Progressive knows you think the grass is always greener. Like maybe you ride a motorcycle. But today, it's raining. So you wish you had an RV. But if you did, you'd have to listen to some guy parked next to a campsite play as acoustic guitar. Now before you start wishing you had a boat, remember your brother-in-law would invite himself every weekend. Permission to come aboard, captain. But one thing that is greener is the money you could save when you bundle your RV, boat, or motorcycle with your home or auto with Progressive. And by the way, let's call this as it is. This is a communist wing of the Democrat Party right now. And these mainstream Democrats keep telling us that, It's a big tent. Democrat Party is a big tent. Don't worry about these Democrats socialists. It's just a MAGA conspiracy. These people are not a threat. Right? You've heard it. Well, don't let them fool you. These Democrat socialists, and let's call them what they are, they're communists, but these types of people used to be kind of snickered at here in the country, right? Just because they operated on the fringes of American society, they were the freaks, if you will. They were the freaks. spout off, let them blow off steam because there's no way in the United States of America that they would amount any sort of threat, a challenge to our democracy in our free market economy, an economy that has catapulted the United States to being the world's superpower. Well, don't look now, but that communist wing of the Democrat Party is getting bigger. and bigger and more influential. And I know we keep hearing that these Democrats socialists are winning elections in deep blue areas, right? Like New York City and Chicago and Minneapolis and Seattle and Colorado. But there's no way these communists could become mainstream, right? I mean, come on. Well, case in point, look at what is happening in Wisconsin right now. By the way, Wisconsin, very important swing state. President Trump won the last two elections there in the Badger State. Well, a so-called Democratic Socialist is now leading in the Democrat primary for governor, a recent Marquette University Law School poll.

showing 37-year-old Francesca Hong either trailing or tied with Republican Tom Tiffany in Wisconsin's closely watched gubernatorial contest. Hong is a three-term state legislator receiving 26% of primary voters' support while former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes received 15%. And by the way, when the second choices of those who supported Lieutenant Governor Sarad Rodriguez, who quit the race after the poll was conducted, were allocated. among other Democrats, Hong support grew to 27 percent and Barnes moved to 18 percent. By the way, among Democratic primary voters there in Wisconsin, the poll also showed that 45 percent had not chosen a candidate as of yet. So I think what is happening in Wisconsin, in other parts of the country like New York and Seattle and Colorado and Chicago is far from being an outlier now. It's happening all over the country. As a matter of fact, nearly one third of Democrats say that they want to see Democratic Socialists in office. 32% of Democrats indicate they like Democratic Socialists politicians compared to just 11% who don't and 56% who say they have no strong opinions on them. This is according to a survey from Pew Research recently. And get this, among self-described liberal Democrats, okay? 52% like politicians who identify as Democratic Socialists, while 4% dislike them and 43% don't have an opinion. Again, 52% of Democrats like politicians who identify as Democratic Socialists, i.e. communists. Wow. Never did I think. I would see this happen in the United States of America. But here it is, folks. Here it is. And get this, the communist wave is being led by rich white liberals. And we'll touch on this coming up later. But in this poll, white democratic support for the socialist wing is at 40%. That's nearly double that of... Black people at 21% and Hispanic Democrats at 20%. Four in 10 upper income Democrats also say they like Democratic Socialists compared to 34% of middle income Dems and 24% of lower income Democrats. So that leads me to the question as to why this is happening. Why do the Democratic Socialists now go from fringe whack nuts to actually making headway into the American political system? Well, here's what I think is going on here. Number one, I think what we're seeing right now with these Democratic socialists on the rise has much to do with the continued decay of American society. Let's call it like it is. And believe me, I am not making excuses for younger people who believe in this communistic nonsense. But on paper, the younger folks, the Karl Marx popularized adage from each according to his ability to each according to his needs, rings a bell for these folks. Younger people see an appeal to Marx because on paper, yep, it sounds good. But the problem is they don't know their history. Obviously, they don't know about the tyranny that communism has brought about the world, whether it has been the old Soviet Union, Mao's China, Castro's Cuba. Let's go ahead and just ignore the tyranny part, the death, the despair, the destruction, wreaked upon hundreds of millions of people throughout our history. Let's just ignore that, right?

