Officials say Olympus Disco Tech hired Vicente Espino Gonzalez, who was accused of strangling and insulting and underage girl back in July. Denver licensing and Consumer Protection Division, Eric Escadero, says the guard was not licensed. If you work in other cities of Colorado, no licensing requirement at all for security guards, which can be kind of scared. considering that security guards do have a lot of power and authority. The city ordered the club closed and the owner has been ordered to appear for a hearing next week. Espino Gonzalez was arrested and is facing felony charges. A $29 million infrastructure overhaul underway in the historic Santa Fe Arts District. Denver Mayor Mike Johnston kicking off the project with other city leaders. We are delighted to make this now one of the great art and restaurant locations in the city with this wonderful expanded streetscape that's going to give us nice wide sidewalks, plenty of places for art to be displayed, for people to be able to walk on First Fridays.

But not everyone's thrilled with the project. This coffee shop owner caught the mayor at the podium to voice her concerns. The Denver Firefighters Union, local 858, suing their state counterparts. The local union wants to distance itself from the state firefighters union, but the state union says no. Local 858 attorney Anthony Holtzman says the state union is not representing his members. By and large, our client, the local believes that it really wasn't getting much of consequence in terms of services and benefits. in exchange for paying dues to the state. They're asking the Denver District Court to decide on the validity of its disaffiliation and the nearly $400,000 in dues, the State Union says it owes. Voters in six states choosing candidates for November and were seeing some surprising results in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley beat Francesca Hong by less than a percentage point. Establishment Democrats are certainly celebrating this win. They were afraid that a Hong victory would essentially hand the GOP the keys to the governor's mansion in November. Hong had faced scrutiny over previous social media posts and lack the endorsements of prominent progressives like Senator Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. But the far left did get a boost in Minnesota where progressive candidate lieutenant governor Peggy Flanagan moderate Congress of an Angie Craig to win the Democratic nomination for Senate. Foxes, Madeline Rivera, Amy Klobuchar won the Democratic nomination for Governor of Minnesota. Also in Ohio, 16 people were struck by lightning at a prison and taken to local hospitals. The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes touched down near Chicago yesterday. The death toll in Colombia and the earthquake now over 200 people as rescue teams are continuing to hunt for survivors. Overnight, a woman was pulled from the remains of a building. After being trapped for a day and a half, thousands are still missing.

The report explains the sourcing on this information saying the U.S. official said Israel briefed the Trump administration on the intelligence, which included a threat to use shoulder-to-air.

missiles to target Air Force One. That's Fox says Trey Yanks. The president was secretly moved from Air Force One to another plane. Meanwhile, there's ongoing fears over a wider war in the Middle East and a dramatic escalation with Iran. Sencom saying U.S. forces disabled a cargo vessel which was trying to break the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports. That's near the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. Navy MH-60 helicopter fired two hellfire missiles into the engine room of that ship after the civilian crew ignored repeated warnings from American forces. ABC's James Longman, and in the Red Sea, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, attacked a cargo ship, killing six crew members. And the Summit County Sheriff's Office is investigating after several flock license plate cameras were cut down last week. A fifth camera was also turned around by an unknown suspect, but deputies were able to correct that problem. Officials say the suspect could face felony charges due to the value of the cameras. In between downtown of the attack, we're about 10 minutes on the drive time. Just starting. to see a little bit of a slowdown, southbound 25, getting on that ramp to eastbound 270, just because it's down to one lane, it tends to back up a little bit. It's not affecting I-25 all that much. It looks like, well, maybe a little over 10 minutes from 120th, making your way into downtown. Pennia is a 15-minute commute to the airport from I-70. Now on Colorado's morning news, well, after a long stretch of 90 degree days, we're finally in for a cool down and an increase in some of our storm chances. Joining us on the K-O.A. Common Spirit Health hotline with the latest is Fox 31 meteorologist. It's Kylie, appreciate your time. As always, very interesting to finally see a change in our weather forecast. I feel like we've continued to see it's hot, it's hot, it's hot weekend. it's very hot and then we go back to well it's still hot why are we seeing a little bit of this weather change moving in and a wet or cooler pattern Yeah, this is very, very good news. We're excited to see this. You know, basically we've got a big old level or a big old area of high pressure that's finally going to move into the right area just a little bit more into the central U.S. And that setup is what sets us up perfectly for the monsoon, which is, you know, typically from late July into early September. So it's just kind of all coming into the right place and it's going to tap into that moisture that comes in from the Gulf of California. This monsoon season is a very, very important part of our summer season because we do usually pick up some pretty decent moisture. Who could see maybe the greatest amounts of rainfall in the next several days? Are we talking heavy rainfall or maybe like constant light rain? What's kind of the demographic that we'd see with the rain here? Yeah, it's going to be more like bursts of showers and thunderstorms than it is just kind of that consistent light rain that you think of in like the Midwest or something. So it's not going to be a washout over the next couple of days. I'd say your best chance for getting some big heavy downforce is actually going to be out over the eastern plains. That's where you could see some storms become strong too severe. But really everyone along the front range up in our mountains, our entire state is looking at seeing some off and on decent shower activity. Our best chance for the most... Active days will be Thursday afternoon and evening and same thing again on Friday as well. Like you said, probably very helpful because I assume our drought conditions are not ideal right now. They're atrocious. In fact, we are seeing, we've only been keeping records for drought with the U.S. drop Monday for 26 years. So it's a small sample size, but in those 26 years, this is the worst drought that we've seen in the Denver metro area. We've got that level five out of five in the metro. We've seen that up in our high country as well. So it has not been a good summer when it comes to the heat and the lack of rain. And that's coming off of the winter where we had barely any snow. So it's not good news, but hopefully this will help a little bit. You know, three days of rain is not going to fix the drought.

