I mean, insanely expensive to do. We've done stories where homeless shelters, well, people go into shelters, that's very temporary too. But permanent housing can be $500,000 a unit. How is it possible that developers can do it for $200,000 a unit? Because developers don't need space for additional help, for rehabilitation, for mental health services. And it has to be done with the city. Inside Safe, which is the mayor's signature homelessness program, has moved more than 6,000 people into hotels, motels, interim housing, which is very interim. And since she took office in December of 2022. And by May 31, the problem is 41 of those people were back to homelessness and back on the street. And that's the other issue, that people who are homeless, a good percentage of them, they want to stay homeless. I've told you the story about my brother's ex-fiancee, who we found on the street. Just found her on the street. She was living on the street and was obviously had some very, very rough time. She'd been on the street for three years. And I've done a story about what she went through and how people live. And it, you know, I talk about people being on the street in the abstract because we really don't know what it's life. Talking to her, man, the stories, the war stories are incredible. Point of this is that she ended up in, in self, Section 8 housing. And she had a very small studio and would invite her buddies who were on the street to go in and, uh, stay with her for a matter of weeks or months on the floor, which is not particularly legal, but to get them out of the outside, get them out of the rain, get them out of the cold, get them out of the heat, because the place was air-conditioned. The majority went back to the street. That's where they live. That's where they exist. That's where their mindset is. So you've got that issue, too, which no one talks about. The bottom line is, is she trying? Yeah. Is it possible? I think it's only incrementally better, when it is better. The amount of money that it would take, I mean, the resources we would have to devote to make a huge dent in this would be just extraordinary. Or we make small little inroads. We go up little bits and pieces and it will only take 100 years to deal with it. Okay, moving on with the topic at hand, and that has to do with the Abraham Accords and a deal that was just cut by the United States and Saudi Arabia signed. And it had to do with allowing Saudi Arabia to engage in enriching uranium or bringing in uranium that was not weapons grade, effectively civilian use of nuclear power. And Saudi Arabia, and people are saying Saudi Arabia got better into this deal because the deal did not involve, for example, inspection by international inspectors and left open how far the Saudis could go in enriching the uranium. So the deal was good for Saudi Arabia, to say the least. Well, the president, after signing the deal, said, oh, yeah, by the way, you have to join the Abraham Accords.

And this is, and by the way, I think what the president did is a great thing. I wish he had made that a part of the signature, part of the plan. And he didn't, although now he says he did. And I love that idea. What are the Abraham Accords? The Abraham Accords were set up by this administration. So Arab countries, Mid-East countries recognize the state of Israel. Obviously, Benjamin Netanyahu and Israelis are all in favor of this. And why is that important? Well, let's go back to 1948 when the state of Israel was founded. Israelis and the Arab countries around them, and there were at that point, I think, 6,800,000 people lived in Israel, as against 60 million people lived in the Arab countries, all of which were dead set against Israel becoming a state, a sovereign country. And then, of course, we know the story about the Israeli War, the War of Independence, and the 67 War, the Six-Day War, and then the Yom Kippur Wars, and what happened with the incursions into Lebanon, into Gaza, by Israel, the peace accords that happened with Egypt, where the Sinai went back after the 67 War, and Egypt was the first country to recognize the state of Israel, and the other countries have not. and a word about the Abraham Accords, why they make so much sense. Well, let me put it this way, why countries in the Mideast are not joining. the Abraham Accords and are not recognizing Israel. Oh, Saudi Arabia was just about to normalize relationship. They were at the edge of establishing the recognition and establishing diplomatic relations with Israel. And then the October 7th, the terrorist attack hit. And that just put everything on, put the entire plan off. So why is it so important? And I'm going to go into why the president is pushing the Abraham Accord and why I believe that he's not only on the right of track, I think he is the only person to actually be able to make this happen. And if the Mideast is recognizing every other country, what does Iran do at that point? Because... The reason that Saudi Arabia is not recognizing Israel is because they have to give lip service to Palestinian rights in the Palestinian state, to state system. It will change nothing, where in accord with Israel changes everything. Saudi Arabia has to say, we are on the side of Palestinians as a matter of just Arab unity. although the Palestinians aren't Arab. And so it is a political statement that has to be made because of the feeling of Arab nations. Outside of Saudi Arabia, by the way, Jim Jordan recognizes Israel. Now you have a lot of the Mideast country, the Emirates, Oman, recognize Israel. I mean, that's the wave of the future. And what Saudi Arabia has to do is join the Abraham Accords because the real enemy there is Tehran. It's not Israel, and they know it.

