Meantime, a federal judge orders the release of a key witness in that shooting of an illegal alien by ICE agents earlier this month after that man. Apparently used his car as a weapon. The judge ruling that Jose Trinidad Roas Pliego must be released from custody within 48 hours, citing due process. It's now 504. In the Middle East, President Trump says the U.S. is in, quote, very deep talks with Iran. But if diplomacy fails, he says there will be a, quote, strong military response. He's also going to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later today. The war dragging on with the midterms looming in November. The conflict that began as Operation Epic Fury back in February is now about to enter August with no clear end in sight. And that could put the commander in chief in a bind approaching election day. The president, remember when the war started, said that this was only going to be a few weeks. And now we're five months in. So I do think that that is a political problem. And the longer it drags on, I think the more it's going to hurt the president's political standing and also the Republicans. Political analyst Jeff Carrere says President Trump has no easy options since the Iranians want to drag things. out as long as they can. Trump has said the midterms will have no bearing on his decision making. Corey Olson, News Radio 740, KTRH. Dow futures are up 157 points this morning. Oil is at $80.57 a barrel. Now diesel fuel is considered the fuel of industry, but prices keep going up and money manager Steve Cotton says it's all got to do with the Middle East. Nobody can have a crystal ball yet until this battle for control between the Iranians and the West over the Strait of Hormuz is settled. And the price of diesel, by the way, is subject to all kinds of fees like insurance costs for transportation through the Strait. Those prices stay high, so will the price of almost everything you buy? There's inflation, which gave us shrinkflation, and now... skimpflation. So instead of shrinking products, businesses cut service, quality, or perks while charging the same price. Financial expert Bill Walsh says we've become programmed to use cards instead of cash. I don't think that most people think of it as really cash. They think more of it's like it's just something on the card. And the card will be refilled very soon. And I think that's also what I would call fueling skimflation.

