If you owned a big, well, it depends. You know, you go in some of these communities, and if you buy some of the historic houses that are there, there's all kinds of regulations on what you can and can't do. I mean, it's really something like, there's these historic sections that you can go through. There's a historic section I went through in Salem. It's just spectacular, these old houses. And, of course, you got a lot of that in the city of Canfield, too. that's spectacular. It's, it is a lot of, a lot of our history. What's on your mind, old timer? Well, you just, well, I, I also wanted to mention your news just said that Trump administration is planning on tearing down a pilgrimage site to build a border wall. I would think that government is more likely to tear down the Sistine Chapel. than a private organization like the Vatican, wouldn't you? Well, my problem with the Trump administration right now isn't any of this other nonsense. My problem is what you're seeing take place in Iran right now, which I think is just, it's been a nightmare. I think you and I are in agreement. It's been a nightmare since day one. It's been a mistake since day one, and it's not getting better. It's getting worse. And I'm deeply concerned again, as I would say to you, about what is going to happen here to energy prices. The price of a barrel of oil, gasoline prices. A lot of what you've been saying, a lot of people were boo-hooing you, but the strategic oil reserve is getting depleted. Our strategic oil reserve is being tapped into, and it is down to levels not seen, I think, since 85, if I'm not mistaken. They've done the same thing in China. Well, we're running out of all of this spare oil, if you will. Now, what do you do when you get to, what do you do when you can't tap into that anymore? And you have this situation that isn't any closer to being settled than it was months ago in Iran. And I'm just, I'm, I'm sincere to say, I'm concerned about the price of a barrel of oil, gasoline cost, and quite frankly, a recession or worse. Well, you guys are lucky. You're only paying $4 a gallon for gas. Right. I filled up yesterday. I paid $4.99 for gas. For $87? $4.99 for gas. It's costing us almost $100 to fill up our gas tank down here. Yeah, but are you putting in premium or are you putting in the low $87? 87. 87. You're able to put 87 in that Ferrari you're driving? Yeah. That eight-cylinder Ferrari. Oh, by the way, I've got...

bad news and good news for the options guy. He told me to buy SpaceX calls, remember? I don't want to get into all that day. That's over most people's heads. I just wanted to say that he changed his story. He said he didn't buy the options. He bought SpaceX X stock. And he's, what did he say he was doing? Oh, he's hedging his bets. Now, I don't know whether to believe him. I think he's so embarrassed that SpaceX is down so low that he changed his story to make it look like he's not losing as much money. You're talking over people's heads with this. I'd like to get into that stuff because the vast majority of our listeners don't do that sophisticated stuff. By the way, Dow gains nearly 400 points, S&P 500, snaps three-day losing run as chip stocks rise. Now here's the good news for options guy. Elon Musk just donated $5 million to Vivek Ramaswamy's super PAC to make sure data centers in Ohio continue to be built and to make sure the spy cameras keep going up to spy on you guys. And Vivek Ramaswamy is supporting high school kids in Chilokhati, building war drones to kill more people. And Vivek Ramaswamy just reported that his pack raised $12.24 million for the second quarter of the year, with virtually all of it from multi-billionaires, Elon Musk and Rodmere Timoshev and Bill Ackman and Ross Stevens. They each contribute $1 million each. And Stevens also gave $5 million to Vivek Ramaswamy's pack when it was founded last year. Did you give a million? I mean, you're talking about all these rich guys. Did you throw in any? No, I don't own the house in Ohio. But if I did, yeah, if I wanted a data center not to be built next to my house, I probably would have gave him a million to move at someplace else. Well, you know, you know, Osama Swami will face Dr. Amy Acton, former head of the Ohio Department of Health. Yes. We shut down Ohio during COVID. Now, where's all the political ads for Amy Acton? Looks like the fix is in. Looks like Vivek Ramaswamy is going to be your next governor. I can tell you don't live here because there's ads that are out there. There's not a bunch of them just yet for both of these candidates. So there's ads that are running. But I think it's wait. Not like Vivek Ramaswamy's ads? Well, I think it's way too soon. He's got 12.4 million this quarter alone to run ads. Well, I certainly hope he spent some here. Now, did you talk about on July 18th that humans first organized a nationwide protest against status centers? And, Ron, the resistance crosses all political boundaries. And a major reason is because it raises the cost of living.

