Wasn't that an encouraging way to start our Friday together? First Corinthians 1013 puts it this way. No temptation is overtaking you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with the temptation, he will always provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it. That is a part of scripture that people forget. You know, there's times to confront, there's times to not. There's times to stand firm. There's times to run. You know, When Joseph was faced with Potipher's wife who had the hots for him, and Potipher was his owner, for lack of a better way of putting it, and Joseph had found favor. And Potipar trusted him with his home, with his family. Only problem was, old Potiphar had himself a wife who had the eyes for Joseph. And she's like, oh, Joseph. I want to be my boyfriend? And Joseph was like, nope. And he skedaddled. There was no time for it. You don't, there are certain things that you just, you just stay clear of. God's Word is telling us that there's not one single temptation that you're going to face that God doesn't God does not understand it's part of being in a fallen world Jesus faced temptations he defeated every single one of them and there's a way out there's always a way out there's always a way to say no so Remember, no matter what's happened, you can always, as Matthew West just saying, turn back to Jesus. Ten past the hour. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Unlike a lot of talk show hosts, he's admitted to be wrong. That's when he thought he was wrong, but in fact, wasn't. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.
July 24th, 1701, Detroit is founded as a French fur trading post. Trading Post. Trading Post. Detroit Post. 1847. Brigham Young leads Mormon pioneers into the Valley of the Great Salt Lake. 1911 American explorer Hiram Bingham discovers Machu Picchu which very few people know was the beginning of the Pokemon craze 1911 doesn't it sound like the name of a Pokemon it does it does it absolutely does Machu Picchu The lost city of the Incas in the Andes Mountains of Peru. And it was on this date in 1969, the Apollo 11 astronauts splashed down in the Pacific, made their way home. It took a couple days. Think about that. The time it takes to drive, say, from here to Arizona is how long it took to go from the moon here, back home to Earth.
That's crazy. Maybe a little longer. Maybe it took a little bit more. And then it was on this day in 1775. During the Revolutionary War, the newly appointed commander-in-chief of the Continental Army was busy organizing his troops. As he rode through the camps on the hills outside Boston, George Washington. Heard his men singing a ditty that they had taken a liking to with the words that started, Yankee Doodle went to town, a riding on a pony. And the background of that song is fascinating. It really is. Because the Brits, if I remember correctly, the Brits used it. and considered Americans to be just rubs. I mean, Cretans. And so when we won the Revolutionary War, I believe that the American troops were singing the song saying, yeah, us rubs just whooped you, spanked you, sent you back home. Today's National Cousins Day. Okay. You know, Cousins is, I believe, the name of a sub chain in the Midwest, at least in Wisconsin. Apparently, Cousins Subs are a thing. National Amelia Earhart Day. It is, it was her birthday. It's crazy to think that Amelia Earhart was born in the 1800s, 1897. And today is National Drive-Thru Day. Isn't every day? National Drive-Thru Day. And today is National Thermal Engineer Day. Okay. Today on the program, lots of things to plow through. We have Blazingolia. State CFO will be joining us. I'm going to ask him about that story about Miami, cost of living and Tampa. And what's up? What, what? I mean, there's only so much government can do. But I found it troubling that the two largest areas of inflation in the nation are in Florida. And I think there are reasons for that that perhaps lawmakers can deal with. We'll talk to them about that. We've got some sound you just must hear. Got animal stories. Get you ready for what's to be Friday. Your chance to call in and complain for the first time in a few weeks. Best and worst of the week. A couple really good news stories and more. Remember, we're off Monday back Tuesday. So everybody remain calm when we're not here Monday. It's okay. You can't believe the number of email that I get. Are you okay? Did they take you off the air? Did they, did, did Iheart finally have enough? I heart never has enough ratings and revenue. You know what I'm saying? So we're here. God's grace has us here. Let's just be clear about that.
This story came from the lead research assistant. And let me just preface it by asking a question on the front end. What would you do? How would you handle it if it were you? If this happened to you. Two years ago, a guy named Kyle Bylan. received an at-home DNA test as a gift, as a gift. When he got the DNA results back, there was no DNA connection to anyone in his family. Not one thing. He said, we knew the DNA trail didn't make sense, but to find out you've been switched at birth. is a huge revelation. The data pointed to a biological aunt, leading Bylan to her nephew, Jeremy Morrison. DNA testing confirmed that Morrison and Bylan had been raised by each other's biological families.
This is 38 years ago. Morrison said my parents will always be my parents. A DNA test isn't going to change 38 years of memories overnight. I kind of had a feeling inside that I was adopted or, you know, maybe she stole me or something like that, but that doesn't necessarily mean he would change what happened. It's a little bit of nature, a little bit of nurture. You end up with the life that you have. They've not met. The two of them have chosen at this point not to meet. They both, though, filed a lawsuit against the Unity Medical Center in North Dakota for the emotional distress caused by negligence and medical malpractice claiming the facility robbed them of the lives they were meant to live. Unity Medical Center denied responsibility asserting that an internal review yielded no evidence showing hospital personnel were at fault. How could they not be at fault? While we deeply sympathize with the men and their families, we have found no evidence to support claims that Unity Medical Center or its staff were responsible for what occurred. Of course it was. Of course it was. What's going on, everyone? It's Bluff here, and you know what's more American than America's 250th birthday? I've got children that are 41 and 36 respectively. These guys are 38. I remember the protocols. There were protocols. Morrison said there are no plans in the works right now to meet their respective biological parents. They not met each other. I grew up with his entire family. He grew up with my entire family. They don't feel like they need to meet at this point. So let me go back to the question I started with. What would you do? Talk about conflicting emotions. Goodness. There are the people that have raised you. And, you know, there is a mindset out there that, for example, if you're adopted, That bind, that connection is even more powerful because you were chosen. You were chosen to be part of that family. And I've seen stories similar to this. And this is very similar to that kind of thing, right? These are not your biological family members or parents, more importantly, but they raised you. Now, it sounds like they've had parallel lives in the sense that, you know, one is not an abject poverty and the other's not in incredible wealth. They're in similar tracks, it would seem, although it's not spelled out specifically, but I'm just saying North Dakota, farm country, kind of rural. So does that have anything to do with what you might do? But what would you do? Would you want to meet your biological family and know them and start a relationship even 38 years later? And then how do you manage the feelings of these are my parents who raised me? But they're not, I mean, I just, right? This is just one of those stories that presents an emotional, moral. intellectual conundrum that I don't think there's a right answer or a wrong answer. I just, I don't think there is. But what would you do? 27 minutes pass. Big stories in the press box are coming next. I know what you should do for that. You should stick around. Features to keep you entertained. Guests and experts so you stay informed. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.