He also says it's another way that companies control costs, and shoppers are left to decide whether the experience is still worth the price. Despite all this, the engine that is the Texas economy keeps humming along. Newly released IRS data shows the state has attracted billions of dollars in taxpayer wealth. The state's economic leaders say this is something they've been tracking for years. Gabriela von Zermullen with the Texas Association of Business says it's a combination of our people and policies. That combination creates an environment where businesses can invest, grow, and create jobs. The data from the IRS shows the state gained more than $5 billion in adjusted gross income for people moving here from other states. California and New York. Illnesses reported across 17 states, including Texas from this. I was at Kroger yesterday, and they had signs up in the egg section of the store with a picture of what the cartons look like. So if you bought eggs... None that are being sold right now, but these were sold, I want to say, a couple of weeks ago. You see, the dates are 157 through 184, however they mark those cases up. So if it has a plant code of P-1950 or 0840-962 and Julian dates, whatever Julian date is, of 157 through 184 then those are the eggs that are being recalled. I think everyone should be concerned. I think we've already experienced this. We all not forgot about the pandemic. That was what it was like when the government told you what to do. How did we like that? I think everyone across the board hated it. Even worse, we saw Americans turn on Americans for favor. They would report someone if they played outside. I think the problem is that Americans were very spoiled. And we don't really know what communism looks like. I had Michael Malice on my podcast today. I love him, hilarious guy. He was born in a former Soviet Union. And their communism. What they would do is they would force you to live in family groups in one apartment. Even if like the Dana family and the Tyrus family, the government has given our housing, we have to share an apartment. So you know what the families would end up doing is that they would report one of the family members and have them. disappeared in the middle of the night so they get the extra bedroom. That's communism. We don't understand. We saw during the pandemic how upsetting it was to be told to get a shot, to told to wear a mask, said you couldn't go outside. That's what they're aiming for. And America rejected it a whole heart. We're still. looking for get back from all we lost, the education we lost. We have a whole generation of young men that are lost. That is communism. That's what it's going to look like. I'm just glad that they're no longer hiding behind the curtain. The Democratic Party has been overtaken by communism. And now they're saying it, they're flaunted it. They're literally walking on Fox News and what it is. This is how are we going to do it. Here's the thing. I'm not against it. He is a witness to what happened. Wouldn't it be a good idea to keep this guy in custody, no matter what, just to make sure that he's there to provide witness testimony? Who knows what he's going to say? But you would think that they'd want to have this guy locked down. But no, no, no, no, no. The judge says the only way that they can hold him is that they deem him to be a flight risk. Well, you're in the country illegally. You're caught up in the legal system. You're in the custody. You were in the custody of ICE. Why would you stay? I'm sure he's more concerned about his own hide than he is about his friend who got shot. At least that's what human nature would tell me. And so in that, you know, they are seeing savings that are taking place if they know about the program. And if they're if they're you know, understand what it's all about. You know, that's the thing that's happening now is that the news media is completely keeping us in the dark about this program that has been extremely successful. It's been, it's been a program, it's been so successful that I don't think they want to mention it because they don't want to give President Trump the win. Really unfortunate because it's affecting the health care. You know, they talk about affordability and how they think that that's so important, but they're not getting the word out. that this is something that is helping Americans save money on their health care costs, something that is extremely valuable to them. And so I think if the word gets out, it's going to be helpful for us politically, but even more important than that, it's going to be helpful for the health of our nation. And I think it's just word has to get out. So I thank you, Jimmy, for having this segment on your show this morning because I think it is so important that people understand that you go to Trump RX and you can go to prizes that are negotiated. by the administration with the manufacturer of these medications to make these drug prices as low as what Europe is experiencing right now or other countries are experiencing. They want to control it, which obviously is going to make prices a lot more high and limit access and ruin our health care system. They want control, but this doesn't give control. What it does is it just benefits the American people by using free market principles to lower these drug prices. And I'm excited about it, and I'm excited that the word's getting out. Well, you brought up socialism, so as long as you brought that up, that's a very, as you know, very hot topic during a relatively slow news cycle, which we always have during the summer months. And I don't know if you saw or not, but they had a Democrat socialist on Fox News Sunday on the weekend, and they have gotten very... I guess very honest for a change. They are telling us exactly what it is that they want to do in no uncertain terms when it comes to the Supreme Court, when it comes to the presidency, when it comes to the United States Senate. And yet somehow this doesn't seem to be overly shocking to Democrats who the majority of Democrats currently support socialism. Absolutely. It's certainly not shocking. The other 200 representatives could not even say that. And so those 10 are the ones that are in Trump districts, in congressional district that Trump won. So it is absolutely an opportunity that shouldn't motivate us to get out and vote. like never before because our country is at stake. This is a attack from within. In our top story, you've only heard one side of this from the local mainstream media, but there is strong opposition to a proposed future mosque in Laporte. Local resident Vince van der Gaft started an online petition. He's already got thousands of signatures and tells KTRH this is not Islamophobia. It has nothing to do with religious hate or some people have even said racism. It has nothing to do with racism. It is a ideology that represents a culture that is incompatible, really. The proposed project is still in the developmental stage and no approval has yet been given by the city. Another oops from Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico who says he's Christian. But in an interview two years ago, that just resurfaced yesterday, he claimed to have learned about his faith from, quote, the Islamic mystics from poets like Rumi. as much as from Christian writers. In the Middle East, there are no strikes on Iran by the U.S. so far this week, but it's not all peaceful either.

Iranian officials acknowledge that negotiations are underway, but they say they're not talking directly to the U.S., but instead are working through third-party mediators. And all is not quiet in the region. Saudi Arabia said it had to shoot down several drones coming out of Iraq. They were fired off by Iranian-backed militias inside Iraq. Fox is Steve Harrigan reporting. Meantime, an Iranian-linked media outlet puts out an AI-generated video that looks like it's threatening First Lady Melania Trump and the president's son Barron. Talking about possible ways that the president's family could be targeted. It's now 633. The Trump administration implemented a new wave of tariffs on 60 trading partners on the basis of forced labor laws under the Trade Act of 1974. And that allows the U.S. to investigate or retaliate against what they consider. Unfair practices. We investigated 60 economies to assess whether they had these types of laws and whether they implement them. And we found that only a handful had to have this and they didn't implement them. And then the rest of them didn't have them at all. And so we're taking action. U.S. trade representative Jameson Greer on Fox looking at your money, oil at $81 and $9 a barrel. Down futures up 358 points. Meantime, Trump RX, which offers low-priced generic versions of prescription drugs. has already saved the American consumer about $700 billion. However, nobody on the left or in the mainstream media is even bothered to talk about this. They're not promoting this. That's why they're not talking about it because they don't want to give Trump the win. They don't want to give Republicans the win. And they know that this is a significant win for free market health care and for lowering drug prices. Dr. Robin Armstrong calls us a massive win for American consumers. Socialists want to tax billionaires, but their efforts won't stop there. Average Americans will be next on their list. Economist E.J. Anthony says they believe wealth is being hoarded when it's actually invested. And taxing that takes away business investment. Which means the productivity gains go with those taxes. In other words, it immediately starts causing unemployment. It immediately starts causing slower wage growth. It immediately reduces the return on people's 401ks, etc. He says it's the same shady playbook they always use for this idea. But they also conveniently forget the history of socialism. These DSA folks, where does it ever work? Did it work in Havana? Did it work in Caracas? Did it work in Moscow? It's never worked. If you could show me an example where it worked, I'd have an open mind. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent with KTRH's Sean Hannity. 635, Texas State Fair preparing to kick off again in September. And for the third straight year, licensed gunholders won't be able to bring their weapons with them to the fairgrounds.

