Live. from the Numerica studio and brought to you by Northern Quest Resort and Casino. It's the Dave and Molly Show. Hi. How's it going? Good. How are you? I'm all right. And before anybody... How are you doing? Fine. That wasn't the issue this morning. No, it wasn't. Not at all. I'm having just lots of issues. I'm fighting something off again. Like, it's probably the air. But my eyes, I have to find a better way to get the makeup off of my eyes that is not something that's going to burn my eyes. So that's the problem is that. And I'm checking our YouTube to make sure that we're on. I think we are. I think so. Okay. It's delayed. We want to believe that we are. So what happens is that when I try to get rid of the rest of the makeup from the night before, basically, then something gets in my eyes. And then once it does, I can't stop my eyes from absolutely, like, running. And so it happened again this morning. And so it sets me way behind because I can't get makeup. I can't leave the house. Like, I can't see anything. I can't drive with it. So I need to get a better lady.
If you know of a good makeup remover that's easy on the eyes, that makes would help me. That would be so great. Please. It's delaying my whole thing. But the good news is when you are running late, then there's a McDonald's open on your way in. That is true. And then you provide for the family. I do. That is my, I say, Dave, can you handle the TV obligations on your own? It's got a sausage fest, right? Hey. It's stamped on his own this week, too. Yeah. It was me, Sam and Justin. Nice. Yeah. Well. And that allows me to, yes, stop. And so the McDonald's on Sprague is very, they're very, very nice. I love the lady who works there. She's very, she's very pleasant. So there you go. That's Mol. Coconut oil. Coconut oil. What do you think about that? I think that sounds great. I just, it's my fault. Trevor says, let's go, yay, who is entertain me. That's pretty good. Sorry. We're like poodles to train poodles. Anyway, that's pretty good. Now, now I'm here. Yeah. And, and, yeah. Feeling good, feeling strong? I feel. Hard charging into the weekend? Go on now. Go now, kids. Go on now. Yesterday, I was on the phone with my friend, Steve, who I, you know, we do with the movies together and stuff. And I was on the highway. It was 520. It was packed with people. There was a layer of smoke. And I said, it might as well be 1977 in Los Angeles. This is how, this, and that is how it looked in Los Angeles in the 70s was just smog. traffic. It was so ugly. And I just, this summer, like, it's just, it's hard to, um, like, yeah, I don't know. Once I got home, I was fine. But. It's been driving a lot. Other than that. I saw a pretty good meme the other day with the air quality. And I am Mr. Air. Like I'm, you know, I love the fresh air. Yes. I'm overly sensitive. I'm pretty wimpy when it comes. It's fatiguing to me when it's smoky. But there was a funny meme that I saw that it says, today's air quality, 1976 bowling alley. And then they had like a picture of like, you know, remember the bowling alley's in the 70s? It was just this smoky, dingy kind of, you know. Plus you got the grease from the diner that's attached to it. And I thought, well, that's a pretty darn good analogy. Yep. So yesterday, it wasn't bad. I was out for a stretch. I'll get to it here in a minute. But it was.
It was more muggy than it was smoky. It got, you know, last night at one point, I was sitting outside after dinner and the wind kicked up. It would, but like a cool. thing, and I thought, oh, it's going to storm. Here comes fall. Yeah. No, but no. No, but no. But no, but no. Yeah, how was your day yesterday? It was good. It was busy. I was here for a while, and then I headed home, and I said to my trusty, loyal dog, I said, Maui. Put on your Wednesday best. We're going for a walk. Nice. And we got to, and that's when I did notice. I just thought it was, it was pleasant. I didn't think the air quality was, you know, it was under 100 on the whatever meter they have for the air quality thing. But the headline of yesterday's walk was the mugginess. It just was, it was just thicker air. Yeah, it was hot. And we did a good walk. It was close to an hour. And it was good to get her. I know she was very happy to be out. And then I got, once I came home from that, it was, I was more tired than I thought. Oh. And I thought, I'm going to lay down and then just see what happens. Yeah. And then I could tell right away. It's like, oh, it's, I'm going under. It's happening. It's happening. So I drifted away for about an hour, which was actually pretty good. No alarm said or anything. And then I woke up and felt okay. That's good. I'm going to be okay. Good. And then we rallied. I took my daughters. We went to Rancho. Yes. It was kind of like Samantha's last little family outing, really, before she leaves. And then Christy, my oldest, she just got back from Ireland. So we've all kind of been. Different places. Samantha's been getting moving stuff ready. So we packed up in the family truckster and we went over to Rancho. And we got our spot. Hello, my friends. Yes. Godfather. Although he did not say hello, my friends. In fact, as soon as we were driving in, I saw Jose's car. And I said, oh, good, he's here. And then both Christy and Samantha said, hello, my friend. I said, yes, he's going to say that. We know he's going to say that. But we walk in, and he didn't see us at first. It was somebody else that saw us. And then they yelled. to him. And then he came over and he says, oh, you're here or something. But he didn't say, hello, my friend, like he normally does. Maybe he doesn't like that we say that. Maybe he knows that we say that's what Nadine said. Well, maybe he's, he's hearing you guys say that. And then he doesn't want it. He doesn't like the hello of my friend. You don't know me. I have different greetings. Yeah. So we had a nice Mexican dinner. It's the food of my people. Do you have a godfather? I had a very, I had a small one.
Yeah. And that was enough for me. Now, do the kids, I know Christy doesn't, but does Samantha like to have a couple? Samantha, she has a corona. A corona. Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Had a corona. Yeah. So it was very nice. Yeah. And the comment was made as, as we were leaving, that there was no food on any plate. When we left. Good parenting, Dave. Teach those girls well. Got to clean your plates. So that was wonderful. And then they went off to do some thrift store shopping. Oh, yeah. Before Samantha. What time did you eat? It was a very respectable five-something. Oh. Yeah, in the five o'clock hour. Much later than what we normally do. So I thought it was pretty good. Look, there's... Oh, there's our friends from Eastern. We're in a little fishbowl here. Yeah, we're in a fishbowl. So that was great. And then, so then I went home for a little bit, but then rallied to the valley. Oh, yeah. Needing was doing some coaching. And so I got there for that. I missed most of it just because of the dinner and everything. But that was nice. And then when I left her office last night, it was dark. And I just said, it is, we are shifting into. What time did you go to the valley? What time are you on the highway? I was on the highway at 6.30. Oh, yeah. That's after the peak. Yeah. Yeah, I hit it. I hit peak time yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. And then I left there a little after 8. Well, it was probably close to 8.30, I guess. And it was, it's like nighttime. Yeah. You know. Remember a month ago when you could. You could be out till 9 and it's still light out. I was thinking about that. I was driving to get the girls the other day from karate, and it was 5.45 when I was going to get them. And I thought in a couple of months, it'll be dark when I dropped them off at 5. That's what Alex used to be at 4.30. His karate was 430 to 5.30, and it would be dark when I dropped them off. Yeah. Crazy. When do they do the thing where it just stays normal? I think they're close to talking. I don't believe it. I know. You know what? And I don't blame you for not believing it. It'll be like, oh, we finally decided. And the North South Freeway opened and everything is fine. Are we finished it? There is a right near the falls, or not the falls, sorry, the community college. Have you seen the, it's the underneath, it's what will be the underneath of the bridge, how ornate it is. Have you seen like the, it is, I don't know, some artists went in there and just did so much. All the like sketchings into the cement and everything. This episode sponsored by She's Birdie.

They've made tremendous progress in the last, I'd say, five years. And it started? I believe it was in the 50s. No. Yeah. I think that was the first time that it was talked about with a North South Freeway. There's parts of it that are open that are fantastic. Those are great because you're the only one there. I don't think people know about it. I got a ticket on it at one time. That's what they know. It's like it's a free-for-all out there. So then the one cop is, you know what I'm going to do? I want to go plant myself. Because I know what's going to happen. Somebody's going to get excited if they have the whole place to themselves, let her rip. Well, that was me. So anyway, yeah, it was good. I was, you know, it's a full week. But we will be off on Monday. So we've got a three-day weekend coming up. So that always makes the. Like get up easier? Yeah, it's a little bit. Oh, and then I wake up at 3 o'clock this morning. Oh. But I had, you know, I had a little bit of a nap. Yeah. And I went to bed at a very reasonable time. I woke up at 3. And I just thought, I think I'm okay. So I probably got out of bed about 3.20, which is on some days, that would be an hour earlier than normal. Yeah. But got a few things done. And then. Then got here and then heard the news that Moles was coming in late. Yeah. She said, you got to do the TV thing. Yeah. What did you guys talk about on TV? We talked about the, it was very, very, you know, relevant. There's a good percentage of people that have not taken a summer vacation. Oh. And as it was in the story, 23% of people are sad that they haven't made the most of summer. I would be in that. You're in the sad category. I didn't get to do my pilgrimage to the coast this year. And that is a really important thing that I do every year. And it just didn't work out because we had, I had the French, the vacation, the France vacation. And that is not something that I planned. I loved doing it, but it wasn't something I would have put in my deal. I would have waited and taken a week off. And then there was somewhere else that I went.
Or something else that happened that took up some vacation-ish time. It just kind of... I do like these little three-day weekends. I think those are a smart way to recharge the batteries. Yeah, especially in the summer, too. It's nice. Yeah, I was talking with Sam on the air about it. I didn't really have a summer vacation either. But there was a late April, that Boston trip, which to me, that really sort of was kind of the kickoff to... I mean, that was the best thing ever. It was pretty great. And our trip, I mean, the trip to France, I mean, it was a great trip. It just wasn't. I felt like I went somewhere else. Oh, I know, Vegas for Stacey's wedding. Yes. That was the other. How can you forget about Vegas? Well, that was, I think a lot of things are gone. That was another right in the middle of the week kind of take, which was also wonderful. It's just different. Sam's going to be in Vegas next week. Is it? I don't know if you're doing in Vegas. ACVC concert. Are they playing there all the time as that was happening? I think it's multiple shows. Okay, because our other friends just got back from there. Oh. Anywho. Uh. Yeah, so I left here, remember I said I'm going to go get some new shoes. Oh, that's right. You're going to go to Fleet Feet. I went to Fleetville. I'm not wearing them. You're not wearing them. No. But so you've gotten your shoes at Fleetview before. You know they do the scan and everything. The young guy, he greets me. They're all very, very nice. And he's, well, let's take this upstairs. Like, oh, you want me away from the people. Oh, you're going upstairs. I think they wanted me away from the others so nobody was frightened. So we go up to the loft, but the thing about it is very warm up there. And so I was overdressed for it. So I was kind of, you know, so stripping down as I'm taking off my sweatshirt, I think the guys go, no, no, no, no, no. That's not why we're up here. Lady, hey, old lady, keep your clothes on. It's not why we're here. So anyway, they do the scan. And so the scan is there, and I have the 3D thing of my feet. It's pretty cool. Then they have you walk across this black thing. And they see, he goes, just walk normally. All of a sudden, I didn't know how to walk. I was like, I said, well, you have to time it. They don't want you to step on the tape. They want you to. When someone tells you to walk purpose, it's like you should never have to think about walking. No, it's so dorky. I could throw you off. I said, I don't know that that was a good version of my walking. He said, no, I caught what I needed. So anyway, he set me up. I got the shoes and the inserts and I like the shoelaces that are. See, terms and conditions, 21 plus. permanent shoelaces, they're made out of the stretchy stuff so that you never have to tie your shoes. Oh, you just slip them on? You slip them on. So it's great. What's the brand? What brand did you get? A shoe. Yeah. I don't know. Did they give you choices? I had a few choices. I was just going to see if I had my fleet feet receipt. Maybe it says in here. I don't know. I can't remember what kind they were. Oh, it says we're not on YouTube. What? How are we not on YouTube? I see us. I'm looking right at us. Isn't that us? Yes. Morning all. Yeah. Yeah. Who said we're not on YouTube? Jesslyn and Debbie. Well, refresh. Oh, refresh. Yeah, always refresh. Do the old refresh. Yeah. Anyway, sorry, Julia. We're on there. So you, uh... So, so I, um... Uh... I see. You have Bobby sees us. Okay. So anyway, I don't remember the kind, but I got, but here's what they do too. So the socks that they sell there are my favorite socks. Oh, yeah. Or whatever they're like compression type? They're not compression, but they're super soft and they don't grab at the ankles and stuff. But when they, they always have you try. with a fresh pair of socks. They always try the shoes on. And then they sell the socks to you for half price. Correct. Now, I don't know what happens to the socks if you say I don't want the socks. But anyway, I got a new pair of socks. So I got new socks. And maybe you should wear new socks every day.
