I understand why this, it's hard getting this SAVE Act passed, but at the same time, I don't get it because voter ID is a nonpartisan issue. So the Save America Act is pretty simple. It's, you know, on the federal level, just proving you're a citizen when you register to vote and actually showing your ID when you go to vote. Pretty simple. And it's a non-partite, Democrats are. are for voter ID, Republicans are for voter ID in terms of When we're talking about the citizens here, the United States, yeah, you got to be a citizen when you register to vote, and you've got to show an ID when you go to the ballot box. Even if you're doing mail-in, you have to provide proof that you're a citizen. Now, for whatever reason, this has blown the mind of a lot of Republican in the Senate. Not necessarily the House so much, but the Senate, where... Republican dreams go to die. And this is the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. Yes, the Democrats may have a little civil war going on right now. But if it came down to trying to screw the Republicans, they would have the votes and they would get it done. The Republicans, on the other hand, oh, baby, you've got so many different issues. You've got, well, Lisa Murkowski doesn't like this, or Susan Collins' feelings hurt. Well, Cocaine Mitch is dead, allegedly. I mean, there's so much crap going on. And this is with John Fetterman siding with you guys.

It seems like John Fetterman, when the rubber meets the road, is going to vote with you guys. But you still can't get there. You can't get to the point to where JD Vance could be the tie-breaking vote because that's the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats play to win. Republicans want to be nice. I don't want to be nice. I want the speech from Roadhouse. Be nice until it's time to not be nice. And then kick somebody in the throat wearing too tight jeans. It can never be too tight in Roadhouse. Those suckers are painted on. Oh, I don't know. Some of those jeans on Patrick Swayze right there made for an uncomfortable watch. And here's the other thing. If you think the Senate wants to work when they got a recess coming up, You got another thing coming, pal. Oh, boy. The U.S. Senate will be out of town and on recess for 84% of the month of August. E, yeah. There are a handful of Republicans, though, that are like, maybe we should stay and try to get this thing done. Senator Graham, the sister of the late Lindsey Graham, who's taken over his seat on an interim basis. She's on board. Then you've got Mike Lee, Rick Scott, Ashley Moody, and from Indiana, Jim Banks. He went on Fox this weekend and talked a little bit about the Save America Act and The midterms. Well, this is the fifth time the House has passed the Save America Act. I'm frustrated, too. The Senate should abandon the so-called traditions and the filibuster rules, nuke the filibuster, do whatever it takes to pass the Save America Act. I think the NDAA and the upcoming reconciliation package that the House is going to send over to the Senate are the best opportunities that we have. to pass Save America Act requiring voter ID. The NDAA is very important for our troops in our military. And by the way, Democrats are blocking funding for our military at a time when we need to replenish our munitions stockpiles and support our military. So that's the perfect bill to put the Save America Act in. The Democrats are all against it. They don't want to support our military. And the Democrats don't want voter ID. So let's put every Republican on the record in support of it. it and save this country and head into the midterms with the best hand that we have to keep the majorities in the House and the Senate. I fear what will happen if we don't pass the Save America Act on election day in the midterm elections. You got a lot of work to do, like the senator from Indiana, Jim Banks was just saying that you got a lot of work to do before we get to that majority. I mean, nuking the filibuster is a big, big deal. Listen, because even if you don't, even if you just have a simple majority, I don't know that the...

