Good afternoon, Milwaukee. This is Jessica McBride of Wisconsin right now.com. And I am filling in for the great Dan O'Donnell. I'm really excited to be here. There's so much going on. I have so much to talk to you about. It is not a slow week. Story of the day, the story of the day, everyone is apparently getting fired. Well, not everyone, but some really big names are on the chopping block today. One nationally. A lot of you probably heard about that news already. The other one, Wisconsin-based. So let's dive right in for a few minutes here and talk about the big one, the big one. And then I have actually a good interview I want to do in the first half hour of the show. Pam Bondi was fired today by Donald Trump. That's the big news of the day. You know, I think every time I come on the show, something really big happens right before the show, I kind of luck out in that way. I think one time when I filled in for Dan, Hannah Dugan got arrested and frog marched out of the Milwaukee County Courthouse. So it kind of makes my job easy, sitting here in the talk show host seat. Pam Bondi fired. Now, I was joking to someone off the air before I came on here that it's not going to take me an hour to talk about why Pam Bondi was fired today because she didn't do anything. She didn't do anything. Actually, she did some negative things. If that's a thing, if not doing something is a thing, then she did bad things. I can't think of a single thing that Pam Bondi did, Attorney General Pam Bondi did, that I thought was great. Not one. I just my producer in there. Can you think of one thing that Pam Bondi did? That was great. Yeah, he took two seconds to say not offhand. I actually might challenge people to come up with anything in the second half of the show. We'll see how much time I have. So obviously, the prevailing narrative would be that she didn't handle the Epstein file release well. That's one thing, of course. And I'm old enough to remember, as are all of you, Pam Bondi, stating,
that the files were sitting on my desk right now for review. That was the quote. They're sitting on my desk right now to review. Now, as with all the ice stuff and Christyome, when it comes to the Epstein files and Pam Bondi, you sort of have to sort out the unfair, false. you know, out to get Trump liberal media narrative on those topics from, you know, what Kristi Noem did or didn't do, and, you know, and from what Pam Bondi did or didn't do, right? And so I don't think the elite liberal media narrative on the Epstein files was a complete hoax. I think they're trying to capitalize on it. I think they're being unfair to Trump when it comes to the reporting on the Epstein files in a lot of ways. We could spend an hour on that. I'm not going to. But I'm also not going to pretend that Pam Bondi handled those files and the release situation perfectly. She didn't. She didn't. And I don't like it. Kind of the same thing with Kristi Noem. The left-wing narrative against ICE is so incredibly dishonest. It's really a despicably dishonest narrative. That being said, Kristi Noem really botched a lot of the PR around what was going on in Minnesota. And as a result, she harmed Donald Trump's narrative on immigration. You know, by sort of losing control of that narrative. They put out too much information that didn't end up being exactly true and things like that. And I didn't like that either. And so it goes with Pam Bondi and the Epstein files. There is a report. Now, this is coming out of the Daily Mail. I'm going to stipulate right out of the gate. That's a British tabloid. We all know what the Daily Mail is. I think they do actually some good reporting, and a lot of what they do is aggregation. And I've also seen them be really wrong on a couple things. So it's a tabloid. That being said, I mean, they did just break the... Kristi Noem. I don't even want to go there on this one. Husband shoving, allegedly shoving balloons down his shirt story. But anyway, they're saying that Pam Bondi allegedly begged Donald Trump not to fire her and that Trump wasn't. only upset about the PR mishandling of the Epstein files, but was also upset that supposedly, allegedly, again, consider the source daily mail, that she was accused of tipping off this Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell. That's a mouthful. It's like a tongue twister to say his name. Anyway, tipping him off about the FBI's efforts.
to release documents related to his relationship with the Chinese spy. We all remember that story. And he's in this big, you know, legal battle with the FBI right now trying to block release of these documents. And there's this allegation that Trump believes that Pam Bondi tipped him off about the FBI's pending release of those documents. And there's a third narrative here that Donald Trump was upset by the stalled investigation. into whether former CIA director John Brennan, now he's a buffoon, if there ever was one, one of the least pleasant people in public life, that he, you know, he's under investigation into, you know, accusations that he made false statements to Congress. This goes back to that ridiculous intelligence assessment into the Russian hoax. And this week on Wednesday, Pam Bondi apparently summoned the head prosecutor in Miami, who's over this probe and will ultimately decide whether to file charges at a local level in the U.S. Attorney's Office, though, of course. And she summoned him to her office to D.C. on Wednesday, and this is being depicted as a possible attempt to ward off being terminated by Donald Trump. Now, Donald Trump, let me stipulate something. I voted for the man every time he was on the ballot, okay? I'm kind of proud of that because a lot of my cohorts in Wisconsin back in 2016 in the primary, a lot of people I respect very much, they were on the Ted Cruz train, and I voted for Trump even then. So I respect Donald Trump in a lot of ways. I really like a lot of his policies. That being said, I wish he would get some of these hires. Correct, right? I mean, you wouldn't have to fire so many people if you didn't hire bad people. And the amount of turnover in both of his administrations of people, frankly, who I thought were going to be really good on the front end, too, like James Mattis or Rex Tillerson and all of these people from the first administration, you know, they were, you know, are not. were fired at sort of warped speed. I know that's what Donald Trump does. Like, I'm old enough to remember The Apprentice. But I don't think the amount of turnover, you know, and his leadership ranks is a good thing. I don't think that's a good thing. I'd like to see him kind of get it right, you know.
out of the gate. That being said, I'm not, I'm not just pleased that Pam Bondi is gone, because as I said, when I started this segment, I don't think she really did anything that I can even mention that I actually liked. The other person, because I had sort of mentioned, there's a second firing situation going on. That one I'm going to tell you about after I do the interview I have lined up for you. So I'm going to tell you about the Wisconsin situation in the second half of this first hour of the show. What I want to do right now, though, is I want to switch gears, and I want to go to state rep. Barbara Dietrich. She is the rep in my backyard out there in the Oconom Walk area. Representative Dietrich, thank you for joining me on the show. Well, thanks for having me. Yes, thank you so much. So I asked you to come on for what I think is a really important reason. And that is, I want to educate the listening audience, the public really, on. Tony Evers veto rampage. Okay, so he's been on this, as you know, this rampage of vetoes for about a week and a half, I would say. And there were some really, really disturbing vetoes that came down the other day. And they deal with... Let me, we want to strip the euphemisms away. So really what they deal with is protecting youth, I would say. It's not being painted that way. And so I asked Representative Dietrich to come on so we can go through these bills because she was an author and really leading the charge on these efforts and educate people about what Evers actually did. So let me read first the headline in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on some of these vetoes. The Journal Sentinel wrote, Tony Evers vetoes bills restricting gender care and transgender athletes, okay? Now, I'm a person who believes language really matters. Who controls language? Controls culture. And who controls culture, controls politics. And who controls politics? all of our futures. And I think one of the reasons that Jim Pvovarchik and I created Wisconsin right now.com is to take the language back on issues like this. And the left for so long, aided and abetted by their allies in the liberal media, they have referred to boys and girls sports, pronoun issues. transgender mutilation surgeries of minors using these euphemisms like gender care, you know, gender affirming care, et cetera. All right. So Representative Dietrich, let's go through these bills. Let's start there one by one. And I was hoping you could tell me what they actually would have done. So let's start with AB 100102. Can you tell me about those bills?
I sure can. I've been fighting that battle for seven years. And really before anybody heard of names like Riley Gaines, which has, you know, has become a name that's been pretty widely known in the media. So they would have protected our girls in both K through 12 and collegiate sports. And not only just performance, but also the locker rooms. When I first introduced these bills, I was laughed at and told I was creating a solution in search of a problem. Now we actually have females who have been disabled, being injured by biological males. Peyton McNabb has been permanently disabled, competing in high school volleyball. Having a volleyball spiked at her, she was supposed to, she actually had a scholarship to go on to collegiate volleyball, but was disabled. Had her vision ruined and has headaches and so forth and mobility issues. She was at one of the Trump speeches. and has been permanently injured by that, by being forced to compete against biological male and a volleyball team competing against her. And, you know, I mean, this is the sort of thing we're dealing with. And Tony Evers acts like, you know, the biological male she was forced to compete against is the victim. and all cloaked in the language of, as you said, trans rights, you know. This is about protecting youth. That's what this, if we're going to take the language back. And it's also about protecting girls and women's equality. You know, where are the feminists on this? I mean, I learned so much playing high school volleyball, playing high school softball. You know, I think I learned almost every skill I use in the business world, you know, on the high school volleyball court. And, you know, I want girls and women's spaces. protected. Well, exactly. I will tell you Paula Scanlon, who's a national figure, she was actually on the team that...