I suppose as a public service announcement, I need to just constantly say, we will be off on Monday. We will be back on Tuesday. I don't want panic to set in. Did they fire you? I mean, did they just kind of get fed up and just, I'm worried about you, Preston? I can't tell you. I'm serious as I can be. I am so appreciative of those notes when we are not here. If Grant were available, Grant would be hosting. Grant would be hosting when I'm gone if he's available. But he has a regular job and he's got a family and doesn't always work out. Grant's a great husband, a good dad. And so sometimes other things take priority. So we will be gone on Monday, but we will be back on Tuesday. And I think our next day off is Labor Day Monday. And then it's the football season. Football season will be starting. We'll have started. It's the second game of the FSU season. I mean, speaking of, Michael Alford, athletic director, will join me in studio for a State of the Knowles visit next week. Next week, right here. Right here. But big stories in the press box. Trump's policy with Iran has, I think, been whittled down to a pretty good one. Eye for an eye.
He is just flat told Iran for every ship you detain or fire at or cause a problem with in the Strait of Hormuz, we're taking out a bridge, a power plant, or some important infrastructure. One for one. You take on one ship, we're taking out a bridge. Take on another ship. We're taking out a power station. It's interesting how what I suggested the reality of the situation was when this started is where we are now. Regime change. It's now being discussed. It has to be. I know it makes people nervous. I don't care. It's what has to happen. Just that simple. Marco Rubio said it's just simple. Iran makes deals and they break them and they string things out. Yes, they string things out to reconstitute their ability to attack. Do you just stop it? Anyway, second big story. Secret Service is investigating one of the agents assigned to Vice President JD Vance because he released information to somebody about the first, well, the vice president's family's locations. So you've got a secret service agent handing out information in this case where his son was taking golf lessons. You got one job. And so there's an investigation that could lead to criminal charges. No names are being released. But yeah, that's a problem. And the third big story, an illegal alien from India driving a truck with a valid California driver's license, commercial driver's license, has been arrested and charged in Pennsylvania with stealing nearly $3 million of lethal tungsten powder. Deepak Kumar, could there be a more... Perfect name. Shipment belonged to Mitsubishi Materials Corporation. Ten pallets of tungsten oxide powder valued at 2.8 mil. Among its purposes, it can be used to make armor piercing ammunition.
He had a fraudulent New York State driver's license. He had three forms of identification, an invalid work visa, and then a valid, how is it that you're in this country illegally and you get a commercial CDL that's illegal from California? That's, I think we kick California out. I had someone suggest give me a list of reasons why Puerto Rico ought to be the 51st state. I have a better idea. Kick California out and bring Puerto Rico in. Let's keep it at 50. Simple as that. You got to listen to Larry Cudlow next. Beck. He's always been a white guy. Glenn. Beck. We got it. Licensed to talk. Nine to noon on WFLA. I want you to listen to just part. I'll cut it off at some point. Exchange. Fox business Larry Cudlow. visiting with Oklahoma U.S. Senator Steve Langford. And Cudlow had just finished a massive monologue ripping Republican senators for their inaction and inability to get things done. The leadership of the Senate is just lacking. And check out this exchange. It's marvelous. I'm sorry you had to bear the front of that opening, but I'm telling you, right now, you, the leadership in both houses are bungling everything, sir. What's going on, everyone? It's Bluff here, and we're driving through the States in the BluffMobile, and the best thing that we can do is play our favorite casino-style games on SpinQuest. They have over 1,000 games, including Live Dealer Blackjack and Crops, with tons of slots and unlimited. You can get a $30 coin pack for just $10 for new users. Sign up today. It's not per- but you're bumbling everything. Nothing is getting done. Your messaging is non-existent. You've lost your swag, your swagger, your riz or whatever the young people say. No one knows what the heck you're doing, sir. They had no idea. Yeah, you're welcome. And this is part of the challenge we've got with all of our media friends out there that continue to be able to beat up on Republicans and say Republicans are all the problem. But apparently the socialist Democrats in New York City, they seem to be perfect because most conservative media right now is beating up on Republicans. First of all, let me just pause. You've got to be kidding me. People in the conservative media are beating up on republic. Because you're not doing your job. We're not carrying your water. That's the difference between us and the liberal media. We hold you accountable.
Sir. Just ignoring the socialists who are running rampant all over the country. So I look back on what happened with the one big beautiful bill. Look at the housing bill. We just passed. There's a lot of things that are going on that are good. And I understand. Nobody has attacked Zohran Mamdani more than I have for heaven's sake. That isn't the point. I wasn't saying that just about you. I was saying this is the challenge that we're up against right now. What is it that your policy is? Senator Leibbord, my friend, what is your policy? Where are the tax cuts? Where are the spending cuts? Where's the waste fraud and corruption reduction? Where is all of that? Where is the reconciliation bill? Where's the straight talk and messaging for the midterm? That's exactly what I've been saying. Where's the messaging? I am so validated. I feel so good about myself. I really do because I feel vindicated and validated. The two Vs. V to the second power. Vindicated and validated. Validated and vindicated. No, really? And listen to the feeble wishy-washy nonsense coming out of Langford's mouth. You'll notice who we have on the show. We have Rick Scott who says, yep, I don't know what we're doing. We've lost our mind. Rick Scott tried to be the Senate Majority Leader. People didn't, people, people, people in the Senate wanted to, nope, chain of command, John Thune, John Thune is next in line. Forget that. He's a loser. He's a weak, pathetic. He does not have the requisite strength to lead. Second, look at the evidence. Look at what's not getting done. John Thune is out there. He got so mad at the press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. She or somebody else ought to get on the phone and get the votes, right? She was talking about getting the SAVE Act passed. He got so mad. You have the votes, sir. You just have to go through the filibuster or nuke it. Either way, get it done. Just remember, the Democrats who John Thune is insisting on negotiating with to get a reconciliation package done, a spending bill done, good luck with that. We still don't have a budget, by the way. You could have gotten one done. You have the majority of the House, the Senate, the White House, get a budget done for the first time. I don't know, since 98. You have the votes. It just takes leadership. And the GOP is void of leadership in the Senate. Save for people like Rick Scott and Tommy Tuberville, who we have on the show. Guests, the other shows can't book, topics they won't talk about and guaranteed human. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Next hour, we got some criminals.
