I will explain in just a second. Later on in the three o'clock hour, the federal government just within the last two hours has filed a lawsuit against Wisconsin. over Wisconsin's lawsuit against online prediction markets. We'll dive into that about a half hour from right now. And finally, the FBI's Milwaukee field office says it is aware of a Facebook post by Minnaqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad, lamenting the fact that President Trump was not assassinated Saturday night. If you'll recall, shortly before the Wisconsin Supreme Court election, not of this past April, but in 2025, there was a big push to get Susan Crawford on the court so as to, quote, put two more congressional seats in play in 2026. That was actually the title of an online webinar that Crawford attended by a liberal group hosted for some big money donors, where the express purpose was stated as, let's put this liberal hack on the court so that there will be another vote. by her fellow liberal hacks and her that will strike down Wisconsin's congressional map, just like they had done in late 2023, to gerrymander it in favor of legislative Democrats, and let's gerrymander Republican Congressman Derrick Van Orden and Brian Stile right out of their seats. It was sort of the first inkling of the great redistricting war of 25 and 26 that were in right now. susan crawford of course won that race it was the most expensive judicial election in the history of the united states and shortly after she was sworn in there were two separate lawsuits filed both by left wing legal foundations and attorneys groups, liberal special interests in order to do exactly what it was that Crawford was likely promising to do on that digital webinar before she was elected. Strike down Wisconsin's congressional map and gerrymandering so that there was no chance that Derrick Van Orden or Brian Stile, the Republicans in the two most competitive districts in the state, would be able to win.

because they just would have way too many Democrats in their districts. Two lawsuits were filed, and instead of simply taking the challenges directly, the Wisconsin Supreme Court took the rather unusual step of appointing two separate three judge panels to hear the case. Now, when this was done, You might recall a certain radio host who has something of a legal background saying, hey, this is unconstitutional on its face. In fact, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty also filed a brief in this case saying they can't do this. This is unconstitutional to have lower court judges essentially overturn a prior ruling of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In 2022, of course, Democrats challenged both the legislative maps and challenged the congressional map. The Wisconsin Supreme Court actually sided with alleged conservative Brian Hagadorn joining the three liberals. There was then a conservative majority. Court didn't flip until 2023 when Janet Protisewitz was elected. In 2022, Haggadorn actually sided with the court's three liberals in picking Governor Tony Evers congressional map. That's right. The map that left-wingers have been saying is totally gerrymandered in favor of Republicans was drawn after the 2020 census? by Democrat Governor Tony Evers. So you would have to believe in drawing that map that Governor Evers and his rather Soviet named People's Maps Commission, people appointed by him to usurp the proper constitutional authority of the state legislature and draw congressional and state legislative maps, you would have to believe that Evers and the People's Maps Commission were secret... Republican activists, they were double agents that they were trying to make it so that Republicans could not possibly lose six of Wisconsin's eight house seats. This was, of course, nonsense. But the Supreme Court, the three liberals aided by Brian Hagadorn, picked those maps instead of the map that was drawn by the state legislature. Those maps were in place in the fall election of 2022, the midterm there, the presidential election of 2024, and of course all House seats are up, and they will be at issue again in 26. Shortly after Susan Crawford was sworn in, there were these two challenges filed to the congressional map.

Instead of just allowing this to make its way through the court system, as you would do, the Wisconsin Supreme Court wanted to fast track this case. It didn't, however, want to take a direct appeal. For whatever reason, it delegated the authority to rule on these maps to these two separate three-judge panels. Now, as you could imagine, a court with four liberals on it. And just three conservatives would pick the most liberal circuit court judges that it could find. And that's exactly what it did. Former chairman of a county Democrat party, Evers appointees, all liberal judges, six judges, two, three judge panels. Every judge is more liberal than the last. In late March, one of the two three judge panels. found exactly what I was saying since the start of this case. Quote, as circuit court judges, we conclude that this panel possesses no authority to supersede decisions of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. They dismissed that case. Today, a second circuit court panel said the exact same thing. This panel, it wrote, is not endorsing the current congressional map. Rather, we as circuit court judges do not have the authority to read into a Wisconsin Supreme Court case an analysis that it does not contain. In other words, it is not at... It is not empowered to be able to overturn or to review a Wisconsin Supreme Court decision. Why? Because the Constitution of the state of Wisconsin, just like the Constitution of the United States, casts the Supreme Court as the court of last resort. It is a legal and logical impossibility for any state court, any state judge, to have appellate authority over the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The issue here... is not that this happened because anyone with even a passing familiarity with Wisconsin or the federal constitution could have told you that, but that the Wisconsin Supreme Court's justices thought that they would be able to get away with this at all. Think about this. So untethered from the Wisconsin Constitution and Wisconsin law and basic principles of how the court system is set up are these liberal judges that even the lower court liberals appointed by the Supreme Court, appointed by the liberal hacks. said we can't do this said uh so we're going to need some more guidance from the wisconsin supreme court because what they've asked us to do yeah we can't do it now lest you think that this was a one-off

Lest you think that the right-wing radio host Dan O'Donnell calling these liberal justices hacks, or as I routinely refer to them, hacks in black robes, lest you think that that is overblown, that's hyperbole, that that's unfair, that that's an ad hominem attack, consider this. They were just, within the last year, overturned 9-0 by the United States Supreme Court in a case called Catholic Charities v. Wisconsin Labor and Industrial Review Commission. basically what this was was catholic charities wanted an exemption from wisconsin's unemployment compensation tax under federal law and also the fact that there is a religious exemption to this in both federal and state law The Wisconsin Labor and Review Commission denied the exemption, saying, well, Catholic charities, you don't primarily do religious work. You're doing just general secular charitable work. Wisconsin Supreme Court upheld that decision and forced Catholic charities to pay this tax. Catholic Charities, because this was a First Amendment issue, because this was a federal issue, appealed this case to the United States Supreme Court. It was unanimous, nine nothing, in striking down the state Supreme Court's decision. That means even Ketanji Brown Jackson knew what a bad ruling the Wisconsin Supreme Court made. Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the wise Latina herself. in writing for the majority. There may be hard calls to make in policing the issues at stake in this case, but this is not one of them. As far as legal opinions go, that is a smackdown. That is Sonia Sotomayor, about as liberal as it gets, saying to the equally liberal, but apparently not nearly as educated in the law, Wisconsin Supreme Court, this wasn't even a close case. This court clearly erred. It did not apply the law. It did not apply the First Amendment correctly. We are smacking. them down and smack them down they did.

