and never have to call Democrats to account for anything. So it's going to be interesting. I'm excited. I'll tell you. I take great pleasure in watching them, you know, I don't know, what's the right term? Watching them wiggle and wriggle. Remember when the Biden administration caused all the fuel prices to go up after they closed down the Keystone XL pipeline? And remember when the Biden people, now you just call them the autopen staffers, went into the strategic reserves to cover up the mess they were making, had tipped my friend Rhonda for remembering it. As you know, those reserves are not to augment political discourse in our country, but to provide resources in times of a disaster or some kind of worldwide disturbance when oil cannot be obtained. So, you know, we would continue to have oil for the military and for the government to operate. So now we're into the Democrat-induced shutdown. which may cause a stop to snap payments. Have you seen some of the things on social media, particularly on TikTok, of these people who say that if the snap dries up, if they can't get their food stamps, I know now they call it supplemental, nutritional, blah, blah, blah, but it's food stamps. And I see all these TikTok videos of some pretty grotesque-looking people who are saying if they cannot get their food stamps, they're going to... in mass, go into Walmart and supermarkets and bodegas and every grocery store and just steal a lot of stuff. And if they all go in together, they said they won't be able to catch us all. What a mess. And this is all at the hands of the party of ill repute, the Democrats. And imagine, they want to use emergency funds like they did during that... fuel shortage, and the Democrats are insisting that they go into emergency funds, which they're not going to do. Brooke Rollins, the secretary of the Food and FDA, said, I'm not doing that. So now what? What are they going to do? As my friend said, there are no more Democrats left in America. They are just socialists. calling themselves Democrats. And as a pretty sorry state of affairs, I don't think he can win elections like that. We'll see, right? I saw a piece and it really reminded me about a year ago. I got, no, it was more than a year. It was during COVID. I got into a discussion, which actually ended up being more like a argument with one of my children, not going to mention her name. And I was told that I should stop sending Dr. Seuss books to her children because Dr. Seuss was a racist. You know, Dr. Seuss, Theodore Geisel, who's literally been dead for years and who I never perceived of anything racist about his books. If anything, he was always trying to get people to get along. You know, he made up characters.

so that they would be accepted by normal people. But apparently one time he put an Asian person in one of his books who looked like a stereotypical Asian cartoon, and that was enough to trigger all the wokeies. But now, Dr. Seuss has an un... or a long unseen manuscript that's about to get published by Random House children's books, and you're going to love this one. The woke crowd is going to hate this even more. It's titled Sing the 50 United States, and the story helps readers learn the names of the 50 states in true Dr. Seuss fashion, with lots of rhyming and wordplay. The story will feature some familiar faces, including the iconic cat in the hat, as well as excerpts and sketches from Dr. Seuss's original manuscript and a map of the United States beneath the book jacket. The state's theme story was discovered earlier this year in the archives of University of California, San Diego's Geisel Library, and will hit the shells on June 2nd just in time to celebrate the U.S.'s 250th birthday. Uncovering a new work from TED is like finding a time capsule of his imagination, Susan Brandt, the president and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said in a press release, Seeing the 50 United States celebrates his boundless creativity, genius with words, and enduring ability to inspire young readers everywhere. And they have a copy of the manuscript, including some of his sketches on the Internet. I strongly suggest you look at it. It's a beautiful thing. So, you know, there's a lot of people in Europe who are watching carefully this New York election. And the article appeared, I think it was, oh gosh, I don't remember who wrote it. But... Basically, it was an article written by a columnist who had just come back from Europe. And he said, I just returned. Oh, actually, he was a European who made a trip to America. And he said, I've just returned from a brief stay in the U.S. On every European's lips in conversations, on the news, on social networks, there's only one subject, next Tuesday's election, which may make 34-year-old Zohran Mamdani, New York's mayor. Mr. Zohran Mamdani has no substantial political past.