animal stories and wedged in the middle, an amazing monologue from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who I am feverishly trying to get on this program. I'm going to probably have to just pick up the phone and say, hey, I always try to follow the protocols. But when that fails, sometimes I have to take measures into my own hands. I'm just kidding. Who knows whether we'll get them or not. We've also got Blazing Goli, state CFO joining us at the bottom of the next hour. We've got to get you ready for what's the beef. Jose has got his bestest suit on. I mean, literally, I walked in this morning. I actually thought I was looking at a Russian cosmonaut. And it was his, his bestest suit underneath his jacket. It's just. When I come to work each morning, I love what I do, so I'm looking forward to that. But additionally now, I look forward to the sartorial splendor that awaits me, wondering what Jose will have on. But anyway, for this segment,
I'm going to just illustrate that inside a news story, there can be another story lurking. France recorded over 5,000 excess deaths. Okay, by excess, you've got a normal baseline of people that pass away from age or accident or crime or what have you, and it averages out over a span of years and decades and so forth. They had 5,764 excess deaths in a span of just over two weeks. Heat. The heat wave that hit Europe. Temperatures in France nearly reached 110 degrees in parts of. Now, first, you would say probably elderly. Yep. Probably without air conditioning. More than likely, that played a major role. Keep in mind now, Europe is, you know, putting its nose up at air conditioning. Because of the climate. We must protect the climate.
But here's the story that's inside that story, which is a tragedy. It is one of the reasons why we provide fans for elderly people in our listening area. And many of you have started your own drives in other communities and counties adjacent to because you've seen this makes a difference. Having moving air, fan, it just, it does. Because if nothing else. You have evaporative cooling effect, right? But here's the other story that's buried within this story. Excess mortality, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Although it did not reach the levels of 2003. When a heat wave killed an estimated 14,800 people in France. 2003. That was at the, you know, that was when we were getting warnings about, you know, we're warming up and all. So it's a third less 25 years, 20 plus years into the global warming that we're experiencing. Okay. I'm just pointing out once again, it hadn't been this hot since. Exactly. And that since, fill in the blank, proves the fraud that is gorble one. Kicking off the second hour of the Friday edition of the morning with Preston Scott, show number 5643. But who's counting? I am. I am because I didn't think I'd last 30 shows. So here we are, 5,613 shows later than those 30 shows. Still, happily, blessed to be doing this. And we start, as I mentioned, with criminals. Ronald L. Fisher was Rhode Island's most wanted fugitive or among them. And the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the FBI worked together with the deputy U.S. Marshals. The, I think the Coast Guard might have played a role in this. But they tracked down, Mr. Fisher, who was convicted. After fleeing prosecution, they went to trial without him. He was convicted of first-degree sexual assault. After failing to appear for trial, remained a wanted fugitive in 2005. Where's he been? He has been on a 56-foot sailing vessel called the Silver Lining. registered under the name Richard Graydon, an alias he used. U.S. Coast Guard personnel located and intercepted the vessel about an hour offshore. He was taken in the custody without incident, and so he now will be placed in prison for a very long time. But I'm just, how does somebody in a vessel like that?
I guess they didn't know the alias he was using. It's the only thing I can think of how he evaded capture for 20 plus years. I mean, it's not like he's on a little dingy somewhere, right? I mean, 56 feet is a sporty-sized vessel. But, yeah, they finally tracked him down. But the other criminal that I want to talk about, because this once again provides a lesson to all of you. is 44-year-old Josh Felker, an engineering manager at the parent company of Facebook and Instagram. Meta? He got busted trying to for sexting and trying to meet up with a 13-year-old girl who was part of a sting operation. It was all bogus. He's married. He has a child. And here's the, oh my goodness, you're kidding me. You know what he was responsible for at Meta? Developing digital programming for kids. Meta, of course, has no comment on this, and I can understand why. The lesson here for moms and dads and custodial parents, once again. This guy wasn't talking to a kid. He was talking to a sting operation that was set up by a group that then worked with. Happy birthday, America. It's time to celebrate and play your favorite Las Vegas casino games by American-owned SpinQuest.com. What's better than fireworks than American Pie? And thankfully these things are happening out there, but it points once again to the addiction. This guy's an, he's up the corporate ladder at Meta. Married. Kid. And his addiction is so strong, even with these sting operations happening all over the country, can't help himself. Cannot help himself. I'm just telling you moms and dads, I don't care if it upsets your kid. Every password to every device, everything. laptops facing the door laptops face in the room no put down the laptop when you walk in no shut down the phone when you walk in no no no no no no no no no new you have whatever software whatever is needed it is your job to raise your kids and to keep them as safe as humanly possible
When we come back, our Secretary of State, former U.S. Senator from Florida, making us proud. Beck, you want him on that radio. America can handle the truth. You need him on that radio. Nine to noon on WFLA. I mentioned I am working hard. To get Marco Rubio back on the program, it's been a while. Marco Rubio and I go back to the early years of this radio program when he was the Speaker of the House, Florida Legislature. And you knew right away this is not the typical... Lawmaker. Personally, while I completely respect the secretary's expressed view that he will not run for president unless JD Vance decides not to. He is an infinitely better candidate than JD Vance. He just is. He would not upset me if JD Vance were to run. I would just like for voters to decide between the two of them and any other for that matter. But as you listen to this, I just want you to just, I want you to consider.