Maybe you should. I have worn about two or three pairs of socks this whole summer. Oh. Because I don't wear tennis shoes. I've only been out on a couple of walks. But the new socks felt so good. If I, I think that the problem is some of my socks I've been around too long and so they don't have that softness. I've spent the whole summer in my flip-flops. So I was explaining to him that the scar tissue and everything from my bad, you know, botched surgery, which by the way, I'm not going to mention names, but somebody said to me, was this the doctor that did it? And when I said, yes, they said, of course it was. Oh. So. Dr. Botcher. Dr. Botcher. Anyway. So I said, it's going to be a problem. He did the best he could. He found the biggest. toe box, you know, thing. And I think they're pretty good. I told them what we were going to be doing. And then my friend Mary's son used to work there. And so we are talking about Mary coming in and her son and all of that. Very, very, very sweet. The thing with fleet feet. They're giving away free shoes, but what you need to do is you need the little card. If you go into the Fleet Feet stores, they'll give you a little card, and then they send you to their, it's like a factory outlet type thing, and then that's where they're distributing the shoes. So you can't just go, because I was telling them about my friends who are staying at my house, and he said, oh, make sure you give them one of these so they can go get themselves some new shoes. So that's a pretty cool thing that they're doing. It's amazing. And, and I think Lulu Lemon is doing that. Yeah, Fleet Feet. Yeah, Fleet Feet. Thank you. And he was just saying how much he loved working there and what nice people they are. And then I was telling him about our walk to the, to the casino. And he goes, well, that's, that's, that's a, that's decent size walk. And I said, yeah, I know. Yeah. I worry about my foot. So I'll be breaking my shoes in slowly. So that was great. That got me out just in time, went to pick up the girls, and it was decided that we were going to go to the live action movie of Moana. It was either Toy Story 5 or Moana. They hadn't seen 1, 2, 3, and 4, so they were worried they wouldn't be able to keep up with number 5. I said, I believe it's a standalone situation. They were worried about the numbers. So. We get out to B&B, and I thought, well, you're right by the casino. Well, we're there. So we get ourselves situated, and we all have blankets. I always have blankets for the kids when we go to the movies. Well, I'm glad I did because it was very chilly in there, but we were cozy. So I feel bad. So we look at the thing on the screen. It's a small theater. There's two seats taken. And I let the girls pick where they wanted to sit. And it was in front of the only two seats taken. But I'm thinking it's a mom and a little kid. You tell me if this, it's Moana. It is a, I'm going to say, a man in his 70s and another man in their 30s.
and look to be father's son, and that's who was watching Moana on a Wednesday at 1 o'clock. We don't judge. I thought it was on. We don't make predictions. And then, of course, what's the deal with that? Yeah, we're the Yehus who come sit right in front of them. You can't, we're not blocking anything, but still, the girls, they like to chatter and stuff. I should have moved us down. We order food. The food there is so good. I had these cauliflower like wings and chicken fingers and we got a big thing of popcorn and we're all settled in and luckily had our blankets. And I, here's the thing, the kids. If grandma's dozing off, let her doze. Leave her alone. She's tired. It was that kind of dozing. And the movie was fine. I don't know why they did it because they've told the story with The Rock already. And even my one granddaughter, she said that's. that's the rock. He's the guy from the cartoon too. And I said, yeah, I don't know why they did that. But they did. And it was very, the girl was good. It was all fine. But it was chilly. I had the blanket. And that kind of thing where it. And what time in the afternoon is this? The movie started at 110. So really 1.30. And I've just been driving a lot and just out a lot. But as soon as I start to get into that deep. deep where it's like, oh, God, this is so good. Grandma, you sleeping? No. Alex is the worst. The girls are better. They'll let me some doze, but he will start poking me. Stay awake, stay awake. So we finished the movie, and then, of course, they want to go over to Kids Quest. Of course, so you, I mean, you. So I sat in the lobby and I read. I was going to get myself an ice cream cone, and I just sat there and I ate my ice cream cone and I read my book. Did you? What kind of ice cream? The kind that's cold and icy. So I went into, I said just one hour because of the scheduling and it didn't go very well, but it was nice to be there. And I realized that there's not been a day without a casino in a week almost. Today, I pledge. I will not go to the casino. And I will not go tomorrow. Well, no, I won't. I won't. I won't go this weekend at all. So anyway, they do that. We go to the cyber quest. They do that, and then I get them home. But here's the problem. So we're going the back way, right? It's lined up traffic up T.J. Manick, so I say we're going to go down around the golf course. That's what I do. So you can take a right and it swing around. Yep, yep, yep, yep. Well, we get down there. The road's closed. They have no other warnings for you at all. So now what has to happen is you have to go back up. Get back on the bridge going the wrong way all the way. And just to get back in line. Yes. Oh, boy. Not here, not on my watch. Oh. I went over, took a left, and I went back down. And then I went up into the other neighborhood. But that took so much longer. I should have just gotten in line. And it was double. It was illegal. But I was starting to get like that to 5 o'clock. I want to be home now. And I just.
I don't know if it's closed, why it's closed. It wasn't closed coming the other way. You just couldn't go. But they should have had a warning up top saying road down there was closed or something. There was just no warning for it. So anyway, I finally got them dropped off and then I'm heading across town. Then I went through 1977's Los Angeles traffic. The traffic was, it was a lot. And then, but we did our video. We made, um, we made a filet mignon and we made some sweet potatoes and a wedge salad. And that was, uh, we were, we did our black and white cooking videos and put them up last night. Okay. So here's the other thing. So didn't have any. Today is national filet mignon day. Oh, I was a day earlier. Yeah. You always celebrate on the eve. Yeah, I do. So we didn't have any red wine. And by that time, we were already home. And I said, okay, but we have white wine. So I find a bottle of rosan, I think it's called, and it's from Mary Hill. And I put it in the freezer. It's a white wine. Put it in the freezer to quickly freeze it. Then we find a different bottle of Abiano or something. So we go ahead and have that. And even in the video, I said, don't be afraid to have a glass of white wine with your steak. I know it's not, that wine is great. And I said, again. remind me that we have a bottle of wine in the freezer. And he said, yep, bottle of wine in the freezer. I said, yep, bottle of wine in the freezer. Well. We eat our dinner. We watch Reacher. I fall asleep. I go to bed. I wake up. I go in the freezer to get something. And a bottle of wine in the freezer. Bottle of wine is now open in the freezer. The cork popped out. Oh. Yeah. The cork. Because there's not as much alcohol in wine. So it will free. Like if you put a bottle of vodka in there, it's not going to freeze. But wine will. And so the cork was no longer in the bottle. I don't know when it happened. I'm glad it wasn't more of an explosion. And there was a little bit of wine. Mostly it was still in the bottle because it was pretty frozen. So I put that out on the counter. And I forgot to tell Ken this morning. I don't know if he's listening or not. But if you go in the kitchen and there's a bottle of open wine, it wasn't me drinking it this morning. It was just that. Yeah, you just need a little something to take the edge off before you went into the show. This episode sponsored by She's Birdie. It's that next one down. So it's $17 for two stakes and plenty of steak for each of us. That's really good. Good. Because usually it's more like 30 or something. It's kind of usually double that. So. And double the steak, double the fun. So that was it. We started watching Reacher. And of course, I'm going, oh, that's the one he's going to sleep with. He always has somebody he does stuff with. And so the first part of the show, I said, I bet he sleeps with her or no. And then we see this beautiful Asian woman. And she's kind of the lead character. I said, there it is. He's going to do it with her. We all agree. And even the way he looked at her and the way she's like, Can you help me? Do you think you can help me? And it's like, oh, yeah, she likes the reach. That's like Madman was like that. There'd be a new person that would, you know, be in an episode of, okay, he's going to end up with her in some form. Yeah. That's why they, you know. Yeah. That's why there's a story about them in there. Uh-huh. So was there more than just one episode of Reacher? There is three. Okay, so they released three. And how many, and you? I watched half of one. Half of one. I don't know what Ken did. He made it. And you watched half of Moana, half of Spider-Man, half of. What was the other movie that you only watched half of? Hail Mary. Hail Mary. Yeah. Ken is listening and so Ken, oh, that's from the other day. So sorry about that, Rosanne. I think if you put the cork back at it, it might be okay. I just put it in the fridge now, let it thaw out. Yeah. I actually enjoy the white wine from Mary Hill. It's really the only white wine. They have a couple of different ones, not Chardonnay. I don't like Chardonnay very much, but. Even their chardonnay is pretty good. And so that's saying something. But it was interesting having white wine with steak last night. I like Mary Hill. They had when we did the TV hit.
You know, Sam and I, we're co-workers today. Yeah. But the video before we went on live was from the Mary Hill cameras. Oh. Those are all, that's all happening now. Ooh. Yeah. And it's a very, it's a, you know, pretty view. Yeah. Nice. That all started with a conversation when we were talking to them. Hey, you know, they should have a camera on our deck because our view is fantastic. And then one thing leads to another, boom, it's on TV. And what's your relationship to Bob? Bob's your uncle. You're supposed to say what's to, yeah. Oh, what's my relationship? Yeah. Oh, yeah. And then I say Bob's your uncle. Yes. Bany's your aunt. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah, three episodes out. Yes. Yep. And there's a new Ted Lasso that came out. Did you? I'm going to let that stack up. Okay. Me too. I haven't watched that. There's two. It's possible maybe late next week. You know, you get, when you get three, it feels like, okay. I'm not going to watch more than three anyway. Right. So that's a good. That's a good, that's a good one to do. The other thing is, you know how your saddest thing is when you have to cancel a golf round? That is very sad. Well, my saddest thing is canceling a reservation for the RV. And I had to do that. And I, not, and it was a variety of reasons, not because of the incident, which is. being handled today. I think we'll pick it up today. So the window's fixed. And it's already got a new window. Yeah. Sam is efficient. Pretty speedy. Yes. As I told the story about what happened to Sam and Stacey when, you know, for those of you who didn't hear it, he was driving my RV and his driver's side window, he's driving along, boom, shatters, explodes. He's got construction on one side and a massive semi-truck on the other. The fact that he, in a two-lane road, the fact that nothing happened but... When I tell people about that, and I, how would you think you would react? And we all are like, how did he not crash? Yeah. How do you keep it going? That's. And he's got to be going at least 60. He was going to 55. He said he was at, yeah. So that's that and then that. And it's bad enough when I know when a little rock hits my wish. I'm like, oh, my God. Like, I become tunes as the driving cat. I'm like, oh, my God. Anything that happens. Any loud noise. I'm a jumpy person. My friend Patrick, he said he was driving one day and a semi blew out a tire right next to him. And he said that almost made him. And I think about that now when I'm passing semi-trucks, I just try to get past as fast as I can because that scare me. Yeah. So anyway, that's getting solved. But so here is the weird thing that I've been calling the Northern Quest for two days. And their phones weren't working. And finally, I got through yesterday and talked to the person and canceled the, because I was going to stay out there tomorrow night. But it was just the weirdest thing. All of their 800 numbers, all of it was.
