I'm so glad you asked. I love a bear story. A wild bear. Up in Eureka. What's that smell? In Northern California has broken into a place. Now you're thinking, did another bear break into a house? He broke into a diner. Break into a diner, break into a car, break into a tent. He broke into the black bear diner. He broke into a place where he would least likely to live. A bear trap. Pretty much. A wild bear is broken into a zoo. In which part of the zoo, you asked? Did he go there to see the lions? Nay, the tigers, nay, the bears? Yes. He broke into the bear enclosure. This is the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka. And staff was conducting a routine inspection of part of the complex when they spot this wild American black bear leaning on a gate and looking in at three captive black bears in their enclosure. He just wanted community. He was just looking for some community. The wild bear did not appear aggressive, was observed interacting with the captive bears through the fencing. At no point did the wild bear enter any of the habitats? The bear was safely coaxed back into the woods through a service gate eventually, back into the wooded 60-acre Sequoia Park directly behind the zoo. But the zoo said overall he was a very polite visitor. He stayed on the boardwalk path. He kept two feet on the ground and tried to climb over the railings. Just looking for some friends. Hey, what's you guys doing in there? I'm Bob. You know, just looking for some community. What if they were family members? Oh my gosh. What if it was a zoo, a prison visit? Yeah. What if he thought? What if that was mom and his brother and his dad? He's just there to tell them, hey, you guys, we have a family reunion coming up in a month. And you're inside. Maybe, uh, maybe they break out of that thing. Yeah. It's sad though, isn't it? That would be a sad scene to see for me. I like I like the story. It's cute, but it's also very sad. This bear gets to live in the wild and those three are trapped in the zoo. He gets to live in the wild, but he's alone. But he's alone. That sounds wonderful, doesn't it?

Alone in the woods? It's time for swamp. No? I'm a politician, which means I'm a cheat and a liar. And when I'm not kissing babies, I'm stealing their lollipops. Here we go. The real problem is that our leaders are dumb. The other side never quits. What are you doing in my swamp? I'm not going anywhere. So dumb. That is how you drain the swamp. I can imagine what can be and be unburdened by what has been. You know? Americans have always been going. Act presidential. But they're not stupid. A political blunder is when a politician actually. tells the truth. Whether people voted for you were not. Swamp watch. They're all counting on them. Well, that hot government shutdown talk continues. We are now in the third week, second longest in history. In history at 22 days, no signs of any breakthrough. Although. There was a comment yesterday from Senate Majority Leader John Thune who suggested that we could see an end to the government shutdown by this week. He didn't really explain what made him think that that was possible, but there is, in his mind at least, there is a certain sense of optimism. The retribution tour continues. Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have referred former CIA director John Brennan to the Justice Department for Criminal Prosecution, saying that he made false statements before Congress about the Trump-Russia investigation. Specifically, Jim Jordan, the committee chair, said in his letter to the AG that evidence newly... declassified, confirm that Brennan falsely testified in 2023 when he said the CIA was not at all involved with the steel dossier. That, of course, was this series of intelligence reports written by a former British spy for a private investigation firm that said that there were ties between the Trump election campaign of 2016. and the Kremlin. So at this point, no word from the DOJ if they're going to follow up on that. But at least it has been suggested to them. Here's the headline that confuses me. It says after months of silence, Hunter Biden finally breaks his silence. I realize how privileged I am, he says. Since when has Hunter Biden been silent? He just sat for a massive interview with that guy, the podcast guy, that ended up with days and days worth of sound bites. Right. Where is that from? What? It's like Channel 5 News. No, no, no. I mean, where's this article from? The Populist Times. Okay. Hunter Biden publicly acknowledged for the first time that his father granted him a pardon because Trump won the election, suggesting that the move would not have happened otherwise. No S, coming from the no S desk. He said that Trump's return to office changed everything and prompted his father to act.