I got to tell you something, Frank. I think some of these people are making some really good points about these data centers because. If you take a look, all I can tell you is what's happening up here. I don't know about where you are. But they say we're the sweet spot because we have the right weather. Even though I'm told you have some in Florida, but Florida's not a good spot for them because the weather's too hot. The cooling's a big problem in the aquifer. The water is an issue. So you've got water issues there. You've got cooling issues there. But Ohio is a sweet spot because we got the better weather for these data centers. But people are raising legitimate concerns over the water usage, even if it's a closed system, because even in a closed system, you have to maintain the system or wash the system out and what chemicals are being used in that water, and we don't know enough about that. But the demand that they're putting on the, as far as electricity, and increasing what it costs for you to... power your house is ridiculous. So maybe some of these people are right to say we need to put a moratorium on this till we know more about the water usage, what chemicals are used, and what state the water will be in, in addition to the power consumption. Maybe that's not a bad idea. We're lucky because the main issue with us and data centers is not enough water. Right now, data centers are not using up a tremendous amount of water compared to, say, like, utility companies, but as soon as they spread all over the country, they'll start competing with, you know, and just like you said, your electric bills are going up. They've already doubled. They've already doubled. And the data centers... They're not just causing large increases in utility bills in draining communities of precious water resources. Studies are showing that they're draining communities or they're causing mental distress from the constant noise they admit for now they bring in tax revenue and also create a small number of jobs. But the government ignores the will of the people because Ron data centers are expected to give our military bosses in Israel a competitive edge in the arms race against the rest of the world and because increases the power of the surveillance state to spy on patriotic Americans. Ron, I've read a report says the U.S. government is encouraging the expansion of AI data centers more than any other country by far. We currently have 4,000 of them. Now, you know, you were also saying about the stock market. Well, yesterday, the market was relatively unchanged.

Because, as you say, Wall Street dislikes uncertainty. Well, Wall Street is slightly optimistic that Trump is going to sign another memorandum of understanding with Iran. But at the same time, interest rate analysts believe that Kevin Warsh, the Fed chairman, may raise interest rates again as early as next month. So one positive piece of news offsets the negative, and the market was relatively unchanged, very little trading because they're adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Well, they should. Listen, I go back to what I said. I'm not going to get trapped into any of this stuff. This has been a disaster since the very beginning in what Trump owns this. He made the decision, whether he was convinced by Benjamin Netanyahu or. Whatever the case might be, he made the decision for whatever reason, and it's created a mess, and it's gone on longer than I thought he ever dreamed it would go on, and it's right at this point in time, there's no end in sight. And what I'm reading is there's genuine concerns, once again, as our reserves of oil are being depleted, and where we're heading here, if this continues to go on, as far as a price of oil and gasoline. and the inflation it could come from that, and the effects it could come from that, from fertilizer to all the other chemicals that are affected by it. I mean, it could lead to a serious economic downturn in this country. Serious one. Well, that's a good point. And last week, did you know on that oil prices, I think it was West Texas Intermediate, was down to $71 a barrel? And the price of oil before the Iran War was $67 a barrel. So Wall Street was betting that this war was going to end soon. But guess what? Today, oil and natural gas prices way up again. And I mean, the volatility in the stock market since this war began is nothing like I've seen in a long time. You know, I want to tell your audience that when you tell them that the stock market doesn't like uncertainty, that's a great example of all this volatility that we're seeing in the stock market. Yeah. You know, Ron, people are... I'll have to go over something. 401Ks in record numbers to make ends meet. Yep. Now, what's going to happen when they retire? Social Security will be bankrupt or you'll just get like two-thirds of the Social Security check that they promised you. Your 401k will be depleted. People are even withdrawing money from their raw buyers, their traditional, their rollovers, to make ends meet as well. They've got to put a stop. to this on ending money printing. They got to end this war, and they've got to go back to financial responsibility. But Ron, I don't care who wins the midterms, November 3rd. I just don't see the Republican Congress doing it. I don't see the Democrat. You know, Mike Johnson wants $360 billion more to fight communism, he said.

