I just got a text message from somebody that said I've lived in Cape Coral for 45 years and I've never seen the parkway the way it is right now. And on that note, let's get a traffic update on what's going on in Cape Coral right now, Rob. All right. If you're in Cape Coral this morning and you're trying to get off the peninsula, you are indeed in line for a rough commute. While all the bridges seem to start picking up, that doesn't happen until you actually clear the threshold. Cape Coral Parkway eastbound, backed up all the way to Chiquita Boulevard, El Prado, southbound from Veterans Memorial, also backed up. quite a ways. Midpoint bridge seems to be moving okay, but getting there could be a challenge. And then, of course, that bridge southbound to 41 into Fort Myers, the Colusa Hatchie Bridge. Also showing substantial slowdowns and delays with backup stretching all the way up to Pine Island Road. So if you're in Cape Coral this morning, allow a lot of extra time and patience for your commute. Also, vehicle fire reported on 82 westbound, just south of Lehigh there. So there might be some traffic issues in that area as well. But if you have to cross the bridges, plan your route accordingly and be patient because every way out of Cape Coral is pretty rough right now. Man, all the way back to Chiquita. That is so far. That is so, so far. That's almost the entire length of the parkway. I know it's stressing a lot of you guys out. Just be diligent. It's a, you know what, it's an inside look that you don't get a lot of look at it. I think that's what would make it is going to make it interesting for me to go see. And I look forward to actually seeing it because I think I love inside stuff like that. My wife always says if it's a political movie or a war movie, we're in, right? Yes, so Veterans Memorial heading eastbound is backed up now also to Chiquita Boulevard. So that's moving pretty slowly. Cape Coral Parkway also still backed up to Chiquita. It does look like that's starting to move a little better. But I'm sure if you're sitting in that mess, you're feeling it. Bridges all kind of trying to play catch up here. 41 southbound also still backed up to Pine Island Road for some slowdowns there. One space, if you will. In the entire world. In the entire world. I would say probably some penthouse suite 100 floors up in Dubai, UAE. You want the whole suite. But what if you had to stay in the in the... Master bedroom of said sweet. You couldn't come out. That would be a little bit more challenging. Well, don't worry. There's one guy doing it. If you want to change your life to be a happier and healthier, have you tried locking yourself in solitary confinement for 365 days? Didn't we already learn that this is a bad idea? Didn't we learn that locking people down makes people recluse? It makes them not connect. But this guy's going to do it anyway. He's a 49-year-old man on TikTok named Skip Boyce. He's on TikTok. He launched a project called The Isolation Year, where he's staying inside. his room for a year without leaving for an entire year. He started on January 10th, so it's been about three weeks. He says the rules are simple. I don't leave the room and I live stream, live stream remains active 24-7. I don't bring the outside entertainment or unplanned interaction. I live, sleep, work out, read, write, and spend my time. right here. He adds it's not about shock value. You wanted to create a controlled environment to step away from the constant stimulation and reestablished discipline and rebuild habits around health, focus and accountability.

He lives in Utah. It says his own construction business. He used to own his own construction business. He lives with family, although his kids are adults, his isolation room is partially separated from the rest of the house and is used his skills to better to set it up. It has a bathroom and a shower, a makeshift gym, and an elaborate live streaming setup. He doesn't allow to have any unhealthy foods or drinks, especially soda, no alcohol, no drugs, and he's working with a virtual trainer to get in shape, and he's apparently tasked his wife with providing him food. Oh, my man, look at you. You figured it out. You don't have to deal with life at all for a whole year. You don't have to deal with anybody. Your wife is going to cheat on you. I'm just telling you, your wife is going to cheat on you. If she can't come into the room and spend nights with you, yeah, she's going to find entertainment elsewhere because all you've done is demoted her all the way down to being your chef. I think your idea is dumb. But... If you despise your significant other, it's probably one of the most intelligent things you could do, right? I'm going to do a challenge and lock myself in a room. No one can come in here. Not even you, honey. Slide my food through the door. I put a slot in there, just like a jail. And at that point, like, that's basically what he's doing, right? Locking himself up. I don't know of any place that I would want to actually stay somewhere for a year. I have a hard time staying here for three hours. That's the truth. It truly is. It's one of those things. Like I have to sit here and like keep my butt in the seat. I have no choice but to keep my butt in this seat. But this guy's out there just living it, right? But maybe he needed to. Maybe he was overweight. Maybe his blood levels were wrong and he needed to change his life. So he turned it into a bit where he could make money off streaming and make it a fun little thing. But I, for one, I ain't doing that ever, ever, ever. I couldn't even imagine, by the way. