You still have to be tough. These are criminals. We're dealing with really hard criminals. President Trump on NBC last night talking about changes to ICE operations in Minneapolis while still deporting criminal illegal aliens. We will have the entire interview on our Facebook and X page in the 6 o'clock hour. Borders Art Tom Homan announced that 700 officers were being pulled back. Not enough, though, for Democrat Minneapolis mayor, Jacob Frey. The continued presence of 2,000 federal agents in a city that only has 600 police officers is still not de-escalation. Fry on CNN, more on DHS funding at 530 with the deadline looming late next week. The man charged with trying to assassinate President Trump in Florida two years ago gets life in prison, but the case isn't over. I think the judge may have mistakenly applied the federal crime of terrorism enhancement, and that will be probably the leading issue on appeal.

Martin Roth, the defense attorney for Ryan Ralph. It's now 503. The midterm campaign, while you know it's already underway, and the GOP is looking to find ways to win voters over the way Donald Trump does. So why don't Republicans enjoy the same success? People vote for people. And I think that at the end of the day, voters are skeptical of both parties and rightfully so. That's Aaron Evans, president of winning Republican strategies. The Republican Party certainly has work to do around the country, but ultimately candidates have to on the race, on the moment, and inspire them to go get off the couch and go vote for them, give them something to get excited about. Which he says needs to happen before the midterms. Jeff Andy Biggs News Radio 740, KTRH. Trump has around $375 million in his political war chest to help the effort. Former Trump campaign staffer Mike Hahn says the money lets him go to rallies and invest in advertisements. in a way no president has done before. He has a war trust that's much larger than any of the established Democrat committees right now. So the president alone is going to be able to really be a kingmaker, for lack of a better term, in a lot of different elections, but the amount of money he has and the amount of resources that he's going to be able to spend it on. He adds that the DNC being in $3 million of debt helps. In Texas, after months of silence, Trump might be about to get into the Republican race for U.S. Senate between John Cornyn, Ken Paxton, and Wesley Hunt. He may have been shocked into endorsing John Cornyn after a recent special election loss. Did he get spooked by the election results in SD9? That's concerning the Texas Senate race is not SD9. Former Texas GOP chairman Matt Rinaldi says endorsing John Cornyn just to win Texas's Senate seat would be a mistake. Not only do I think it would hurt Trump's standing among Texas Republicans. I think people would be disappointed because Texas Republicans overwhelmingly support Ken Paxton. Rinaldi also says polling doesn't show that John Cornyn would perform. better than Ken Paxton in a general election. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. That said, Texas Democrats are trash talking after that state Senate win last week. Political analyst Jeff Creweir. I think in Texas, Republicans should be able to pull it through for the statewide elections, but they can't be complacent. And they need to do a much better job than they did in this special election where it was just a disaster. So hopefully it's the wake-up call they needed. The last time a Texas Democrat won statewide office was in 1994. At 505, Governor Greg Abbott was in Houston to pick up the endorsement of some local unions. He turned his attention to... Cracking down on anti-ice school protests. Those children are in school getting the education they're supposed to be getting and making sure that parents are reassured. Their children are not wandering around some street somewhere, but instead are where parents think they are, and that's in the classroom getting an education. The state has appointed Levi Fuller as Inspector General for educator misconduct to look into the role teachers might be playing in all of this.

