It is Friday, August 14th, finally flipping Friday. Are you ready for the weekend? I certainly hope you are. The... President Trump has endorsed Catalina Lomph in the congressional race here in Florida. He said, oh, wait, by the way, good morning. Welcome to daybreak. I'm your host, Jason Jay Jones, along with Rob C. I always forget it on the first break, Rob, to introduce us and say hello. My apologies, my friend. Every break I get it, the first break for some reason, I want to jump right in. I just want to jump right in and talk about it. All right, let's get to it. President Trump said, quote, It's my great honor to endorse America First Patriot Catalina Lov, who is running to represent the tremendous people of Florida's 19th congressional district. As former presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Commerce in my first administration, Catalina has proven she is the courage and wisdom to deliver strong results for the incredible people of her state and nation. She has truly been with us from the beginning. As your next congresswoman, Catalina, will fight tirelessly to grow our economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote made in the USA, unleash America energy dominance, keep our border secure, stop migrant crime, support our military veterans, advance election and taxes. integrity and defend are always under the siege. Second Amendment. Catalina Lov has my complete and total endorsement to be the next congresswoman from the Florida's 19th congressional district. She will never let you down. Now, with that endorsement, I got...
more policy than I got ever from Catalina Lough. And this is all I want to say. Catalina, if you're listening right now, which I would put money on that you are, I would love to hear you call in and have a one-on-one with me. First and foremost, congratulations on the endorsement of our president, Donald J. Trump. And with that being said, you are more than welcome to 339-479-5592. We have tried many times to approach Catalina to come on the show. We've approached her at the military museum live when we were doing our broadcast live. We've emailed. We've had conversations. I approached her earlier in the campaign, too, and she had scheduled an interview, and they had canceled with 24 hours prior. So now. President Trump with this endorsement, and the reason that I guarantee those that are listening right now from that campaign want to know why they're listening is because one of her opponents and who has been leading in polls is the owner of this radio station, Jim Swartzel, who was on the station just this past Wednesday. And with that, this is what Jim Swartzel's response was. The president endorsed my opponent tonight. you're hearing it from me before you hear it anywhere else a lot of you are angry i've gotten the calls you should know i'm not asking you to be anything other than what you are right now but let's be precise about where the anger belongs Not with President Trump. I've supported him from the beginning, and I'll support him after Tuesday. It belongs with the operation that has worked against us for months. The out-of-state super PACs that have poured millions into his district, the Washington consultants who packed a candidate who ran for Congress twice in Illinois and sold her as a Southwest Florida's choice, and the people seated in a room a thousand miles from here. who are trying to decide this election. They got a piece of paper. They did not get your vote. That is still yours, and you can cast it early or on Tuesday. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Chairman Jim Jordan are with me, and they weren't doing me a favor. They run president's agenda, and they run the president's agenda through the House. They looked at the field, and they picked the man who actually deliver for this district on day one. And here's what no endorsement touches. I was born here. This isn't a seat. I came here to take. There are four days until Election Day. And at every door, every call, and every hand I can shake until the polls close. I'm going to earn and win. See you out there. Jim and Carly Swartzel. You know,
admirable, to say the least, and motivating for the Swartzel campaign nonetheless, and it will undoubtedly have them out there. But, you know, let me say, what does this say, and hear me out, let's say that the Trump endorsement throws a lot of weight into this, and it catapults Catalina Lov into the victory lane. What does it say about Southwest Florida, the climate? Where are we right now in Southwest Florida to let someone from Illinois come down and establish some kind of residency, purchase a home, do whatever they have to do to become a candidate? And all very quickly. And at the same time, get the endorsement. And then if she would win, what does that say about where Southwest Florida is right now, that you allowed somebody from Chicago to come down here and take this seat? You know, I worry about that because that is the bigger thing. And I think what you need to understand is that Jim Swartzel isn't the only one running in this race right now that have roots right here in Southwest Florida. He's not the only one. You have so many others that have actual roots and were born or raised or spent many decades here. And those type of candidates should also be very much wondering. about the future and where our politics are going here in southwest florida that's the thing that worries me the most here i'm not saying that if catalina lof would win the primary that i wouldn't support her in the general i'm always going to be a conservative and stand behind conservatives what i'm saying is what does that say for the temperature of southwest florida It does worry me, Rob. It's something that I constantly have kind of thought about, and now here it is, slamming us in the face with an endorsement. Well, first, I think if we should slow down and just sort of take a quick snapshot of the race right now, right? So all of the most recent polling data, so I'm using the Victory Insights polling data here. And this was fielded between August 4th and 6th of 2026. Jim Schwartzel leads 19.1 percent. Catalina Lauf, 18.9%. So that statistically tied Jim Overweiss in third with 11.7 to 12 percent here. But this is the thing is. It's hard to gauge based on a poll that only has a sample size of 213 likely voters. Now, this was a part of a bigger poll that covered six competitive congressional districts and 213 respondents of those were voters that were in 19. So.
