Any Muslim-only location like this or any Muslim-only event in the state of Texas, we've shut down. You cannot have a Muslim-only washing station in an airport. Governor Greg Abbott on Fox reacting to the Muslim footwashing station at Bush Intercontinental Airport. He's also ordered a review of the planned project in DFW, calling exclusionary religious facilities at public airports illegal. A similar project in DFW that's been scrapped. The airport had claimed that it was being funded. privately. Meantime, Greg Abbott is outlining his agenda for next year's legislative session. It's likely to push for a major expansion of school choice. There's already a waiting list of just this year more than 100,000 students that weren't able to be included in the program due to the fact that there wasn't enough money put into it this first year. And so I think that it shows that there is a lot of demand for the school choice program. Brendan Walton's with Texas scorecard says data center regulation will also be a top priority for Greg Abbott. More on that at 6 o'clock. The governor is also proposing legislation further limiting cell phone usage in classrooms.

They're desperate to keep their agenda alive, and the judges haven't helped. Judges nominated by President Obama or President Biden tend to put more obstacles in the path of ice. Neil Munro of Breitbart says they're doing all they can to stop his mandate, and Texas hasn't been spared either. Political districts in Texas are importing a large number of white-collar workers, and these white-collar workers tend to take jobs and buy houses needed by Americans. He says these white-collar Politics are most impactful because of the money involved. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTR-H. 506, federal appeals court struck down a Biden-era rule last week, setting new efficiency standards for gas and electric stoves and ovens. This is a win for common sense. I think this was obviously with a 3-0 ruling from the district court. It shows that the Biden administration tried to say that this. was non-controversial. More information in this case about the possible link between the vaccine and first trimester miscarriages. Something that it would appear was covered up. Here is Senator Ron Johnson. He was on one of the Sunday talk shows yesterday. I think it was on Sunday morning futures talking about some of this latest information that come from the Anthony Fauci phone. What we're doing this morning is I'm releasing one new text exchange with the Dr. John Meskola. He was the director of the vaccine research center under NIAID. That was Anthony Fauci's division. And this is really the, I guess, where Anthony Fauci got the whole thing about the fever. But it reads, I am corrected on pregnancy studies. Initial studies avoid vaccination first trimester due to possible fever and higher race of miscarriage in first trimester. Now, quite honestly, so that's where Anthony Fauci got the information on fever. I have no idea where Anthony Fauci got the information on significant cytokine storms. But this text really raises more. questions and answers. And of course, we immediately reached out to Dr. Maschola. Unfortunately, he immediately retained an attorney. And so we have been able to ask him just these simple questions. Just explain this to us, hopefully. We'll talk to his attorney, hopefully he'll fully cooperate, and we can at least answer these questions. We're also releasing an email off of Amphi Anthony Fauci's device that he received from Dr. Janet Woodcock. She was then the commissioner of the FDA. And she's reporting to Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Susan Collins that she is getting direct reports from including medical professors of... injection injuries. And you know, things that are hard to categorize, but quite honestly, they're the exact same kind of injuries that NIH, Dr. Nath, was, was diagnosing and treating as of March of 2021, very severe injection injuries. You know, people like Brand Drescent in React rite 19 have been talking about this, that they've been treating. But they never acknowledge these things publicly and even worse. In that study, Dr. Nath acknowledged to the vaccine injured, the injection injured that. Early intervention, early treatment was crucial for successful treatment, and yet they told no one. So again, we see time and time against these government officials whose responsibility was to surveil for safety signals weren't doing their job. When they saw something, they covered it up, they kept saying no red flags, no safety signals. They lied to their teeth to the American public, and I can't tell you how many people died or permanently disabled because they didn't have that information to make the decision themselves. And he's just talking about death and injury. What about all the people again who lost their jobs who were vilified for quote unquote not following the science? When the scientists were not following the science themselves, at least they weren't in public. 526, it is time to take a look at your money.