Now, even circuit court judges, even left-wing circuit court judges in Wisconsin, six of them on two separate panels are both saying, yeah, we don't know what you were thinking in doing this Wisconsin Supreme Court, but we shouldn't have been impaneled to overturn a separate Wisconsin Supreme Court decision, folks. All of this is to say Supreme Court elections matter. We just had one in which a liberal, easily the most political person who has ever won a judicial election to this state's highest court, won by 20 points on explicit promises to... enact everything that Democrats want, regardless of what the law actually says. We had a principled conservative who ran on the idea that we will uphold the rule of law and that she will be a principled judicial conservative. Voters apparently didn't want that. Voters wanted the law be damned. We're going to get whatever result leftists want. When that happens, as it has happened now for two years, the rule of law is not a thing that actually exists. When we talk about the tyranny of the judiciary or the judiciary acting as a super legislature or legislating from the bench, this is exactly the sort of thing that we're talking about. What's clear to me is that the Wisconsin Supreme Court desperately wanted to gerrymander the congressional map in favor of Democrats to redraw it so that there was no chance Derrick Van Orden or Brian Stile could possibly win and easily pick up two seats. They just didn't want to get overturned by the United States Supreme Court again. Because back then, in 2022, they didn't just approve the congressional map. They also struck down the state legislatures map again with alleged conservative Brian Haggadorn joining the court's then three liberals, Anne Walsh Bradley, Rebecca Dallet, and Jill Karovsky. They ruled that Governor Evers legislative map, the People's Maps Commission was going to be the one that they picked. The case got all the way to the United States Supreme Court. The United States Supreme Court ruled that it illegally contained a racially gerrymandered district and struck the map down. Faced with no other alternative, the court was forced to adopt the legislature's maps, which were then overturned in late 2023. But the court's liberal majority, remember Protisei, which had won earlier that year. The court's liberal majority was careful not to include any federal issues that might be appealed right back to the United States Supreme Court because clearly they didn't want to get smacked down again.

Well, now they have been smacked down twice by the United States Supreme Court and twice by circuit courts. Folks, we don't have what effectually amounts to a Supreme Court anymore. You know you're hurting as a Supreme Court when even the circuit court judges that you handpick to get you to your desired political outcomes, say, yeah, what you ladies are doing is completely and totally unconstitutional. That is exactly what happened here in Wisconsin in Florida today. A special legislative session began today. called by governor Ron DeSantis the day after he publicly proposed a new congressional map that would shift florida's current twenty republican eight democrat congressional delegation to about twenty five republicans and three democrats or possibly twenty four republicans and four democrats by creating four additional republican leaning seats why did this happen well because Last week, voters in Virginia narrowly passed a constitutional referendum that would allow new governor, Abigail Spanberger, a Democrat, and the Democrat Virginia legislature to gerrymander the holy hell out of Virginia's map going from a fairly even congressional map to one that has 10 Democrat-leaning districts and just one Republican-leaning district. All is not well in Libville because almost immediately a circuit court judge ruled that the entire referendum process was unconstitutional and actually blocked the certification of results of that election. Today, the Virginia Supreme Court actually denied an attempt by Virginia's Secretary of State. to throw that ruling out or at least to place it on hold so that the elections results could be certified. How bad did Virginia violate its own constitution with how it rushed this referendum? Well, just like Wisconsin. In order to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot, there needs to be one passed by the General Assembly in Virginia in two separate legislative sessions. then there needs to be a general election of the House of Delegates in between them. In other words, there needs to be one legislative session that passes the constitutional amendment. There needs to be an election. Every two years needs to be an election. And then the new legislative session needs to begin and there needs to be another vote. Then it goes to voters. Democrats didn't follow that. They passed it in special session in late 2025, then they passed it again in 26. There was no election in between. They skipped a pretty important step.

And then the language that they used, this just absolutely floored me that they were this brazen. The language that they used was so impossibly biased that it very likely invalidates the entire question. Here was the question. Should the Constitution of Virginia, this was the question posed to voters. And it needs to be, there needs to be somewhat neutral language. This was not at all neutral. Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census? To restore fairness, we're going to take our delegation from 6 to 5 to 10 to 1 to restore fairness. Elections are only fair when Democrats dominate. Now, lest you think, as Democrats have claimed, that this was just in response to Texas. You see, Texas started the Great Redistricting War of 2025. They redistricted. They cut out a couple of Democrat seats, so California, Virginia, they had no choice but to respond. All of the following. Are Democrat-run states in New England? Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Between them, they have 21 seats in the House of Representatives. How many of those seats do you think are in Republican districts? How many Republicans currently represent the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont? Now, before you answer that, let me say that in those states, in those New England states, typically the Republican share of the vote is about 35 to 40 percent. How many Republicans do you think currently have house seats in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont? Zero. Zero Republicans currently represent New England. Out of 21 seats, there is not a single one that has a Republican majority. In other words, the Democrats had already gerrymandered to the absolute maximum. Look no further than the maps drawn in Illinois, which are squiggly lines. Maryland, same deal. Pretty much everywhere you have Democrats in control of a state legislature who also get control of a governor's mansion, you will have gerrymandered maps. Why are Democrats really so worried about gerrymandering even more than they already have? You cannot possibly gerrymander any more than Democrats have in an entire region of the country. Okay. Oh, it's an abomination what Ron DeSantis is doing in Florida. He's going to go 25 to 3 in favor of Republicans. Yeah, well, we got 21 to nothing.

in six separate states that Democrats have controlled forever. Doesn't get more gerrymandered than that. But why are Democrats really so upset about this? Why are they really so worried about potentially? needing to do all of this questionable redistricting mid-decade? Because they're terrified of what's coming by the Supreme Court, possibly later this year, and certainly after the 2030 census. We will dive into that when the Dan O'Donnell Show returns in just a second. Right now, Department of Justice press conference on the indictment for a second time of former FBI director James Comey. With his posts, with the shells in the 86-47, we will get into that here on the Dan O'Donnell Show coming up in the 4 o'clock hour as part of our daily Trump date. We also have the big speech to an address. It was an address to a joint session of Congress by Britain's Charles III III. There, of course, is going to be a state dinner tonight. President Trump hosted the king. The focus of the event, of course, the focus of the visit is to strengthen and reiterate the strength of the partnership, the special relationship between our two countries. Now, we are also going to cover before we talk with Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald, the FBI. Apparently looking into Kirk Bangstad of the Minakwa Brewing Company, they are looking into his offer of free beer in exchange for the assassination of the President of the United States. Oh, wait, what? No, no, that's not what he's offering? Well, please explain to me how free beer the day he dies does not incentivize someone taking a shot at President Trump. There is something else that the FBI really should be investigating Bangstad for, and we will dive into that coming up after the Daily Trump date about a half hour from right now. Why are Democrats going so far with their gerrymandering in both California and Virginia? No, it's not to counter Texas, and just for the record. Folks, because I know that Democrats love to engage in what's known as the two quo quay fallacy. That's Latin for but you two. It is also more commonly known as what aboutism. This is their favorite style of argument. It's, well, Dan, you're a hypocrite on this. I was just for the record against what Texas did as well. I believe redistricting should and legally must be done only after a census. But alas, I don't control the state of Texas.