When you're sitting stopped at an intersection on Daniels Parkway, you will have more than 200 cars pass you in a single cycle. We're not talking about a big sample size here. And it wasn't the jaded poll that got her the endorsement. But I think people should know the information, though. And maybe it was a favor. Someone called it in. And who called it in? It's hard to tell. And I could be wrong. That's speculation. Let me track that back. If the president thinks that's what he believes, then that's what he believes. What I worry about is the temperament of Southwest Florida, and that is the real bigger issue right here. And I don't believe that it's that poll that got her the endorsement. And I don't believe that she came. I mean, we could really get deep into it. I only got about another minute. Go ahead. You're on the air, John, from Fort Myers. You got about 35, 40 seconds. Go. Well, I'm on a similar page to you guys that I'm wondering where President Trump's endorsement came from. I don't think it's really a study of the facts. I think he basically made a blind endorsement, and that scares me about Trump endorsements in the future. You know what? He brings up a valid point. Not all Trump endorsements are actually wins. And I was actually going to talk about that. Now, Trump's endorsements usually hold good weight in the primaries, but he recently endorsed Amir Hassan for Michigan's eighth congressional district in Michigan. And that was a Trump-back candidate with a truth social post who lost the race.
We'll be discussing this throughout the morning today. Coming up next, James Uthmeier, your attorney general, sets a record on 92-5 Fox News. No panel of talking heads, just one semi-regular guy with a microphone. Trey Radle, afternoons at 5 on 925 Fox News. Right, all along. Welcome back to daybreak here on 92.5 Fox News right all along. I'm your host, Jason Jay Jones, along with Rob Stevens. You know, I, uh, we had him in studio yesterday, the attorney general James Albuyer. Oh, man, he was so good. It was such an honor to have him in, in studio. And last night I was, uh, talking, uh, with different people across Southwest Florida. I had a conversation with the sheriff about this particular story. I'm about to tell you with Sheriff Carmen Marino. Uh, and he was like, oh, uh, the attorney general likes you, bro. I was like, yeah? He was like, yeah, he had good things to say about you. I was like, all right. So there. I was wondering, would he leave here and say, I'll never go back in there? Or would he come back in and say, I'm totally in? And I think we had a great time. It was a lot of fun. I bet he calls you every time he's in town. I bet. We had a good time, man. And you know what? His favorite lunch is Chipotle. And I'll go there, no guac, no lettuce, but I'll go have it with him, man. You know what I'm saying? I'll go have a burrito with him. Well, yesterday I said before the break that he may have broke a record. Did he break a record? You know, I don't know if this is a record, but James Uthmeier, our attorney general, hit 2,000 child predator arrest. Here's week news with the headline. More than 2,000 child predator arrests in just 18 months. That's the milestone that Florida's Attorney General announced today, including Thranew arrest. And one of those arrests is Graham Freeman, a middle school teacher right here, Calusa Middle in Lee County, charged with multiple counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. He's pled not guilty. He's also charged with bestiality and was a middle school teacher. They found like 40. different downloads on his on the internet through technology they were able to locate uh that particular individual who was without lack of better words uh hiding a wolf hiding within the sheep and how dangerous is it that one of these predators was a middle school teacher What a black eye on your second day when it comes to Southwest Florida and having your attorney general here. But you know what? The schools were there. They assisted in the investigation. They supported in the investigation. And the attorney general talks about the more resources in here. Listen. People ask, do you think there's more predators now than there used to be? Or do you think you just have?