House Dems are also cowtowing to the socialists, you know, the ones they want to abolish ICE, prisons, and police. And in a new CBS poll, nearly 60% of Democrats said they had a positive view of socialism over capitalism. All of this comes about a week after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to downplay some of the crazy policies she once stumped for. She said the other week, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Woke 1 was crazy. She's trying to back away from those comments. Why do you think she's trying to do that? Is she going to run for president? I think so. President Trump talking to Fox. Now the squad leader is quickly becoming the left's favored presidential prospect. Polly markets have her as the second best odds for 2028 behind political, behind Vice President JD Vance. Political analyst, Luke Macias reacts. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez certainly recognizes that some of the most radical views that she has need to be tempered in order for her to appeal to a broader electorate. So yes, you're going to see her remove past positions, but it is worth noting that she still holds those positions. It is now 534. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Texas's laws for mail-in ballots last week. Those requirements include a driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security. Mail-in voting is the least secure form of voting we have in this country. The court upholding this requirement is tremendously important. Josh Finley with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says this should be a model. for other states. Meantime, Harris County was selected randomly to undergo a state audit of election systems after the midterms. It's the county's second audit in four years. The last audit followed the 2022 election and found multiple significant issues. You'd go to the polls and there wasn't any ballot paper. They had massive custody chain breaks. There were procedures they weren't following. That's state Senator Paul Bettencourt, who says despite improvements, he still expects to find problems this time around two. One that's already documented is they went back and started registering people at private PO boxes, which was against the law. He says he does expect a better result this year, but there were always... be issues to sniff out and address. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. 535, well, because of the backlash, flock safety is tightening surveillance rules for their cameras. Just last week, you had three Harris County deputies suspended for allegedly misusing the tech. Security analyst Robert Siciliano says it's a double-edged sword because the cameras on one hand are extremely useful. Finding that bad actor who is a threat to society quickly as possible, you know, the general public. should want this technology available to law enforcement. He says the pushback is necessary because the abuse would continue if it's not rained in. More violent crime in Houston over the weekend, one man dead, four others injured after gunfire broke out at a southeast Houston gas station parking lot overnight on Saturday. Police say hundreds of people were gathered at what's been called Club Chevron when at least two shooters opened fire. No suspects have been identified. Now this comes as the Trump administration's crackdown on crime is actually paying off with tangible results. The largest most prolific reduction in crime in modern American history, including a 20% reduction in the murder rate and a reduction by 20% of drug overdose. That's just to name a few. I don't hate my HOA. Only because I'm lucky enough to live somewhere where they don't really hassle you that much. I haven't had any run-ins at all with the HOA. But then again, we don't seem to have anybody with a clipboard walking around the neighborhood looking for violations. Heck, I'm not even sure where my copy of the HOA rules are.

But there are plenty of HOAs that aren't like that. In fact, there are people I know who won't buy a home if there's a homeowners association. They don't want to have to deal with it. If they want to paint their front door purple, they want to be able to paint their front door purple. Because HOAs always have rules about that, right? What colors your home can be in having to get approval before you do a landscaping project or put in a fence or any of those kinds of things. And there are some. I'm not saying this is universally true, but there are a lot of HOAs where the only people are interested in being on the board or the people who, I don't know, they have an authority complex. They just want to be able to have authority over somebody. So they join the HOA so they can, you know, they can be on the remodeling committee or whatever committee that is that's in charge of some of those projects that you want to do at your home. Here's a woman who got hassled by her HOA. But as I look at it, I'm kind of wondering why she didn't just go ahead and comply. They weren't asking for that much. You know, homeowners association theoretically is there to help your community look nice so the property values stay high. So you don't have the person that has a junky backyard or, you know, has a motorhome parked out on the street blocking the road or that kind of stuff. This homeowner is going viral because she showed herself spray painting a dead green bush. Well, it was green. It