Streamers. right there in the WDBO app. While it happened about, oh, 90 minutes or so before President Trump's 8 p.m. deadline on Tuesday night, a deal reached for a two-week ceasefire in the war between the U.S. and Iran. with Israel in the mix as well. The president says that the ceasefire is subject to the complete, immediate, and safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. This is in part what the president had to write on Truth Social. This will be a double-sided ceasefire. The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all military objectives and are very far long with a definitive agreement concerning long-term peace with Iran and peace in the Middle East. East. He goes on to say this, we received a 10-point proposal from Iran and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. The president further going on explaining that almost all the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran. So the deal is that Tehran says it will allow passage through the strait of Hormuz for the next two weeks under the Iranian military management. That condition. of course was key for the president. So we have at least for now, at least for now, as I do this podcast on Wednesday, April 8th, a two-week ceasefire with hopes of a stoppage of this war. Then again, it is the Iranians. You can never, ever take them at their word. They have proved that time and time again over the last 47-48 years. So we have a ceasefire, at least for now, with Iran. And again, this regime is not the most trustworthy regime in the world, whoever is running the country. right now. Iran did send more cluster bombs into Israel after the agreement was reached last night. They also struck various Gulf states after the agreement, too. So this is what they do and have done traditionally. And President Trump seems a lot more optimistic than others, people who believe that Iran will not live up to the ceasefire agreements. Jimmy, I got to tell you, I just spent some time with your colleague, Brian Kilmeade here in the WDBO Studios in Orlando, and he's doing his show here this morning. We've got to get you down here at some point, my man. Yeah, no, I love it down there. And, you know, I'm not, I don't love it so much that I'm going to go to Disney World alone like Lindsey Graham. But I'll be there. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. The Lindsey Graham thing is so great. By the way, he went by himself, bought a little mermaid fairy wand. The nice thing about being an old man who shows up alone with a fairy wand is if you buy one. security throws in an ankle bracelet. It's no extra charge. It's a nice touch, nice capitalistic deal right there for Senator Graham. He went to a little Mickey Mouse breakfast and the whole thing. Not bad. Not bad, Lindsay. All right. So Iranian civilization has still exists this morning after the two-week ceasefire agreement came out with Iran about an hour and a half before the eight o'clock deadline last night. Jimmy, what is your take on this two-week ceasefire here? I might be the perfect guy for this story because, as you know, I worked with Pete Hegseth for about five years. But as a former New York City cab driver, I also worked with half the Iranian National Guard. So it's like, I should be brokering this. You are the expert. Yes. Why are they not sending me in? I mean, I think this is ridiculous. I think at the very least, Trump is speaking to Iran in a language they understand. There's a language barrier, okay, between a world and Iran. Like, if you say to Iran, here's a bunch of sanctions, they say death to America. If you say, here's a bunch of cash, they say death to America. If you say the Iran, Ayatollah is in a coma and his leg is gone, they say, I'd like to negotiate. You know, and that's how this works. You have to talk in force. And everybody was all worked up about the civilizational threats yesterday. But the truth is, I think he would have followed through on a lot of it. I don't think it was in a comic bomb situation. But I think they need to know this is a no-nonsense negotiation. He's trying to fix a 47-year problem. I don't think we're just going to rid the world of this, you know, despot that's running this place, no matter who that new despot winds up being. But the only way you're going to keep them in check is if the military is there to enforce some barracks. And that's what we're after here. That's what we're after. Yeah, that's really good perspective. I mean, this president is unconventional to say the least, Jimmy. And look, it's always the art of the deal with this guy. Always. It's always intense pressure with big time threats to force a deal, no matter whether that's internationally, here politically with his real estate company. I mean, that's what this guy does. It doesn't typically fit into a, you know, political diplomatic setting always. But look, it's a fact. Yes, but that's what the media doesn't get. Like, this is a manufactured hysteria. Whenever everybody hyperventilate because Trump said something, okay, we've seen this movie 5,000 times. And it's so funny that they try to tell us like, even the Republicans are mad and they bring out Chris Christie. It's like, guys, the last thing anybody wants to hear is the man who wrote the art of the deal criticized by the man who wrote the art of the veal. You know what I'm saying? We don't care. part of the field. I love it. And look, you're right. Dealing with Iran isn't like dealing with a normal nation state, too. I mean, this is an ideologically warped set of leaders there. Whoever these leaders are, I have absolutely no idea who's running the country. As you stated earlier, you know the Iranians like no one else in America. So do you trust them here to adhere to this two-week agreement? No, but I do trust.
Trump to hold up his end of the bargain if they don't, which is why I think we're forcing this thing down a productive path regardless. Okay, understand. Like, they don't have a Navy. You know, we really don't know who the declared leader is. I know they say Zayahullah, but he can't respond. And the fact that we were able to make that air rescue over the weekend, 200 miles behind enemy lines, means we really do have an aerial dominance over their country right now. So we're going to get our way. It's just a matter of how stupid they're going to be. Have you ever, I mean, and this is how I see their leadership. Have you ever, like, picked up a bug and you're like, you know what, I'm not going to kill him. I'm going to throw him outside. So you put him in a napkin, you throw him out the door, and then he runs back into your house. You're like, what are you doing, man? That's some of these lunatics that run around. You're like, no, get out of the house, dude. Yeah, that's where we are. If Trump has to step on a bug, he will. Yeah, you can't trust the bug, right? I mean, they did send those cluster bombs into Israel last night. They keep bombing the Gulf states. This is what they do. Let's see what happens here in the next two weeks. If they go back on their word, Jimmy, I mean, you said it. Trump will indeed bomb them back to the Stone Ages. Yeah, he will bomb them back to the Stone Age. which would set them back about three and a half weeks. So that's not nothing. That's not nothing.