you know, more resources to go find them. I think the answer is a little bit of both. Well, thank you that we have more resources if the child predators are still on the climb. Look, right now... I hope that this 2000, because he hit 2,000 child predator arrest right here in southwest Florida. And I certainly hope that we're keeping that pace actually protects all these kids and we don't stop. I hope it's not a headline during election season. It's not a mission to do just to be out there. And my hope and my prayer, and based on what I see in the Attorney General and what I know about our sheriff here in Leak House. County and our sheriff in Collier County, 100% that this is priority number one. Yeah, and 2000 is definitely a win, but I believe that this demonstrates that this problem is massive and ongoing. And teachers and trusted adults keep showing up in these cases, which... I don't know, shows to me that screening and institutional vigilance are lagging big time. You know, it's a scary situation when the person that is with your child more than you are and understand every... parent that had a kid in that guy's class is now questioning their child about his behavior, his actions, if they saw anything. And it just, man, how scary is it, especially if your child's now a freshman or a sophomore, and you've got to go back and go, can you remember anything about this particular teacher? And I'm sure this. Was it his first teaching job? How long has he been riding through the system? Rarely is it a first-time teacher in these types of situations. So the Attorney General went on and talked about the Internet. Here you got to listen. I also think that the Internet has given our law enforcement officers who do a fantastic job, more ability to go and spot people that wouldn't be detected otherwise. What a double-edged sword that is. The Internet is how they're actually getting to our children. I mean, that is the hunting ground, I would say. But, you know, whatever's happening on the Internet can also be seen by other people because whatever's on the Internet is forever. And just because you're on there, it's not always going to be private. And we've seen this happen. But without sustained pressure on the cultural side of this, so family breakdown, porn saturation, and soft attitudes towards deviance, these arrests will keep coming. And, you know, when it comes to the Attorney General and these particular arrest, you know, they say the Internet's helping, the Internet is helping the predators. And I, you know what, it just scares me to know that in the past year since I have been here.
I think I have done, what, three, four local teacher stories, two or three coaches stories, a Pop Warner Coach's story. I mean, we're talking almost probably a dozen that affect our children, these role models that are in our children. And as long, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, excuse me. These role models within our children's lives or our grandchildren's lives are in our nieces and nephews lives and our neighbor's kids' lives. These role models are now being scrutinized by everybody. It's going to make people not trust their coaching system. You know what? You can't catch them all. But I know that now, if I had to guess, Denise Carlin is now figuring out a way to get deeper into a background of every teacher. And she's going to make sure that this doesn't happen. Well, and that's what I think I would like to see from both Lee County and Collier County here is. What is your vetting process? How are you screening? What are you screening for? What steps does a teacher have to take in order to pass the vetting and background check? I would like to know where this vetting, because there's obviously a weakness somewhere. Where's the vetting system failing? Let's figure out what it is we're looking at and what it is we're not. On top of that, I want everyone to understand that probably in my own heart and putting politics aside, My thoughts go out to the parents. And more importantly, every child that was in this man's class, Graham Freeman at a collusive middle, if they were in this man's class, they were in the, they had a wolf sitting right in front of them. They were a possible victim and possibly victimized. And were every day, every day that they were in that class, they were put in harm's way. every day. And that is a scary thing to think as a parent. So my thought, and especially as a child and a middle school child who is so such a hard time, man. Middle school, such a rough time. Oh, I know. Middle school sucked. Trying to figure out yourself, trying to understand relationships. And then you've got some predator prying on our children. God, middle school was hard enough without the predators. I hope I get that jury call.