Apart from a few demagogic populist resolutions that are unworkable without the cooperation of the state legislature, he has no program. Nothing indicates that he's capable of managing a $110 billion budget of steering 300,000 municipal employees, in short, of running the state within a state that is the city of Fiorello LaGuardia, Ed Koch, and Michael Bloomberg. last but not least he has made statements of unheard of violence about israelis and jews similar to those of france's extreme leftist politicians rima hassan and jean-luc The man the polls say is the likely next mayor is a resolute supporter of boycotting the only Jewish state on the planet. He denies that the country, the survivors of the pogroms and the Shoah have built over the past 77 years, has the right to exist as a Jewish state. He doesn't hide that he came to politics through the Palestinian cause and thanks to it. He adopts as his own, without qualms, the lies that Israel has engaged in organized famine and genocide. He has said he would order the Prime Minister of Israel arrested if he comes to the city for the United Nations General Assembly. He compares Palestinian terrorists to the insurgents of the Warsaw ghetto. He condemns the Hamas massacre of October 7th, but only half-heartedly, and also condemning in the same breath the occupation and apartheid. subscribing to the theme that Jews are the source of the world's problems and pulling strings everywhere, he is able to make this moronic statement about the New York City Police Department and the IDF. When the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it's been laced by the IDF. He finds nothing to object to in the project to globalize the Intifada, which implies he wouldn't be unfavorable to the idea of seeing Jewish civilians targeted anywhere, including in New York. So you can imagine how the Europeans are looking at that election in New York, my hometown, and sick to their proverbial stomachs, as are many of us. Anyway, you know, I'm fascinated by the coverage that it's receiving because they've got in London a Muslim mayor. They have a lot of people serving in various legislative bodies throughout Europe who are of Muslim origin, recent immigrants, whether legal or illegal. And now they're looking at New York because they thought, well, maybe America will be the last bastion of normalcy. Not so fast, right? Not so fast. By talking about some made-up aunt or cousin, or we find out now it was a distant cousin at that, because she wore her hijab and didn't feel safe on the subway in the weeks after the terrorist attack. And then he buckled down to insist that this brouhaha around his comments only proves that Islamophobia runs wild in New York. His two challengers, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, really can still form an alliance and erect a blockade. You know, the great rabbis of New York, starting with Cosgrove at Park Avenue Synagogue and Amiel Hirsch at the Stephen Bari Weiss Free Synagogue, they've spoken out, and their warnings are going to go louder and louder in the days to come. And maybe some statements by business leaders who are the real providers of jobs, letting it be know that they won't hesitate to leave the city. If an anti-Semitic mayor comes to the helm, maybe voters will think before committing the irreparable, the crime of voting for this guy. But the most likely outcome is that people are going to brush these warnings aside and answer them with the typical America is not for sale. And it'll be a black day for the Jews of New York. I can tell you that. An insult to the memory of Saul Bellow and Eli Wiesel and Leonard Bernstein. That's like spitting in the face of Emma Lazarus. That's the poet whose words are on the Statue of Liberty in Ellis Island. It would be a beginning of rupture of the age-old pact between the world's most cosmopolitan city and the people of the book. It would be an earthquake in the history of Judaism. At the hour when the threat of annihilation was everywhere, New York was the last place on the planet where Judaism and Jews could not only be saved, but reinvented. Beyond the Jews, it would be the entire Democratic Party turning its back on the legacy of Truman and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Bill Clinton to rally to a faction that under the cover of intersectionality confuses the green flag of Hamas with that of the workers.

America's caught in the eyes. On one side, you have the America first on the other Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her crowd, whose New York breakthrough would strengthen totalitarian temptations. If New York falls, the entire free world may again totter on its foundations. I'm sorry, but I'm just real. And that's the truth. And apparently, most people just don't want to hear it. But I'm going to keep telling it anyway. It's my obligation. And then this dude, you know, after he basically calls New Yorkers bigots, you know, with just a couple of days to go in the New York City mayor contest, Zohran Mamdani, the guy who's always been so smooth and charismatic, I would say it was a real mistake to reveal the ugly side to his message. And I'm not sure how it's going to play out in the election. I can only hope that some people will think about it, but despite being a proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America and previously espousing very radical views, now he's all about these populist topics, lowering costs, in one of America's most expensive cities. He refuses to condemn calls to globalize the intifada. He doesn't want to take back his calls to dismantle the police, although he's not talking about that anymore. And then last Friday, in an emotional speech in the Bronx, he accused his opponents of Islamophobia? I mean, really. A nearly seven-minute speech to speak to the Muslims of New York. It was eloquent. But it was also angry, it was bitter, it was divisive, and it was dumb. In this video, which had about a quarter of a million views the last time and counting, Mr. Zohran Mamdani said about the remarkably diverse community that is New York City, that it's a hotbed of bigotry. As the first major Muslim candidate for mayor in the New York City history, he said, he initially thought he could build a platform of universality. Well, now he realizes that he was wrong. He was mistaken. All Muslim children in New York, he said, are marked as the other and made to feel they carry a stain that can never be clean because of the shadow of 9-11. On and on and on, he went. Mr. Zohran Mamdani created, well, the world that he was talking about didn't sound anything like New York to me. New York is a pretty welcoming community. There's all kinds of people there. A real joyful mix of religions and ethnicities and colors, but not according to Mr. Zohran Mamdani. Mr. Zohran Mamdani thinks it's dominated by bigots, and if you don't vote for him, you're a bigot. Now, how's that going to work? I mean, only in New York would you even consider it possible that that could work. Because New York...