And let's go ahead and say, well, you know what, they had the right horse. Those societies just didn't have the right jockeys riding, said horse. What a load of crap that is. But I also think there is something deeper going on here, and that is when the natural anchors of faith in God, in family, in tradition, and community, when they all disappear. You get a vacuum. And that's where we are right now with these younger people. They're searching for something. Look, my generation was told growing up, you have to make your way in the world. If it is to be, it's up to me, right? That nobody was going to give you anything in life. Well, these younger generations were not told that. As a matter of fact, they were told the exact opposite. These are younger people who grew up getting participation trophies, right? They grew up hearing about equity and inclusion. They grew up being lied to. And it's no wonder why they don't get the concept that life is hard. Life is hard. Deal with it. They don't get that. So that's number one. Secondly, I want to call it like it is here. Our education system sucks. It does. I'd like to be more eloquent there, but there's no other way to put it. The American education system is horrible, both at the high school level and at the university level. For decades, schools have encouraged kids to mistrust their bodies, their families, their histories, their faith in God. And these people were given identity politics instead of an identity. They were given a list of political grievances instead of purpose. And now we wonder why they want to belong to the machinery of the state. And this indoctrination of young people in our schools begins earlier and earlier every year. And instead of forming free people anchored in reality, we've created these anxious, sort of rootless, social media-obsessed young people who are desperate for somebody to tell them who they are. And thirdly, this is not just a socialist movement driven by younger people. As a matter of fact, this is largely being driven by the leftist social elites of this country. You got that right. Older white liberals, especially in the Northeast and in Hollywood, are driving what's going on right now in our political system. I think the common thought is to blame younger people and to blame minorities or the working class for this surge in the belief of socialism. No, no. This is very much being driven by elite whites, the champagne socialists, if you will. Think about it. For the wealthy elite on the left, how difficult is it? to advocate for more wealth distribution when you already have your hundreds of millions in the bank. The reality is that these same individuals who are the most vocal in their support for socialism are the very folks who benefit most from capitalism, which to you and me make zero amount of sense. But these same people who have those millions and hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank decry the very system that has allowed them to prosper. It makes no sense. That's why these folks are not well. They are not mentally well. They continue to amass their riches and live in these lavish homes insulated from the very problems they claim to care about. Again, there's something really wrong mentally and emotionally with these people. And of course, let's not ignore one other factor here. This is a group of people who suffer from Trump derangement syndrome.

Let's not forget that Donald J. Trump being in these people's heads has, I believe, a lot to do with these white elitists supporting socialism. Remember when Governor Ron DeSantis here in Florida sent those 50 Venezuelan migrants up to Martha's Vineyard a couple of years ago and within like a day those immigrants were on their way back to the mainland? Truth is, the white elitists who live on Martha's Vineyard did not want those people in their backyard. That's the mentality we're talking about here. So I'm sure there are many more reasons why we're seeing this growth in the belief that socialism is the answer to America's woes. But all one has to do is look at history. And that will tell you all you need to know about the evils that socialism and communism bring to a society. That's going to wrap it up for this edition of the Inez Says podcast. Join me on the radio every weekday morning. Orlando's morning news with Scott Inez 5 to 9 a.m. on DBO 107.3 FM and AM 580. I'll see you next time. Progressive presents the Museum of You. We begin our tour with a unique piece, a relic from the early big screen television era. Remarkable. Next, we find a juicer which historians believe has only ever been used once. And finally, compact discs from the emo era. A rare find indeed. Some things should be history, but until then, you could protect what's important to you and save by bundling your auto insurance with a renter's policy from Progressive.