What Texas claimed to be doing, though, was to be in compliance with a case that's currently before the United States Supreme Court. It's called Louisiana versus Calais. What that challenges is Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. Section 2 provided that you could actually use racial gerrymanders in order to get majority black districts across the South to undo the majority white gerrymanders that Democrats historically had put up to keep black Republicans from voting for black or Republican candidates. There was a massive problem with gerrymandering throughout the post antebellum South. After the Civil War, when black men got the right to vote, and then after the 19th Amendment, when women got the right to vote, 19th Amendment or 20th Amendment? One of those amendments. I'm having a brain fart right now. When women got the right to vote. They did not want black people voting. And back in those days, black people, it was the 19th Amendment. Thank you. Back in those days, black voters overwhelmingly in the South were going for Republicans, but they were shut down by the Dixiecrats who controlled the state legislatures and were gerrymandering so that. Black voters would never be able to vote for the candidates of their choice. Well, Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act in the 1960s said, all right, well, to write that old wrong, you can essentially gerrymander to have majority black districts. Wouldn't you know it as black voters post-1968, LBJ Great Society welfare programs, started voting in huge numbers for Democrats? They used those racial gerrymanders to their advantage. They expanded them to try to create as many Democrat districts as they could. Louisiana v. Calais says, well, racial gerrymandering is racial gerrymandering regardless of whether it's done for a noble cause. If Section 2 is struck down and a whole lot of court observers believe it is, in fact, there was a report last week. that the minority, that the liberals on the court, the dissent, they were actually intentionally slow walking the release of their dissenting opinions because they didn't want this ruling to take effect so that the entire South could be redistricted ahead of the 2026 midterms. If the Section 2 ban on or allowance of racial gerrymandering is undone, It is estimated that Republicans would instantly get between 15 and 19 seats just if the Supreme Court acts in the way that most people think it's going to act. Not only that, so Republicans would pick up 19 different seats. After the 2030 census, they will almost certainly pick up 8 to 13 more.

That has nothing to do with gerrymandering. It has to do with population shifts. In case you hadn't noticed, people are voting with their feet in massive numbers, which style of governance is best? Liberalism, as exemplified in New York and California, or conservatism like in Texas and Florida. The biggest losers in the projections about redistricting, just because of population shifts. Right now, California is going to lose three to four seats. New York is going to lose one to two seats. States like Illinois, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Oregon, and possibly Rhode Island, and yes, here in Wisconsin, will each lose one seat apiece. The majority of those states? governed by Democrats. The biggest winners, Texas will get between three and four seats, Florida will get between two and four seats, and Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho will each pick up a seat apiece. All of those states, with the exception of Arizona, Arizona, are governed by Republican legislatures and Republican governors. Also, North Carolina, inexplicably, has a Democrat governor. So all of the states save for two. This is a clear indictment, first of all, of just how bad Democrats are when they get total control of states. People no longer want to live there. But this also means that Republicans are going to pick up between 30 and 40 seats just in the next couple of years. No wonder Democrats spent the entire Biden presidency attempting to import every person they could find in the third world to be counted in the 2030 census in case you were wondering why they were being flown in secret all around the country. This is why they were trying to ward off or at least somewhat blunt the impact of the coming census that is going to absolutely destroy. the Democrat majority in the House of Representatives if they're fortunate enough to win one in 2026. By the way, the generic ballot in the latest Harris X poll out today shows Republicans and Democrats are dead even at 50 apiece. For nearly two centuries before the revolution, this land was settled and forged by men, women, who bore in their souls the blood and noble spirit of the British. Here on a wild and untamed continent, they set loose the ancient English love of liberty and the great Britain's distinctive sense of glory, destiny, and pride, and that's what it is. Now, the shared heritage and special relationship between the United States and Great Britain were the subject of Charles III' address to a joint session of Congress this afternoon. He also opened his speech by discussing, at least briefly, the attempted assassination a couple of days ago of the president. We meet two in the aftermath of the incident not far from this great building that sought to harm the leadership of your nation. and to foment wider fear and discord. Let me say with unshakable resolve, such acts of violence will never succeed.

The king then made a number of jokes about the revolutionary war, but used them to tie into the central theme that even though their nations had deep disagreement, the United States and Great Britain used that to form the most special relationship on Earth. Ours is a partnership born out of dispute, but no less strong for it. So perhaps in this example, We can discern that our nations are in fact instinctively like-minded, a product of the common democratic, legal and social traditions in which our governance is rooted to this day. Drawing on these values and traditions, time and again, our two countries have always found ways to come together. And by Jove, Mr. Speaker, when we have found that way to agree, What great change is brought about, not just for the benefit of our peoples, but of all peoples. Charles III and Queen Camilla will be honored with a state dinner at the White House this evening. Coming up in about 20 minutes, we will talk with Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald, who was there about the speech, and much, much more. Some late breaking news into us about a half hour, 45 minutes ago. The former FBI director, James Comey, again indicted on charges of posting a threat online against the President of the United States. Attorney General Todd Blanche making the announcement in a press conference this afternoon. Today, a grand jury sitting in the Eastern District of North Carolina returned an indictment against James Comey on two counts. The first count is at honor about May 15th of last year. He knowingly and willfully making a threat to take the life of and to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States. Count two, same day, May 15th, 2025, that the defendant, James Comey, knowingly and willfully transmitting an interstate commerce of communication that contained a threat to kill the President of the United States. Both of these counts carry a maximum term of imprisonment. of 10 years. So I think it's fair to say that threatening the life of anybody is dangerous and potentially a crime. Threatening the life of the President of the United States will never be tolerated by the Department of Justice. James Comey had been previously indicted last year, but a federal judge dropped those charges. That, ladies and gentlemen, is your daily Trump date. The FBI in Milwaukee has issued a statement in response to Kirk Bangstad's apparent offer of a reward. for the assassination of the president, saying the FBI is aware of these posts, hateful rhetoric and speech are despicable. Threats of violence or terrorism will be investigated by the FBI, and the public is encouraged to report any threats of violence. Bangstad, of course.

After the assassin was taken down and arrested, the would-be assassin at the White House correspondent's dinner on Saturday night, posted, well, we almost got hashtag free beer day. Either a brother or sister in the resistance needs to work on their marksmanship, or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle. We'll never know. Regardless, we stand at the ready to pour free beer the day it happens. Our celebration of life is going to be legendary. Now, does that rise to the level of a threat against the life of the president of the United States? I'm of the opinion that it likely does not. Does potentially, though, incentivizing bringing about the death of the president of the United States, does that potentially rise to the level of a crime? You'd better believe it does. If Bangstad is offering, and he clearly is offering something of value free beer all day long when President Trump dies, whether that's of natural causes or of an assassin's bullet, he's going to pour free beer. It will logically follow that if some would be assassin, and no, is it particularly likely? that one of Kirk Bangstad's gullible sap boomer lib followers is going to pull the trigger so they can get free beer at his dirty roach infested tap room in madison no but he's making an offer he is incentivizing he is providing a thing of value free alcohol In exchange for the death of the President of the United States, you'd better believe the Secret Service and the FBI would be interested in that. What they should be far more interested, at least the FBI in, though, is what I believe to be pretty well documented potential violations of federal law. According to a lawsuit filed in February of 2025 by Greg Walker, the publisher of the Lakeland Times, and Heather Holmes, the general manager of the Lakeland Times, who have... posted articles being critical of bangstad and bangstad has just launched a non-stop harassment campaign against them actually culminating in a criminal conviction of bangstad for a class b misdemeanor disorderly conduct which was actually dropped down from criminal harassment as part of a plea deal he just copped that plea on april 16th so about 10 11 12 days ago nearly two weeks ago Kurt Bangstead is, believe it or not, a convicted criminal as a result of this. Well, Walker and Holmes sued him. They are alleging, among other things, that Bangstead defrauded donors by misusing about half of the nearly $1 million in total money raised from, as I said, his gullible fan base.

