Was Curtis Sliwa Right About Mamdani?

117 segmentsTom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. All right, what a show? I've been called Mike three or four times already today rather than Dom. Go figure. But we have Pastor Bill Devin probably on his trusty satellite phone. He's in an easer area today. I mean, he's not in the outskirts of Uganda or talking with Amos. He is in Cuba, where he once called me. I think it was on a different time slot. hiding on a rooftop with a satellite phone. Things have changed. I think he's got some big event going on. What is it like in Cuba today? Boots on the ground. Pastor Bill Deppelin with us. Talk Radio 1210. Pastor Bill, where are you and what's going on today? Dioste Bendiga, to all of your listeners. God bless you, Dom, and Henry. And here I am in the unfortunate place of Cuba. I'm down here for, I've been doing this 14 years. I do Christian conferences for Cuban teenagers. So we call them Jesus Youth Festivals, and this is Year 14. I do it, as you can imagine, I actually do it with permission of the Cuban Communist Party. Why would they do that allow religion? Isn't that one of the first things, Bill, or do they think, hey, let them have their religion. We don't care about that. How does that work? Well, it works because I work with about 30 pastors here in Cuba that are great people. They're not rising up against the government. And so what they do is they actually apply for me to get a special what they call a religious visa. So I'm down here with the team. I've got team members from California and New York. And I bring American teenagers down here. And then we just did a full two weeks of two Jesus youth festivals in the city of Holgene, which is Cuba's third largest city. And I came in, and this is my 56th time, Dom, to Cuba. And so I just bring these American teenagers in, and I rent a small facility, and we minister to over 260 Cuban teenagers. And they love it. We feed them. We worship God, and we have great music, and we have great teaching. So it's a very, very happy time, because if you can, you know, you can imagine the socialist, communist state that I've been coming to since 2007. And, Don, you mentioned when I was on that rooftop with a satellite phone. That was actually 2008. So that was almost 20 years ago in our long-term friendship. So so grateful for you and 1210. And so we did two weeks with permission to the Cuban communist government, had permission from the U.S. government. And again, I've been doing this since 2012, and we've had great success. We've reached out to thousands of Cuban teenagers. And the conditions now are unbelievable. Again, it's...
I've been here 56 times to Cuba and probably 25 different cities where we've been holding these youth festivals because of generous donors in America and they want to see Cuban turned around with the gospel of Jesus. But fuel is scarce. Food is scarce. People are depressed. They're desperate. All the social pathologies that come to a failed socialist communist state like Cuba are coming out, increased drug use, increased divorce. multiple comorbidities and health problems. So the island is really decreasing. Of course, over 2 million Cubans have left over the last two years. The people that had the ability to leave, whatever was left of the middle class is now out of Cuba. They have gone to Mexico, Brazil, United States, Spain, etc. And so it's really a desperate situation. And so that's why I've committed to continue to bring hope. to the Cuban people and to particularly Cuban teenagers. So what's amazing, we're getting on a flight now to come home back to the Estados Unitos United States, and it's on American Airlines flying out of Miami. The plane is now on its way from Miami. As soon as it touches down, they disgorge the plane of some 200 passengers, and then we run on. And then we get back to Miami. Why such a quick turnaround? Because they don't have any jet fuel in Cuba. So, and now, you know, people in America will blame the situation on G2, DJT, right? It's all Trump's fault. It's all Trump's fault. But we know it's not Trump's fault. It's the Cuban communist socialist system, and it's completely collapsed. So if you can imagine now a nation of 11 million people, now 9 million people, the people are desperate, the people have, they can't find food. They can't find fuel. Yesterday, in fact, I sent you a video, Dom, I was at one of the largest... tourist attractions. It's called Guadalavaca. It's on the northeastern coast of Cuba. And this place is huge. And we were the, oh, my team, we were the only 15 people on the beach because the entire resort had shut down because of the socialist communist system. So it's, you know, we're here to bring hope to the people. And