the male, I'm blanking out who Riley Gaines lost her medal too. Leah Thomas. Yeah, Leah Thomas, who's really Will Thomas. She, Paula Scanlan was actually on the same team as Will Thomas. And Paula Scanlan actually was a sexual assault victim. So imagine having to share a locker room and get naked in the same locker room with Will Thomas, who was walking around that locker room, naked, fully intact male. I mean, that's traumatizing. So we actually have a gubernatorial candidate right now, who is one of our senators that was all you, rah-rah cheering that Tony Evers vetoed these bills. Francesca Hong, you're referring to her? No. Calderoy's. Both of them, actually. We're both of them were applauding. Yes. Yes. And so, I mean, this is what we're up against in the elections this fall. It's insane. And I will tell you, most Wisconsinites are not on the same page. um with this i we've surveyed this over and over and over and over again and i will tell you Tony Evers likes to say the will of the people is the law of the land except when it comes to this so so i then he goes against the goat right right right you're the kid what happened to that you're the kid but you know to heck with girls you know, trying to play in a fair athletic space. Okay, if you can hold on, Representative Dietrich, we have a couple other bills to go through. I want to take a quick break. And then we come back, we're going to keep going through what Tony Evers actually did. If you're someone who's tracking your sleep, your steps, and your macros, then you already know that what you eat is kind of everything. You should also know that Sprouts Farmer's Market can help make eating for longevity easier. Sprouts has all the high-quality, nutrient-dense, organic foods and cutting-edge supplements you need. An in-store wellness expert to help you find exactly what you need. So whether you're after longevity or on any other health journey, it's easier at Sprout's Farmers Market. Welcome back to the Dan O'Donnell Show, Jessica McBride, Wisconsin right now.com sitting in for Dan, and I am speaking with State Representative Barb Dietrich. She is one of my favorite legislators. She quietly gets a lot done, you know, not bombastic, not a flamethrower, just to sort of constantly...
quietly getting a lot done. So Representative Dietrich, we are going through Tony Evers' crazy, horrific vetoes, some of them anyway, and trying to strip back the euphemisms for people. So let's move on to the third one, which is AB 103. This was a parents' rights bill. Of course, you wouldn't know that from the liberal media who are painting these as bills that restrict the rights of transgender people and restrict gender care. All right. What did AB 103 actually do? So this kind of cracks me up because, you know, with all these bills, you know, we parents are responsible for our children, are we not? These things are done often behind our backs, okay? So AB 103 was bill that myself and Senator Andre Jacques introduced that would simply require a school to have a policy in place when a student wanted to have their name. and pronoun be changed in school. And I mean, this was the end of the world to our friends on the other team, if you will. And, you know, I just, to me, I will tell you, ever since, you know, COVID-19, the good thing about that whole situation was it really exposed. to parents that there were things going on in the schools that they really didn't know about. And since that time, I've really worked tirelessly to really recreate that three-legged stool where schools, parents, and students are working together as a team again. And this would be one good case of that, where, you know, okay, To my mind, a lot of this transgender stuff that's going on is a mental health issue. And if a student is wanting to do this and not wanting a parent to know about it, you know, we've got to be having conversations here together, okay? You don't sneak around behind a parent's back and call one name at home and a different name at school. We need to be sitting down school, parent, and student together and having a conversation. And this is really what AB 103. would have done it would have required the school board to adopt a policy and where the parent would be would be notified here and let's get working as a team together but you know really again like you said this this language
conflates the situation and calls it anti-trans. No, that's not what it does. It creates a policy where we have the school working together with the parents. Well, it empowers the parent to be the parent. Yes. It empowers the parent to be the parent. It enshrines, you know, parental rights. It simply prevented school districts from sneaking around behind the parents' backs and acting like they're the parent, which they're not. This is common sense. I think this is, like you indicated before we went to the break, this is a huge crossover issue. This has got to be an 85%, 90% issue on the side of conservatives when people hear what it actually does. And that's why I think it's so important to take this time. Now, if you want bills like... this one or the one we talked about, you know, banning boys from girls' sports and locker rooms. If you want bills like this to pass, then, you know, Tom Tiffany's on the ballot in November, and he did put out a statement calling Ivers vetoes crazy. He said, how crazy is this to veto something like this? All right, so let's move on to the next one. Before you move on, I also want to point out, Jessica, that this is... This particular bill is something that's already been settled by the U.S. Supreme Court. So, you know, what is Wisconsin's governor doing here? So this tells you how deranged this is. Yeah, and he's not alone because, as you know, you indicated before the break as well, there were two Democratic candidates for governor, Calderoy's and Francesca Hong, who came out and they applauded these vetoes. And the other candidates were absolutely stone-cold silent. Meanwhile, you had Sarah Rodriguez and Missy Hughes, as are other Democratic candidates for governor, who took the time to applaud the crazy no-king's protest. but they were absolutely silent on this. You had Mandela Barnes. I looked on his ex-page when these vetoes came down, and he was hawking his merch, okay? But he couldn't be bothered to release a single statement condemning these vetoes. Why not? Because obviously they're for these vetoes, but they know it's not a popular stance. So a lot of them are just cowards, and they just stayed silent and wrote about other things. All right, moving on to the other one, A.B. 104. This is a really big deal. This dealt with the surgeries for minors. You can't tell us about that one. So actually, AB 104 would also is really chemical. any chemical castration of a minor. It would not allow anything of that sort. And, you know, I mean, these are kids.
people, we now know that it's false and now the medical professionals have come out and said, yeah, no, we probably should hold off on this sort of thing for minors. You know, It's really interesting how the medical profession has changed on this drastically. Really statistics show that a lot of these use. will, by the time they reach their early 20s with the gender dysphoria, will maybe decide, you know, maybe they are same-sex attracted. But they won't. And a lot of these kids, I will point out, are on the autism spectrum. So they're making up, to make up permanent decision like this when they're a minor, this is, you know. I really applaud Representative Allen for spearheading this, and this again, very disturbing that this was vetoed. And there was one relating to surgeries as well, correct? Well, the final one was also would have given rights to have legal cause. to sue a doctor when there was medical harm. When you look at, it's really kind of gruesome when you look at some of these gender transition surgeries. And a lot of these people that go through the surgical transition have severe medical problems. for years and years and years afterwards. Infections for years and years afterwards. I mean, it's really sold to people as a, you know, that they're going to be so happy after they do this. And sadly, it doesn't solve the problems that it's sold to them as solving. and leads to a lot of heartbreaks for people and a lot of medical problems. And this would have given them cause of action to sue the doctors when they have these medical problems. And he vetoed that as well. So who really cares about these people? Right. And when I think of these issues relating to minors and pumping medications in them and irreversible hormone therapy and, you know, surgeries and all of this kind of thing, I think about how undeveloped the brains are of people even under, you know, even under, say, 25. And it's interesting to me that in criminal court, this is recognized. Like the left, they're always arguing, for example, that people who are 17 who commit heinous
crimes should not be charged as adults because their brains are unformed and all of this. And yet when it comes to a mutilation surgery when you're 15 or 16, They're all in for that. And I think it's atrocious. And I applaud the legislature for taking a stand on this. And you as well, I have to go to another break. But thank you for coming on the program and going through these bills with me and telling the public what they actually would have done. Stay with me. I'll be right back. Welcome back to the show, Jessica McBride, sitting in for Dan O'Donnell. Man. Tony Evers vetoes have been absolutely horrific. And we just went through five of them. There are so many. I could take the whole show going through Tony Evers, horrific vetoes. And it certainly makes the case for Tom Tiffany, some common sense, please, in the governor's office. I mean, here's another example. Here's another example. He vetoed a bill. that would have mandated that child welfare officials, social workers, right, and that you're working for the county and the state and everything, refer all cases of threatened or suspected child abuse to police. I want you to wrap your heads around that one. Who gets that on their desk as governor and says, oh, yeah, I'm not for that. I'm not for making sure that child welfare officials working for government tell the police when they get an accusation of suspected child abuse and then turns around and tries to say with a straight face that he was for kids, the year of the kid. He also vetoed a bill that would have toughened penalties on drug dealers. who deal very serious drugs like heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl around homeless shelters. Just unbelievable series of vetoes. We've written about a number of them at Wisconsin right now.com. Okay, so I want to switch it up and lighten it up for a minute here. We've got so much bad stuff to talk about. We always do, sorry. But I've got some funny audio for you, and it just underscores how ridiculous, how absolutely ridiculous the left is. So I want to start with a clip of a man who is at one of these crazy no kings protests. And... He's talking about how men have now started wearing red lipstick to protest Donald Trump.
Hello, it's the master. The reason I have red lipstick on is because I'm at the demonstration in Traverse City. There are thousands of us. And red lipstick I was informed last night by my friend Jen was a form of resistance when Hitler was trying to take over the world. He didn't like women wearing red lipstick. So I've decided red lipstick. Everybody put on red lipstick to show resistance against you know who. Be kind to yourself, be kind to others over and out. My goodness, I don't even know where to start with them. That's my producer. Are you going to start wearing red lipstick? Oh, he said he never stopped. No, he's just kidding. No, you would not look good in red lipstick. Please do not wear red lipstick. What? Oh, yeah, he liked the James Brown music, I think, in the background. Like, what has gone, what is going on in society? Have people gone absolutely mad? And you know what? I would argue it's all on the left, but it's, unfortunately, it's not all on the left. And, like, I did sort of mention this briefly, and I'm only going to mention it briefly again, because I just don't want to pile on on the topic. But Kristi Noem's husband is allegedly shoving balloons down his spandex. yoga shirt? Like, what? What is this? What is happening in society? Like, I saw that story, and it started on Daily Mail, so you wonder again, like, is this true or not? I almost spit out my coffee. I almost spit out my coffee. I actually feel sorry for Christina. She's not the one shoveling balloons down her shirt. Her daughters and her, they're victims of that. Men wearing red lipstick, no, please, no. You know what? Liberal women can have the red lipstick wearing men. They can have the men with the man bonds. They can have these metrosexual men. conservative women will take all of the nice, conservative, um, Trump voting, blue collar guys, masculine guys, the cowboys of the world. Okay, well, we'll take all of them because the liberal women apparently don't want these conservative men, right? Like they're dumping men because they're masculine or they voted for Trump. And then I'm saying, And I'm sure there's a lot of conservative women out there who are with me on this. Fine. More good conservative men for the rest of us, they can have the lipstick wearing men or the men who shove balloons down their shirts or whatever. Okay. But lest you think the crazy liberal men. are just these average guys that show up at no king's protests. A lot of them are probably being dragged there, by the way, by their crazed wives. I think a lot of those men that get dragged to the no king's protest by their crazy liberal wives secretly vote for Trump. That's what I think. And they just go to these things.
because they can't think of a way to get out of it and keep the peace. So they tag along, and then they secretly vote for Trump. But anyway, lest you think it's just these average guys, I have an entertaining clip of Gavin Newsom, who a lot of people think will be the frontrunner for, you know, the Democrats for president down the road. Let's listen to an absolute Kamala Harris-ask word salad. from Gavin Newsom the other day, and I challenge you to try to translate or interpret at all what this man is saying. This is the quality of the Democrats today, ladies and gentlemen. This is next level, man. This is one of the most interesting places I've ever been here. ADHD Avenue. I mean, everything about this is, I feel like I'm home. You know, dyslexics that are surrounded by, you know, these special folks, particularly the young folks there. So I'm grateful. I'm also weird. Sean, you know, forgive me, you know, this is embarrassing. I can turn all that off.
