How you doing there, Beth Troutman? my sweet friend i'm doing great i'm doing well too i this weather's uh absolutely just the worst but you know what i guess you know a little sunshine a little rain a little humidity uh and then what do you get uh i don't know but you get dewy skin you know oh doy scottal woman dewy skin's a good thing doy skin wait a minute doy skin Wasn't he a football player back in the day? I'm trying to remember. I think, or was he coming off the turnbuckle? I can't remember. Doey's skin? Was that? Nick, can you look that up? I've got to figure that one out. I'll look at that, but yeah, I think he played for the falcus. Yeah, that's what he did. All right. All right. I got to ask you some questions. Yes. So the axing is going to go like this. What are we seeing with the DSAs and all this kind of thing? Because I opened my show and I was, you know, giving advice and stuff like that and whatever. But like, is this thing going to pit her out? Is it going to ultimately just go back to where it was? I mean, I don't understand what we're supposed to do with the DSAs. Well, I think the Michigan primary is going to give us some insight tonight. If you pay attention to primaries, then we know all too well that the people who vote in primaries, it's a small number of people. You know, we're talking maybe 10% of the voting population in any given state. And they're voting for, you know, they're really plugged in people who are voting for their candidates. And we've seen in the last... I mean, I've been thinking, as a political science major, and you know, you're a political junkie the way that I am. I've been thinking about how the pendulum has swung since 2000. I mean, think about Bush v. Gore in 2000, and, you know, like, what a new story that was. And then everything that has happened since. And you think about the pendulum swinging. And, you know, around 2010, we started really hearing about the Tea Party and, you know, these really, really conservative Republicans that then brought the rise of the Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Lauren Boebert, you know, who were winning primaries in their districts that then put them in seats once the general election came around because they were in very easy to win districts once the general election was there.

And I feel like this pendulum is swinging. in that same way to the far left now. And that's how we're seeing, you know, the DSA. And we're seeing young people who at this point have been hearing about the American dream. And they're seeing, you know, housing prices that are priced out of their affordability range. They can't afford, you know, groceries. They can't afford the life that they felt like they were going to get or even the life that their parents had, which, you know, most of the parents of some of these young Janzears are our. You know, they're us. Sure. And I think the rise of the democratic socialist movement is kind of coming from that. What do we do about health care? Nobody's talking to us about health care. Nobody's talking to us about Social Security. Nobody's talking to us about the price of groceries. And we've heard all of the Republicans, we've heard all of the Democrats say all of the talking points, yet here we are as young people not seeing any real results. And they're looking for a solution. And I think what they're seeing is... a group of people who were saying things that sound rational to them or at least helpful. And I'm not saying that as it's the solution to anything by any stretch of the imagination. But I think we see pendulum swing like this because... things aren't happening that seem helpful to the average voter who is plugged in, to the average American who is plugged in. But I don't think, you know, when you get to a general election, if they're competitive districts or competitive seats, I don't think you see DSA candidates successful, just in the same way that Tea Party candidates, you know, were successful in those districts, you know, 15 years ago, 16 years ago. I think it's... It's this weird pendulum swing because of not seeing solutions. And I think the best that we can do as people who want to see the best for all Americans and the best for our country and the best for our democracy, our constitutional republic to survive, is to actually start paying attention and figure out the real ways to come to... an agreement to find ways to address the problems and not just

yell at each other. You know, I think both of these things in the last 15 years, 16 years has been the result of division and people feeling like nothing is getting done. And if we could actually figure out ways to solve some problems that doesn't feel like it just benefits the billionaires or that it doesn't just benefit the politicians, you know, themselves, then we could find something that led... led us to a more centrist view, which is where the majority of the population lives. But unfortunately, the majority of the population doesn't vote in primaries. That's right. That's right. And one thing that's very interesting to think about, J.P. Morgan has committed $750 billion to expand home ownership. Like, that's a lot of money. That's a lot. That's a lot. And what I'm looking at here is one thing. I'm looking at, does Jamie Dimon decide he wants to jump into the race for the presidency? Or does Rahm Emanuel decide? He wants to jump into that because it looks to me like this is going to be the shootout at the OK Corral, you know, where you're going to have to kind of clear the run. The DSA people are doing their thing. I'm just wondering what this looks like as it gets deeper and deeper into February. Yeah, yeah. I mean, we're going to have this, I think today's primaries are going to give us some really interesting insight. And as we head into the midterms, we're really going to, I think, see a result of... Gridlock, the result of gridlock, the result of a lack of communication. And I think the result of spending, you know, too much time appeasing a certain percentage of the population and not looking at the greater good and the whole of how people are struggling. And there's so much that we could, I think, do to address some of those issues. What do you got coming up tomorrow morning? What do you got? We're going to talk about some of these issues.
