Good morning. This is the answer today. I am Chris Ryan. I appreciate you joining us for the show. New Fox polls out, taking a look at how the American people feel about the war in Iran, also the economy, and President Trump as a whole. Yesterday, we noted that President Trump's approval, according to that poll at 42%. And it seems to be anywhere between 32 and 44% given... which poll you may be looking at. The nuclear politics average has him at 41% when you put all the polls together. Here's Gernal Scott. Support has increased for the U.S. action in Iran to 45% up from 42% a month ago. Still more than half who responded opposed the war. Even with that, almost 60% of respondents rated the military's performance from good to excellent. 40% of voters say President Trump has been too tough on Iran, while 28% say he hasn't been tough enough. 30% say the fight that's ongoing is about right. Contrast that to China, where 40% of voters say the U.S. hasn't been tough enough, and only 21% say America's been too tough. Gernal Scott. Fox News. We're about six and a half months away from the midterm election and UNH putting a poll out as well, which indicated an 8% lead for Kelly Ayat, obviously the incumbent governor against Democratic challenger, Cindy Warmington. Joining us right now on the HRC, your neighbor credit union guest line. State Senate Majority Leader Gina Birdsell. Good morning, Senator Birdsell. Hey, Chris, how are you? I am well. Happy Friday. Happy Friday. I appreciate joining us for the show. Let's start off with this UNH poll, which shows a sizable lead for Governor Ayat and seems to go against the tide of what we're seeing and predicting nationally in regard to democratic success in federal races. And also is the opposite of what we are seeing in this poll when it comes to Chris Pappas versus John E. Sununu, where there's a 7% lead for Pappas over Sununu. Why do you think AOT has been able to flip the script? Well, remember, Chris, it seems like every election, New Hampshire always always goes against the tide, basically. And I think the governor has done a really great job with crime, because that's basically what she ran on. And she's been amazing on taxes, not making sure that we're reducing the fees or getting rid of the fees and just, you know, making things. easier and affordable for granted staters as well as making sure that we continue the new hampshire advantage um coming out against an income tax and i think that was a big issue because i think she's she's going against the the democratic tide on that one and i think that um there's a lot of support

uh against um an income tax so i think that's really helped her a lot so i'm very happy that she's um she's moving ahead and i do i did look quickly at the at the um polls, and it does look like John Sununu has, I think, come up a little bit. So I'm actually a little bullish on the elections in November. But again, I think the income tax and the fact that the Democrats have testified in favor of the... against, I'm sorry, the CACR, and they're actively recruiting people to candidates who are in favor in an income tax. And I think that's a question the Democrats have to actually look at. So I think the income tax that's going to hurt the grandestators, I think, is a major issue. Yeah, that was smart politics to get Democrats on the record in that regard. And it seems like you kind of referenced how this campaign is going to be run. It's going to be Republicans, you know, fight to keep taxes low and fight against an income tax, strong on crime and perhaps flipping the script and saying that the Democrats would be the opposite. As I referenced earlier, the reason in my view that things may be different. regard to statehouse races and the governor's race than what is expected in federal races is that if you're upset with president trump um you send democrats uh to dc as you know basically a protest vote, there's not any significant ramifications as a result of that because President Trump is still in control. However, Democrats taking over control of the statehouse has ramifications to it. And if you don't view Democrats, or view Democrats less favorably than Republicans, then you're going to perhaps get policies that, that you don't like. Where in D.C. nothing is likely to change as a result of sending Democrats down there. I think that's the conventional wisdom of a lot of independence. Your thoughts? Well, and I, when I look at it, Chris, I see that there's, the Democrats are trying to push forward a non-germane amendment that would require additional taxes on second homes. So whatever they're doing, the, They're looking at taxing granite staters, whether you're out, you know, whether you're a granite stator or whether you have a second home. And I think this is a major issue that they're going to have to run against because, you know, we've always been third best in the country for the tax burden. And the problem with the rankings are, we're running out of things to be first in, you know, raising children.

healthy environment here. So, and when you look at the fact that they wanted additional, you know, $1 billion of additional spending and we, the question was, where are we going to get it? And their savior, Andrew Valinsky, gets on the state house steps, and I keep saying it, the 33 plan. When I was talking to Chris Christie back in 2016, he said, be very careful. They promised New Jersey residents that if they implemented it income tax, their property taxes will go down. And at the time, New Jersey was the highest in income and property taxes and sales tax. So the Republicans are going to continue fighting this fight. And I think it's going to... reward us in November. Yeah, there have been other examples of that, including Connecticut, where even if there's good intentions in regard to creating a more equitable tax, and I think an income tax is more equitable and fair than a property tax, if you provide another bucket and even you put a constitutional amendment in, that will be abused at some point in time, and you'll end up in a situation like New Jersey. and Connecticut, which is why folks for years here have pushed for, and I think rightfully so, against. any broad-based income or sales tax. The final thing I want to ask you about is also you mentioned, you know, the poll and one of the main areas, main issues for folks was taxes, but also housing affordability and affordability as a whole. When you look at that issue and folks are also looking in previous polls have indicated they think New Hampshire's headed in the wrong direction. The St. A's poll indicated that folks feel like New Hampshire is heading the wrong way, despite the rankings that you. mentioned earlier. What arguments are Republicans going to make to voters who feel like New Hampshire is headed in the wrong direction or that not enough has been done on housing affordability? Well, I think you have the push-pull problem where you have... There's municipalities that want to continue local control, and you have the state house, which wants to try and expand the housing. And I think, for instance, in Hampstead, we had a project that would have brought down the property taxes by $350 to $650 per household. And they turned down, and the project, the developer, complied with everything that they had asked and they still voted against it, which is going to go to court. But this is where you have local control, to me, abusing the system because if a developer complies with and to bring in additional housing, then why aren't you allowing it to be built? And I think that this is where we have to draw or walk a very fine line between local control.

and the state kind of trying to implement additional housing. I think that's where the fine line has to be drawn. Senator Burtzl has always appreciate your time. At the White House, Jared Halpern, Fox News. Meanwhile, Sencom says the U.S. Navy now has three air caps. Carriers in the Middle East, the USS George H.W. Bush carrier arrived in the Indian Ocean. This is the first time three aircraft carriers have been in the region since 2003 leading up to the Iraq invasion. In the meantime, a new Fox News poll asked voters how they feel about the ongoing conflict in Iran. Support for the war in Iran has grown to 45% now from 42% in March. Has the action made America safer? 36% say yes, while 39% say it has made America. less safe. A majority of voters, 57% say they don't believe the effort to keep America safe justifies the pain of higher prices here at home, while 43% say the rising costs will be worth it in the long run. When it comes to Israel, 40% say the U.S. is too supportive. Another 40% think the support is just about right. 19% think the U.S. could do more for Israel. Gerdahl Scott. Fox News.
