I want to start with some updates on the Trooper Quigley case. The Middlesex District Attorney's Office was ordered to turn over all emails and communications concerning that cruiser crash in 2023 from the date of the crash to the present. They are seeking a protective order to keep these materials private. Why are they seeking that, Mike? And do you think the judge is going to grant them it? I don't know if the judge will grant it. It's interesting. I think there's a conflict of interest here. He used to work for the district attorney's office that is now requesting. A protective order. And basically the files apparently include private messages from personal phones and attorney work product is what they're saying. That reporting comes from Ted Daniel, Boston 25. He said that, you know, basically the judge is going to ultimately decide whether they grant the order. But the Commonwealth is pushing back. They're, you know, Middlesex County District Attorney's Office is pushing back on this. And I think they have a conflict because they used to employ this guy. So this is... It's an interesting. Interesting case, because this is a murder trial, you know, and it reminds me, again, a Proctor, Michael Proctor, a man of the Mass State Police officer covering up stuff, and now it's become a big issue in a murder trial. So we'll see how that works out for the defense or the middle of sex county DA's office, but it doesn't look good for them. It doesn't look good for the mass state police, and it's just another ridiculous black eye for them. It's really bad PR for the state police to have another scandal.

with somebody that they covered up. They covered up his accidents, and he's got quite a driving record, apparently, as well. Yeah, and whenever you're dealing with these requests, whether it be, hey, can we move this trial to another place because we think that the jury would be tainted in the area where it's happening or we think that these materials, if they're made public, could damage the integrity of the trial. I have to imagine in a lot of these cases, Mike, there's a really high bar for that because, yeah, are we following this quickly case? Sure. But I mean, in comparison to, let's say, Karen Reed, it's not that kind of a... case where all eyes are glued to it and you're worried that you're never going to find a jury that hasn't seen this before. So I would have to think that to make that case and to get a judge to agree to that, it would have to be really kind of crazy circumstances. Absolutely. You know, unless it's, you know, information about a child or something like that, medical information, I think anything else should be allowed in on this. So I don't see how. They're going to win this unless there's something I'm missing, but it seems like, again, cover up. It's cover up with the DA's office, cover up with Mass State Police. They covered up everything that this guy did. And then they had him investigate the murder case, which is not good for them. Yeah, it's like how Massachusetts is this just when you think that we've hit the... hit the bottom of the barrel to new low. I want to talk about Kelsey Fitzsimmons. We have been covering this almost every time we have you on. And over the past few weeks, there have been a few big stories that seem, at least from the way I interpret it, Mike, to be going in Kelsey Fitzsimmons's favor. One of them happened yesterday when she was in court to settle some pretrial issues. Before you get into the two updates, give people a really quick summary in case they're just starting to hear about this. What happened with the... the North Andover police officer. Kelsey Fitzman is a North Andover police officer who was being served with a protection order from her boyfriend. She had her newborn baby in her hands. Four of her colleagues came into the house. She let him right in. She was in stocking feet. And apparently she reached for her revolver. They didn't secure the house. And it's a he said, she said, between this police officer, who was her partner, he shot her right in the chest. And she claims that she was trying to self-harm. And he claims that she had pointed and shut the gun at him. So she got shot, you know, right in the chest, almost died. So it's, you know, in. The indictment was attempted murder, and they didn't get that. So it's a lower, much lesser charges. One charge against her for assault.