Hunter played guilty last year to evading $1.4 million in back taxes owed to the IRS, convicted of felony gun charges. Pardon from his father came in the final weeks of the Biden administration. Of course it did. I mean, you'd have to pardon your son, right? I think we talked about it at the time. Guess what? Scott Weiner is not done. flapping around politics. Oh, God. Because Nancy Pelosi has been quiet about what she wants to do in the future. He has already announced his bid for Congress running for her seat. The move sets the stage for what could be a very competitive primary between this young up-and-comer from the Democratic Party who has some of the craziest legislation in the state of California. But he says, I'm running to defend San Francisco, our values, our people, and the Constitution of the United States with everything I have. I've stood up to violence and hate my entire life. There is no FDA approved testosterone product for women. Insurance won't cover it. It doesn't make, it's not as funny to make fun of a guy's ass. Like, I keep trying to make it happen. But testosterone is giving women back things that they haven't had ever in some cases. The couple of women that were... documented in an article in the New York Times, take an amount of testosterone that has brought their levels higher than what women produce naturally at any point in their lifetime. This is interesting. Jessica Medina is 41. She lives in Orange County. She says, it changed my marriage. She's got four kids in the house. And sex is happening six times a week. She says, up from, how about never? She had to put a lock on the bedroom door. She said that she and her husband had attended a marriage. Oh, to keep the kids out. Right. Got it. She never. Just time out. Shouldn't there be a lock on the door already? Yes. Okay. She and her husband had attended a marriage growth group at church for years. But it took testosterone for their relationship to be this. The six times a week sex, this. She says she's a little less emotional, a little less sentimental than she used to be. But she doesn't have time for that kind of thing anyway. It's more like get stuff done, handle business, work out, have sex. Every guy is Googling testosterone and how can I get it delivered to my home by the close of business? How can I sneak it into my wife? How can I get this done right now? Just as estrogen is a crucial hormone for men, testosterone is important for women as well. It's instrumental in the development of bones and muscles and sexual function, but it peaks in women in their late teens and early 20s and then just declines. So much so that... By the age of 60, the level of testosterone in many women is about half. Men start out, for example, in young adulthood with 10 times the amount of testosterone of women, as is evidenced by what you're saying here. I mean, we grow hair, we think about sex all the time, we grow more hair, and we think about more sex all of the time. And if those are just two of the things... that testosterone can be credited with, perhaps. That's what you have to think about. With less available testosterone, women have fewer erotic thoughts. They have less motivation to pursue sexual pleasure. Some of the mechanisms that make sex feel good don't work as well. And for men experiencing the effects of low testosterone, things like low libido, low energy loss of muscle mass.

The FDA has all kinds of stuff on the market. Some things are going too far with testosterone. I assume you've got to kind of play around with what dose works for you, question mark. I don't know. I'm not a doctor. But the... There's one woman. She says, I went years with no sex drive. She's an influencer in Utah. She says after going on a high dose of testosterone that year, she rediscovered her attraction to her husband. She said, my body would heat up just from him walking in the room. Are you trying to figure out if that's what happens to your wife when you walk in the room? Okay. I have... I haven't watched this season that much of Real Housewives of Orange County, even though I'm a devotee. It fell off my radar. But apparently three of the shows women have described their testosterone regimens. And so at least one of them, Gretchen said she had to recently reduce her levels. She had to take hers down because she was humping everything. Her co-star, Jennifer Pedrante, commiserated, you'll just hump and hump and hump away. I like her, by the way, the new housewife. Which one? Jennifer Padranti. This doesn't come without the side effects, though. And that's the part. What are the side effects? Well, you turn into a teenage boy. But if you're just humping your husband. No, that's not all. You become argumentative. You start growing facial hair. Oh. You start having. More than I'm already growing? I was just a joke for women. They would rather have the wife that wants to jump into bed with them all the time and deal with the arguments as opposed to the wife that doesn't want to jump into bed with them and is emotional. But I don't know. I'm putting words in your mouth. But I don't know. But again, is this a new, this is a new thing. My grandmother didn't take testosterone to have sexy time with my grandfather, did she? So we don't know the long-term effects of this again. Yeah. What if you start growing, you know, balls or something? Then you'd be grandpa. Right. Yeah.

Well, we've talked a lot about what you do to your kids early on in life. They can screw them up pretty bad. And there is an article from Newsweek actually about child psychologists talking about some of those habits that we parents engage in that create adults who struggle. I love this quote. They said the intention is love, but the outcome is often dependency. By making things smoother and easier for our kids, we're accidentally making them more dependent on us. It's not really our intent. We're trying to take care of them. There's a... A generalization, the world is not an easy place to be, regardless of who you are, where you're born, what color your skin is, if you have money, you don't have money. The world is never an easy place to be. It can be made easier by some of those things kind of falling into place, but it's not easy. And the way parents try to make it easy a lot of times is by patting on the head and you're the greatest and you're so pretty and you're so cute and you're so smart. That is not what happens once they get out from under the parent. No one, I shouldn't say no one, very few people will walk by you and pat you on the head and say, you're so cute and you're the, it's like the difference between walking down Main Street USA and Topeka, Kansas and walking down 57th Street in Brooklyn. Is that? Sure. I don't even know if that's in Brooklyn, but where people are going to yell, get out of my effing way. What are you so, why are you so slow? What do you, I mean. That's what the world is more like. And if you try just to soothe your kids the whole time, they're going to get run over when they go to Brooklyn. Yeah, I don't feel like people are going out of their way to make me feel good. Right. You know what I mean? You guys are my friends and we all heard how this started. Like I just, I was, I was, I was overjoyed that there was a football game I was excited to see. We apologize. And you guys, like, immediately. We apologize. We don't have to apologize. We were very dismissive. This is part of the point we're making. I accept you for who you are. We don't often see genuine joy. Yeah. We don't know what to do with it. We don't know what to do it. It's more of protection for ourselves. Yeah. Yeah. This is your version of recoiling. I hate that we just pissed all over the joy. Like I love watching cats slap.