Wouldn't it be lovely to have this type of spokesman for our country in the Oval Office? For 250 years, Americans have governed ourselves as a free and sovereign people. We choose our own leaders. We determine our own laws. And when we're accused of a crime, we stand for judgment before a jury of our own peers. This is the essential and indispensable feature of our form of government. It is the foundation of our shared way of life. But today, powerful people and faraway places want to take that away from us. They believe that they should be in charge of your laws, of your country, your life, and they don't care whether or not you agree. Halfway across the world, there's an institution that calls itself the International Criminal Court. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you haven't. But chances are you don't know the names of its judges, of its prosecutors, or its president. And you shouldn't have to. But as we speak, the ICC and its friends are waging a war against our country, not with bullets or missiles, but with statutes and compacts and the force of so-called international law. When the ICC was born 24 years ago, they told us that it was merely a narrow backstop, a global court that would step in to prosecute only the gravest defenses, things like genocide and war crimes, and only when a nation's courts were unable to prosecute them on their own. But the truth is, It was something far more radical and extreme. It was a global tribunal staffed by unelected globalist bureaucrats who claim their power is almost unlimited. The danger of this global court has only continued to grow. Today it threatens every aspect of our political and legal system. Border patrol agents removing violent criminals from our country, American Marines risking their lives to defend our homeland. prosecutors working to dismantle terrorist plots to attack and kill Americans. If we stand idle, all of them would be at the mercy of foreign judges thousands of miles away, facing the constant risk of prosecution and even imprisonment for the so-called crime of defending their own country. The American people never agreed to any of this, and they never will. Read the words of our Declaration of Independence. We fought a revolution against a foreign power transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses. Independence is our birthright. We will never let foreign bureaucrats take that away from us. This administration will not sit by as the ICC and its allies seek to threaten our people. If they believe they can deprive us of our sovereignty, we will teach them the full meaning of American resolve.
I'm good with that in the Oval Office. What I love is that when you step back, we are being attacked from the outside. We're being attacked from within. But we have some people in our government that are aware and are fighting back. And Marco Rubio is one of them. Boy, I'm proud that the Secretary of State calls Florida home. Now, I've forgotten the name of your bird in there. Jose has a stuffed... You know what? It sucks to be bored. But when I get on my phone and play real casino games on SpinQuest.com, the time flies by. That two-hour wait at the DMV seems like 10 minutes. Play your favorite slots. Live blackjack, live craps with a live dealer. New players, $30 coin packs are on sale for $10. Play SpinQuest.com and you'll never be bored again. SpenQuest is a free to play social casino. Voidware prohibited. Visit spendquest.com for more details. Bird that's sitting on his microphone stand. Who is that? His name is Billy. Bill. Yep. Billy. Bill the bird. Now, you sure. I mean, birds have bills. They have beaks. Yeah, he's got this faux. Is it a parrot or is it a macaw or what? I mean, do you know? It looks like a parrot as best as they could get him to look like a parrot. He's a little. So is this a taxidermy special? Because, I mean, is this a bird you accidentally killed or something that you, you know, that was a pet and you just wanted to keep him with you? I ate him. Yeah, this is true. Okay. That's a perfect lead-in to our segment. In the wild or in our homes, we love them critters large and small. Time for another edition of Animal Stories on The Morning Show with Preston Scott. With a tip of the cap to Larry Lou Jack in Chicago, it's time for another edition of Animal Stories. Mount Dora, City has issued warnings after multiple monkey sightings. If you don't know the backstory, Wild racists, rhesus macaques have been loose in the area, not macaws, macaques, have been loose for decades. These are wild feral monkeys that are, I mean, here's what it goes back to. It's about 12 miles from Silver Springs. And... They were brought to the island as part of the whole Silver Springs thing. The operator didn't know that these things were strong swimmers. And so the fact that they were in an island didn't mean a thing. They just left the island. And so while there still might be some on the island that's operated by the state now, Silver Springs State Park, these monkeys now have spread.
And they're a thing. And so if you're in Mount Dora, do not be surprised if you see a monkey, a macaque that's loose. Golf course in British Columbia. Pit Meadows, British Columbia, Golden Eagle, not to be confused with Golden Eagle here in Tallahasse. Guys are playing around a golf. They're on the T. And out from the woods comes a... Black Bear. We noticed that bear'd come out of the bush to our right and was wandering over to our cart. Bear went to one of the golf bags, tried to open it up with his teeth, probably smelled some trail mix. I keep trail mix in my golf bag. And I'm thinking, oh, I might want to, because there are bears. There are bears in and around Tallahassee. We've seen them in, we've seen reports and photos and video in Killar and Lakes. But it couldn't get the bag open, so it just took the golf bag. Literally, the bear grabbed the golf bag and dragged it away. I guess he was a four-legged thief. Four as in four. Never mind. And speaking of bears, residents at Gold Hill in Colorado were just over it. Honking of a horn all night long. When they went to figure out who is drunk and honking the horn. They found a bear trapped inside an SUV. It couldn't get out, but it figured out that if it just leaned up against that one magic spot on the steering wheel, it could make a horn sound. And it just kept doing it all Sunday morning. Video shows the bear in the front seat leaning on the horn back just repeatedly. A smart guy found a rope, tied it to the handle of the door. It was one of those that had, you know, you can, it's not a latch. You could use a rope. And he got a very far distance away and opened the door and the bear got out. Needless to say, there was some damage inside the car. Vandal. A vandal. bear losing Colorado. So anyway, there's your animal stories. Come back. Blazingolia joins me next on the morning show with Preston Scott. Features to keep you entertained. Guests and experts so you stay informed. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.
35 minutes past the hour. Good to be with you this morning, halfway through the Friday edition of the morning show with Preston Scott. Jose over there in Studio 1A. I'm here in Studio 1B. Joined by former member of the Florida House of Representatives, then served in the Florida Senate, then was chosen by Governor Ron DeSantis to be the CFO. And he is Blaise and Goliath. Welcome back to the program. How are you, sir? I'm great, sir. How are you? I'm doing well. I'm curious as we get closer to the voting in November for the property tax amendment. You've gone around the state. You've made the case for the ridiculous spending that's been happening across the state and cities and counties. But I get the feeling that that amendment was crafted to fail. I think the legislature failed the governor. But what's your perspective on it? Well, I don't think it was necessarily crafted to fail. I would say that some of the stuff that they pulled out is going to make it a little bit harder to pass. Look, at the end of the day, it's up to the voters. I view my job is going around and really exposing how much money they are wasting compared to inflation and population growth compared to the years past. And the funny thing is, is most of the analysis that these local governments are coming out with saying that they're going to lose a certain dollar amount of revenue. If you look at my projections, it's almost, it's eerily similar of how much they're going to, quote, unquote, lose. The first thing is that that just goes to show you that they can actually cut a lot. out of their budget, reduce property. What's up, everybody? It's Bretzky. And America is turning 250. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate that than playing on an American-owned social casino, SpinQuest.com. With all of your favorite games, live craps, bubble craps, live blackjack, there's no better place to play for free and win real cash prizes. SpinQuest.com. SpenQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit SpenQuest.com for more details. taxes and not harm essential services because they were doing it just a couple of years ago. And the second thing is that any time government quote unquote loses, that means the taxpayers gain. And there's an affordability issue here in the state of Florida. So I want everyone to be clear. When you have people coming out, it's like the Democrat Party came out the other day and officially said we are against property tax cuts. You cannot argue for affordability and then say that you're not against. you are against making things affordable by cutting property taxes. That makes you a hypocrite. The problem that is being pointed out, though, is that because there is really no mechanism to keep costs from being shifted, cities and counties are going to do it. Very good. And that's the big problem here with the amendment is they didn't lock it down so that renters don't get squeezed, that property owners don't get squeezed in terms of business property.