Just because all the noise, you know, that we just need to turn off. And this is, this is, listen to this. This is it, man, this is it. You want to fix all this stuff? This is it. Listen to these guys, you know. We all just sitting there yelling and screaming at each other. Everybody's getting each other's throats and trying to tear everybody down and, you know, how are we going to get out of this? This is it. You heard these guys. What? was that? Like, what was that? Like, I will give anyone my paycheck who can interpret what the bleep Gavin Newsom was actually saying there. Did you catch the line where you said, I'm weird, and then trailed off? You know, whoever runs against him for president someday, because that'll happen, right? Be Marco Rubio or JD Vance, probably JD Vance, maybe Marco Rubio. Just clip out that little piece. I'm weird and run it over. over getting in an ad okay back to serious stuff so i had teased at the top of the hour that there was also a wisconsin firing going on and so the last couple minutes i have here in this hour i want to tell you about that um j rothman u w system, well, I guess it used to be called the UW system. It's now the universities of Wisconsin. I can't switch. I'm just going to keep calling it the UW system. I don't know why they changed the name in the first place. But he's the president of it. And it came out today in the Associated Press that he is saying that the Board of Regents told him to resign or be fired. And he responded, no. Like, no, I'm not going to resign in lieu of being fired because you haven't given me a reason for this. So the non-transparent Board of Regents is completely silent on this. Their spokesperson said something like they're having discussions about their future. And they've provided no reason for this. Now, I always have to stipulate because I do work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee that my positions, my opinions are always representative only of myself and not of the institution where I work. What I will say about Jay Rothman, I mean, first of all, it's like hard to weigh in when we don't know why they want to fire him. What I would say is the man obviously deserves to know the reasons. It's always suspicious. But people want to fire someone and they won't say why. I mean, that's obviously very suspicious. I will also point out that these are Evers appointees. They dominate the Board of Regents that controls the UW, which again goes back to the overarching point of the hour, which is, you know, you don't like some of the stuff they do, you know, elect Tom Tiffany in November, and that's obviously your choice.
Whether to do that or not, but the governor does so many things. He remakes the judiciary. He remakes DA's offices through appointments, and he remakes the UW through appointments to the Board of Regents. I will say Jay Rothman, I've heard from various legislators in my own take on him. It's kind of a mixed bag. Like he's done some things. I thought, well, I don't really like that. But he's done other things I sort of liked. One thing he did. that I did like is he took a stand for really honestly free speech, but against using the university's institutional power to weigh in on politicized topics. So, for example, you may remember that UW Milwaukee outrageously, in my opinion, put out a statement calling for a ceasefire in Israel and Gaza. And it's just... not an appropriate use of institutional power to do that. That happened when the encampments were going on, which the university, in my opinion, also outrageously did nothing about for too long. So Rothman took a stand on that, and he really put his foot down, and he tried to clean up that kind of thing, and so we're not going to have universities put out statements like that anymore. And so I liked that. I will tell you, I think he was better than some of the leftists they had in the past. He was kind of of the Tommy Thompson mold, though, where there was some stuff he did that I liked, and there were other things. you know, he, you know, I wished he had taken a stronger stand on, or I felt like he came down on the wrong side of. And I think that's because he came out of the business world, and that part's good, but then he ran, you know, head on into the Evers appointees who control the Board of Regents. And it's sort of an untenable position, and so then he's trying to navigate all this. So I liked some things. I didn't like others, and I'm going to kind of wait and see what the reasons are here, but I 100% believe that. Jay Rothman has a right to know what they are, and I think the public does too. All right. Stay tuned. Got to take a break.

Good afternoon, Milwaukee. This is Jessica McBride of Wisconsin right now.com filling in for Dan O'Donnell. Welcome to the show if you're just joining us. So I want to dive right into a breaking story that's all over the news in Wisconsin and nationally. It's breaking nationally. And this man, Sala Sarsur, he is the president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee. And, you know, if you go on any TV news site in Milwaukee, go in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. And like I said, it's spreading nationally. You see these huge stories about the fact that he was detained by ICE. He is in ICE custody. And predictably, predictably. Even though they know very little, frankly, about what the government has against Mr. Saar, the left, they are lining up. Liberal officials are lining up in outrage over this immediately. Instinctual outrage. Over the top. Outrage. Now, the media. The media. are acting as stenographers of outraged liberal politicians. Isn't it funny how that works? Being a stenographer is not being a journalist. What I mean by that? Simply copying and pasting the press release of Chris Larson or Gwen Moore or Mandela Barnes is not being... a journalist. So I'm going to say right out of the gate, the media here, the Milwaukee media are being very negligent, honestly, in how they're covering this story. On the other hand, on the other hand, I don't think ICE is doing a great job either when it comes to the initial public relations here. This is a man who has apparently been in this country for 32 years. He owns a bunch of furniture stores in the Milwaukee area. Like I said, he's president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee as a bunch of kids. The mosque claims that he's a lawful legal resident. That's how they described it. They say he's a legal resident.
So this is the kind of case, frankly, that if I were advising ICE, I would say, you need to get out front on this kind of a detention, right? Okay, so it's predictable what the liberal media will do in response to this. They're going to turn him into the quintessential Maryland man, right? I mean, I guess in this case, Wisconsin man, father of six, furniture store owner, etc. You're ICE. You've detained the man. He's apparently in custody in Indiana or something like that. He was apparently pulled over and taken into custody by a bunch of agents. Make the case to the public. Like put out your narrative. And I find it frustrating that they're not. Because in fairness then to the liberal media, they're being stenographers because they're not getting ISIS side. And I understand the frustration that ICE has, you know, because their side gets twisted all the time by the elite media. But. You know, as a journalist, what are you supposed to do? You're not getting ICE aside. Where do you go to get that? Okay. So I wrote ICE PR. I don't sugarcoat things. So I'm going to be really blunt with you all and say when I used to write ICE PR during the Biden administration, believe it or not. They responded within 24 hours. I guess it was the only thing that they managed to do. Meanwhile, I guess they weren't busy because they were letting every illegal immigrant flood into the country at that point in time. I'm only exaggerating slightly with that hyperbole. So I guess they had more time on their hands to respond to reporters like me, but I would write them and ask them a basic question about a case. In fairness, they'd get back to me really fast within 24 hours. I can never get a response on anything from ICE PR these days. And it's frustrating. So I wrote them and said, what's your side? Like, what case do you have against this man? I... I am wise enough and old enough to know that there is more to the story than I'm being told by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Islamic Society of Milwaukee and Chris Larson, okay? You know? And frankly, I found out more about this guy from a simple deep dive Google search. which I'll talk to you about in a minute, then I read in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Funny how that works, too, okay? But I'd like to hear from ICE. I'd like to hear from ICE, and they're not talking. So there is that.
What I want to tell you, though, that I learned from a very simple, again, Google search. Okay, so in one of the stories it said that this man, Salazar Sur, is on the board. He was a board member of a group called American Muslims for Palestine. So a very credible news story said he was a board member, and I found other documentation of that. So let me take a few minutes to tell you what the Milwaukee media are not, which is the background of this group American Muslims for Palestine that this man is allegedly a board member of. First of all, a Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, we all know he's a conservative, he said in an amicus brief, that this organization had declared it was part of something called unity intifada under Hamas's unified command, that's in quotes, unified command after October 7th. Now, the group denies it supports Hamas, of course, you know, it denies all of this kind of stuff, but... There's more American Muslims for Palestine. In 2024, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability launched an investigation into the group. It's called AMP, shorthand, we can say AMP, into Amps ties to Hamas, which, of course, we all know this, is a U.S. designated foreign terrorist organization. A critics also allege that AMP is a successor to the Islamic Association of Palestine and is tied allegedly to the Holy Land Foundation. Both were shut down for allegedly funding Hamas. There's more. The Virginia Attorney General investigated AMP for benefiting or providing support, allegedly, to terrorist organizations. The group is involved in civil lawsuits, accusing it of providing support to Hamas, which again it denies. It was described in one document that there's a resistance narrative put forth by this organization, allegedly involved in anti-Israel protests. and all of that kind of rhetoric and the demonstrations. AMP responds, no, we're funded by U.S. donations. We're not linked to Hamas. We're just doing pro-Palestinian human rights activism. You all know the story. I found this in a few minutes simply by Googling the name of the organization that this man is on the board of. I think that is relevant information. Now, do I know if his position with this organization, his ties to this organization, his alleged ties we can say, do I know that that is the reason that ICE is trying to kick him out of the country or has detained him? No, I do not know that because as I stated a few minutes ago, ICE is not talking. They're not giving us their side.