is unclear about its own values. Of course there are pockets of bigotry. They're everywhere and in every large city. But if bigotry dominated the five boroughs, then he wouldn't have come from obscurity, which is what he did, to national fame and fortune. He's running to be the mayor of the biggest, most important city in America. What kind of bigotry is that evidence of? And instead, he made himself look small and like petty and pinched. His blanket condemnation of many of the people that he wants to represent probably comes in part from his background. Because true believers have a way of rhetorically overdoing it. You know, the Democratic Socialists of America, don't merely call backers of other candidates or adversaries or opponents. They're all enemies of democracy. Out to silence the voices of working New Yorkers. Now, that may work in some environments. But it's hardly the approach of someone who wants to unite a city as amazingly diverse as New York. Mr. Zohran Mamdani has been the presumed a big winner of this race for months now. But this kind of grievance-driven video was probably the wrong thing. And it has definitely narrowed his margin somewhat. A lot more people are low was probably the wrong thing. And it has definitely narrowed his margin somewhat. A lot more people are looking at Andrew Cuomo, which is amazing because there's plenty of reason for New Yorkers to dislike Andrew Cuomo. But as compared to Zohran Mamdani and his whining about bigots, Andrew Cuomo's starting to look better to a lot of New Yorkers. And I've got to say this. If you're a Jewish New Yorker and you vote for Zohran Mamdani, Stop saying you're Jewish. And just admit it. You may have some ethnicity. You may have some heritage. But you're about as Jewish as a slice of bacon on a ham sandwich. That's just the truth. And you know it. All right. Take a break. Got to take care of a little business. Stay right where you are because I'll be right back. Well, look who just walked into the studio.

Just saying. Somebody gave me this pen, which has the president saying some pretty crazy things. I love them. I do. I must admit. I love them. But I'm thinking about, you know, the fact that for many of us, it's not like we've never been Democrats or have family members who are still Democrats. So it's really hard to watch them implode the way they seem to be imploding. Like, I'd like there to be two parties in this country. That gives you some choices and you can make some clear decisions about which way you want the country to go. But they're demented at this point. And this big tent politics nonsense? Thank you. A heads up to the free press. My friend Perry sent me this article that liberals are pushing for a more open-minded Democratic Party. But, you know, first I got to think about the positions that these Democrats are taking. Like, how is that going to work? I mean, pity anybody who's just a moderate Democrat. You know, the party has got historic low numbers. It leads in the generic congressional ballot for 2026, but just barely. And remember, if you have the White House and both the Senate and the Congress, you are definitely not in a position to win more seats. So the Democrats should be in a healthy position to win since they've lost everything. But even the Senate map looks terrible. The congressional ballot for 2026 is slim. And you got these governor's races. I mean, is any state more reliably blue other than, of course, Illinois, California, and New York, than New Jersey? And look at how close that race is looking right now. In the main Senate primary, this guy, Graham Platner, the progressive candidate who once called himself a communist and happens to have a Nazi tattoo. is leading in the polls. And in New York, a self-described democratic socialist is winning, Zohran Mamdani. That's a pretty clear sign that the progressives are winning the fight for control of the Democratic Party. And that's a pretty bleak outcome for the Democrats. Centrist Democrats, now they have a new theory. This is how they reassure themselves. They say that... The party's cause is fatally undermined in much of the country by its own reputation. Their emerging solution is what they call the big tent. And the idea is pretty straightforward. Democrats' problems stem not from the party's views, but from its intolerance towards dissent. To run successfully in more conservative states and districts, Democratic candidates must be allowed to adapt their positions to local sensibilities without being read the Riot Act by the National Party. In other words, the party poobas need to get more comfortable with religious pro-lifers in rural states.

