Good morning. This is New Hampshire today. I am Chris Ryan. I appreciate you joining us for the show. And a bit of a shock last night, Francesca Hong, the Democratic Socialist candidate for governor out in Wisconsin lost. No matter who wins his primary, we're going to continue to fight for each other. We are going to collectively reject despair. And we are going to unite. I think we can all get behind collectively rejecting despair, but folks in Wisconsin did not get behind her candidacy to send her on to the general election. Let's get the latest on the Wisconsin and Minnesota primaries from Chris DeMayo. David Crowley winning the Democratic nomination for governor in Wisconsin, defeating Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong. He'll face Republican Tom Tiffany in November. Progressive Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan defeats Angie Craig in Minnesota's Senate primary. Trump cut 15 million people off of their health care. And Michelle Tofoya said, yes, sir. Tax. breaks for billionaires? Yes, sir, you betcha. Former NFL sideline reporter Michelle Tofoya, who was backed by President Trump, easily won Minnesota's Republican primary and will take on Flanagan in November. Chris Carl DeMaio, Fox News. Joining us right now on the HRC, your neighbor credit union guest. I'm former member of Congress and former State Senate President Jeb Bradley. Good morning, Jeb. Hey, good morning, Chris. How are you? I am well. You can certainly get behind the Democratic Socialist agenda because they're against despair, correct? Yeah, of course. And you know what I think may have killed Representative Hong in Wisconsin is, you know, people love Thanksgiving. It is one of our most revered holidays. And when she said, you know, we shouldn't be celebrating Thanksgiving. And that just strikes. at the core of who we are as a people. But it wasn't just that. It was she was against it, then she was still against it, and then she became for it, and then she was wholeheartedly for it and enjoyed Thanksgiving. I think that is the biggest problem is that she continually changed her position on Thanksgiving. So she is the first candidate that tried to cancel Thanksgiving and was subsequently canceled herself. Yep, exactly. And I don't know, you know, all the other arguments are crazy defunding the police, getting rid of prisons, you know, all of that. But somehow Thanksgiving just struck to the core of who we are to me. And maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's maybe why people, the good people of Wisconsin, which is a really nice state, rejected her. So that's the case there. Do you think that this is indicative of what may be happening across the country as well, where obviously Bernie Sanders...

Democratic Socialists, the OG, had a lot of success here in New Hampshire, winning in 2016, 2020. In my view, he had the, basically got kneecapped and the nomination taken away from him two times around. So I feel like Democratic Socialists and that agenda and message can have success, but it feels as though perhaps the sentiment that it is. as strong as many people feel may not be the case. Yeah, I think we're not going to know until, you know, The votes are counted in November. I mean, let's remember, you know, it's a thin slice of Democratic voters that vote in primaries that generally lean toward the left and the message for, you know, left-wing Democrats is resonating. When you get to a general election, you have a much broader... you know, overall population, Republicans, independents, and, you know, moderate Democrats, it may look different. We'll see. I think, you know, the race in Michigan is going to be very telling whether, you know, Mike Rogers, who was a colleague of mine, a really good guy when I was in Congress, can, you know, take that Senate seat from, you know, the Democrats in Abdul El-Sayed, who is... You know, he claims not to be a Democrat socialist, but he's adopted all their policies. So I think in a general election, it may be a lot different. You know, the mood of the electorate is not all that great right now. And I think you've touched on this. It's an anti-incumbent mood. But, you know, we'll see what happens in New Hampshire. I think, you know. Over the last 10 years, the eight years that Sununu was governor, the two years that Governor Aod has served, you know, New Hampshire's been run really well. And we haven't, you know, raised taxes. We've balanced our budget. We are at the top of all these, you know, national surveys for livability, for unemployment, for lowest poverty rate, safest state in the nation. So I think, you know, Republicans have to tout that. And, you know, I know you probably have a bet going on as to how many times I'm going to make. Two and a half is the line. I don't think you're going to hit it. Two and a half is the line. Okay, well, I'm up to two right now because an income tax is on the ballot, you know, with all the debate about how we're going to make New Hampshire more affordable. Okay. I mean, the Democrat motto might be, yeah, we're going to lower costs by raising your taxes, and that'll start with an income tax. So, you know, I think that that will be a powerful message as we get into September and October. Obviously, we have a primary here, too, and it's going to, you know, remain to be seen.

Because we haven't had, you know, contentious Democrat primaries in New Hampshire in quite a while. But in the first CD and even now a little bit in the U.S. Senate race, the primaries are, you know, getting kind of hot. I agree, and we'll get to end this interview very quickly because I took the under today on the two and a half. So don't allow you another opportunity to say that an income tax is on the ballot. But if you look at the last, say, 20, 25 years and in the major races, New Hampshire has consistently elected. moderates. So I don't think that that changes this time around. I don't think that a Democratic socialist or a MAGA candidate can win because I haven't seen that. I mean, thinking back over the last 20, 25 years, maybe the only really strong progressive was Carol Shea. Katie Porter and going back on the Republican side, conservatives. Think of, you know, Bob Smith back in the day, Gordon Humphrey. Like, it's been a while since on a statewide ballot, we have seen a non-moderate candidate have success. And to me, that's not going to change this time around. Jeb, as always appreciate your time. We'll talk soon. Okay, Chris, talk to you next week. Take care. Jeff Bradley, joining us on the HRC, your neighbor credit union guest line. I am Chris Ryan. This is Hampshire today. Other health concerns, mental illness is not always easy to see.