According to this lawsuit, and I spent a good portion of the afternoon reading the suit, and it is incredibly well argued and incredibly well sourced, the Super Pack, Minotqua Brewing Company Pack. paid roughly 450,000, anywhere between 436,000 and 460,000 over the course of 14 years to two obscure companies, one called effervescent blue and one called NCPS. Neither of them have any public footprint. It's less possible to find these companies than Elon Musk Omar's winery, which mysteriously shut down, just as it appeared that the heat was being drawn on her. There is no registration in Wisconsin of either of these businesses. There is only a UPS store or post office box address for either of those. Now, who could possibly be the beneficiary of nearly 50% of all of the donations, which were supposed to go to left-wing causes and candidates across Wisconsin? These random companies? Or Kirk Bankstad himself? According to this lawsuit, funds allegedly covered Bankstead's personal legal expenses. bankruptcy counseling, and actually helped subsidize the brewery itself, this is completely and totally illegal. If it can be demonstrated that he was converting this money to something that helps himself personally, that there was some sort of personal gain, you would better believe this is a serious violation of federal law. In fact, the Federal Election Campaign Act 52 U.S.C. 30114 explicitly prohibiting converting campaign funds for personal use. Personal use is any expense that would exist irrespective of the campaign, irrespective of the role within the PAC, irrespective of what the PAC was set up to do. In other words, it's fraud. A massive share. of the packs roughly two million dollars in total expenditures went to entities controlled by kirk bangstad or law firms that he was using for again his personal use bankruptcy protection all of that as well as personal costs associated with the brewery rather than effective political work Now, I don't know the paper chain that Walker and Holmes' lawsuits follows is pretty darn tight.

If it can be determined that effervescent blue and NCPS are nothing more than shell companies set up by Kirk Bangstad so that he can launder money that, again, the gullible boomer libs that comment on his Facebook page and lap up whatever crap he pushes. That they were actually donating thinking he was going to get, you know, Tammy Baldwin reelected to the Senate or that he was going to help get marijuana legalized in Wisconsin, something that would be a legitimate political purpose. You can't set up a political action committee and then just get rich off it. Of course, if you're working for a pack, you can draw a salary. The salary has to be reasonable. You can't be paying yourself a million dollars a year from donor money. This is about as illegal as it gets. Again, I don't know. Is effervescent blue? Is NCPS? I would love someone to tell me what NCPS stands for. Are those legitimate companies because they're listed as consulting work? Are they consultancies? I've never seen a consultant firm that doesn't have an online presence, that doesn't have a phone number, that doesn't have any way for a potential client to contact it. This strikes me as a far more serious violation of the law. Then a horrible post, which, let's face it, saying that you wish that the shooter was successful, that is actually protected political speech. It's disgusting. But we don't need a First Amendment in this country to protect statements like, I love puppies. That's not a controversial statement, saying, I wish that President Trump would be killed. That's a controversial statement, and it is protected by the First Amendment. It is not protected if you say, I will give you free beer if you kill the president of the United States, which in a backhanded way, Bankstad is saying, I don't believe that that necessarily rises to the level of a crime either. But if the FBI is looking into this guy, it looked, it need look no further, then the fact that it appears he is running the very definition of a scam pack. I certainly do believe that there is potentially very strong evidence that Kirk Bangstad, the owner of the Managua Brewing Company, was essentially running a scam pack. He was getting donations from gullible boomer libs, and then he was turning around and using them. He was paying himself. That is very, very, very illegal. If the FBI just happens to, you know, pay him a visit, ask him about his various Facebook posts about the attempted assassination of President Trump, I would definitely ask about the Managua Brewing Company PAC because I've got some very, very, very serious questions for Mr. Bangstad that I think would be more properly asked by an FBI agent. Big news today, second indictment filed this afternoon, this time in the Eastern District of North Carolina. against former FBI director James Comey. Now, you might remember that James Comey was first indicted last September. He was charged with two felonies, one making a false statement to Congress, two obstruction of a proceeding. This did not have to do with the 8647 seashell post. Case was dismissed in, I believe, December by a federal judge who ruled that the interim U.S. attorney who secured that indictment, Lindsey Halligan, had not been lawfully appointed after the previous prosecutor resigned and found insufficient evidence to file this indictment. This indictment, though, This indictment alleges that when James Comey posted a photo of seashells on a beach arranged to spell out 8647, that this referred to a specific threat to kill President Trump. The charges include making threats against the president and transmitting a threat in interstate commerce.

Folks, once again, I think this is a thin case. Yes, it is horrific. It's a horrible sentiment. But again, this is a case that is going to touch on free speech. If you say, we must kill the President of the United States. Is that a direct threat? In theory, someone should do it, possibly. If you say, I am going to kill the United States president, then that's a much different thing. 8647, as despicable as it is, is a relative, 86 means get rid of, right? It's like restaurant slang for cut this order. What he's saying is get rid of 47. What he said was, well, it was we need to impeach him. We need to impeach and remove him from office. And theoretically, that is another alternative explanation. In other words, you would need to sort of get inside James Comey's head and there's no indication that he actually posted the picture of those stones. And in fact, it might have been AI. I can't even remember. I'm sort of looking at the picture right now. I don't know if it was a real picture of stones or whether or not it was an AI drawn image. But I think this is going to be a difficult case to prove. Do we have Congressman Fitzgerald, producer Eric? Eric, do we have the congressman? Should we go back to break and take him after the break? Would that be easier? Because I assume he's in, I assume he's in the Capitol right now, and there are areas of that building where you just do not get cell phone reception at all. Yeah, I was going to say, he's in the Capitol right now. So I'll tell you what we're going to do. I know a short segment right now, but we're going to get the congressman to an area where we get some better cell phone reception. Our next guest was in the room, Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald, great friend of the Dan O'Donnell Show. Sir, welcome to the program. How was the King's speech? It was fine. It was, you know, you could tell. It was kind of focused on 250 years since we won the war. You know, I did attend in somewhat of protest as the son of the Irish. If I would have had a chance, I would have said, give Ireland back to the Irish. Hey, amen to that. Amen to that. You know, the Irish are good at carrying a grudge, too. Yes, we are. I was raised during the years of the trouble.