Yeah. Computer issue or something. Yeah. But they're back up. But everything's fine now. They're back up. But the point of the story is that I had to cancel that. But it's okay because I'm going to hang out with Alex tomorrow and then we'll go out on Saturday. What do you mean go out? In the RV. Oh, then you're fine. Blackwell for a couple of days. Oh. Yes. Yes. It just, I think I'm making a mature choice. It was going to be me by myself at the casino on a Friday night. Nobody to say come to bed. Nobody to say shut it down. Well, there may be a few people who would say come to bed, but it's probably not the people you want. Yeah. And not for the right reasons. Um, uh, Lisa S loved your cooking show last night. Oh, thank you. Oh, what kind of oil? This, it was similar to the salmon one that you did the other day. Almost exactly the same. Okay. It's, but I sear the steak on, on all of the sides except the one and then set that down and then put it in there. And it's olive oil, just olive oil. I guess I should have said that. And Ken's little potatoes were really good. And then the wedge salad, he, he made some pickled. cherry tomatoes and like vinegar and garlic and stuff. And so those were really good. We put those on the salad. It's good. Blue cheese. And somebody... I had a sensible salad for lunch yesterday. Oh, that's good. Yeah. Then I lost my mind when I went to Rancho. What do you eat when you go to Rancho? I get the same thing every time. What is it? Well, it's not on the menu, but it's a, it's like I have two soft chicken tacos. Yeah. Um, uh, flour tortilla. And then no beans, just rice. So just two tacos and a bunch of rice? Well, it's a, yeah, a little bit of rice. And then there's like this, it's like a Mexican... coleslaw kind of a thing. I don't know what it's, there is a name for, I can't remember what it did, but anyway, so I have that. But I, when the, the girls ordered, and then I just looked at Jose and he says, you want what you want, yeah, and then that's what it is. Do you have nachos to start? No, we have chips, though. Oh, yeah, chips and they start off with chips, and then they bring out the hot and the mild, and the girls like the mild, and then I will have the hot, and then once. my food comes, I mix in some hot with the mild, and then I pour that on the tacos and the rice. Yes. Yeah. It's pretty good. I like, and I don't know if they have it there. They have it at the Mexican place that's... What's it called? It's at the Riverstone in Cordillane. That Mexican place that's right next to the movie theater. I know which one. I know the, yeah. And they have this corn situation. And it's like a corn breadish, but it's got corn in it and it's sort of sweet.
And it's, I love it. It's so good. They have as an appetizer and they put some salsa type stuff on top of it. But that's my favorite. I haven't had a Mexican dinner in a long time. It's very filling. Yes. Still in me. Still in me. And started off the morning with a sausage McMuffin. Yes. That's going to be my fuel for the day. Yeah. I got a long day ahead. I didn't bring any other breakfast items because I thought from getting breakfast, I think, would be good. And then, and you gave Sam a hash brown? I gave Sam the Hashbrown, and I had a burrito, breakfast burrito from Mickey D's. I like that. It's good. There's something on the menu, and I almost got it today, but I thought, it's the sweet honey. Have you seen the advertisement? It's like a sweet biscuit. It's got bacon and cheese and egg, and then it's got drizzled, like, honey stuff over the biscuit. It looks so good. But, yeah, Azteca in Cortellane, thank you. Azteca has this sweet corn. Oh, I was thinking of something else. Okay. I was way off. You came there when we did the movie, when we watched the propeller movie. Oh, the secret movie night. Yeah, I remember. And then they had all the food there. Yes. That was Azteca? Yes. Oh. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Oh, it was a fun night. That's very nice. Mm-hmm. Yeah. That's the last time I saw your uncle. Mm-hmm. That's right. Well, and I checked in on our movie, and I'm hoping it's done tomorrow. I have a lot of things that are out there waiting, and the waiting, waiting for answers, waiting for something to be done. The waiting is the hardest part. The waiting is the, now I know that song is such, oh, oh, yeah, I mean, yeah, that's really good. Thank you. I don't like waiting on things. I'm not very patient. I realize that. I, that is, I. I can withstand a lot of things. Not getting answers pisses me off. It really does. I don't like that not knowing. And when I find that I've left somebody hanging, like in a string of text, I'm like, oh, no. Well, then that's the, yeah, then you got to back down. I feel terrible. Like, oh. Get off your high horse. Exactly. Somebody helped me off here. Yeah. So, but I just, I think that when things are dangling out there, it's so frustrating because you want to move forward with things or you just want an answer and you want to say to people, no is a fine answer. Just say it. Again, I have a few unanswered emails that I need to happen today. Hey guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. Play social casino style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbacino.com. No purchase necessary. PGW. Boy, we're prohibited by law. See, terms and conditions, 21 plus. I mean, they both, they all knew that Azteca. We got two lenders in a row. Oh. Yeah. What are the odds of that?
Like if everybody texted in at the same time, all of our listeners. Yeah. Like not just the numbered listeners, but all the people listening. Yeah. Whatever, the thousand number, whatever. Yeah. What are the odds that you'd have two people with the same first names back to back? It's so exciting. Let's try it with the Jennifer's now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's go Jennifer's and then what are the other names that we have a lot of? Oh, the Michelle's. We have a lot of Michelle spelled all different spelling too. Yes. Well, one of the Michelle said that they had that road closed because of the fire. But I think it was like an access road to out there. But it wasn't closed the other way. That's what's weird. Somebody was coming out of it. I almost went around the barricades. But the girls were like freaking out. There's the difference between the girls and the boys. Alex would be like, just go around it. The girls. Grandma, that's illegal. That's illegal. You're going to get a ticket. That's illegal. Girls, settle down. Grandma does a lot of stuff illegal. I'm still here. I'm still fighting. Let me put this cigarette out for a second. If I followed every rule, what kind of fun will we be having, huh? So. Uh, Jesselin, yes. There's not two Jeslins, just you. Uh, that is just, that's correct. There's only one Trevor, too. Got some Lisa's, got a couple different Bryans. We have a few Kendras. Uh, we have a few, uh, Melissa's. We only have one Shay. Uh, we have two Dallises. Oh, we have multiple sherries. Yes. And, and with different spelling, too. I think now we have an Olivia, but we may only have one Olivia. Uh, let's see. John's, we've got a few Jay Jones. But I think Jen is the number one listener, right? Jen or Jennifer. Yeah, we only have one Olivia. Yeah, Linda. And that's our friend, Olivia. Linda says, way to go, other Linda. They texted. Back to back. That's very exciting. Oh, it's a numbers game. It's very exciting. Oh, and speaking of numbers. What? Last night, somebody hit the powerball for $1 billion. I didn't know. It was that high. Yeah. Um, I have a lottery story. So, oh, I was going to tell you this. So I go to, uh, Rosars and near Kenthouse. Right. And I'm standing in the, it was the line that's kind of like counter. So what is this like university and where? Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So it's, now it's 5.30, 545. And so it's busy. So I go to the, the line where there's the people there. It's the lottery thing. So it looks like a shorter line. Well, this guy had. I witnessed him cashing 25 different tickets. And it would go, bum, bam, ba, bam. Oh, yeah. And the guy behind me, he goes, I never get that noise, ever. Look at how many things. The noise never comes. It just comes. He says, it just says, thank you for your money. Thank you for your money. I don't know what he was doing. I don't know why he picked 530 in the afternoon to do it because it's busy time there. Don't they have a machine? Don't they have? They do, but he was using the, he just wanted the cash. He wanted the person. Probably he wanted the cash.
As I, so the entire time I'm standing in line, she's cashing him out, nonstop, nonstop, all the way until, and I had four people in front of me, or three people, all the way until I'm leaving. As I'm walking out the door, I'm hearing, bum, bum, and I'm like, what is going on? I don't know if he's in a lottery club. I don't know if he had one number on each one, but all of them were winners. I don't know what it equal to. Well, some people will just save them for one trip and then they'll do it all. I'll do that with like the hit five. Yeah. I will, if I win free tickets, I'll hang on to them until the pot gets way up there. Then I'll use all the free ones. But I don't go to a person. Yeah. You can do it at the machine. She had to call somebody else in to help us because she was preoccupied with him and she had seven people in line. It was ringing in my head. But good for him. It just was weird. Just weird to, why are you doing it and making a person do it all? And I guess because he wanted that. I don't know if somebody knows. I haven't done any research, but I just know that the power ball was hit. But usually by now they'll say, oh, there was a winning ticket sold in whatever state. But I haven't heard anything. But. When I was driving in this morning, there's a, well, there's multiple places that have the little lottery display. You can see it from, you know, driving out. I looked over, and the power ball was down to 20 million. Oh, boy. And it was a billion yesterday. Wow. Good for somebody. Did you hear that the Lakers? Yeah. Are being purchased? They were just purchased like a year ago. Yeah. Yeah. Like $12 billion. It'll be the, it'll be, if it goes through, it'll be the most franchise in the history of sports. It'll be the most expensive franchise at any sport ever. 12 billion, 12 and a half billion. I don't believe you. Well, my source is NPR. Well, then I really don't believe you. Hey! For, well, the Lakers are, that's probably the, other than the Celtics, probably the most, you know, for basketball, but that's, he bought it for 10 billion, the guy, and he's selling it for 12.5 billion to the guys. And, you know, Kirshner or whatever's name is. And they said. And Iger, right? Bob Iger. They said it will be. You look it up. Quote me. That might be right. Oh, one ticket in Illinois. Damn it. We need more Washington winners or Idaho.
Actually, Idaho is the place to win it, you know, because they have the rules where you don't have to, you can be secret, you can be anonymous. The other day I was listening to a quiz show on NPR, and there was a lady from, she was on, she was doing a quiz, and she was a kindergarten teacher. And then she had to answer. And then she said, is it Illinois? And I thought, you're. They pronounce the ass. Yeah. And the announcer goes, oh, well, Illinois was a good guess, but it's not. And I thought she's forming the brains of our children. Maybe she was thinking of a capital in Iowa, Des Moise. Des Moines. Maybe. Is it Illinois? Yeah, she just checked her powerball ticket. It wasn't. Wasn't her. Oh, she was shocked. She was certain she was going to win. Yeah. Boy, look at all the people that know that. Oh, my gosh. Well, Bobby D. April, Kelly, Adam, Christy, Linda, Shea. They all, they all knew that it was Illinois. Yeah. Don't you mean Illinois? Illinois. Illinois. Was it Illinois's? I think the announcer was even like. What'd you say you did for a living again? Teacher. Anything with a teacher in it feels like you should be able to pronounce all the states. Oh, you can't claim it anonymously anymore in Idaho. Really? That's what Kelly says. Oh, they've changed the rules then. Anything over $600 public record. And Bobby says there were four that matched the five numbers for a million, Arizona, California, Florida, North Carolina, and then Illinois. And then somebody hit the whole thing. Man. Wouldn't that be nice? Pretty good. Well, now it's only 20 million. Well, it's not worth getting out of bit.
