They'd blast Led Zeppelin music. And people would come up for the, get out of the car, come up for their coffee and go. And coffee back then was like, you know, 38 cents. And then this guy came and goes, hey, I get tired of getting out of the car every day. Could you just hand it to me when I pull up? Hence the drive-thru was invented. Wow. And then some other guy goes, hey, I want a black coffee, but can you throw some Irish cream in there? And they threw ice cream. Hey, can you load that thing up? What about some cream? And hence the kicker became. Yeah, that's my wife will only have the kicker. That's me. That's me. I'm a kicker. I love the kicker. He goes extra hot, extra sweet. Yeah. What are you drinking? Uh. Well, this one, this morning, I usually do the ice kicker this morning. It was just black because I knew there's going to be enough fireworks today. After yesterday's show. Just iced coffee? So, you know, I think it's great to focus on how we're going to be dispersing this, both directly and over the next few months throughout the community. You know, in America, the money that will be matching will go directly to the school districts, Nine Mile Falls, Mead, and Spokane Public Schools, to get the money into the hands of the kids. that lost everything right before the new school year. I think it's a need that is greatly anticipated from a community standpoint that we need to get these kids that lost everything. Get them to school supplies. Get them new clothes. Get them ready to be successful for this next school year. So getting that money into their hands. All the things that the kids need now for school. And plus just.

Just the basics, but going back to school is always an anxious time anyway. And then trying to have some sort of normalcy when you're in a rental place or somewhere you're not used to and then starting a brand new year. I think that's great. Well, we talked about this a little earlier, you know, and we're in August, but you're going to blink your eyes and it's going to be October, November. And those same kids that lost everything are going to be without boots and gloves and hats and scarves and coats. And the need is going to shift, but it's still going to be there for all those kids. Well said, Cal. Yeah, it's not going to, this is one of those things where the, you know, we're going to still feel the effects of this months, probably years down the road. There was a conversation a couple days ago, talking about high school kids that, you know, if you're a high school, junior, or senior. what you have been through in your school year. Some of those kids were, you know, getting ready for junior high during COVID and everything was shut down. Then they had, you know, that was kind of a mess. Then you, you know, fast forward to... a couple weeks ago, and they've lost their house. And then you talk about the school. It's just a real disconnect with what we all, you know, school is a big part of your, not only you're learning, but your social growth. And so anything that can help ease that as we approach the new school season, I think it's a great idea. It has been a lot for that age group, for sure, and in that area, especially. And then, Kevin, so the money, it sounds like you're matching, and then the money, the other money is going to go towards a long-term solution, which is what? Yeah, so some of it will also go to Anovia, and they'll take care of, they'll work with local nonprofits to distribute. And I think people need to understand what Anovia does, because I think that Anobia doesn't come to a household and hand you money. That's not how it works. It goes. works with the nonprofits that do that. And it's more of an endowment type of long-term growth situation so that the money really builds on itself. Yeah? Yes. And that's like another part why I like this partnership, not just because of Kelly and Amanda and everyone at New America and Carla, but also there's acute and chronic needs here. So today kind of takes care of both of them. Or it helps, I should say. helps a little bit with both of them. Yes, and I think that's a great approach. And Kelly and I had so many conversations about we want to make sure the money stays local. And so that was our text messages and phone calls. Like, let's make sure we were focused on that. You guys do a great job. And your staff is so amazing. They're always, you know, greet us with a happy thing. And I love that. So you have food now. So you brought us sliders. But you have a lot more food, yeah. That's great. I want to try the waffles. What are those? Yeah, the waffles are super popular. Well, they're like waffles. They got little grates in them and stuff. And then, or you say like a decent vocab word and say, well, what that means is. And then you make the person, so it's a great bit. I'll, I'll tell you more. It's a great bit, though. It's a great bit. It's a great bit. You're like, does that make sense? And then you just look at one person. Like what Molly, like Molly's attempted humor. But, I mean, people love the Pac-Man. They love playing. I just saw that. I was actually at the Airway Heights branch. Yeah. And it's so nice. Everything is so nice a place to sit. And then I saw that, and I was in a hurry. I couldn't stay and play Pac-Man, but I wanted to. You should come in and check it out. We used to have iPads for the kids to play. That's not the same. No. And they were breaking and they'd need updating. And now all they have to do is sit down at this old style Pizza Hut video game machine. Those were good days. And pick whatever they want. You know, if I was CEO of Pizza Hut, no joke, the very first thing I would do was return it to the 80s. Oh, yeah. Because it's nostalgic, it's unique, it's a way, and it's what people really want. Bring back that, what do you call it, the cast iron pans and just return it like it was. Oh, yeah. I would do something a little different than with the salad bar. What would do? Oh, the sneeze card. You know, remember they were. They've been updated great. We need that. It's a better, better product now. Probably comply with the latest health requirements. Probably a good idea. In fact, I'd return health standards to the 80s. Basically, read with your bare hands to get the salad. We have made modern improvements into the health of things. The rusty nail. It's just the rusty nail thing. I think it'd go over just great. It's fine. Oh, boy. You know, at neon pizza inside Northern Quest, they have all the videos. They have the good pizza, but then they all.