So I was kind of taught not to trust the English all that much. All right, I was going to say you did not sound like you were a huge fan of the King's speech there. That's that's funny. Yeah, I reminded a few of my colleagues that, you know, it was probably their great-grandfathers that fled Ireland at the English's request at some point, right? Oh, boy, absolutely. The blight was entirely the fault of the English because... They were, well, you know what, I don't want to get into Irish history. The potato blight itself was not, but it wasn't that the Irish couldn't grow any other crops other than potatoes. It was that the English were demanding that they send all of their crops back to England. They didn't have enough to eat. They weren't allowed to keep enough to feed themselves in their families. So there was mass starvation, and that's actually what... led to the first wave of American migration from Ireland was the Great Potato Famine. All right. So obviously the big story in Washington and across the country today outside of the royal visit is the attempted assassination of President Trump. This is now, as you posted on X, the third serious attempted assassination of this president. Something's got to change here because this current attempted assassin left a manifesto in which he was just regurgitating the same old mainstream Democrat talking points. Trump is a racist. Trump is a pedophile. Trump is a traitor. Do you believe that Democrat rhetoric is causing people to just absolutely lose their minds when it comes to Trump? Yeah, I mean, we've talked about it before on your show. Trump derangement syndrome is real. But, you know, there is a place where I think that type of rhetoric. when spoken, unfortunately, to somebody that's not stable and certainly can't discern what's reality from what isn't and is willing to actually organize and start to take action. This is something that I think has become unique to President Trump as a target. So there's a lot of discussion about whether or not the Secret Service. It has to almost abandon some of what they have done typically over the years to protect elected officials and change their status, their posture to increase his security even further than we've ever had to secure an elected official before. I mean, it's clear with the third assassination attempt.

and looking into the future, I don't think this is going away. Unfortunately, I think there are other people out there that now have started to consider this like an unfinished job. So they're going to continue to plot. And it seems like it's just a matter of time before the next incident, right? And so this is a much different thing than I think we've ever experienced before here in America. Yeah, it is. I mean, other presidents have had assassination attempts. In fact, the most serious against President Ronald Reagan very, very early in his term in which he was shot and very badly injured. uh obviously gerald ford faced a an attempted assassination nobody ever came closer i mean obviously other than the presidents who were actually assassinated we've had what four three of the four republican presidents who were assassinated uh i mean we had a bullet whiz past the man's ear missing him, clipping the man's ear, what, by four millimeters? Had he not turned his head, he would have died in Butler, Pennsylvania. Now, it sounds to me that this guy on Saturday didn't get particularly close to the ballroom. He was on a different floor. And as the acting attorney general said yesterday, there are about 100 federal agents between him and the president. This was still way too close for comfort. Let's not forget the incident about six weeks after Butler, where there was a guy laying in wait at the president's golf course in the Miami area. And the only reason that he didn't get a shot off was because a very eagle-eyed secret service agent spotted the muzzle of the gun sticking out from the bushes. I think you're right. Oh, go ahead. Yeah, it's, and we're in an environment in D.C. where literally the members of the house travel between their office buildings, the U.S. Capitol, and oftentimes, whether it's the Capitol Hill Club, which is a private club, that many of the members frequent. So, you know, we kind of live in that. fishbowl on a regular basis but um you know it's becoming more and more difficult and you see kind of groups organizations associations i mean they are just charged up and it's like nothing i've seen and that's coming from somebody who lived through act 10 in wisconsin so that's a great point You know, I, you can just feel it. It's a different type of energy. And it's obviously focused on the president right now. And it makes, makes me very nervous.

at all times. Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald joining me right now. He is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and a big, big, big, big deal last week. The indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center. We were talking before you came on about the indictment against James Comey. Well, there was another real surprising one that you have done some work on, done some digging into the SPLC. that they have been allegedly funding the very white supremacy and hate groups that they claim to be fighting. I mean, I don't think I've ever heard anything like this. It's a pretty good scam if you can figure it out if you ask me. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of, we're just gathering and have been discussing all the details in Judiciary Committee. Chairman Jim Jordan yesterday afternoon had the full committee in, and we were somewhat briefed on the details. But, yeah, on April 21st, DOJ secured an indictment against the Southern Poverty Law Center, which is a 501C3. organization, and it's basically known for its legal cases against white supremacist groups, believe it or not, we tangled with them in Wisconsin around some corrections issues back in the 90s. So I'm familiar, I was familiar with the organization, but then this, you know, complete flip of they actually, apparently were not able to find enough targets, so they started to create their own. and did it with... it looks like at least $3 million went to various individuals that are like associated with extremist groups. And we're not even clear, it's not even clear right now whether or not these groups understood that it was southern poverty that was kind of backdoor funding these groups. But there's, there was 270,000 went to unite the right, which is part of the Charlottesville incident is what we're being told. 300,000. to an officer in the area nation. 140,000 to former chairman of the National Alliance and then also the National Socialist Party of America, another 70 grand. So there were these small dollar donate, I call them small dollar donations, anything less than a million, but I mean, they were funding these groups in an effort to prop them up so in fact they could gin up and generate kind of their own existence. And it's, it's,

The DOJ has done a great job, actually, of digging into this and doing the legwork to come up with everything as part of that indictment. And the SPLC has claimed, well, this is how we work. We have to pay informants. Well, by definition, if you're paying the organization itself... And you're paying the leaders of the organization, the head honcho of the organization as one of those payments was made to the former chairman. Those guys can't be informants. Those are the guys that you're trying to take down, right? This was not payments to informants. These were payments to essentially keep these groups going, it seems like. Absolutely. And, you know, if you recall, remember the DOJ attempt to label Catholics as domestic violent extremists? Yes. I don't know if you remember. So it turns out it looks like that, you know, they basically were actually manufacturing and promoting this extremism and tying into Catholics with money that came through. Southern poverty. So there's a connection to the Biden administration in this as well, besides just the Biden DOJ, which is mind-boggling to me. Just stunningly corrupt. When I said that Todd Blanche works incredibly quickly, also today, which I had to cut from our daily Trump date because of time, there were FBI raids at dozens and dozens and dozens of leering centers in Minneapolis today. As part of the ongoing investigations into fraud, in the Somali community, you might remember that the vice president, JD Vance, as well as Stephen Miller, special aid to the president, are heading up that special unit looking into all sorts of fraud and welfare, all sorts of that kind of fraud. I mean, you have already seen. Just since Todd Blanche a couple of weeks ago took over from Pam Bondi, you've seen indictments against the Southern Poverty Law Center. We were just talking with Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald, who was as part of the House Judiciary Committee, looking into that. We have also seen an indictment today against the top deputy to the former director of the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Anthony Fauci for lying about and trying to cover up the origins of COVID-19. Coming up after the top of the hour news, we are going to talk with Senator Ron Johnson about that. His committee did yeoman's work in proving that these were lies. I mean, this is six years now. We have been lied to, just flat out lied to. Now it's just sort of accepted that the origin of COVID was not that wet market in Wuhan, but rather a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. But the fact that Anthony Fauci and his top people were deliberately lying to the American people about that and then trying to cover it up. That's a huge, huge deal. I've got to give my subcommittee staff a great deal of credit because in our investigation during the Biden administration, we weren't getting documents from the administration, as we should have been. Okay, we have the Constitution Authority to do oversight and obtain documents to request. We weren't getting them. But we were getting them from the people that were working with HHS. One of these was a university in Texas. And we got about 115,000 page document dumped from this university. And my staff literally, we had no idea who David Morins is, was like we had that as a search term, but picked a needle out of the haystack and found that email where David Morins is bright. In fact, he has this foyer lady that's shown him how to make FOIA documents disappear. And how, you know, if you've got censored material, send that to my... Gmail account. We've got federal records laws, right? I mean, you're doing official business. You have to do that on official emails, and you have to save all the emails. You can't be destroying federal documents, and that's what got him in trouble. But the wheels of justice turned slowly. This is a couple of years later, since we made that revelation, I'm glad it's happening. Accountability is starting. But we have a long way to go, and we've got an incredibly interesting hearing tomorrow. We'll be releasing a report that shows, again, a grotesque cover-up that impacted hundreds of thousands of lives. Is there any way you could give us a little preview? Sure. So what we have found, because Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s commitment to radical transparency, we got...