Actually, there's nothing that's really that big out there right now. Our state lottery is nothing. The hit five is only like 110,000. So maybe it's time to sit down, sit out for a while. Let the Yehu's build up the numbers and then we pounce. Then we go in and get the big money. That's right. Maybe that's what we do. I built up a couple of the machines yesterday. You know, there's this, with some of the machines, there's, you're filling a pot or you're getting the drum to light up, whatever it is. When you're adding to that and then you hit your threshold and you're like, no, I can't go any further with this machine. You know you leave it primed. And then the trick is to get out of the whole neighborhood. You don't want to know. Don't stay in the neighborhood. Because you will be so sad if somebody comes and hits it. And I was playing the other day. And, oh, I sat next to this guy. He was great. He's like, yeah, I won a bunch of money last night of feeling good. And we were both going to the roosters. And he was, I said, oh, are you going here? And he said, yeah. And the rooster, there's a trick where when the sun gets to a certain place or whatever, you know it's getting ready to pop. Well, I said, no, you know what? I said, go ahead. I'll go to this one. He said, are you sure? He said, yeah, because mine wasn't as far over. Well, I hit it first. did really well. And he goes, dang it. And I said, this is the gift of me. I said, look at that happens when you're nice. And we were joking. He was really nice guy. But so he leaves this one machine and he's like, oh, wait, watch. This lady's going to make it pop. He goes over here, sure enough. Like four spins in. She makes it pop. I don't think it was huge. But mine was big. Like I won all of my money back for the day on just that go around. And. Ryan C. Crest here. Every great barbecue has one secret ingredient. Patience. You do a little and you'll wait a little. And while your dinner does it sting, you got a few minutes to yourself, right? Well, kick back with a little Chumba Casino. A flip and a spin. Who knows? Maybe even a login bonus. It is the perfect recipe. Chumba Casino. Always good to have you back. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law. CTs and Cs 21 plus sponsored by Chumba Casino. That's the thing sometimes. And when you're playing with a friend and you say, okay, which one do you want? Which one do you want? You sit down and sometimes you prime the pump for somebody else. I don't know. I'm delirious today. But you're doing great. Yeah? Everything's fine. Hey, he brought in breakfast. And we are on YouTube. So for the people who say no, I say yes. And then back to the whole name thing. There's D&D. Steve wants to know how many steves we have. Well, I can tell you. There's two Christies, my daughter, Christy, and then Christy Kronkite, they spell their name in exactly the same way. Oh, yeah. And then there's other Christies that spell different.
Yeah. John Margot's. I can look it up right here because of. Debbie, there's a few Debs and Debbie's. We have D&D Steve, Steve from Ontario, and then another Steve, Steve Berklin. Hmm. What was this? That Steve Berklin worked on your old house. We haven't heard from him since February of 2025. What'd you do? My house? He says, worked on Dave's old house after a fire years ago. Did you have a fire at your house? Also, saw him at clinks every Valentine's Day. Never watched a single game of football? I don't know. All right. So there's your answer, Steve. There's three of you. And what is my relationship to Robert? Oh, he, I get it now. He's your uncle. Okay. Yes. Um. Let's see. Two times a year I cash. Okay. Oh. He says I buy a lottery. Steve says I buy a lottery each week, one play and each drawing for that week. Two times a year I cashed them in. I just got a $309 payout at the beginning of July. So you're the Yahoo who's standing there cashing all your stuff in. Come on now. That seems like you need to make an appointment or go to the lottery office or something. But when you go to Rosars right in the middle of rush hour, it's like, dude. And they've changed that. It used to be if you were under 600, you could get cash from the store where you bought it. Yeah. Well, now it's anything over 500. And they do mean 500. If you have a $505 ticket, you have to physically go to the lottery office in the mall. Yeah. And then, you know, you've got to fill out a thing. But they give you a check. It's, you know, within a couple minutes. I wouldn't know, Dave. What a, what a good problem to have. Yeah. Being a lottery winner and all. Now, we'll get to the news of the day here in just a bit. Some very exciting things, including the topic that was on KHQ this morning about the regrets and sadness for people that didn't get away this summer. Summer is running out. But. There's also still time. We'll explain the shocking details. Even though the kids aren't going to be, the kids would be back in school, I was telling the kids that. There's still plenty of time for camping on the weekends. The weather will be good for another two months. Yeah. So I think so. It's just that they have to go back to school. So we have that. We also have a real science involved here. Why mosquitoes like some people more than others. Okay. Got it right here. And we need to know and we're the people that need to tell the people that need to know. Yes. It's right here. Got it right here. Science. Yeah, science. And then we present to you the best college towns in America. Okay. As a lot of the. colleges are getting ready to start. There was a school that started yesterday. Like the East Valley, I was at Nadine's gym. And one of the people that there was, oh, my daughter, she just started school today. And they do like year round. So they only have like a six week summer. But their first day of school was literally yesterday. Wednesday? Yeah. How kind of day is that to start school? Well, a lot of times they do it. You know, they ease you into it. That's true. Remember that?
Yeah. But anyway, the best college towns in America. All right. And we can give reports on some of them. Okay. What America says. All right. So those are a few of the things that we'll get to today. We will also need someone to play the showdown. Yeah, I think we have somebody. Oh, we had somebody for today? Brian. Oh, yes. Yes, that's right. And then we left it down. And then tomorrow will be a freaky Friday round. Yes. And we've got a player for that. And then later in the show today, about 9 o'clock or so, our friend Eddie's going to be on. And he used to work with us when we would do our golf tournament. And he still. Will, we'll bring up again, but he's got a putting competition, $10,000 in prizes. Oh. And it's just putting. Like all you need to do is putt. And it's going to be a fun day in Liberty Lake. And it's a wide open deal. It's not like, oh, it starts at 1 o'clock. You've got to be there at 1 o'clock. It's like from 9 to. six, and any time in that window, you can show up and compete for prizes. Sounds like fun. It does sound, it's pretty cool. And you probably don't even have to be a golfer necessarily to be in the putting contest, right? Correct. Yeah, you can be anybody. I mean, if you're not, did they, I bet they've got to be really lucky then. Well, you got to make, you got to make some pots. It's doable. It's a lot different than trying to hit a ball with a golf club, though. Everybody can make contact. Oh, on a pot? Yeah. It's different than, oh, let's just squat and swing. Yeah. I think I might be doing something tomorrow with Sam's tournament where I'm in a chipping contest. Or maybe that's thought. I don't know. Something about chipping. Okay. I don't know. I think I have my clubs in my car. I think I do. Yeah, it'll be fun. Okay. All right, those are a few of the things that we're going to get to today. It's go time, everybody. It's Thursday. We like Thursday. We've always liked Thursday. You like Thursday? I like Thursday. No problem with Thursday. Who has a problem with Thursday? A little hyped up today. Got a lot of energy coming from over here today. All right. We're back after a break. Thanks for being with us.

Winning in a minute answer 10. Dave comes in and answers them again. If your score is inferior, then Dave will reign superior. It's time to play around. Dave's Cash Showdown. All right, let's play the showdown and one of our all-time favorite contestants is going to play. Brian is here. Listener number one. Our first listener number one. Yes. It all started with him. If it wasn't for Brian, we wouldn't have any listeners. That's right. He started at all. That's the first one. Who was listener number one on the old? That was Zane Miller. That's right. I haven't heard from Zane. Yeah. Bring a... And what was your number on the old situation? I think I was listening to 104. And then I got a second number, like 34 or something. Okay. That's right. We let people... 104 in the old... Yeah. 104 still. That's early days. I thought you were 106. Yes, you're right. 106. That's what I thought. Because you guys had the first 100 or 200 memorized. Was it 100? First 100. 100 that you would do every day. I know. And it was like, I don't know why it took us weeks to figure this out, but people, you know, it was radio. Yeah. And Ken and I were be reciting the, and people just said, well, what's to stop you from just reading it off the thing? We would never know. It's like, damn it. It's like, but we didn't. That was a 100% honest deal where we would. Every day we'd add a new person, we had to go through all of the other ones. It was quite entertaining, too. And there used to be a pre-recorded thing where there'd be a claim to fame, and then you would just insert. So by the end of the segment, it was Pete, our friend Pete Hegseth had a big voice thing, and it would say, Brian, number one, famous for blah, blah, blah. That's pretty good. Pretty good bit. Well, thank you for being our number one listener, Brian. And just rough guess. We'll do percentages. What is the percentage of wins and losses playing this game? Well, since we've been on your new show, at least this year, we are one, one, and two. Okay. Oh, we have two ties? One, one and two. Okay. The last few guys we've played, we tied. Okay. One, one. So you've played four total times in the last two years. I'm discounted in 2026. Oh, okay, that's last year. I was going to say. It seems like you played more than that. Yeah. Okay. Are you all, so you're on the- In 2025, I don't remember. I know I won at least once, and I think he won a couple of times. Yeah, he's on the plaque. He has a better winning percentage. Okay. All right.
All right, now my next question is for Molly. Yes. Money question today. Will there be one? If so, how much money at stake? $2 at number two. Two at two. Okay, easy to remember. Do it too. And you got a show question as well? I do. Brian, have you heard the whole show this morning? You started at six with us? I've listened to, yeah, pretty much since you guys have been on. Maybe the first few minutes I missed, but I've been listening attentively since. Okay. I hope I remember it. Okay. We'll see. All right. We'll leave the studio. Good luck, Brian. Good luck to you as well, Dave. Now, Brian, did you see any of the meteor showers last night or anything? I know you like the space stuff. You know, I went out and looked over where I'm at last night. Yeah. And around 11 o'clock, it was cloudy. Yes. I did not see any media shower. Is that crazy the one day that it was been like actual cloud cover? Because the smoke, we still could have seen it through the smoke. But with the clouds, there's a bummer. I haven't really seen any eclipse video either, but it was supposed to be pretty spectacular. I watched it live on CNN. Yeah. Watch that yesterday. All the different. points of view of the different countries that were. Yeah. That had covered. Yeah. Pretty cool. I know my boyfriend and his friend went to the one that was in Oregon a few years back. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I remember that. Yeah. I was here with my telescope, but it wasn't quite 100% here. Yeah. I was out on the deck of the old place with the glasses on. All right, Brian. Enough chit-chat. Are you ready to throw down on the showdown? Let's do it up special, Molly. All right, here we go. Who did Bruno Mars start his singing career as a child by impersonating? Michael Jackson. Here's your $2 question. What is the Oscar statuette holding in its hands? A microphone. Which president was the first to be sworn in by his nickname? Ooh.
Um, I don't, I'll say, uh, Lincoln. Oh, right. Hawaii is comprised of how many Maine islands? Ooh, good question. Um, I'll say four. Trinidad and Tobago is part of which continent? Oh, ooh. I'm gonna say North America. How many pounds are in a ton? 2000. What food chain introduced the drive-thru window? Hmm. How do you try to go to the August and say McDonald's? Which river flows directly through downtown Spokane featuring a stunning series of waterfalls? Yeah. Ooh, that's good. Um, uh, Columbia? If someone says they visited the Big Easy, where would they have visited? New Orleans. And the show question today, what drink did Molly say she hoped Kevin Parker would bring her tomorrow? A mocha. Ice mocha. Very good. Okay. Dave is waiting to come back in. And we have your totals. And, uh-huh. My money is safe.