but it certainly doesn't hurt. Our air quality concerns as well. It feels like this whole summer, it's just been hazy. You could barely see the mountains at times. Are we going to be out of the woods when it comes to the air quality? Or is it kind of one of those things where it's like until all the wildfires are really out, we won't really see it. Big change in our air quality. Yeah, I mean, it's a little bit of both because while those fires are burning, as long as the wind brings it into Colorado, we're certainly going to be feeling the impacts of that. But one good thing about the next few days is because we're tapping into that southwesternly flow, we're going to be seeing, we don't really have a lot of fires to our south and west. Most of them are to the north and west. So we'll see some big improvement on air quality here over the next couple of days. But that doesn't mean that we're in the clear for the rest of summer. Cool down, what days will we see? Also, what do we usually average for the month of August when it comes to our temperatures? Because it feels like we've been well over it for the last couple of days. We have been, yeah. I mean, average from this time year would be in the upper 80s. So we're talking like 88, 89 degrees, which is still warm. I mean, July and August are typically very warm months here. But we've been, you know, near record breaking and have had so many days in the triple digits. But today we're going to be in the mid to low 90s. And then we cool down into the low 80s for Thursday all the way through the weekend. Monday still in the mid 80s, maybe back up near 90 on Tuesday. So that's a solid five days. of 85 and below, which will be such a welcome release. Yeah, it's going to feel cool compared to what we've seen the past couple of days. Kylie, real quick, any chances or good opportunities to see this meteor shower that will be coming in as well? Yeah, I mean, unfortunately, it's timing out with the monsoon moisture, so we are going to be more cloud cover than we've seen for weeks, but I don't think it's like a total miss. So I think the best chance to be looking out to the north and east as you're getting into later on tonight. It's between midnight and sunrise that we're going to be dealing with that. Just as kids and teachers are heading back to school, Littleton Public Schools warning about a wage freeze and furlough days this year to help with its budget deficit. Littleton Public Schools faces a $10.5 billion shortfall. It blames on declining enrollment, budget constraints, and rising costs. They hope to cut $3.3 million by freezing wages and another $800,000 with a mandatory furlough day. The district warns that without additional money, furloughs could become more common. Brenda Stewart, K-O-A. A battle brewing between the local Denver Firefighters Union 858 and the state firefighters union. Denver Local 858 attorney Anthony Holsman says it's taking the state union to Denver District Court to recognize its separation from the state union. We're seeking for the court ultimately to issue two declarations in our client's favor, number one, that the local does not. owe any unpaid dues to the state. And number two, that the local has validly and effectively disaffiliated from the state. He says local firefighters aren't benefiting from the hundreds of thousands that they're spending on union dues. So far, the state and international firefighters union has refused to recognize the local's efforts to separate from the state union. The Santa Fe Arts District undergoing a transformation. Crews are widening the sidewalks, adding more trees and even updating old infrastructure between 6th and 13th avenues. Mayor Mike Johnston says there's more than one project taking place. We have two parallel projects, Allen Fowler from Denver Water. We'll talk about the Denver Water Project. That will be a short term about four-month project to replace the 136-year-old pipeline here. That will only close one block at a time. So for the next four months, we'll just do one block at a time for that water pipeline. reopen that block and move forward. The other blocks will stay open. The mayor says he understands that this is a major thoroughfare and at least one lane will be open during the morning rush hour. You may still want to take spear, Lincoln, or even I-25 as an alternate route.