was turned brown. So she spray painted a green after the HOA kept charging her $45 a day in penalties for not complying. She was asked to remove or replace the dead bush. For whatever reason, she didn't. I don't know if it was just a pissing war with the HOA or what the story was. She, in the video anyway, seems very satisfied with the paint job. Here, I think that looks better. The problem is, is that, you know, with her creative solution, if she had not said anything about it and just spray painted a green, she might have gotten away with it, with maybe the HOA thinking that she'd replace the bush. But because she posted it online, they found out what it was that she did. And I'm guessing they're going to tell her that spray bending of bush is not the solution. My question would be, unless it's, you know, a huge bush, why not just dig it out? Why go to all the trouble of spray painting something that's already dead? 540. On News Radio 740, KTRH. 553 our time here in Houston's morning news. So some woman, her name is Melissa Ferris, vandalized the World War II Memorial over the weekend. Spray painted it. Spray paint all over it. and filmed herself doing it, by the way, just in case they didn't catch her, because evidently she wanted to be caught. Here's the report from Fox. The U.S. Attorney 4D.C. Jeanine Pirro is calling this incident despicable. Authorities say they got a call on Thursday about a person spray painting the World War II Memorial. Part of the wall had been sprayed painted with the words clean hands dirty dollar sign. A ranger also saw foam in the fountain area of the pavilion. Investigators say 41-year-old Melissa Ferris ran away after seeing the ranger. But she allegedly had a digital footprint. A complaint states Ferris had recorded multiple videos of herself on August 13th. including one of her admitting to vandalizing the memorial. She says, I am cognitively aware and executively of the choices I am making. Someone has to make the choices that are different, and I am accountable for my actions. The court documents say Ferris had also been arrested on August 10th for unlawfully camping on federal property. Now some people are reacting, saying defacing a national memorial is not the right way to protest. I wish that people would use the rights they have to express the... themselves in an appropriate way instead of taking away the enjoyment of all of us at a beautiful place like this. It's disrespectful to the country and its heritage. I mean, one thing we should all be able to unite on is World War II, which Everybody agrees was a good and right war. The announcement of the criminal charges against Ferris comes after the Justice Department dropped its allegations against former Olympian Davy Hearn in the reflecting pool case. Piro says the Interior Department withheld important information during the investigation that showed Hearn did not vandalize the pool, but the damage was from a rushed job by the contractor. The decision angered President Trump, who also reacted to the spray painting incident saying it's an insult.

ATRH is Michael Bored. The governor has ordered a review of an Islamic foot washing project at Bush Intercontinental Airport. This could lead to the state taking funding away. A similar project planned for DFW was scrapped after Greg Abbott got involved on Friday. The governor is also responding to criticism from President Trump over the pausing of data center construction here in the Lone Star State telling Fox those data centers won't disclose how much electricity they will use. It'd be like giving you a 100-piece puzzle and say, listen, you're going to solve this puzzle with only nine pieces. Obviously, that's not enough to solve the puzzle, and it's certainly not enough for the power grid to make fully informed decisions. Trump has said data center construction could be bigger than oil.

The president posted on Truth Social that he's instructed the Secretary of War to substantially reduce U.S. joint military exercises with South Korea. That comes just days after North Korea resume ballistic missile testing activities that are banned by the UN. But the president said he has a good relationship with North Korea's Kim Jong-un, and since he's been leader of the U.S., the North Koreans have been unthreatening. The president also made it clear he's not... not happy that the South Koreans didn't assist the U.S. and military action against Iran. Boxes, Jill Nado, reporting a 60-day ceasefire agreement between the U.S. and Iran expires today without a New Deal in place. And as the war drags on, an Iranian military official claims, Tehran can prolong the war until President Trump leaves office. Retired Lieutenant Colonel Bob McGinnis says it's part of the Iran plan. Iran's strategy is not to defeat us. It's to outlast us. Waiting and hoping for a return of Democrats. They believe that outlasting them through the elections in the fall will have a dramatic impact on the likelihood that the war will continue under a different Congress that would be controlled by the opposition party. Okay, I have to admit, I was caught a little off guard with this foot washing station story. First of all, in case you missed it, of course, Cliff just had during the news. But in case you didn't hear all the details, here is Governor Greg Abbott. Let me give you a little longer version here. This is Governor Greg Abbott being asked yesterday on Fox.