See, this is the, now that we're on camera, too, it's like, yes, you leave the studio, but some people would say, how did we know he was leaving the studio all those times? But he did. Oh, I leave all right. Yeah, that's the other thing. Sometimes he forgets to come back and he gets distracted. And then you start going, hello. Dave, hello. We're still doing a program. Yeah, hello. So he did not win $2, but did he get the show questioned? Yes. He was paying attention. Oh, good one, Brian. Okay. And in general, how did you do? I think I did okay. Okay. All right, we'll see what happens. My turn to play. Ten questions to me. Here we go. Who did Bruno Mars start his singing career as a child by impersonating? Elvis Presley. What is the Oscar statuette holding in its hands for $2? Uh, it is a script. Which president was the first to be sworn in by his nickname? Ooh. Uh, Reagan? Hawaii is comprised of how many Maine islands? Six. Trinidad and Tobago are part of which, or is part of which continent? Uh, Africa. How many pounds are in a ton? 2000. Which vast food chain introduced the drive-thru window? Um, Burger King. Which river flows directly through downtown Spokane, featuring a stunning series of waterfalls? Uh, the Spokane River. If someone says they visited the Big Easy, where did they go? Uh, New Orleans. And... This show question, and it will be for the win. Spoiler alert. What drink did Molly say she hoped that Kevin Parker would bring her tomorrow? Oh, no. You asked this question like you were going to make a note of it, almost like you were going to repeat it to Kevin Parker. A mocha. More specifically? What kind of mocha? An iced mocha. Oh, I don't know. Do we have to yes? Yes, we do. Brian, that is, by the skin of your teeth, man. That would have been bad on so many levels. Okay, final score. Dave wins five to four. Thank you, Brian. Oh, there were some toughies in there all right. Man, man. And for the record, when you were talking about that, I more remember the drink that you didn't want him to bring. Oh, I see. And that was the London fog. London fog, yes. Yes. Anyway, but I did get, I've remembered. All right. Well, good, good. Okay, let's learn. So, we'll start with Elvis, very good, Elvis. He gets Michael Jackson, which is a good guess. And in the movie, Honeymoon in Vegas, little Bruno Mars as a four-year-old is in the movie, and he's doing a thing. It's classic. But he's listed under Bruno Hernandez in the credits. Before he changed his name to Mars. Yeah, yeah.
Ryan C. Crest here. Every great barbecue has one secret ingredient. Patience. You do a little and you wait a little. And while your dinner does its thing, you got a few minutes to yourself, right? Well, kick back with a little Chumba Casino. A flip and a spin. Who knows? Maybe even a login bonus. It is the perfect recipe. Chumba Casino. Always good to have you back. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law. CTs and Cs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. That's one of those movies that you cannot find. That is true. I have the DVD, though, and it's one of my all-time favorites. It's my top 10 of all time. The statue is holding, I'm not seeing anything from the text line, so I'm just going to go ahead and give the answers away. It's a sword. Oh. Oh. I would have never got that. I think microphone's closer. Yeah, closer than script. I was thinking I thought there were hands in front like it was a script or something. Well, I'm going to look at the statue. Very good question. Oscar statue. Let's see. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He's holding a sword. Why would they need a sword? To fight off danger? Yeah. As actors do? I don't know. This doesn't look. Anyway, so that's what the answer was. And then Jimmy Carter was the first president to be sworn in by his nickname. This says there are eight main islands. I'm looking it up by counting seven. It's... Hawaii, Maui, Wahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, and then Nihah and Kala, they're two, which would make it eight, but they're forbidden. Well, one of them is just, it was like a bomb site, or like the army owned it. It's the one you can see from Kauai, yes. If you go out to see the sunset, I believe, right? Yes. Yes. I know I've seen it. No, more than four. Okay. Yeah, more than six. And then Trinidad and Tobago are part of North America. Brian got that. You both got the 2,000 pounds. Wendy's introduced the drive-thru. Oh. Tricky question. Yeah, sure was. Mm-hmm. Then Dave got the Spokane River goes right through Spokane. It is a tributary of, tributary, is that the right word? Of the Columbia, which is what Brian said, but. Specifically, it's the Spokane River. You both got the big easy for Norlands. And Brian easily answered the question in iced mocha. Dave struggled with it, even though he asked me the question. It wasn't even something that I was like just spewing on about. You asked me a direct question. But in my defense, you spew on about a lot of things. So it's hard to get them all. Hard to sift through the crap. Find out what's really important. So there you go, five to four.
A spirited round. Yes. Yes. Brian, you sounded great. You played well. What do we have for Brian for playing the game? Congratulations from our friends in America Credit Union, proud sponsor of Dave's Cash Showdown. America Credit Union, they were the credit union that helped make the Spokane River come through Spokane. Yeah, it's true. In fact, when the Spokane River was formed during the glacier period, you know, thousands and thousands of years ago, it wasn't even in North America. And then it was Numerica that said, hey, we're Numerica. Let's have the Spokane River go through America, more specifically Spokane. So they had all their people, and they were digging trenches. And so they moved the water, and then the water came right through the downtown area. And they said, this we proudly call the River Numerica. And then the city officials in Spokane said, wait a second, New America. We love you guys. You're doing great things for all of us. But let's make it the Spokane River going through Spokane. So they had several meetings about it. In fact, one of the meetings they talked about, they ordered all of their drinks, and one of them ordered an ice boca. Anywho, long story short. Would that great? Oh, Brian. Sorry if you missed an important appointment by sticking around this long. New America Credit Union, and Numerica and Dutch Bros teaming up tomorrow. For a day of giving. I will be there. Oh, thank you, Brian. A dollar from every drink. Golf tournament. Oh, yeah, you're playing tomorrow. Are you playing tomorrow? You're going to see Sam and you might see Molly, too, right? I will be looking for. Yes. Yes. Well, yeah, I'll be there at some point. Midday. I'm not sure exactly when, but. I'm doing some kind of chipping something or other, I don't know, something. Yeah, right there at the top there, they do that chipping contest thing. Oh, good. Oh, I know what you're doing. Yeah. You'll just be handling it. People will be trying to chip, and they probably have a stand-up cutout of Sam. And if you can hit him with a chip, you win a prize. So I don't have to chip my stuff. You're not chipping. You're just going to help coordinate. Well, why did he say I was doing a chipping contest to bring my club? Oh, he said to do that? Thanks. Well, maybe he wants you to test it out. I don't trust anything he says now. I don't know. Anyway, five recups of Dutch love from spoken as Dutch Bros. Do we say that already? Dash Bros. Dutch Bros. And thank you. You can see a new picture of it. Thank you for every, okay, I will. And thank you for everything that you've been doing during the fires. I know you've had long shifts trying to keep people safe and out of neighborhoods and stuff. So thank you for all your doing, Brian. Thanks, Brian. Yeah. Thank you guys. You're a good man. You guys are awesome. You are. Have a good day. We'll see you tomorrow. Absolutely. Okay. All right. We'll play the showdown again tomorrow. And tomorrow is Friday. Molly has deemed it Freaky Friday. I will have 10 questions. Molly will be in the hot seat. Oh, yeah. And you're going to be playing listener number 50, Molly. Uh-huh. And it's her son getting ready for their big birthday celebration. So I think it's going to be two against one. So here's what I want. I can't beat her and Sawyer. So they're both. Soir goes to Whitworth.
Hello? Andy was raised on. But you have a certificate from a major college that we learned about earlier. It's the same as winning an award of Best. So here's what I want. You never hung up with Brian. Oh, wait. Hang on, Brian. We're going to leave you alone now, Brian. We're going to let you go. Bye guys. Bye. It's kind of like when I won the award of Best Actress working primarily locally. Yeah. I can borrow those. See, it's good, isn't it? It makes you feel like a winner. Before that, though, I was an on to roll athlete at a junior college. Okay. I had all A's and one B. What did you get the B in? Health. Oh. The only real class I had, the rest were all physical activities. I was a jock. That's all I did. And I liked it. And you turned out fine. Uh-huh. Everything is fine. Everything is fine. Yes. All right. So tomorrow will be super fun. That'll be the freaky Friday round. Yeah. And then no show on Monday. Right. So you're going to have to get your showdown fix. Tomorrow. Carry it through the weekend. All right, we'll get to the entertainment news here in just a bit, including 90s songs that still hold up today. Oh, okay. Entertainment news, yeah. And then we have Travis Kelsey, in his own words, talking about his wedding night with Taylor Swift. Oh, boy. Yeah, and he goes into great detail. Does he cry? No. Good. I'd rather have him be raunchy. We don't need any tears out of the big guy. And then we have the kids' favorite characters. There's been a shift. These are like for little kids. Okay. Yeah. So the preview, it might be a spoiler alert, but the preview for the Paw Patrol Dino movie. Oh, going to be good? I think so, but I don't have anybody to take now. The girls, they're all too old for it. I like the Paw Patrol. Well, the Paw Patrol audience is kind of that group that they're talking for them to name their favorite character. So that's why that makes sense. Yeah. All right, we'll have that and more as we continue. And then at 9 o'clock, our friend Eddie's going to join us. There's a major putting tournament. I say major, $10,000 in cash prizes. Oh. And then there's gift cards and other prizes. And that we will be able to give away an entry into this thing. Oh, good? Yeah. Okay. Super cool. It's at Liberty Lake on Saturday, but he'll have all the details. And I think it's the first of its kind. in the in the in the spokane area love it yeah uh that and more as we continue this is the David Jolly show from the numerica studio we now return to the dave and molly show
Ready to put a little spin on your day? Then check out Chumba Casino's new online social casino game, Ryan Seacrest 10K Ways. It's free and packed with 10,000 ways to play. Only at Chamba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, Voidware Prohibited by Law. CTs and Cs 21 Plus. Sponsored by Chumpa Casino. Hey, just like that, we're back. Welcome in one and all. The David and Molly Show continues. We'll have our hot topic segment coming up here in a little bit. But first, speaking of a hot topic, this is a big event coming up. Yeah, this is a very hot topic. And I'm learning all about it. Our friend Eddie is on the phone with us. Are you there, Eddie? Yes, I am. How are you guys doing? Very good. Tell everybody about, and I love the name. It is the 2026 Inland Empire. Pudding tournament. Yeah. $10,000 in cash and prizes. Fun. That is a great headline. So tell her, tell me, tell us what you told me when I was driving the other day and you were explaining this whole thing because you were very enthusiastic about it. Well, you know, putting is a game within a game, and literally you don't have to be a great golfer to be a great putter. And years ago, I used to put on these large putting tournaments, and the Liberty Lake golf courses have some trouble with their driving range, so they've only got a putting green. And through conversation with the pro, we decided to have a big putting event. And the format is 23 holes. Everybody will put 23 holes. And then there'll be two additional lag putts. The lag putts break all the ties. So it's very short but sweet. You'll be able to play an entire round in about 45 minutes to an hour. And it's exciting. It really feels like you're in a golf tournament the entire time because you just constantly... under pressure to make a put or putt well. And it's not only great for your game, but it's just really fun. When you get off the course or get off the round, you'll really just, you'll be excited about the way your body felt. You know, you get the adrenaline going. So how does it work when, let's say I show up, I'm just some yahoo, and I say, hey, I have $25 I want to play in the social round. Here's, I have my putter, but that's all I have. Do you need your own ball? Do you need your own putter? And then do you, who keeps score for you or do you do it yourself? Oh, that's a very good question. Thank you. Yeah, we, we carry you in the seasons. So you exchange cards. You'll be keeping scoring for somebody in your group and vice versa. We do have balls and putters. Fish putters is one of the sponsors. So we have balls and putters if you don't have the equipment. But most people are going to bring their own putter and they'll have their preference of ball. You're going to put, like I said, 23 holes. The holes were ranged from 5 feet to 35 feet. And then the lag putts will be a little bit longer. But we measure those putts to, again, break the ties.