Now, Ron, I don't know about you, but I don't think anybody in South Florida is worried about the Cuban government landing in Fort Lauderdale and, you know, invading the United States. Do you? No. All right, buddy. Thank you. Appreciate it. You're on the air. That was painful, Ron. You should have saved us sooner. Hey, I just drove by the library. And one of your previous callers hit the nail on the head. When he said what I told you, we can go, something smells. There's not a structural issue with that building. It was fined for decades until some genius decided to put a wall because there was a water issue, which created the problem they have. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the pictures and realize that there's been purposeful neglect done to that building. It's not falling down. It's not falling apart. I just drove by it on and even looked at it closer, and the entire building has not been maintained. I'm not sure how you describe some of the architectural designs on that building, but you should ride by it one day before you go in the office. It's been neglected. You buy a house and do nothing for 30 years. You know what you're going to have. I know what you're going to have. This is a common-sense issue. And these people, they had a money problem. Well, listen to this. Hawk Station 570. WKBN. Back with Ted the Conservative, so basically from your observations, routine maintenance was ignored at Poland. Ignored. You know, and I could say in the 22 years I lived there, I can honestly see I've never seen anyone painting that building. But let me get to this, too, because I think what you have is twofold. You've got a woman that came here from Arizona who just does not like the architectural design in the year. She'd rather things look like they do in Arizona, I guess, more contemporary. This is a choice that's being made for personal preference. Number one, number two, they have an unlimited source of revenue that they apparently can't spend. I listened this morning to a program, and you had this arrogant SOB on, who was connected to Sherrod Brown. It sounded like he was running a political campaign, not representing the library. We have more people employed there than are needed. What's the purpose of the library, number one? They're beyond the purpose of the library, from charging stations to, they've got these programs where you could, if you need a tool, you can rent a tool for a day. You can take out a tool for a day. You can take a laptop out for a day. You can use a Wi-Fi hotspot for a day. That's not the job of the library. I'm telling you, Ron, there's something going on, and if those save our library, people were smart, and I think they are. They need to look past the emotion side of it because too often when you have situations like this, everybody reacts with emotion. I don't think any of these people are reacting with emotion. I do think there's a lot of emotion involved. I totally disagree with that. You've got to get to, okay, what do we need to do to stop things in its tracks? They've got to have an attorney that's involved with them. They need someone to work for them pro bono, foul an injunction to put a stop immediately to any library action until there's complete public disclosure from maintenance records to finance records. Heck, go into employee records. The guy says one of the reasons he claims are spending so much on wages today is because the price of insurance one of us. Are you kidding me? Is this guy think people are dumb? He sounds like he worked for Jared Brown. That's the ignorance I heard this morning. And people should be pissed off, to be honest with you. It's not as simple as your previous caller said, well, he called and said, don't they own the building? You could do whatever you want when you own the building. It's not their building. The library, the Mahoney County Library. And everyone that's on that board that voted against moving this library, I want to commend them. I don't know names of any of the board members. But at least you have some people that listen to the constituents. But you have a majority who apparently have become good soldiers for that director and won't stand up to her on anything it sounds like. It almost sounds like she's sitting on her throne dictating orders and all the little soldiers are doing what she wants.

The library does not need to be moved. They need to fix what they screwed up, that wall in regards to water, address the water situation, because as we all burned from the calls you've had, the water to that area has increased two-fold, if not three-fold. So fix the water issue. They created that wall. Fix which, they probably paid the same person to fix that wall that's designing them to current libraries. I don't know. Why would you go to Cleveland to get services and not seek the professional local people that we have in the area? There's a lot that smells, Ron. And I'm telling you, I've been around long enough to know that usually if there's smoke, there's fire. And there's smoke coming out of those libraries. What I just saw is sad. And it pissed me off to see the neglect under that building. Because I've been riding by it for almost 25 years. You never really pay attention. You notice it's beautiful. As you're driving through the community, whether you start at the Walgreens and you end up at the high school, there's an architectural design in that community and that township that every building must meet. Some of the historical standards. She doesn't like that. So what is she going to do? Well, isn't it to build a contemporary building in the woods somewhere that no one's going to see, no one's going to go to. Children are going to go to it. Middle school kids, elementary school kids aren't going to walk to the high school. I don't know. Listen, let me address some of what you had to say after my break. Just stand by, all right? Severe weather impacting parts of Ohio this afternoon with tornado warning seen in the southwest and eastern parts of the state, where they confirmed tornado touching down in Claremont County just east of Cincinnati. Storms also bringing heavy rain, triggering flash flood warnings in parts of the Cincinnati area that are still cleaning up from flash flooding this past Friday, when anywhere from four to six inches of rain fell within two hours, flooding stretches of interstate, roads requiring water rescues, while causing flood damage to homes and businesses.