about banning Muslim-only foot-washing stations. That is illegal. Both airports are government-owned facilities. Both the federal and state constitutions prohibit the government from facilitating this kind of discrimination. You're referencing George Bush International Airport as the other airport under discussion here. And that airport, IAA already has one of these foot-washing stations. So I want to ask you, are you advocating that that existing... foot washing station get pulled out. So both for any proposed or any existing facilities like that are simply unconstitutional and illegal. Let me explain what I did here as well as what I've done before, and that is any Muslim-only location like this or any Muslim-only event in the state of Texas, we've shut down. You cannot have a Muslim-only washing station in an airport. Before that, shut down a Muslim-only event in Grand Prairie, a Muslim-only event at school districts and various regions across the state of Texas, because that is very simply illegal. One factor weighing in here with the airport, and that is there are two different parts of an airport, one of which is governed by our local cities, the other which is governed by the federal government here by Secretary Duffy. Before you get to the TSA check-in, that's governed by the city and the state of Texas is going to crack down and eliminate funding for that city if they don't comply with the standard that I've articulated. Once a passenger gets inside the TSA checkpoint, that is then governed by the federal government and is subject to Secretary Duffy to make sure that they too. crack down on and eliminate these washing centers because they are in violation of the United States Constitution. Okay, so if you want to have a foot washing station, it has to be open to everybody. I don't know how much of a market there is for foot washing at the airport. I don't even see anybody use of the shoe shine stands anymore, let alone getting their feet washed. I understand more the Muslim religion these days. then, because after all, we don't walk around the desert with sandals anymore. So there's not the same. They do it for religious purposes, obviously. But I would agree with the governor that if you're going to offer the service, you have to offer it to everybody. You can't make it Muslim only. You can't restrict it that way. So maybe they'll come back. Maybe they'll make a proposal to just have a foot washing station open to whoever wants it. In which case, how do you think they charge? I have size 14 feet. Would it cost me twice as much to get my feet washed? Would you want somebody else washing your feet? That seems like a real niche business to me. 610. Time for traffic and weather together. Do you think they're just trying to string this along as long as they can and hope the president won't really attack them or that the American people don't have the... desire for us to get involved in a more aggressive war with Iran and they just can wait this out until the end of the Trump administration, everything will be fine? Well, good morning. Yes, I think that's very much what they're thinking. They are looking at the last 15 years and, you know, what they experienced under President Obama, which was outreach and sort of permission to oppress their own people and the economic benefits they got under the original nuclear deal. And then, you know, President Trump was very hard on that hand when he came in. I was part of that administration. And I know what the maximum pressure campaign did to them. Unfortunately, under President Biden, they stopped enforcing the sanctions and they got another economic windfall. So I think they're very much hoping they can outlast this presidency and that will happen again. You can see that historical pattern. You see where they're coming from. But at the same time, what's happening to them now is different by orders of magnitude. So I don't think they can. I think economically this just isn't sustainable. strongly agree that's where their heads are. Yeah. Well, if you could wait them out until the end of year, that's one thing. But in this particular case, you'd have to wait them out until the end of the Trump administration. They still have several years to go. They can't survive economically for two years, can they? No, I don't know that they can survive for two months at this point. And Secretary Scott Bessent is poised to announce some very significant new sanctions this week. We don't know exactly what those are. It probably has to do with expanded what we call secondary sanctions because they apply to countries not the United States or Iran, but countries doing business with Iran, those second countries. So those secondary sanctions are really going to bite, particularly China. if we expanded into their financial sector. And we have very strong indications that China just isn't going to tolerate that. It's very damaging to them and that they would cut Iran off. And then that's another massive problem for Tehran. Okay. That will all be in the case. What's the best course of action here? Because right now we seem to be, we're as stalemate. Nobody seems to be making any progress. We don't see to be making any progress with Iranians. The Iranians don't seem to be making any progress with President Trump in what their desired outcome is. So where do we go from here? I mean, do we ultimately have to involve ground troops at some point in order to get this resolved?

