pray for peace around the world. These wars, I hope you pray for them to end. And as you know, when you watch maybe stories on the news about violence in the city or poverty in the city or, you know, who's got what challenges, you can pray for the city and I hope you do. And I hope you pray for this little tent revival that it'll touch whatever hearts need or can be touched. Take a break. Back with you a moment on News Radio Wham 1180. What goes up? Gasoline prices, everything that we can to bring it back down. Too high. Short-term pain. Long-term gain. Keep up with what's going down. Use radio. Wham 1180. Hey, Clark Peschkin is a fine east side law firm, and one of their areas of special practice is estate planning. You know that. You know about their once a month. They got these workshops. where they teach you what estate planning is. You sit there for an hour and a half and you walk out saying, my gosh, I'm so glad I learned that. And hopefully you'll walk out motivated to do something about it. These aren't a sales pitch. They're about learning. This is a sales pitch. I think you ought to call Clark Peschkin and you ought to say, square me away now. Now, what might that entail? It could be just routine paperwork, Will, and such like that. But there are oftentimes when the creation of a trust can be, and trust is a legal instrument, right? It's an agreement written by a lawyer. You sign up, you sign it all and such like that. And it can oversee matters when you pass away.

11:15

There is also paperwork you can do that can clarify, say, some health care issues or who makes decisions should you become incapacitated. In the fourth quarter of life, you need to do things a little bit different. You need to be prepared. A last service to your loved ones will to make sure that your estate planning is done right. Call, make that appointment. It's 585-5-4-6-1734. 5461734 website, Clarkpeshkin.com. I'm not great with words after... And commenced, North Korea fired two ballistic missiles in the general direction of Japan. They seemingly fell to the sea before they entered Japanese territorial air or water. This was done in violation of international law and treaty. It was an act of provocation by North Korea. About 36 hours later, President Trump on Truth Social sort of criticized our ally, South Korea, and said that our some 70 years of paired military training exercise with South Korea have been an unjust and unfair provocation against North Korea. which is exactly what North Korea says. And President Trump said that he was ordering Pete Hegseth to dramatically scale back these war games, which were to commence this morning. How you do that, I'm not exactly sure. Why you would do that is absolutely, there's no answer. North Korea... are friggin bastards, right? A rocket man, a nut job with the haircut. Trump defending him saying, oh, and I've been president, we've had great relations with them. Don, my ass, he just fired ballistic missiles at Japan, our best ally in the Pacific, and you are now kicking in the crotch, South Korea, our second best ally in the Pacific. This coming like three or four days after the Wall Street Journal did a story in which they said that Asian nations... were much troubled by the fact that we have abandoned Gulf state nations to Iran, and all of a sudden Asian nations, our allies, are very concerned that we won't help them if problems arise with China, and they were having to rethink their security positions. And so in the wake of that, we have decided to turn and spurn South Korea. It is incomprehensible. I would also like to point out North Korea last week we learned that it was sending 30,000 additional troops to Russia. Now, North Korea had previously sent an estimated 15,000 troops to Russia, many of whom have ended up being killed in that war with Ukraine.

14:15

So North Korea is giving 30,000 troops to Russia. Russia, by the way, has given targeting information to Iran, which has allowed it to decimate our naval stations in the Middle East and to directly kill American soldiers, right? So, Russia bad, Iran bad, Korea in bed with Russia and Iran, and we just gave South Korea, one of our best allies in the world, the middle finger, so that we could kiss the ass in North Korea. I'll be honest with you. Fourth dimensional chess in this case looks a little bit like 25th Amendment madness. Just asking me, it is incomprehensible what he's thinking right now. It's time for news. We'll get there from Dave Debo on News Radio Wham 1180.

15:07

And once a year around my birthday, I like to run a lap of the village. It's about 10 miles. And I'm a month late for the run, but I got it done. It was a beautiful day. Lots of sun, some beautiful clouds intermingled. The greens of the fields of alfalfa and the forested valley walls were just spectacular. And, you know, I'll put on some music from the 1970s. And an old fat man, I will jog down the street. And I will see sights and think thoughts and mostly thoughts of an early or distant and largely extinct day. I'm a sentimental person. My mind does not process the passage of time. I don't know how other people's minds work. Maybe this is how we're all wired. But it is hard for me to go to a place that seems like I know every square inch of it. And yet, be a stranger there and have, you know, time passes, life changes, people pass. But I had a wonderful time. It was tremendous down there. And yesterday, there was a Bruce Blakeman, Back the Blue, rally out in Orleans County. I had the opportunity to go out and see that. And Joe Hernandez was there, the coptroller candidate, Virginia McIntyre running against Joe Morelli. She fired him up pretty good, gave a heck of a speech. But nice folks, good time, a strong spirit. And also just a point I would make there, a lot of folks running Republicans for Assembly against incumbent entrenched, big money Democrats in Monroe County. And the deal is that, you know, given enrollment advantages.