And the thing he did not like the most second grade thing he did not like the most was time because there was never enough of it kids seven years old and understands that time is a finite resource that he cannot get more of and i was like this is awesome his uh the fender well on his car like something knocked it on whack He completely shut him down. Couldn't figure it out. Didn't know, like had to call me. He was like, the car's making a noise. I don't know what's going on. I said, well, did you pull over and like look at the tires? He's like, no, I'll do that now. And he goes, oh, the plastic. It's all over the place. I'm like, well, it might have just getting knocked off. I said, try to clip it back in. Okay, all right. I think I got it. I go, okay, remind me tomorrow and we'll look at it in the morning. He slept in. He goes to his rehearsal the next day. It got worse. He's like, the tire is shaking. I can't do it. And I was in the middle of helping with the show. So he talked to his mom. I go out there, the plastic, it just folded under. I just pulled it out. And the car was completely drivable. He was, he barked his car in a red zone with hazards on. Like he was like, it was going to blow up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I don't know what's going to happen. He ran away from it. A little, there's a quote from this professor that we're talking about out of Toro University in New York. He says, a little discomfort today can build the psychological flexibility they will need tomorrow. And if I could say there is one like running theme from these segments that we've been doing over the years, right? It's this. that we have developed a parental society or culture that says, I need to try to make my kid feel good as much as I can. And the outcome of that is that we've removed their ability to deal with negative experiences. Yeah. Kids are so easily triggered, traumatized, all of that stuff because it's all a perspective, right? Is it a pushback then that so many of them are coming up with things that are hurdles? Ooh. Like you feel like you if you're a lawnmower parent and say we had went through a lawnmower parent generation of parents kind of getting rid of all the obstacles and now the kids are kind of psychologically hungry for an obstacle. Yeah. I think, I don't even think it's kids. I think it's people in general. Like I've seen anxiety or what have you. Not that's not real. You need some. As a human, you need a struggle. I don't know why. You need a struggle. You need a struggle. You need some kind of adversity. You need something to overcome. Right. Because that is where we get, I think, our prime dopamine release is that when you overcome that adversity, when you get through that difficult time on the other side, it feels amazing. And I think your brain is hardwired to.

find that even if you don't have it right to try to get you that fix maybe and so what's happening is it just seems like the bar for struggle is being lower and lower and lower like it doesn't it's not the same bar that i think it was for us but maybe that's just what every generation says i think it's probably what every generation thinks because everybody that i talk to thinks it's worse to be a kid today and i don't think so i think kids are nicer to each other than they ever were Yeah, they are nicer to the kids than they ever were. They know their first names now. It's a really, it's a big job we've made. It's a breakthrough. Three job skills. Every parent should be teaching their kid before AI takes over. Oh boy. Justin Worsham has joined us. So we're talking about some parenting issues. And a few things, AI is now going to creep into our lives much more so. It's put its foot in the door already and it's going to barge in here pretty quickly. And there are things that parents might want to start talking to their kids, teaching their kids about before AI really just holds them down and does bad things. I want to say that this is very pro AI. If you remember, I think it was a couple of weeks ago, maybe it was even last week that I talked about. Like in Asia, they are already embracing in the 80 percentile of parents embracing AI like parenting assistant. Sure. So, but what they're talking about here is these are the skill sets that you're going to need. your kid to have in an AI like generation so they need you need to teach your teens the art of communication and storytelling with data so they're going to use AI to generate data in order to uh be able to like humanize it and provide a narrative or a story that you can sell with it they said uh this is As per a 2024 study by Pew Research, written and spoken communication skills and critical thinking skills are rated extremely at very important by around 85% of workers in 2024 National. I'm messing this up. What I'm trying to say is that they're saying that there's going to be this huge jump in what people are going to need to know how to interface with AI. That's the better way to say that than what I just did. And at this point, the vast majority of us have just barely dipped our toe into it, like write a funny song about the Blue Jays. using O Canada as the basis, but instead of O Canada, make it say screw Canada. Yep. And then that's it. That's all we do. We don't ask it to go through and compare this year's Q4 incomes to the previous 10 years of Q4 and figure out what went wrong and why this year was different than the other years or something like that. And then they also talk about needing able, being able to develop critical thinking. in telling what AI is giving you, is it fact or fiction? So you have to go back and double check the resource. I wouldn't have any clue how to try to instruct my kids one way or the other. And my kids are old enough now that they know that it, they know what it is. Yep. But how would you even begin to tell them, hey, that video of Donald Trump flying an F-35 is not real? Well, they see it and they go, but it's on this device. You know, sometimes you have to use your own experience in life. Like when you tell your kids that you actually didn't fly that plane.

