News Talk 820, WBAP. And now, new on FM at 93. Good morning, it's 807. Among our top stories, a road rage incident yesterday on I-20 shut down that freeway. It was during the show, and we've gotten more details. They've actually made an arrest of a 37-year-old, who apparently, according to witnesses, pulled up next to the victim in this case and just started firing his gun into her car. Apparently, it was a road rage incident, and you have to step back and say, you know, Here we are driving the freeways. We get on them every day. Most of us do. And how safe really are we from the person in the car next to us? Well, there are people out there like that that won't hesitate to take a shot at you. You know, there's a controversy right now called with these flock cameras. Yeah. Some people want them. Some people don't. But is this a time, and I don't believe a flock camera found this person the... the shooter because it was a witness that did this. But would the flot cameras help in this situation? I don't think so. You could probably argue that maybe the text dot cameras could if they were pointed in the right direction. Yeah, they have to, yeah. And at the right thing. But I don't know if they've got, I don't know, because I don't know if they have flock cameras on the freeways or not. Yeah, I don't need it. I was under the impression the flock cameras were kind of like on city. Downtown streets. Yeah, yeah. I would imagine that there were plenty of people out there who were on their phones while they were sitting in traffic who just simply turned it around and got a video maybe of the guy's license plate or saw what actually took place. There probably is a video of something if it was a road rage incident too that went on for a while that somebody got cut off or somebody shot the finger or whatever it would be. This is just another addition to something else you have to be concerned about when you drive the streets of DFW. Oh, yeah. The stress that we're already under with our lives being what they are, you know, to keep kids out of trouble, to pay the bills, to have enough money to buy groceries. And you add on top of this, now I've got to worry about whether the wacko next to me is going to be shot at it, is going to interpret anything I do as a personal affront to him. Right. You know, the bottom line is there is, we have raised, this guy they arrested was 37, we've raised a generation who somehow were told that nobody messes with me. Yeah. And if you mess with me, you'll pay with your life. I guarantee you. That's what happened with Carmelo Anthony. Oh, sure. And his victim at that track meet. Nobody touches me. And so you pay the ultimate price. I'm going to kill you for doing so. That's the stupidity that has been drilled into young people now. We've turned into, do you know who I am society? Yeah. And I am the most important person on the planet. Yeah. I don't know how many times I'm in the car and somebody will pull out in front of me and I'll say, and then they'll see me. I'll say, yes, yes, there's another, I'm another person in the world. It's not just you. Yeah, howdy. But I don't say them where they see it. Yeah, I know. Because I don't want to get shot. But that's the sad reality we live with. That's what we always tell Carla, because she lays on her horn. She lives on her horn.

