44 segmentsAl Jazeera Podcasts. The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait have welcomed the U.S.-Iran deal, expressing support for diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing regional stability. In a post on X, the UAE said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of full compliance with the terms of the agreement. The Ministry commended the diplomatic efforts, led by his excellency U.S. President Donald Trump, which contributed to reaching this agreement. And Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it reiterates its support for efforts to resolve conflicts through peaceful means and in accordance with international law.
And the UN Charter. It continued on saying that Kuwait calls on all parties to engage in the next round of negotiations with a positive and constructive attitude. Now, Israel's defence minister says his military will not withdraw from territory. It's occupied in southern Lebanon. Israel Katz also warned of retaliation, if, Iran launches an attack because of what's happening in Lebanon. Israeli forces have occupied significant portions of southern Lebanon,
creating what the military calls a buffer zone. But residents who've been forcibly displaced from their homes have begun returning to cities and towns there. The Lebanese army is urging them to not return to border villages, and that's because of possible ceasefire violations. Now, more than a million people in Lebanon were forced to flee when Israel's attack started early March. The British government has won its appeal to uphold its designation of Palestine action as a terrorist group.
The activist group was banned last year after it was accused of breaking into an air base as part of its protests against Israel's genocide in Gaza. Ukraine and Russia have continued to trade strikes targeting energy facilities overnight with multiple casualties. Russian strikes at several cities across Ukraine, killing at least four people in Kiev. The attack also caused substantial damage to a UNESCO listed monastery. That's in the capital.