I don't think this is going to go well for Essex County DA's office, just knowing all the info that's come out, as well as some of the things I'm hearing behind the scenes from sources. And I think what you're seeing is they're going to put this police officer his reputation on the stand, the defense, as well as the... babies, you know, the baby daddy who's a firefighter in North Andover. And I think it's going to be a similar situation with Karen Reed where it's the system against this one woman and they really worked against her. And I think a lot of dirt's going to come out. And you're starting to see that. You're starting to already see a lot of things come out against this boyfriend, fiance, baby daddy, as well as this police officer that shot her. So it's going to be... putting them on trial just as much as Kelsey Fitzsimmons is on trial. Talk to me, Mike, about this former fiancé, what we know so far and some updates on him as well. Because as you said, like more is coming out every single day. And I think that for a long time, the focus was on Kelsey Fitzsimmons. It's going to remain that way. But now we're starting to find out more about the people in her orbit. Yeah, the video surveillance system that Kelsey had at her house is coming in big into play. Her father is a video security expert, so he had cameras everywhere. And one of the first videos that the fence showed was the fiancé busting through the door of her house after she was shot. And then apparently he stole some money. He broke equipment. He broke the security equipment. He disconnected her internet. And you have video of that. It doesn't look good at him busting through the door with three of his friends. Two of them, a firefighter, one being his brother, who's not a firefighter. So there was two friends, firefighters, one brother and him entering her home. What I would say, it looks like an illegal entry because he had said he had moved. He had claimed he had moved on paperwork just a few days before the shooting. And here he is, busting into her house. to retrieve items apparently. She claimed he stole money, so that came up. The defense has also recently released some videos of him. What apparently is smoking a bong outside of her house. repeatedly over and over and over again, recorded on video, which is legal in Massachusetts, but part of the collective bargaining agreement being a North End of a firefighter, you're not supposed to be using cannabis like that. So that came into play yesterday in court. They asked the judge to give him, you know, to give the defense. his disciplinary records, all of his, you know, employment records with North Carolina Firefire. The judge said no, but I haven't feeling that could change today because just in the last half hour, Eagle Lawrence Tribune is reporting that he's now been suspended or placed, you know, on, you know, he's basically been, you know, put on the sidelines here. They're reviewing things on him. So.

New breaking news on him. I think the defense is going to go back and use that as a reason to get his records with North Endo Fire Department. But they haven't, but Mike, I just want to chime in here because I'm sure a lot of people are thinking this. He was placed on administrative leave Friday by the North Andover Fire Department, as you just said, within the last half hour. But have they revealed any reasons as to why, or is that just the most we know right now as he was placed on leave? No, that's all we know right now. I'm glad you said it right because I didn't have it in front of me. Administrative leave is the correct term. And that's exactly what they placed them on. We don't have any information. I have a feeling they're not going to share anything because of employment issues. They usually are not legally allowed unless there's some kind of findings that this guy did fault. So I have a feeling we're not going to find out why. But that's a big move that they put him on administrative leave. That means they're looking into it. And I think that video of him smoking the pot and some of the other allegations in the filings, the court filings, about illegal use of other drugs. I think it's going to come into play now into court, and especially because of this administrative leave. But we'll see the judge seemed like he was protecting the witness. The defense really raised, like, are you actually going to call this guy? Is he going to be a prosecution witness? Because we're going to destroy him. It's basically what attorney Tim Brato was saying to the judge and the prosecution saying, you know, this is going to ruin your case if you bring this guy up because he's got a lot of issues. And I think the defense is really just letting the judge. and the DA's office know that they're going to go after this guy, and his reputation is going to be attacked. And so it'll be interesting to see what happens. They also have some issues with the police officer who shot Kelsey Fitzsimmons. He's been on leave ever since. There were some issues on, you know, him being AWOL since that happened and nothing happened in his disciplinary record. So they're looking for more information on him as well from the police department, and the judge did approve that. Both of these guys, I think, are going to be made a focus. They're going to be on trial just as much as Kelsey Fitzsimmons in this. And it was interesting to see the judge yesterday. Like you said, there was some great developments for her. For the first time ever in court, I've been watching these. I've been going to most of the hearings. First time I've ever seen her smile in court. She was trying not to smile, but the smile was really about this residence that they're going to allow her to move out of her mom's home. I think they're going to allow her to establish residence. It looks like a Newberry Port, which is really the first step for her trying to get custody or some visitations back with her son, her baby son. So you saw her smile about that yesterday, which was, it felt good for everybody because I feel like one of the biggest things on this is not letting. this mom see the baby even you know with supervised visits they have not had any contact with that baby so it's uh the baby's i think about one years old now and the mom just hasn't been able to see the baby so i think this was a good development i'm glad the judge did that i felt like it was a humane thing to do for her and it was great to see her smile uh for the first time really in court yesterday

Now, the terrorists who rammed his car into the Jewish preschool at the synagogue in Michigan, he lived in Dearborn Heights. So there's a reason why we should be focusing on what do the mayor have to say from this area? And part of his statement, his unhinged statement, was this. Earlier this month, he lost several members of his own family, including his niece and nephew and an Israeli attack on their home in Lebanon. It's kind of starting to sound like you guys are excusing a psychopath terrorist trying to kill Jewish preschoolers.