But I think it's important if you're a news reporter and you're reporting this man's on the board of the American Muslims for Palestine that you take a minute and figure out what is that group and what has it been accused of the past of doing and give us sort of a broader understanding of what this man is linked to. I mean, please, media, can you just stop pasting press releases from Gwen Moore? Is that what journalism is these days? Gwen Moore's press release is now the news story? I mean, come on. Come on. And then it came out, and this, but this is again coming from the mosque executive director. Like, it's coming from... an Islamic leader to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel who is saying, while there was a situation where this man was arrested, but they're saying as a teenager in the West Bank, and that documents filed by ICE or the government are alleging that this arrest, and I guess it was in front of a military tribunal or something. that the government is trying to use that to allege that he provided material support for extremists, which he denies. So there is an arrest that occurred in the West Bank. Even his supporters are acknowledging that. So I have concerns about what, you know, I have concerns about the situation. but not exactly in the direction of, you know, Chris Larson and Mandela Barnes. Now, knowing all of those details I just gave you, let me read to you. Mandela Barnes, frankly, outrageous, rushed to judgment statement about the arrest of Salas Sarsur. You'll remember Mandela Barnes has a habit of rushing to judgment against law enforcement in particular. We all remember his incredibly inciting posts during the Kenosha riots leading up to them, where he rushed to judgment against police in Kenosha in what I thought was a very inciting and frankly dangerous way. And of course, the officer who shot Jacob Blake, we all know this, was eventually exonerated by even the Democratic District Attorney then of Kenosha. And our AWOL attorney general, liberal Josh Kahl, like they couldn't even make the case against the cop. But rather than waiting for all of the facts to come in, Mandela Barnes, then Lieutenant Governor. and his cohort avers, they rushed out, right, and condemned, and the police were mercilely killing people in Kenosha and, you know, black men were being killed and just this inciting, outrageous language. And he's added again. So his headline is Mandela Barnes on the unlawful arrest of Salas or her. So he's already judged this is unlawful, even though we don't even fully know Issaid. But that, oh, we don't need to wait for that, according to Mandela Barnes.
He says it's inexcusable. The arrest of Sala Sarsur is inexcusable. The Trump administration in ICE to hunt on a legal resident in Milwaukee, ripping him away from his wife. Children in the communities lived in for over 32 years without an explanation. Nothing about Trump's rogue police force makes us safer. Oh, really? Nothing? Nothing? Nothing makes us safer. To have ICE rounding up. criminal illegals and getting them out of this country, and I'm not referring to Salasar sur with that statement, okay, even though there is this arrest from when he was a teen. But, you know, what is ICE doing in this country? They are... In many, many cases, they're rounding up criminal illegals and getting them out of this country. And when we come back in a second, I'm going to go on a break in a second, and when we come back from that, I'm going to give you another example that just happened in Wisconsin. But the point is for Mendele Barnes who say nothing, nothing about Trump's, and then he disparages law enforcement. Rogue police force makes us safer. It's just an absolutely... pathetic, outrageous, absolute. That is so easily proven false. But that's who Mandela Barnes is. Well, what's the famous line? I forgot who said it, Maya Angelou or something, who said, when someone tells you who they are the first time, believe them. We know who Mandela Barnes is. So I guess I don't know why I'm even, you know. raging here because we know who this man is. He's proven this time and again. Well, anyway, he went on and he said, this rogue agency is trampling on our rights all to serve as a wannabe dictator. Seriously? This is language from someone who wants to be Wisconsin governor, and we're supposed to take him seriously? He said, I won't stay silent when it happens. I stand with the people of Wisconsin to demand Mr. Sarsur has returned swiftly to his family and ICE is held accountable for their lawless attacks on Wisconsinites. That's really inciting, dangerous rhetoric. I mean, the heightened emotion in those words before we even know 100% why ICE has detained Sarsur. I mean, it's just absolutely... unacceptable, reckless rhetoric from Mandela Barnes, who is almost the Democrat frontrunner, by the way, which is another story. But, I mean, you all know that. The last Marquette poll had a socialist, basically almost a communist, Francesca Hong, in first place. And right... Behind her, Mandela Barnes, who's obviously being, you know, lifted by his lingering name ID from when he lost in the Senate race to Ron Johnson because he was lieutenant governor. And I do know there are some moderate, you know, rational Democrats. They do still exist out there who are having heartburn and reaching for the antacids at the idea of either Hong or Barnes as a Democrat nominee for governor.
Either one would be the best case scenario, frankly, for Tom Tiffany. And this incredibly outrageous and reckless statement put out by Barnes today on this case is another example of why. It's another example of why. So you know what? I'm going to suggest that everybody take a deep breath, calm down, like sit in a circle and hum kumbaya, whatever you do to relax. Take a chill pill, and let's wait for the facts to come in on Salazar before everyone jumps off a collective left-wing cliff. Okay? I've already presented more information on the group he's tied to than you'll read in any of the Milwaukee media. Okay. Done with that rant. It really, I do not like rushes to judgment against law enforcement. And I really do not like the cheap narratives on the left against ICE and the immigration issue. And it's a good time to remind everybody that every single Democrat candidate for governor in Wisconsin doesn't even want ICE to be able to put detainer holds on people accused of very serious violent crimes in Wisconsin jails. They have all taken a position against the detainers. That is how extreme the liberal narratives are in Wisconsin these days on immigration. All right, stay tuned. We'll be right back. So whether you're focused on protein, gut health, or optimizing how you feel day-to-day, it's all there. And here's what no other grocery store can offer. an in-store wellness expert to help you find exactly what you need. So whether you're after longevity or on any other health journey, it's easier at Sprout's Farmer's Market. Welcome back to the show, Jessica McBride here for Dan O'Donnell. So we're going to stick with the topic briefly of illegal immigration. Kind of like to keep like things with, apples, oranges, oranges. So Eric Tony. phenomenally effective, Fondelet County District Attorney running for Attorney General. He announced in a press release, and I have the criminal complaint, that he has criminally charged an illegal immigrant from Nicaragua in a brutal stabbing case in Fondelet County. I think it's really important, by the way, that district attorneys and police chiefs and sheriffs, when there's a heinous crime that happens and they put out a press release on it, that they tell us if they know the person's here legally. Because it is a lot harder as a journalist to find out a person's immigration status than you think.
Now, if there's an ICE detainer hold on them in the jail, and so ICE has found out that they're in the jail, and the sheriff has honored the ICE detainer, which doesn't always happen, especially if it's in Dane County or Milwaukee County. A reporter can file an open records request to get that detainer hold. A few jails, not very many, but a few jails in Wisconsin, they do list if there's a detainer on their online databases where you can search their inmate lists in their jails. That's very helpful. A few district attorneys, a few police chiefs and sheriffs, they'll tell the public and the media, you know, if they know the immigration status. And it's extremely useful. And quite honestly, then it ends up in all the news stories because we established in the previous half hour of the show that... the media in the state are basically stenographers of press releases. Well, you know, the good news there is they will repeat like the press release of, say, and Eric Tony, too. So if there's any district attorney, any police chief, any sheriff listening to this show, please, please tell us in your press releases or your statements on social media or whatever when you make an arrest or a charge. you know, about the person's immigration status. So, District Attorney Tony did that. And so the man's name is Luis Antonio Savia Benevisis. He is now charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, mayhem, aggravated battery, and a dangerous weapon enhancer. And again, I think it is a good time to once again remind everybody what I said a few minutes ago, which is that all of the Democrat candidates for governor, every single last one of them opposes ICE detainers being honored in Wisconsin jails, even when it comes to someone accused of. violent offenses as this man is. That's how extreme the Democrat candidates for governor are. The only one that deviated at all was Sarah Rodriguez, the lieutenant governor, who briefly said in a TV interview she was for detainers when it comes to criminals. I mean, they relate to criminals because they're put on people in jails. And then she walked it back. She got a little bit of criticism and folded like an accordion. you know, a couple hours later, whatever. And so, oh, I didn't mean to say that I'm actually against detaining criminals in jails too. Okay, okay, Sarah. Anyway, the criminal complaint accuses this man, this illegal immigrant, of stabbing his mother, 26...