as well as the Democratic Socialists. And at the margins, that would certainly help. But would it really solve the party's fundamental image problem? I mean, let's face it, we live in an era of nationalized politics where voters' views of local candidates, they're heavily shaped by their view of the national party. Split ticket voting? That used to be so common in my, you know, the years that I was a young adult and then in the early years of my family. It was, yeah, you know, you voted for a Democrat for the Congress and you voted for a Republican for the Senate and you could vote for a Republican for mayor and then a Democrat for governor. Not anymore. You know, split ticket voting has collapsed. And the correlation between presidential. And congressional votes is, it's near total. And so in that kind of environment, candidates have a very hard time escaping the gravitational pull of their own national party. And that really undercuts the payoff from a Big Ten strategy, right? A Democrat who's running in a conservative area can deviate from all the party orthodoxy on, well, I don't know, gender issues. But even if local activists and progressive commentators grit their teeth and stay quiet, voters are still going to see the D by their name. And they still know that the National Party believes biological males should compete in girls' sports, that gender-affirming medical treatments for kids should be readily available, and that to question these ideas is to be on the wrong side of history. In other words, voters know whose tent it is, even if there's a few heterodox guests that they allow inside. And that's especially the case since the welcome mat for dissenters in the party has been mostly rolled out for progressive left heroes like Zohran Mamdani, whose positions, very unorthodox positions, on economic issues are forgiven. Even as his profile on social and cultural issues simply deepens the problems with the party's national image. The tent opens on the left, much so less on the right. And advocates of the Big Ten have to face the facts. The party's many unpopular and unworkable positions on everything from energy to identity politics have to genuinely change if Democrats hope to win back, you know, middle of America, skeptical voters. A recent New York Times conversation between columnists and abundance advocate Ezra Klein and progressive author Tanihisi Coates illustrates the problem. Klein is a proponent of big tent politics tried to persuade codes of its necessity. A huge amount of the country. A majority of the country, Klein said, believes things about trans people, that we would see as fundamentally and morally wrong. What politically should our relationship with these people be?

Coates, unsurprisingly, rejected the premise. As far as he was concerned, those people were on the other side of a moral line. If you think it is okay to dehumanize people, he said, then conversation between you and me is probably not possible. But the telling detail is actually in Klein's own phrasing. He described dissenters from the progressive orthodoxy as fundamentally and morally wrong. His version of the big tent, then, is that some Democrats, particularly those in conservative areas, should be permitted to adopt wrong and immoral positions for the sake of expediency. But the positions of the party on these issues will and should remain the same. You can come into the tent, but the left is still going to run the show. And that won't work. Because if you're an advocate for the big tent, then you better face the facts. The parties got politics, positions that won't work. Everything. Think about it. $30 minimum wage? You're going to drive small businesses, the few that'll be left, out of New York. Take immigration. Democrats have had little to say about the successful efforts to close the southern border. They don't talk about it, but they have a lot to say about his deportation measures, which they see as cruel and immoral. That, as Josh Barrow notes, doesn't add up to a change in party position. To win back voters' trust, the Democrats must acknowledge that the Biden administration's policy of laxity was a failure and put forward better enforcement measures of their own. If Democrats are only seen talking about how the government is doing too much enforcement, then they're going to be seen as the anti-enforcement party, and that's politically deadly. And that's precisely what's happening. The party looks like the anti-enforcement party that doesn't want to deport anyone. And that, look, Alvin Bragg Garcia, they're defending all these like indefensible child traffickers and drug smugglers. And that image means that a Democrat who's running in a conservative area. They can try to carve out a tough on illegal immigration profile, but even assuming the activists leave him or her alone, the party stand on immigration enforcement will take away any possible belief that the candidate is telling the truth. Another example is this climate nonsense. Yesterday I told you that Bill Gates was backing away from all this, you know, the sky is falling climate nonsense. Climate is not a winning issue for Democrats. Trump has dismantled much of the Inflation Reduction Act's climate provisions, and there's been very little pushback. I haven't heard anybody talking about it. Even the most far-left people just staying quiet. Democrats are beginning to realize that their net zero green New Deal style plans are totally out of step with the physical realities of America's energy demand, especially in the age of AI.

And with what voters actually want, they want affordable, reliable energy. These plans they have don't work. And they don't have much support outside of, you know, the professional class liberals and, you know, the climate non-governmental organizations. As Jody Freeman, who served as counselor for energy and climate change and President Barack Obama's White House recently admitted, listen to me carefully, this is what Jody said. We've lost the culture war on climate, and we have to figure out a way for it not to be a niche leftist movement. And you know when Bill Gates has turned on it like he did this week? There's not much hope. The big tent is less important than who runs the tent. But if a Democratic candidate running in a conservative area responded to this vibe shift by echoing Freeman, Acknowledging the climate change is a problem, but not an immediate crisis, that net zero is impractical in the near term and that fossil fuels will remain essential for decades. They would run smack dab into party orthodoxy. Even if the climate NGOs and activists left them alone, the candidate will still be linked to a party that sees his or her views as fundamentally wrong and immoral. Fit only for the rubs in flyover country. All of which suggests there's no way around it. The big tent is not important. Who runs the tent is important. And unless the party's core positions genuinely evolve on issues like immigration, energy, and cultural liberalism, a few more heterodox Democrats running in conservative areas will do very little to change the party's trajectory. Making these symbolic gestures towards tolerance won't fool anybody. And until that changes, the corks will keep popping in Trump Tower. And that's just the reality. Much like, you know, looking at this peace deal, I understand that Donald Trump wants to bring peace to the whole world. It's a noble aspiration, but it's also a loser. You know, the Palestinians still prefer Hamas. The Palestinians still believe in an armed struggle against Israel. Those who thought that Hamas's October 7th attack on Israel and the war in the Gaza Strip have made Palestinians change their minds about Hamas are in for a rude awakening. More than half of the Palestinians continue to support the atrocities that were committed. by Hamas against Israel and foreign nationals on October 7th. And guess what? The terror group remains popular among large number of Palestinians. Support for Hamas means support for the destruction of Israel through jihad.