18:26

There are a lot of candidates who don't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning, but campaigning and our process is about more than just winning. It's about communicating. It's about speaking truth. And yeah, this horse race game that we play, oh, who's going to win? You know what? We'll find out election day or two or three months later whenever they want us to know. We'll find out who won later. Let's find out now what they stand for, what they think. Right? Let's evaluate people. And maybe we'll still, you know, vote the way the enrollment goes. But in the conversation, in the talk, in the debate, there may be new perspectives, new ways to look at things. John, I'm glad you phoned us, sir. Welcome to News Radio Wham 1180. Yeah, morning, Bob. Before you get overly critical of President Trump downscaling a military exercise in Korea, I think it's important to remember that the George Washington aircraft carrier has been pulled out of South Tennessee. It is what? The George Washington aircraft carrier has been pulled from the South China Sea and on its way to the Middle East. That doesn't have anything to do with South Korea. I think it does. It's generally where they're stationed. No, here's here's up, John. The Washington is not part of this exercise, right? It's redeployment from Vietnam, which is not exactly the same as Korea. It's a redeployment from Vietnam began at the beginning of last week. The South Korean exercise begins presumably today. The Washington wasn't part of that. And here's a thing. In regard to Iran... You know, President Trump saying, you know, we've won it. We're just waiting for them to surrender. I voted for Trump three times. His assertions require you to suspend reality. And, you know, I don't know if I can suspend reality. I think, to be honest with you, we have to, you know, at least explore the possibility that God bless him, but in regard to this, President Trump's lying through his teeth. I don't know if you remember, but Friday, he said that the United States was in complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. And so, in response to that, Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz. It launched missile attacks upon cargo vessels, striking four of them. It reduced the entire weekend's transit to five vessels, zero on Saturday, five on Sunday. Like I said, it struck four vessels. And it also directed its surrogate army, Hezbollah.

21:29

to attack Israeli forces killing three Israeli soldiers. Right? The guy who has the initiative in a war is typically the guy who's winning that war. And in the face of the president's repeated assertions that we're doing great, you know, over the weekend, Iran did something, you know, kind of demonstrate that it has the upper hand. Also, Wall Street Journal over the weekend has moved a story wherein our best intelligence and our allies' best intelligence is that Iran is actually continuing to implement a strategy of aggressive expansion of this conflict. hoping to further strike our Middle Eastern allies. Middle Eastern allies who for years we promised to protect and who we in this conflict have not. So I'm not trying to be negative or whatever, but right now our crap is in the wind. We have lost the trust in the upper hand in the Middle East, and in this thus far unexplained, you know, kind of backstab of South Korea, we have further taken the growing uncertainty about how reliable is the United States in Asia, and we have thrown that in the wind. And I just want to point out, and again, I'm a Trump person, but, you know, there's a point where you've got to say, honestly, Mr. President, what the hell are you doing? There is a point where Congress should ask. I mean, even if we're in the same party. For example, in the past year and eight months, our alliances with Europe have been dramatically strained. Right. They have recast our entire relationship. They anticipate the United States not as an ally in a future conflict. And they have assessed the United States as a potential adversary in a future conflict. Right? We lost Europe. We bought them in 1945, kids. Canada. Right, has decided to refocus its trade primacy from the United States to China. Canada is hostile towards us. It's an interesting thing losing those mopes, right? And in the Middle East, we have gone from a presumably dominant force to we're having our lunch handed to us by those people. And in Asia, where we, I thought, knew the future lie, our prime international rival being China and our alliances with the Asian nations being crucial, we have weakened those alliances so that they are questioning us. And we have taken South Korea our pal for 70 years.

24:39

And we've just publicly humiliated them and praised a man who has pledged to wipe out South Korea, right? And who this weekend shot missiles in the direction of Japan, our ally. We have almost lost Europe. We have lost the Middle East. We are now destabilizing our ties in Europe. But we have Venezuela now. And that's good. And I'm just saying what, at a certain point, you didn't need to stop and say, what allies remain in the American camp? In a world that's not really bifurcated, it's increasingly China dominated. We have spent a year and a half, essentially burning bridges where we had alliances of decades standing, alliances that, yes, helped them, but also were foundations of our own global primacy. So, you know, God bless Trump and everything else, and maybe he's got it all figured out, but maybe this is just bat crap crazy. And we are going to be paying for decades for this. You know, I can't tell the future. Who knows? I'm just some frigging idiot. And I apologize if I've stepped on your toes. But each day, our brother up there in the White House does things and says things which make less and less sense and which, sadly, increasingly do undeniable harm to the stability and future prospects of the United States of America. Take a break. Back in a moment. Listeners on the loose is next on News Radio Wham 118. The mid turns. Check in for the latest. The contest between common sense versus communism. Hey, Bob, this is Mike. I just want to say congratulations to your daughter over there and going to her training. My son, Michael, is on his way to Louisiana, too, with the 82nd Airborne. I've talked to you a couple times about it. I just wanted to say, God bless to her and all of our troops all around in every branch. Thanks for raising the soldier. Looks like we're going to be down there together, sweating like stuck hogs, I think. Good for them. He's super excited. He's been waiting for this opportunity. Outstanding. He was eighth grade and eighth grade. Oh, man. 19-year-old out there living his dreams right now. Bob at Lonsbury.com. Send me a picture of him, will you? I will. I will. I'll. Thank you. I'll. Thank you. You, too. Love to see that young paratrooper. Hello. You're on news radio, Wham, 1180.

