Good morning, Ryan. Good morning, Dana. Well, I suppose there's no use in letting the grass grow under your feet. No sooner than we get an indictment. against Democrat Sheila Cheerfulis McCormick then Republican Greg Stuby is already coming out, looking for a vote on expelling her from Congress. She was indicted by a federal grand jury. This was a $5 million FEMA scam in which the allegation is that she and her brother were overpaid in FEMA money during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yeah, the invoice was for $50,000 and they received $5 million. Instead of saying, you know what, we better tell somebody about this. They rushed to funnel the money into different places where it wouldn't be found. And she rushed to go out and buy a $109,000, three-carat, vivid yellow diamond ring. Wow. Yeah. I want to see a picture of this ring. I can only imagine what it looks like. Oh, of course. I mean, I don't think you go buy a $109,000 ring to let it sit in a drawer. So this was, she was supposed to get $50,000 and she got $5 million. It's quite a type of. Well, somebody at the FEMA office obviously put a few extra zeros on there. Yeah. So she put some money towards her campaign and then some money towards her finger. Well, in any event, this move comes as the house is growing kind of tired, the increased use. of expulsion and censure. So there's really no guarantee how far Stubi's desire to have her expelled from Congress might go. And, of course, don't forget, she's been indicted at this point. So she certainly has a chance to prove her innocence. She has said the indictment is a sham. The problem is the president was kind of set. when George Santos was expelled before he was convicted. So that's, you know, what you've got a number of members of Congress bringing up. We'll see where the whole expulsion thing goes. My guess is, I don't know. It's going to go anywhere anytime soon. But we do know, I brought this up yesterday, Reid, that... uh we've heard from the congresswoman she's denying all the allegations and she's using the castanza defense uh this is what she's saying about it wrong Should I not have done that? I tell you, I got to plead ignorance on this thing because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing was frowned upon. I just had no idea that if you put in for $50,000 and you can't use it. They made the typo, you know. Right, right. And then I've got to mention this.

So there is a job opening in Congresswoman Sheila, Cherfellus McCormick's office. They're hiring a communication strategist. I'm not making this up. And they say the ideal candidate is a crisis manager who will serve as the spokesperson and primary communications advisor to the Congress member. And they want someone who develops and implements an aggressive and effective communication strategy for the member. Someone who increases the Congresswoman's profile. I think that's already been done. Yeah, that's been accomplished already. Someone who works well under pressure and can handle stress. And someone with strong crisis management skills. So if you're interested There you go. I think I found the ring. Oh, you found it? I think so. I mean, it's a big yellow ring, right? It's got to be huge. I mean, it was three carrots. I mean, I don't know for sure, but I just found a picture of her and she's wearing a really, really nice ring. And she's got on like a navy coat and she's got her arms crossed her chest. She's selling it off so we can see the ring. Yeah. Yeah. I can see it from over here. It's huge. Let me say, you've got to turn your laptop around. I've got to see this ring. Oh, yeah. You think that's probably it, right? Probably. That's worth every cent of $109,000. It looks like a yellow diamond ring, doesn't it? It does. That's hilarious. All right, what else we got going this morning? The Trump administration has released some plans could push offshore oil drilling somewhat closer to Florida's shores. A lot of environmental advocates say this could be detrimental to the state's coastal economy, and that would include the Tampa Bay area as well. for opening a portion of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico that has traditionally been off limits to new drilling. This is the first time that anybody has really even talked about this since I think the mid-1990s. Yeah, there are many things that are less popular across party lines here in Florida than talking about drilling off the coastline. And you saw Ron DeSantis, Senator Rick Scott, Senator Ashley Moody, Jimmy Petrona, like... everybody come out and say, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. That's so fast there. I don't think so. I am telling you right now, this is not going to happen. It will not happen. There's going to be way too much blowback, especially, again, from Republican lawmakers here in the state, not just Democrats who obviously are against it, too. I don't think this happens. All right. So we have our Florida man story today. This is a guy. who was claiming to be taking part in a TikTok challenge arrested after he was walking down Broken Arrow Trail in Polk County and Sheriff Grady Judd weighing in on it. And on Broken Arrow Trail, it's 36 degrees. And this dude is walking down the road buck naked.