They know it. If Tehran does what it wants to do, and that is take over the entire Middle East, the first people are going to go are going to be, is going to be the Saudi royal family. They'll be hanging from construction cranes. I mean, within a matter of hours, if Iran is successful. And they want to take over all of that area of the Middle East. They are into establishing their theocracy. Saudi Arabia is particularly interested in increasing its land. You know, moving people into its religious philosophy, which is pretty weird, by the way. Saudi Arabia has some really strong, man, their version of Islam is pretty insane. They practice something called Wahhabism or Wahibism. And it's pretty crazy, although it's getting more liberal. But the point is, the president is saying, for stability in that part of the world, join the Abraham Accords. He is pushing like crazy. And the Mideast, they know that Iran is their enemy. By the way, Saudi Arabia and Israel have been dealing with each other for decades and decades. There's all kinds of trade that goes on. It's just not official. It goes through Cyprus. Saudi Arabia buys military, they get military aid or they buy military parts equipment from Israel, but goes through Cyprus. And it's some Cyprus company that made up, some shell company. So it's already there. And I think you have to give kudos to the president. The problem is, I don't know why it wasn't part and parcel of the original deal. And he has said, okay, we signed the deal, but here's the real deal. You have to join the Abraham Accords. And I think those are, you know, I have to give the president tremendous kudos for that for, I think doing more than anybody to make the Middle East a more peaceful place in terms of Israel and just the geopolitical scene. At this point, he is touting. He is talking about Iran and how the United States is on its way to make sure Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon. Remember when he pulled out of the deal that Obama had in 2009? At best, he's going to go there. At best. So I think good news, sort of. I wish that the deal, that this signatory, this treaty between Israel, between the United States and Saudi Arabia, had included the Abraham Accords previous to the signing, but it wasn't. But it's still, I think, long term it works well. And the president has to be given credit for this. There's no question about it.

Okay, got it. That made some sense, I guess. All right. Now, George Gascon, boy, what an L.A. County prosecutor he was, former district attorney George Gascon. And the county has just approved nearly $14 million in legal payouts to 10 county prosecutors who are accusing, have accused Gascon and his administration of demoting them or retaliating against them. when they questioned his criminal justice reforms, which were kind of insane. Also, at this point, more than $3.2 million in legal fees have been paid by the county because they often bring in outside counsel. And nine more settlements are in the works right now. Yep. And look at the people who have gotten these payouts. Some have gone to well-known and long-tenured lawyers who have successfully prosecuted some of L.A.'s most notorious criminals. All of this came as the current district attorney, Nathan Hochman, is working to undo the changes of Nathan Hochman. who was making LA County District Attorney's Office into the nation's largest experiment in progressive criminal justice reform. Now, there was a huge dilemma and debate as to what Gascon was doing, because there are a group of people who believe that our criminal justice system is unfair, that it marginalizes people. that poor people don't have the same benefit as people who have money in terms of the criminal justice system. By the way, poor people also don't have the same benefit of cars, homes, food, clothing, education as people who have money. So welcome to the world. And so Gascon, former LAPD, by the way, and was the DA for San Francisco, he campaigned on the idea that the law and order tactics that were used by the police and are used by the police and the prosecutor's office undermine public safety and harmed disproportionately poor and marginalized communities. But so does society. I have to tell you within that. So he is sworn in on December 7th, 2020. And Gascon, within hours, issued some directives in his quest to make the DA's office fairer and more, well, defendant-friendly, I would say. The directives, and this is what I love. included, number one, ending the prosecution of minors and teens as adults. Adults are 18 years old. And if someone is arrested or convicted of a crime at 17 years, 11 months, and 29 days cannot be tried as an adult.