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like to live in that house for an entire year, one room. By the way, don't forget, we are doing it. We're raising the flag here in Cape Coral, and we are doing it. I want to put the biggest flag, the tallest flagpole in all. See, here's my vision, all right? Number four. There is a division in our government between the federal branch and the judicial branch. No judge cannot tell me or the president how to conduct foreign policy. No judge can tell me how I have to outreach to a foreign partner or what I need to say to them. And if I do reach that foreign partner and talk to them, I have under no obligation to share that with the judiciary branch. Just like a judge cannot order me to negotiate with a foreign minister of Russia, they cannot order me to negotiate with a foreign minister or the president of El Salvador. And if I did negotiate with them, which we have responded. to them. And we've told them we've had communications with the president of El Salvador. I am under no obligation under our division of powers in this country to share with the judicial branch how I conducted diplomacy of the United States. Chairman, he can't. Right. No judge is going to say it. No judge is going to tell that man how to do his job. And we already know that judges are. doing anything they can do, like these liberal left judges like the ones out of Orange County that just led two illegals out just because they said that they weren't given their rights and just let him go. being said here is just so you know, I understand Marco Rubio, no judge has a power to tell the executive branch what to do. And he's right. That's the thing. But these judges don't want to think these judges are out there doing crazy things. And there's a growing war between the judicial and executive branches that is continually going on. And it basically undermines the separation of power when they try to overreach like that. That's all I'm saying. Number three. Y'all are playing like Biden didn't exist. Y'all won't tell the American people about Lake and Riley. It's a one-sided debate. For four years, our border was obliterated. They let them come in by the tens of millions, and they want to go back that way. We're not going. We're not going. We're not going at all. We're not going back to that route. Listen, I can't believe it. And we heard Chuck Schumer say it earlier in the show that they want the borders open, right? They want to just open them up. Everybody can come in. Because they didn't want that in 2010. So it's not about what a Democrat believes. It's about what's popular for them now. And those are the exact type of people that you shouldn't elect ever. You should never elect somebody that can't stand the same now that they stood 10 years ago unless their stance has bettered the world in one way or another. And illegals do not better the country or the world. We keep them out of our country for a reason. And let's continue to keep it a tight, tight border. I'm all for it. Number two. Tax filing season began last week, and thanks to House Republicans, it's going to be easier than ever for working families to file their taxes. And why you ask? Because Republicans expanded the standard deduction. To put it in plain English, the first $31,500 of family earns. is tax-free. So the first $31,500 of every family, tax-free. There you go. Wow. That is, that's a great thing. By the way, that was Representative Lisa McLean out of Michigan, a Republican admission, highlighting tax season, talking about the fact that it's tax time. The 5 at 835. You heard about the story I'm about to tell you back in July. And I'm going to tell you, do you remember the name Anthony Zekka? He is the stepson to dog the bounty hunter. I don't know if you remember back in July, he fatally shot his 13-year-old son at the house in Naples. His blood alcohol content was 0.1-1. Almost, what, one and a half times the legal limit? And... He was playing with a gun, quick drawing it out of his waistband with the clip removed and the chamber cleared, right? Quick drawing it, playing with it, being unsafe, practicing unsafe firearms handling. And then he puts the clip back in, loads the chamber, does it one more time, and kills his 13-year-old son. Fatally shoots him because of...