I don't think so at this point. And I do think we're making progress. This blockade that the president put on in April is killing them. It's strangling them. And nobody's done something like that before. And the other sort of historical point to make, and sorry for being a failed academic this morning and going back to history so much. But the damage that was done during the first Trump term was not repaired during the Biden term. They took all the money they got from. you know, the sanctions not being enforced, but they spent it on stuff like October 7th. They spent it on their nuclear program. They didn't fix their economy. They didn't invest in growth drivers. And so what's happening now is just so much worse than what happened before. And then the application of the blockade on top of that is unprecedented. They've never been bottled up like this. And so I think that we keep on as we are going. We continue to try to have work around for the Strait of Hormuz. We have as many as 9 million barrels a day coming out, another 5 to 7, going east-west across the Saudi Arabian Peninsula in their pipeline, petrol line. Keep that going. We keep pumping, and we can get through this, but they can't. So I don't think under these circumstances, boots on the ground will be required. I think we're going to have. essentially a default of the country, an economic collapse that we haven't seen since the fall of the Soviet Union. The Americans are showing signs that they've reached their limit with surging beef prices. Beef sales fell 3 tenths of a percent in the three months leading up to mid-July after growing about 5 percent during the same period over the past two years. Consumers who had responded to rising prices by cooking at home or buying cheaper cuts are increasingly pulling back altogether or shifting to less expensive proteins. Checking on trading, technology stocks are on the rise after stellar revenue growth and anthropic. Sources tell us revenue last quarter jumped at least 14 fold from a year ago. And Americans are cutting back on nights out and spending more on hobbies. From knitting to scrapbooking, old school pastimes are booming. Spending at hobby, sporting goods and instrument stores are up 15% from a year ago in June. And by the way, in a new CBS poll, almost 60% of Democrats said they had a positive view of socialism over capitalism. 634, yet another victory for Texas in the fight to secure our elections. The state's new rules for mail-in ballots have been upheld by the conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that require a driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security. It reinforces the importance of identification when casting a ballot. Josh Findlay with the Texas Public Policy Foundation says this should be a model for other states. In addition to the number verification, the law also imposes tough new rules on those assisting voters as a way to crack down on voter intimidation. KTRH's Rex Oates. Harris County was selected in a random drawing to get another election systems audit after the midterm, so what's that going to look like? They do it across the board audit, looking at procedures, whether they're being followed. They'll look at actually some of the machine tests themselves, they'll look at the voter registration role. Security analyst Robert Siciliano says unlike computer software, the flock camera systems got flagged because they're out on every street corner. He took the fifth 111 times in Senate testimony about COVID last month and then got referred to the DOJ. for contempt charges. However, I mean, it works out for the district because it makes our scores look better. What are you going to do? Are you going to continue in the school despite these policies? Absolutely not. You know what's so interesting, Samir. My mother was a public school teacher who she taught Spanish. She was also asked to change a grade and it demoralized her and she eventually left the teaching profession at the public school as well. So what do you see in general are the problems with the public school? Is it just this kind of pressure from parents or are there other things you're seeing that have made you want to leave this profession? I mean, the pressure from the parents is a huge issue. It's one of the biggest. However, there are lots of ethical issues within the school system, from grades to retaliation. You know, a lot of teachers can't speak up because they're afraid of, you know, having something happen to them. So there's so many, so many issues. Yeah, I mean, we're talking about the policies, but let's talk about the kids for a minute here. What kind of message does it send to kids when their parents come in and demand that the school change the grade and the school does it? What does that do to the kids? It gives them a false sense of entitlement. They can't take no for an answer. They believe everything should be given to them. And it ultimately takes away their work ethic. There's no pride in anything that they accomplish, which will seep into the work industry as they grow older. There you go. That's a lot of truth in what she just said. Yeah, most school systems these days, they don't feel kids anymore. In fact, they give their teachers, everybody gets at least a 50. You start with a 50. There's no way you can get a zero because you didn't do the work. Nobody gets the zero anymore. Time for a little traffic and weather together. What's that, Skymind? You know, we're getting more and more reports of flock