A man's death Friday just east of Cincinnati blamed on the floodwaters. Ohio State University Assistant Professor Luke Perez avoiding jail time, as court documents show that he pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct Monday and was found guilty. Perez sentenced to two years of probation in order to pay a $100 fine with a 30-day jail sentence suspended. Perez had knocked the victim to the ground inside OSU Smith Lab building back in February. Just general reaction to some of the stuff you had to say, Theodore. I got a couple more thoughts if you want to hear those before you react. All right. Then I'll shut up. All right. How many school districts do we have facing financial deficits? How many teachers unions are struggling to get raises to keep up with inflation? Look at our district struggling. A billion dollar deficit can cancel a couple million bucks. Regardless of your thoughts on the levees in that, building levees, capital buildings, just look at the levies to educate students and pay teachers struggling. They're at deficits everywhere, and you're sitting all $50 million. Number one. Number two, has anyone looked at the employment numbers, the staff numbers of the library before this woman came here, and how many positions she's added since she got here? Because the amount of money they're spending is incomprehensible. And there's no accountability. So you know how you get accountability? You hold their feet to the fire. I would get an injunction to stop them from doing anything and get full disclosure. Let's see how many people they've added. Let's see how they're spending their money. Let's see maintenance records. Let's see all that stuff. I mean, if you're not upset about this, and like I said, it doesn't affect me one way or the other. I'm not going to that library. But I'll tell you what, the average guy should be upset, and this should raise a flag. I'll shut up and listen now because I can keep going. I'm sorry. Well, no, I'm sitting here taking it all in. Listen, it comes down to, here's the bottom line for me. First of all, as I said, Bob Astriana, almost here yesterday, and he was here last week. He is an architect. He's certainly a very qualified man. But let me just give you just some things in general, my impressions. I think he is a, I think he's a terrific human being. I think he's a good, decent man, okay, Ted? I think he's a good, I think he's a good, decent man. I think he loves that community, and I think he's done a lot for that community. He knows his stuff. That's my impression. And anybody that tries to muddy up a guy like that, I lose all respect for immediately. Anybody that wants to say negative things or thinks the answer is to muddy up him or his reputation is a despicable human being to me, because he is a good, decent man, and he deserves the respect that he has earned over these years. That's usually what cowards do. When cowards can't win an issue, then they resort to that kind of behavior. Well, I'm just giving you my impressions of him, okay? I mean, and that's my impression of him. I think he genuinely cares about that facility, and he cares about his community. And.

He built, he was the architect of a beautiful facility, but there was so much more to just that, just the architectural aspect of that building. It's the location as well. I mean, as I talked to him yesterday, location can be important. I mean, the thing that makes Canfield a special place, the city of Canfield is the green on the square. You follow me? It's a gathering point. As a matter of fact, bear with me for a minute here. I'm going to kind of stray off course. But here's what makes. these community drawing places. As I was talking to Bob, in the city of Medina, they have the Medina Square, which with the historic buildings all around the square. You follow me? Which are maintained with that historic look. They have to stay that way. There's a large hotel chain that's building a hotel up by the historic square in Medina, and it has to be built to match the architecture. of the square you follow me it just can't be built yes sir it has to match it has to match the architecture of it all because it is something that makes the city of medina very special and in growing up there it's it makes it extremely special uh that square and the park and the gazebo and it's a gathering spot it's just like in canfield with the green it's a gathering spot austin town and boardmen don't have that I mean, we have parks, but we don't have that. It's missing in a community. I think Boardman ultimately has, I think Boardman has the chance to get that. If the mall does fail, if the mall fails, I really believe that the property that the mall's sitting on, a portion of that property should become. uh the boardman square area it should be if if the ball fails that should be the central gathering point for boardman and it should be like a like uh the green in canfield or the square in medina it should it can be that for boardman boardman has an opportunity if that mall fails and i prefer not to see it fail to turn that into something spectacular for their community long term to add something that is needed that isn't there And I think that that would be a step in the right direction to enhance the community. But he wanted that library there because of the walking distance from the elementary school and to create a central focal point. for the community because it didn't have a square like that, like Medina or the green like in Canfield. That's why that location was important, where the original location of the library. And I think he accomplished that by putting that facility right where it's located. So there's more to it than just a library. It has to do with the location and the history of the location and bringing a community together. I think he achieved that by doing that. Then, of course, he built something truly spectacular to be proud of in that town, just like the Walgreens that he was the architect of, which is like no other Walgreens, to fit the, what do you want to say, the town, if you will. The aesthetics of the community. Exactly. And he did that. This is what makes communities special and different from other communities.