You're excusing it by saying Israel is bad. That is anti-Semitism. And actually on CNN, Taylor, can we play this clip? There was a great clip of this rabbi who's explaining it and why you shouldn't be trying to justify the attack as if this is what we need to do now. We need to explain this to people. This is cut 12. I can't say that this situation, this was an Israeli temple. It was aligned with Israel. I will say that. A Jewish temple. A Jewish synagogue is not an Israeli temple. It's called the real Israel temple. They're Jewish. Okay. They're the people of Israel. How do you just finish my point? So it was wrong from the premise. They're not Israeli. They're Jewish. So they're called the real Israeli temple, yes? And they do align with Israel and their beliefs. That wasn't the one I was thinking of. I had it wrong, Taylor, but that is a great clip as well, because this is what's happening all over. And it's absolutely despicable. And the fact that this is the mayor of Dearborn Heights, I would love to pretend to be surprised by this. I would love to pull Zohran Mamdani and say, wow, this is shocking news. This is the first I'm hearing of this. Like Trump, when he found out about Ruth Bader, this is the first I'm hearing about this as a tiny dancer plays in the background. But none of this surprises me at all. I wanted to also give you a heads up here that Representative Eric Swalwell, who's running for governor, he's running to replace governor hair gel, who gets accused of being too damn good looking, too damn slick. Well, if there's one thing Eric Swalwell is not, he's not slick, okay? He was tricked by a Chinese spy named Fang Fang. He wears a lot of quarter zips. He's not the slickest dude you've ever seen. And now he's in trouble because his residency is put into doubt. It says Representative Eric Swalbos claims about living in a rented California home have raised red flags among members of the state Democratic Party after multiple neighbors at his supposed home of nine years have never seen or met him. What an elusive neighbor he is. The Democrat frontrunner for governor claims he's lived since 2017 with another family in a Livermore home owned by the sister-in-law of his political mentor, Tim Sabrante. He's just been like, I've been working out so much. People don't recognize me. I can't blame him for not wanting to live in California. Then why do you want to be the governor of it? is on the air. This is from NBC News. I think this actually ties in nice with another story I was going to read about Massachusetts. Massachusetts leaders launch state portal to report ICE misconduct. Governor Morahili is taking a break from defending dunks. Like we all like, like, love our dunks. It's like part of our DNA. Like it's, um, dunks is my person, you know, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, she's taking a break from that. to take on ice. There's a new online portal that allows Massachusetts residents to report alleged misconduct by U.S. immigration and customs enforcement or other federal agents operating within the state. Morahili and A.G. Campbell announced the launch of the portal today, saying it provides a centralized place for individuals, families, attorneys, and community members to document incidents involving ICE and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Now, on that note, there was an incident recently that sparked a lot of outrage because there was a 14-year-old girl who was allegedly detained by ICE in a Marlborough parking lot. And then she was sent to a facility in New Jersey. And there was a lot of uproar about this. It was similar to the five-year-old boy. who was kidnapped by ICE? Is that how they put it? Oh, no, arrested by ICE. And it turns out no, ICE was there to arrest his father, who was an illegal alien, who fled the scene and abandoned his son. And the ICE officers, because they're not monsters, despite what you hear in the media that paints them with like a 93% negative coverage, they stood by the child. made sure the child was safe, took him to McDonald's, and tried to reunite him with his mother, but according to reports, she didn't at the time want to take him in. And so ICE was actually the more responsible party in that whole mess. That's not how it was construed, though, in the media or on the infographics on Instagram. because it was a lot better for the Democrats to say, look at this little boy with the blue hat, he was kidnapped by ICE. Well, this was a similar situation. There was a 14-year-old girl detained by ICE. How evil are they? How evil are they? Just disgusting. Someone report this to Maura Healey's hotline. Except there's been an update. The 14-year-old girl who was detained. by ice in that parking lot and then sent to New York, was reunited with her aunt Thursday afternoon. After waiting for about an hour, this is from the Boston Globe, at the JFK Federal Building in Boston, the girl's aunt was relieved to see her niece safe and healthy. The teen was driven back to the state from New York by two female federal officials who told the aunt they were trying to protect the team from alleged gang members. And this situation was a misunderstanding.