The city of Denver ordering a local nightclub to close after allegations that an unlicensed security guard assaulted a teenager at gunpoint. Investigators say surveillance video captured much of the incident showing the guard Vicente Espino Gonzalez, leading the victim into the club's basement and assaulting her for nearly an hour. Espino Gonzalez was working with a security company whose license had expired nearly two years ago. Denver licensing and consumer protection divisions, Eric Escadero, says security licenses. are essential. That means those guards, they passed a background check. You know, there's no criminal history. And that same goes with the owner of the business. It also means that business is going to have liability insurance. Investigators are also accusing the owner of the nightclub of serving underage customers. The winning streak among progressives this primary season seems to have hit a bump in Wisconsin. Moderate David Crowley has won the Democratic nomination for governor defeating Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong, despite her big lead in the polls. Voters in five other states also selecting their candidates for November. South Carolina, voters deciding who will replace the late Senator Lindsey Graham after his sudden passing last month. I know he's looking down right now. I'm smiling. That gives me peace. It's difficult. His sister, Darlene, who was appointed to finish his current term, placing first among the candidates, now advancing to a primary runoff. ABC's line of more ease. In the Minnesota governor's race, Republican Lisa Demuth beat my pillow founder, Mike Lindell, who was backed by President Trump. When your favorite three days ago, by nine points, this is mathematically, it looks impossible. Lisa Demuth will face Amy Klobuchar in the general election. President Trump now confirming that he had to sneak off Air Force One in Turkey and take a decoy plane. The president says the decoy flight operation was not his call. I go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go in a different flight, a different plane, equal safety. ABC News has learned Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stayed on board Air Force One, but new Trump had switched planes. ABC's Karen Waugh says the switch was made amid threats from Iran. Former Marine Robert Gilman back on U.S. soil after being released from Russia. Gilman had been in Russian custody since 2022 after being arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer while drunk. President Trump said Russia agreed to release Gilman after his discussions with President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader reportedly cited humanitarian issues for the reason behind the release. Gilman landed just outside of Washington, D.C. last night with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff writing on X that he had the profound privilege of welcoming home of Patriots.