times. She had three holes. I'm sorry for the graphic nature here, but to understand how bad this was, she had three holes in her intestine from this attack requiring surgery. There was alcohol involved. And what provoked this man? Well, he was told to turn down the music. This so enraged him that he allegedly hit his mother, threw her to the ground, and stabbed her brutally 26 times. Now, Eric Tony said illegal immigration continues to present serious challenges for law enforcement and communities around Wisconsin. with Fondola County recently prosecuting other illegal migrants for human trafficking, sexual assault, and attempted homicide. And I would say good for DA Eric Tony for shedding light on this, because like I said, if he hadn't revealed that angle in his press release, it wouldn't have gotten in any of the stories. And Luis Benavisis, would have been turned into a fondalac man. A fondalac man. By the way, I need to go on a slight tangent here. But where is Attorney General Josh Kahl? Do we have an Attorney General in the state? I mean, I'm at the point where I think we should probably put an Amber alert on Josh Kahl. Actually scratched that. Let's put a silver alert on Josh Kahl. Seriously, is he even running a campaign? Does he exist? I know someone I can't name who deals with him in the public square, and it's a public official who told me that people, even on the Democrat side, they're frustrated with him. They can never find him. He's never around. Then when he goes on Zoom calls, he always keeps his video off, according to this person. And so even Democrats are frustrated with him. And you could see that play out where he briefly flirted with running for governor and then just immediately dropped that because nobody really wanted him to, even though he's the obvious guy to do it. He's the sitting attorney general. I looked at his social media a couple days ago and he hadn't updated his campaign social media since November. It's just weird. And when Eric Tony announced that he was running for Attorney General, Josh Call didn't even say anything. Like, there wasn't even a responding quote. So I'm of the belief we don't have an attorney general. I mean, he's certainly not managing the crime lab. That's falling apart. He's certainly not handling open records requests. I looked up that list, and there was a request pending from 2021. He's supposed to be the top enforcer of state open records laws. It's a sore spot with me because he delayed one of our open records requests at Wisconsin right now for two years almost. I think it was 1.5, to be fair. That's a really ridiculous delay. We know from a key tribal leader that Josh Kahl,
is not staffing narcotics investigators in northern Wisconsin in his office in the northern tier of the state. She said it's costing lives. We have a fentanyl crisis. And there aren't narcotics investigators for DOJ up here. So where is Josh call? I mean... You know, all he does, he pokes his head out of the prairie dog hole to go after Jim Troopus, Donald Trump's lawyer with lawfare, try to destroy his life, and, you know, criminalizing being an attorney with the legal theory. And he pokes his head out now and then to file lawsuits against Trump. So, anyway, all right. When we come back, I'm going to switch it up, and I have another funny sequence of audio for you to kind of lighten up the day. Stay tuned. Welcome back to the Dan O'Donnell show, Jessica McBride here, filling in for Dan. Okay, so as promised, I have some more entertaining audio for you. We absolutely must play the gender equity card audio. I know some of you have seen this already because you're on X, so this was all over X, but some of you probably have not heard this. This is priceless. To set it up, it is a person. a person, from the new Democrat Party of Canada. And they had this convention, whatever, okay, and they gave out cards. They were calling them gender equity cards to people so they could jump in line. Like, you can't make this stuff up. They were giving out cards for gender race. If you were LGBTQ. indigenous, all of these different things. You've got a pink card, you get a yellow card, you could get a green card. Who would be left? I guess white guys, like my producer, he's stuck at the end of the line. But like how do you decide if the LGBTQ indigenous person gets to go in front of the non-binary black person? Who decides that? What if you have three cards? Do you get to go first, do you think? If you have, if you're an LGBTQ indigenous, maybe you're like half indigenous, half black, and your LGBTQ, do you get to go first because you have three cards? Yeah, money. And you know what, where do I get a card? I want a gender card. want my gender card i want to slap that down and go in front of the line no i'm just kidding i would turn down such an equity i don't need an equity card to be listened to okay anyway let's listen to audio clip number one it is super crazy
There's a point of privilege on microphone one, then we'll go to microphone three. Go ahead, delegate. Yes. Hello, I was standing here with my gender equity card before you called on the previous speaker. That's my point of privilege, but I would like to read. I will explain the speaking order, which is fixed that I cannot amend, which is the pro-con rotation. You can move yourself up a line that you're standing in. I am pro, and I was... We went... You went pro-con. We went pro-con. We went pro-con. And my plan was to go con. The speaker at con mic three also has a speaking card. Yesterday, this card was used in an inappropriate matter. And while I understand in Ontario, we know this as equity, even if that, this was also used inappropriate in terms of gender. I want everyone to be mindful that these cards for individuals like myself who identify as a black woman have no value outside of this space. This is a mental health issue, folks. Let's listen to clip number two. There's more. I'm sorry, just real quick, point of personal privilege. I understand there's very little time and for delegates to speak, but early on the mic, it's hard as a racialized and transgender delegate to sometimes use this card and speak up, speak to somebody in front of me in line and ask, hey, this pertains to multiple intersecting parts of my lived experience. I'd like to speak. I was rejected when I talked. And it's frustrating when these are my rights being directed under attack right now in Alberta and that a cisgender woman had spoken over me. And I understand her rights are important too. This pertains to her too, but I don't know. I hope that in the future the federal NDP will also have a broader interpretation of the equity cards for speakers. That's all. Thank you. I will invite delegates to assist me in better using the card by forming a straight... Straight line. Behind the microphone, with a prominently displayed equity card, if I see speakers ahead of you who are not holding a card prominently, it would be wrong of me to guess about their gender identity, and I will come to you. This applies so far, according to your rules, for gender identities other than a dude, but it is open to us to change our rules as we like as we move forward into the bright and golden future. Thank you, friends. Not the dude. They can't have dudes in line. Not the cisgender woman. How dare she speak, you know? How dare she, you know, put down her gender equity card and demand to speak? You can see where this is headed. Give them an inch, you're going to take them out. They're not going to be happy. I don't know how many cards you give out. They are not going to be happy. Because like I said, one group's going to be angry. The other group got in line. So I read one quote on X from somebody that used to be a member of this New Democrat Party of Canada, and they said, we thought this was a party that was focusing on health care and jobs. What happened to that? And as a conservative, I say, the more that leftist parties go down these crazy woke...
mentally ill pathways, the better off it is for people like a Tom Tiffany, right? Okay. I'm going to take a break. We come back. I have some more funny things to tell you about. Stay tuned. So a friend of mine texted me and said, I should give out Jessica cards. It's like the reverse of a gender equity card. I got to think what the Jessica card would allow you to do, though. Get a word in edgewise when I'm around? Jim Peevovarchek and my other friends, my co-editor of Wisconsin right now, likes to say that I like to talk. So I think the Jessica card would let people get a word in edgewise. So apparently there's a tornado watch for southeastern Wisconsin, including Dane and Columbia counties until 8 p.m. tornado watch. So everybody be safe out there, driving around, please, and in your homes. So I have two competitors for quotes of the day or of the week. One was delivered by no other than Donald Trump, who is the funniest president that we have ever had. And there's some competition because Ronald Reagan was really funny. But Donald Trump is super, super funny. He called Bruce Springsteen a, quote, dried up prune, end quote. I love that. Donald Trump is like a shark in the sense that he sniffs out the blood in the water and he just finds a person's weakness and just goes right for it like with a harpoon, with a verbal harpoon. And then you can never forget it. Dried up prune. as bruce springsteen whose music i used to like a long time ago went to minneapolis he charged eight hundred dollars and he ranted and raved about the racist reckless and treasonous Trump administration, he's jumped the shark. He's a, as Trump said, a dried up prune. One comment I saw an ax, a person said he's a billionaire charging $800 a ticket or $800 a ticket to hear, or as he said, who wants to hear a billionaire who charges $800 a ticket spewing BS? Like he's a 70-year-old billionaire spearing BS and charging us for it. Thanks a lot. I would tell you, though, that if you research the history of Bruce Springsteen and born in the USA, he is perhaps one of the most historically misunderstood artists that is regarded as one of the... most historically misunderstood songs. People think that born in the USA was a patriotic anthem. It never was. The character in that song was a Vietnam veteran who was basically saying I was born in the USA and I deserve better because I've come home and there's no jobs and everything. So that was never a patriotic anthem.
And then the second option we have here for quote of the week was delivered by former State Senator Dewey Strobel Republican. He said, referring to Chris Taylor, who is running for state Supreme Court, of course, the far left wing Chris Taylor. Well, she, let me back out. She had stated that she's running on American values. And Dewey Strobel responded on acts. He said, seriously, question mark. I served with Chris Taylor in the assembly. And while in the Senate, when we were both on the Joint Finance Committee, and frankly, she was the most obnoxious liberal bomb thrower I encountered during all of my years in state office. She is truly a whack job. Don't buy this BS. By the way, I would note that Chris Taylor was appointed by Tony Evers to be a judge. She is a former left-wing Democrat. legislator. She was the policy director for Planned Parenthood. I mean, I would be remiss if I didn't talk briefly about the state Supreme Court race. You've, I'm sure, heard a lot about it on this radio station. You know what, people, get out and vote. Get out and vote. I voted early the other day in Lacla Bell in Waukesha County. And I always ask the clerk, so how's the turnout going? How's the turnout? And they said, well, it's down. It's down. And that's bad. That's bad for conservatives, conservative candidates to have Wow County turnout be down. What I want to tell you is I want to deliver a very strong message as we close out the hour here, and that is that all is not lost in the state Supreme Court race, and I mean that sincerely. And of course, Chris Taylor just described as truly a whack job by Dewey Strobel is running against Maria Lizar. Maria Lizar is an appellate court judge. She is a former Waukesha County Circuit Judge. She was a prosecutor for the State Department of Justice. She defended Act 10 during the Scott Walker years. There could not possibly be a more qualified candidate for state Supreme Court than Judge Maria Lazar. And the Marquette poll that came out the other day, because there's very little polling on this race, had Taylor at 23%, Lazar at 17, so that's a six-point gap, but 53% people were undecided. 53% of the voters were undecided. This is a winnable race. This is a winnable race for conservatives. This is not last year's race. This is not...