We just love coming down and doing these Jesus youth festivals. And I'm not on a rooftop. I'm actually at an airport on a regular cell phone. So I hope they're not listening in. But you know what, John? They probably are. Well, Bill, one of the things, what is it with the left? And it's so easy. You're on the ground there and 56 times. We had this a little bit in Italy, which is socialist when it comes to its medical thing. Bit of a debate on the last trip where he took listeners with the one person. It was common all. But this idea, and it's all, you know, the documentaries on this, the health care system, but everybody gets health care there. Yeah, so do they do in Canada, six months if you live. And they put a band-aid on and say, see you later, Amigo. What's the health care system like? It's totally collapsed. The doctors earn about $10 a month. And, of course, we had a quid pro. Cuba had a quid pro quo, quid pro quo with Venezuela. Venezuela says to Cuba, we'll give you oil. Cuba says to Venezuela, we'll send you doctors, nurses, and dentists. Well, the health care system, you know, as I say to my socialist-oriented friends, if you think health care in America is expensive, wait until it's free. It'll be non-existent. So, yeah, if you're here in Cuba and you get sick, you better hope to God that you're going to get on the next plane back to America. So Cubans rarely go to the hospital because they don't have needles or they may reuse needles. They reuse linens. They reuse rubber gloves. I mean, it's dystopic. The health care here in Cuba, even though every, you know. Like I wrote a letter to Michael Moore a couple of years ago and said, hey, if you ever need surgery, come to Cuba. Yeah, exactly. Well, he didn't take me up on the offer. Well, you also offered every member, I believe, of city council to come and join you in Cuba. No takers, though. Exactly. I wrote a letter two weeks ago because of the crazy Philadelphia City Council. I mean, you know, John Alante would love this. I wrote a letter because. City Council did a proposal condemning Trump and, you know, look what you've done to Cuba. And so I wrote a letter and I said, look, I'm going to be in Cuba early in August, but now I'm going to be back this Tuesday, this coming Tuesday, 17th or 18th. I'll be back and we'll do another Jesus youth festival in Havana with a couple hundred kids. And I wrote a letter and sent an email to every one of Philadelphia City Council as a former. Philadelphia resident now in Montgomery County. And I didn't get one response, Dom. And then the letter I said, you know, you made this proposal that we need to help Cuba and it's all Trump's fault. And I sent the letter and the email to every one of the council members at large and district. And I said, well, look, come with me for two or three days. And you can see the whole situation. Not one taker from city council. So.
I expected that, but I just wanted to do that, so they're now without excuse. So why is Philadelphia City Council taking a position on Cuba? Why don't you put your focus on the People's Republic of Philadelphia and improve there? Exactly. Well, Bill, thank you for this, and it's better the talk we did this way than the other. I worried about your safety. People can follow you where to see the footage, the videos, and all the rest that you're doing. Yeah, well, I'm putting stuff on Facebook so they can go to William P.B., which stands for Pastor Bill, William P.B. Devlin, my last name, D.E.V.L.N. Or they can just go on any social media, X, Instagram, and they'll see updates. And let me say, I'm going to be back next week. Any of your listeners want to come to Cuba with me? I say, bienvenitos. Welcome. And then I'll be back here with another Jesus youth festival, December 26 through the 30 of 2020. And then we'll be back August to 2027. So if anybody wants to come to a socialist and communist dystopic land, I'm your guy that can bring you there. So, Dom, thank you so much for our long-term friendship. And God bless you, Dio Sabin Biga, and keep Jesus number one. Thanks so much, Tom. Be safe, Pastor Bill Devlin. Yeah, I've been offered to him. The best or worst invite ever was, Kurt Weldon, who was a congressman, and somehow another, would talk to the North Koreans and would go there. Oh. He said, you can broadcast from there, but I can't guarantee anything might happen if you do the normal show you do. So, you know, and I was told, you know, North Korea is dark at night. So it might be a problem at any point getting out, you know, imagine broadcasting for North Korea. Greg soccer, sure, let's do it. Oh, my God. Yeah, a lot of pressure there. Cuba, though, it seems like with Devlin a little bit easier to talk. All right, this is what it comes down, and they always, Michael Moore and these others go back. Well, you get medical care there. You get medical care in Canada. It sucks. As bad as medical care here is, as much of a rat race as it is, compare that to what goes on there. You just heard Bill Devin right there, boots on the ground, 56 times there. They will not stop on this stuff. They want to believe in unreality, unicorns, and everything else. And it's not due to the United States. I broadcast from Gitmo. That has to be 20 years plus now. And they did have somebody in holding English on the other side. You can go up to the line at Gitmo where it is. Yankees, come on over here. And you have these cars that try to its minds that blew up like 57 Chevys are blown up there between the two. You can walk right up to it with Colonel Scott Rudder and former program director who went with me. It is amazing to be on Gitmo to be surrounded. in that manner and to see the criminals we have there now and to be surrounded by Cuba. All right, phone lines are 855-839-1210. When Zenos call, yeah, I see Zenos is here. Come on, Zenos. I think you would date Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Robert of Ben Salms, the only guy to admit it here. Alante during the break was just squirming in his chair, just the mention of this Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thing.