As you look at this, I mean, look, I'm a practical guy. I've been arguing for the elimination of property tax since 2002 when I started this program, Blaze. The fact of the matter is, I don't see it passing. So with that possibility in mind, is your office looking at, okay, if this passes, we do this. If it doesn't pass as we do that because you're well-versed in the legislative process. What is out there that the legislature should consider doing to fix the amendment? If it doesn't pass, offer some things that if it does. Yeah. So actually, that's a great question. And that's my concern also. So I would say this, is that if this does not pass, then we go right back at it again. And we put another one on the ballot. And we were just going to continue to fight for property tax reform. If we do get property tax reform, the thing remains, would you just alluded to, is that these local governments are going to cost shift and they're going to raise fees and they're just going to try to not cut their budget. They're just going to draw the money in from someplace else. That's why I... and promising that at some point in the future during my tenure as CFO, and it's going to be sooner rather than later, I want to propose another constitutional amendment, which is a taxpayer bill or rights. Okay. And it would simply say that you cannot increase your budget more than inflation plus population. And if you do, then you have to refund it to the taxpayers. This will prevent all these local governments from raising fees and putting another. assessment on your property because no matter how much you look to cut from property taxes they are going to try to get the money from somewhere else because they are not fiscal responsible they do not want to be fiscal responsible and they do not want to be held accountable to the taxpayers and the only way to do that is to constitutionally restrain them from spending so tabor is a spending cap and that's what we need in the state of florida long term cfo blazing go here on the morning show with preston scott
He helped you make the argument, the communicator of common sense. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Blaise Angolia, chief financial officer for the state of Florida, my guest, for just a few more minutes. He's always been kind enough to make time for us here on the program. Blaze, I did a story yesterday where Bloomberg did a study using federal data. finding that the cost of living in the Miami metro area was 5% higher than the New York City metro area. Adding to that is that Miami's inflation rate is second highest in the country, only second to Tampa since COVID. What, if anything, can the state of Florida, can lawmakers do? to address the issues that are raising costs for, back to the key word, affordability in the state of Florida. Yeah, look, I think a lot of this goes to controlling government spending also. One of the reasons why we have inflation across the United States period is because of reckless policies coming out of Washington, D.C., specifically the trillions and trillions of dollars that were spent during COVID under the Biden administration, right? That really sparked. a lot of that that lit the fire of inflation. That's why a lot of really good fiscal conservatives are pushed back when the federal government spends that much money. But locally, what everyone has to remember is that government spending in itself is inherently inflationary. And Miami-Dade is one of the worst offenders in the state when it comes to wasting money. They're wasteful and excessive spending number for this fiscal year is close to a half a billion dollars. Their budget went up a billion dollars. Actually, their budget went up $800 million over the last three years. They hired 3,500 new government employees. for only 125,000 new people. So when you hear stories like that, my brain goes to, yeah, makes sense, government spending. So how do you fix a lot of inflationary pressures? You fix government spending. Along that same line, one of the things that I know that you've got to be addressing is tort reform. We've had some progress while you were in the state Senate. But what needs to be done to maybe put that thing in a death grip and be done with that? So it's working. It's there. I will tell you that when you look at tort reform, you have to look at the auto policies and you have to look at your homeowners policies. Auto policies are dropping precipitously. And everyone predicted that because there are six-month policies, and it's easier for those rates to actually go down. We've had three companies give a billion dollars back. Auto on the homeowners, it's actually happening. 33 states have had double-digit increases. Our increase was less than 1%. But there are...
huge stories. Now, I'm going to tell you, I had a friend of mine, he was on X, was complaining about a, that his policy was $9,200 before the year. So he sent the policy, and I asked him, I said, send me last year's deck page in the year before that. A, I found an error on his deck page, and I told him to go shop, not with his current broker, but with an independent agent, and his policy went from $9,200 down to $2,500. There are 20 new companies writing since tort reform. People may not know this, but there is a whole bunch of new companies that are willing to take your business at the same level of coverage with. dramatically less premiums. Go and shop. You'll be amazed at what you can find. But the story here is stopping all of the fraud in the system that had caused a lot of these rates to go up over the years. And we have stopped that. The question isn't as much as my policy now. It's how much could it have been if we didn't do tort reform. And I'm going to answer that question for you a lot more. Last question before I let you go, and again, I appreciate you wedging some timeout, Blaze, for us this morning. Forget whatever plans you have this weekend because you're staying at home and playing on SpinQuest. And there's never been a better time to sign up than right now. If we were to, I don't know, um, If we were to address all of these different issues, what's left to be done? One of the things that you and I talked about the last time you were on the show was the potential of auditing the school districts across the state and seeing because, you know, for example, here in Leon County, they're trying to raise money to pay teachers when in fact their staffing is way overboard on the district level. Yeah. Where are you on that and what's left to be done in your mind over the issues you've already been addressing? So we're going to continue doing legislative reforms. We're going to keep on proposing constitutional amendments. I will get this done. I'm not going to stop fighting. As far as school boards, we are in a process of putting school boards into two different buckets, ones that just get funded by the state through the FDFB. And another one, the bucket is the ones that have all this extra miller rate and sales tax.