There was a poll published two days ago by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research showed that 53% of the Palestinians think that Hamas's decision to launch the October 7th attack was correct. A majority of 54% of Palestinians blame Israel for the current suffering of Gazans, while 24% blame the U.S. Only 14% blame Hamas. Think about that. These findings contradict all these claims by some of these Western media outlets that, oh, there's a growing number of Palestinians, very disillusioned with Hamas because of the death and the destruction that it's brought on its people as a result of October 7th. Not so asked about their perception of Hamas two years after the Gaza war began. 18% of the Palestinians said their support for Hamas was big and it has not changed, while 19% said their support for the terror group increased a lot. Another 17% said their support for Hamas increased a little. By contrast, 16% said they did not support Hamas before the war and that their opposition to the terror group has not changed. 12% said their support decreased a little and 10% said their support for Hamas has decreased a lot. So the conclusion from these numbers is that the past two years have led to greater support for Hamas rather than the opposite. That's the reality. The polls show that a vast majority of the Palestinians are still in denial over the crimes that were committed by Hamas on October 7th. Asked if they had committed the atrocities that are seen in the videos that Hamas filmed themselves. They said, no, no, Hamas didn't do that. 90% of the people said Hamas didn't do those things. Only 10% admitted that Hamas did it. As for the disarmament of Hamas, which is part of the second phase of this peace plan, majority of 69% oppose the idea. Only 29% said they support disarming Hamas. A majority of Palestinians, the polls showed, are extremely supportive of Iran, Hezbollah, Qatar, and the Houthi militia in Yemen. The highest satisfaction rate went to the Houthis, 74%, followed by Qatar, Hezbollah, and Iran. If elections for the presidency of the Palestinian Authority were held today, Khaled Meshal would win 63% of the votes. as opposed to 27% for the incumbent PA president, Mahmoud Abbas. Because the 89-year-old Abbas, who is in the 20th year of his four-year term in office, remains as unpopular as ever among his own people who view him and the PA as incompetent and corrupt. Listen, you have got to wake up, particularly you New York Jews. They want to kill you.

Senator Ted Cruz was ripping the Biden administration because of this FBI Arctic Frost probe. And guess who the judge was who signed off on having his Senate office phone tapped? I know you're not going to believe this. It was James Bosberg. Yeah, this guy's fingerprints are all over politics. What kind of justice can you get from a judge who operates in that vein? Chuck Grassley has been releasing troves of documents related to this Arctic Frost. A probe, he says, was politicized and lacked the basis. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith used the probe to bring criminal charges against Donald Trump related to the 2020 election. The subpoenas included non-public, confidential grand jury material that Chuck Grassley said he obtained through whistleblower disclosures. Chuck Grassley just revealed that Jack Smith sent a subpoena to Verizon to tap my Senate office phone. 20% of Senate Republican cell phones, including cruises, were also subpoenaed. This is the Biden Department of Justice's Watergate. But... Do you think there'll anybody will be in an orange jumpsuit? As much as Trump is trying, with James Comey and the rest of them, somehow I get the feeling that nobody will pay for this. They never disclosed that they were tapping Senate office phones because Judge Bosberg signed an order that said they couldn't disclose it because Ted Cruz would destroy the evidence. That's utterly without basis, in fact. There's zero evidence to conclude that he's likely to destroy or tamper with evidence or to intimidate witnesses. You can't, you know, this is an abuse of power. This is a, that order was a weaponized legal system. Judge Bosberg printed these things out like placements at Denny's. Just disgusting.

But that's all right. Because what goes around, comes around, I hope. I still hope that. And finally, one of the most striking things about, you know, the Trump's second term is how few characters are still on board from the first term. Other than the president himself, it's almost a completely different cast. Even the first lady only rarely appears. But there's one very important exception. White House Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller. And while Trump derangement syndrome afflicts millions of Americans, Miller's arrangement syndrome, is, as they used to say during COVID, a comorbidity.
