A small electrical problem forces Air Force One to turn around 45 minutes into its flight to Switzerland. Tony Katz, 93 WIBC, good morning. That does not happen every day. And you're right to say, really? Yes. That is, um, I guess one could argue the rarer stuff taking place right there. They noticed the lights went out in the press cabin. And they said, okay, we're going to turn around and get on a different plane. And Karoline Leavitt's joking, saying, thank goodness we've got a $400 million plane from Qatar. It's still not funny. It's the Qataris, spending millions upon millions to lobby our government. It's a problem. But there's a series of problems. Getting hit from all sides. You've got to be aware of what's happening. So I assume by now the president has already halfway or further on his way to Davos, where they have the World Economic Forum, where it has been certainly an interesting reception. How dare you say this about Greenland? How dare you go after Greenland? Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada. It's a whole new world and we have to rethink allegiances, okay? I am still amazed by the people who are amazed that other world leaders and other nations aren't just falling in line. What do you think? What do you think is going to happen? You're playing a high-risk game. You're trying to get a result. I believe all this with Greenland is absolutely posturing, by the way. I made my argument yesterday. There's a deal to be made. It's just a question of how it's made. Now, if Trump walks away with no Greenland, after all this, that can be seen as weakness. For sure. But everything is in the realm of the Europeans know that you can't let Greenland fall to Russia and the Chinese. Everybody knows this. So what are we actually discussing here? This has been an attempt over the years, and in past years, the problem could have been seen as theoretical. The problem is here. actual and it's been here for a while. As a matter of fact, it's amazing there hasn't been more push from China and Russia to get Greenland. And they're not going to be so nice about it. And certainly life for the Europeans gets worse if they do. So I think that this is all just much to do about nothing. Trump's maximum pressure campaign, people reacting and responding in a way so they can look good to their bases at home because all politics are local. But Mark Carney's commentary, that's worthy of discussion. Exactly, what have the tariffs rock?

Because it would seem with Carney, we have an unrepairable, unrepairable, unrepairable, relationship. That's the way he's kind of playing it right now. But then again, he could just be trying to engage his own maximum leverage conversation, see if he can't get a deal to come back in the good graces. When you create the world where everything's a negotiation, everything is. So the situation in Davos is tense. Let's go with tense. Tony Katz. 93 WIBC. Good morning. Good to be here. Good to be with you. I again say that this is written in the wind. And this is all much ado about nothing. This whole conversation regarding Greenland. But there are other things that get discussed there. And this is, by the way, part of the problem. The problem is there are those in our midst who don't see the world the way we do. Now, that's been true throughout time. But the people who don't see the world the way we do, one has to ask, how do they see it? And that they see is the idea of world government, the idea of why do we have this evil capitalism, we have enough wealth, and we can make sure everybody is taken care of. We've all seen that... Sometimes when people gain success, gain dollars, or come from dollars, there is this belief that somehow they know, that they are instilled with secret knowledge. Now, it isn't just people who have dollars. It is very often people who have nothing. Same concept applies. They know what's best. They know how to treat people. Now, the people with dollars, they do things that you can do with dollars, and the people without dollars, they become community organizers. But it's the same mathematics that's going along. So these are the issues, the things that get discussed in places like Davos, the people there discussing them are people who believe that they know best.