Schimel v. Crawford, that was a different dynamic. That was a snapback election where people were reacting to the Trump election in November. The left wing came out in droves. That was a very nationalized race. You had Elon Musk involved. Honestly, what that ended up doing is driving out liberal voters in absolute droves. You don't have any of that dynamic. I mean, turnout is down across the board. It's down more, though, the early vote total show. more in the wow counties than in say liberal bastions like dain county and so that's ominous for lazar but because turnout is down sort of all over if if conservatives get off their doffs and they go out and they vote on april seventh lazar does have a chance people to pull this off she legitimately does and I'm going to read one more time this quote, Dewey Strobel, underscoring what's at stake here saying, I served with Chris Taylor in the legislature, okay? I know what I'm talking about, and she was, quote, the most obnoxious liberal bomb thrower I encountered during all of my ears in state office. Truly a whack job. Don't buy this BS. Chris Taylor is described as more extremely liberal than Janet Proto Saywitz and Susan Crawford. I want you to wrap your minds around that. She is described when she was in the legislature, she was the most liberal legislator in Wisconsin. Folks, I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. What I am going to tell you to do is please consider getting out to vote. This April 7th election really... matters. And when we come back in the next hour of the show, I have a very interesting guest, and we're going to switch our focus to some of the very important mayoral races in Waukesha County. Stay tuned. So whether you're focused on protein, gut health, or optimizing how you feel day-to-day, it's all there. And here's what no other grocery store can offer, an in-store wellness expert to help you find exactly what you need. So whether you're after longevity or on any other health journey, it's easier at Sprout's Farmer's Market. Good evening, Wisconsin. This is Jessica McBride, filling in for Dan O'Donnell. I am the co-founder of Wisconsin Right Now.com. Please check it out. We do have some voter guides posted there, particular for counties in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. We have a Waukesha County voter guide on Wisconsin Rightnow.com. We have a Washington County, Jefferson County. So we did a number of, you know, sort of county-level.
voter guides. So a friend of mine texted me and said she lives in the town of Delafield and that early voting there is only 8%. Yikes. It's not good folks. As I said in the last hour of the program, conservative judge Maria Lazzar needs conservatives and moderates to get off their sofas. And I get it. You know what? People are demoralized from what happened last year with Schimel and all of that. And, you know, I've fought against that a little bit too. I get that, but it is a different race. It's a completely different dynamic. And it is winnable for Maria Lazzar. I'm getting concerned about the reports of sluggish Wau County turnout that I'm hearing. So I wanted to dive into a couple of the Waukesha County mayoral races. I think they're really important. And, you know, there's not a lot of news coverage about them. And I want to focus on three in particular. And there's other ones I could do. You know what? There's so many local races. That's why, again, I would encourage you to go in Wisconsin right now and check out the voter guides that we did. And I know Dan O'Donnell has his new site as well. The Heartland Post. They have a universal, comprehensive voter guide as well for conservatives. So check out the voter guides. I don't care which one you do. Just pull some of these voter guides up. And you can find out about all these different local. races. There's a lot of school board races I've been getting texts on, a lot of county board races, Aldermanic. There's just, there's so many races that we could talk about, go, you know, review the voter guides. But I'm going to single out the O'Connoeck Mayor's Race. the Brookfield mayor's race and the city of Waukesha mayor's race. And I think I'm going to start with Oconomok because it's a little bit different. I think Brookfield and Waukesha, I can sort of connect some dots for you and what's going on what the left is up to with those two races. I think the Oconomok one's just a little bit different, but I care about it. And I'm going to tell you why. I care about it. I can't vote in it. I don't live in the city of Oconomowoc. But I live in the old town of Oconomowoc, now called Lackle Bell. And so it's in my backyard. And I am going to be a nimbie on this one. Not in my backyard, okay? I am not going to take this sitting doubt. I want conservative mayors in my backyard. I want a conservative mayor in my backyard. Let's put it that way. We have to draw the line. We have to keep drawing the line in the Wau County, Wau County, Waukesha County, Ozaki County, Washington County, and say, you know what? No, we're not going to keep allowing this liberal creep to happen, so to speak. Like, there's liberal creep happening. And we all see it. You can see it in the erosion of the Republican vote totals during the presidential election and everything out here in Waukesha County and the Wau counties.
And I'm going to do my part not to let that happen. So I do think there is a distinct difference between the two candidates for Oconomics and Mayor, and I'm going to tell you about that. So there are two candidates in the race. They are both members of the city council. One is named Karen Spiegelberg, and the other one is named Matt Rosick. I believe that Matt Rosick is by far the more reliably conservative candidate in that race. I am not going to go as far as calling Karen Spiegelberg a Democrat or a far leftist or anything like that. I am going to reserve that title for the liberal candidates running for the city of Waukesha mayor position and the Brookfield one. But in Oconomowoc, I'm going to simply say Matt Rosick is the more reliably conservative candidate. And I have a lot of concerns about Karen Spiegelberg and her candidacy. And those concerns are shared by other conservatives in the area. So Matt Rosick, for example, has been endorsed by Barb. Dietrich, the state representative in that area, Republican, who we heard from in the first hour of the show. He's been endorsed by Paul Farrow, the county executive. He's been endorsed by district attorney Leslie Basie. So basically, and others, Matt Rosick has a long list of very prominent county officials and state officials, Republican, who are endorsing his candidacy. On the other side, Karen Spiegelberg is being pushed by some very left-wing activists in the community, a very liberal. Facebook group. She's clearly the choice of liberals, this liberal cabal, if you will, that exists out there in O'Connwalk, and anyone who's active in politics in O'Connwalk knows exactly what I'm talking about. There is, it's a conservative community, but there is a liberal cabal out there that is very aggressive and active, and they've made it clear in Facebook posts and things that Karen Spiegelberg is their choice. I have some audio. This was flying around social media, but I did obtain. I worked to obtain the original audio file, and so I could verify that she said this, and I reached out to her for comment. I'm not out to get her. I'm not trying to do some gotcha game. I gave her every, you know, ample opportunity to comment. And this was audio in which she stated that she loved the idea of a wheel tax. in the community and again she's she's on the city council saying this now on her side this was six years ago she's trying to claim in the response to me that she now opposes all taxes or tax increases i should say so people can make of that what they want but let's listen to karen spiegelberg uh mayoral candidate in oconnemoc talking about her love
for the idea of a wheel tax. So I love the idea of the wheel tax and I actually brought information on it. Sounds like a new tax to me. I just, I love that idea. I think it's a no-brainer, especially when so many communities are doing it. More tax is good. I mean, would we then have the opportunity to say, well, let's do $25 per vehicle? Planning for more taxes in the future. Does Wisconsin DOT allow you each year to revisit that amount? Can we raise those taxes once a year? Okay, so the sound effects were created by a man named Lou Kowieski, a community activist out there, you know, a former city official. And he posted that on Facebook. I saw it. Like I said, I verified I got the original file. So she was clearly at one point in time in love with the idea of a wheel tax. And I will simply state, you know, I live in Warkaschaikoni. Because I don't want wheel taxes and things like that, right? I mean, if I wanted a wheel tax, I would move to Milwaukee County, where they have a very large one, by the way. So Karen Spiegelberg. Also, we did a story about this for Wisconsin right now. She scolded a local business, a very prominent and very beloved, frankly, local business in the city of Oconomok for daring to post a Matt Roesick sign. And again, Matt Rosick is the reliably conservative candidate in the O'Connellock mayor's race, if you're just joining me. So she said, I think it is important for you in the establishment to know, because she was writing this business, to know that I, let's see, that people have not frequented the business since the big sign for Mr. Rosick was put up. So she actually wrote this business and basically kind of warn them, hey, there's some people that don't want to go to your restaurant because you dared to put up a Matt Rossack sign. To which, you know, some people wrote me who sent me this, and again, I reached out to her for comment and verified this did happen. They said, I guess she's living up to her name. This is kind of a Karen thing to do, isn't it? She then scolded the business and repeated it to me when I asked her for comment. She said, I believe our businesses should do what they do best. Serve all of our citizens and not get involved in partisan politics. Okay, well.
I get, no. It's a free country. They have a First Amendment right. If you're a business in the city of Oconom Walk, you have every right to put a Matt Rossack sign, you know, in your window without being scolded, you know, by Karen Spiegelberg, lectured by... Karen Spiegelberg, if you're a downtown establishment, you probably would care very much who becomes the mayor of Oconomowoc or who's on the city council or whatever. It would matter to your business, and you have a First Amendment right to... you know, to voice support for one candidate over the other. And I just thought it was bizarre, frankly, that she would go to the degree to write them. And in this rant, which I obtained, she asked them to forward it to the managers of the restaurant. Like she wanted this rant forwarded. She spelled managers, M-A-N-G-E-R-S. Kind of like, Karen, put down the keyboard for just a minute. She then accused Matt Rosek, by the way, on the wheel tax audio, she went on Facebook and accused him of using a sound bite that, you know, because Lou Kowieski had this community activist had posted the audio and she said, Matt Rosek is just using a soundbite. To which Lou Kowieski responded, well, it's your voice. Well, Karen, it's your voice. I don't know what to say. You know what? It's also always a red flag when someone tries to run for mayor and they say, I'm nonpartisan, and we shouldn't have partisanship in the mayor's office. And I'm just for good government, this kind of rhetoric. And it's like, okay, kind of a red flag that maybe your values or your philosophies aren't exactly in line with the community you want to serve or you would just say what they are. Like I'm always suspicious when candidates cloak their candidacy in this generic kind of language and like, oh, we don't want to, we can't have partisanship. There's other stuff on her, but that's kind of my take on Oconom Walk. All right. I'm going to take a quick break. When I come back, I want to talk about Brookfield and the city of Waukesha.
