This is my game. Tio Fimo Lopez has never needed one. This guy's got a big mouth. For years, they've had plenty to say. All your do is talk. But with world championship gold on the line, can they back it? Tio, I'm here. I'm going all in. It's time to put up or shut up. Raleighamero versus Tiofimo Lopez. August 22nd. I'll shut you up. Watch on Dazone and Dazone on Prime. video. At exactly 933, one radio host throws away the script, opens the phone lines, and invites Virginia into the conversation. The results? Completely unpredictable. The responsibility, entirely Rich Herreras. The 933 experiment. This is News Radio, WRVA. All right, it is Richmond's Morning News. This is my idea. So I got to live with the last couple experience. People got kind of hot under the collar with me, Dave. So we open up the phone lines for you because, again, I just, I want people to remember, you have a voice. We need to use it. We've been told forever that our voices don't matter, that the elites are charged. I say rubbish, rubbish, I tell you.

3:28

So I do want to hear from you. Now, it doesn't mean we're going to agree, and it's okay if you don't agree. In fact, Super Dave, what would you say if someone agreed with me 100% of the time? I tell him to knock it off. No, yeah, exactly. We already have one Richard Herrera we don't like, but we don't need another one. But I also think that we don't need to, we all don't need to agree on everything, right? That's what you do in communist countries. Oh, you don't agree with the Chinese Communist Party? Great. We'll put you in a re-education camp. You'd see some of the disagreements me and you have. So now you're just going to put my, now you're just going to put our business out on the street, huh? Well, we don't agree on everything. No, we don't. Even when it just, and it's. It's just stuff that comes to this show. You don't like country music. I don't know what's wrong with you. I wouldn't say I don't like country music. I just don't like a lot of the new stuff. The old like Whalen Jennings, Johnny Cash, all that stuff's awesome. Get off my yard old man. Yeah. Get off my front yard. But yeah, the newer stuff. Eric Church and that kind of stuff. I like Johnny Cash. I like Johnny Cash. I'm not into. I like the old stuff. I'm excited Clint Black's coming into Innsbrook. Clint's okay. I don't mind Clint. He's got some good songs. Yeah, I'm excited about that. But you don't have to agree with me on everything. In fact, if you do, something's probably wrong with us. And that's, I get that all the time. Well, you've got to agree with somebody on. No, I don't. I can think for myself. So we open up the phone lines to everybody. 833, 804, 1140, 833, 833, 804 1140. So I've been going back and forth and people have been sending me text messages all morning about the lottery. Powerball tonight. One billion dollars. Oh, let me make sure I do this correctly, like Dr. Evil. One billion dollars tonight. So Dave, here's my question that I want to ask people. When I win tonight, you like that? When I win the Powerball tonight. Not if, when? Power positive thinking, right? I like your attitude. Okay, so I got a couple questions I want to ask you. Please help me out here. 833, 804, 1140. One question. When you buy a lottery ticket, do you buy it thinking you're going to win or have you already given up? I'm just buying the stupid thing anyway and I'm never going to win. I'm buying it just. thinking I'm never going to win. I buy it. I do a little prayer. I buy the lottery ticket. Maybe the problem is the prayer isn't long enough. Or God's like, seriously, you're the last guy I want to see walking around with a billion dollars in his pocket. You know what kind of idiot you'd be? Oh, I would be such an idiot. Oh, would I be such an idiot. Well, you can be a big idiot with a billion dollars. Oh, yeah. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. So a couple questions. Or just take 500 million and be an idiot with 500 million. Exactly. All right. So let's open up the phone lines. 833, 804, 1140. If you win the lottery, do you take the lump sum or do you take the annuity over 30 years? Do you want that? And I'm going to break this all down for you. And the other part of I want to know from people, just to see.