The Republicans have the votes. That's the problem, right? The thing is, all right, let's say that everybody's testicular region grows three sizes, and they decide, you know what, screw it. If the Democrats get power, they're going to do all this other garbage, so we're going to go ahead and do it. They still don't have the votes. Because, again, we don't know if Mitch McConnell is breathing or not, which I feel like is a pretty big issue that has just fallen off the news cycle. He's been against it, though. We know he's against the Save America Act because he thinks it's the state's responsibility rather than a federal issue. And he hates Trump. True, yes. It's become a Trump thing, too. Tom Tell us, same way. If Lisa Murkowski decides to play ball here, if Susan Collins decides to play ball, they're from... You know, areas where it's not a diehard red to say the very least. So they've got some explaining to do as to why they're being part of the MAGA agenda. This is the kind of crap that the Republicans have to deal with. Instead of focusing on, this is important. Everybody wants it. Let's pass it through. Then we can all go back to fighting each other later. They fight each other now and screw it all up. That's the difference. Margaret Brennan, she's the host on CBS News. She had on one of our favorites, Senator Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the great state of Louisiana. They were on to discuss the Save Act this past weekend. The Save Act, as you know, or even some version of it, is highly partisan, highly controversial. Bigger picture. Isn't it going to hurt faith in our election process if a Republican-only policy to change how elections are run is rammed through 100 days, you know, less than 100 days out from the election? No. Great answer. Great answer. I'd like to hear a little bit more, please, Senator Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. In my opinion, for both sides to have credibility in the elections. In our elections, we need to do two things and only two things. Number one, you have to prove you are who you say you are in order to register to vote and to vote. And number two, however you decide to vote, that's up to the states. We need to go back to having an election day, not an election month. We've got to know the results of election that night or shortly thereafter if it's close. That, to me, is what the Save Act is all about. And I think we can pass it. And I think we can craft it in a way to survive a bird bath. Grants, in other words. But we're not going to know if we don't try. Grants, in other words, to states to incentivize, not requirements for states to take action. That's your version. That's not the only thing. I've been contacted by some really smart people about a way to do it in addition to the grants. I'm not saying it will work, but you're not going to know unless you try. Got to try. That's all we're asking. Try. That's the reason why I ripped the Marion County Republican Party. I'm not even expecting you to win. I'm expecting you to try, right? I grew up watching a lot of bad Cubs baseball in my life. Just try. That's all that I am expecting you to do. Oh, boy. Act like you care. You're not comparing the Republicans in the Senate and the legislature to the Cubs.

Back in the day, are you? They're the 1986 Chicago Cubs where the best part of watching them on WGN was a drunk Harry Carey and Steve Stone basically doing like a two-man rat pack style show as you watch that team lose about 100 games. More midterm stuff. NBC just admitted that a whopping 77% of independents have a bad view of socialism. Among Democrats, this is that poll, a majority have a favorable view of socialism. Step outside the Democratic Party. It's a totally different world. Look at independence, socialism, deeply unpopular there. So is that a vulnerability for Democrats that would keep them from capitalizing on Trump's obvious weaknesses here? Look more specifically at the two chambers here. Senate side, this if you're a Democrat, this is the particularly tough one. They need a net gain of four seats to get control of the Senate. Take a look at the map here. How would they get four? Four is their target number. First thing, they can't lose ground. Georgia, New Hampshire, Michigan, Democratic seats. Big primary coming up in Michigan in a few weeks there. They could have general election implications. Democrats have to win those just to not lose ground. Then the two Republican seats they think they have the best shot at would be Susan Collins and Maine. Democrats have a new candidate there now. And in North Carolina where Democrats have nominated the former governor. So this goes with something that I've been saying for a while. Outside of your dark blue pocket of the cool kids at the lunch table, it's hard to win a statewide, let alone national election with socialism. It's not as popular unless you're in one of those very dark blue cities. I think you can win a city with it, but I want to see if somebody can win a major statewide race with it, let alone a national one. I don't think they can. And as scary as some people want to make this out to be, this could be a good thing for the Republicans. Let them get in bed with these lunatics. Let them burn their own house right to the ground. Go for it. Speaking of socialism, the Democrat Socialist of America co-chair, Megan Romer, she went on Fox News this past weekend. Now, for those people who think we are mischaracterizing what socialism really is, this is the co-chairchair of the DSA, Democrat Socialists of America. Here's what they believe in. Okay, so we're going to put up on the screen a few of the things that are part of your platform. And I want to ask you, just give me sort of a true or false on these. Abolish the Senate. True. Okay. Replace the presidency and Supreme Court as we now know them. Yep. Abolish ICE. Absolutely. Abolish borders and give amnesty to anyone currently in the U.S. illegally. As a long-term plan, yep. Defund the Pentagon. Absolutely. Abolished prisons, at least in large part. Yeah, again, as part of a long-term program, yeah. Okay, so no prisons. Government or public ownership of most large corporations. Yeah, absolutely. Wow. I mean, that didn't even sound like socialism. That sounds like communism.

Tomato, Tomato, Nige. Come on. It's the same thing. You have apologists for the Democratic Socialists saying, hey, just they're socialists, not communists. And then you have this woman go on and just completely burn all that down. No, that's communism. They caucus together. They vote together. Tomato, tomato, it's the same thing.