And that's where we're seeing a lot of this excess. But I will tell you that sometime in September, we are going to roll out as show my long-term commitment to this to fiscal sanity and fiscal prudence. We are going to roll out every single county, 67 counties in the top 25 cities in the state of Florida population. And we are going to expose all of the wasteful spending numbers at once for them. Not only are we going to compare their spending to inflation and population, we're going to compare them to each other. So when one city or county says, yeah, but, but we have, Tallahassee makes us do this or we have this. Well, so to other counties. How can other counties their city be fiscal responsible and you not? So we're going to pull the, we're going to pull the curtains back on a lot of the spending in September, so just stay tuned. Do the cities and counties know this is coming because I love it? I'm sure they do because we've been asking for a lot of their information. And I will say this, is that generally the counties are much, much worse than the cities, which is sort of like the opposite of what you would think city spending would be worse. But on average, cities actually do a little bit better than the counties. I'll bet you you find the opposite here, but we'll wait and see. I would pay money to be in the room when you send an email out saying, hey, friends, this stuff is coming in September. Just let you know. Blaze, thanks for the time this morning. You're welcome anytime. You got it. Take care, guys. Blazingolia. State CFO. Did you hear that? A taxpayer bill of rights? Oh, come on. Let's get some of that. See what that does. That's the constitutional amendment that has the most heft to it because it limits cities and counties. They just can't do it. They're not allowed. They can't just indiscriminately keep raising. This has to include the schools, though. That's, we got to get to the schools. We got a lasso in the school districts. 48 minutes past the hour in the morning show with Preston Scott. Morning show with Preston Scott. They're going to get a, I, I'm just, we, we, knock, knock, who's there? On WFLA.
You know there's got to be a new Austin Powers movie coming. Wouldn't you agree number two? There just has to be. They're teeing it up. They got most of the gang back together in the Verizon commercials. Dr. Evil pushing the button killed them all. It's got to happen. Big stories in the press box. Yeah, I know. Wait, what? It's not the bottom of the eye. I know. I blazing gole you with me. We shuffle things around. What do you think of Trump's policy? Eye for an eye. You attack a tanker. You attack a ship that's making its way through the Strait of Hormuz. We're going to take out a bridge. You do it again? We're going to take out a power plant. Do it again? We're going to take out another bridge. or another power plant or something else you don't want to lose. We are getting right where I told you was the inevitable place we had to be. It makes everybody uncomfortable. What business is it of ours what Iran does? Well, because they're developing a nuclear weapon and they want to take Israel out of existence. They will 100% drop a bomb on Jerusalem. They're not going to destroy the Dome of the Rock. Want to bet? They believe they're obligated to end Israel to remove the Jews. This is a grudge that goes back to Isaac and Ishmael, friends. This is just, it is what it is. And these are the realities that so many people don't want to deal with. Well, we can't get into nation building. Well, I'm sorry, we have to. I'm not, we're not dealing with Islamic jihadis are not rational people. They raise children to blow themselves up so they can go to Allah. People, come on, wake up. I'm slapping you. No. Secret service bungling it again, this time giving up the location. One agent gave up the location of members of the JD Vance family. Why? What was that about? That's just, that's a brutal breach of protocol. And I'm still not over Butler. I'm still not over that. All right, it's what's to be Friday. What do you want to complain about? 850-205 WFLA. It's been a couple weeks. You should have plenty. We should not be begging for calls today. My synchronized swimming routine here. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. What's the B Friday? Friends, your chance to call in. Unbelievably, I have a singular line open, and it's offensive to me. I can't believe it. So call now 850-205 WFLA. The line can be yours. We have two simple rules. Don't use profanity. And don't make it personal. If you have a bad experience at a business, tell us about it. Leave the name of the business out of it. We're not here to hurt. We are here to help facilitate a kinder, gentler community. Can you hear the warmth in my voice? Can you? You can feel the hug, can't you? It's just a warm embrace. One line is still open. But I'll begin. Greg is standing by. Good morning. Greg, welcome. What's the beef? Good morning. I didn't think I'd call today, but right now... Riley Gaines needs to wrap upside the head, Megan Rapino, after her embarrassing appearance on the view. She was saying that transgender women is harming women and not women's sports. And then this Creighton also said that the Heritage Foundation is going after Title IX. Sorry, sister. That's what the Supreme Court did when they ruled 9-0, that Title IX was written for biological females, which means lesbians are protected, but transgender women are not. And finally, for those morons who are trying to conflate the jabs from...
Secretary of the War Pete Hegseth for testosterone, well, that's what you have the anti-doping agency for. It's just a test. It doesn't mean they're going to get jabbed. Thank you very much. Greg, appreciate the call, and I really appreciate the use of the word Cretans. I thought I was one of the few out there still that had it in his lexicon, so I appreciate that. 850-205 WFLA. Come on, rally troops. Let's go. Ron, you're up. What's the beef? Good morning, Mr. Preston, and thank you. Thank God for what you do. But my beef is with, I've been seeing a commercial about this phone system that's free, federally funded for nothing, nothing on Medicare or your insurance is paid for by federal funds, which is taxpayer dollars. It's for a display phone. If you can't hear well, it will display out the words. What the flip-flop? I mean, can't you get a hearing aid? Why do I have to pay for a phone so you can call your grandson or your doctor or your boyfriend next door? I don't care. Whatever. But that's, you know, since we're on the budget today, it was a great interview with the guy you had on there from Florida. But... Thank you, Ron. There is no shortage of the bleeding that our economy is doing with waste. Waste. Waste, waste, waste, waste, shame, shame. Yep. Gomer Pilot. It's just, it's awful. It is, it is awful, the things that we throw money away at. Thanks for calling in, Ryan. Good to hear your voice, of course. Let's go to Pat. Hi, Pat. Thanks for calling in. What's the beef? Hey, man. Beef's a bit strong. Mine's what I overheard you say something pessimistic about the property tax vote. Yeah. And what kills me about people is that you're not voting yes or no to lower your taxes. You're voting yes or no to raise them. And Austin County, Leon County, they have plans in the works to raise your taxes. And, you know, if it was just the property taxes going up, you know, $100 a year, that'd be one thing. But, man, I just got my renewal for my insurance company. They're a great insurance company. I won't mention their name, but their initials are USAA. They're raising my rates $2,000 a year. And finally, there's a candidate running for governor. I won't mention his name, but his initials are Brian Daniel. He's running out of platform. I'll eliminate property taxes. That is well beyond his purview. I don't get this.