Hey, everybody, Jessica McBride here for Dan. So I just promised I want to dive in briefly to the Brookfield and City of Waukesha mayoral races. And I want to connect some dots for you between these. So there's a liberal blogger named Dan Schaefer. If you're on X, you probably know who he is. If you're not, you probably don't. He's kind of the premier liberal blogger in the state. Works for civic media and all this. All right. And he's been just going on and on, and he kind of connects the dots and the motive sometimes of the left, going on and on and on and on about these races in Waukesha County and making it very, very clear that the left is targeting not only these. You know, also some races in O'Clair and Green Bay and Kenoshen, we're seeing everything, but targeting the Brookfield Mayor's race and the City of Waukesha Mayor's races. They want to flip... Those seats for Democrats. Well, actually in Waukesha right now, the outgoing mayor in Tors Kamala Harris. So I guess in that case, they want to keep it for a lefty. But the point is they're making a huge push for these mayoral seats. And what he had written, this liberal blogger, is he said, you know, a generation ago, Democrats running for office in Waukesha County would have been unheard of. It's the longtime base of Republican politics in Wisconsin, but he said, basically, now we have this huge opportunity. And he sketched out why it matters to the left to get Democrats in some of these key mayoral positions in Waukesha County. He said, A 68 of 72 counties in Wisconsin shifted to the right from 2020 to 2024. That's interesting. Actually, I didn't know that data point. That was interesting. He said, except Waukesha County. And it's the third most populous county. So a shift of a few percentage points would be a very big deal statewide. So he basically is saying, and other leftists have said this too, it's not just Schaefer, but they're saying Brookfield and Waukesha, those mayoral seats are big gets for the left. They want a beachhead in Waukesha County in some of these other counties. They're trying to establish a beachhead so that they can continue to erode or help erode the WAL County vote. for Republicans. And it's not just rhetoric. So there's an out-of-state dark money group.
a shadowy group, so to speak, with ties to celebrity Democrats, people like Sally Field and goofballs like that, you know, do ads for this group. It's called the State and Local Election Alliance. And I pulled the campaign finance reports for it. They have funneled over $100,000 into the Brookfield mayor's race. And over $170,000 into the city of Waukesha Mears race. Also, they're trying to play in Green Bay aldermanic races, O'Clair races, Kenosha Racine Alderman, Wausau and Wausa Aldermanic races. And so, again, I would encourage you with the Tosa one, because I know we have a lot of Wawatosa listeners. You know, go pull the Dan O'Donnell's conservative voter guide because he has Milwaukee County in there, and it'll tell you who the conservative candidates are for Tosa Alderman, for school board, things like that. Anyway, because I don't think Wisconsin right now, we haven't done Milwaukee County yet, but I should do that before the election. We did the other Wau County counties. So we did Waukesha, Ozaki, Washington. Anyway, let me break down these races individually. So in the city of Waukesha. You have a leftist candidate by the name of Alicia Halvinsleben. She's an alderman. And if you go on her website for her campaign, it's kind of like Karen Spiegelberg in Oconom Walk where you wouldn't know what she is. Okay? Like it doesn't highlight her Democrat endorsements, which she does have, by the way. She's trying to run as, again, this nonpartisan person if you just go on her campaign website. I'm telling you, she is the far left candidate in this race. To the degree that Alicia Helvinsleben was posting all of this glowing stuff about the No King's protests the other day, she called it an amazing sight. And she was in a photo where there was another person in the group who was holding a sign calling Ice the Gestapo. And Alicia Halvinsleben, City of Waukesha mayoral candidate, was calling all of this an amazing site. She has trashed the GOP, she's trashed Republicans, trash Trump, okay? It is pretty obvious where she stands. She is the hardcore Democrat candidate for the city of Waukesha Mir. On the other side, you have Representative Scott Allen. He is a Republican. He has two master's degrees. Ten years in the State Assembly, a former Waukesha Alderman, a realtor, a small business owner, was in the U.S. Army Reserve, obviously a very qualified, competent conservative candidate, Scott Allen.
Now, Alicia Halvinsleben, the liberal candidate, did go on a liberal podcast and declared that the city of Waukesha mayoral race is a canary in the mine against the Republican Party. And she was on this podcast with this, you know, I think wacko, far-left woman, Kristen Learley, who ran for Congress in the past, who... who is very, very, very, very, very pro-abortion, all this stuff. And Kristen Learly said, everyone thinks they know Waukesha, but they're wrong. This is the first real referendum for November. So I want you to just think about that for a minute, how the left is spinning this race. They believe this to be a huge thing. If they can get Alicia Helvinsleben through over Scott Allen, they think this is the first real referendum. It's a Canary in the Mine for November and Tom Tiffany. They want a beachhead. They want a beachhead. To give you a sense of the erosion of the city of Walker, George W. Bush won it by 21%, Trump by six. Scott Walker by 32% in 2014. Tim Michaels in 2022 by less than 4%. And Susan Crawford won the city of Waukesha, barely, but she did win it in 2025 in the spring election. That is because there's just lower turnout in spring elections. And Democrats, they've mastered the turnout game in the spring. This is an important race if you live in the city of Waukesha. All right, Brookfield Mayor's race. You have the incumbent mayor, he's conservative, Steve Ponto, and a challenger who has been called an unabashed Democrat by the name of Mike Hulquist. And this is just a weird race because you have this hit piece in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the other day. It was this weird story trashing Mayor Ponto's daughter for writing too enthusiastically. I'll say it that way to be kind about him all over social media and his opponents and things like that. Now, I'm not going to defend all her posts and really frankly even go into them. I think that it's harder to be a family member of a candidate sometimes than it is to be the actual candidate. And so I do actually feel empathy for family members because it's just tough. It's really hard to watch your loved one get bashed in the political sphere. And so I haven't read everything she's written, but I thought it was just a weird story. Why are we fixating on Maripanto's daughter writing on Facebook? Who cares? Like, I don't care. This was this sort of hit piece, which originated, you know, frankly, on the ex-page of this liberal blogger Dan Schaefer, who was writing about it for days before the journal Sentinel, of course, you know, coincidentally, certainly not, picked it up. Let me tell you what Holquist said about the Brookfield mayor's race. He said, were he to win? Again, he's the Democrat. It would be a, quote unquote, paradigm shift. And here's this liberal narrative again. He said it would be a canary in a coal mine.
By the way, Steve Ponto is a conservative, but he's been challenged from the right before. He's not some like hardcore guy, but he is certainly more reasonable, rational, and conservative than Mike Holquist, who again has been labeled an unabashed Democrat. To give you an idea again of the erosion of the wow counties, George W. Bush won the city of Brookfield in 2000 by a 40% margin. Trump won Brookfield by 5%. Walker, 45% in 2014, down to 28% in 2018. I do not have time to go on and on about why there's been this erosion in some of these formerly extremely conservative counties. And I will say that Donald Trump figured out a formula to make up for that erosion by cobbling together a lot of the rural areas of the state. And I was talking to Brian Stile the other day who said this axis of Kenosha Racine, that area going more red, also helps counterbalance some of this erosion in the wow. But there is no question that there's been an erosion in the wild counties and that this has made it more challenging for conservatives to win statewide. And there's also no question that there is a clear difference in the Brookfield mayor's race and the city of Waukesha mayor's race between the candidates. So I'm going to say one more time, and then we have to actually go to a very interesting caller. I'll say one more time. The conservative in the city of Brookville mayor's race is Steve Ponto. The Democrat is Mike Alquist. And in the city of Waukesha Mears race, the conservative is representative, Scott Allen. And the Democrat is Alicia Helvinsleben, and she's very far left. And your vote matters. And the turnout is really going to make the difference in those races, I think. Okay. Let's go now to my caller. Oh, actually, my producer prefers that I go to a quick commercial. When we come back, we're going to talk with Congressman Tom Tiffany, so stay tuned. Welcome back to the program, Jessica McBride here, and I have Congressman Tom Tiffany, Republican candidate for Wisconsin Governor on the phone. Congressman Tiffany, thank you for joining me. Great to join you today, Jessica. Yes, and I asked you to come on because I was really happy to see the strong affordability agenda that you've been articulating. And I do think in the last governor's race, I want to cast dispersions on anyone, but I didn't think there was a strong enough of an economic message. And I think you've been doing a number of things that really strike toward an affordability agenda. And so the number one thing I wanted to let you talk about to the listening audience is what you said the other day on emissions. Because I know in this area of the state, people really are sick and tired of these vehicle emissions tests that, you know,
have to go through and then you fail and you have to pay $700 and it's just this ridiculous thing. People can't afford this. So if you could just tell the audience what you came out and said the other day. Yeah. So I've been very familiar with the issue because of the non-attainment zone that has been in place now for like 40 years. when we've been penalized, and this is the big picture, and probably the biggest point, Jessica, is that we are paying for Chicago's pollution. The pollution that comes up from Chicago, we're being penalized for, and this has been going on 1980. One of the biggest costs is to people with older vehicles. And so while this may have been warranted back in 1984, With the advancements in vehicle technology and emissions technology, there really is not a reason to make people get this testing every couple years. And we heard from a gentleman that works for L&M Auto in North Prairie who laid it out very clearly how this is a tax on people who can least afford it. The check engine light comes on, and they have to go in, get that taken care of, and they end up the fixed cost more than the value of the car, and they end up sometimes having to give up their car. And so it really has done great harm, and the science no longer supports it, Jeff. This needs to go away. It's antiquated. Yeah, and you stood there with, and I want to give him a shout out as well with state representative Bob Donovan and other legislators and the head of the Milwaukee County, GOP, Hilario de Leon, as well, and a number of other people, business leaders. And you called for an end to these emissions tests. And can you explain the specific actions that you are taking to try to make that happen? Yeah, so there's a couple things that are going on. We are going to. for a waiver from the Environmental Protection Agency. Lee Zeldin currently is the administrator for the EPA. I have a good relationship with him. We were both in Congress together. And so I'm hoping that perhaps the Trump administration can issue a waiver. I think the other thing is getting together, if elected, with the governors of Indiana and Illinois and say, hey, let's see. Let's work together to get a fix here because we all want to have clean water and in this instance, clean air. Let's work together to make that happen. And that just seems like that would be something reasonable for governors here in the Midwest to work towards and stop this penalty on the people of the state of Wisconsin. And again, it's in seven counties of the state where we have to go through this, you know, emissions thing. And the other topic I wanted to let you weigh in on, and I saw this the other day where you, I believe it was a press conference you held in Wausau, where you are also calling for ending state income taxes on tips and overtime, kind of taking a page from what Trump had said. Can you talk a little bit about that plan?
