I'll just, I think he's going to say no, but I've never had a car that required premium gasoline, including my big ass caddy, as one of the texters always says. But, you know, I would be inclined. I don't know what I would do. 844-500, 4242.42. my favorite term for a past due notice says five o eight is a dunning letter i was thinking about using it i know the phrase dunning letter but i didn't know if it was dunning or dunning and i didn't want to embarrass myself so i looked it up during the break it's a dunning letter that means that's past due 617 says, could that special Florida election be rigged? How do they know the key was not reverse engineered and the results tampered with? I think that's the big question, isn't it? I mean, that's why I read the story because nobody knows. It was a close election. I mean, not that close, but... You know, it could be tampered with. And the Republicans knew they were in trouble, just judging by the number of calls that they made to me and the mailroom manager and other people that I know who are Republicans in the district. But I don't know if it was stolen or not. But it doesn't give you a lot of confidence, does it? That they're letting a Democrat go in there and steal a key. key piece of election apparatus. You have ABC News has spent one minute in 19 seconds between two days when this case was first alerted. You have CBS two minutes in one second. You have NBC 23 seconds spent on the life of a young, beautiful American woman. whose life was taken short by an illegal alien who should have never been here in the first place when we are in the middle of a battle on Capitol Hill with a major political party, the Democrat Party, who wants to defund the agency that is responsible for protecting Americans. I think her life was worth more than 23 seconds on cable television. And I think the people in this room have a responsibility to report on cases like this because it just exemplifies why the president believes so strongly in deporting illegal aliens from our communities. Kennedy Jr., diving, I mean, driving under the influence. It could be worse. As a golfer, he could have been arrested for impersonating Escal. That was his wife who was impersonating Eskakle, I believe. She was the one who beat, his ex-wife. She knocked out the window of his car. But... You know, there's a story today saying, well, the reason he liked to drive himself is he didn't want people knowing what he's doing. I think it's too late, Tiger. I think people know what you've been doing for a long time now. It might as well hire, hire a driver. Hey, Howie, that Boston Common rant by Maura Healey sounded an awful lot like Howard Dean. Yeah.

The Chola suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. She's charged with aggravated DWI driving under the influence in reckless conduct. Four toll lanes were closed. She was only closing down the I-95, the way Americans can't be bothered, closing it down anymore. Maine. department of justice to investigate maine over transgender inmate they are investigating whether maine engages in a pattern or practice of housing transgender inmates who were assigned male at birth in women's prison The DOJ Senate will specifically investigate allegations that Maine has allowed a transgender inmate who was assigned male at birth to remain housed with women at the Maine Correctional Women's Center in Wyndham, despite complaints that the transgender inmate has assaulted or harassed several female inmates. Stop me if you've heard this one before. Is this story appeared in the Portland Press Herald? Bangor Daily News, the Kettaback Journal. I'm going to guess it hasn't, but I don't know. The U.S. attorney for the District of Maine, Andrew Guy Benson, said the U.S. attorney's office is committed to protecting the civil rights of all Maine citizens no matter where they live. Did you ever hear of such a transphobic statement? He's going to protect women in women's prisons from being assaulted by men. Could you imagine a more gross outburst of transphobia? Pam Bondi, Pam Bondi, did not mention the inmate by name, but did say the inmate had killed his parents and a dog and a stabbing. A double murder case in which the convict was transgender, Andrea, who went by Andrew Balcer at the time of the crime, was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to stabbing his parents and the family's dog to death. A search of the main DOC online database on Thursday shows Andrew Balcer, who has a listed alias of Andrea Balcer, serving a sentence at the main correctional women's center in Wyndham. 86 females or 85 females and Andrew Balcer. What could possibly go wrong? Meanwhile, Madison, Wisconsin, a 31-year-old Madison woman, black woman. has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing her former co-worker, a white woman, 61, in a downtown Madison parking garage. Police believe Wallace slashed Jay Jones tires after accusing Jay Jones, the white woman, of being racist because she supported Donald Trump. She had expressed animosity towards the white woman for being a Trump supporter, the complaint says. The black woman's cash bail was set at $2 million. Wallace, the black woman, had a previous felony conviction where she pleaded guilty to resisting an officer with a substantial bodily harm and soft tissue industry. She also had a restraining order previously from the manager of the hotel where the two had worked. She changed her name to Santay Larelle Vargas.