I hate it when they play to be informed and the disinformed or misinformed. Anyway, have a great weekend. Thank you. Thanks, Pat. Appreciate you calling in. Matt is up. Then Jane. What about you? We've got two lines open now. 850-205 WFLA. It is What's the Beef Friday? It's been a couple weeks, I know, but let's go. Call now on the morning show. Morning show with Preston Scott. Go ahead. Make my day. On News Radio 100.7, WFLA. Matt, then Janie will be joining us. Let me throw a line out to the online listeners. Normally, you guys are in like a 10, 15 second delay. At least, it might be more. But I got two lines sitting here open. So what do you say? Some online callers from outside the area. Let's go. Come on. 850-205 WFLA. 850-205-9352. Matt, thanks for being patient. You're up. What's the beef? Hey, thank you. Yeah, this is an inside caller. And, you know, sometimes I love listening to somebody's callers, especially one, you know, kind of brings back memories of cross between Les Nestman and Mr. Rogers. It's so fun. But anyhow, you know, I've got a simple deal. It's happy Friday. I hope everybody has a blessed Friday. And please, everyone, let's just go to the speed limit. Can you kind of step it on a little bit more? Just just. You know, when you see the parade behind you, that means let's move the parade a little bit quicker. We're getting populated, and there's so many cars on the road now, and our management system is not building the roads that we probably need, but we could move a little bit faster and set the pace at a little grander scale. That's all I got to say. It's Friday. I love it all. Thank you. Hey, Matt, before you leave me here, what city are we talking about, Tallahassee, Leon County area? Hell, I see. Highway 90, you can't drive Highway 90 anymore. I swear to goodness. Okay. It's getting to be tough. I got you. Thanks very much. I appreciate it. Yeah, I mean, I can't endorse just rampant speeding. But he raises a great point. We do have people, it's like a little awareness, I guess is what he's talking about. Just a little awareness. Don't be a left lane Nazi. move over and if you miss your turn take your medicine go around don't stop and wait for traffic and then move over three lanes okay that boy that just janey thanks for calling in what's the beef hey good morning what do you got for me I am calling because I have a daughter that goes to a daycare in Tallahassee, a very reputable daycare. And there is a transgender that works there. Uh-oh.
She's a female and is now turned into a male, and she is taking care of little kids. I don't know if I'm allowed to say the name. No, no, let's leave the name out of it because. That's what I figured. Yeah. But I got big beef with it, and I've tried talking to them about it, and they can't do anything. So I just think it's incredibly inappropriate to have a transgender taking care of little babies. One-year-olds, two-year-olds, three-year-olds, four-year-olds, and I am just appalled and disgusted by it. Let me just ask you, are you looking at moving? Moving daycares? Yes. Yeah, yeah, I would think so. Jamie. Yeah, this is, boy, that's troubling news. Janie, thanks very much for calling in. And, you know, you'd understand why I'm not going to put the name out there because it's probably apparent to anyone that uses that daycare. And everyone's got to make that own decision. I personally think that's mental illness. And I would not have my child with somebody that I believe is mentally ill. I don't care. I'm sorry if that offends. I think that is the... height of loving other people is to say hey you need you need some help i'm not hating on anybody but um yeah wow okay richard you're going to be first when we come back what about you we have time for you i can promise three more people plus richard time on the radio program by calling now but you got to call now 850 205 WFLA 85020252. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. WFLA at WFLFLAFFFM.com on your phone with the IHeart Radio app and on hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox, and Sonos, and IHeart's radio station. Time to get back at it. We've got time for at least four more calls, and coincidentally, we have four callers standing by. Just remember the number 850-205 WFLA. It's What's the Beef Friday? Richard, you are up. Thank you for being very patient with me. What's the Beef? Morning, Preston. How are you? Great. Okay, your first caller, I've got kind of touch on what he had said about the sports. things we've got going on. Now, what I heard this week, and I don't know if you heard it, one state, and I apologize, I can't remember what it was, they're going to start going to DNA testing, and I know you advocate for that. Yep. My beef is, why have we gotten to this point in this country? So that's my beef. You have a good week. I'm going to hear what you've got to say. Have a good weekend, but that's my beef. Thank you, Richard. I appreciate it. In my opinion, we are where we are because of sin. We have wandered away from God and because things that are common sense have been inverted. And if you go back to the root of all sin and you get to Satan, Satan is the counterfeit. Everything that he touches is counterfeit.
He claims that he is God and that he can make his throne above God and that he is the man. You know what? It sucks to be bored. But when I get on my phone and play real casino games on SpinQuest.com, the time flies by. That two-hour wait at the DMV seems like 10 minutes. Play your favorite slots. Live blackjack, live craps with a live dealer. New players, $30 coin packs are on sale for $10.00. Play SpinQuest.com and you'll never be bored again. SpenQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit spendquest.com for more details. And so everything that he touches is an effort to counterfeit God. and everything that God creates. And we are God's image bearers. And the transgender movement is about counterfeit, counterfeit men, counterfeit women. And so that's what I would say to it. But thank you very much for calling in. I appreciate it. Let's go to Tim. Hi, Tim. You are up. What's the beef? Good morning. My beef is with the city of Tallahassee. early buyout that they recently did and gave people thousands of dollars to retire early because I guess it was supposed to cut down the budget. But then this week they had a thing on there where all they, there were like, I think, three assistant police chiefs all retired early, got all this money, and they just promoted new people into it. Now, I'm not fussing at the police department at all, but the city of Tallahassee, why did they spend all this money? And then they're just going to replace all these people and pay them the same thing, and they were paying somebody else. Well, I can't answer the specifics of that. I don't know if they're paying them the same, but I know that overall they're reducing overall staffing. And what that means inside the police department, I can't tell you that. I'm not certain about it. I think it's a fair question. You know, the bigger question is, why is it that cities and counties are spending so much more money than they were just five or six years ago? Amen. But I don't have the answer for it, Tim. That's what Blazing Goley is talking about. He's going to publish in September where the cities and counties are spending, what they're spending, and compare them all. And hopefully he'll put what it should be. Where we need, we need a levy. We need a cap on what they can spend, a levy cap. And that what they spend it on is up to them. And that's where voters come in. But we need to put a cap. We need to give cities and counties an allowance and say spend it wisely. Laura, you're up. What's the beef? Hey, Preston. Thank you so much. My usual beef now that I'm having to select a judge to vote for, I cannot figure out. You've mentioned in years past what organization in Florida will tell us they've reviewed them, but I have spent again so much time trying to figure out which judge.