So to see that Trump, the Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnick, you have Scott Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, they're going, they're there. It's an interesting show of force, if you will. And it has, to me, I've been a little bit surprising. that they all decided to be there. They're not saying, no, we don't need to talk to these people. They're right there in their face. People like Howard Lutnick saying to Davos that your system has failed. What it is you keep attempting absolutely does not work. We should put an end to this nonsense. On things like, for example, green, a New Deal, green energy, green madness, et cetera. His quote, globalization is a failed policy. That is a good thing to have said. Now, I said of Howard Lutnick when he became Commerce Secretary that this is the guy who will end up taking the fall if things go south. He's the loudmouth. He's the guy who runs on emotion. He also has an incredible or fascinating, I should say personal story. And so far he's still there. Letting Scott Bessent take most of the credit and do most of the talking and then being there for, you know, dropping hammers. But this concept of globalization is one that affects all of us. these people who believe they know best because their infiltration has been successful through, for example, academia, which leads us to a walkout that happened across the country yesterday in schools, including locally. I know that it happens at Carmel High School. I'll get into that. Because there's a real question that administrators have to answer. And that question is, what exactly do you do here? Oh, don't worry. Next time I visit the school, I will have people give me dirty looks. What are you going to do? What are you going to do? Not have the conversation, honestly? That sounds nuts. Now, there are other things going on outside of Davos, but there's going to be a lot of news that comes from there later today. Trump, I don't know if he speaks today or tomorrow. But one of the stories is that the Chinese might be actually buying soybeans, which is great news for farmers. IBJ with the story, they fulfilled an initial commitment to buy 12 million metric tons of soybeans from the U.S. Now, is this going to last? Don't know. When you've got tariffs here and then tariffs there and the tariff comes off and tariff goes back on, tariff gets maneuver, it creates. a bit of uncertainty, and the shift in trade policy, here's the argument, creates high production costs. I would need our farmers to tell me that Trump's, you know, leapfrog tariff game is freaking them out. I would accept it. I'm not saying it's not happening. I just want to hear how.

So if you change trade policy, it could change how China acts and reacts, and then maybe they don't buy the soybeans. They're supposed to buy 25 million metric tons of soybeans every year for the next three years. They've already bought 12. They're halfway there. Almost living on a prayer. Take my hand. Sorry. I'm sorry. It's the jersey in me. I went full Bon Jovi. Right now, I'm wearing leather pants. And then President Trump decided to take a punch at SCOTUS. But he's not taking a punch at SCOTUS. These headlines were, I think, poorly written. Trump calls out Supreme Court justices after trans athlete hearing. He's not calling out the justices. He's calling out Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. because in these two cases that we heard out of Idaho and out of West Virginia, you would get the sense that the liberal judges, these liberal justices, always these liberal justices, seem to think that it's okay for men to say their women, boys, to say their girls. And Trump is saying this is something that we ended because yesterday he took to the Oval, I'm sorry, not the Oval, the White House press briefing room, And he starts going through, hey, check out all my accomplishments. The guy tried to steal my act. I'm going to be doing this Saturday. Trump one year later, the highs, the lows, how he win the midterms. And for anybody who had an issue over the weekend, like somehow the, where you get the tickets, the site got like shut off. Don't, don't ask. Don't ask how it happens. Everything's working. And you can still get tickets. Like, I'm extending it out. I'm not worrying about it. Because I felt awful. I got calls like, hey, what's going on here? What's this all about? Toyota, let's go places. Exactly how long does the NFL want a season to be? This was over there at NBC Sports, where Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, to play Kate. They, I'm not over it. They are talking about, he's talking about what the NFL is looking to do, and what they're looking to do is 18 regular season games. Tony Katz. 93 WIBC, good morning, great to be with you. But it's 18 regular season games, two preseason games, and every team every year will play one game overseas. So this experiment into Europe is not an experiment as much as it is the future of the NFL. So now I've got a series of questions for Mr. Kraft. If it's an 18 regular season game, regular game season, 18 game season, is that one bi-week or two? How many by-week do these guys get to repair their bodies? Because you've now added a second game. You've gotten rid of a pre-season game, so the ability to get tuned up, to see players, to be able to make determinations, that happens in the regular season. Not beforehand. So now what is the expectation of coaches and exactly how much ramp do we give them now? If every team is going to play one game overseas, you mean talking about taking away a home game from everybody overseas? From everybody to play overseas? So... Can I ask why any city would spend a billion plus dollars to build a stadium for a team that isn't even going to play there a full season? You just want to be overseas anyway, so why are we putting any money in? And I'm the guy in favor of bringing the Bears to Northwest Indiana. Not if we're covering the total cost of the stadium, though. No, no, no, the bears have to put skin in the game. That was my position from the beginning, and it still is. I'm willing to do a lot. I am not like others who are a no to everything. All of a sudden, everybody in Indiana is Thomas Massie. But you're going to change this all around. Okay, I get what you're trying to do. We're going to start seeing player contracts that are in the 5, 600 million range. You're adding more games. And then, as Fingers Malloy would discuss, my co-host on Eat, Drink, Smoke, and you'll hear about this this weekend. What are you going to do about the Thursday games? The Sunday to Thursday turnaround. Is that still the best thing we should be doing? Add another game, remove preseason games. You want these guys to do overseas travel, and now you want them to do four-day turnarounds? Three-day turnarounds? Yeah, all of a sudden, I've never been this guy. All of a sudden, I'm like, the players aren't getting paid enough. NFL wants things, but I don't think, I'm questioning how they're going to make all these things happen without concessions and some other places. Starting with cities, what are we putting money in stadiums for if the guys don't even play here? Love an answer to that question. I'll take it from the Earth saves. I'll take it from the crafts. It's half the building's tenant. The landlord's saying he rarely sees anyone for most of the companies except when they pay rent. They show up, they drop up a check they leave. It's a front. It's not even a front. Usually you've got to help people work at a front. Some guys work the bodega while the other guys are counting whatever it is. They're counting in the back. That's usually the way it goes. Good Lord. We all of a sudden we took what's going on, Minnesota off the front page because we had to get into something else. It's got to at least be there every day until charges come. And the charges have to come all over the place. And yes, if you are from Somalia, you can get charged. And if you're from Sheboygan, you can get charged. And no one is immune if they've engaged in violating the law. And no one is special. And it's not racism. It's not bigotry. And oh, stop it already. We have determined that fraud, easy to see, is somehow a subject that we can't address together because we have to make it political. That's the desire. If they're on our side, nothing has ever gone wrong. If they're on your side, they have to die. Which is no way to run a country, by the way.