6:44

What is the first stupid thing that you're going to buy? If you win the lottery, what are you going to buy? Dave, you win the lottery tonight? Tell me a couple of things you're going to buy, including something really stupid. Well, I don't think I'd buy. I don't think it's stupid, but I would buy, I'd have a garage full of cars. I'm talking like Jay Leno-sized garage of cars. Okay, so that's your stupid thing. Yeah. I would have a... Oh, wow. I'd have to update my gun collection because I'm lacking in gun collection. I would have hundreds of events probably. Okay, I'm not going to complain about that because I love the Second Amendment. Okay. So do I? And it would be like historical weapons and stuff plus stuff I shoot? Like a brown best. Would you get a brown best from the Revolutionary War? Absolutely. Like a Lamat. No, guns that are like $20,000. $30,000. You know, when I go over to Green Top to the shooting range, you know what? Staccato pistols. Okay, that's... Oh, I want one of those. That's at least a thousand bucks, right? Try five. Five thousand? Yeah, I didn't know that was that high. And you can rent them to the shooting range. It's shooting range. I love them. All right, so that's what Super David was. What would you buy, Richmond? 833, 804, 1140, 833, 804, 1140 is the number for you to join us. Phone lines are open, or you send me a text message. What would you buy? And would you take, oh, by the way, Dave, are you disciplined enough that you can take the whole bundle of money? Or do you need to be like rich where I just kind of take the annuity and get paid over 30 years? Well, I mean, I wouldn't make the 30 years. So I would take the lump sum. And just blow it all and not give anything to anybody? No, I wouldn't blow it all. I'd take, you know. Let's see, what, lump sums, what, $450? I'll explain to everybody. And again, phone lines are open 833, 804, 1140. All right, if you won the $1 billion powerball jackpot, you would not get a billion dollar check. It's a 30-year annuity, which means cash value is about 43 to 45% of the jackpot. So, if the jackpot tonight is $1 billion, your cash option. before taxes would be about $435 to $450 million. That's if you took the lump sum. Took the love of something. But then you've got to pay taxes on that. So federal tax on that is originally at a, they'll withhold 24%, but ultimately you're going to go to the top rate of 37% as we tax the billionaires. Okay? So after federal taxes, that comes down to about... $275 to $285 million. Then Virginia is going to want their money. So if you're at about $2.50 to $260, you would end up, well, Virginia would take their, so there's more money. So let's see, after the $1 billion. 435, 37% off your cash value. Okay, here it is. Cash value. You'd end up paying, of the 453, you'd pay 167 in federal taxes. You'd give Abigail Spanberger $26.1 million, so you'd have about $259 million in your pocket if you had taken that. Then if you went for the annuity, first year you'd get...

10:17

$15.1 million, and then it would travel from there. So which do you take? Let's go to Tony on line one. Hey, Tony, welcome. You're... Nobody gets into maintenance for the paperwork. But somewhere along the way, the clipboards piled up and the spreadsheets multiplied. Good technicians spend hours per day on admin instead of turning a wrench. MaintaneX was built to give that time back. Preventative maintenance runs on a real schedule, automated, assigned, and nothing slipping through. With MaintainX, work orders go out in seconds, and everyone from the floor to the front office knows what's due and when. So your team gets back to the machines, not the paperwork. Over 14,000 companies are already running on MaintainX because the people who keep the world running deserve tools that actually work. Try MaintainX free at MaintainX.com. And on August 22nd, two of boxing's biggest take center stage. Raleigh Romero never follows the script. This is my game. Tio Fimo Lopez has never needed one. This guy's got a big mouth. For years, they've had plenty to say. All you do is tall. But with world championship gold on the line, can they back it? Tio, I'm here. I'm going all in. It's time to put up or shut up. Raleigh-R-Female versus Tiofimo Lopez. August 22nd. I'll shut you up. Watch on DeZone and DeZone on Prime Video. You see you in Midloki, and I've talked you many times at some of the events and stuff. Yeah, yeah, hey, how are you? It's doing well. So, hey, my wife used to always joke. You say, when you're really buying a lot of tickets, you're buying hope, right? Yes. And so why wait to the last minute? You buy it a week ahead of time as soon as you can, and you get more hope for your dollars. So you'd be to lose on the last day, you get more hope for your dollar. That, you know what? That is the, I've never heard that before, and I'm glad. You know what? We need more in this life. Seriously? Right now, in America right now, I need more hope, don't I? Faith hope and love, brother. That's, you know what, will you give her a hug for me? We'll do. Yeah, that is, you know what? That just puts a smile on my face. We need more hope. We need more hope in this world. So thank you, Tony, for the call. Appreciate it, man. Can't wait to see you again. You know what? You get a chance. A week from Saturday, Tom Leonard's, I'm cooking lunch for everybody. Come by, buy a sandwich. We're going to give the proceeds to reads across America. So I hope you come out there for my Santa Maria style tri-tip sandwich. It's a sirloin steak sandwich. We cut it across the grain. It is delicious. I can't wait. So. And if you win the lottery, you can make a bigger donation. Two? To the REITs across America. Oh, 100%. You come out there and buy everybody a sandwich. 100%. Okay, so let's say you walk away with the $259 million after taxes. If you invest it, okay, you get a 4% return, you generate $10.36 million a year. And 4% that's... That's nothing. Yeah, that's nothing. Or you'd end up getting about $863. thousand dollars per month before taxes so just shy of uh a million dollars a month correct so before taxes before taxes so just in case what i say you make 10 million dollars a year yeah 10.3 10.3 million dollars a year to 4% return now guess how much money you'd have to pay though uh uh You'd probably be down to what, about 400,000 after taxes a month? No, actually it's better than that. So if you just got a 4%, if you took the whole lump sum of 250, put in the bank, you got 4% interest back, you would end up making $10.36 million a year gross. After taxes, Uncle Sam, why do you take so much money from us? 7.3 million. That's not too bad. A year. Right. Which is, what, about 30%? Right. Well, that's that, yeah. Then you would take home every month $608,000. I don't know if I could live on that day. It'd be tough. I'd have to live paycheck to paycheck. Yeah. So it'd be, if you're planning on it, just in this fantasy, $259 invested.