wife wasn't around he wasn't allowed to be around uh women so it was that going on and and then it was who covered it and who didn't so CNN and MS now such a stupid name uh they carried it Fox News only carried parts of it yeah they played like George Bush uh George W Bush's you know eulogy for like 10 minutes and that was it I mean back you know 15 years ago, Fox would have carried all of it. Oh, yeah. And, and, yeah, MSNBC, at least that, they wouldn't have carried any of it. It's crazy. Right. No, that is a big turn. And it's remarkable to watch just, you know, I mean, the fact that the Cheneas were called rhinos at the end, like, how are they a Republican in name only? Not for nothing, but they are. The President Trump has been a Republican, but yeah, certainly not MAGA Republicans. No, exactly. They're Republicans from a different era in Republican politics. Yep. All right, let's get to, and again, we're joined by our national correspondent, Rory O'Neill, this. push for airline civility that we're seeing from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. In fact, this is what he said about this new civility campaign the other day. Help people out. Be in a good mood. Dress up. Bring civility back to travel. And I think everyone's experience is going to be that much better. find that to be so funny like be in a good mood dress up come to the airport so i was watching news nation talking about this last night and they were asking people what they thought of it and they said yeah people need to be friendly and people need to help each other out and they said but when it comes to him telling us what to wear keep the government open don't tell us how to dress like people find the found the part where he because he also had said people dress like they're going to bed when they fly yeah yeah people we're not happy about being told to not dress comfortable. Getting the rules of the road from the man from road rules. Right. Yeah. First of all, my only complaint with this is why are we limiting it to the airport or the airplane? Like, shouldn't these be the standard rules everywhere all the time? Let's take it one step at a time, Rory. You're getting a little out of yourself. Baby steps. Don't start telling me to dress up on a road trip when I want to wear my sweatpants. Yeah, yeah, Rory, when I'm rolling out to public, so I'm not getting dressed up. Oh, please. You just haven't delivered now. If this were Pete Buttigieg saying this, could you imagine?

Be a lot of blowback. Yeah, you're right about that. But I don't necessarily think what he's saying is wrong, including on the dress part. I mean, you know, it used to be people would, they would want to present themselves in a respectful manner when they went out in public now. That is just not the case. And, Dana, you made a good point. We were talking about this yesterday, the shoes thing. you think that a lot of people started wearing sandals and stuff like that showing their feet because they'd have to take them off. Yeah, because it's a pain to have to untie your sneakers and stuff like that and take shoes on and off when you're at the airport. But... Also on News Nation last night, I thought it was funny. They had all these clips of people's bare feet and what they do with them on airplanes and people putting their toes up over the screen and like all kinds of disgusting stuff. So yeah, I always wear socks when I travel, but I'll wear like socks with my Birkenstocks or something. It's not a cool look. You know, put on some shoes, pull up your pants, put the pacifier in your kid's mouth so they're not screaming on the plane. Cover yourself, like cover your chest area in your body. What do you think about that? Slow down, slow down. I think that depends on the circumstance. You can leave the juicy sweatpants at home and your own pillow. They always show up with the juicy sweatpants, the giant headphones, and they're hugging the pillow with the 30 kings. They just go out there. A messy bun. And now they're... Yeah, and now they're all at B-32 with the rest of us. It's true. Now, do you help, have you ever helped somebody with their bags? Because he also made that point, like help somebody, you know, help people with their bags. Have you ever done that? I'm six foot six. I do it all. He's putting everybody's bag away. Yeah, I get irritated because I'm, I'm. kind of small, but I'm perfectly capable of getting my bag in and out of the overhead bin. And somebody always tries, some dude, gross dude, always tries to help me. And I'm like, I got it. That's your chance. A, depends on the plane type, right? Some of those bins are higher than others. But yeah, I put luggage up. I take items off the shelf at Publix and I put stars on top of Christmas. Those are my things. That's what I do. That's your job. We'll see if people follow this new civility campaign. I was surprised during the shutdown that there weren't more incidents on planes at airports just because of the delays and the frustration. I was a little surprised we didn't see more of that recently. Well, and I would also note it's also time for airlines to start treating us better than cattle. That is a great point. Yeah. That definitely doesn't help. There is that great Simpsons joke. Air India, we treat our passengers like cattle. That's a very good joke. Rory O'Neill, our national correspondent with us. A five-year fight between a homeowner in the villages and the community development district over a 12-inch cross in the front yard just ended with the homeowner receiving a $70,000 settlement from the district. So it all started. On April 1st, 2019, when Wayne and Bonnie Anderson received a notice from the CDD, stating they were in violation of community standards regarding lawn ornaments, someone had complained about a 12-inch... white cross in their front yard. Not 12 feet. Yeah, yeah, no, a 12 inch. We're talking about a foot. It's a foot high. You can barely see it. So the homeowner said he thought it was an April Fool's Day joke because he received the letter on April 1st. He refused to remove it. Turns out this was a real violation of the CDD rules and they started issuing a fine every day the cross remained in the yard. 25 bucks a day, and then he started getting late fees and all of that. He said the last time he checked, the fine was up to $44,000. Over a 12 inch dollars. And they wouldn't pay, so the CDD filed a lawsuit against him. And when all was said and done, Five years later, they had racked up $250,000 in legal fees. Unbelievable. And a judge ordered both sides to settle the matter out of court. The villages CDD ended up having to pay $173,000 in legal and court fees and they have to pay the couple $70,000 for their legal fees. And the cross... gets to stay in the yard. A lot of drama in the villages. It really is insane. This one, though, this is new. And when we check in with Adam Walzer, Tampa Bay 28 investigative report on the 8 o'clock hour, you're going to hear more crazy stories about HOAs and how out of control it is. The CDD can be similar to an HOA in some communities. It really just depends on how they set it all up. But yet CDD, HOA, they all are very controlling.