somewhere around 11 million pages, just another document dunk because his underlings and the agencies weren't cooperating with our subpoena either. But he said, no, he finds that just dump, give him documents. Now, I'm sure we didn't get all of them. But we got enough. We found that they hid the signal on myocarditis for children early on 2021. As we keep sifting through these 11 million pages. Wait, wait, wait. You're saying that the tie between the COVID vaccine and myocarditis in children, they were covering up a potential causal link? Oh, yeah. They had a safety signal. They denied it. And they covered it up. They didn't issue a health alert. That was, but that was revealed back in May, okay? Fast forward to the most recent revelation is we found they also had a consistent safety signal for a schemic stroke in people over 65, week after week. They actually conducted a stroke study, which they buried. But again, they hid the signal. They didn't issue health alert network. When they wrote about it, they changed wording from moderate to slight risk. But the main revelation, and it's in our 13-page oversight letter to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but the main revelation is in March of 2021. Actually, March 1st, Peter Marks, the head of the Steber. The outfit in FDA that is supposed to be surveilling and looking over vaccine safety, right? He was made aware of the fact that their analytic algorithm. was going to mask safety signals for the COVID vaccine, just because of the unique nature, if you had two very similar, I call them injections, and they were going to mask. So he was made aware that on March 1st of 2021, not even three months into the use of that. But he blew it off. He said, you'll thank you, great. Well, the people who invented the algorithm went and created a new algorithm that unmasked those safety signals. On March 26, they presented their findings. 49 cases of extreme masking, 25 safety signals, including starting cardiac death, pulmonary infarction, bells make 25 very serious adverse events, and they hit it. They continue to deny, oh, we're not seeing safety signals. You're not seeing them if you're not looking for them. They sideline the woman. who was working with the inventor, calling her a distraction, asking her to cease and desist. And this continued month after month after month. And, of course, you heard them continue to say, state effective. You know, they got the approval for everybody. They got the approval for children. They got the approval for pregnant women.

All the while, three months into this program, they knew their safety surveillance system was completely inadequate. They used a different one. They were already made aware of serious, serious, including sudden death. safety signals, but they blew off and continued to lie to the American public. We're not seeing any safety signals. Well, it wasn't just that. Senator Johnson, how many times were you called a crazy conspiracist, an anti-vaxxer, dangerous anti-health? In fact, I was just talking about this on the program literally a week ago. I took a group of listeners on a trip, and I was talking to one of them about how bad censorship was online. I can remember I got booted off of, I believe it was YouTube for something like a month because I hosted you. We did an interview just like we're doing now, a telephone interview, and you were talking about how the COVID vaccine was not nearly as effective and probably not as safe as it was. I lost my YouTube channel for a month. Thank you very much, Senator Johnson. I will gladly take it again because you were telling the truth. I knew you were telling the truth. And they were actively covering up what we now know what five years later, nearly five years later to the day. uh that that what you were saying what you were seeing what your committee was investigating at the time was the absolute truth and now we've got evidence that they were systematically covering it up i mean just standard common sense tells you that there is going to be some group of people who suffer some adverse effect from every medication we know it comes from uh flu vaccines it comes from the the standard m r vaccines that sort of thing it may be a small group doesn't mean that the vaccine are necessarily unsafe. But they rushed these things into production and told us that there was no, they ignored every standard protocol for how a vaccine is supposed to be vetted, how it's supposed to be introduced, how it's supposed to be tested. And then they have the goal to say to anybody like you as legitimate questions and actually has evidence that, hey, this is not working as expected that you are the one who's crazy. You are the one who's in the wrong. So, again, they approved a vaccine based on one process. What they administered was a different process altogether, you know, to produce the billions of doses. But, again, I didn't need a sophisticated mathematical model to tell me something was really wrong. All I had to do is look at the history of there's the number of deaths reported due to vaccine since 1990, a couple hundred a year. All of a sudden, in 2021, over 20,000 deaths. I don't need a... complex mathematical algorithm telling me that something is amiss. I mean, three dozen deaths in 1976 was trying flu. They pulled it. Here they allowed more than 20,000 deaths and continue to this day saying, well, we didn't see any safety signals. So, no, this is grotesque. And by the way, when I would point out, oh, but because we got a billion dose up there. So we did analysis. Deaths per million dose. On average for flu, it's about 0.46.

deaths per million doses for the COVID vaccine who did this analysis is 25.5. You're kidding me. How you slice this safety thing that was screaming at them. And for me pointing it out, yeah, I was vilified. I was ridiculed. I was marginalized. People like you, Vicki McKenna, they got booted off the YouTube, off of Facebook, all that kind of stuff. Again, and it's still going on today. It is absolutely remarkable. I mean, do you feel today with that indictment a certain sense of vindication, not like Schadenfreude, like, oh, you know, my political enemies are being smited, but what this guy, Morins, was indicted for, was that cover up? I mean, you were literally the one that they were trying to cover this information up from. This has got to make you feel vindicated that all of the work that you've done over the last six years on this is starting to result in real accountability. It's not about me. So I appreciate the fact that some people are starting to be held accountable. We're just scratching the surface here. We have such a long way to go because nobody wants to admit they're wrong. I mean, across the board, and we're up against powerful interests that are going to continue to bury the truth. Here's one thing I just proved. You've heard this Commonwealth study. 3.2 million lives saved in 2021, 2022. I mean, it's completely far school. You'd have to assume that we went from 2.85 million deaths prior the pandemic. 3.4, the year of the pandemic, without vaccines, over 5 million deaths in 21, 2022. And by the way, deaths continue to increase the year of the vaccine. Yeah. 3.5 million. Back down a little bit. Again, you'd have to assume that deaths would have gone from 2.8.5 million up to 5 million in those two years. It's total BS. Yeah. It's easy to prove. He is Senator Ron Johnson. Sir, I really do appreciate all of the investigative work that you've done. You laid the groundwork for what happened today, as you said. It's a good start. It's certainly not the finish. But I can tell you, we all do appreciate it. And, man, it just boggles my mind. I know there was already mistrust in government. Right, before the COVID pandemic. But it really feels like with COVID, with, let's face it, the 2020 presidential election, that that 2020 was a turning point. Almost like with the JFK assassination, people point to that as the moment where people stopped trusting their government. That inherent trust that the American people had in government was just gone. It was forever gone. Watergate and the Vietnam War, especially Pentagon Papers and so forth. I feel like 2020, in the digital age, was the year that people really started to realize that, hey, you're being lied to about pretty much everything.

