Breaking it up on this Friday for WCCO TV's chief meteorologist Chris Schaefer is forecast. Brought to you by Washburn McCreevy funeral cremation and pre-planning services. I'm guessing you're doing air guitar. Of course, of course. And I picture them in their painted faces. And hey, I got to thank Gracie for solving the mystery in my mind. When I leave work from downtown, oftentimes I scoot across and go by U.S. Bank Stadium before I get on the highway. And whenever I see the semis lined up, I'm like, all right, who's coming to town? It's not Somerslam. That was a couple weeks back. And then Ed Shearin. I forgot that he's going to be in concert tomorrow. So he must be doing a bigger show because there's a lot of semi-trucks that have been lined up the past couple of days there. So ready to rock. Ready to rock. And we want a good weekend. These weekends, summer weekends are starting to disappear here as we get closer to Labor Day. So you want to make the most of it every weekend. Yeah, and I think this one's, we'll call it not bad, certainly. I mean, we need some rainfall around here. We got the latest drought update yesterday, and it's not brutal, but it's trending in the wrong direction. Basically, moderate drought category jumped up by about 5%. The severe drought was the 11% gain, and some of that is around the Twin Cities. Now, you probably notice that locally, like... Your yard, if you haven't been watering it in some form, it's probably a nice golden shade as the grass has gone dormant. And there's just not a lot of rain in the forecast, but that's good from a pedestrian standpoint for this weekend. Today, for the most part, we'll be dry, mostly cloudy. If there's any isolated showers, they'll pop likely this evening and very isolated. Most will stay dry. You might catch a quick sprinkle. 84 will be the afternoon high. You'll notice the wind picking up a bit in the afternoon as well. You'll also notice it's starting to get a bit. more humid by this afternoon. Any showers overnight tonight again, very isolated. And then tomorrow we'll have possibly two rounds of rain. There could be some scattered showers in the morning. And then I think we're dry for a good chunk of the day with a high around 81. It is going to be muggy out there. And then some more showers likely pop with the frontal boundary coming through. I would say late afternoon into the evening hours. scattered again. I wouldn't cancel any plans. I don't see any severe threat. Sunday is the nicer weekend day, partly cloudy with a high around 82, less humid. It stays very comfortable and nice Monday and Tuesday. Maybe we catch some rain later next Tuesday. Otherwise, it's a very dry forecast, but comfortable for any weekend plans that you have. Comfortable, it sounds really good because it's been, you know, we've had some weekends where it's like, wow, this is hot. Yeah, we're basically approaching the halfway point of the month here. And I was looking how we've had highs in the 70s on two of those days. No 90s. Remember last month it was every day it seemed we're in the 90s. We've been just kind of hovering above average, mid to upper 80s pretty much every August day and only measurable rain on two of them. And even then it was a pretty puny amount. So we could use some more. Get big plans for the weekend?

going golfing today, which would be nice. Nice. And the rest of the weekend just kind of, you know. It's a coin toss. I'll probably do a balance of some yard work and some fun, too. We'll see. I hope the humidity drops on Sunday. I'd like to get the motorcycle out. Oh, yes. Get some cruising in. How about you? What are you knocking now? You know what? We have two other couples. We hang out with a lot. And we each have a weekend where we go to our hometowns and show the other people, our hometowns. We went to Mitchell, South Dakota a couple of years ago to one of my friends. Corpal Palace. Yes, yes. We had a lot of fun. So this weekend, we're going to be me. to my friend Sherry's hometown. So looking forward to that. I'm hoping we got a boat tomorrow, Pantoon. I'm hoping the rain holds off at least for the afternoon. Oh, Bemidji is such an awesome town. I've said it before. I could live up there. It's really, really charming. I love it. I know. There's so many great towns. Everybody has a really good town. I mean, I grew up in a suburb in Kansas. I'm kind of embarrassed to have to take them to my generic suburb. But everybody else is a good road trip, though. You got Kansas City. You got all sorts of good stuff down there. Yeah. It's true. That's true. It'll be fun. It'll be good. Thanks so much, Chris. Have a good weekend. Okay. Enjoy. WCCOTV's chief meteorologist, Chris Schaefer. It's 739.