So there's more to it than just this building in the library. It should be a community building. It should be a place where people can go like it is with the library. So there's much more to this that I don't believe that the people that are on this board fully understand. I mean, I don't, I think that, forget this time limit. I think that if you sit down and have a discussion. these people that are making the decisions and i and i'm deeply disappointed obviously i had bob on now two times and and uh as i said during the program any of these people with the library feel free to call the lady that's the head of the library or any of these henchmen that she's hired they'll ever call they feel you're beneath them wrong people are beneath well whatever so you know their opinion i'm telling you okay but they can feel free to call and they can actually speak make their case and listen to what Bob has to say and carry on a conversation. Because if you think you're right, then make your case, show Bob where he's wrong, or listen to what Bob has to say, and maybe you'll find out that you might be wrong. But we know this much. Bob was there when this building was built, when it was designed. And he knows more about it than a woman that they brought here from Arizona. He knows more about it than any of these people that have been hired in these positions to, what, insulate her or whatever. I don't even know why you have a problem with the library and you're getting top heavy with all of these people with all these people and their salaries you're becoming too administrative heavy and you You become more and more out of touch when you have that kind of stuff. As I said, instead of the people, why don't you hire people that actually have abilities in maintenance to maintain these buildings and get them on the payroll, some craftsmen, instead of a bunch of people that push paper and really don't have much talent at all other than trying to push paper and tell the community that they're wrong. So I would like to see a discussion between Bob and... The woman that runs the library. I'll have it right on the program. We've got hours to do it where that they can make the case to each other. And will she do it? Will the people that say the negative things about Bob? Will they do it? Because, you know, that's, you want to have a discussion? You know why, Ron? I don't want to speculate on any of it. No, no, no, I don't speculate. I don't speculate. I'm just saying, here's my invitation to these people that you really need to sit down and have a discussion with each other because the reality is.

You could be right. You could be wrong. But you've got to listen to the guy why it's there who built it and how we can fix this problem and keep this great facility, a public library in this community, as opposed to saying a bunch of people who are on a board who have no background in this at all need to need to hear the case. They are not contractors. They are not architects. They are not engineers. They're not builders. and actually hear from the guy that orchestrated all of this and the associates that he brought in with their specialties on how this was built, how this can be fixed, why this isn't a flaw in construction, and then talk about the maintenance that hasn't been done. All of these pencil pushers and paper pushers are insignificance. What you need is craftsmen who can go down and maintain these buildings. That's where your money should be spent on behalf of the taxpayer. I take it one step further. I say to you, I will not vote for a library levy. I don't support the fact that you're overtaxed on it now. I don't support the fact that the arrogance that's coming. I think it's very arrogance. on how these people are being treated as a taxpayer. This matters to me as a taxpayer in Mahoning County. I pay these taxes. I pay him from a state level. How this man is being treated, how these people are being treated, is just such arrogance. I cannot and will not support it. I will not vote for a library levy. I will not support it. I believe that you need a new... administration that is certainly more conducive someone who serves the people not themselves exactly this is not a dictatorship and quite frankly there in lies the problem this is not how government is supposed to work you have arrogance coming from all these people this isn't a game And I think too many of these people think this is a game. We're going to get our way. We're going to show them. We're going to muddy this architect up. This isn't a game. This isn't about that. And that's the wrong attitude. I have zero respect for it. I had my humble opinion. It's only my opinion. I believe I would get rid of all of these people. I believe if it was up to me, I'd get rid of her. I'd send her packing. And I would get rid all the cronies that were the people that she hired. I would hire people that are more responsive to the public. I would hire people that would maintain these buildings. And I would go so far as to looking at the people who appointed some of these members on this board also. But I'll end with this, Ron. I don't want to take up all your time. When public officials have the truth on their side, they will stand on the highest hill in the town.