Well, that trust was always misplaced. Again, government is something we have to have. It's necessary, but it's not something that should be this big and have this much power over lives, and people have to understand that. It's not like you can fix government. All you can do is limit, shrink it, limit its influence our lives. That should be our goal, not, you know, make government more trustworthy, and it'll never be trustworthy. Spent a good portion of the first hour of this show. explaining how the Wisconsin Supreme Court does not appear to either know the law or, I think more accurately, care about the law. They're just going to do what they want to do. Well, that also extends to the Wisconsin Department of Justice under Attorney General Josh Call. Last week, Call, of course, a Democrat filed lawsuits, three lawsuits in state court. against online prediction markets, including but not limited to Kalshi, Coinbase, Polymarket, Robin Hood, and Crypto.com. The lawsuit alleges that those platforms are operating illegal gambling schemes by offering sports betting disguised as event contracts. In other words, you can bet on will the Brewers win tonight? Yes. What you're buying, though, you are not getting odds on whether or not the brewers are going to win. You are purchasing a contract saying that this event will happen. If that event happens, you cash in. Your contract will pay. Now, this may sound like a distinction without a difference, but it's not. And in fact,

Whether or not it is gambling, it's sort of irrelevant. Because online prediction markets are actually governed by a separate set of laws, federal laws. Today, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, or CFTC, filed a federal suit against Wisconsin seeking to block those recent lawsuits against the prediction markets. CFTC argues that this, this, this, this form of prediction, this future. Like, you can buy, for example, a futures contract on, say, the price of cattle. Can you think of a very famous cattle trader? Do you remember who made a fortune on a single cattle futures trade and that never again traded cattle futures? That's right. Back in the 1990s, producer Eric Paulson getting it right. Hillary Clinton, most famous cattle futures trader ever. So you purchase a contract on a commodities market. Events happening essentially operate the exact same way. Now, is there a tremendous amount of market manipulation in event commodities markets like on Kalshi? Yes. In fact, there was just a federal indictment against someone involved with the Nicholas Maduro raid because he made $400,000. using insider classified information to bet, well, he would take a futures contract. For all intents and purposes, folks, this is a bet. Like, just consider this to be a bet. You're betting on, like, if you bet on, like, oil futures right now, you bet on oil futures, you buy the contract at whatever oil is at right now, $92, and you would sell it at $105. It's a bet. Stock investing is essentially a bet. You buy something and then you sell it, betting that the price of that is going to go up. However, these specific commodities market trading platforms cannot run afoul of Wisconsin law. Because Congress gave the CFTC sole authority to regulate those financial markets. Any attempt by the states to ban them outright or to restrict them would create a patchwork of regulation that interferes with federal oversight. And in fact, this is the major reason that we have federal laws to begin with. Because if you allow the states to regulate and this is where the Commerce Clause is so important.

Interstate commerce can only be regulated by Congress because if states were to... create this patchwork of regulation and legislation in how they did business with one another. Well, it would be practically impossible to do business across state lines because you'd have to do, you know, if Illinois, if a business in Illinois was to purchase a widget in Iowa, you would have to be regulated under. I mean, it would just be very, very difficult to regulate. So Congress says, and the Supreme Court agreed, hey, the Commerce Clause. says that interstate commerce, the regulation of interstate commerce is the explicit purview of the Congress. Now, there are all new, totally new and totally unimagined ways of doing business than there were in the days of the signing of the Constitution. Ergo, the same basic principles need to apply. Although there can be new forms of federal regulation for these new forms of interstate commerce. The CFTC, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, therefore, was set up to regulate futures contracts because if you are purchasing futures contracts in Illinois, you can't have different regulations than if you're purchasing them in Wisconsin. So the federal suit wants the court to declare that Wisconsin's gambling laws do not apply to CFTC regulated prediction markets and to block the state from enforcing its lawsuits. This is one of, I believe, five or six suits the CFTC has filed in the last couple of months because a number of states are looking to do exactly what can. Now, do you think it's a coincidence? that Josh Cole filed these lawsuits right now at this exact moment. What did Governor Tony Evers just do a couple of weeks ago? Signed in the online sports gambling bill into law. The online sports gambling bill, which I vehemently opposed on this program, as well as a number of other Republicans. This passed over the strenuous objections of about 50% of the Republican caucus in the state Senate. This gives cartel-like authority to the Native American tribes, which already have casino sports books. Essentially, the straight online sports betting bills. You bet on the Brewers. Who are they playing tonight? Arizona. Let's say the brewers are minus 150 on the money line. You take the brewers. That's a straight bet. You are not getting odds if you buy a contract for will the brewers win and you buy yes.

at a certain price, a price that is set. So there's no bookie, there's no house. You are purchasing essentially from someone else because this is a peer-to-peer trade. You are purchasing this from someone who is willing to buy, no, the brewers will not win. There's no house. There's no odds. This is not gambling. However, it's close enough that people are making a whole lot of money treating these prediction markets just like gambling sites. I do believe at the federal level, there does need to be a delineation between what is a straight bet and what is not because you do see the conflict between state and federal law here. But when there is conflict between state and federal law, the supremacy clause of the Constitution says federal law wins. Call, though, is attempting to just circumvent all of this because Wisconsin is about to enact a law. I mean, technically the law is already in place. That gives exclusive purview over online sports betting to the tribes. Essentially, when I warned about the danger of a government-backed cartel, this is exactly what I was talking about, that the government is now operating to protect the cartel's interests. We now have an online sports gambling cartel. That cartel is made up of the 11 federally recognized tribes. All of them have casinos. Pottawatomie is the one with the biggest sportsbook. I believe it's the second biggest sports book in the United States. A massive, just beautiful sportsbook. A great place to watch a game. I have nothing against the Pottawatomie. I have nothing against Pottawatomie Hotel and Casino. I have a whole lot against government protectionist rackets that use the power of the state to try to freeze out competitors. That's essentially what we saw last week. We saw the Attorney General of the state of Wisconsin use state power to try to get around federal law or to ignore the presence of the CFTC, which actually is able to properly regulate Kalshi and Coinbase and Polymarket predicted, those sorts of sites. That authority was delegated by Congress. Josh Kual doesn't get to say, well, you know, the native tribes, they really want to have this monopoly on online sports betting. So Kalsi, Coinbase, Polymarket, you guys are out. Sorry. That doesn't change the federal position towards futures trading and towards commodities markets. This is why it is a fundamentally dangerous place to be. When you've got one group of businesses, again, this is how a cartel operates. They are ostensibly competitors, Hochunk, Oneida, Potawatomi. They are ostensibly competitors, at least in their casino businesses. They are all competing against one another to get you into their casino, to play blackjack, to play their slots, to gamble on sports. But they're not.