Both the girl and her aunt felt relieved and happy to be back together. But while the reunification was successful, the teen was given an immigration notice to appear, a document that indicates the government will attempt to deport her to her native Brazil. But yeah, this was a case of, I believe, human trafficking. And the ICE agents were trying to stop it. And because of that, they were painted as evil and malicious. The teen had entered the United States on a visa in 2019. Her mother is deceased and her father is not involved in her life. According to her, I believe, Laturolo is her aunt, who said she was living with her older brothers who were U.S. citizens. The girl was detained by federal agents Tuesday afternoon. Under questionable circumstances, she told her lawyer she was going to a Brazilian bakery with two friends when federal agents stopped their car and detained her. The Department of Homeland Security. Assistant Secretary said ICE had not arrested the girl, but rather rescued her from suspected gang members. ICE was conducting a targeted operation to arrest two suspected gang members from Brazil who were in the country illegally. Ior Jose Cordero Ferreira and Lucas de Silva Sain de Amida and said the vehicle used by the two men was connected to an alleged home invasion in Walpole. After the girl was detained, her on petition, the federal court in Boston for her release. So that's just an update for you. But that's the kind of stuff that you're only going to get days after the initial outrage. This girl is with these two gang members who she's not related to and the ICE agents did their best to keep her safe from what could have been human trafficking and they're made out to be the villains in this story. How predictable is it? I also wanted to throw this out there, Taylor, just because it's Friday. And we've been hitting a lot of very serious topics today. I wanted to ask you what you make of this. It says Ruth's Chris Steakhouse owners crack down on diners dress code. I've been seeing this lately with Steakhouse. Like a lot of people wear hats and sneakers and some steakhouses are okay with it. But some of them are trying to bring back the class and bring back the style and the, you know, the upscale nature of the restaurant. Good. You like it? Yes. First of all, the hat wearing thing. All right, you're wearing a hat indoors. We know you're balding. Take it off. Nobody cares. All right? I see this restaurants. Your pretty privilege is showing you again. I see this. Your hair privilege is showing again. You're always, always. You have no sympathy for people who do not have the same full, thick head of hairs you. Why should I? I don't know. We see it at church. We see it all over the place. Or church is bad. It is bad. And nobody calls it out. Nobody calls it out. One of my favorite episodes, the scenes in the Sopranos, is when Tony Soprano goes up to the guy and says, you know, they took the bleachers out of here three years ago. Maybe they didn't tell you about it because he was wearing a hat inside the restaurant inferring that this is not a baseball game, okay? Take your hat off. You're in a nice establishment.