in April of last year. But former co-workers still referred to her as Wallace. And now she's killed a white woman who she didn't like. AutoCare in North Waymouth, Massachusetts. And he's never been stumped on a question about a car. I don't want to jinx him or anything, but he seems to know what he's talking about. And so we've been getting a lot of calls the last few weeks, so get on board now or get your text question in if you like to have it answered before the hour ends. And Bill Broussard, tell us about J.B. AutoCare in North Wayman. Well, thanks for having me, Howie. So we're at 291 Bridge Street in North Weymouth. That's right on Route 3A. We're open seven days a week. We have free loan of cars, and we have master technicians on staff. So it's open seven days a week. There it is. That's the key. 844-542-42. Now, I wanted to know that I said this earlier. I don't have a car that takes high test. But if I had a car that takes high test and I was appalled by the price increase, not that it's totally out. Not that it's at Biden-era increase levels. But suppose I wanted to save a few bucks. Could I downgrade to regular gas if my car manual tells me I need to have high test? Well, what could happen, Holly, is when you have... low octane fuel in the vehicles back in like the old day 70s and 80s if you put low octane fuel in your vehicle you'd hear like a knock and ping like a rattle coming from the motor right so these days you have engine computers and knock sensors so what happens is the knock sensor will detect a knock or a pinging, and it will retard the engine timing. So what happens, you'll lose power in the vehicle, which is going to force you to step on the gas more, which is actually going to cost you more money. So your fuel economy is going to decline because of the low-grade fuel. So you can use it. You definitely won't hear the difference, but you'll feel the difference in your fuel mileage, which is actually going to cost you more money.

You're not going to save a buck by trying to save a buck. Okay, that was, I feared that that was going to be some variation of that answer. But there it is. Bill, this is 207, Bill, I bought a new 2026 Chevy 2,500 HD in November. It's been back to the dealer five times for an intermittent turn signal malfunction. They both act like a bulb is out. Hold on here. I lost it here. like a bulb is out fast flashing it even tells me to check the bulb of course they are LED arrays they have they have replaced numerous modules having to do with the signals what would you do at this point as a tech and as a customer Well, as a customer, I mean, they have obviously the Lemon Law. If they can't fix it within, I believe, three times, you know, look up the law. You know, they have to buy it back. But it's not like a real slam dunk with that. But, you know, just stay on them. You can call the manufacturer. You know, it's funny. I have a newer truck. Same thing, LED lights. So my radio, which is those $15,000 radios, because I skip the navigation and everything else. Yeah. In the Karen Reed, the thing that's missing in the Karen Reed vehicle. Yes. So my radio stopped working, which my navigation stopped working. So I noticed I put my blinker on, and I couldn't hear it anymore. So actually the little clicking noise you hear, which used to be a relay on the dashboard, actually goes through the speaker system. So these cars, you know, that radio thing is really, it's a heartbeat of your vehicle. So. You know, unfortunately, they probably need another radio if I had a guess at it. Oh, man. Used to be, used to be you could leave your car out on the street in Boston in the 70s, and the radio could be gone when you blinked an eye, you know? And then you just drive around and you'd put a transistor radio on the dashboard and drive with it until you had enough money to buy a new radio. Now it's, you're out of... You're out of luck. It's terrible. Yeah. Well, actually, you can't take a radio out of a typical vehicle and put in another vehicle because it has to be programmed to that vehicle with the VIN number, which is what we saw on the Karen Reader vehicle. You can only buy that from Lexus, and it had to be programmed with that particular VIN number. So it wouldn't work in another Lexus. So you couldn't just grab it out of the salvage yard. We still got the auction of the Karen Reed vehicle coming up, though, in May, correct? Yes, we do. May 14th, that Manzi auctions in Wooburg. We'll give you more details on that as we get closer. Car question, are there any four-door sedans being made that a non-turbo, non-hybrid? You know, I'd have to research that, but most of the vehicles that are coming out now, they're really...

you know, beefing up the compression on them, putting turbos on them to, you know, maximize the power out of these smaller vehicles, which increases fuel economy, but it diminishes the life of the motor because really, you know, max redlining these motors, new motors out, which is reducing the life of them long term. You know, back in, you know, the early 2000, some of these vehicles were lasting two, three, four, five hundred thousand miles, which you can still do it if you maintain your vehicle. I don't know if you remember that cash for clunkers back in the 2009. Oh, yes. It removed a lot of the used car market vehicles that of these vehicles that would go, you know, the distance. And it took, you know, it took it off. They took them off the road. And they replace them with these other vehicles. Another brilliant government reform. Yeah. That was a big scam to the cost. That was worse than COVID. Is there a special way, says 857, to get the crankshaft gasket out on a 2015 Dodge Ram, 1,500 V6? It depends on the front or the rear, but there are techniques to doing that. You can use like little drywall screws and walk it out. Lots of YouTube videos about little tricks and techniques on how to remove those. So I would definitely YouTube that and you can find the pretty clever tricks on removing those crank seals. I don't even know what this word mean. How often should I replace the gonculator on my 2015 Toyota Tundra? Gonk? Is that, or did he just mispronounce some word into a voice? I think they're trying to punk us. Okay. Okay. I don't know. I just, you know, sometimes, you know, when people read these things in, they, you know, their tongue gets tied or something and something comes out weird. Okay, we'll just pass on that one. I'm trying to move as many. I'm trying to move as many of these as I can. 844-542-42. So someone just texted in. He used to text me every day during the Karen Reed trial, and he says, are you talking about Karen Reed's death car? She didn't kill anybody, okay? Do you believe the experts or not? Or are you going to believe the state police? Yeah, stay in your lane, people. But he's been waiting. He's probably been waiting for three months to get in something like that. I know, I recognize his phone number. Yeah, yeah, he's calling from the McAlbert's limousine. Joe, in the Corolla, you're next with Howie Carr and Bill Broussard from J.B. AutoCare. Go ahead, Joe. Yeah, it's good afternoon. 2010 Toyota Corolla. I heard a rattling. I looked underneath, and I would say the ranges around the passenger's feet, but there's a metal, like a cover hanging down. And that's what's caused the rallying. What is that covering? I've never seen that. Usually you can look at the whole exhaust system, but there's like a cover there. And it's part of it's rotted. So I think that's why it came off, it's whatever is holding it on to the frame and it's hanging down.

