Mike Drop, hosted by former Navy CEO, Mike Ridland. What is your take? Was it what you expected? Oh, it was the best thing ever. It was something I always wanted to do. If you show me a clear goal, I'm like, okay, I can do that. Master Chief. He's like, you realize there's about 1% chance that you're making a 3%. That's all I need Master Chief. My platoon went home early, and I just went up to my chief, and I was like, I'm not going home. Turns out I'm staying. That's when we go to war. Yeah, I was like, okay, I could get used to this. Mike Drop, follow and listen on your favorite platform. Welcome back to Yeffi Live. We're here on Talk Radio 102.3, doing my part to make radio great again. It's a revolution in common sense here on this show, every day 1 to 3 p.m. I saw here from The Hill.com says President Trump on Thursday floated the possibility of temporarily pulling Todd Blanche's nomination. to serve as Attorney General to circumvent the oppositions of Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis, and then resubmitting Todd Blanche's name after John Cornyn and Thom Tillis leave Congress. So Trump said Todd Blanche is a star, and everyone knows it. He has the potential to go down as one of the greatest Attorney General's of all time. However, John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, both of whom I refuse to endorse. and his political careers have been ended by my action, or refusing to vote for this great nominee who will remain in any event as acting, meaning acting attorney general. Apparently, they're mad because they wanted him to promise that he would get rid of the whole IRS fund. Remember we talked about that could go to January 6ers or whatever?

Yeah. Oh, like children. I mean, really, that is what's going on here. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis are mad at Trump because Trump took part. I mean, it wasn't all Trump. But Trump was a part of them losing their re-election. So now they're trying to, they're trying to take it back. I'm shocked. You're right. You're right. Nobody is shocked by that. One thing I do want to talk about, though, real quick. And I posted about this on my social media. So if you like the Yaffy Facebook page or follow me in X at Yaffy or Instagram at Yaffy Live, you can see my post on this. Because there's still a lot of talk about nuking the filibuster, getting rid of the filibuster rule. That way, Republicans could just pass pretty much anything on a simple majority vote, anything they want. And you've had many people I like, say, just get rid of it. It's done. We're going to speak with Christopher Reed in the next segment. He wants to get rid of the filibuster. And I know Trump said this not too long ago. He said, when is enough enough for our Republican senators? There comes a time when you must do what should have been done a long time ago and something which the lunatic Democrats will do on day one if they ever have the chance. Terminate the filibuster. It says also add complete all five items, save America Act items, go for the gold, he said. And I was thinking about this recently. I've heard different arguments. One of the arguments for getting rid of it is they believe Democrats will get rid of it as soon as they get the majority. I'm not 100% convinced on that. They tried to get rid of it before and there were some Democrats who got in the way. I think it's very possible some would still get in the way. I've also heard the argument that it always helps Democrats and never helps Republicans if we're trying to. You know, roll back some of the Democratic agenda. We can never get it done because the Republicans never have a strong enough majority, all of that stuff. But, you know, the more I think about it, the more I think getting rid of the filibuster is just a bad idea. And this is the main reason why. If we get rid of the filibuster, let's say we get rid of the filibuster, and then we just start passing all of Trump's stuff, anything he wants, which I support most of it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do. But let's say we pass the Save America Act. We pass all these different things. Now that the filibuster is gone in the Senate, as soon as Democrats get the majority, they're just going to reverse it, which could happen in a couple of years. Let's be honest, with the slim majorities that are there. As soon as Democrats get power, they're just going to go in and say, okay, well, you passed all this. We're just going to reverse it. So what did we really accomplish? Now, I guess the idea is that once you pass it, it will be so popular that it would be hard for them to reverse it. I don't know about that. I just don't like this idea that the Senate is just going to pass everything and then it's going to be reversed every two or four years or something. We already have the problem with the presidency. I actually don't think as well it's a smart strategy politically to constantly bring this up and Trump does it and many Republicans do it. And the main reason is I live in Realville. Rush used to say that I like that. I live in Realville and reality suggests right now that they don't have the votes to do it. Republicans simply do not have the votes currently right now to get rid of the filibuster.

5:27

So it just looks like you're complaining. It looks like division within the party. And all that's going to hurt the party come up to the midterms. I actually think, and maybe it's too late for this, although I think there's time. I actually think it would have been a much better idea. Instead of constantly complaining about it, I think Republicans should have united and campaigned on protecting it. where Democrats in the past have talked about endlessly that they want to get rid of it. And I know there are some that are like, well, we got to play, you know, we got to hit fire with fire, so to speak. But I actually think it's popular with the American people. They don't want radical transformation in the Senate or in the government or in the country other than maybe some of the Democrat Socialists. So if Republicans are actually united and what they're campaigning for right now, they could literally campaign on saying, we are the ones that protected the filibuster. We are the ones that protected the institution of the Senate. It is the Democrats who want to radically transform the Senate by getting rid of the filibuster, by packing the Supreme Court. And then, of course, you have some of the Democrats socialists who want to just abolish the Senate outright. This was an opportunity for Republicans to say, look, we are slowing things down. That's what conservatives want. We don't want government just passing things all the time. The filibuster helps prevent that. But they could also go out and campaign on being the side, being the party that protected these institutions. Instead, we have a very big split where Trump and some Republicans complain about the filibuster. And then it never gets abolished because they don't simply just don't have the vote right. Now, when it comes to the Save America Act, I think there are other ways to get that done. I tend to agree that at the very least, John Thune could keep them in session. and force them to at least vote on it and put them on the record because it's very popular with the American people and Democrats would have to go on record against it. I mean, seriously, just lock them in the room and force them to at least vote on it. I think there is something to that. But the idea we just abolish the filibuster, I'm telling you, it could create a lot of chaos in the future. And I know everyone's in a rush short term to just get things done. But you open that door. Democrats are going to, once they get majority, man, they're going to use that. They are going to slam that. I think there's a chance now we could save the Villabuster, but if we get rid of it, the Democrats are definitely not bringing it back. And then it's just going to get, it's going to get pretty crazy, I think. But maybe you disagree. I'm sure a lot of you disagree with me on all kinds of things. 423-267-1023. By the way, I'm looking at the traffic cameras, Max, that usual time. I didn't cause it.

8:29

I did not cause it, but if you're around Roswell Boulevard, something dropped off of a vehicle. Uh-oh. And it's in the middle of one lane. A lot of traffic that was moving over there around Rossville Boulevard, and that's caused it to slow in the last minute or so. So if you're in the center lane and you're going eastbound. Kind of be watching for it. Okay. Okay. I mean, it's not the worst. Cars are still moving. Yeah, they're moving, but they're having a... But it's pretty... Yeah. Yeah, it's... What was it like a... Is it a Dale Jackson T-shirt? Is that what I see on the car? Is that a Dale Jackson? No, okay, I'm just... That would be distracting. If someone just lost a Dale Jackson T-shirt off their car. I thought everybody asked me about this shirt. Yeah. What the heck does that mean? They don't know? For five bucks, I'm wearing these shirts. That's what it means. It means you're his biggest fan, Max. It means he's uncancellable. Sure, huh? Temporarily. Temporarily. Okay. Just wait. Okay. All right. So we'll keep up to date with the traffic. Christopher Reed's going to join us in the next segment as well. He wants to talk Dr. Anthony Fauci, the war on Iran. We need to bomb more is what he's going to say, which I agree with. Yep.