More crime. A 13-year-old girl in Houston is dead, allegedly stabbed by a 10-year-old who turned himself in. They're claiming that the 13-year-old was among about 20 to 30 people that came over and started assaulting people in that apartment, and that he stabbed her in self-defense. Harris County DA's office will decide on charges. Elsewhere, a couple of railroad workers were injured in a robbery and shooting in Houston's fifth ward. Both are recovering in the hospital. Meantime, the search for Nancy Guthrie continues with Savannah Guthrie going public, pleading for the safe return of her mother. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again. President Trump has directed federal law enforcement to assist in the search, now in day five. The Rockets lose to the Celtics, 114 to 93. That snaps their three-game winning streak. The team host Charlotte Tonight, pre-game at six on Sports Talk 790. College Hoops, UH, beats UCF. 79 to 55. You know what else you can't hurry? You can't hurry the Supreme Court. Still no ruling on tariffs. Still no ruling on tariffs. But they did rule in favor of California. As it relates to the new California congressional map, which honestly doesn't surprise me. Really? I'm not surprised by that. After all, it was approved by those voters in California. Did you notice I resist the temptation to throw an expletive before I said voters in California? That wasn't easy to do. So basically what California did is they negated what we did in Texas. We're back to the same thing we had. We think there's no guarantee in either case. More likely in California, there's a guarantee that those five seats will be Democrat seats for California. There's not 100% guaranteed that the five new congressional seats here in Texas will end up on the Republican side. because after all it is a midterm election and we already know it's like for whatever reason it's like fighting with one hand tie behind your back because you're dealing with people who whose knowledge of just about everything is pretty basic yeah they hear what they hear they hear what they want to hear they hear what they hear from other people They don't really pay much attention to the news. When they do pay attention to the news, it's usually repeating a talking point coming from a liberal member of the media. That makes it all of very much an uphill battle when it comes to the midterm elections. So the Supreme Court, though, allowed California to use the new voter-approved congressional map, which, of course, favors Democrats, as you knew it would. Samuel Alito and Lito previously noted that both California and Texas had adopted new maps for political advantage.

which the court has ruled cannot be the basis for a federal lawsuit. Republicans in the administration claimed the California map improperly relied on race, but a lower court disagree by two to one vote. The order keeps in place, districts designed to flip up to five seats held by Republicans, part of that nationwide redistricting battles spurred by President Trump with the control of Congress at stake in the midterm elections. So here's the question. Because it all kind of stopped with California and Texas as far as redistricting. There are other Republican-controlled states that had also talked about the possibility of redistricting and for whatever reason held off. Well, so far it's a mystery of what happened to Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, 84-year-old woman abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home. We know that I made, I guess I'm like everybody else. I'm prone to making you trying to sleuth these things out, right, and trying to figure out what makes sense to me. And somehow in my mind, I'm thinking cartel. I'm thinking it's got something to do maybe with the cartel. Tucson, Arizona, not that far from the border with Mexico. You know, they deal in human trafficking all the time. Maybe they want to send a message about, you know, shutting down the border and trying to cut down on their drug operations. Maybe that's what this is about. But at the end of the day,

You always have to, even though the police have yet to name a person of interest, which is kind of like labeling a, we think this person did it? When you say person of interest, they get to name anybody yet. But the name that keeps popping up, Ashley Banfield over at News Nation, I guess, had one single source that said they're looking at the son-in-law, not Savannah Guthrie's husband, but her sister's husband as a possible suspect. And it makes sense from the standpoint of, you know, family members are always the first suspect you take a look at. Here is former FBI profiler James Fitzgerald talking about the son-in-law theory. When we started yesterday. talking you and i uh victimology was the first term i mentioned and in victimology we said family friends then we broke it down to you know repairmen and and visitors of the house whatever uh and family always has to go first and actually brought it up to concentric circles you know 80 to 85 percent of murders are committed by someone who knows the victim how well they know them you know, in passing tangentially, or actually, you know, a close, you know, very specific close family member. So it's nothing unusual about family members being looked into in this sort of investigation. Impounding a car, either through consent of your, of the owner, or certainly with a search warrant, which covers them more legally down the line. Those would ever go to trial or pretrial motions, whatever, you know, makes the most sense there. So they must have had probable cause for something. to bring in this car and consider this person. If they did it be a warrant. She's not sure whether he just gave it over. Sure. They would sign the consent forms. I've done that hundreds of times in my law enforcement career. People have nothing to hide. Or even if they do sometimes, they would still sign the property over whatever it is. So in a consent form. So that happens all the time. And I'm a linguist too. We can talk about that a little bit later with maybe these alleged ransom letters. Yeah, we definitely want to get to that. Interesting qualifier that this word may, may be a prime suspect. And I get it, the source, whoever it is, is sort of covering their tracks in that regard, because maybe they're very close, but not that close, but they have more information than that. But again, quite frankly, looking at an immediate family member would not be that unusual. Now, why they were perhaps interviewing one or more family members, the sister, the brother-in-law, perhaps they were also running cell phone tower checks, and they see some activity. late, you know, two in the morning, Sunday morning. So let me ask you that. Part of the probable cause. You know, at 2 o'clock in the morning, it's not a repair man, right? It's not a repairman. That much we know for sure. That limits the possibilities. Also, whoever the person is familiar with the home because they knew where all the security cameras were and how to disable those. 527, it is time to take a look at your money.