ought to be elected to these positions, and it's so frustrating, especially with the activist judging judges we have to deal with these days. The best place historically, and I've not checked in this election cycle, is the Florida Family Policy Council. They have a political wing that does judicial reviews. And if they make a recommendation, follow it. If they don't, they'll give you the best choice possible if there is one. Okay, great. I just wrote it down. Thank you so much. And your interview with Blaze was fantastic, and you've been doing incredibly good interviews and informative things that we need so much over this last several months. So thank you. Well, thank you. And, Laura, you would think that after 5,643 shows, I'd get it right eventually. And I'm getting closer. I'm getting closer to getting it right. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting closer. Robert, you're the final caller. What's the beef? My beep is with motocross taking over Grady County and Cairo, or Grady County. Our commission have passed an ordinance that anybody with an acre of land can put in a motocross track. They're very disturbing, and in my opinion, everybody in Grady County could attend the county commission meetings. and find out what's going on, what's being passed, and what's happening to Grady County people, actually, neighborhoods. So I would say everybody needs to attend your Grady County meetings. Thanks very much. I appreciate it, Robert. That's a ticklish one because you have property rights, but are you within an HOA? HOAs have limitations on things. And so it all depends on some of that. And it's a delicate balance. But I'm sensitive to the idea that you didn't mean for there, you didn't move where you're moving for there to be a motocross track in your... in your area and they're not they're not quiet we're not talking electric ATVs more than likely golf carts jumping over berms and all that but um yeah thanks very much for the call when we come back the best and worst of the week good news dad joke headlines from the bee what a what a final half hour here on the morning show with president scott
Morning show with Preston Scott. You're mocking me, aren't you? Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. On News Radio 100.7, WFLA. Time for the best and worst of the last week or two. Jose, what you got? All right. Mine is actually two of the same, same same. This movie that I watched recently that I'm just infatuated with now. It's called Isle of Dogs. You ever heard of it? No. It's a Wes Anderson movie. I thought it was a Cesar Milan movie. No, no, but it's such a great movie. And the worst is I've been so detached from movies and keeping up with them that it took me eight years. to find out this movie existed. Wait, it's eight years old? Yeah, yeah. How did you come across the movie? I saw a little clip of it on YouTube, and I was like, I got to check this out. Yeah, it reeled me in. And, yeah, I thought it was just, you know, silly YouTuber doing something, but nope, it's a West Anderson film. Okay. Good stuff. My worst of the week is those Tai Chi chair ads for fat old men. They got that Asian dude, right? Oh. They usually have someone saying, does Tai Chi work for, you know, I'm 53 years old and I'm fat? Oh, you're the perfect person to get Tai Chi. And then I find print. that some of the images are AI generated. Oh, you think? So they take these fat dudes and they go, it's based on true stories, but the images are AI generated. Uh-huh. Yeah, because there's not a chance that those guys are looking ripped like that in 30 days. It's not happening. Not happening. But it's worth seeing the ads just to, whoa.
My best of the week, national anthems being played, Cubs Twins baseball game. And this older gentleman is standing and singing and there's a kid, a teenager, maybe early 20s, sitting down. And the guy just goes, bang, and smacks him on the back of the head and says, get up. And the dude does get up. He's in shock. I call it the best of the week because someone's saying enough. Quit disrespecting our country. But. I'll put it back into my worst of the week category because I wouldn't advocate just smacking some dude in the head because they're not standing during the national anthem because then what happened was they're in this little discussion and then another couple that think it's fine to be seated for the national anthem even though they were standing they get involved and it's like now you're all talking during the anthem. So I think the better move would have been wait for the I've done this at a high school event. I walked over and sat with some kids that were sitting and talking during the anthem. And I had a chat with them and I talked to them about my dad and my brother. And I just wanted them to understand that I consider it very disrespectful. And I bet there are other people in this room that have lost a loved one or had loved ones that served this country. And I would appreciate it if you'd stand next time. Now, I think that's a better way to go. Have a talk with them. It may not work, but I don't think you smack them in that. And even though everybody loved it, man, people were loving that this guy just whopped him on the head. 40 minutes past. Still serving as the mayor of Realville and dispensing information at the speed of sound. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.
All right, public service announcement before we get to the good news stories. Plural, huh? Uh-huh. We will be off on Monday. Don't panic. Everybody remain calm. We will be back on Tuesday. One of our kids is coming in town this weekend. I'm taking an extra day off just to spend a little extra time. I'm going to be off on Monday. But the good news is it's the last day off I plan on taking until Labor Day, which is a company holiday. And that'll be the last day I plan on taking until around Thanksgiving. There might be one more day, you know, wedged in there. But, you know, we... We have to use our time off or lose it. You can't bank it and cash it out. You just got to use it or lose it. And so I hope you understand. I've been with this company long enough that I am afforded a good bit of time off. And so I'm going to take it for a good reason. So I just want to let you know. These are two stories that have a connecting point. Two young men. that cared for somebody else that they did not know and probably saved a life each one of them in the first case 75 year old Teresa Morgan was writing was was out just wandering around Gilbert, Arizona, but it was over 100 degrees. And she was just out wandering. Well, she has dementia. And she had gotten out and was just... And a 14-year-old boy, Royal Cothran, was riding his bike. And he spotted her, and he rode up to her and talked with her.
and realized there was a problem here. And so he led her over to some shade and was able to track down a phone number and was able to get her family. And paramedics arrived and probably saved their life. Her son said, it's incredible really what he did, just so lucky, so fortunate that he ran across her. and cared enough to stay with her and take care of her. The Gilbert Fire Department and Air National Guard both honored him as a hero. Our second story is about Jory Thomas. He and his family were camping near Yellowstone. He's a teenager. And I've been down the Yellowstone River. And there was a group rafting and some others on a paddleboard, and they hit a pillar of a bridge, and the raft turned over, got knocked off a paddleboard, the current. They just underestimated the current pulling them into that pillar. They got thrown out. Three of the people made it to shore, but there was a man that was dazed and was struggling. Jory heard the cries for help. And this young kid brought his rope because he knows how to lasso. One try. He lassoed the man floating in the river and was able to bring him ashore to safety. I mean, my goodness. He waded out in the water, emptied his pockets, went out in the water, got a good base, whew, whew, wham, and threw a dime right there. And save that man. He's been roping less than a year. Actually started really getting to roping this year. Went to Brandings and started roping cattle then, and I started getting better. Every afternoon when it cools off, I go off and rope the roping dummy. He said, God basically put me in the place of all this. God was telling me all this time, just go get him. You got it. I love it. I mean, come on. First of all, let's just set this right up front. These are two young men that were raised. to care for others. And they didn't hesitate when the time came. And that, my friends, is good news. Before we get to a dad joke in our headlines from the B,