30:18

Yeah, Bob, I think the president is just trying to engage those other idiots, the stuff he says. And then they do ask, Bob, and guess what? Michelle Obama. He's the man. Yeah, I don't know about that. I mean, and even if she were, that would not affect me. But some of this other stuff, like with countries and wars, that actually does affect me. Hello? Yeah, news radio, Wham 1180. Yeah, Bob. Yeah. I'd like to thank you for that wonderful compliment. You paid me last week when you called me a douche. I just hoped that someday you can add a bag to that, and then I'll know I've reached the pinnacle of achievement. It will be two of a kind. Very good. Very good. Hello? You're on news radio where I'm 1180. I just think about all the beautiful church fields, the thousands of churchvills are through the Middle East that we've stopped all over at the behest of your Zionist murderers who are continuing to do it. All of their neighbors. Yeah. On and on and on. Hey, good job with that synagogue down there in New York City this weekend. Was that you or one of your brothers? Okay. Yeah. Also, no disrespect. There aren't beautiful places in the Middle East. Right? I mean, it's, no, no. If you want to live in a desert, go check Arizona. That's beauty. Middle East. I don't know. God used to like that place, but it was a long time ago. Fertile Crescent was before climate change. Audio death ray. Hello, you're on news radio, Wham 1180. Yeah, Bob. Diper Don's got to go. Um... I wish a lot of his ideas and impulses and instincts are good. Have good things come out of this second Trump administration? Absolutely. Absolutely. But they have been coming at a high cost. And somehow you sort of wish that somebody could walk in and say, just sit down and relax, Mr. President. Let us do a little bit more of this stuff. but that doesn't seem to be the way it's played. I thought Marco Rubio would do this, and Marco Rubio does ride, you know, keep things fairly calm, but... You know, and here's the deal. So, okay, there's a midterm election and the Democrats win. Then it's Hakeem Jeffries who will be moderating and saving the country. Like hell, Hakeem Jeffries, God bless him, is not bright. He's not effective at running the caucus. He has no concept what America is about. We're effed either way. That's kind of, that's the deal here. Yeah, here's your choice. Do you want a pile of crap A or pilot crap B? Hello, here on News Radio Wham 1180. Yes, I'd like to know where all the money from the tariffs are being spent that went to the federal government.

33:15

A lot of money was collected, a lot of money continues to be collected, and the deficit simply grows. We laid off those people, we put the tariffs on, and the deficits even larger. Your question is a pretty fair one, ma'am, and politely, some of our Republican congresspeople should ask and get answers for us, right? Hello, you're on News Radio Wham 1180. Yeah, Bob, I want to congratulate my son, Aaron Dana, on winning the Beast of Burden Ultra 100 miles in 19 hours and 33 minutes. That's the one on the Erie Canal? Yes, sir. So how long to take him again? 19 hours and 33 minutes, 100 miles. Have you figured out like what that pace would be? You know what I'm saying? How many minutes per mile? I don't know. Probably four, maybe. I don't... Probably not doing four-minute miles. That'd be impressive. He did. Here's a thing. Congratulations. They do that race twice a year, once in the winter, once in the summer. I went out and ran two or three miles maybe with Brett Zabrowski in the middle of one cold winter night when he was doing that and thought, these people are effing nuts. I mean, like, over-the-top skilled. Aaron Dana is an outstanding endurance athlete, by the way. Hello, you're on news radio Wham 1180. Bob, I think you're missing the point of President Trump. He is exposing people like nations like Canada and France and others who would never, ever do anything to defend us. We really are very much alone in this world, and he is just exposing it so that we really know where we stand. Okay. Well, when he's done, we will be alone. Right? And history does not speak well of nations in that situation. Hello, you're on news radio where I'm 1180. I don't be so wishy-washy on Trump. We've been supporting the entire world policing up for years, and now we get a guy in there that's just saying to these countries for the most part. I know, I know that's the narrative, okay? But let me just remind people, we created NATO for our interests. We created our security alliances in the Pacific for our interests, right? We have armies and we're in NATO because we're still occupying Germany, however many decades after the war. We wanted a forward operating base to keep Russia in its place, not because we gave rats ass about Europe, but because, yeah, we'd rather fight them over there than anyplace else. We created this world, right? We were the beneficiaries of this world. So were they. I would suggest the entire world was the beneficiary of this.

36:18

Right? The prosperity of the last six, seven decades is really unmatched in world history. In fact, in spite of the wars and all that stuff, the amount of peace in the last seven decades is unparalleled. And to throw that all away... without any debate in Congress, without any support for the American people. Also, never mind, President Trump's also redesigning aircraft carriers now because he thinks they look cooler when the tower's in the middle. And I'm sure that'll work well tactically. I've got to run. God bless you. Keep your chin up and God bless the United States of America. News is next. Then you know, I'll be back here tomorrow morning, 8 till noon on News Radio Wham 1180. W.