Good morning, Texas Instruments is acquiring chip company Silicon Laboratories in a deal valued at $7.5 billion. Silicon's chips are used by makers of everything from smart home gear and industrial automation to battery storage and commercial lighting. Last week, Texas Instruments issued a surprisingly strong sales forecast suggesting demand from industrial customers and carmakers are recovering. Senate Majority Leader John Thune on Fox, the deadline to fund DHS are going to yet another partial government shutdown is late next week. The odds makers at Polly Markets say you've got a 56% chance at a shutdown. It would be the third since October. Meantime, the administration is taking a victory lap over shutting the border down, a near complete reversal of the Biden border issues. Customs and border protection has recorded the lowest number of encounters in the agency's history in 2025. Daily encounters have fallen by 95% over the last year. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem in Arizona.

Tom Homan announced that 700 ICE officers would leave Minneapolis, but that 2,000 would remain and that the investigation into fraud would continue. That whole fraud scheme, it's what started everything in that sanctuary city, and it was all the subject of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday. Customs and Border Protection has... Is there any chance the elected Democrats in charge of the state were unaware of the fraud? No. There have been credible whistleblower allegations, press reports, and Office of Legislative Auditor reports for many years. Texas Senator Ted Cruz elsewhere in D.C. fireworks at a House hearing yesterday. about President Trump's tariffs. 10 and 20 million immigrants. Can you shut up the housing stock of working Americans? And can you maintain some level of digging? The government's time has expired. Mike dropped moment for Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who clapped back at Democrat vaccine Waters, who wanted him to, quote, shut up. So how was the economy really doing under President Trump? Well, Fox's Liz Peek says, is economic wins a real? The American people just don't know it. The economy is growing rapidly. I mean, we've had plus 4% or more. The last quarter was really a barn burner. Inflation has come down and productivity is up, investment is up. But she says the message from the media and Democrats is down, and that is now up to the White House to turn that narrative around. This morning, overnight futures are flat after the Dow gained 260 points in trading yesterday. Meantime, the January jobs report was supposed to come out tomorrow. It's delayed until next Wednesday because of the most recent Democrat shutdown. A new report shows that the nation's supply of beef cows is dropping more than predicted. It's at a 75-year low. Fewer cows means higher prices for you at the supermarket. We've been basically at record high levels of retail beef prices, and I think that's going to continue. David Anderson at Texas A&M says that a month's long drought is one of the reasons for the decline. It affects rancher's ability to expand. 534, more money issues for the city of Houston. Controller Chris Holland says we are on track to spend another $55 million on overtime for police and solid waste, and it's going to take years to fix this. I think we really need that like people who are going to start looking at that long-term picture. What does it take to make this city sustainable for the next 50 years, 60 years, 70 years, rather than one term? Charles Blaine with urban reform says the issue of under budgeting and overspending. It's been around ever since Sylvester Turner was mayor and that John Whitmire, the current mayor, is trying to fix it. The Greater Houston Partnership estimates that Houston will add almost 31,000 new oil and gas jobs this year, but it's also warning of those jobs shrinking. This does not mean that there is trouble ahead.