cameras and the abuse of flock cameras by the police. Now we have three Harris County deputies who are no longer allowed to access the flock cameras because of... what they were accessing them for. We don't know because the Harris County Sheriff's Department is being very quiet about it, so we don't know exactly what it is these deputies are accused of doing. But here's the report from ABC 13. Keep this in mind. The sheriff's office says it as hundreds of these. license plate reader cameras, but won't say where they're located. The Sheriff's Office also says that it has new safeguards in place to prevent misuse, but won't say how these safeguards work. And also, the Sheriff's Office says it's investigating three of its own for possible misuse, but won't say for what? Transparency that legal experts say the public should demand as more of these misuse cases pop up. Across Harris County, the sheriff's office says it has access to 480 license plate reading cameras. Equipment, the department says identifies vehicles and license plates, not people. However, Texas Civil Rights Project Senior Advocacy Advisor Christopher Rivera says he's not shocked to hear what the sheriff's office announced on Friday. I'm not really surprised because we've been seeing... Police abuse, flock cameras and automate license plate readers across the nation. And more and more, this problem is increasingly coming closer to home. The department says a USA Today reporter contacted the office on Friday about questionable use of these cameras by three deputies. Afterwards, the department says the deputies were suspended from using the technology as they review their activities. We asked the sheriff's office what activities they may have been used for. but received no response. While they're not talking, Rivera says there's been a pattern in other misuse cases. What happens is they tend to spy on their former spouses or partners. We've seen over 50 cases across the United States. To prevent misuse, the sheriff's office says it launched a new auditing tool. That flock is requiring all users to implement the flag issues. Attorney Dan Cogdale says it's a start, but not enough. An audit tool that flags misuse after the fact is better than nothing. But it's not accountability. Accountability means that public gets to see what was found. The sheriff's office says how many cameras it has access to, but legal experts say they won't say where they are. Devices, deputies say can help with investigations, but attorneys also fear what else they could bring. It's frightening stuff. It's next level concerning, and it's kind of a wolf and sheep clothing if you don't really know how big of an impact it has. Okay. President Trump called it a mistake for Republican Governor Greg Abbott to have the Electric Reliability Council of Texas look at data center's effect on the state power grid. The president believes U.S. leadership in AI, which the data center's support, could be bigger than oil. Colonel Scott reporting. Now, he's not trailing Gina Hinojosa, but the governor is in a tighter race than anyone expected, according to at least one new poll. SMU's Cal Jilson says, don't expect that to last. Greg Abbott has not yet started to spend the vast amount of money he has to make his own case. He says Hinojosa is benefiting from interest in James Talarico, so basically the popularity being pushed by the mainstream media is helping some down-ballad Dems. 704 President Trump ordering the Pentagon to scale back, join exercises with... Texas is already living with this. Harris County has again been selected for a state-mandated election audit, which seems like the smart thing to do. I would think you'd want to put them through an audit continually to make sure that the problems have been solved. I'm not even sure that, you know, you can do anything that's going to make us feel 100% confident the problems have been solved until we see that they have. But we'll talk more about that coming up. Yeah, but you have to have ballots at the ballot box in order to be able to vote anybody out, Orient as far as that goes. Harris County has again been selected for a state mandated election audits following a random draw. Do you think it was really random? I don't know if it was random or not, but the Texas Secretary of State says it was. The audit is the county's second in four years. What do we pick it on, Harris County? Stimming from that 2021 bill, the state legislature passed during the peak of all the problems that we're having. The scrutiny continues to bubble after the previous audit found widespread issues, including the valid paper shortages and other deficiencies. This is going to be the first audits since County Clerk Tunisia Hudspeth. took over the duties. Remember, we had that now defunct the elections administrator's office. And you know what that was all about, right? That was about bringing somebody in in order to make those problems happen so that they could control the vote. Well, now things are not operating that way. In fact, the tax assessor collector, Annette Ramirez, says she's welcoming the audit. She says, this is not our first rodeo. We take our voter registration processes seriously. and are very familiar with the audit process. Being selected again is another opportunity for us to provide transparency into our process as we continue to fulfill our statutory duties. Okay. Well, let's find out more with state Senator Paul Betancourt. It sounds like Harris County is a willing victim this time.