Yeah, there should be some class. When I go out to eat and I'm paying for not only the food, I'm paying for the good service. I'm also paying for the ambiance. I don't want somebody coming in with jeans down to their knees and a sports jersey and some backwards-ass hat. I don't want to see that. That's not what I'm there for. I paid to get away from that. So, yeah, there should be much more strict enforcement. of dress codes. What do you think happens though when you're the person who has to enforce it when you're like, hey, you can't wear that in here? A rush of power? I think you'd love to be that guy. Yes. Taylor would love to go like this. That would be his only job. He'd sit there, look you up and down. And then he'd say, no. Can you give me a specific reason why? No. Give you 18, but no. No, I just don't like it. Try again. Come back next time. Well, you've worked in some classy places. I have. As a classy woman myself. Have you ever had to enforce? Do hostesses do that? No. If they ever tried to get me to do something that I thought I wasn't getting paid enough to do, which was a lot of things, I would always say like someone else has to do this. If I ever felt like I was going to get into a tussle, like you've got to tell a guy to do that. I'm not going up to a man and telling him, you really aren't supposed to be wearing that in here. No, thank you. And you know me, Taylor. I hate confrontation. I hate it. So I would never tell anyone, oh, you can't wear that. But I don't have an issue with this either. Things have gotten very lax. You know, we talk about the airport all the time. People having to dress up nice for the airport. That was something that Sean Duffy had thrown out, the Secretary of Transportation. Bring back not wearing your pajamas to the airport. I don't see that changing anytime soon, especially with the very long lines. But I do have an update speaking of DHS and the TSA and something we've been talking about for a long time. Elissa Slotkin. You remember her? She's the senator from Michigan. And she was at one point she gave a response, I think, to Trump's. joint address to Congress last year. She was, there was a, there was a brief moment. What did they say? There was a brief moment of Camelot. There was a brief moment of Elissa Slotkin where she was, she was going to be the face of the Democrat Party. She's one of these Abigail Spanberger. She positions herself as more of a moderate, and that's why she has appealed to some Democrats who want to bring back that side of their party that has kind of vanished. She was asked about funding or reopening DHS while terrorists are attacking the country, and she said, certainly we need to fund the Department of Homeland Security. This could be Taylor. This could be the first crack. Elissa Slotkin, you can like her and not like her. I don't really like her. But she's a pretty well-known member of the Democrat Party. I know her name. I'm a little inside baseball, yes. But she's...

semi well known. So for her to be saying that after this terrorist attack in Michigan, after what happened at this temple with this Jewish preschool, I do think that that says something's happening here. Well, they're putting, the Democrats at large are putting party over people. And that's not the way you're supposed to govern. John Fetterman was talking about this yesterday. It's all a ruse, first of all, because ICE is fully funded thanks to the big beautiful bill. So they're not... Living up to the reasons that they're saying they want to defund the Department of Homeland Security and keep it underfunded. It just doesn't make sense. It's another needless, pointless shutdown because they have nothing else. Yeah, they don't have anything to sell the American people, so they just have to inconvenience us. They just have to, they're really like, they just have to annoy you. And I want to play Wes Moore here, Governor Wes Moore from Virginia, because he was asked about this as well, Taylor, with Kaitlan Collins. Can I get cut 13, please? Democrats are saying Republicans aren't willing to move. Republicans say Democrats are the reason people are waiting in long lines at the airport and now concerns about who's getting paid and what that looks like inside DHS. Do you think Democrats seem to find a way to come to an agreement with the Republicans on that so it can be fully funded? I think we've been spending around a billion dollars a day on a war of choice. While we don't have DHS, the primary agency that's focused on Homeland Security funded. This is not how government is supposed to work. How government is supposed to work is that people's taxpayer dollars should be going towards making sure that they are safe, that their prices are coming down, that opportunities for them in this country are being protected and supported, and that's not what is happening. Yeah, but you didn't answer. I know this is what they always do. They don't answer the question, but it's almost becoming comical. It's like, okay, do you want to just answer the question? You just repeated everything. But actually answer, like, should we come to the table here? And even the framing from Kaitlan Collins that, you know, Republicans are saying one thing, Democrats are saying the other. No, Republicans want to keep the government open. Democrats don't. Republicans have moved on this. In a way, I think a lot of Republicans actually probably aren't that happy about. There are some Republicans out there who don't think Trump should have given in or, you know, sent Tom Homan to Minnesota. I didn't have an issue with it because I love Tom Homan and I understood why the optics sometimes matter. The court of public opinion matters just as much as anything else. But there has been movement on the Republican side. There have been concessions made on the Republican side. The Democrats don't know what they're asking for. They want to keep criticizing the administration for this war that's two weeks in. They want to say, they don't have a clear mission. I've heard Pete Hegseth. I've heard Karoline Leavitt. I've heard Donald Trump. I've heard Scott Bessent. I've heard so many members of this administration lay out clear goals in what the mission is.