Henry's all on board with it. And we haven't heard from Stratmere. They can call in and make their case why they need beach tags all of a sudden. I will never be a fan of the beach tag. It's up there at Capitol Punt. It's just wrong. I think these places benefit so much from shoebies from the rest of us going down there. They should foot the cost. I mean, Wildwood does it. North Wildwood does it. Although, if you get bitten by a shark, we were told by the former mayor, that's on you in North Wildwood. We're not closing down the beaches. I wonder what Linda Kearns thinks about beach tags, since she favors the mayor of Amity. Oh, that's a good question. I'll be a great debate. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I think she'd be in my camp on this, but you never know. Yeah. It could be some weird ipso facto thing going on there. All right. It is time right now, though, for... It's Dobbs Money Melody. All right, today you will get two tickets to the Philadelphia Eagles training camp public practice presented by Blue Cross. On Tuesday, August 25th, 8 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field, this event will benefit the Eagles Autism Foundation for tickets and more information. Visit Philadelphia Eagles.com slash public practice. Okay, Henry. Yeah, Mike. So on the side question today. Thank you, Charlie. Yes. We're asking for that all-time most popular thing. And I'd be hard pressed to say that this song I'm going to play for you. is not the most popular song of all time. And you might argue back against it saying, oh, well, you only hear it for what? One, two, maybe three months out of the year? And I'd say, yeah, but we've heard it every year since it came out in 1994. And I'm, of course, talking about Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You, which was the highest selling single of the 90s with over 33 million units sold. So I'm going to play you all I want for Christmas today. I just want to know who's going to be covering this song. And I think this band covering Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas. is you is kind of the opposite here. Uh, they're a one hit wonder. from the 90s as well. But yeah, not as much staying power as Mariah Carey has. But I will say their one song, their one hit, is a classic song to me. It's a very catchy song. Get stuck in your head. I'm sure when I play it in a few commercial breaks, it'll get stuck in your head too. So I want to know... Because stands up. Yeah. Exactly. So I want to know the name of this band of brothers from Oklahoma who hit it big when they were just kids. Want to know who they are.
covering all I want for Christmas right here. Band of Brothers from Oklahoma with one singular hit. Want to know who they are covering this very popular song. All right. Hit us with that. You're off to the Eagles practice. Also coming up. A really bad idea from ICE. A really, really bad idea. Does it mean they have too much money to spend what they want to purchase? God. 855-839-1210. You get in with Dom on Talk Radio 1210. Tom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. It's Dom. Money Melody. Where has all the money gone? Show me to my... That is exactly right. Here's Henry's cover today. Let's hear it. Most popular song of all time, Mike? I think so. Thank you. I was just thinking of this trio, Megan Markle, Yoko Ono, and the author of the song here, which one is the most insufferable? Megan Markle. For sure. For sure. Yeah, if that marriage ends up in a divorce. Okay. I think the, I was so glad when she got rocked on New Year's Eve that year. Yeah, it's so deserved. I can't even imagine being around that diva. Let's go to Karen in Bluebell. Karen, who's singing the song? Is it the Jonas Brothers? The Jonas Brothers come up a lot for some reason. Sorry, Karen. It's a good guess, but they're 2,000s. We're looking for 90s. 90s. Paula in Belmar, New Jersey. Hey, Paula. What's your answer? Hi. I think it's the Hanson brothers. All right. There we go. The Hansen Brothers. Not of Slapshot, right? The other handsome brothers. No, the other Hanson brothers. Yeah, I don't think they're even born yet when that movie came out. All right. Paul