Jimmy, that's the best description I've ever heard. Yes, they are a willing victim because what happened in 2022 was the worst possible outcome for elections. We, you know, we had thousands of people walk into polling places. There was no ballot sheets. People got turned away. And there was actually an election contest that was won, which like never happened anywhere in the country. So. This time, we're going to do an audit, and we're going to find out, you know, if they've improved. And obviously, you know, you can tell that at least people are not getting turned away from the polls because they don't have any ballot paper. Right. I kind of mentioned at the beginning of my diatribe here that the Texas Secretary of State says it was a random draw. Would I be... unnecessarily suspicious to suggest that Harris County will always be a part of a random draw. Well, your suspicions are correct. Now, I don't need to laugh, but what's funny about this is there are 10 major counties, and they pick two of them, okay, you know, every election cycle. So it's, you know, it's 20% odds each year that they get picked. And they've been picked now, let's see, you know, two out of the first four, no, three tries. So they're running a little ahead of, you know, expectation. But quite frankly, this is important. What gets measured gets fixed. And part of what we found out in the audit last time, Jimmy, is there was 186,000 votes that broke chain of custody. Now, what that means is that if that type of behavior happens again, it means that, you know, weird things are happening. And that's what the public needs to know, because if they have faith in the election process, then you can have faith in the results. So, yes, both tax assessor Ramirez and County Clark Hesbeth are looking forward to the audit this time around. Well, that's a good thing. I know that one of the things you discovered last time around, and this is rather small compared to the 180,000 votes that broke chain of custody, but there were at least 100, maybe more, voters that were registered at PO boxes and UPS stores and postal offices around the county. which is a bit of a problem. So do we know if that's been solved yet?

Well, that's why I was actually happy to see the audit because I had to actually trigger what was called a 1933 letter, which was a complaint that said, you're not following the law. And I did it to the voter registration department, not the county clerk. And because they were clearly re-registering people at PO boxes. Look, no one lives in a 2x3-inch P.O. box. You can get your mail there, but you can't get registered to vote there. And so as soon as I heard that they had been selected for the audit, I made sure with Secretary of State that that letter would be part of the audit. So we're going to find out. And look, Jimmy, what's happening at Commissioner's Court today, there's going to be a property tax increase. The question is, is how much? Okay. Now, it may not be enough to go to the voters for approval. I would hope that rationality at least stops that from happening. If, you know, if we're going to have those type of tax increases and Lena plastered us with one, and, you know, a few years back that was 15% increase, then we're going to have to just demand transparency in elections. And that's really what these two bills do and also the audit bills. It's just make sure that you've got a process that you can audit because what gets measured gets fixed. How quickly after the midterm elections will we know how that election went? How long does it take to get the results back from that audit? Unfortunately, it takes too long. Okay, this is one of the problems. I mean, we'll get these audits back. Probably, oh, it's going to take them the better part of a year. I mean, they're going through what is effectively the 26 largest. states, you know, voter records for lack of better description. So it's not going to happen in any, you know, it's going to at least take a year to do it. But initial problems we'll hear about in time for the legislative session to make any changes that we need. Excellent. And that's critical. Look, the Clark Hussmith has done a much better job than that corrupt elections administrator, aka Clifford Tatum.

who had an employee that actually got indicted because of what he did. Well, that's what he was brought in for. That's why they created that office. Thank goodness that office is gone. Well, and, you know, and that's, you know, that's Uncle Paul and the Republican legislative group that pulled it off with a few bipartisan votes from around the state. Because it was, Jimmy, and you and I've been through this, if something is that bad, you either do something about it or people just literally give up on elections. Political consultant Luke Macias at 734 Harris County was selected randomly to undergo a state audit of its election systems after the midterms. It's the county second audit in four years.