They wouldn't let me on. No. Could Teresa Heitman get a retrial? I'll tell you why I'm asking next on Daybreak. 92.5 Fox News. today. Big decisions are on the ballot across Southwest Florida. Two open seats in Congress, the race for governor, and key local elections, live results, reaction, and analysis. Tuesday night at 7 on 925 Fox News. Welcome back to daybreak here on 925 Fox News, right all the long. I'm your host, Jason Jay Jones, along with Rob Stevens. A $1 rubber ring puts Florida DUI cases in jeopardy. Here's Jacksonville News with the story. This is a mugshot of Sergio Rosario Cruz Lopez. In 2025, he was arrested for DUI on Beach Boulevard and flunked a breathalyzer test. But inaction, inaction, we've learned a new legal ruling by a three-judge panel could lead to that test being thrown out. And it could impact thousands of other DUI cases across Jacksonville and Florida. All because of a $1. Now listen to this. The intoxilizer, 8,000 breathalyzer, which, by the way, if you want to know what that is, listen to Jacksonville News, tell us about that. At the center of the case is this. The intoxilizer 8,000. It's the gold standard for DUI enforcement. And it's used by every law enforcement agency in Florida and in nearly two dozen other states. So the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has a policy on changing those O rings and a court ruled that the way Florida agencies were replacing those ring courts as unauthorized repair under the rules. They weren't replacing them properly, which makes some of those DUI. all of those DUIs that were done by these machines with these improper policy o-ring replacements. They were basically changed the raw. They weren't changed correctly, which left the loophole wide open for these DUI cases. And now, could it be possible? It doesn't guarantee a retrial for Teresa Hyattman, but knowing her and how she pushed this DUI case, the mayor in Naples could. quite possibly get a retrial based on the because she blew. Now, side note, Rachel Caduke, city council person, did not blow into the breathalyzer. So this does not have anything to do with her case. And I think actually that's the example that I want to point to. More than 400 people.
die every year in Florida from drunk driving. The most recent high profile story locally was the 96-year-old man that was killed by Janice Taylor in a wrong way collision. But... This kind of stuff demands reliable enforcement and not loopholes. But the real thing here is there's other evidence in this case. There's the field sobriety test. There's body cam video footage. There's other observations like driving observations and any other physical evidence that police can find. You're only removing one of the pieces. There's a much more complete picture. And when you say Rachel Caduke, not having to do the breathalyzer, these are all the pieces of evidence that. she has to fight against. You know, the state made the rules, and they, FDLE actually admitted to improperly, basically saying we changed most of the rings. And when this happened, it immediately put everything into question. A lawyer found out about it. A lawyer used it. His client got off, which is bad for the victims, impossible people that could be killed by this. So this is, this is. an issue with a machine. And your question is, this machine, how long has it been around? And there's an attorney that did an interview with Jacksonville News, and he talks about the technology of these machines. This technology goes back to when Apple 5 was introduced in this country. It is way outdated. And now it's going to be questioned for a lot. A lot of cases are going to take this and use this as a way to get their client off of DUI. And if you're an attorney, it's what they're going to do. The state made the rules, how these machines get maintained. And now they're getting held to that standard. And that standard definitely needs to be checked. Now, Rob, it doesn't take away from the evidence. You're absolutely right. But it does point out the... fact that If done properly, these investigations by our hardworking law enforcement officers wouldn't have gone to the side on some of these cases that use the breathalyzer as part of the evidence. They'll have to go back and retrace old cases. Remember old cases have physical evidence. The breathalyzer is the physical evidence. It's the loaded gun. It's we found you with the gun at the murder scene. You are definitely guilty. Without that loaded gun and the credibility of loaded gun, I worry about all of the cases that are out there. Well, machines have produced...