Remember when I looked like I flew that plane kids? They gave me an outfit. They put me in the plane. I looked like I flew that plane and I didn't fly that plane either, kids. I flew it for seconds. I was going to say, I saw you, I feel like I saw that video. You don't need to do that. We all know he didn't really fly the plane. I flew the plane for a few seconds. Yeah, that's. Yeah. I didn't have to take off. No, nor did I have to land it. Doesn't mean you didn't fly the plane. But I grabbed the wheel halfway down the freeway. That's right. I mean, it's a stick, I think. But. You know, true. Maybe they call it wheel when you're an actual pilot like you. Did you get to touch the stick? Excuse me? Yes, I put the thing in a barrel roll. You've seen the video. Sorry. No, you're not. You left that door wide open. No, I feel like. How do I tell my kids? He wasn't really flying the plane. I don't. Oh, well, okay. You know what? I was going to say, I felt like you kicked in that door, like somebody serving an arrest warrant. But when you tell it that way, that does, I guess. I did kind of open it. I didn't at least unlock it. Actually, no, I'm going to backtrack. This is her, like, spinning it. You were just having a conversation. And these conversational moments for her, the way her brain is wired, go off like fireworks. It's like a flare if you're a down boat in the ocean for the Coast Guard. She sees it go off and goes, there's my moment. And she jumps in it. Attack, attack, attack. Always leaning forward. She's always leaning forward. It's like Caesar Milan says dogs that see red. Like you just, you can't help yourself. It's just a visceral reaction that you have. Be like, I can ridicule him about this. It's wide open. You did this. You did this to yourself, Hoffman. You can't, you know who I am. Have your kids used AI yet to cheat? Yes, I was going to say last night, my son, or not last night, the night before, I was going to say good night. I go, you got everything done, right? And he was like, he goes, oh, no. I go, what? He goes, I have to write a speech. And I go, Jacob. And he goes, he goes, that's okay. I could use AI. And he came in and he goes, look at this, like AI. And he had it done in less than five minutes. What was it in a speech on? I don't know. He decided. That would be funny. It's just in a feedback loop right now. No, he's playing Hades in Hades Town in like a local children's theater production. And so he decided to do a speech from his character, from the perspective of his character. And he used AI to kind of give him a launching point. And then he goes in and he cleans it up. But he also came in and wrote this Carnegie, not Dale. Andrew. Andrew Carnegie. His history teacher did this cool thing where he said, you guys are going to pick up figure. And then you have to debate. So you have to learn about the perspective of your historic figure. And then you're going to debate somebody. So he was Andrew Carnegie and he debated like a prominent feminist person. I don't know who that is. That sounds like fun. It was fun. It was a great idea. And he loved it. And he wrote like this very eloquent thing. And so he came in. He goes, look at this. And I was like, who said that? He goes, I did.

And I go, what do you mean you did? I go, oh, you used AI to write something in the way that Andrew Carter? He's like, no, I wrote it. And it sounded like a presidential speech. Like it was beautiful. And I go, you didn't use AI at all for that? He's like, no. And he looked at me like, why would you say that? And I'm like, if it had happened in the other order, then I could use that example. But that was before he said last night, I used AI to write this. It's so much fun listening to your kids grow up. I'd say watching your kids, but I don't watch them. It's just kind of fun to hear all the anecdotes you bring us. Oh, good. I love it. I'm in a phase right now where I'm really liking it. I'm liking the teenage parenting. I think I've gone through phases. Middle school sucks. I still stand by that. Totally. But this is getting nicer and fun. Like I get to play with them. I don't know if I'm being a bad parent because I don't think it's so bad that they're using AI. I think it's a tool they're going to have to use. Of course, it's not going anywhere. I do my job of being the old guy with his pants up around his sternum, and I have to shake my head and roll my eyes and go, well, I don't know. Make sure you know how to really do it. But, I mean, I'm also a guy who uses a GPS to go to the grocery store. So do I have any credibility? Probably not. Thank you, Justin.