The last audit followed the 2022 election and found multiple significant issues. You'd go to the polls and there wasn't any ballot paper. They had massive custody chain breaks. There were procedures they weren't following. That's state Senator Paul Bettencourt, who says despite improvements, he still expects to find problems this time around two. One that's already documented is they went back and started registering people at private PO boxes, which was against the law. He says he does expect a better result this year, but there were always be issues to sniff out and address. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. As for election integrity at the federal level, the Save America Act is expected to be taken up in the Senate in some form when it returns from August recess. Our Speaker Mike Johnson calls it a top priority. We added election integrity, the Save America Act, with some funding for troops and farmers. I don't think anybody who has common sense can vote against that, and we're awaiting the Senate's action so we can move it and get it to the president's desk. That was Johnson on Fox. Because of the backlash, flock safety is tightening its surveillance rules for their cameras just last week. Three Harris County deputies were suspended for allegedly misusing the technology. Security analyst Robert Siciliano says is a double-edged sword because the cameras do help in some ways. Finding that bad actor who is a threat to society quickly as possible, you know, the general public should want this technology available to law enforcement. Siciliano says the pushback is necessary. More violent crime in Houston over the weekend, one man dead for others hurt after gunfire broke out at a gas station on the southeast side known as Club Chevron. This comes as the Trump administration's crackdown on crime is paying off with real results. The largest, most prolific reduction in crime in modern American history, including a 20% reduction in the murder rate and a reduction by 20% of drug overdose. That's just to name a few. FBI director Kash Patel, 736, the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran expires today. What they have done to decimate Iran's defense industrial base, wiping out 85% of their ballistic missiles and their nuclear program has set Iran back decades or generations. It says deep, rich, beefy, very similar to a standard ribai, significantly cheaper than ribies or New York strips, can sometimes be loosely bound or have a floppy section since it comes from a more active muscle group. So there's ways you have to kind of tie together and process it in order to cook it. But. It's a very good alternative to Ribine. It's a whole heck of a lot cheaper. So, okay, these are great ideas. Now you're getting hearing damage. He doesn't care about the noise. Don't care about the water. Just put a data. That doesn't make sense. 7.52 is our time here in Houston's morning. All right. Governor Greg Abbott, well, on Fox News Sunday, I think it was. One of the Sunday talk shows on Fox. Getting asked. about data centers, you know, that, hey, the president's kind of called you out is maybe making a bad decision here about putting a pause on data centers. So first, here's what the president said, just to refresh our memories, and the response from Governor Greg Abbott. For Texas to say no to data centers is a mistake in the sense that it could be bigger than oil. I mean, data centers could be bigger than oil. You have to Texas oil. There are a lot of communities that want them, but more importantly, and bad for us, there are a lot of countries that want them. And if we turn off on data centers, we turn off on A.A. I need to provide the full context of the decision, and so I can clarify the entire situation, and that is what I did is I pressed pause on any new data center approval in the state of Texas, and then I established guidelines and guardrails for all data centers to comply with. One is data centers must not take water that is needed by rural communities. They must not take power that's needed by the Texas power grid. They must lower the cost of electricity for consumers. and they must not disturb neighborhoods or rural communities. And those guidelines and guardrails have now been fully applied to all data centers across the state of Texas. Then, in addition to that, one of the triggers for putting the pause in place, and that is that the state power grid, known as ERCOT, they were receiving requests for five times more power than the state power grid was able to deliver. If the state power grid were to accept all of those applications, obviously it would compromise our ability to maintain a stable and reliable grid. Hence, the need for investigation. And then it was the data centers themselves that were part of the reason why the investigation was needed, and that is because a Texas state agency requested... all current and future applicants for power grid ability in the state of Texas to provide information about how much power they were either using or were going to be using over the next five years and less than 10% of those data centers actually responded to that information. So the power grid in the state of Texas was dealing with less than 10% of the information that it needed to make determinations on the power grid applicants. It would be like giving you

a 100-piece puzzle and say, listen, you're going to solve this puzzle with only nine pieces. Obviously, that's not enough to solve the puzzle, and it's certainly not enough for the power grid in the state of Texas to make fully informed decisions about these data centers that are trying to be taking power from the Texas power grid. I think if the governor knows nothing else, he understands that Ercot and the power grid are kind of sore subjects with us. You know, ever since the summer of brownouts, ever since the winter storm, you know, knock the power out in North Texas in particular for long periods of time. Yeah, he understands the voters are reliably nervous about our power grid, our power supply, and having enough power to meet our needs. If he were to just allow... these data centers to get approved and set up without knowing exactly how much power we have versus how much they need if the grid went down good lord heads would be rolling including the governors at that point so i think the governor did what he had to do now why we didn't do that right from the very beginning, I'm not quite sure, because we've known that the big things about data centers are the amount of power they use and the amount of water they use, and we knew that we wanted to make a requirement that they generated their own power and they recycled their water.