usable results for years and one component issue doesn't prove mass false convictions. A thrown out breath test is not a dismissal. And up until this story happened, this has been, and that sound bite cracks me up because up until this moment, the breathalyzer has been considered a valid legal enforcement tool that has been in use for decades. So I think one component issue does not discredit the technology and how reliable it's been over the years. Maybe it does need it. update but right now up to this time this is legal enforcement and when you have a machine that people's lives are affected you know what here's the hard part let the attorney tell you oh hold on let me get up and the hard part about this ben is that people's lives are changed depending on the accuracy of breath machines. What this does, though, is the prosecutors and judges and the police rely on these. Put people in jail. Your job is affected. Your family is affected. Your entire life can be affected by a breath machine result that is inaccurate and has violated the rules of the agency. There you go. What about the people that that client of yours put at risk? What about the... hundreds of people on the road that they could have hit because they likely were intoxicated and you wouldn't even be making this argument unless you had somebody that had already been convicted guilty of DUI and had already put thousands of lives at risk. Don't talk to me about how this changes lives. Guilty until proven innocent. What about the 96-year-old guy that lost his life because Janice Taylor drunk drove? Would you like to see Janice Taylor's... stuff thrown out because I don't want to see anybody stuff thrown out I want the the the the the the FDLE to update all of these systems matter of fact get a new one get a brand new one it's their fault no one else's fault we're not I'm not going to sit here and say that the people that committed these crimes like the one you're talking about Janice Taylor should be let free and allowed to go but this is going to be an issue in her trial and it's going to be the issue in any one of these D. convictions and the issue is the machine is old and it may have been the standard forever it is still the standard it's not it's going to be an issue the o ring is found a judge this isn't somebody a whistleblower until that moment it was the standard right and now it no longer is so now we have a situation that we have to fix immediately or our law our men and women of law enforcement are not going to have the tools that they need in order to arrest these people like Janice Taylor. It has to be an update, which here, let me give you a prediction. Inside the next two weeks, we will hear a brand new system going through everybody. You can replace the O-rings now by some kind of system, but there's going to be scrutinization for that system for the rest of our lives now. But that doesn't discount the cases that are already done. No, it doesn't. But now I'm proven innocent and I'm guilty until I'm innocent until proven guilty. That's my right. If you're evidence... is the breathalyzer. Hey, sorry, I wasn't drunk. Your breathalyzer was wrong. Counsel, can we see the body cam footage, please? Right. That's what you'll need. You'll need the, but without the, no, really? I'm sorry, I was dizzy. I got out of my car too fast. Doesn't matter. You still had to do a field sobriety test. You still failed, and I still took you into jail. Right. Probably, hey, listen. You, I could smell the alcohol on your breath. Your words were slurred. What do you need to be found not guilty?
What's the beyond a reasonable doubt, right? If there's doubt, you have to throw it out. Reasonable doubt. Not minimal doubt. You're saying if there's any doubt at all, it has to be thrown out, bull. Do you think, let me ask you a question. You cannot take the breathalyzer. Hold on. Why do you think? Why do you think lawyers tell their clients not to use the breathalyzer? Because it can be used as evidence against them. And? Well, let's go deeper. Keep going. If you lose the breathalyzer, that still leaves all the other evidence, Jason. But why would the lawyer tell them not to do it? Why would the lawyer tell them not to do it, Jason? Because it's easier for them to win the case. This is going to make every DUI case easier for every defense attorney to win. Don't blame the messenger. Blame the person at FDLE that did it improperly. That's who needs to be blamed. That is the real big problem within this. particular situation, especially when it comes to these machines that are keeping our lives safe. Sounds like you want more drunk drivers on the road. I don't want a drunk driver on the road at all. I love that that's the angle, but what I do want is I do want a proper machine to keep them off of the roads. Field sobriety test, sure, if that agency has body cam footage, even better. But if we're talking about an agency in the middle of nowhere that doesn't have body cams, that has nothing more than an Officers weren't all Florida law enforcement required to wear body cams now? No, not at all. No, it's up to the agency. Okay. All right. The agency has the right to buy the body cam and not have the body cam. Well, I'm pretty sure our agencies in Lee and Collier County are doing body cams. Listen. I'm not saying that I would condone drunk driving. I definitely, I'm an Uber person. I would Uber to work if I had the money. I'd already told you if the flying car came down, I would never drive. So driving drunk is not my thing, all right? But what I will say is FDLE needs to be held accountable for this situation, and they also need to fix it right away. I expect the Attorney General would probably jump in here quick and new machines to arrive within the hour. The Maga Minutes coming up next. You're listening to Daybreak right here on 925 Fox News right all along. Decision. The Maga Minute on 925 Fox News is presented by Provident Jewelry. Find them online at providentjewelry.com.