The fare banned all firearms after a shooting in 2023, which injured three people. There was this cry to, hey, we got to do something in response to someone who probably shouldn't have been there in the first place. It affects the law abiding. Richard Hayes with the armed attorney says all this is doing is making the state fair less safe for licensed gun owners. 92 to 94% of these incidents are happening where firearms are restricted. The idea that folks don't have the ability to defend themselves is really disturbing to me. He says that there may be a need for new legislation next spring to clear all of this up. Several programs to help farmers and ranchers after the flooding earlier this month have been activated by an emergency order from Texas Ag Commissioner Sid Miller. It activates our star fund, that's state of Texas agriculture relief. And that is money we raise. It's not government money, not taxpayer money. Almost all of the funding that will go to help farmers hit hard by flooding will be privately raised. A water plan for the state, which has doubled in cost, is moving forward despite the fact that it's built on flawed numbers. Letters were sent to the owners of data centers asking for their usage, but the vast majority. were ignored. It's pretty frustrating when you hear only 17% of the respondents have actually taken time to fill out the questionnaire. That's state representative, Trent Ashby. There are concerns that even though the state is set to spend billions to shore up the supply, it won't be enough. to handle the growing population and warehouses full of computers. Independence, lean pro-capitalism, 51% over pro-socialism, 38%, which means that we've got, let's see, 83. That means we've got 17%. I don't know. I don't know. I think that's the group I hate the most. I don't know. How can you not have a viewpoint on capitalism versus socialism? I don't know. Republicans strongly opposed. Only 14% hold a positive view of socialism. Please show me the 14% of Republicans who think that socialism is okay.

Who are these people? What kind of Republicans are these people? They must be rhinos. Must be rhinos. But I'm asking you today, because I'm worried about the midterms. You're always worried about the midterm election turnout. You know the Democrats, you know the socialists will turn out. So my view is just end it right now. They broke the ceasefire.

Now compare and contrast to President Donald Trump in Michigan yesterday. To stop the massive theft of taxpayer dollars, we ended Medicaid for illegal immigrants, and we launched the war on fraud, led by our great vice president. And we've got 98 days to go until the midterm. Socialists keep scoring wins in primaries, but it could end up hurting them down the road with black and brown voters. Election results show that Hispanic voters especially are breaking away from DSA Democrats. The people of Cuba, Venezuela, they come here. They don't want the same things that they fled. They came to the United States for a reason.