Poor fire harm handling under the influence of alcohol. Under the influence of alcohol. He's been charged with aggravated manslaughter. I cannot believe what it would be like being responsible for the death of your own child. It would be something I could never live with for the rest of my life, but he is going to face it and possibly a life sentence of facing with it. He's been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child with a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence. Now, when you hear this story, you know there's a couple of things that are involved in this. Poor handling of firearms and alcohol. Alcohol impairs your motor skills, your judgment, and so many other things. So by... This man, Zekka, pulling this gun under the influence of alcohol, was irresponsible and destructive and ruined a life and killed someone and ruined many lives around, all because he wanted to play with his gun out in Naples Manor. This was July 19th, by the way, 2005. He's now been charged. Meanwhile, in Florida, the safe and smart initiative for the recreational marijuana has asked the Supreme Court to continue their judgment and their scheduled hearing on the petitions. Whether or not they do or whether or not the Attorney James Uthmeier recommends to block the initiative and not to do it, we'll find out. But the bigger issue is the fact that you can go buy three-fifths of rum right now, drink them all to the head, commit a crime, all because you legally bought too much alcohol. There's never been a story on the record of someone under the influence of marijuana. committing a violent crime. But tragic gun plus alcohol incidences, alcohol linked to vast majority of violent crimes, domestic incidences, fatal accidents, marijuana rarely causes aggressive behavior. A lot of people, we always talk about the differences between marijuana and alcohol. I want you to understand that there are many differences, but I always say this. when you think about the worst decision you've ever made in your life. I want you to go back and think about the worst decision you've ever made in your life right now. Have you thought about it? You know what it is? You got it in your mind? Let me ask you a question about that particular incident. Were you under the influence of alcohol? Were you under the influence of some drug other than marijuana? Or did you make a bad decision under the influence of marijuana? I bet you it's the prior one. Alcohol involved. I can sit here right now and think of every bad decision I've ever made and I would say 95% of them was when I was a heavy drinker.

Just some food thought. I know I'm a little early on my food for thought, but when I saw this story, I immediately thought, let's get it out there. Let's discuss this and let's pray for the loved ones of this child. We should probably pray for this man. The fact that he had to be responsible for the death of his own child. It's going to be something that I know I couldn't live with it at all. It would be the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. So we're going to take a quick break. I'll come back. I want to cover the one last time, one story that we talked about earlier in the show and give you some food for thought before we roll. We have a great show. Just hold on. Welcome back to 92-5 Fox News and daybreak. Let's go ahead right now and give you one more traffic update before we wrap up the show. Go ahead. All right. Wink News traffic reports that the bridges are still a little sticky right now. Midpoint Bridge has become a bit more congested. The backups for Veterans Memorial now stretch all the way to Surfside Boulevard. So just be aware of that. Del Prado Boulevard, north and southbound between Cape Coral Parkway and Veterans Memorial, slowdowns on both sides, north and south. And then, of course, Del Prado, southbound. from State Route 78, also seeing slowdowns as people try to get through to the bridges. Cape Coral Parkway still backed up to Chiquita. Once you cross the threshold of the bridges other than the midpoint, you're going to do just fine. But all of the pipes leading up to the major bridges are pretty congested right now. I'm also seeing the Edison Bridge south, which is just slightly north of the main Calusahatchie Bridge, does seem to be moving along pretty good right now. So if you have an opportunity to zip north to that, that might be a better way around. Just be patient out there. And good luck in that rough commute. We want to wrap the show up with a quick story that I think you need to hear. I don't know if you remember. Teddy Bridgewater was a former NFL coach and he was the high school coach from Miami High School and was suspended and I think eventually fired for helping kids. There was a kid who needed some food and some ride to practice and he would cover like Uber rides and meals out out of his own pocket. Someone found out and they suspended him. So Florida, doing what Florida does, they announce House Bill 305. And this allows coaches to personally pay for food, clothing, transportation, housing when a player is in real need. No cash, no recruiting involved, no recruiting inducements, and no school or boost or money involved. But if a kid needs a ride to practice, great. If a kid is hungry, hasn't eaten, provide food for them. Now, NCAA rules could cost the player eligibility.

or the coach their job, so players missing practice because no food at home, no gas money, unstable housing. Coaches want to remove that fear, and they've done so for many years. So many coaches I know will always go above and beyond. I got a friend named Coach Bob. Coach Bob used to drive around the city to pick up his kids for Pop Warner football because they didn't have a dad. Some of these kids don't have fathers at all. They grow up without fathers in the house. Coach becomes that steady male voice saying, show up, work hard, be accountable. Life lessons, discipline. Sometimes, the only consistent adult male figure they have. If he wants to step in and help out like a good father, I say yes, let's make it happen. It removes any NCAA handcuffs for the coach, and let's make this bill work. I think a lot of people miss out the fact that the mentorship that you get from a coach is something that you can't replace. The mentorship that you get from a man who steps in to a fatherless family, or even to any young man's life could change him forever. There's many people that will tell you a story of many stories you can read across the world about people that found a coach, and that coach took them out of a bad lifestyle, and now they're a great player for what they do. What this bill does is show compassion. It trusts good men, coaches, to do the right by the kids and their care. Now, I would side note and say background checks all day long just based on what we've already told on this show. But I do believe in a strong family unit, and sometimes it has to be a coach. Just so you know.