But yeah, you can show up. It's best if you register online so we can get a window of time that you feel that you want to play. You can put any time between 9 o'clock to 6 o'clock. And then after the event, Black Pearl, who's one of the sponsors, will be hosting some free ad derbs and such for all the players and having some prizes and stuff to raffle there as well. After the long, grueling round. Yes. That's it. What is, what is par for? These 23 holes. Par 46. Yeah, even though some of the holes are shorter, some of them will be, you know, five, six, seven feet and some of them be longer. And what I've found in past tournaments years ago is par is a really good score. You know, there'll be some punch that really are challenging where a two putt will be good. And there'll be some putts that you should make. But par is a good score. You know, we pay a third of the field. We have lots of prizes and stuff for every division. Cash division is cash, but, yeah, we have lots of different things for the different divisions, and the greens are in great shape. Yeah. We're going to be using the putting green and the chipping green over at Liberty Lake, and I don't know if you've played there much, but their greens are really good. They've done a great job on getting the course ready, and it'll be intense. It'll be fun, and somebody's going to walk away with $2,000. And all in all, there's over $10,000 in cash and prizes. And I know that like the big division, the 125, the cash division, as you call it. That one is the one. If you win that, that's two grand. Cash, real cash, money. That's for professional. Yeah. If you've got to be really good. Yeah. But there's also, there's other smaller entry fees where there's lots of gift cards. You guys have got a tremendous amount of gift cards and sponsors. So you show up for this thing. You're going to have fun. And you're going to probably leave with something. Fair? That's it. And you don't, that's fair. That is very fair. And you don't have to be a professional golfer to put for the cash. You know, there are some, some. new rules, I guess, especially with NIL and things that have happened with college sports that what they declare an amateur is all should have been changed a little bit. And because this is just a skills competition, it's not an actual professional tournament. It's just a skills competition. Anybody's eligible to put for the cash. It's not a, but some people choose that they'd rather just quite as. Yeah. Go ahead. Oh, sorry. But so if you want to pay the 125.
you put yourself in the professional category even though you're not actually a professional. Correct. That's why we say putting for cash. And $75. I know there's lots of players out there that are great putters that aren't necessarily professionals, but I've been around several of them that are actually putting in this tournament that I think they have a hell of a chance. Hey, here's a question for you, asking for a friend. What if someone shows up and they play, and it didn't go as well as they thought. Can they re-enter knowing where all, you know, knowing the holes a little bit better for a, for a second round? Or are you limited to just one round? Your first round is the score that will count towards a tournament. We used to do like a secondary honeypot because guys do love to sit around there and put and putt again and putt again. That would be like a cash buy-in. We haven't really worked that through for this particular one, but probably in the future we'll do that. That probably makes it more fair, though. Yeah, yeah, you only get one shot at it in terms of for the cash or for your division or whatever division you're in. But we do have a practice round tomorrow. Anybody that's in the tournament can put between one and five get a pretty good feel for where the holes are going to be. We'll move the T's around just a little bit, and the greens will probably be a little bit quicker the day of the tournament. But you'll get a good idea of the type of putt you're going to be on. How many people do you think will play total? We are, I believe, close to 90 players registered so far. And, you know, we're making a big push to get some others in there. And it's growing. It's growing. People are starting to understand that this will be fun. It's easy. You know, it's a good way to. A good way to really work on your game and work on your mental game. It makes a focus for a lot longer than you're normally used to. There's no break in between like golf. When you hit a shot, you got a break for a few minutes before you have to hit your next shot. Where this is just, it's constantly in your face. You're constantly having to focus on the next. the shot in front of you, which is what really golf, the essence of golf is about. And I love the fact that it's a, it's basically an all day thing, but you pick the, you know, the hour that works for you basically. It's like, oh, well, I got something going on, you know, Saturday we're going to a barbecue or whatever. I'll go early. Or, uh, in, in my case, I have a golf tournament in the morning. So I could go out there in the afternoon. And in less than an hour, you're done. You know how you did. And then what about that? So later do, like if somebody plays, let's say they go at 10 and then they want to come back later for your food and stuff like that. Is that when they find out if they've won or how does it work?
Yep, yep, and we're going to pay the cash division right there at the Black Pearl Inn Cash. And then, you know, we'll have also other stuff to raffle off. And anybody's welcome to come and collect, yeah, the night of. So it's an immediate reward if you play well. And it is. That is a great thing about it. You can show up any time during the day, get your round in, post the score. And, you know, some people like to sit there and scoreboard watch all day and others just playing the morning. They come back in the afternoon or like you said, they have to go to work or whatever they need to do. But it is a, that is a real convenient thing about it. Mostly tournaments are all-day affairs where this is the opposite. And you said earlier for the cash division, a third of the field is going to make money. Or get some money back, I guess, as you used to say, yeah. Correct. Exactly. Well, that's pretty good. That is really good. So for people to go, it's putting champions with an S, or no, putting championships with an S.com. Yeah, putting championships.com. Yeah, putting championships.com. Okay. We'll put this flyer up on our face. And we plan on having some events next year as well. We hope to have three or four next year. as this starts to take off. Yeah. Very cool. Well, I love that you're doing this. And I do think, as you said the other day, it was like, this is like kind of, it's a cool thing for what people want. And it may be like a mini, you know, glimpse into the future of what golf can be for certain people. When you can show up, be in a real tournament in less than an hour, still have fun, still get the, You know, the adrenaline going a little bit away, they've got to make this, and there's money on the line. That's very, it's very, that's super fun. Yeah. That's it. That's it. The nerves, the nerves kick in right away. Oh, yes. You're spot on. Your, your, your nerves kick in. And, and it's, it's good. It's really, it really does feel like you played in a tournament when you're done, like a complete 18-hole event. And you claim that you want one of our listeners and viewers to join? Yes. Okay. We got some sponsors and some of our sponsors haven't been able to fill all the spots because the sponsors get a couple entries. So we do have an entry. Okay. And it would be $125 entry that would be totally free. They have basically a free roll at $2,000. And I don't know if you want to. pose a golf question or something out there for somebody to call in. But however you want to do that, you guys have the carte Todd Blanche on. Okay. Well, we'll figure that out during the break, right? Yeah, and we'll put an all call out for our listeners. And the only thing I would say to them, we can do this in the next segment is it's got to be, you've got to. take advantage of this. Don't try to win it and say, oh, I've got this. And then I'm not sure if I'm going to make it. You got to, this is a, it's a one day only situation. It's tomorrow, Liberty Lake Golf Course, anytime between nine. Oh, I'm sorry, Saturday, Saturday. Tomorrow is the practice round. If they, anytime they want to come out there between one and about five or six, and then, yeah, Saturday. And then, and then no cost for the practice round, right? You just, you just show up and test it out.
Yeah, no cost for the practice round. We are going to have a little $10 skin game. If somebody wants to, that's optional, they want to pay $10 and maybe win a skin. It kind of makes it fun. Yeah. But, yeah, that's an optional thing. But definitely I encourage those that are participating to, they can get out there and get kind of a sneak peek of the course. And. It'll be helpful for those people that are in the tournament for sure. Okay. And for those of us, for those of our listeners that have been with us for a long time. Tyler Redick here from 2311 Racing. The rush of racing, nothing beats it. But Chumba Casino comes close. Chumba's got fast spins, fun games, daily bonuses, and all the action you can handle. Now that's a run. Ready to hit the throttle, get in the driver's seat, and head to chumbacasino.com. Let's Chumba. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law, 21 plus, terms and conditions apply. Eddie was the guy that was when we would do our golf tournament at the resort. He would always be set up on number 11. And if you hit his clubs, then you got to put for a double eagle down there. And it was kind of a thing. And then the money raised for that, that was a part of a prize too. Right. So I love that you're in the golf world and you've got all these different things going on. It's super fun. Yeah, and a portion of the proceeds go, they benefit meals on wheels. We've been a big supporter of meals on wheels through the Cotton Classic and some other events. And we're really, we're really, really happy partner up with them for this type of thing. Okay. Love that. Well, I'll probably see it, the Cotton Classic. Yes, I'll be there. Okay. Okay. It's an annual deal for sure. All right. I'll see you Saturday. Hopefully, yeah. I'm still working. I got a tournament and then we may hit the road. I'm not sure. I would, you know. But it's going to, I think it's a great event for people. The people should do this. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, we'll figure out how people are going to win. Maybe we can follow up next week and I can let you know the results. Yeah. All those other things. But those will be also posted on, you know, putting championships.com as well. But yeah, we can do some follow up because there is a ladies division. There is a junior division that, you know, that's kind of, they get a chance to double dip, basically. And, um, Again, it would be a lot of fun. I love it. Yep. Now, when you say ladies division with putting, aren't we all kind of on the same playing field? I mean, like, do the guys and girls, is it totally? We are.
They're competing against the men and the women, but we like to give them their own little division as well with some donated prizes. We got massages and different things that would be for the ladies' separate division. It's not, but yeah, they have a chance to capitalize on that. But for the main division, there's no, it's all, it's everybody, and it's all from the same spot. It's not like regular golf where the lady has a lady, too. Everybody putt from the same spot. Yeah, there's no separate tee box. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They all put from the same place, yeah. Because I think that that's the one spot where everything is equal once you get on the putting green. There's no advantage to being. But it's nice that the ladies still get their extra little fun thing. Because we're just girls, you guys. We need to put for massages. I like that. But you're eligible for the two grand. Yes, yes. Yes, you are. And a third of the field is getting money. Yeah. That's, you don't see that anywhere. No. That's awesome. Okay. Thank you. Yeah, it's going to be exciting. All right, Eddie. Good to talk to you. And then I'll text you. We'll get our winner here on the air. And then I'll text you who they are. And then you'll see them on Saturday. That sounds great. All right. I really appreciate it. You bet. Thank you. You guys have a great day. You too. Take care. All right. Bye-bye. I think that's something. I think that could be. It's like the Savannah bananas for a baseball. It's like this could be the future. It's like, well, you know, you're playing a golf tournament. It's going to be a six-hour thing. Yeah. Well, what if there was a tournament and it was skill-based? Yes. But it only takes less than an hour. I like it. Oh. Who has all that time for those long tournaments? That's my kind of thing. I got an hour. Let's do this. Okay. What if we do this? What if we, and again, you have to be wanting to do this. Don't be like, oh, I've never played golf, but I want to try this. If you want to do it, we'll take everyone from, we're going to go to break, everyone during the break that texts in the word golf. And don't text anything after that. Just the word golf. There's no, it's not a key. You're not going to get anything back. You're just going to text it in, but don't. text golf and then please and then because we need to see everybody who texts in the word golf. And then we'll put it in the randomizer thing and then we'll have a winner that way. And it's a free entry into the thing, $125 value. You pay nothing, but you could win two grand. Yeah. And if you're better than... you know, two-thirds of the field, you're going to get some cash. Yeah. Pretty good. Okay. Yep. All right. Back after a break, we'll announce our winner for that, and we'll have our Hot Topics. When we return, this is the Dave and Molly Show. Hot Topics. Brought to you by Clark's Tire and Automotive Center.