They repeat those truths. When a public official doesn't have the truth on his side, they stay silent. Right. I mean, how taxpayers are being treated. I sit here and I often talk about this, how taxpayers are being treated. And I would say this. Do you think George McKelvey would run it this way? I mean, as I say a million times on his program, George McKelby was a mayor of Youngstown. He sat in his studio. He took calls from the people of the community when they had a complaint or something. He didn't tell them they were dumb or stupid or he wrote it down on a legal pad. He came over on his phone. He called whatever department it was and told him to take care of it because he said, these are my customers. They weren't voters to him. He wasn't an arrogant guy to say, I'm the mayor. I can do whatever I want. He referred to all of those people as customers. He had a customer mentality. Hey, go fix this pothole. Hey, go take care of this. That type of mentality is needed when it comes time to run the library as opposed to hiring a bunch of people to insulate you from the criticism or to cover your ass. I haven't heard from this woman. I make a public invite for her to come on the program. I'll bring Bob back on the program and make your case to the public. It is our money. It is our community. You're new to this community. You're blessed to be here and getting a paycheck you're getting. Again, her silence speaks volume. Well, we shall see. You mentioned the mayor. Sadly, Ron, and I don't know you might agree with this, but we're running out of people of character like Mayor McElvern. Right. And because as I see how they could benefit themselves. Right. As I point in this job, get me to the next bigger paycheck. Right, exactly right. And did you have any input at all? Once again, Mahoning County is going to take out all these bonds to redo this, you know, the Eastern Gateway project. Did you, all of you? that will be responsible for those bonds in the debt of this community, have any say-so in it whatsoever, any say-so in it. Nope. So therefore the cloud will always be there, and that's their best. The county commissioners have to own that. They have no public hearings. You know, when you spend that kind of money, whether it's the county building downtown or the library here, there needs to be public meetings with public feedback. There needs to be conversation. You get three minutes to speak and we're not going to really respond to you. We're just going to stare at the wall behind. That's ridiculous. There needs to be engagement. Right. And that's where, you know, the county commissioners, they may be making the right decision. But you and I will never know that because.

and say, is this position needed? I mean, it just seems to me that government is out of touch with what the situation is here. I'm genuinely concerned with where things are going from a standpoint of your real estate taxes and young people being able to afford to buy a home and old people being able to stay in one and everybody in between. We don't need a bunch of people on the payroll that aren't productive. We should be talking about what we're cutting, how we're becoming more efficient. How we're making do with what we have in our number one priority should be the taxpayer. And that is not the mentality that's going on now. Too many of these entities are these entities that have millions of dollars in surplus money of yours. That belongs back to you. I don't know if they're just so out of touch because of their salary and benefits that they can't even relate to what people are going through in this community or simply just don't care. But it's a deep, deep problem going on here. And I should, I really got to play that Ron DeSantis thing. Again, I played it one day, what a couple weeks ago, when you listen to Ron DeSantis talk about how they approach it in Florida once again, they're spending less money this year than they did the year before. Not adjusted for inflation, actual dollars. So they're spending less money this year than they did the year before. Less money that year than they did the year before. For four years in a row, no adjustment for inflation, they're spending less dollars than they did the year before. because they're operating efficiently. They're saying, is this position needed? It's zero-based budgeting. We don't start with what you had. We start with zero. Is this position needed? Is this person doing something to benefit the taxpayer? Is this project benefiting the taxpayers? But you don't see that here with the arrogance from the library and this polling library. I don't give a damn what the board says. I mean, these people need to sit down. and have a public discussion that we will be more unhappy to have with the head of the library if she thinks she has a case and Bob.