is the winner. She's off to the Eagles practice. A couple of things that have developed here. One, ice bad idea today. I can't believe Holman's involved with this. These electric gloves, $10 million they spend, and they hit you with the glove. And the glove acts kind of like a taser, I think. Again, you know, I realize ICE doesn't want to have to use extreme methods and all. But does this strike you as something that plays into the hands on the other side? You know, in a worst case scenario, all right, a taser. But what could go wrong? You know what can go wrong with this. There will be lawsuits. There will be trouble. Ten million bucks they want to spend. But another bad idea, and as much as I like Curtis Sleewap. He goes off just to have a hot take at times. Curtis Sliwa is calling out the family members and saying, look, Zohran Mamdani is the mayor of New York. He wasn't Fagasy. He wasn't fake. He told you exactly what he was running on and he won. So you should treat him with respect and have him at the 9-11 ceremony this year. Now, I often say, if the person represents the office, I get that in general. But this guy with 9-11 and the, what should we say, the connection to where he's coming from and how we were attacked and killed and those poor families, no, Curtis Lee was wrong to call out the families.
And absolutely, if they turn their back on Zohran Mamdani, if they try to pressure to say, we don't want you there, you creep, I'm exactly on board. And I get, well, he is the mayor of New York. Yeah, and in ordinary circumstances, I get that. But when we're dealing with 9-11, the 25th anniversary, and this guy's attitude toward October 7th, the wife. The Muslim stuff up and down the line. No, I don't think he belongs there. I think they have every right to say it's reprehensible. It's too much to go along with 3,000 people murdered around this stuff. He has not said the right things about 9-11. He consorts with people who seemingly take joy in that. No, I agree with the family. He's not Curtis Sliwa on this. And again, I get his point. Well, you got to respect the office. As I said, you know, if he's coming, he's mayor of New York, et cetera, on an ordinary sort of thing. This is not ordinary. 25th anniversary of 9-11. No. No way. If they turned their back on him, I'm not saying you should scream at him because then you are downplaying the solemnity of this whole thing. But turning your back on him, silent protest, petition saying, don't show up, buddy. We don't want you there. I'm on exactly that same wavelength. So yes, he's the mayor. You got to accept that. It is the office, et cetera. But not on this, not on something, this momentous, not on life and death. No, they have every right. They didn't vote for him. They're protesting not just against him, but these people in New York under this guise of affordability are willing to allow this radical to be anti-American and certainly not. What's he going to say about 9-11? What's the great man? What's Zeramandani going to say? He's going to say we were killed on 9-11. It's outrageous. They're going to be all sort of perfunctory statements in there. So when you see Curtis Sliwa, I realize, you know, he's hustling here and he's getting his name out there. His point is not correct. I'm wavering. Should we get him back on and all and go through that? But, I mean, he and I have duked it out on several things over the years. And this is one of them where we don't need to be lectured to, particularly these families. I think their gut instincts are right. You can't stand there with Zohran Mamdani. It's not just a guy you differ with here around the edges. He fundamentally is out of place there. He fundamentally is the enemy of this. 855, 839, 1210, AT&T, and Verizon Wireless, all you have to do is push pound 1210. Hit us with something that was wildly popular. And really, you know, creative star. It could be a trend. It could be a product. It could be a person. And yet it had staying power even after the height of its popularity. That's what we're looking for. All that coming off, John Lennon, today. And thanks to Bill Devlin, right there in Cuba, in the center of it, giving lie.