We've seen some low prices, and usually when that happens, you definitely see some consolidation. But at the same time, you're seeing incredible economic growth because of these low energy prices. Market analyst Phil Flynn, oil futures this morning are at $64.46 a barrel. 535, a new retirement living survey says Pasadena is one of the best places to retire to in Texas. Median rent there, $1,300 a month. Below the statewide average of nearly 1900 a month, economist Dr. JD Vance Ginn. Whether it be their house, their food, and other things. And so it oftentimes gives a better place to retire, spend time with grandkids. Pasadena also gets high scores for access to health care and safety. There's a warning about your retirement, though. The money in your safe savings account could disappear overnight. This happens when an account looks abandoned. The funds go into what's called an asheatement process. Financial planner Richard Rosso says this occurs when the bank can't reach you for a very long time. And then you have to go through the state to go ahead and retrieve it. And this money is pretty much on file almost forever. Some institutions wait as long as six years. Companies do a lot of due diligence to try to find the owner before they sheet the asset. If you're traveling, here's the thing. If you're traveling on the company dime, I don't know how many of you have expense reports where you work. But if you're traveling on the company dime, then you have to follow company policy. And evidently, Cracker Barrels have this policy for a long time. We prefer that you eat at one of our restaurants if possible to do so. We also do not believe in buying you a bunch of alcohol. So there's going to be a limit as far as how much we're going to reimburse you. None of this is unusual, I don't believe. Most companies have a very strict policy about what you can expense and what you can expense. If you are somebody who's interested in GLP ones, you know, the injection scares some people. They're afraid of the shot. If you're needlephobic, you may be somebody who's thought about taking like a Dresepitide or one of these other GLP ones, but you're afraid of, you know, the injection. Now, virtually all these drugs are becoming available in pills. Some of them now, they're experimenting with a once a month dose. Here's the CEO of Pfizer talking about this new treatment for obesity. Of course, we are very confident about it, actually. The results today confirmed that enhanced our confidence. 20 studies, as you said, it is probably one of the largest programs that Pfizer has ever done, as long as I remember, starting in one year, 20 studies for obesity. Ten of them will be phase three, which are very big expensive studies. The reason why we are doing that, it is, first of all, because the market is very, very big, the need. It's very, very high. And the acid is relatively derisked. The class delivers and the results from this molecule that we are having also is very, very robust. So we are embarking into that. And today's results demonstrated that we have a monthly product. with very high, with very competitive tolerability and efficacy. And that's great news because, of course, monthly versus weekly makes a big difference. Of course it does, certainly with the same side effects, but less of the shots. We are seeing, though, in the market, though, there is a lot of excitement around the pills, the oral pills. Do you have any plans for that? I think the orals will be a very important play. I believe that oral. probably will go into people that they are afraid of the needle. They don't want to do injections. And that's a very significant segment. We have orals from the Pfizer pipeline and we have orals. form the Mechera pipeline that they are advancing right now. The injectables, which is like the ones that we have shown data today, but also combination products with amylins that we expect to have even higher efficacy, better tolerability with a monthly dose again. And then we have a new molecule that hopefully could be three months or two months. We are waiting to see how the data will show up. We'll play a significant role.

in switching also patients that already are in ZLP once into the monthly maintenance dose. We are going to make lots and lots of money is what we are going to do with these pills. Major distinctions, I think, between the two parties of, obviously what both parties are focused on, the Republican parties very clearly focused on putting America first and reducing crime and improving the economy. The Democrat Party really has become this party of championing if you're illegal, if you're a criminal, if you want to, you know, deny science. that's your party. And so, you know, I think that the brands for the two are totally distinct. And then obviously we've got President Trump leading with his bold vision and agenda. I think probably one of the reasons why the brands are very distinct from each other. There's no clear direction within the Republican Party. There's a clear direction with the president. I mean, the MAGA direction is pretty clear. But there are a lot of Republicans that are not necessarily on board with MAGA. I know, for example, Representative Michael Lauder is now introducing a bill. I think I'm trying to remember the Dignity Act is what he calls it, but basically it gives amnesty to 25 million illegals living in the United States if they jump through certain hoops. And I don't think that would be the MAGA brand, certainly, is it relates to dealing with illegals. But it's a brand for at least part of the Republican Party. Yeah, you know, and I think you've got that where you have these Republicans in blue leaning districts that feel like the only way that they can stay in office is to basically be Democrat light. I personally think that's a misnomer and a bad strategy because ultimately if somebody wants a Democrat, they're going to elect a Democrat. But, you know, look, I think that one of the biggest challenges we have right now, really in moving forward, the America First agenda, you know, You know, it's guys on the left side of the party who are presenting bills and voting like Democrats. And then it's, you know, it's guys on the far right of the party who oppose President Trump's agenda from other aspects. And, you know, we need to, we need to really.

