Hi from CNN, I'm Josh and Shana with the five things you need to know for Monday, December 22nd. The US is pursuing an oil tanker in international waters off the coast of Venezuela. An official said the US Coast Guard tried to board the ship as it moved toward Venezuela to pick up oil, but the tanker refused to stop. The ship is called Bella One and is under US sanctions for its links to Iranian oil. And this is now the third American operation on tankers related to Venezuela's oil industry this month. The U.S. Coast Guard intercepted the centuries tanker on Saturday, while the skipper was seized on December 10th. Venezuela's foreign minister has condemned what he calls acts of piracy by the U.S. government. While President Donald Trump's crackdown on the Venezuelan oil industry has sparked criticism from lawmakers in his own party, Republican Senator Rand Paul spoke to ABC yesterday. I considered a provocation and a prelude to war, and I hope we don't go to war with Venezuela. Look, at any point in time, there are 20, 30 governments around the world that we don't like that are either socialist or communist or have human rights violations. But it isn't the job of the American soldier to be the policeman of the world. We've got more news coming up, including how the government's release of the Epstein files is facing major blowback. Lawmakers are accusing the Justice Department of flouting the law by releasing only some of the Epstein files. Since Friday, the agency has released thousands of documents related to the convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, many featuring heavy redactions. Democrat Rocana says he's spoken to survivors. One of the survivors said they released her name accidentally, but they still have not released the FBI file about the people who abused her at her request. The problem here is that there are rich and powerful people. We all know this. They're 1,200 victims. They're rich and powerful people who either engaged in this abuse, covered it up or were on this island. And what the American people want to know is who are these people. And instead of holding them accountable, Pam Bondi is breaking the law. Meanwhile, at least 16 files that were released Friday were then seemingly removed from the database as of Sunday. One of them containing an image of President Donald Trump has been restored. Here's how Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained the removals. There were a number of photographs that were pulled down after being released on Friday. That's because a judge in New York has ordered us to listen to any victim or victim rights group if they have any concerns about the material that we're putting up. CBS has made a last-minute decision to shelve a 60-minute story on Trump deportees, and staffers tell CNN some employees are threatening to quit. The segment features the accounts of Venezuelan men deported by the Trump administration to a notorious maximum security prison in El Salvador.

But the two sources say CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss weighed in with questions on Saturday morning, her main issue being the lack of a response from the Trump administration. Yesterday, CBS News said the decision to hold the segment was because it needed additional reporting. More details have been revealed about last week's terror attack at Pam Bondi Beach in Australia. 15 people were killed in the shooting, which authorities say targeted a crowd of Jewish families celebrating Hanukkah. Here's CNN's Mike Valerio. Police say the accused attackers had three pipe bombs and one tennis ball bomb that the accused attackers threw into the crowd of people before they started shooting. According to investigators, all those bombs, all those explosive devices were viable, but none of them detonated. It was also another... larger IED that was found in the trunk of the father and son's car brought to the scene of the attack. First, the Louvre, and now the French presidential palace has fallen victim to thieves. We'll tell you more next. Hey, it's Christy from Lulu Lemon. I'm here at the office, and we just dropped some really fun new summer colors in the Flow Y styles. If you're like me, you've loved the FlowY tank and bra for years, and as of this year, it also comes in a dress and a crop tank. These are made in our buttery soft Nulu fabric, and my favorite part is the built-in bra. It makes it super easy to wear for yoga or honestly as an everyday basic. Silverware worth thousands of euros has been stolen from the French presidential palace in Paris. The Paris prosecutor's office says three men were arrested this week and will stand trial over the theft next year. The Elyse Palace's head steward reported the disappearance, estimated to be worth between $17.5 and $47,000. Questioning of the staff led investigators to suspect one of them, and on that staffer's personal account on the online marketplace vinted, the authorities found items that aren't usually available to the public. And that's all for now. We're on a special holiday schedule this week, so our next episode drops at 6pm Eastern. I'm Dr. Sanjay Gupta, host of the Chasing Life podcast. We're going to talk to Dr. Jennifer McIntyre. She's a microbiologist and also founder of food safety strategy, which consults with food companies about how to deal with food safety, including cyclospora. Also, perhaps most importantly, we'll tell you what you can realistically do to protect yourself beyond the standard guidance to wash your fruits and veggies. If we look at outbreaks that have happened in the past, We usually hypothesized that there was water that was contaminated with raw sewage, including from somebody or maybe a few people who were carrying cyclospora.