This goes to what happened with Don Lemon and these Bolshevik protesters who went into a church and disrupted church services. They're lying left and right. We didn't stop anybody from praying. Of course you did. You were asked to leave. You didn't leave. You were intimidating children. You were intimidating women. And one of you said, hey, if you get tough with me, if you push back on me, I'll start a fight. First of all, buy guns, by ammo, get trained, and you better show up to your house of worship ready to go. These people will not stop. They are violent people. Where are the charges? Now you say to me, Tony, it's going to take a while for charges. You've got to build a case. Okay. Where are the arrests? We saw what happened. Where are the arrests? Well, you don't arrest them because that's what they want. What do you mean that's what they want? I don't care what they want. It's a very weird thing. Oh, no, no, you can't react because you see, that's what they want. When you're talking about a troll on social media, yeah. When you're talking about people violating the First Amendment and intimidating Christians, I don't care what they want. They go to jail. You would be arrested. You would be arrested. Go to your local supermarket and start screaming at people. Let's see what happens. And that's just a supermarket. You were a little inconvenienced while buying a half loaf. This is church.

We're gonna simply sit by in America while Christians aren't allowed to pray? No, no, no, no. We said this during COVID and there's a police taking down license plates of people parked at their church. You understand that if you're a cop and you actually took down license plate numbers at churches during COVID, you should be ashamed of who you are as a person. Oh, don't tell me about your tough job or following orders or anything. No, no, no, no, no, no. You actually took down license plates of people going to church? Because they were praying? You didn't have reason to think they were in there creating some kind of organization to take down American society. Well, that would be different. These people said, yeah, there's a virus, but you know. We've got this deal with God and we're going to stick with it if that's all right by you. And we're in the country that says, you go stick with your deals. We're taking down license plate numbers. So gross. Where are the arrests? You don't have charges? Where are the arrests? Where's the questioning? Where is anything that makes me believe that we don't live in a country where if the political right does it, Their whole world is over when the political left does it. Oh, well. I don't want to hear Pam Bondi. I don't want to hear Harmeet Dylan. And I'm disgusted with Pam Bondi. I'm not disgusted with Harmeet Dylan at all. I just don't want to hear the, uh, it's coming or working on it or the tough guy stance. I want the action. And I didn't say to make up the action. We saw what happened. Go. There's video everywhere. They showed their faces. They gave their names. I don't know what else you need. But if you want me to, I'll draw you a map. That way you can find them. Fraud is happening.