16:05

You live on about 250, 300,000 a month, reinvest it, and the fortune can keep growing with compound interest. Now am I getting you to fantasize thinking about what, if you won the lottery, what would you do? See, and just if it was me, so it would be, what, 239 after taxes on a lump sum? Let's say 250. 250. Okay. I'd put 50 million in just in a fixed income just like that. Well, look at you, Mr. Fitt. What am I talking to Michael Greer? You'd be surprised. So basically I'd give $50 million to Michael Greer just to invest for me. Just I go, don't let me touch this. Keep it away from me. If I come for this money, it's because I already spent the other $200 million. Because there are people to win the lottery and they are broke. It's like what, 70, 80% are broke after like 10 years or something like that, which is crazy. And now they all don't win a billion dollars. But the thing is, they don't know how to say no. Exactly. Because everybody you ever know is going to be coming to you for money. They're a billionaire. They're all going to be coming and asking, oh, can you help me this? Can you help me with that? Will you invest in this? I know so many pro athletes, Dave, completely dead flat broke. Because they, and how do you say no to people you grow up with? Hey, do you remember me? Hey, I was your this, I was your that. Hey, I'm your aunt. I'm your cousin twice removed. And they all come looking for money. And when they do, oh, yeah, look at Dave. Dave, what a billion dollars. Won't help out his buddy. I've got this mobile dog washing slash Pilates class that is going to be the greatest investment of all time, Dave. We go, we wash people's dogs, and then we give Pilate lessons while the dog owner watches us wash the dog in their driveway. Why once you, you're worth a billion dollars? Give me $10 million to invest in my dog washing Pilates business. And just along those same lines, this is, sorry I just saw yesterday, I think, or maybe the day before. Michael Irvin, from Dallas Cowboys. He says he owns seven houses in Florida. and they're all, he has family members in each of them. In every house. In every house and none of them pay rent. No. And they're always asking them for more money. Hey, can you get us new cabinets in the house? He goes, hey, he just. You don't pay rent here. You don't pay rent or anything. I broke all the other cabinets. Yeah, exactly. And it's, now I was, I would have kicked them all out by now, even if they were family. But, but he said, yeah, he has like seven properties in Florida, which I'm sure they're. nice properties. Oh, yeah. They're not going to be little shacks. And he has family living in all of them. None of them pay rent to them, and they're always asking for money. And they're always, yeah, and it's weird because you, there's a, there's a, there's a winner's guilt. Yeah, I believe it, yeah. I mean, think about this. If I, if I won the billion dollars, when I feel guilty, that I have all this money and Dave, Dave has nothing. Oh, Dave, here, let me take you out.