refocus and make sure in this year before the midterms that we're a unified party and we're implementing the president's agenda well it is crazy it sounds i think the republicans are probably more united than they they ever have been in recent history they're not completely united they're not like they're not like the democrats walking in lockstep with each other and i don't know that your typical republican voter necessarily wants them to walk in lockstep do they i don't think they mind a certain amount of questioning of whatever it is the president wants to do. I mean, this should not be a rubber stamp by Republicans. No, and I do think that at the end of the day, I think there's two dynamics there. One is America overwhelmingly, you know, said we want the president's agenda. So I do think that there's a mandate there. But secondly, look, I do think that that's one big difference between the two parties is, you know, we are the party of independent thinking, the party of liberty, the party of individuality. And I think that, you know, that's healthy in governance. It's the reason we have. members of congress and we don't have a king where we don't have you know a you know a monarch and so um i think the debate is healthy and but at the end of the day let's get the big stuff done you know let's let's quit politicking and start doing and i think that that's We've accomplished a lot as a party. And to your point, it's been largely due to President Trump's leadership. You know, it's been one of the, probably one of the most in-sync, you know, Congresses we've had. Meantime, the man charged with trying to assassinate Trump in Florida two years ago gets life in prison. He's going to appeal. 603 Republicans have a problem to solve before November. Aaron Evans, with winning Republican strategy, says that Trump's success with voters doesn't translate down ballot.

These aren't people that are coming out in masses because they think the Republican Party is great. They're coming out in masses because they believe in the vision and the person of Donald Trump. And so that is the challenge for a lot of these down ballot races around the country. Including here in Texas, where Evan says Republicans can't take votes or voters for granted. Trump has hundreds of millions in his political war chest as the Republicans prepare for the campaign. Fundraising and super PACs have helped Trump raise around $375 million, while the Dems struggle. The BNC has $14 million on hand, but they're close to $17 million in debt, I believe. So the Democrats are in a lot of trouble in the money game. Former Trump campaign staffer Mike Hahn says this money will make a huge difference, mostly because Trump wields great influence, even when not on the ballot. He's going to be able to attend rallies all across the country. He's going to be able to pay for different advertisements for different folks that he's supporting across. the country. He says Trump alone can be a kingmaker in multiple races. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTRH. Here at home, Trump's hinting he might be making an endorsement in the Republican Senate primary, but after waiting so long to weigh in, there are questions about... That endorsement's effectiveness. I think Ken Paxton will win with or without Trump's endorsement, but certainly Trump jumping on the bandwagon and supporting Ken Paxton. I think it'll help in the general election. Former Texas GOP chair Matt Rinaldi. That win, by the way, in North Texas last week, the shocking win in the state Senate, as Democrats here talking a lot of trash. Dems are vowing to go on offense this fall in an effort to turn Texas blue after their shocking win in a special election for a state Senate seat in North Texas. Political analyst Jeff Creweir says winning a statewide race will be a much harder task. I still think Republicans are in the driver's seat in Texas. I'm worried about what's going on across the country in some swing districts where I think the Republicans are really losing ground with independence and Democrats are really creating an edge. He believes Republicans need to get far better organized and motivated or risk losing Congress in the mid-term. Cory Olson, News Radio 740, KTRH. And, you know, they talk like real people who understand the business, unlike politicians, you know, that think we can run the energy industry on wind and solar and the ferry dust. Yeah, my favorite part, my favorite dialogue that Billy Bob Thornton has had on that show, though, is when he does that explanation of what is made from oil and gas and why you will never get rid of it and why it will always be around. I mean, he says in basically about a minute and a half worth of dialogue, he says it all about the fact that we are always going to be relying on oil. Oil's not going anywhere. Absolutely. You know, I always kid the kids and say, oh, we're against oil. I'll say, well, you're wearing oil products right now. Your iPhone, everything else, the clothes, you know, your workout outfit, you know, the road that you drove in on is all made with oil. Absolutely. You know, and the other thing I thought it was funny, it's like when he was talking to the other characters saying, well, you know, look at the wooden firm. See, we can do that. And he's like, the only reason they're here is because we couldn't run a line out from the power. Believe me, he goes, if the oil and gas industry thought they could make money on wind firms, they'd be up in every corner of the earth, right? Anyway, but it's just a reality check for sure. Well, speaking of reality checks, let's talk a little bit about Houston reportedly losing thousands of oil and gas jobs. I said at the onset of this, I'm sure some of the fact that the numbers of jobs are going down have everything to do with running a smarter, tighter, more efficient business. That's part of it, I would think. It is part of it. That in artificial intelligence, which is replacing a lot of jobs as well. I think it's going to redefine a lot of industries. I mean, this is going to be a major point. But, you know, people in your part of the world realize that, you know, oil is a boom and bust business, right? When prices are high, they have a tendency to hire, they can't have enough people. You know, when prices come back down, you know, they have a, you know, tendency to tighten their belts. And, you know, the loss of jobs that we're seeing right now, though it's distressing, you know, if it's your job. But in the big picture, you know, I don't see it as a big trend, right? I think that if you look at where oil demand is going to be in the next couple years, the underinvestment, you know, this pullback in jobs, I think it's going to be temporary. And I think the growth is going to be incredible. So I think it's a mere bump in the road. But you're right. A lot of these jobs. are going to be jobs that will not be replaced, right, because of artificial intelligence. But the higher paying jobs in the oil and gas industry, I think they're going to come back in a big way. maybe not right away, but over the next five years. Well, for somebody who has a kid going off to college and they're going to go into A&M and they have an interest in this segment of work, where are the jobs going to be in the next 10 years? What does the future say about the best place to find a good paying job in oil and gas? What was the song that they used to sing? Mama, don't let your son to grow up to be a petroleum engineer, right? But actually, I think that's the place to be right now. I think the technology for oil and gas extraction is going to be huge. I think it's going to be a big job. And we don't have enough of them. You know, when oil was out of favor and everybody thought we were going to be moving towards different energy, you know, the people with that kind of knowledge, geologists. petroleum engineers really went to the wayside. And I think there's going to be a big need for that in the future. So if you like playing with rocks and formations, this is going to be the way. And with artificial intelligence, it's going to make it really historic because you're going to be able to use not only your knowledge to do that, but with new tools that really can unlock the oil and gas production that we're going to need in the future. We're going to desperately need it.