Okay, so what they do around the exhaust system, they'll pull like a heat shield, and what the heat shield does is protect that. you know, the body of their vehicle from, say, catching on fire because the exhaust can, you know, get, you know, 1,000 plus degrees and you're really hot. So what that heat shield does, you know, it eliminates the heat from entering the vehicle of the car. So you definitely want to get that taken care of. You can just run a couple of screws up there. Sometimes you're going to replace them, but you can typically just repair them, you know, screw them back up to the body of the vehicle. Okay, Joe. The other side's rotted. It's rotted, yeah. Maybe you pick up a new one, but sometimes you can take them off. If it's on the lower piece, you can just remove them. But if it's on the upper piece, I would definitely replace that because you don't want the heat going into the vehicle. Good luck, Joe. How much did Karen Reed's car bring in? It hasn't been sold yet. It's going to be auctioned off on May 14th. So if you're interested, you know, we'll give you more information as it gets closer. Well, we know that OGA vehicles, what, after a million dollars? Yeah. This vehicle was never live on national TV in front of 100 million people for hours at a time. But, you know, still, it should be worth some money anyway. 508, the radio talk reminds me of the old FM converters for cars with only AM. Those seemed like they were monstrously complicated back in the day, but it was nothing. It's like Fred Flintstone's car compared to these new, these new quote-unquote radios, right? Oh, night and day, nine day. Yeah. 844-542-42. My 24-F-150 with a 10-speed goes from first to third gear. Is that normal? No, it should go to first, second, third, you know, it should go through the gears. You know, some of these newer transmissions, like, you know, the 10-speed transmissions, you know, they're very computerized. I'm not going to say it's not normal, but, you know, if it feels fine when you're driving and there's no check engine light or transmission light coming on, I'm going to say it could be normal. But if it's just jumping from first or third and it's, you know, not feeling right, I'm going to say that's not normal. All right, Bill, got a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, 150,000 miles, frame and body, good condition. How much money should I put in before trading it in? So far, no major issues.

You know, those vehicles really go the distance. You know, a friend of mine has over 500,000 miles on his vehicle. If the frame is good, the body is good. You know, the replacement value of those vehicles is over $50,000. So even if you have to put $10,000 in your vehicle, it's still a good deal. If you buy a car for $50,000 sales tax is going to cost you $3,500. So. You know, for $10,000, it's well worth the investment. If you had to spend that much, I doubt you would, but I would definitely invest in that vehicle. But $150,000, to me, that car is still breaking in. 844-542-42. Nick, you're next with Howie Carr and Bill Broussard. Go ahead, Nick. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I have a 2002 Lincoln Town Car, 4.6 motor. I've already replaced the keys because I learned that there's computed chips in those keys. Because previously I would turn the key and the starter would turn over and over and over, but the engine would not catch. I replaced the keys and the engine starts to catch. The agent doesn't catch. It turns over, and occasionally it won't catch. So I'm beginning to run into the same problem again. So my question is, if it's not the key, what else is down the line from there? Well, you've got to determine whether it's the immobilizer system or you've got a mechanical problem. It's very common on those vehicles, the immobilizer system, whether it be the key or the actual receiver, which is actually in the steering column. So you can, you know, you've got to plug a computer into it and then you can read it, see if you're getting a signal. But if it's just crank and not start, and then if it's not the immobilizer, you get to see, what's it not getting? Is it not getting spark? or is it not getting fuel? So then you get a diagnosis from there. You know, it's a process of elimination. But I would start with, you know, if you don't have an engine computer to scan it, then I'm supposed you're going to have to take it somewhere, and you can take it to J.B. AutoCare. I have a question pertaining to a 2018 Alpha Romeo Stelvio with a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor. The dealer's telling me the water pump is leaking, and it would cost $2,250 to replace. I'm wondering if I should think about getting rid of the car, trading it, selling it, or whatever, because it seems to me that's a lot of money for a water pump.

Sure it does. Well, it's a lot of, yeah, it's definitely a lot of money for a water pump, but, you know, as we spoke earlier, the replacement value with that vehicle, you know, it's at Alpha Romeo, it's probably, you know, $75,000. So for the investment of $2,000, and it's definitely a lot of money for a water pump, but it's cheaper than replaces. I say, you know, it's always cheaper to keeper. So for $2,000, you know, sales tax is going to cost $2,000. So if you're going to spend $2,000 and it's going to extend the life of that vehicle a year or two, you know, let's break it down into dollars that's $160 a month if it's one year.