3:11

She didn't live in a house. She lives on the horn. On the horn. Yeah, she lives on the horn. A horn and that finger and... Now, let's not go overboard now. She got out and she beat some guy up. I'm telling you. Oh, yeah. She busted up six iron workers the other day. Wait, man. That was just a misunderstanding. Oh, sure it was, yeah. Remember that road worker? She sat on fire? All he was doing was sitting there holding a shovel. After beating him up in the traffic home. They're saying, I'll flare you. And she did. Yeah. Tough. Police have made an arrest after a woman was shot and killed Thursday morning at a road rage attack on interstate 20 during the morning commute. Patrick Lawrence was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Latavia Davis. Investigators said witnesses reported that Lawrence pulled alongside the victim's car in open fire before driving off. The Plano School Board voted to fire the principal who reportedly took no action after hearing accusations of abuse in her school. Brinker Elementary Principal Jennifer King named in a lawsuit that claims a former teacher was accused of inappropriate. appropriately touching multiple students, and when it was brought to King's attention, she didn't do anything. Concerns growing the foreign exporters routing goods through third countries to evade U.S. tariffs, China, Panama, Mexico, and Colombia among the more than 40 countries identified at posing a high transshipment risk. The process involves routing goods to an intermediary country before they enter the U.S. under a different country of origin, potentially qualifying for lower tariffs. More than 20,000 Texas students have returned their school vouchers. Over two-thirds. were previously enrolled in public schools. More than 122,000 students have been awarded the vouchers, but using it, it's a little tougher. Private schools can say no to you, or they can charge tuition much higher than the voucher amount. Been a lot of buzz around Mark Cuban being interested in buying the Dallas Cowboys stock at the time. Jerry Jay Jones said he was open to the idea. Now, Jerry says, no, not right now, but he also said that he likes Mark Cuban and his human quality and experience, so the idea not necessarily off the table. You know, the good thing about Mark Cuban, if he was able to buy the Cowboys, he would run out on the field and argue with the referees. Right. Grab them by the lapels and that kind of thing. We're going to bring some action back to this game. I'd sure make the ticket worth more, would it? Definitely would. I might pay to see that. Yeah. All right, that's five things you need to. by Henko. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. News Talk 820, WBAP. And now, new on FM at 933. You have voted to impeach Ken Paxton. You've been critical of him. You supported John Cornyn in the primary, but now you're telling voters, vote for Ken Paxton. Why? Well, the choice for Republican voters in Texas as we had in November is clear. And we cannot allow past disagreements to sow division as we head into November. James Talarico, who I know have served with in the Texas House, is not your granddaddy's Blue Dog Democrat. He is a progressive radical. He's a socialist through and through. I believe very strongly that the Democrat Socialist of America, their golden boy, they're rock star, their superhero, is not Mayor Zohran Mamdani in New York. It's James Talarico here in Texas. And so the choice for Republican voters, as we headed in November, is clear. Do we want to protect and preserve and safeguard the Texas that we know and love and strengthen it? Or do we want to hand it over to the people who have ruined great states like California and New York? That's Jeff Leach. Jeff Leach? Ask the question, say he hadn't been a Ken Paxton supporter, but now you are. Explain yourself, Lucy, and he's saying, look, man, bottom line is you got to go for the right guy. You got to go for the right guy because, you know, James Talarico is socialist, whatever you want to call him. He's a liar. You know, that's just, that's just the way it is. Now he's got TV commercials. It's like, look at me and Grandpa, we are Christians, raised up and in the Bible. Yeah, it's it. Come on. Except for that he thinks God is non-binary. Non-binary. And he's six-gender. Four abortions. But all other than that. But we're going to talk about Islamic footwashing in the DFW airport. You know, by the way, that only four other airports in America have this. Really? By the way. Isn't this going to create kind of a slippery, slippery fall type hazard? Well, yeah, are you walking around barefoot with water on your feet? Yeah, that's called hate. That's what it's going to create is hate. That's what it will create. My only question is, can anybody wash their feet in the feet washing station? Well, sure. Do you have to be Islamic? Is there going to be a bouncer? I don't know. Yes. Is there going to be ID at the door? You just got to say the secret word. What do you have to do to end up being the foot wash bouncer? Right. What does that pay? You're just a regular adult who's made a lot of mistakes in your life.

