Anaheimwhitehouse.com. Okay. So what happened yesterday? Well, there was a visit from two cabinet members, secretaries, who came to L.A. For the sole purpose of blasting LAHSA, Los Angeles Housing Authority, humans, and bottom line is they came here to not only blast this organization, they came to tell us why ain't going to get any more money from the feds. $240 million, I might add. And there is a couple of federal judgments that have come in from judges, which I'll talk about in a few minutes. So HUD suspends $240 million due August 26 from the Housing Authority. And does it go? Does it disappear? It really doesn't.

Because what it does is force the providers of that service or those services that are controlled and they're accountable to the organization, L.A.HSA, that department, and says, we're not going to give L.AHA $240 million. You want that money? We're willing to give it to you, but you, whatever organization you are, have to apply directly to the federal government. We want to see what you're doing at the organization level, not this housing authority, which does a horrible job, and the corruption and the mismanagement is astronomical. You know, is there some truth of that? Yeah, I think so. So this was a press conference yesterday. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary, Scott Turner, and then Health and Human Services, Secretary Crazy Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. I mean, they ripped into the LA Homeless Services Authority. And Turner said, our aim is that Lassa doesn't receive another dollar until it has accountability. He was... Oh, God, I love the way this administration does this. He was framed by American flags, and there were jumbo TV screens behind him blaring the words, cancel corruption. Oh, yeah. And... As an example, the money that was wasted by Lassa's lack of controls, financial controls, Turner cites the recent federal indictment alleging a homeless services provider fleece the system of $23 million in fraudulent billings. I want you to note something before I take a break and I'll come back and finish this before Dr. Keeney comes aboard is that the organizations that are accused of mismanagement and fraud are all in blue states. They're all run by what the Trump administration considers liberal groups. You won't see accusation of mismanagement and corruption in red states or in the military, $800 billion, and there is no corruption in the military. It's only these agencies that are in blue states. Does that mean that the administration is wrong? No, there's all kinds of problems with agencies like this because it's not their money, especially on the agency level. Now, the providers themselves, yeah, it's their money because they want to stay alive because they provide services. And for the most part, they're run by people who really care. They're not in for the money. You don't see, well, there's some people that, you know, milk these organizations for money and are thieves and corruption rampant. But for the most part, you know, they actually care. And that's what they're in it for. You've got two cabinet members that came to town. Department of Housing, Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, Health and Human Services, Secretary, the insane Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ripping into the Los Angeles homelessness.

service authority or homeless service authority, saying that the agency is just ridden with management and abuse and just straight corruption. And the bottom line, it had to do with $240 million that lawsuit was supposed to get, August 26. And Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Turner said, nope, you're not getting it because there's no accountability. And we're going to send the money directly if applied for by the agencies that supply the services. The homeless authority doesn't actually supply the services. They contract with providers. Okay, so with that, lawsuits were filed all over the place and a couple of judges halted, money not being paid, particularly it was Rhode Island. Here it hasn't happened yet. And when asked about the lawsuit, by the way, we're talking about the Rhode Island lawsuit blocking their funding shift. During questioning, this is at a press conference, Turner said, we're working on that right now. All right, because there's obviously a lot of controversy. As I pointed out earlier, the organizations that are corrupt mismanagement that don't have accountability are only in blue states, as you know. There's no such thing as corruption in red states. It doesn't exist. And certainly in the military, that doesn't exist. And so here is the fun one. All right. Turner. reaches down from behind the lectern, and he pulls out a bag, a brown paper bag, and he said, I learned they're giving our homeless neighbors. This is what they're giving our homeless neighbors with American taxpayer dollars, which he's talking about the agency. This is drug paraphernalia that's in this bag. This brown bag is handed to people, homeless people who are addicted to drugs. And then he reaches into the bag and takes out a sandwich. Oh, no, that wrong bag. That's not what I wanted to give you. So instead, he takes out this drug paraphernalia. Proof positive that the entire agency is riddled with corruption. God, I love that. For example, a horrible killing takes place by an illegal alien that crosses the border. Now, how about American citizens that don't have to cross the border that also commit horrible crimes? Well, what can you do? Deport them? No. And so he's a drug paraphernalia discovered in a bag that... has been picked up by authorities. By the way, how about money and brown bags that are going to, let's say, gang people from, you've got federal employees that are full of cash? Are you really going to defend lots of?