Hasan Piker also went to Cuba, stayed in a luxury hotel. I don't even know if there is such a thing now and came through with it. Zohran Mamdani is pretty much Hasan Piker without saying these things publicly, being a bit more circumspect about it. I don't care if he is the mayor of New York. He doesn't belong at that ceremony. Again, you should not, though, disrupt the ceremony. It's too solid. And the way to do that would be to turn your back on it, a silent protest, dignified, if he does show up, or through public opinion, trying to get it clear, he has no place being there. He just does not. Let's go to Susan in Chester Springs on Talk Radio 1210. Hey, Susan. Hey, Dom. How are you? Good, good. I don't know. I work with a Muslim, and he likes to tell me how I threw him on the ground and handled him in the middle of Westchester, which isn't true, how poor Muslims are being stabbed and murdered all over the United States. And how he's targeted when he's in his car. And I said, but you look like an Indian to me. He said, but they have community. I said, but their community isn't in the car. I mean, I just have to keep quiet because he's a poor soul, actually. Yeah. But Susan, to the point with this, again, I know when someone gets elected, president or whatever, you've got to respect the office. It's the office. But not on this, not on this, not on people being murdered that are loved ones. There's a line here. He should not be there. And Curtis Sliwa should stop grifting off this and recognize that. Well, and after all the things, the wife said, no, absolutely he should not be there. But anyway, the answer to the side question is television. I remember my grandparents, I mean, I wasn't alive when they had the first television, the little tiny screen in the great big box. And it went from there, and it is still. popular it changed the way we viewed the world it was in every household in the beginning it was quite a status to have a television and then when you got color oh my god that was really the thing to have well to buttress your point when we have a product called tv dinners that tells you all you need to know yeah well that's what i was going to say but then i thought well television yeah thank you thank you susan thanks very much uh that is a good one The two things today that just I'm still working on the beach tag with all these fundamentally big things in the world. I just cannot stand the beach tag present. Sorry, Strathmere. It's not you. It's just the whole thing. And I can't stand the fact that Major League Baseball glomming on to the field of dreams makes it you can only see the game tonight on Netflix. I don't know, to her point about TV, it triggered it again. I don't know the percentage of America. I think the percentage we found out with the home run derby is lower than we think. I thought Netflix was 50, 60 percent of Americans. Anybody know what the best guess is? Probably not. Again, I'd honestly be agreeance with you that most people, at least half, have Netflix or some sort of subscription like that. I think the bigger issue is that it's not being.
advertised i completely right like i like hold it that there is a game tonight and it's at the field of dreams like i just had no like idea i knew it was coming at some point this month no idea was tonight well i think it's smaller than we think the people that have netflix i hear this all the time when there's something like this It seems like, you know, there are people that are shut out from this that are real, they're older baseball fans, one way or the other, they probably don't have it. I don't know what the penetration of Netflix is, but putting it on something paid when you're blending into nostalgia like this, making it special along those lines. That's, I don't care what they, you know. And the other thing is, who does the commentary tonight then? Are we going to have Barry Bonds, nostalgically coming down to the steroid era again? That woman that was doing the, L whatever, was doing the commentary around Field of Dreams, if you're going to go nostalgic and all that, making a buck off it in this manner is a little bit too much. So Matt Besgursion will be on the call tonight. L. Duncan will be in the studio. Of course. Lawrence Shahadi will be on the, you know, recording from the dugouts. And then you call it, Barry Bonds. Wait a minute. I couldn't predict this in a million years. They're going to have nostalgia and baseball with this creep again today. Although, I'm fair. He did a great commentary on a home run derby. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's what they're going for with him. He just can't do it. You cannot normalize what this guy did. He can't ignore it either. Well, you cannot recognize it. You can turn your back on it. I mean, I think you have a right to say, we did a whole show. Side question on that. Things that we don't accept. We don't accept this record. Well, we. Oh, do you? Do you? I do. It happened. Okay, I'm sorry. Like, as much as it, you know, he disgraced the game, him, McGuire, Sosa, as much as they, you know, they disgraced the game with, you know, cheating still happened. Okay, well, if it were unclear even a bit, then I'd have to back off and say, what are going to do? I just think it's funny, like, in that regard, because there are people who did Starwoods that are in the Hall of Fame, you know. Okay, well, but that doesn't mean something where we have, if we have the evidence on them, I would take them out. I mean, I think O.J. Simpson got taken out of one Hall of Fame. I'm not sure that murdering someone should be you get out of Hall of Fame or not. There's some kind of form in there. I think it's more cheating that does it because you force other people to cheat that or pressure them to do it. All right. So should Barry Bonds be doing the commentary tonight? With Hunter Pence. Former Philly. Okay. How about Wolfram? No, Kevin Costner's actually got a special. I mean, is he actually going to say, let's go back to those days when I played Little League? And I said, next, why Barry Bonds out of everybody out there? What in the world is their drive do we know to put Barry Bonds in there? He's articulate. He was good. But you're normalizing something. Look, I wish you would just go away. I never would talk about Barry Bonds again. I get it.