We're way underinvested right now. Right now everything seems hunky-dory, the markets and balance. But, you know, we can't be complacent. We want to keep prices stable. If confirmed, the amount stolen would rank among the largest welfare frauds in American history. In Minnesota, a welfare system designed to uplift the most vulnerable children was treated like an open ATM. Texas is Ted Cruz at a Senate hearing yesterday. In Las Vegas, authorities have uncovered an illegal biolab operating inside a residential home.

This was following Saturday's law enforcement raid of a Las Vegas home that uncovered about a thousand biological samples in an illicit bio lab. Renters and employees of the home's property manager complained of getting, quote, deathly sick from what authorities suspect were dangerous pathogens in the garage. And then investigators say the homeowner is a Chinese national, 62-year-old Jabezu, an illegal immigrant from China who was arrested in 2023 while allegedly running a similar. lab in California. And despite what you hear from Democrats in the mainstream media, President Trump's economic wins are real. Now he just needs to convince the country. That's what Fox News columnist Liz Peek says. Trump's got a good story to tell. So much the media is critical, is opposing him, paints everything in a really dark light. And she says it's now time to turn that narrative around. Despite efforts to address budget issues, the Houston City Controller is warning that we are on track to overspend by about $55 million on overtime for police and solid waste. Budget issues have plagued Houston since former Mayor Sylvester Turner's tenure. With the city under budgeting for so long, almost every year for 11 years, you run into an issue where you can't, you almost just can't get out of it. Charles Blaine with urban reform says, unfortunately, there isn't really one quick fix for the overtime issue. It has to really be looked at department to department. Everybody's got their own contracts for one individual. Overtime might be time and a half. For someone else, it might not be. He added that this issue will require city leaders to think long term, not just about their own. terms in office. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. The Greater Houston Partnership warns that there could be layoffs in the oil and gas industry, primarily administrative and support roles. This could be a sign of more streamlining, and it could actually lead to lower costs. This is another example of how artificial intelligence is going to reshape the global economy. I actually think it's going to empower people more than it will be a detriment. Market analyst Phil Flynn says lower energy prices combined with higher demand and greater efficiency is just going to lead to greater growth and more jobs in the long run. Oil futures are down $1.5 this morning to $64.9 a barrel. Annually passed Texas law allowing for civil lawsuits against abortion pill providers is now being tested for the first time in court. A Galveston man is suing the California doctor who sent the medication to his girlfriend ending her pregnancy.