8:50

And what if you're not, if you're not Muslim, can you identify as Muslim and then wash your feet? Yes. I don't understand how any of this works. What are the rules? Speaking of which, we're going to talk about the WMBA. Okay. Because the women got together couldn't decide on what a woman is or lunch. That's right. Oh, anywhere's fine. It doesn't matter. Unbelievable. Right. Unbelievable. So we let a group of women get together to decide something. And we know that history tells us. Nothing gets decided. You know, all these people, there's bunches of people that are behind the trans movement with money, lots of it. Why don't they get together to start a trans league? Right. But it's not even trans, right? I mean, it's the lesbian and the boys and the two spirits and whatever you feel like today. I mean, let's not be, let's not be not inclusive. Well, we have the way at softball leagues. Yes. You know. And all the Subaru's are in the parking lot. Correct. I mean, that way everybody, I don't care if you have three boobs and a penis, you can go play basketball. Wow. Wow. It's like a total recall movie. And they all play together. Makes it hard to die. And nobody can get upset. Three boobs and a penis. Wasn't that a sitcom on NBC at one time? It only lasted two weeks, but that's the way it goes. That completely went off the rails. It's like martini. It's like martini lunch. Once. not enough and three's too many yeah all right well i'd like to withdraw from this conversation at this time too but no no no this trans stuff is crazy it is because you have to do-gooders they say oh we've got us but what it affects them for some reason they back off a little bit you know yeah well it's a weird world we live in fellas that it is and matt we'll be talking about all of it coming up this morning at 904 all right uh at uh 852 on the clarity windows and doors news line we John Inham, he's our WBAP sports reporter, he's handling the Cowboys for us. He's in Seattle for the big first pre-game season, pre-season game of the year. Seattle, of course, being the Super Bowl champs from last year, you've got to hope that the Cowboys make a good showing, John. You did. Can y'all hold on a minute? I'm washing my feet. Oh, good, yeah. We've been hoping you would. I mean, y'all could have given me a million guesses, and I wouldn't have thought when I woke up this morning that I would hear the phrase, three boobs and a piece. Well, I mean, you should have known better. It's pretty common around here. It's the fifth time it's been said in this room today, John. And it's all my fault. I apologize. So, hey, John, the Cowboys, they look. pretty good, you know, when they were doing a scrimmage this week, but of course that was only a scrimmage. What are you looking for when they actually start the preseason off? Well, I mean, honestly, I don't expect anybody that you've ever heard of to play. So what that means is there's still going to be a lot of competition. They're still trying to find some of the backup roles, and those can be crucial. I mean, right now when you look at the Cowboys starters, they can pretty much match up with just about anybody. And it's funny to say that you can say that on both sides of the ball, but there's that third part of football, which is special teams.

12:03

To answer your question, Manny, I mean, they've got to find some more special teams, guys. They lost a few. some of their best tacklers, some of their difference makers on special teams. Can they get Bill Bates back? He was always pretty good. Oh, yeah, yeah, that would be good. But, you know, C.J. Goodwin and guys like that, they're going to need some help out there. Hunter Lippey made a difference. He's going to be back. And so they've got some places to fill over there. And so, you know, it's guys that are going to be fighting for their NFL life. And it's when you think about it in those terms. It can make the preseason kind of fun to watch. It does look like their defense, again, just looking at practices and scrimmages, does look like their defense has gotten better. Oh, way better, Monty. I mean, they can be any worse. Well, that's true, yeah. It's the worst defense in the history of the franchise. Come out with white flag, yeah. Yeah, precisely. But no, I mean, you guys talk about the Rams and, Last year, when they scrimmaged Rams, they got gashed, and everybody started looking at each other and saying, oh, no. Of course, no one could predict just how bad it was going to be. They should have been tipped off when the mascot was adopted. It was roadkill. Right. But this year, when they scrimmaged them, they looked really good. And so there's a lot of excitement surrounding the defense. They've got two of the best tackles in football. If they can find a defensive end, then they're going to be really good up front. And, of course, we all know that's where you win and lose is up front on both sides, offensive and defensive lines. And so the secondary is much improved. Caleb Downs is, I mean, I told you guys, he was the one that I wanted in the draft. I think he was the best player in the draft. And somehow, some way, they got him. everything is going to be better. Christian Parker is fantastic. The guys love him. Now, having said that, he's a first year coordinator. So there's going to be some going on taste. There just is. But they're better there. All right. Well, John, I know it doesn't matter what the final score is, but do you think they can match up with the Seahawks and you have 10 seconds to answer? Yes. All right. That's good. You did it. Congratulations. That's great, John. You hit the post. How about that? All right. John Inham, the world traveler WBAP sports reporter covering the Cowboys for us. John, thank you so much.