But you can't normalize that. I don't see how you can. I think it's because he's a personality. Okay. And I know his personality tends to clash with a lot of classic, you know, baseball minds and people. And I think that's also a reason he's not in the Hall of Fame because he's not really a nice person. Right. He's not. So I think they're going for more of a, I don't want to say a shock jock factor, but like it is shocking to see him out there. And, okay, the home run derby is bad enough. This is sacred, is it not, though? This myth that. Cornfield, the whole thing. Stop in Major League Baseball. You're even more fraudulent. Isn't there something that's different than just the usual business? Are you saying the game itself is fraudulent or it's fraudulent that he's on the game? I'm saying putting it on Netflix and putting Barry Bonds on tarnishes what is supposed to be out, I'll use the words, a sweet night of people remembering. That's what Field of Dreams is about. It tarnishes the whole thing. Yeah, I'd say, I'd say, Putting it on Netflix tarnishes it more than having Barry. Probably, yeah, yeah. But you see the baggage where Netflix goes. Shouldn't Netflix be told, yo, you got to have more of a, you know, back in the day sort of thing going on here, not Barry Bonds with us. And the Duncan woman is just... I don't disagree with you, the more throwback kind of style to it. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I mean, it's John Cornyn, but is... Well, Vince Kelly's not a lot. You know, I'm going with something like that. Yeah. Doesn't that fit the vibe of the game? That's why it's special. That's why we love baseball. Which, I'm not a big fan of baseball, I admit. I mean, it's... And when we get into the playoffs and get into that, I get it. But day to day and all that, how can it compare to football or basketball? It just cannot. All right, shocking here. Henry on the beaches and I'm on baseball today. What could happen next? Who will be dating Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Zenos is on deck with Zenos take her to a diner. Okay, 855, 839, 12, 10. Tom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT. All right, welcome in, everyone. Dom time, 8585-839-1210. You get on board AT&T and Verizon Wireless. All you have to do is just push pound 1210. A little broader point, and it's kind of late before the midterms. I've made this point before. And I have to call out Trump, I think it's him on this, president, and his administration, on affordability, or just the right thing, a thing that resonates with people. It's not a small thing. Are these outrageous prices that have to be paid, particularly when you go with the secondary market, that kind of thing. The Sixers prices are going to be amazing, and I get it. They brought in LeBron James, they're a hot product and all that, capitalism. But is it capitalism? When Liggs get away with various things, and in the case of Live Nation with the concert market, Dave Sunday is still on him. The Trump administration let him get away with it. and just won away from how they monopolize. They have the venues, as I understand it. They can jack up prices again, and people care about this. And they also care when stinking major league baseball starts to model themselves after the NFL, and they put the, I don't care if it's 8 to 10% of people that don't have Netflix, and I think it's higher. And many times, They may not have it. I mean, I listen to WIP, a guy calling in, I think it was his grandfather, is in a nursing home, and they're not going to have Netflix, and they live for baseball. 88 million U.S. Netflix user, Henry says, okay, that's pretty good market penetration, without a doubt. But I just think that what baseball is starting to do, Well, I'm opposed to them doing the salary cap too, but that's another day. We'll talk about that. Is what the NFL does by putting games on where what was it last year, thousands of dollars, if you wanted to watch any number of games, you'd have to have Peacock and you'd have to have a bunch of other things. It just continues. And they get away with murder.