You see, they've all agreed to carve up the state, just like a drug cartel, and only operate in their one specific location. You're never going to see Potawatomi Hotel and Casino open up a second casino in Ho-Chunk's territory in the Wisconsin Dells because Ho-Chunk controls that territory. Now they want to also control the digital territory of online sports betting, and that's exactly what this new Wisconsin law did. And you're already seeing... Josh Cole operate essentially at the behest of the cartel to try to get rid of some of those competitors. Federal law be damned. I am rooting very hard for the federal government, for the CFTC to win this lawsuit, as I suspect it will. I mean, it's a no-brainer. It's supremacy clause grounds. CFTC has the exclusive regulation over these markets. You can't just say, well, we here in Wisconsin think this is gambling. Yeah, well, the federal government says it's not. And Supremacy Clause says the federal government gets to the last say. We are way late for a commercial break. Don't worry, though. We will be back in just a second here on the Dan O'Donnell Show. Second Supreme Court candidate has now jumped into the race for... The 2027 election. It is another liberal. We first reported this last week. It is now official. Appellate Court Judge Pedro Cologne joins Clark County Circuit Court Judge Lindsay Brunette as the two liberals in this race. What's kind of remarkable about this. is that liberals are so eager to get in this race to replace the retiring Annette Ziegler announced last month. She is not going to seek re-election, the former Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court staunch conservative. Well, she's seen how the last, what, three Supreme Court races have gone? Four of the last five? Five of the last six? No, actually, that's not accurate. Four of the last five. Republicans actually used to dominate state Supreme Court races until they didn't. 2020, 2020, 23, 25, and 26. I guess the last four and then five of the last six. Yeah, I guess I was right. Five of the last six. The only one that conservatives have won, something of a fieric victory, Ryan Haggardor, and winning in 2019. How much of things changed? When Ziegler ran for re-election in 2017, she didn't even have an opponent. There wasn't a single liberal who wanted to run against her. That's how dominant conservatives were. 2027, there are already two liberals.

One announced, Brunette announced maybe a week, a week and a day after the 2026 race. Why wouldn't they? Why wouldn't they? Maria Lizarr lost by 20 points. Now you could say, well, the Republican Party didn't do enough. Yeah, okay, well, it certainly did in 2025. We had a ton of money in that race. Brad Schimmel lost by 10, almost 11 points. For whatever reason, and I actually think I've got a pretty good handle on the reason, Republican voters, Donald Trump voters, simply do not turn up in spring elections. Our friends at the Institute for Reforming Government did a focus group with a whole lot of people who voted in the 2024 presidential election but did not vote in the 2022 gubernatorial election. These were people who voted for Trump in 24, in 20, in 2016, in some cases. They didn't vote for governor. Most common reasons cited, they do not believe. that issues in Wisconsin impact them. They don't see how a gubernatorial election impacts them. By extension, you can certainly see how they don't believe a Supreme Court election impacts them. In fact, I was just with a big group of friends. And a number of them were asking me, Dan, do Republicans have a governor candidate yet? They had no idea Tom Tiffany was in this race, no idea that he was pretty much the only candidate in this race after Josh Schoeman, the Washington County Executive dropped out a couple of months ago after Tiffany got the Trump endorsement. Now, I have no fear. They also had absolutely no idea who was running as a Democrat. A couple of them were able to guess that Mandela was in the race again. You can sort of see by this, by the way, why Kamala Harris is still polling as well as she is in the Democratic polls for president in 2028. It's because most people. do not know who is running until the ads all start and candidates are able to introduce themselves to voters. This is why it's such a big advantage that Tom Tiffany doesn't face a primary, that he doesn't have what Democrats are currently battling in. And that's a primary where the knives are starting to come out. They aren't able to just run ads being all nice and introducing themselves to voters. They have got to fend off challenges from the left. Right now, the prediction markets, the polls, everything is showing Francesca Hong, not running away with his primary, but between her and Mandela, one of the two is almost certain to win. If the primary were held today, it would almost certainly be Francesca Hong or Mandela Barnes.

We're getting desperately close to the point at which Democrats are going to be forced to rig their own primary, yet again, lest they risk an open socialist on the ballot who would, in fact, get some of those reticent northern and western rural Trump voting Republicans out. You might not be able to explain to them. how it is that, you know, tax policy in the 400-year veto impact them. But if you tell them, hey, would you like a communist as your governor? They will say, hell no, and they'll turn out to vote against the communist. That's the exact reason that in 2020, The primary was rigged against Bernie Sanders. That's why in 2016 the primary was rigged against Bernie Sanders. Because in both elections, Democrats were terrified that the only candidate Trump would be able to beat would be the candidate who he would be able to scare voters about, and that would be the fire-breathing socialist. Both Mandela Barnes and Francesca Hong are fire-breathing socialists. That is a motivating factor.

getting Chrissy Taylor on the ballot, unless you are able to really spend a ton of money demonizing her and getting an image of her that scares voters in their minds. It's a really, really difficult thing to do. Democrats, they don't have to spend a ton of money. Their voters are convinced that every conservative is Hitler. You just come out and you say, oh, Maria Lazar, she's just like Donald Shere. She explicitly said, I don't want Trump's endorsement. She explicitly said, I'm not a Republican. Part of the reason Republicans didn't turn out for her, why she lost by 20 as opposed to 10, which has sort of been par for the course for conservative losses in this decade, in Supreme Court races, at least. Liberals are lining up because they now feel like they're invincible in these court races. conservatives have to spend money they have to do just an incredible amount of work and invest an incredible amount of resources To get to the northern and western parts of the state, which are increasingly important now because you can't rely on 75% turnout in the wow counties, you've got to get to these voters who are far less likely to turn out. The Institute for Reform and Government, IRG told you why they're not turning out. They don't believe that these issues matter. Now it is on candidate and party alike to convince them that they do. Every single Democrat is, it's always going to be easier for Democrats because they need to turn out votes in a grand total of two cities, Madison and Milwaukee. The fact that they're able to turn out something like 90% of all voters in Madison, every single election is a massive advantage. Republicans have a much more difficult job geographically, but they've got to do it. They want to get a Republican in the governor's mansion. If they want to hold on to the majority, if they want to have a puncher's chance to win next year's Supreme Court election, you have got to convince your own voters how important these elections are.