Where here it's a case by case. I think anybody over 16, according to the law, can be tried as an adult. And let me tell you, some 17-year-olds and 16-year-olds commit some pretty heinous crimes. My favorite is that the criminal justice system is not going to refer to language that really debases people like inmate or criminal. You can't do that. So it reminds me of Disneyland where there are no janitors or people working behind the counters. They are cast members. You go to Target. They are not salespeople. They are, I think, customer representatives. What is the word they use? No customers anymore. Those don't need us anymore. So we have to use, no felons, by the way. Felons are simply people who are judicially challenged. Neil, there are no more bald people in this world. All we have are people who are folliculically challenged. We prefer extremely handsome. Yes, we do. I mean, that's how crazy he was. And he introduced policies to minimize prison sentences. And career prosecutors, veteran administrators, I mean, they took these new blanket policies and argued they were illegal, unethical. There was an effort to recall Gascon, didn't work. And so he lost his election in 2024, his bid for re-election. 23 employees of the A's office have filed lawsuits or claims against the county. Gascon, his senior leadership. arguing that the DA's office retaliated against them because they either spoken out or opposed his policies, those cases are now being settled. And we're talking about long-term members of the DA's office. One of them having been involved as a senior prosecutor in, for example, the cold case department. Also, a guy who... had not lost a major case in 25 years, and Gascon moved into a calendar prosecutor. You go in front of the judge, and you simply move the calendar around. Your Honor, we're not prepared to go forward. We'd like a continuance. This is one of the top, top-rated prosecutors. So the good news is that Gascon is out of office. Boy, he was hated. And now we're back to a little bit of more law and order. The bad news is that Gascon was in office and was changing the criminal justice system all around. Notice how the pendulum swings. You know, the Me Too movement has swung back. The Black Lives Movement, Black Lives Matter movement, has swung back because wokeism is now out. Okay, let's do this. Let's talk about Anne's favorite team, the Dodgers.

Okay, I've been reporting and something that we know all of us, because it's certainly not small news, is that President Trump and his family have earned this first year in office, $1.1 billion just in crypto, made about $2 billion. Pretty impressive, to say the least. And, of course, the argument of conflict is all over the place because the deals were made while the president's in office and people that are coutowing to the president as well as deals all over the world using the Trump name while the president is in office. Well, guess who else is doing really well? And that is Nancy Pelosi. Her husband, Paul, is an investor. And he has some very well-timed, for example, Nvidia option trades that generated almost 17,000 percent return. Wow. Paul Nancy Pelosi has done very, very well. And how much of it is her connection? to these stocks and how much of it is the administration and Congress giving all kinds of breaks to corporations that do business. And there is, all of this is conflicted. Now, obviously, $280 or $278 million is chopped liver compared to what the Trump family has received. As a matter of fact, their investment, Paul Nancy Pelosi, was in chopped liver. And that's where all the money was made. But you didn't know that. It's a huge industry now, chopped liver, where it wasn't before. By the way, I'm making that up completely. Well, there has been a move in Congress to stop that, saying the barring members of Congress, spouses, dependent children from buying individual publicly traded stocks. Nancy Pelosi was dead set against this. Ooh, while her husband was making these kinds of investments. Of course she was dead set against it. Now she's in favor. Oh, yeah. Why? Because the tide is turning. And...

Why is Tide detergent doing so well? Because Paul Nancy Pelosi invested in Tide. Also not true, by the way. Just want to point that out. But equity, stocks across the board, he has made a fortune. So what Congress did is just pass the Stop Insider Trading Act or let's stop Paul Nancy Pelosi for making a fortune act. And that actually makes sense. The measure now heads to the Senate. And we'll see if it passes there. And tell me if this doesn't make sense. If you are a congressperson or a federal employee, well, this is Congress because Congress voted onto itself, why would you ever be allowed to buy or sell publicly traded stocks? I mean, the conflict is there on any issue involving the value of companies or the value of stocks or trading or profits. And the president, for example, buying and selling and his family making in the billions of dollars, that's fairly new. That is new. Because prior to this, where did the president's money go? President who had money, George W. Bush, for example, they went into a blind trust. A blind trust is handing it over to a trustee, throwing the firewall up, and the president not ever talking to the trustee and the trustee handles all of it. So there is no conflict. So even if the president is pushing a policy that helps one of his stocks, he doesn't even know if the stock is there because the trustee is the one that's managing all the money. Well, as the president has said, I don't have anything to do with it. My sons are the trustees. I never talk to them about money. We never have conversations about money or my name being used or any of the deals that are being cut. Yeah, okay, fine. And Nancy Pelosi. You know, her husband, me, and she gets half of it, made a ton of money. And it finally came to bite her in the ass. Her hypocrisy has come home to roost. Or if you buy metals, it had come home to rust. See, not bad. How's that for analysis, huh? And are you going to see that happening with the president? I mean, you could. Would Congress pass a bill? And forcing the president to put his assets into a blind trust, of course Congress could. Is there any chance that Congress would with the control the president has over the Republican Party? There is no chance. Because even if bills were to pass along these lines with both houses of Congress, the Senate and the House, passing the bills, he would veto it in two seconds. Okay, enough of that. Nancy Pelosi, millionaires in her own right.