We right now, we're in a very good position. Gas prices inching higher after Iran backed Houthi rebels in Yemen attacked a cargo ship in the Red Sea, killing six crew members. The Red Sea, the latest shipping route in the firing lane. And sometimes it is all about chocolate. Douglas County Commissioners approved a $19 million tax rebate for a data center under construction in Parker. This vote passed by the commissioners is specifically about the tax incentive and not the data center. Center itself. Members of the community like Julie Orte voice their concerns. You believe this is an unfair tax that taxes businesses over and over again on the exact same piece of equipment after sales have already been paid. That is something we pay all the time. We would love this incentive. So my question to you, what is the rubric you are using for applying this? The center will use a closed loop water system and pay for its own electricity. Or the 2,000 video gamers have been hired as air traffic controllers by the FAA. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made the announcement on social media. Over the weekend, the hirings were made after the agency launched a campaign back in April looking for the next generation of air traffic controllers that had qualities like problem-solving skills and multitasking abilities. The FAA says the hiring effort was focused on reaching talented young people pursuing alternative career paths. It added that several controllers pointed to gaming as an influence on their ability to think quickly, stay focused, and manage complexity. is making it harder for creators to earn money on the website. In order to get ad revenue, creators now need to have 8,000 qualified watch hours over the past year or 20 million qualified shorts views over the past three months. Jury selection continues in the Tupac Shakur murder trial in Las Vegas. Dwayne Davis is accused of orchestrating the 1996 murder and faces life in prison without parole if convicted. The first day saw more than 20 of the potential 75 jurors excused. The process is expected to last through Friday with opening statements on Monday. and YouTube making it harder for creators to earn money on its site. We are going to collectively reject despair, and we are going to unite. It seems the Democratic Socialist Movement will not continue in Wisconsin, as establishment backed David Crowley, projected to beat Francesca Hong in the primary for Wisconsin's governor. Joining us on the K-Wa Commons Spirit Health hotline is Fox News Radio's Evan Brown. Evan, thank you so much for your time this morning. Well, Hong had a pretty commanding lead in the polls, but it doesn't seem that that was enough in this election. No, it did not. And we have to ask the question why that happened. And there's a couple of things to factor into this. One, perhaps maybe as it has been argued for years now, about 10 years now, that polling isn't always as good as we would want it to be. The other thing is that she was expected, according to those polls, to carry that nomination very easily. She lost by a smidgen. And that means that the more establishment, more moderate Democrat Crowley, still had a problem to contend with, and that is the amount of DSA, Democratic Socialists of America-type voters, that were willing to come out. Now, of course, this is a primary, which is, you know, known for galvanizing the, you know, the... The more stringent voters, the more in-tune voters, and the more, you know, energetic voters will say, you know, things work differently when you get to November. And someone, let's say, like Ahang, who would have won the primary, now would have to think about trying to somehow moderate to be able to appeal to those independents and maybe even Republicans while still not ticking off that base that provided them with the nomination. You know, it's hard to say this is some kind of widespread DSA takeover of the Democrats, but the Democrats, I think, are beginning to realize they have a little bit of a problem, and that is a very far-left anti-American contingent within their voting block that is, you know, demanding to be heard. And in some cases, can put people in denomination positions. Their biggest success so far is Oran Zohran Mamdani in New York. Yeah, we even have here our Congresswoman or possible Congresswoman in District 1, Denver District, Malakiros winning, beating over Congresswoman Diana to get in that situation too. But Evan, I also learned that Wisconsin doesn't really have an automatic recount. Generally, the candidate looking for the recount would have to really foot the bill. So it sounds like Crowley will be the one facing Republican Representative Tom Tiffany in the general election still winning by 3,000 votes or so. Yeah, again, with Wisconsin, as you mentioned, their recount system would come at an expense. So the DSA types, which seem to have a pretty big wallet these days. Maybe it's in their interest to demand and pay for that recount to see if they can squeak out another win here. They may decide it's not worth their time or money. But, you know, again, even with their showing of... of basically getting half the votes. They've kind of accomplished something here. They've sent the message to the Democratic Party that they are now a force to be reckoned with and must be addressed. Let's look at Minnesota for a second. It looks like a big loss for President Trump's endorsement. Former MyPillow CEO, Mike Lindell, will not be Minnesota's next governor.

Yeah, I don't think too many people really thought he was going to win, but he has been a staunched Trump ally for years at this point, and so it made sense that President Trump would provide that endorsement. But no, he's done. It looks like Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar will take on Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Lisa Demuth in the governor's race there. And Evan in wrapping up with you, South Carolina's special primary election to replace late Senator Lindsey Graham advancing to a runoff. Yes, and it is his sister, Darlene Graham, who is currently, I should say, Senator Darlene Graham, she was appointed to fill the rest of her late brother's term. She was the big vote getter last night, just not enough to clinch the nomination, so she will be one of two people in the runoff. I suspect she'll do well in that runoff. She is, I guess, at this point now viewed as sort of an extension of her late brother's legacy. And Lindsey Graham is one of a few Republicans who kind of straddles the camps between the MAGA and the non-Maga. And I think she's kind of taking that mantle. And so I suspect she'll probably do well. And it goes to show that the Republicans, at least in some areas, in this case, South Carolina. have the ability to still kind of reach a consensus candidate when it comes down to it.