also have the 80s candy and they have like the 80s um posters and the pinball machines and stuff. Very good feedback. Well, you know, Ross, my little guy, little dude, he's said several times, like him and his friends wish they grew up in the 80s. And he's like, was it awesome? And I'm like, it was bitching. It was just incredible. We were just talking about that because my friend Stacey and I grew up in L.A. in the 80s, and there's this new show that I started watching. She told me about, but we have said many times. We grew up in the best time. I think that's true. Great music, still safe, all that. We did have serial killers running wild. Lots of them in the 80s. It was a hotbed of serial killers, especially in L.A. Watch out. But other than that, it was great. Yeah. Other than that. No one has a response to that. What about Fresno? That was cool in the 80s. Remember they put the F in Fresno. All my family is from L.A. And do you know that you and I, I am. I have, I can't believe we've never talked about this, but there's something you don't know about me. What? That I, too, have a shared love for theater. I always have since high school. And we've never talked about that. In fact, when I was coming back, I was in New York for two days, and I took in the great Gatsby. I love theater. I've seen Phantom. I've, in London. I like, wherever I am, I try, if it's a big theater place, I try and catch a show. Gatsby was a F. Scott. That's the bit. See? Good job. Is that good? You're talking to a guy that loves theater as well. But did you see the look on his face? But did you see the look on his face? It was kind of like, I'm not stupid. I love theater. I love theater. In the early 30s, it was one of L.A.'s like best hotels and it was great, but then the Depression, things of that. And it never recovered, obviously. And it's in a real kind of sketchy part of L.A. But when you take photos of it, it still has the grandier chandeliers. And so the photos still look like it's unreal. And so a lot of people that are visiting the U.S. from out of the country, they will stay there, not realizing how... it's not a good hotel anymore. And then there was a really freaky Netflix series. I guarantee one of the listeners knows the name of it. I'm just blanking on it. The Chico Hotel or something like that. But yeah, it shows it shows it's a really freaky scene where it's live footage or it was, it's actual footage. And it shows her hand does something funny. And then she like, kind of disappears at the elevator, walks out, and she's just gone. No other cameras ever got her. And so it's been this big mystery, whatever happened to her. And then when the Netflix did the show, they're like, so many people have disappeared here because it's not the... Is it a documentary? It's a documentary. And then, so my cousin and I were walking downtown L.A. a year ago, and I'm like, we got to find that hotel. And we found it. And I walk, I go, okay, here's a deal. Secret of life. Always... look like you know where you're going even when you don't. So the door open, I darted right in this thing. And I was like, this is going to be freaky. And if I disappear, like, come get me. And he was like, okay, I'll follow you. And then I got stopped right away by someone. They're like, hey, you can't be here and all this stuff. But I walked right in that thing. But it's an amazing documentary. You would love it with your affection for a serial killer.
