Well, it's really kind of, it's economic fascism is what it is. And you're talking about Trump doing that, and you might know I have railed against Trump. That is my point. My point is that Republicans need to do a better job of promoting free markets in order to beat the Democrat Socialists. That's my whole point. I'm not here to tell you that Trump is the greatest at that because he's not. He's not. All right, let's get to the headlines, though. Right now we have the Tennessee Bullet Points. Number four today, Rock City addresses concerns over the proposed lookout mountain gondola. We've talked a lot about this, the great gondola wars of 2026. While we had mentioned yesterday that the people against it are wanting to overload their system with questions and go to these events and protest. where Rock City Enterprises is addressing concerns raised by an opposition group regarding its proposed lookout mountain gondola project, emphasizing transparency and community engagement. The company stated that the zoning request only pertains to land use and zoning entitlements and does not address other project aspects. Rock City assured them that the gondola corridor would stay on its property. Traffic concerns could be managed with improvements and the project aims to reduce vehicle trips and emissions. The company points to release more details as the project progresses, with safety environmental regulations being a priority. A vote on the zoning request by the city of Lookout Mountain is expected soon. So kind of on a similar story here for number three, Carter and Lookout Mountain are apparently going to avoid a court battle over the incline railway. So the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority, Carta, and the town of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, have reached an agreement to resolve their dispute over the operation of the historic incline railway, avoiding a potential court battle. Now, Carter, which owns the 130-year-old train, it relies on its revenue over $4 million from $212,000 visitors in 2024.

It will now pay a new tiered public safety fee based on annual ticket sales starting at 30 cents to about a dollar per ticket with higher rates possible for future expansions. It's going to do that to support the town's emergency services while agreeing to a daily passenger limit of 2000 and operating hours of 8.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with flexibility to 10 p.m. for descents. Now in return, the town will not enact a stricter proposed ordinance that would have imposed a flat dollar fee, which would have gone up annually. It also wanted to impose a 500 passenger daily cap, much shorter hours and fines. So this is a six-year deal with automatic extension. It also includes free resident passes and aims to balance tourism needs with local public safety concerns. This is after the recent fires that happened. Number three today, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, they had an operation which recovered 30 missing children in six days. So the TBI in partnership with the U.S. Marshal Service and the Memphis Safe Task Force and the Memphis Police Department and the Department of Children Services, while they all conducted a multi-agency operation from July 29th to August 3rd that safely recovered 30 missing juveniles ages 10 to 17 from Shelby County. some of whom were found in Georgia and Mississippi. Now, teams checked 109 addresses after intelligence analysts identified the children as missing, delinquent, or runaways. Officials including U.S. Marshal and the TBI director praised the effort, underscoring the value of rapid multi-agency coordination and noting that hundreds of children go missing in Tennessee each month while highlighting the ongoing role of TBI's missing persons clearinghouse. So there you go. I wonder if flock cameras were used to find some of those children. I'm just randomly throwing that out there. Just wondering that. Number one today, the Republican nominee for Tennessee governor, Marsha Blackburn, is being sued by fired and reinstated APSU professor. So Republican nominee for Tennessee governor, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, is being sued by Darren Michael, an Austin P. State University associate. Associate Professor, excuse me, of acting and directing, who was initially fired in September for a degrading social media post about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. While he was later reinstated after the university admitted procedural failures in terminating a tenured faculty member, and who received a $500,000 settlement from APSU, then included a statement of regret. Now, Michael alleges that Blackburn improperly used her senatorial position to pressure the university into firing him, thereby suppressing his First Amendment rights and causing severe emotional distress to him and his family. So he seeks a declaration of constitutional violations first and 14th amendments. You know, I just have to say. Charlie Kirk was the one killed publicly, his family. They're the real victims. Charlie Kirk was the real victim? I don't think you're much. It's hard for me to believe you're the real victim of all this when you're out there making degrading comments of Charlie Kirk after that happened. I just have to say. And you might have free speech rights, but so does Marsha Blackburn as senator. And this idea you have a right to keep your job as a professor because you say something like that, I think it's kind of ridiculous. But he's suing. We'll have to see what happens.