when it comes to various things that might be ticklish for them as far as monopolies, antitrust, and all that. But when you have the Trump administration cave, and they cave on TikTok too is another example, these are things that I think Republican Party would do well to be on the right side of it to push for this and to try to champion it. And it seems to be, oh, that's frivolous. If you don't watch a game, okay, continue to say that. Just the complications people have with Apple TV, Major League Baseball doing this stuff. Again, you can do whatever you want, but you're not truly capitalist. That's the point. This stuff is not. It's a mismatch of all kinds of things. So if you want to do it, as the NFL does, okay, then let's go by the black letter of the law, meaning just the words himself, the laws that might be involved, and I would go after them. If you don't, they're going to continue to abuse their customer base. People want it. So is it being on Netflix tonight? Plus, I just don't like the whole vibe of it. I think it's climbing on to something, I don't know if I want to call Field of Dreams, and the whole mythology on baseball is sacred. But if not sacred, it's something that should be respected more. Isn't it Henry? Isn't that why it's a big night? Oh, we're playing the Field of Dreams. If it's not, it's not, just do whatever the hell you want. Yeah, I do think the, you know, the mystique of the movie. Yes. Yeah, it all kind of helps. And yeah, the romanticism of baseball. Yeah, definitely. Exactly. So if you want that, do not have people saying, oh, well, where is it? I'm looking here. It must be, how many years is Netflix? I don't remember Netflix doing it. What would they put it on? I don't know. Is it Fox? Is the baseball channel maybe? Yeah. Yeah, I'd say so. Yeah. Fox, TBS, whatever I do. Yeah, and are the networks not interested? That's not a draw. They put WNBA basketball on ABC, I think at various points. No, I think Netflix put up a lot, a lot, a lot of money that everyone else is like, all right, if you're going to put up that much, then we're out. I don't care. Okay. All right. So I just don't want to hear about the romance of baseball and all that, do whatever you want. But if you want to do that, then we're coming after you. We're coming after you on every little thing you engage in. Let's go to Zenos, who is plotting the diner he would take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to in Upper Darby. Hey, yeah, Zinos, come on now. I know you would date Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, right? You would tell her about Greek legendary heroes. Well, first, Tom, we've got to start with the first legendary hero will be you, the Spartan King, Egemenon. There you go. I think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would be a trance. Tell me more. Yes. That would be your new name, Dom. You know, you'd be called Michael. We're not going to call you to Egemenon, the Spartan King of 4,000 years ago. I should have M. Recallon call the Heritage Foundation back and say, Mike Gonzalez, you're due to be round two with the Dom Giordano show. See what he says.
And we got Henry, who would be one of the Greek heroes, too. He could be Ajax. All right. He was one of the Greek heroes of Troy. Stronger than Greece? Now, with Miss ASS, she is, yes, you know, Robert had the best idea. For me to date her, I would date her, and I would take her to the best one. So he's got the tape. I got the ear plugs, and maybe Kurt could put the sunglasses on it, and I could take her any wrist or one that she wants to. There you go. There you go. I'm down. All right. We need to now have a dating pattern for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez here in Philadelphia to see what comes up. Well, that was my dating parent because, no, there would be no really way for her because she would bore me to death. She would bore me to death because that's all she'll be talking at. socialist stuff with her and CCB. You know who he is? CCB? Crazy communist Bernie. That's what she will be talking about. Hey, excuse me, Zenos, I have to step away from the table. It's a call from Bernie here. I can see your response. Good old C.CB. My side answer, Dom, I know it was a little long-winded. It started out around, a little around doing the first World War with the American Jeep. and was in the Second World War, and look at it today, it's still going strong. It won the second. There are books that say the Jeep won the Second World War. That's a bit over the top, but that was the title of documentaries, too. I'm not sure if that's possible, but they do have a Patriot Jeep. 855, 839, 12, 10, it is the lightning round, something that was wildly popular. And even after it cooled off, it still had tremendous staying power. Person and place, we haven't got too many people. Hit us with that. 855, 839, 1210. Tom Chiodano on Talk Radio 1210, WPHD. The time has come for the final test. We usually call us the lightning round. Oh, man, a little bit of trouble before we go to the lightning round. On Twitter, great comment. The Phillies are headed to a cornfield with the same level of excitement that Joe Pesci's character had in Casino. It doesn't exactly seem to be exciting because it's like a one-day trip to Iowa and the whole thing at all. I think they went there once before. I pretty much remember them cheering on or was that... Williamsport, they were there. They played the Little League World Series game a few years back. Okay. All right. That's what it was. So maybe it's not as exciting to players in a grind of 162 games to go there and do this. It is out of the way. Yeah, let's think. If you're going to play the game, it's usually two Midwestern teams. And I believe, because they're playing the twins. So I'd imagine that they're going to go finish the series in Minnesota. So it shouldn't be too bad of a travel day. All right, storyline tomorrow, though. We're going to be all over this. Ed L. Duncan, even more than Barry Bonds, is just what... How did sports get to this level? All right, and by tomorrow, I think we'll know who's dating Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Zinos, I know would do it. He's got it in him. Let's go to Drew in Upper Darby on Talk Radio 12, Dan. Hey, Drew. Hey, hey, Dom. Thanks a lot, man. Appreciate it. You know, Dom...