Here is the Congressman explaining his Dignity Act. Look, when you look at the challenge facing the country, Will, we have upwards of 25 million people who are here undocumented. The president won in large measure on two points. Number one, he would secure the border and stop the influx. He has effectively done that. We've had nine straight months. of net zero illegal border crossings coming into the country. And the American people support that. Every Republican supports that. Secondarily, going after criminal aliens and ending sanctuary cities. I just yesterday... led the effort to push back against my own home county in New York, trying to become a sanctuary. One of my Democratic opponents, Beth Davidson, trying to make the county a sanctuary for criminal illegal aliens. We are opposed to that. And I think what is a big part of the bill is that it codifies the border security element here. The second aspect of this is to recognize that you have 25 million... roughly undocumented immigrants in this country. Not everyone has committed a crime while being in the United States. Anyway, anyway, here's basically what Mike Lawler was saying, is that he doesn't seem to recognize the idea that being in the country illegally is a crime. Not that we can necessarily bet that, and that we should put them on a path to citizenship. It would include paying fines and other hoops to jump through, but it would put them on some sort of a path to citizenship. So I guess my question is, is there any path?

Harris County DA's office will decide if the boy will face charges. Elsewhere, two railroad workers are covering. They were injured in a robbery in a shooting in Houston's fifth ward. In Houston yesterday, Governor Greg Abbott Town to pick up the endorsement of some local unions spoke out against the anti-ice school walkouts. Those children are in school getting the education they're supposed to be getting and making sure that parents are reassured. Their children are not wandering around some street somewhere, but instead are where parents think they are, and that's in the classroom getting an education. The state officially appoints Levi Fuller as Inspector General for Educator Misconduct to look into the role teachers may be playing in these protests. Coming up on 704.

You still have to be tough. These are criminals. We're dealing with really hard criminals. President Trump on NBC calling for a, quote, softer touch in Minneapolis. We have the entire interview on our Facebook and X pages. Borders are Tom Homan announced that 700 officers were being pulled out of Minneapolis. That's not enough for Democrats like Mayor Jacob Frey. The continued presence of 2,000 federal agents in a city that only has 600 police officers is still not de-escalation. That was Fry on CNN. In Florida, the man charged with trying to assassinate President Trump two years ago was sentenced to life in prison, but don't think the legal fight is over. I think the judge may have mistakenly applied. the federal crime of terrorism enhancement. And that will be probably the leading issue on appeal. Defense attorney Martin Roth. The midterm campaign is now officially underway with the GOP looking to find ways to win voters over the way that Donald Trump does. So why don't Republicans enjoy the same success? People vote for people. And I think that at the end of the day, voters are skeptical of both parties and rightfully so. That's Aaron Evans, president of winning Republican strategies. The Republican Party certainly has work to do around the country, but ultimately candidates have to on the race, on the moment, and inspire them to go get off the couch and go vote for them, give them something to get excited about. Which he says needs to happen before the midterms. Jeff Figgs News Radio 740. KT.R. On a positive, Trump has about 400 million bucks in his war chest to help the GOP this fall. And former campaign staffer Mike Hahn says the money lets him go to rallies and invest in advertisements in a way no other president ever has. He has a war trust that's much larger than any of the established Democrat committees right now. So the president alone is going to be able to really be a kingmaker, for lack of a better term, and a lot of different elections with the amount of money he has and the amount of resources that he's going to be able to spend it on. And here in Texas, after months of radio silence, Trump may be about to get into the Republican race for Senate between John Cornyn, Ken Paxton, and Wesley Hunt. He may have been shocked into endorsing John Cornyn after a recent special election loss. Did he get spooked by the election results in SD9? That's concerning the Texas Senate race is not SD9. Former Texas GOP chairman Matt Rinaldi says endorsing John Cornyn just to win Texas's Senate seat would be a mistake. Not only do I think it would hurt Trump's standing among Texas Republicans. I think people would be disappointed because Texas Republicans overwhelmingly support Ken Paxton. Rinaldi also says polling doesn't show that John Cornyn would perform. better than Ken Paxton in a general election. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. That said, Texas Dems are trash talking after that state Senate win in North Texas last week. Political analyst Jeff Creweir.