All right, we're going to jump into our hot topics. Before we do that, though, we will announce the winner of our golf tournament entry contest. We put them all in, the randomizer shook them up, spun them around. Spit out a name. Okay. We got six, seven, ten. Ten, at least ten. At least ten. I'm waiting and we're calling it. We're stopping it. We're waving it off. No more entries. Nothing more to see here, people. Randomizing. Put it in the machine. The winner is. Are you ready? Yes. Number one ninety three, Curtis. One ninety three, Curtis. Curtis, you win. And we want you to represent us well. And I wish we had like a David Jolly shirt we could give him to wear. Oh, I see. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's the winner. Yes. But I wish we could give you something to wear. Well, make us proud, Curtis. You got a chance to win some big money. We will text you information. Yes. And I will text his information to Eddie. Yeah. And then any time that you want to play tomorrow for the... Well, no, tomorrow's the practice. I mean, I know. I keep saying that. I keep thinking of today's practice. But you can go. Once you get registered, you can go practice tomorrow. And then Saturday, you lock in your time. And then you can go back for free food later on. Yeah. That would be fun. Yeah. Hopefully you do well. It's the putting championship. Yes. Of the civilized world or more specific, the inland empire. Liberty Lake. Liberty Lake. Well, it's the inland empire. Oh, yes, empire. And make sure you get your pretty person pass before you enter Liberty Lake. That will come with it, actually. We'll give you the permit. It's a day pass. Yes. Oh, he's got merch. Okay. Yeah, nice. Okay, Curtis. Represent. Okay. That's fun. I like it. That'll be good. Yeah. All right. Now, Hot Topics. Here's what we can tell you, celebrating his 67th birthday. He grew up right before our very eyes. Little Danny Partridge. Oh, boy. Danny Bonaducci, 67 years old today. Yeah. He rents, rode a motorcycle into a room that you were in. Yes. Made quite an entrance. I used to listen to him when I lived in L.A. He had a talk show. Yeah. It was like an afternoon talk show. I think he actually started in Detroit. Did he? And it was an afternoon deal. Yeah. And then he, you know, the show was legit. I mean, he. Totally legit. It was fun. And then, then did a morning shift in L.A. And then that's when. We were on a panel together, and the other panelists, I think there was four others of us, and I was the little guy. It was like L.A. and all these big people. And then we think, oh, well, this is a pretty good panel. And then, oh, hang on, and our final panelist is, and then all of a sudden, you know, run, run, run. And this motorcycle pull in, and it's Danny Bonaducci. And it's like, Walt, come on. There's the thing about that, Danny.
We are the worst audience for any. If you can make the radio friends laugh, first of all, if they shut up long enough to hear what you're saying, because they're, you know. Nobody's going to be like, oh, my God! Danny Montanucci! Not a motorcycle! Now, if you go to one of those signings, if you go to one of those Comic-Con type things where all the people, not in that room, nobody's going, oh, it was so cool. He showed up on a motorcycle. He's bitching. Nobody. But it was so loud. I bet it was stinky, too. Yeah, I think it was just like the beginning and then he kind of rolled in. But his motorcycle was right next to him on the stage. I don't know. How does that pass through all the things? And then, and I don't have him in the notes here, but he was also in boxing with the stars, right? Wasn't he? Yeah. He beat up somebody. Oh, he beat up Donnie Osmond. Was it? It wasn't one of the Brady's, was it? Because I'm sure that's who they wanted to fight. Oh, maybe he fought Greg Brady. He didn't. Donnie Osmond didn't do that. Did he? I might have. What was it called? Boxing? It was, um... Celebrity boxing, yeah. Okay. And it was on Fox. And remember, uh... What's the ice skater? Tanya Harding. She beat up Darvaconger. What was going on in television in the 90s? Yeah, no. Well, it went from boxing. With the dancing is one thing. No, it was Greg Brady. Oh, he beat up Greg Brady? Yes. I don't know that he beat him up. I think Danny Partridge was the winner. Uh. I think Danny Bonaducci is probably tougher than, I think he's probably tough. Well, that's probably accurate. Greg Brady is just a nicer person. Bonaducci Williams. Bonaducci was introduced by as Danny Boom, Boom, Bonaducci. Oh, my God. And then, hang on a second. He knocking Williams down five times before the tree. So he beat him up. Okay. All right. That's all we need to do. Okay. Jay Jones versus Harding. Yeah. And Jay Jones reportedly took the bout as a late replacement for Amy Fisher. She shoots somebody. She becomes a celebrity. Olga Corbett, Darvaconger. Darvaconger beat up Olga Corbett. Dustin Diamond and Ron Perlillo. That's great. That's Screech and Horshack, fighting it out. Manute Bowl and the refrigerator. That was the one. I remember that one too. And Joey Buttafuoco and Joni China Lauer in the main event. Is that, I don't know. This was all like... What year was that? Celebrity Boxing. 2002 was some of it. I was thinking it was 90s, but... No.
I watched it. Watched it live. It was quite the spectacle. Yeah. Don't you want to see your favorite celebrities in the boxing match? Have a good time. You need a good watch. Yeah. From Rocky. Yeah. No longer with us, but his movies live on, Alfred Hitchcock. This would have been his birthday today. Hey, guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. Play social casino style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbacino.com. No purchase necessary. VigW. Boy, prohibited by law. See, terms of conditions, 21 plus. Good evening. Right? Yep. Birds, Psycho, North by Northwest. Rear window. Rear window. Just to name a few. Mm-hmm. And then here's your $1 question. All right. Okay. No longer with us, passed away many, many years ago, but from the world of film, who is Bert Lauer? L-A-H-R. Bert? Flower. Was he Hercules? Law. No. He was the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz. That's him. Good impression. If I only had courage, right? The lion needed courage. Courage, yes. Scarecard needed a brain, and the tin man needed a heart. If I only had a brain. What is how did Cowardly Lions say it, though? If I only, something, something. I see Sam Adams walking over here. He better not be leaving the state. What's he doing? You coming in here? No? He's going to be right back. Okay. And then, also no longer with us, Dan Fogelberg. Had a few monster hits back in the 70s and 80s. Longer. How does that one go? Sing along. Go ahead. I don't know. Longer than there have been fishes in the ocean. Longer than there have been birds and the trees. Guy. Something. And the forest prime evil. I've been in love with you. What other songs does he sing? Same old angine. These were all top ten hits. And then leader of the band. Leader of the band was a song about his dad. It's a really, really nice song. The leader of the band. No, it's not. No, it's not. And then one of your all-time favorite birthdays, although he passed away about 10 years ago. But the video lives on, this would have been his 100th birthday, Fidel Castro. Oh, dictator humor. It's my favorite. Look at Sam Adams. We just have to address the elephant in the room. Yeah. Here, grab a mic. Can you sit a spell? Oh, okay. For you, I've got one minute. Oh, thanks. Good that. How are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? I'm giving a little love note.
Have you guys talked about our travails? Yes, a little bit. So here is for the mechanic. Oh, look at this. There's money changing here. Thanks, Sam. Sam borrowed the RV. Everything was fine. Everything is fine. And then it wasn't. But you got veins of steel, veins of ice, water in your veins. I didn't realize I did until people said stuff. And then people started saying how heroic my actions were. Who am I to argue? This is classic Sam. We haven't had you all week, so you've been saving up for you. So other than that, how was your experience in the RV? Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? It was fantastic. You liked it. memorable. It was great. It was just what we needed. Good. You know, it's like just just. family and rest and relaxation and nature and clean air like all of the above. And then until a shattered window could have changed everything. But you. Yes, not you. Vacation's over. Hands on the wheel. And you got to. That's why you always stay at 10 and 2. Yeah. If you were just had one little, you know, I just can't believe you didn't go like that when the. I didn't either. And I'm like, it was just so weird. It was just this. And you still don't know what it was. No. I mean, it could have been a rock. It could have been anything. It just kicked up and went right into the window and just like shattered. Wild. But there were, and like, I love there's two schools of thought. I've heard when people hear about it, they're like, oh, man, that's awful. What are the chances? That's, that's, like, you must be cursed. No. And then the other is, yeah, the reaction, like, oh, my gosh, that could have been so awful. It was only a window. And that was it. You were fine. He had to drive four hours with a window down. Like, that was the worst. And in summer weather, it wasn't, you know, it wasn't winter, which I have done. That would have been bad. That's not fun. Yeah, that would have been awful. So I'm counting my blessings. It was great. And on top of that, like, I happen to be wearing. I never wear it. But because it was cool there, I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. So, like, my neck was protected, my long sleeves. So any of the glass that would have, like, come in, like, it. It hit that. And where was your dog when this happened? Was he right near you? Oh, yeah. That's a great question. Because the dog would have freaked out and that would have scared me. He was cool. In fact, I was so focused on the road. I don't even know. All I said, I just kept on saying, I'm okay. Stacy, I'm okay. She's just looking across going, what just happened? Yeah. And I'm like, I don't have time to explain what happened. All I know is there's no window now or there's half a window and it's like falling into our lap and blowing into the cap. How soon was it? I've got to pass this, this semi. How soon was it before you pulled over or how long? Well, that was the wild thing is like you're on a two-lane road going each way, right?