Yeah, we just rolled that out yesterday. No state income tax on tips and overtime. And it just follows on the federal policy that was put in place that I voted for. That is now the law. And you see during this filing season, there's people that are bringing significantly more money home as a result of not having to pay taxes on tips and overtime. And by the way, it was a big beautiful bill. We also did no taxes on Social Security. And I think it should be extended to the state. The state has plenty of money. We should be rewarding the workers of the state of Wisconsin and allowing them to keep more money in their paychecks. The other topic in the affordability realm that I've seen you weigh in on is the utility rate hikes. And of course, you know, Governor Iver's role in appointing all the people who are hiking utility rates. And there was just another story the other day on more utility rate increases. And all of this stuff adds up, right, and just harms people's quality of life. Can you talk about utility rate increases in your stance on that? Yeah, there needs to be an overhaul of the Public Service Commission. Under Governor Evers, there's over $2 billion worth of rate increases on the people of the state of Wisconsin. And boy, they've been seeing the impact over the last few months. We got reports and saw people's utility bills in February where people paid as much $300 a month more than they did the previous year. So it's clearly a problem. as lowest in the Midwest for utility rates were now the second highest. And that's been driven significantly by Governor Evers Public Service Commission appointees, and they've basically been a rubber stamp. And all you have to do is look at the difference between the Walker years, eight years, when I believe there was about $700 million in increases. We're going to be well over $2 billion in the increases during the Evers that had been on. office. Well, and I think we need to remind people that during those terms, two of your opponents, you know, her running for the Democrat nomination. were part of Evers' team. You know, Sarah Rodriguez, current lieutenant governor, Mandela Barnes, the former lieutenant governor, and they're both vying to be the Democrat who will, you know, run against you in November. And I had noticed, I think it was Mandela Barnes, was trying to sort of make hay with this utility rate increase, too. And I think you had pushed back at him. Wait a minute. You know, you were part of this. Any comment on that? Yeah, well, you notice that we didn't take that lying down. We answer those things when somebody is trying to have it both ways, as Mr. Barnes did. He was the lieutenant governor. When Governor Evers named those public service commission members, they were the rubber stamp that were allowing this $2 billion plus of rate increases.
And so Mandela was right there for him to be critical of me in any way. I think he should look in the mirror. And I was also wondering if you could comment on just the state of your opponents. I will say it's an absolute clown show, just a clown car. I mean, you have Francesca Hong being the Democrat frontrunner, according to the Marquette poll. She's a card-carrying socialist. I mean, any comment on Francesca Hong and what that would do to the state? Well, I mean, think about it. You've got probably three or four people that truly fit the mold of being described as a socialist. And the Democrats have went so far left, and it makes Francesca Hong a legitimate candidate in this race. If this would have been 12 or 20 years ago, people would have said, even Democrats, well, you're crazy, that'll never happen. Well, it's not crazy now. And it's amazing to watch somebody like Mandela Barnes, who came in as basically the leader when he originally announced. He may not be the leader now. Francesca Hong may be the leader of the Democrat field. But the thing that I, you know, the Democrats are going to decide what they're going to do. I'm taking my message to all of the people in the state of Wisconsin. And as you highlighted, we talk about the economy and affordability. We're talking about how we make Wisconsin one of the great states in America once again, because that's what's going to happen in this election. We are going to choose the woke and broke. route of Minnesota and Illinois, or are we going to be one of the great states of America? I believe the good people of Wisconsin can be one of the great states in America, and that's the message we share every day, a vision of hope, opportunity, and prosperity. Well, I think that's a good note to end the interview on Congressman Tiffany. I know you're a very busy man. I appreciate you taking the time out to speak with me and my audience. And keep up the good work. Stay tuned to everyone. We'll come back after a break. If you're someone who's tracking your sleep, your steps, and your macros, then you already know that what you eat is kind of everything. So whether you're after longevity or on any other health journey, it's easier at Sprout's Farmer's Market. Welcome back to the program. So I have one last crazy piece of audio for all of you.
Birthright citizenship. Birthright citizenship. This is this debate in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. And Donald Trump, of course, wants to get rid of birthright citizenship. And so you have Kantanji Ketanji Brown Jackson, who is... I'm just going to say it, like wholly unqualified to be on the U.S. Supreme Court, who made the most nonsensical argument that's perhaps ever come out of the mouth of a Supreme Court justice in an effort to, I guess, poke holes in the Trump administration's arguments to get rid of birthright citizenship. She's defending it in a sense. Here is what she said. I was thinking about this, and I think they said. There are various sources that say this. That you can have, you obviously have permanent allegiance based on being born in whatever country you're from. That's what everybody recognizes. But you also have local allegiance when you are on the soil of this other sovereign. And I was thinking, you know, I, U.S. citizen, am visiting Japan. And what it means is that, you know, if I steal someone's wallet in Japan, the Japanese authorities tend arrest me and prosecute me. It's allegiance meaning can they control you as a matter of law. I can also rely on them if my wallet is stolen to, you know, under Japanese law, go and prosecute the person who has stolen it. So there's this relationship. based on, even though I'm a temporary traveler, I'm just on vacation in Japan, I'm still locally owing allegiance in that sense. Well, yeah, they can arrest you and put you in jail. But what does that have to do with whether or not your kids should get automatic citizenship of the country that you stole the wallet in? Like, what is she even talking about? So if I go to France and I steal a wallet, which I'm not going to do, okay, I'd go to France, but I wouldn't steal the wallet. Does that make me... a French citizen? Or does that demonstrate I have allegiance to France? And if I have a baby in France, the baby should automatically be French? Like, what is she talking about? You know, what's terrifying about Ketanji Brown Jackson is that this is not an anomaly. This is not just like one bad moment she had. She is apparently routinely, she's even, you know, even splitting with the left wing justices. This is how. out there she is. So there was this ruling, of course, this week, 8 to 1, that Colorado's ban on talk therapy violated the First Amendment. Six conservatives agreed. Both liberal justices agreed, but not Jackson. She wrote a 35-page dissent.
Trying to explain why everyone including Elena Kagan and, you know, why they're wrong. And she's right. She read it aloud from the bench. It's just unbelievable. Apparently, three separate eight to one rulings across three years. She is the lone dissenter every time. Amy Coney Barrett wrote in the Colorado case that Jackson, quote, decries an imperial executive while embracing an imperial judiciary. It's really terrifying. Apparently, she talks the most, too. Somebody added up all the words that the justices speak. during oral arguments. And per oral argument, she spoke the most, I assume one thing, 1,350 words, whereas the next closest justice was 900 words. And of course you have Clarence Thomas, I think, on the opposite spectrum. That is a statement, if there never was one, that just speaking a lot is not necessarily correlated with intelligence. It's not necessarily correlated with intelligence. By the way, in the last minute or so that I have here, I just kind of want to give a shout out to NASA and the Artemis astronauts. I don't really have time to get into that, but... I really love the space travel stuff. I think it's a rare moment of unity in a very divided country. I love the patriotism. We all come together. We root for these astronauts. It's a monumental technological achievement and the bravery. I mean, I wouldn't do it. So if I was offered the ability, Jessica, you can go into space. I would say, no, thank you. I would be terrified to do that. So just the bravery it takes to get in that. you know, a machine and go around the moon. So astronauts have not gone to the moon. There hasn't been a lunar mission since, with, you know, a man crew since Apollo 17 in 1972. And Gene Sernan, he was the commander of Apollo 17. He famously said, because he put foot on the moon, he said, we leave as we came. And God willing as we shall return with peace and hope for all of mankind. And it's astonishing in a way that we haven't been back to the moon. Since 1972, I mean, they're not putting feet on the moon this time, but apparently that's in the works for 2028. The distance between the Earth and the Moon, it's 238,85 miles. That's pretty amazing. What they're going to be doing is using the Moon's gravity to whip the spacecraft back toward the Earth without needing a massive engine.
to burn. This will be a new human distance record. They are going 4,700 miles beyond the far side of the moon. They're going to essentially be orbiting the moon. This is an astonishing feat for humankind, for mankind. It's incredible. And of course, we watch with baited breath, they'll be... splashing back safely, one hopes, in 10 days, in about 10 days. By the way, I want to give one other shout out. I'm a movie buff. Go see that movie with Ryan Gosling, if you like movies and you like space. It's called Hell Mary Project.
