It is definitely something blues fans look forward to all year long, and it's this weekend. It's Blues at the Arch. Big Festival, Jason Douglas is the senior manager of events for the Gateway Arch Park Foundation. It's going to be hot, but worth it. Tell us a little bit about it. It is. So this is the 11th annual blues at the Arch Music Festival, presented by the Stewart Family Foundation. And it's a three-day music festival that is free for the whole community to come out, enjoy their parks. So we have a mission at the foundation to make sure that we activate these green spaces and make sure that we make it accessible for the community to come and enjoy entertainment. All sorts of things that are right in their front yard. It starts today. So what time and how does Friday differ from, say, Saturday and Sunday? So Friday, it starts at 4.30 p.m. and goes to 8 p.m. and it's right at the North Gateway. So that's the new edition of the National Park that borders La Cleese landing. Saturday starts at 2 p.m. till 9 p.m. And then on Sunday, it starts at 2 p.m. again until 6 p.m. All right. So we did mention the heat. Any advice there? Should people bring plenty of water or maybe even an umbrella just to block out the sun? So yes, you can definitely bring water. We'll have water and refreshments there for purchase. But you can bring an umbrella as long as you don't stake it into the grounds because this is a national park. And we also have a cooling bus thanks to Metro. Oh, that'll be good too. Yeah. How many artists and what are some of the names? So we have seven artists over the three days. On Friday, we have the Sulaw Blues Band and Mr. Sip from Mississippi. He's a national recording blues artist who's going to be here for, I think, the second time in the festival's history. On Saturday, we have Mr. Jay also from a...

Mississippi, and then we have Lady J. Houston. So she's a local artist here. And then on closing out on Saturday, we have Taranzo Cannon. So he's out of Chicago, and he's going to go right into our fireworks spectacular to close out Saturday. Ooh, a firework spectacular. Yeah. I love that. Yeah, you know, something for everyone to enjoy. So, you know, even if you're not really familiar with the blues genre and everything, I think there's going to be a little bit something for you to just. go in and feel the great vibrations of, you know, being downtown in St. Louis. Yeah, and just live music. There's really nothing like free live music. Free live music, yeah. That's, you know, it just makes you feel good. And then what about Sunday? So Sunday we have Devin C. Williams. He was an American Idol finalist, I think, on season 11. And then we have Truly Brave from Louisiana. She's going to close us out for the weekend. For people who have gone in the past, you said this is the 11th annual, anything new or different or any changes that people need to know about? Yes, on Saturday we have an educational panel that's going to be at 3.30 p.m. in our tent over in the Explorers Garden. So you're going to hear from local legends in the blues genre like U.V. Hayes, Bernie Hayes, and Chris Shepard. They're going to talk about their experience with the blues and just how St. Louis played a great role. in the genres and the history of blues music. Yeah, definitely. I'm looking forward to it. I'll have to figure out which day, which time to go. Yeah. Pick what works best for your schedule and everything, but that'll be something for you to enjoy throughout the whole weekend. So we look forward to seeing you. Stay hydrated, folks, but it's going to be lots of fun at the 11th annual Blues at the Arch Festival. Jason Douglas, senior manager of events for Gateway Arch Park. Have a fantastic weekend.