So, like, I'm passing. I think I was doing, like, I think it was a 65 mile an hour zone or 60. Whatever it was, I was at 60. And, and, you know, it's like there's art or there's semis, so you want to pass the semis. Yeah. But there's also cars that are antsy to pass as well. And they're more nimble than the mini Winnie. Yeah. So I'm like, I can't just. Put on the brakes and start slowing down. No, right. There's, there's a semi next to me, a semi behind me, a semi ahead of me. So I've got to now keep going. pass and then find a safe place. There's no shoulder to pull over in that area. No, I know that road. I've always thought that's a dangerous. It's a rough stretch. So I finally found an exit. I'm like, I'm taking this exit and we'll go. And that's when you called Molly? Yeah, when did you call me? That is when I called me. Were you at the exit? Because all I heard was, there's so much glass. Yeah. That's everywhere. Well, at that point, I couldn't move because. I'm like, I don't know what the glass situation is. Stacey, my wife, is out of the car. She's over just kind of like looking, assessing, kind of opening the door. And I'm kind of just like kind of sitting here, almost like being frisked, almost like, I don't know what's going on. And so that's when I called you. Yeah, okay. You were there for that debrief. I just felt like you should know as soon as possible. And then just a question, this comes from the text line, multiple people. Already people asking. Yeah, they're asking. They're saying, will you ever do business with Molly's exploding glass RV company again? Five star would recommend. Five stars out of ten. You thought it was going to be a free trip. You thought. That's okay. Well, thanks for taking care of it. I'm sorry that that happened because I was so hopeful that you were having, like, and I was checking in with you guys and you guys were having a good time. We were having a great time. You look just like Ken when he drives the RV. I don't know if Stacey shared the picture with you, but when she sent the picture of Duke and she even said, dog is my co-pilot. And I always say, dog's my co-pilot. Do you get it? Do you get it? I always say that. I'm sorry, did she say that in the text? She did. She took credit for that. I said that. Oh, I said that. Did you invent that? Well, no. I don't know. But she took credit from B. I mean, I take, I mean, that's a bumper sticker. Yeah. She took that line from me. Well, she didn't take the time ago. Oh, by the way, Sam was hilarious. Guess what he said. Oh, that's true. We always say that. And I have the same picture and Ken with his bald head and facial hair and a dog right there because Mesa is always looking out. She sits there most of the trip. She loves to see what's going on. Well, but when Stacey took the picture, she, I said, is that good? Is that good? And she said,
you're too serious. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, let me get less serious. And I look less serious. And she goes, you're still super serious. I'm like, that's my resting driving face. Leave me a long. I'm behind the wheel of this massive vehicle. I don't, like, for eight hours on the road, I'm in. And it's the first time you, you know. Yeah. Yeah. I got to be ready. Yeah. The one, one, you looked angry, really angry. And this is way before the thing exploded on me. And the other one, you look like you were sleeping. It's like this. Your eyes are completely close. It was mid-blink. So it looks like you're really letting the dog guide you. There were like 90 minutes where I just blacked out. I thought it was cool. I ran into Molly the day that that happened at the casino, of course. Yes. And she had like a, what was that little? red thing that you had. She says, watch, this is my remote exploding glass thing. She said, watch, this will be great. I should be getting a call any minute. Clicked it, and then sure enough, you have the call right after. This was it, Acme, was it? Just like Wiley Coyote. I went, cooge with a plunger. Well, seriously, I'm glad you're okay. That could have been really scary. And it's already done. It's already fixed. And he's giving me this and took him the person. You're good to go. And yeah. And I'll send you his info so you're able to coordinate when you're fine. We'll go get it this afternoon. We'll put all the stuff back in. I'm glad that you. I liked seeing they were in our seats that we, you know, the chairs and the little fire ring. And he's out by the fire and the dogs there. And he's got the. The ring of fire is my happy place. Yes. Was that there at the place where you could put wood in? Yeah. On the coast, they let you do that. Here, around here, they don't do that. But I think something must have happened, though. I think the burn ban must have happened. Like, they, all of a sudden, the next day, no wood was available. Oh. And where my daughter was staying the campsite there, the person there, the ranger, somebody was collecting everybody's firewood. Oh, wow. So I guess, like, it had, like, I got the last. Last boy log in. We only had the one log. Yeah. I understandably, I can understand. Sure. Toleretic here from 2311 racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to Chumba Casino.com. Let's Chamba. No purchase necessary. VTW Group. Void were prohibited by law. CTNCs, 21 Plus. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. And then just real quick, tomorrow. Uh, you will not be in studio. Is that correct? I will not be. I'll be downriver. Yeah. Yeah, 16th annual golf tournament. Uh, this is supporting veterans. We knew it before as a Dan Kleckner classic. So I'll be there tomorrow. I'm seeing. I'll be handing, uh, challenge coins to veterans tomorrow on the 18th green. Uh, all the tradition remains the same. And I'll be down there. And I'll, I'll be live. on the wake-up show to talk a little bit about it before I end up doing my job. Okay. But you're not going to play tomorrow. That's the veterans play tomorrow. And then what time do I come tomorrow? Anytime. Anytime. And what will I be doing? You'll hook you up with, I ask if we could get you in a golf cart and you can just drive around and say hi to our vets. Oh, that's great. Okay. But if you also want to hang out in the chipping green, you can do that too, whatever you like. You got run of the course. They're going to go, oh, I see.
Why is she are in my back swing? No, they'll love you. I defend our country and you sent her out here, things like that. Yeah, yeah. No, that would be fun. Okay, I'll swing by and see you. I have to go by the neighborhood anyway and check on my house. Fantastic. Yeah. And then we got a championship to win on Saturday. We're going to win it. Yeah. Okay, you guys. Okay. Thank you guys. Take care of it. Great time, Adams. He's safe and sound. Everything is great. Is this glass okay? Yes. Oh, press the button and make it explode again. That was pretty great. Yeah. Yeah, there's a very scary thing, right? Yes, very scary. Very scary. All right. So we left it on the Fidel Castro. We encourage everybody. If you're watching us on YouTube, you can take a quick break and then, you know, click, you know, search Fidel Castro falling. It's hilarious. Oh, it's funny. It's one of the great falling videos of all time. And it's because he's a dictator. I'm kind of a jerk. So if it were a nice person, we wouldn't do that. Like we're not going to watch Jimmy Stewart. What, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, the stairs. We're not going to watch him fall downstairs. No. Because he's a nice person. That's right. No. But El Castro, it's fine. He can get hurt a little bit. Funny every time. Today, as I mentioned earlier, is National Filet Mignon Day. Okay. You celebrated last night. I did Eve. We liked it. It's like some people open their Christmas presents on Christmas Day. We just did it last night. And how's your video doing? Oh, let's see. Take a look. Remember, you were promoting it as a brawless video earlier. Well, now, the meal looks incredible, Molly, even without the red wine. Thank you. I think we have 11 more thumbs up on our site, but I'll go back to mine. The original source. The original source. And I don't know. We'll see. Hang on a second. Just hang on to something. All right. Horset. Okay. All right. It is also National Left Handers Day. Got any lefties in your world? I sure do. My dad was a lefty. Okay. My friend Heather is a lefty. Okay. I know some other lefties. A couple others, yeah. Yeah, it went up to 106 views. So that's from 90. And then people just wanted to see the, can't really. Just a bad look. Bad look. Let's take you back 107 years ago today. The year is 1919. Okay. At that time, what they called the greatest race horse of all time, man of war, lost a race for the first and only time in his life. Ooh. He was upset by a horse named upset. And that's how that term came about. Oh, it's a big upset. Well, it's because of that. So that horse was just like name for, I'm upset about that. And then it became a term. Now it's a term. If the favorite loses, oh, there was an upset. Then there was somebody who later coined the phrase upstet special. And that was to do with...
Waging on football and such. Upset special. It was a different time back then. The horses were going crazy. You know, they didn't care for them like they do now. Man of War went on to win 1,300 races, and he was the father of 379 baby race horses. Yeah, baby. Get it, Man of War. Get a real man of war. Nice. That's a nice retirement plan. Yeah. Be a stud. Yeah, it's going to be a stud from now on. But I don't, I think the, and I don't know this, but I think the, like the, if you're a major racehorse now, you may do 40 races in your career. Yeah. And then they, you know, if you're good, then you get to go to a. special place and then all the girl race horses come over. Yeah. And then you get to do whatever you want. Here's no, here's the problem with technology. Not only does that happen, but I don't think they get to be with the girls in person. Oh, they got some guy. Shoot it up in there. Yeah, well, first. Imagine the embarrassment. You go to retirement community and you're like, come on out, ladies, here I am. And you have a guy with a big set of rubber gloves coming at you. It's like, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, I want a bunch of races, man. What are you doing all? That feels kind of good. What are you doing down there? You can't, and the horse can't say no, I'm saving it for the ladies. They have no choice. So with technology also comes to that. But I think for the girl horsies, they're probably really happy because you have seen them do it. That's a lot of horse up on your high name. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's a lot. Anything else? It's almost time to go. Oh, we go. Yeah, yeah, we got stuff. You don't want to talk about man of war anymore? Well, no. Say he was hung like a horse. It's all right here. Leonard Skinner released their self-titled debut album on this day in 1973. Do you know what the name of the album was called? Leonard Skinner. It was very, yeah. But on the album, it says pronounced Leonard Skinnerd. So they could get their name out there. Okay. So it wasn't just the name, but it was called pronounced. Oh. And it was all spelled. I get it. Okay. Now I get it. Three major hits from that album. Give me three steps. Simple Man. Mm-hmm. And Free Bird. Free Bird. How did Free Bird? What? Talking about the horses, and she goes, it's no elephant appendage. And somebody says you're hung like an elephant. That's when you're. Oh, that's, yeah. That's right. How did Freebird get to?
Like, that's the song that Freebird. Yeah, yeah. That's weird. That's classic. Mm-hmm. And as you know, it was on this day in 1982 that Fast Times at Ridgemont High was released. Yes. And it was your friend that wrote that, right? Amy Hackerling? Yeah. Or directed it? What did she do? I don't, I know she directed it. I think she, I know she wrote it. Friend is a very strong word for Amy. I was on the set of Look Who's Talking for a month. Close enough. Good enough for me. Good enough for broadcast purposes. All right. There you go. And then Matt Stone and Trey Parker on this day in 1997 released South Park, the first episode. Oh, man. Look at it now. And I can't even say what the title of their first episode was called. Oh, boy, that bad? Yeah. I just, it caught me off. Bad how? Is it racist bad or cussing bad or sex bad? Cartman gets an blank probe. That's funny. You could say anal. Don't say. Don't say. Ow. It was on TV. Well, it was on TV. That was the name of the first episode. That was, you know, South Park. And then they have the little thing right underneath this first episode. And it's still going strong today. Do you really think I wasn't going to fill in that blank? Well, I was hoping you would do it quietly. Anyway. 18 years ago today, 2008, Michael Phelps becomes the winningest Olympic athlete in the history of the world. The world. When he took home his 10th and 11th gold medals at the Beijing Olympics, he went 8 for 8, broke almost every swimming-related medal record in the book. By the time he retired, 23 gold medals. Amazing. That's amazing. And that won't be. That can't be. I don't know how someone breaks that. You have to, well, you have to be in a sport that is like a swimming type of, but I think the only other athletes that could stay in for the amount of time are the equestrian people. Yes. I think that maybe the biathlon, I know there are people who have done the bathlon for years and years, because the skiing isn't, it's not downhill skiing. But that's one event. Like if you're a swimmer, like, well, in the one year, he was in, he won eight medals. So it was eight different events. Same similar skill. But equestrian stuff, you know, you don't, you could be in an Olympics. If you do fantastic, you win two. Yeah. There's not enough events. But I'm just saying that those are the only people who would stay in, to be able to go to as many Olympics as he did. Yeah. He was in three different ones, I think. Yeah, that's great. Maybe four. Television notes tonight, you do have exciting NFL football action. If you enjoy preseason football, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be hosting the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Tennessee Titans. So if you're just cheering, you'd say,
Go pack. Yeah. If you're cheering for Tennessee, you say go. Titans. There's two games you said, doubleheader? Two. It's on the NFL network. So where do we watch this one, though? I don't know. Are they both on the other? Yeah, back to back. On the NFL network. That's the only place you can watch them. They're on a regular TV. These, yeah. Where did I watch one last week? That was the Hall of Fame game, so that was on NBC. You'll have plenty of chances to see preseason football. Because, you know, I'm just dying to see it. Because you're going to be in a fantasy league this year. Yes, I am. It is official. It's already happened. All right, now we're done, right? Yeah. Okay. Yes. Call it a day. Yes. What's the plan for the day? I have a meeting actually at 1115. So I have to leave here at 11.05. Ooh, it must be a close meeting. Yeah, very close. Then I'm having lunch with my friend Mary downtown. I'm going to go and exchange something really quick downtown. We're going to have some lunch. And the rest of the day is pretty open, but tonight we're going to see Frozen Jr. Oh, yeah, yeah. And it's the My Turn Theater. I'm very excited. We love, love, love going to the shows. And again, it's at the Spokane Civic Theater. It runs tonight, runs through the weekend. If you go to the website, the tickets are free. You need to make a reservation so that they know you're coming. But the tickets are absolutely free. And then you can make a donation when you're there or you can donate online. So it's going to be fun. But my friends, Heather. And you go every year to this thing. Always. And I've been in it before. I've been the narrator when they did one. I've never volunteered for the whole shadow actor thing the whole time. But I just love what they do. So we're excited. That'll be our evening. Yeah. I'll finish up here and then it's off to a golf course. Nice. Yeah. This was originally going to be the Down River duel. Right. Our third grand slam event in my battles with Sam. But, you know, he's got the big thing coming up this weekend. And so we're moving that to next week. But it's still downriver. So I'll get to practice a little bit. Yeah.