19:17

Dave, let me take care of this. Yeah, I take advantage of that. Would I win the billion dollars? Now, if I would, I wouldn't have... You'd be the perfect billionaire. Oh, yeah. You'd be Scrooge McDuff. Well, I would give... I'd give you money. You would? Yeah, oh, yeah. Really? Yeah. I'd take care of you. Just, if you wanted to quit your job, I'd give you like a million bucks just so you could walk away if you wanted to. Well, see, that's not much of an offer, though. It's more than you got now. No, because you know the answer. Why? If you offer them a million dollars say, hey, you don't have to work anymore, what do you think I'd say? Oh, you'd still come in at 4 o'clock in morning. Yeah, that's like, hey. Well, I'd still give you a million dollars. If you want to quit, then quit. If you don't, then I won Powerball today, I'm giving you a million dollars. I'm buying you the Ferrari or Lamborghini. I'll take either of. And then you're going to get whatever vehicle you want. Well, you got a billion dollars. You can buy me both. Yeah. No, I said, I'm going to give you a million dollars. Okay. I'm going to buy you a Lamborghini or Ferrari. Which did you want? Well, you can buy me both. Okay, so you're going to get a million dollars, the Lambo, the Ferrari, and... Both of those together is about another million. Okay, and you get whatever car you want from Pearson's signature dealerships. Okay, I'm sure I'd pick out a nice cheap, just for my everyday driver. Oh, yeah. I mean, they've got some really... Would you get the Wrangler, like my friends at River, River City Jeep? Or would you go get like the big, gigantic Cherokee with everything included? No, I probably get like the Rubicon, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. One of my friends has one of those, and they're really nice. Or would you go get the... A big Dodge truck. Like the big one. No, I think I go with a... I already have a truck, so I'll keep that one. I'll keep that too. Yeah. I mean... So I'm already up to four cars and... Yeah. I haven't spent any money. Well, listen, that's what we're going to get. So again, I hope you better win that. You better pray hard. I want a long prayer. I want, I want you to go to buy a ticket, say a long prayer before you go in and buy it. Say another long prayer when you leave the wherever you buy it from the gas station, wherever you buy it from. I didn't go to church on Sunday. Oh, well, now we're not having to get anything now. Oh, because I went to go to the night before. Yeah, I just, I messed up right up. All right. Is that it? Are you telling me shut up, be done? Yeah, you still got about a minute and a half. He's looking at me to be quiet. All right, quick reminder, WRVA.com slash call. Please sign up. I think we've got just, just, I can't tell you how many, but I know there's less than a handful of spots open. Please help us raise money for tunnel the towers. Mark it on your calendar next Saturday, not this, I'm sorry, a week from Saturday, the 22nd, 22nd, Tom Leonard's. I'm going to be out there cooking. I'm going to be grilling Santa Maria-style tri-tip sandwiches. It's a sirloin cut. Money we raise that day. We're going to donate to Reese Cross America. My friends from Rivers City, Rangler is going to be out there. I hope you do as well. And one more thing I was supposed to remind everybody of. Oh, tomorrow. Dave, speaking of Tom Leonard, do you want to go with me?

22:27

For filet mignon day? That would be awesome. Yeah, Filet Mignon Day. Tom Leonard's tomorrow, get there early, the best price of like $12 a pound, and they'll slice the whole filet up for you. Tomorrow on the program, can I tell everybody who's coming on the show tomorrow? Real quick? Sure. We have people scheduled. It's written in stone, but we're 90% there. I'm just going to put it out there just in case if it doesn't show up it's your fault. If he doesn't show up, it's your fault, Patrick Duffy. Patrick Duffy from Dallas, who played Frank Lambert. Bobby Ewing. I liked him as Frank Lambert with Suzanne Summers. Anyway, he's coming on the show tomorrow. He's in town. So I said, hey, can we get him to come by? So he's coming on the show, Governor Gilmore. So make sure you tune in tomorrow morning. Time for a national anthem. Brought to you by Freedom Services and training the biggest little gunstore in town. I get up early every morning because there's a couple of things I believe in fighting for. One is my family. The other is this great country. It's News Radio, WRVA. Your line just went down. Production stopped. A supervisor wants answers. And someone's digging through a binder for the maintenance history. Every one of those minutes costs money. And most of the time, that breakdown could have been prevented. That's where MaintainX comes in. MaintainX catches the failure before it happens.