I think in Texas, Republicans should be able to pull it through for the statewide elections, but they can't be complacent. And they need to do a much better job than they did in this special election where it was just a disaster. So hopefully it's the wake-up call they needed. You have to have a voter, you have to have a photo ID to show them that you are who you say you are. It's a measure to try to help prevent cheating and people who are voting illegally. Everybody should be in support of it. Virtually all of America is supportive. In fact, on CNN, they had a pollster who basically showed. Just how widespread the support is. So let's take a listen to that and get some response to Ari Fleischer. What are we talking about here? So take a look here. Favor voter ID to vote? Look, I got all this polling on the screen going back since 2018. You'll notice on all of it, it's all north of 75%, 76%, 76%, 76%, 81%, and then 83% in the last year of Americans agree with Nikki Minaj. They favor...

Photo ID to be able to vote. But even 71% of Democrats favor photo ID to vote. 85% of white people favorite. 82% of Latino. 76% of black Americans favorite. So the bottom line is this. Voter ID is not controversial in this country. A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party and it is not controversial by race. Look, this whole notion of... 2.0, Jim Crow, suppression. Think about how ludicrous that is in our daily lives. You get in your car to drive to an airport, you've got to have an ID, or is that driver suppression. You fly on the airplane, you have to show your ID to get on the plane. Is that Jim Crow 2.0 in the air? Then you land. You go to a hotel. You have to show your ID to check in at the front desk. Is that Jim Crow 2.0? You want to get a beer at the bar. So what's going to happen to the SAVE Act? And is there going to be a vote on the SAVE Act? Well, it's passed the House, past last year, I think. And it'll, it's in our hands as we speak, but somebody will try to get their hands on it and try to manipulate things in it. But at the end of the day, as you just said, you have to be a United States citizen to vote in this country. That is the number one thing. And then, of course, President Trump wants same day voting.

I mean, we are talking to the vast majority of sheriffs who want to help us. so those public safety tests don't get released. We have a great cooperation with the state on them taking our detainers. So this is making this, not only this city safer is making it safer for the officers. And the drawdown, the drawdown was just wasn't just because of the agree, because where we're going with agreements, the drawdown was because. I created a unified chain of command so we stopped the duplicities and we were able to get rid of some support staff that we didn't need because we got one chain of command. We also have depleted the target list. We got over 4,000 rest. We depleted that target list. We're doing the right thing. We're having a great success at it. In other words, they're doing all the things that they were doing before. They're just using fewer people to do it. I think they are telling the ICE agents in Minneapolis. to be less confrontational, although I do not for one minute blame them for how they have behaved, given the behavior done towards them. I don't know how much of being spat upon. and having your vehicle kicked in you have to put up with, but evidently they're backing off just a little bit. And if they're getting enough cooperation now in Minneapolis where they can just go to the jails and pick up these illegal criminals and have other ways to do it that are going to be less in the face of demonstrators or require them to interact with demonstrators, then maybe that's not such a bad thing. They haven't named him as a person of interest. Here's Ashley Bancroft last night, speculating on where we're at with all this. There have been a couple of peculiarities. I give them grace because it's a lot when the national media descends upon your small community that's pretty safe. I think Leland, the last big thing that happened here was Gabby Giffords was shot over a decade and a half ago. And they're tap dancing in real time, trying to answer questions, trying to be maybe as... Transparent as they can, while at the same time trying to forward-think the integrity aspect of what they're going to need in the investigation. So I always give the police grace when it comes to that. Heck, you and I make mistakes live on air. But I do think it's odd that we've had multiple stories, multiple times from the same jurisdiction. We don't know who dropped Nancy Guthrie off at this point. It's either Annie and her husband, Thomas Hall, or... Or it's the husband. And that's all three sort of come from the sheriff. The sheriff had to walk back the fact that she was dragged from her bed. It was something the sheriff said. And the next day he had to put out a statement saying, well, I didn't think you take me literally. So it's a little, some things are a little off. But again, the grace, because it's moving quickly. I agree with you. I don't think this crime scene should have been unsecured after about 30 hours. But there's a lot to see there that is very troubling, clear. Now don't jump to conclusions yet. That is an organization called the International Crimes Against Children Task Force, but they are exquisite in their ability to do cell phone analysis and tech analysis. So the feds, to answer your question, are really, really good at that. They are also incredible with their laboratory.