Just like in professional sports, Hollywood has their dominators and their compilers. Yeah, for example, this actor, in his short, in his short, brilliant career, I think he only, I think he only made four movies. And every one of these movies, was a blockbuster great hit. You know, his name is John Cazale, aka Fredo. Every movie, Dog Day Afternoon, The Godfather, The Deer Hunter, and his other movie that people don't really know about was a brilliant movie with Gene Hackman called The Conversation. Well, wait a minute. How about Dog Day? Dog Day Afternoon. Yeah, it's all day afternoon. And the other movie people don't know about is called The Conversation. And his name still lives on, Fredo, even until today. John Cazale. That is a great one. And we have to work that into Talk Radio, too. Somebody who is truly great and someone who's just a compiler, inching along, you know, they play forever in sports. The Harold Baines. Yeah, the Harold Baines of politics or something like that. Yeah. Fredo is an unbelievable character. Just think of some of the lines from that. Michael in Wilmington, Talk Radio 1210. Hey, Michael. Hey, Don, my good sir, how are you today? Very good. Or should I say, hey, Mike, how are you today? I mean, that's out of the blue. The Don thing we know all the time, but the Mike stuff, what a day. We're going to play with this forever. That guy will never forget that. I'm going to get him on in an interview next week to see what he says. Don't tell him my name when you call him. Say 1210, just a host. Let's see what he says. Oh, man. God, that was unbelievable. But, Dom, getting to my side, I think, First, second one that came to mind for me was Disneyland or Disney World. One of the most popular, you know, tourist attractions for families, I think it's what, the 50s or 60s, had a little bit of a slowdown there with all the DEI and COVID and has come roaring back to life. And as, as you know, has a cult following. I mean, everybody wants to go to Disney World all the time. Yeah, I think there are people that I do know. You may know some, too, that go every year. I don't know how you can do that. Yeah. It is stunning. Every year. You're right. That's a good one. Thanks, Michael. See that woman who got a band from, like, interacting with Peter Pan now because she's been stalking them for like 10 years at the heart of the clap. And it's, again, you know what, where I'm going to go? It's like Halloween adults taken over from kids. It should be more of a kids thing. That's where I tend to agree with you on the Disney adults. Joe and Exton, Talk Radio 1210. Hey, Joe.
Yes, hello, Dom, and good afternoon. My phenomenon that promises staying power is law and order. Societies seeking stability are built upon a system of laws. A hallmark of this behavior is Moses and the Ten Commandments. on which All right. Thank you, Joe. I thought he was going with Law and Order as a TV show, which has had tremendous power. And we shifted to Moses, which is, okay. This was a good side question. It had a lot of nooks and crannies. What do you say, Kirk? I'm going to go with Robert from Ben Sailing with Blue Jeans. Yeah, Jeans was a good one. Yeah, that was one of the stronger calls. A lot of good calls today. So, yeah, John Roberts, for sure. I like Lance Southfield with the bicycle, and I like Michael and Wilming's with Disney. Okay, let's go with the blue jeans out. Yes, and I like that throwing me in at the end. And I have a special thanks to Mike Gonzalez over at the Heritage Foundation. Mike, thank you very much for calling me your name. The first time he did it, I thought I wasn't hearing it. Now, my policy, I'm not going to correct it ever. All right. Coming up. Mike Opelka, another Mike, is on for three big hours. All that on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. Tom Giudano, weekdays, noon till three. From Talk Radio 1210, WPHD.