Welcome back to daybreak on 925 Fox News right all along. The number one America first story you need to know this morning. Hey, everybody. It's Karoline Leavitt, Press Secretary for the White House. It's time for the MAGA Minute on 925 Fox News. Our efforts to protect our immigration system and our country's borders are aggressive. Additionally, we've directed the U.S. Attorney's offices around the country and the criminal division here at Maine Justice to work with DHS to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of birth tourism schemes. We've also directed the civil division to prioritize the denaturalization of naturalized citizens who have obtained citizenship through fraud. We are a nation of borders and sovereignty. The greatness of America is only as strong as our willingness to protect it, and I am proud to be part of the whole of government approach. to bring down sophisticated networks like this. This is indicative of the work we're doing to keep America safe. Attorney General Todd Blas just called in one of the largest marriage fraud prosecutions in the United States history. Now this guy, finally, we're going after the Trojan horse. The Trojan horse that I cannot, the one thing that I want. Everyone out there to understand is the biggest threat and has been for decades and now is even a bigger threat. These are, they just, by the way, more than a thousand sham marriages. Now, let me break it down why it's a threat. Chinese nationals pay like $100,000 for a fake green card wedding. And it's a pipeline. They got facilitators. They have people that do the ceremonies. They got the brides, everybody. Take the $100,000 bucks and they become a U.S. citizen by marrying into the world. This right here is just birth tourism, marriage tourism. These type of things are what's threatening our country the most. It allows people, Chinese nationals, more importantly, the... the access that we don't want them to have, the ability, birth tourism as well. Understand that's the same type of concept. This Trojan horse where you live inside of our country, but you don't believe in our values, and it was a sham that you got citizenship to begin with. The Justice Department starts knocking down thousand marriage networks instead of just processing the next one. Look, that right now is a great win. One case doesn't fix everything. but it does show it's changed from managing to dismantling, and that I can stand with right here on Southwest Florida's 92-5 Fox News. Well, hopefully Todd Blanche will be more productive here because Trump's DOJ has been the least productive DOJ I can remember in recent history. There's never been any perp walks. Pam Bondi was useless. I like that Todd Blanche was confirmed, but we haven't got any real perp walks, okay?
This stuff looks great on paper. It sounds great in sound bites. But come on. Show me some receipts. I'm tired of the Trump, DOJ, just talking and not walking. We need to get A.G. Offmeyer in Washington. No, he's ours in the country. Can't have him. Back off. Back off. I will say this, though. Back off of Todd Blanche. He just got really into the seat. He's now really starting to take the moves. Yeah. Pam Bondi. was a great patriot for our country. She lives here. She lives in San. No, right. She was an alcoholic. You can see it in her face. No, I'm just kidding. Look, she never did anything except for talk about how great the stock market is. She was an embarrassment, and I'm glad that she's not there. But. The predecessor doesn't make the current person a bad person or what they didn't do doesn't make his effort less. It takes time to get into the seat. Can you find out where the balls have been dropped? Listen, we all want to see perplex. I know. But if the Democrats take the Senate, then they're going to control the investigation panels. They're going to be able to do that. If the Democrats win the House, they control all the oversight committees. That's the problem. Todd Blanche is going to be a lame duck if the Democrats win. And exactly why we want to keep James Uthmeier here. Listen, I could sit here all morning and argue this one with you, brother, because you know what? You're right when it comes to the DOJ not doing anything, right? But I try to stay positive. You know, I really do. I try to stay positive on a regular basis, like our good sister station, positively 99. Go check it out. Positively 99 is now on air in Southwest Florida, 99.3. Just stay positive, man. It is Friday after all. Right, man, you are an angry. little elf today, man. Like, I'm, you know, I'm just kidding. Listen, when it's been a wild week. I'm just trying to help you be, it has been a wild week. You talk about a great week here on daybreak. It has been a wild one. But, you know, I do think that when it comes to the Department of Justice that they are hoping to. do something. So we'll see if it gets done. But you're right. You don't see it like you see it here in Florida nationwide. We haven't seen a perp walk. We do need to see one. But give Todd a moment, bro. He's not going to have much time. The election is just a few months away. He's going to have to get busy. Right. Get busy, Todd. You heard it from Rob's mouth. Here we go. Good morning. You're listening to the daybreak on 925 Fox News right all along.