No, what I'm doing is I'm ripping into what the feds are using for examples. There should be many more. There should be accountability. No, no. And I agree with the, the government is not shutting off the money. The government is saying, we want providers, specific providers, to come up with a plan. Oh, no, Loss is crazy. I mean, it's full of corruption. I'm convinced of that. The other thing that I have a problem with. is that Turner and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. both endorse faith-based recovery programs over the alternatives preferred by the administration. And they had his press conference at L.A. Dream Center, a former hospital, converted into a faith-based residential treatment center, and saying this is an example of the type of program we want. a much more effective solution. Now, I have a problem, and I'll tell you why I have a problem. It's not because I'm not a Christian. That doesn't bother me, obviously. But the whole concept of what works are faith-based program, and they do. But how about other programs that work? I mean, are we working on the concept we are a Christian nation? And the reality is we're not. We're a Jewish nation. We're a Muslim nation. We are a nation of other religions. Baha'i. That's what we are. And I would love for them not to have put a center in front of a faith-based. By the way, faith-based is Christian, straight out. There's no question about it. And this is where the government is getting involved. And why would they do this in front of a religious organization that's based in religion? That's like the government announcing programs from Brigham Young University about universities all over the country. How about a state university? You weren't complaining nor was anybody else when that dream, that same dream center was at the pinnacle of helping out during the fire. No, I'm not arguing. I am not arguing. But the problem is, is that these are examples of success. And I just, I personally, well, I'm a big, big believer of separation of church and state, huge believer, that the state has no business getting involved with religion under any circumstances at all. And that's the problem that I have. I always have, and I just want to point that out. That was just an aside, just a personal, just a personal view. But as you successfully point out, Neil, as you do point out, and you're right, is that Lhasa is not a great organization. We just don't deal with homeless particularly well.

And by the way, if these agencies are going to, if they're going to request funds, if they're going to apply for funds directly to the federal government, what kind of oversight is that going to be? The feds are going to oversee, for example, a drug treatment center that's out in Pekoyma. Who's going to do that? You know, what bureaucracy is going to do that? Do you think that just increases exponentially the account of the number of people and establishing new bureaucracy measures to deal with this and deal with accountability? I mean, there's no easy answer here. And am I coming up with an answer? Well, yeah, give me the money. I'll come up with something. Why not? Okay. So much for that. Dr. Jim Keeney, Chief Medical Officer for Dignity St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and also a board certified ER doctor. Jim, good morning and always thank you for being here. Morning, Bill. Okay, see, that's your turn. Good morning, and then you say good morning back. I've always wondered about that. All right, a couple days ago, was it yesterday? No, a couple days ago, the president came out with his new vaccine guidance. And what he said to me sounded absolutely stupid on a level that is either the same or approaches his comments when COVID first came out. And he suggested using bleach, injecting bleach into your body to deal with COVID. And I thought that was a brilliant idea. And now the vaccine guidance and specifically splitting up the MMR vaccine into three different shots and at different times. And even Bill Cassidy, who is the senator from Kentucky who just went out of his mind saying this is crazy. Your thoughts. Yeah, I mean, I don't know who goes to the president of the United States for medical advice. It's just, it's a weird dynamic, right? We usually, for the tried and true way that health care has been done now for decades is that we ask scientists questions. They do studies. We get answers. Sometimes the answers are right. Sometimes the answers are wrong, but they're kind of the best possible source for, you know, how we're going to approach things. So the idea that the president is just going to unilaterally make a new plan for how we give vaccines. There's so many problems with this. We can talk about it for hours. But I mean, timing for childhood vaccines is heavily researched. A lot of times you're fighting against time, right? So whooping cough, for example, it's very dangerous in the first few months of life. That's where it's most critical. You know, if you get it when you're a teenager,

It's very annoying. It could take you out of school for a long period of time. It lasts a while, but it's probably not as life-threatening as if you get it in the first one or two months of life. So when we give the vaccine, the timing is created to try and reduce the highest risk. So that's why we're giving it so early, and that's why it's there. Same thing with homophilous influenza. We've talked about that one before. It's not flu. This is a different, totally different disease. and it's the HIV vaccine. And that one, the timing is important because of when kids get sick and when they're more critically ill if they do get sick. So just randomly saying we're going to spread these out, we're going to divide them up. Then there's the dividing up issue. That's a whole other problem. You know, it's hard to get parents and kids into the doctor's office. Creating multiple visits are creating multiple failure points. you know, where suddenly, oh, we forgot, you know, Johnny has a soccer game this afternoon. And so we'll reschedule that doctor's appointment. And then it never gets rescheduled. So we do know. And there's good data that the more you, the more inconvenient you make it, the more you break up the vaccination schedule, the less people comply with it. Okay. So it's Trump not just being Trump and giving medical advice. This is straight out dangerous stuff. This is certainly, and where does he get this information? I don't know. And then, of course, he brought up the old saw autism. Vaccines means autism. And he came up with one example, I think, of someone he had met where the kid got vaccinated and somehow was connected to or got also got autism. When does that stop? And that's not a political question. Is there anybody out there in the scientific world that does the connection? Because I know there was one and the doctor was, he lost his medical license and it was completely debunked. Are there others out there that are promoting this connection, autism and vaccines? Well, I mean, doctors are like, are a cross-section of society. So if there are people in society who have more of a philosophical belief about this and they're not basing it on science, then there's going to be doctors like that as well. So you're going to find doctors probably who might still believe. But they're, they're extremely rare. You know, like. When we talked about mandating the flu shot, so, you know, we get rated by a center for Medicare and Medicaid on what percentage of our doctors are vaccinated against the flu because they recognize that to protect the American health system, if there was an outbreak, we need our doctors that work in hospitals to be vaccinated against the flu, so they don't get taken down by it. And so we talked at one of my hospitals about. about mandating it for our doctors because it was never mandated before. And there were, on a medical staff of 900 people, there were two that were adamant that influenza vaccine is not helpful. But the other 898 thought that, you know, science rules. So you'll always find those people. I mean, there's just no way around it.