unconditional surrender, make sure they don't have nuclear capabilities. There's been several bullet points as to what they're trying to accomplish. When it comes to this shutdown that's putting us in a grave amount of danger because of the fact that we have all these agencies and we have TSA agents who are just not coming to work and I don't blame them. They're not getting paid. When you look at the Democrats, you go, can you state a clear mission here? What's the goal that we're trying to accomplish? Six hour lines, seven hour lines. And the way this was framed from Red State, which I think is really accurate, Rusty Bari Weiss wrote, we know how many terrorist attacks it takes to get Democrats to blink on DHS funding. And that's three. And yes, I'm saying there were three terror attacks that happened this week since Saturday, since those two teenagers, those toussel-haired teenagers who were going to play Frisbee and then they picked up some bombs instead. But think about how many attacks were probably foiled. Think about how many potential plots the FBI is, you know, trying to get ahead of right now. Those are just the three we know about. Well, and beyond last week was the Austin bar shooting. Yes. It was a terrorist attack. Yes. And also ISIS inspired and also, you know, people. And I know, like I heard Jake Tapper today. We didn't play the cup. But I did hear Jake Tapper saying, we don't know the motive. We don't know the motive. This Lebanese national drove into a Jewish preschool. And we don't know the motive. No, the weird part about that, Jake, is if I'm reading the statement from the mayor of Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, it seems like he knows the motive. If he's citing, well, his family was just killed in an Israeli strike. As part of his, oh, violence is never okay, and we feel bad for these Jewish preschoolers that were almost slaughtered by this maniac. If he's stating that, that's kind of giving the game away, isn't it? Now you're saying we don't know the motive. We're not clear on the motive. Then you should probably tell that to the mayor of Dearborn Heights because he's trying to use the motive. This is how Democrats are now. It's like motive slash excuse. His motive, and it was the same thing. I'm going to bring you back here. This is a little bit of a weave, so stay with me. It was the same thing with that Nashville shooter. Her motive was also the excuse they used to cover it. So it's like she killed all these young kids at this school, at this Christian school. And she's this transgender shooter. And she killed them all because. She was angry about transgender rights and gender affirming care, and she was mad at Republicans. So her motive for this shooting was also used in the framing of it by the media who would say, in Tennessee, there's been a lot of Republican politicians who have not been supportive of gender affirming care. And so what you're doing there... is you're not only revealing her motive, but you're revealing that you think that's justified. You're revealing that the reason she went in and shot these little kids and ruined their parents' lives forever is because mean members of the GOP don't support young people cutting off their privates.

And so it's not only her motive, but it's also what you think is a justification for this nonsense. It's the same thing here. It's like his motive was that his family in Lebanon was killed by an Israeli strike. That's what they're reporting at least. And a lot of members of the media, whether they say it or not, what they're trying to do is they're trying to convince you that that's a justification. Like, yeah, we can condemn it, but let's also keep in mind, this has been building up now. This didn't come out of nowhere. Gross, just gross all around. We'll be right back. Stay with us. Because Rosanna Arquette, who is in Pulp Fiction. made a bunch of statements about how she didn't like all the racial slurs it used and she had problems with the movie. This is something actors do now. They're in a movie and then like 20 years. We just talked about it with a, what's it called, Taylor, Silence of the Lambs. I didn't mean to portray someone from a minority community that has been affected by. Well, she did the same thing. And Quentin Tarantino. wrote back and said, Dear Rosanna, I hope the publicity you're getting from 132 different media outlets writing your name and printing your picture was worth disrespecting me in a film I remember quite clearly you were thrilled to be a part of. Do you feel this way now? Very possibly. But after I gave you a job and you took the money to trash it for what I suspect as very cynical reasons shows a decided lack of class, no less honor. There is supposed to be an esprit de corps between artistic colleagues, but it would appear the objective was accomplished. Congratulations, Q. I love that.
