54 segmentsEverything about everything. Chuck McKee. Just ask him. He'll tell you. He'll say, yeah, I know what they. No. Sometimes we stump Chuck, but not very often. Not very. One time, I think, we've stumped Chuck. What is that? Whatever you want to call it? Whatever you call it a dent. Man Cave. Man Cave. That's what I'm looking for. Man Cave. Man Cave. Yeah, man cave. That's a good idea. Big screen TV, you know. So what's it worth? That's your question in this morning, I'm sure, because that is the question every Thursday morning at 935. Hey, Jack. How you doing? Doing good. Good. Running and doing and staying busy. Selling real estate right and left. Doing the real estate right now. Yeah, we've got a lot of properties going on. We've got, you know, up on the website right now is the property on Oakwood, which is over there off of Georgetown Road. In fact, we did an estate right across from that neighborhood a few years ago, a little house that sat back up there right before you get to the school. Well, actually not a little one, a pretty decent size one. But we did that estate over there a while ago. And I've been doing it a while now. Now I drive through areas. And it's like, oh, yeah, we did one at that house. And oh, yeah, we sold that house. And yeah, it's, oh, yeah, we did one on that street. And we, you know, we, we, we sell for somewhere around 300, 350 people a year. So we, we cover a lot of ground. And that goes now 26 years. So do the math. It's, it's a lot. But the house on Oakwood, and that is not this weekend, but next weekends. He's still got time to go over and check it out. And then we come back right after Labor Day. We'll do this house in Belcourt, which is... Nicholasville. Yes, exactly. Belcourt and Nicholasville, right? And really cool home. I really hope people check it out if they're interested in anything down there just because... It sure is pretty. Like I said, when you walk through the pictures on it, and you can go to our website, we've got some really nice pictures of it, that... It's really pretty stunning, you know, all the details on it. You pointed out last week because there are some sort of modern things on the outside and makes one think that it's not as old as it actually is. It reminds me a little bit of my grandparents' house because a lot of times people come back on those older homes and they'll put up modern siting. And so when you get into historic standards and everything for real estate and properties and old properties, the size of the siting changes over time. And things like that. And you don't catch it. You'd never sit there and go, oh, well, that's a four inch studying, not a five inch reveal. And I mean, you wouldn't think of that consciously. But in your brain. you know, we're wired to see those things. And so you see it and it looks like a more modern home. And then you go in it and realize it has all the old, you know, plank flooring and these beautiful fireplaces. I think it has six or something like that. I mean, it's just several fireplaces. And I don't want to, yeah, six. Yeah, fireplaces. What's the square footage? Uh, I'll top of my head. I don't have it when it's on the, on the sheet. But it's a big two story. Oh, yeah, big house. And so you go into those homes and, you know, and then we go in, of course, then we take all the personal property. We just finished selling that. And you get the carpets up in a lot of these homes. The one we just did on Darley the same way that you pull up the carpet and there's all that beautiful original hardwood. And so on this one, she had a lot of it exposed. But you've got the big, you know, 8, 10 inch moldings and, you know, all that cool stuff. Yeah. And yes, I think that the exterior photo of this one kind of. belize that a little bit in that. Tell a really pretty house. It's gorgeous. It's perfectly fine on the outside, but it's, but, but, you know, it's got a modern asphalt roof, which is good, right? I mean, that's, and these are the improvements you make because that's a whole lot less maintenance and a whole lot, you know, better against the elements and, and, and so you do those things, but then you walk in and you, oh, my goodness, you know, this is this really cool house. And so those are up. And then schedule wise, we're, um, Our sale weekend would normally be this next weekend, but we're actually holding off because, and I'll go ahead and announce that we don't even have it on the website yet, but we're putting it together. End of September, we will be doing some major events and starting into our fall schedule, and we're going to open that weekend of the 27th with items from the Gentry State out of Woodford County and the Whitney Hendrickson Estate, Ms. Mary Lou Whitney and.
Healy Whitney Museum and all that. We're going to have some items from that. That's huge. Yeah, they've had different things in the collection. And so we're doing a section of that. And then, and we're going to have some other really cool things with it. I've added a couple of other people that I think that have the kind of things that people would be interested in in that kind of an event. And we're going to see where our accounts go. It may be a two-day thing. It may end up being two days. And so there's going to be some cool stuff there. So we're going to try to get all that ready between now Labor Day and then come back. So we'll have a very, very busy September. So we'll load the auction for mid-September, probably the end of this week, and have it up. and then load up the Whitney sale there right around Labor Day and have, and start in. And we've got some beautiful things that have come in that we're going to be doing, you know, all through the fall. That's really exciting. We've been so busy with the real estate, and then we timed around that date as an anchor date. And so we're working, you know, the auction schedule is following around it. And then we've been so busy with all the real estate that we decided just to do it that way. So. that'll give us time to get some things done we've still got you know the property on like side we just sold and did it did we do it this last Sunday we did do it this last Sunday yeah yeah so it's been since since the show how'd that go did well just under just under a million on the price on that 945. Nice. So, yeah, very happy. So, yeah. But that's, anyway, that's the schedule coming up. But we're going to, it's going to be, and then we get into fall. And fall is always really, really busy for us. We start really trying to get stuff done and people are trying to close their estates before the end of the years and things and, you know, legal entities. And so we'll be selling hard until Christmas. Good. Good. Well, I can't wait to hear about the Mary Lou Whitney stuff that you're going to be. We've got some cool things. And I say, we're just going to do a broader event. We're going to do their things. The gentry estate, the gentry family. Gentry. Very, very well known. Is that Tom? And this one of the gentry families. Yeah. Another one. In the Woodford County. And we're going to put that with it because we think that's just a lot of synergy and very similar items for people. And a few other people that have some things that we just think would make. for that kind of event and the kinds of things people are going to want to find. You know, you want people to find the things they want to find. I want you to find the thing you're looking for at our gallery. So we're going to put some of those in there. We've got some collection of beautiful equine bronzes that I want to add to that. Nice. And some, and I've got beautiful Mark Scarce tulip cups. We talked about those, I think, just a couple of, you know, a few shows ago. Yeah. and some things like that. And so, and a lot of just cool stuff that we're researching. A couple of things we're researching. And in fact, I've got a few items left from the Bentley, which is the Brian Bentley and the Brian family. Yeah. We've actually, we had some firearms of theirs. We had not sold because we were trying to get them all fully provenanced as much as we could. And so we'll have those. So yeah, it's going to be cool. Wow. It's going to be cool upcoming. And that's going to be the last. End of September.
September. Yeah, we'll start putting all that up probably 1st of September. That's going to be a big job. Yeah, so the next week or two, the website's going to be a little sparse. Now, the new website's up, and I hope people go to it and check it out. We put that up. Yeah, that looks nice. Yeah, I'm very pleased with it. And we've got the real estate, the past real estate up. We're going to be working on getting some of the past sales up. We've got to work out the math on the overhead on that because our sales have so many photos and so many things. And you've got to allocate your space. You're overhead for that. But we're going to be adding some of those things, too, so people can browse around. So what's it worth? That's your question in this morning, I'm sure, because that is the question every Thursday morning at 935. And Chuck McKee from Bluegrass Auction Appraisal and Realty is here to answer that question. All you have to do is send us a picture if you can. of whatever you're interested in, that will be a big bless. Or you can just call us, same phone number 859, 253-5959. Good morning to you, Chuck.