And it's been proven. I mean, it's been as close to proven as, you know, scientists are very reluctant to say something's proven, but it's been shown by extensive studies over decades now. Okay, let's do this. We'll take a final break. We'll come back. And I have a story about Will, Will Coltsriver. And a medical issue. I know you're looking at me, Will, strangely, but there is a connection here. So we're going to bring you to the forefront here. And as I segue into this next segment, as promised, when I went into our break, this is for you, Will, because there's going to be medical advice here. Okay. And you are the poster child of this. And here it is. Okay. Abdominal fat. That's you. Heart disease, maybe you, and determining, predicting risk for heart disease. Jim, would you like to point that out? Tell us about it and point to Will, if you will? Don't point to Will. Yeah, I don't know how you get people to work on this show. I don't get it either. And it's not like they do it for the money either. This is I-heart. But, yeah, so we've talked about this before that abdominal fat is it's not the same as other fat in your body. It's metabolically active. It's hormonally active. It's inflammatory. So abdominal fat is more dangerous for your health than overall, you know, extra weight. And so this study, though, is good because this was a 260,000 patient study. That's huge. Followed them for 20 years. So this is good data. It's still observational study, meaning that we're just, you know, seeing what happens. It's not an intervention or, you know, like a randomized control trial. It's just observational. But what it shows is that more important than your actual weight or your BMI is your waist size and especially your waist to hip ratio. So good news for, you know, people with those big booties that don't have a large stomach, right? What you're measuring is your stomach, your waist right above your hips. And if that is a lot bigger than your hips or right below, you know, where your buttocks are the largest area around your buttocks, then that's a problem. And that means that you have some highly metabolically active inflammatory and hormonally active fat in there, adipose tissue that's going to put you at a much higher risk for heart disease. And even when they look at... Either people with normal BMIs, but this is abnormal, they're at higher risk. People that have high BMIs, but this is in the safe range, they're actually safer than we think. So this is a better indicator. It costs like five cents for a for a tape measure. It's a, you know, no fancy test. Yeah, well, here's. Okay, here's a question. I'm going to get personal here. I have reached normal weight. I've been losing weight, and I'm 170 pounds, which is basically normal weight for someone in my height, although I've, you know, I used to be 6'1. I'm now 5.3. You tend to shrink a little bit. And so I'm normal weight. I have a 34-inch waist. I haven't had a 34-inch waist, by the way, since I was three years old. But I have fat around my stomach, even with a normal weight.

And I'm assuming that there are people like me that just can't get rid of it. I mean, it's just part and parcel. And I have no ass, by the way. You know, when I lost all my weight, I lost all my weight in my ass. Matter of fact, flutters in a good win. You can put it painted with American flag colors. And it just. Your entire body has assumed you. You are 100% ass now. Thank you. So, Jim, you know, so I know a lot of people that have this problem, especially guys. where they just can't get rid of the fatty even with a normal weight. And so I go to you and say, what do I do? Am I in trouble? And what can I do? Right. I mean, well, we all live in this lifestyle where we go to work 40 hours a week or maybe more. You come home with a lack of energy to really put a lot of effort into exercise and working out. And then we eat this American diet that's high in highly processed foods. And we expect that somehow we're not going to have risk for heart disease. And it's just not true. So while I admit, it's extremely hard to. to get, for some people, to get rid of that, the environment we live in just sets us up for failure. So, you know, you've got to change something if you want to be in the better category where you're going to actually do this. Now, listen, a secondary measurement in this study, which is kind of interesting, is your height, 50% of your height, and your waste should be smaller than that. Now, above 40 inches of a waste is high risk. no matter what your height is, pretty much. But, you know, say you're six feet tall, what is that, says 72, right? So half of 72 is 36. Yeah. So you should be 36 inch waist if you're six feet tall. Yeah, and that's me, but I still have fat around my stomach, and that still means I'm going to die of a heart attack next week, right? No, not necessarily because like I said, this is a secondary marker and you seem to be in the safe zone for that particular one. Now, ideally, the one that is closer indicated to a risk for heart disease. And remember, heart disease is one of the number one killers. So we're all at a pretty high risk for heart disease. So you're not going to reduce it to zero. On the other hand, you know, you do the best you can to get to that measurement. And we know that... If you are in that zone, well, now we have to really focus on doing it whatever we can to reduce your other heart risk. Make sure that your blood sugar is under control, that you're getting exercise, all those type of things. All right, Jim, as always, thank you, sir. We'll talk again.