Former Congresswoman Myra Flores says this is going to become especially clear in the general election. They can easily win their primaries, but in the general, you've got to win the swing voter, the independent voter, and that's where Hispanic come in. She added that while this might be good news for the GOP, it's terrible news for the country long term. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. Close at a home, radical billionaire leftist George Soros is backing a pro-illegal alien group using taxpayer dollars to get votes. for Precinct 4 Commissioner Leslie Breonis. In the case of the George Soros group, that's just Leslie Breonnais wanting to get reelected. George Soros wants to take Texas and the way you take Texas is through Harris County. Harris County, GOP chair, Cindy Siegel. We did reach out to Breonis. Her office didn't respond. Federal judge orders a release of a key witness in the fatal shooting of an illegal alien by ICE agents after that man allegedly used his car as a weapon. The judge ruling that Jose Trinidad Rojas Pliego. must be released from DHS custody within 48 hours because of due process. It's now 704, and in the Middle East, President Trump says the U.S. is in very deep talks with Iran, but if diplomacy fails, there will be a strong military response or dragging on with the midterms looming. The conflict that began as Operation Epic Fury back in February is now about to enter August with no clear end in sight, and that could put the commander-in-chief in a bind approaching election day. The president, remember when the war started, said that this was only going to be a few weeks, and now we're five months in. So I do think that that is a political problem. And the longer it drags on, I think the more it's going to hurt the president's political standing and also the Republicans. Political analyst Jeff Carrere says President Trump has no easy options since the Iranians want to drag things. out as long as they can. Trump has said the midterms will have no bearing on his decision making. Corey Olson, News Radio 740, KTRH. Right now, South futures are up, 336 points. Oil is down to $81 and 84 cents a barrel. Now, diesel is considered the fuel of industry, but those prices are up and they keep going up and money manager Steve Cotton says it's got everything to do with what's happening overseas. Nobody can have a crystal ball yet until this battle for control between the Iranians and the West over the Strait of Hormuz is settled. And to make things worse, the price of diesel is subject to all kinds of fees like insurance costs for transportation through the strait, which have been going up. If those prices stay high, so will the prices of almost everything you buy? There's inflation, which led to shrinkflation, which has given us skimpflation. Instead of shrinking products, business cuts services. quality or perks while charging the same price. Financial expert Bill Walsh says we've become programmed to use cards instead of cash. The majority of Democrats now seem to support, at least according to a Gallupol. At least 66% of them support socialism. Support it. Fully in favor of it. So electing Democrats right now is like... Saying, okay, we're electing a socialist. We don't believe in capitalism anymore. And, of course, we have the midterms coming up. It's always dicey for the party in power, this case the Republicans. Good to have you on. We're talking from the flooding, but I'll tell you what, Texas agriculture has been getting it from all sides here. We've had parts of the state that have been under drought conditions. We've got ranchers who are struggling up in the panhandle to hang on to their herds from all the droughts. And then we got flooding in central Texas and south Texas. That's probably been bad news for the farmers. Oh, yeah. Unfortunately, we're used to adversity. We've got the screw worm attacking us. We've got the pasture mealy bug. We've got a bug in our rice crop we can't get rid of. One in our cotton. We've got the still fighting the tariff war. It's a... It's a constant battle, but farmers, one thing about them, they're very resilient. They know how to live with adversity and we will adapt and overcome them, I promise. Yeah, what crops are you particularly concerned about? Are there any particular types of crops that have been hit hard by the flooding?

Well, we don't have a lot of crops in the hill country, in those river valleys down there. Unlike the Brazos or the Trinidad or Colorado, which have advanced, you know, expanses of wide farmland in those river Scott Bottoms, that's the hill country. So those are very narrow. There's not a lot of road crop farming. Now, we do have a lot of livestock. There's some vineyards in that part of the state, pecan and nut production. So there is some damage. But most of the damage will be to fencing, buildings, equipment, and livestock. Now, I know you declared the agricultural emergency. Tell me the process of doing it and what that helps the ranchers and the farmers with as far as their ability to get relief. Well, it basically triggers three programs from my department. First off, it triggers the hay and feed hotline, which we open that up. Anybody wants to donate hay, feed, fencing materials so they can call us. We'll make arrangements to get that delivered to whoever needs it. On the opposite end of that, if you need feed and hay, If you've been wiped out, you don't have anything, any feed for your livestock, call us, and we'll make arrangements to find you something. So that's number one. Second, very important, it activates our STAR Fund, State of Texas Agriculture Relief, STAR, STAR, and that is money that we get out the door. We don't do any admin costs. 100% of it goes right back into farmers. pockets and we that's not taxpayer money that that comes from private individuals uh non profits uh companies corporations uh just about anybody that has you know has a good heart and wants to help out we take that and we get it out and uh help farmers and ranchers get back on their feet mainly we pay for stuff that that uh property insurance, crop insurance doesn't cover. And it'll be things like fencing material, wire, teapost. We might come in. If you need to bury a bunch of dead livestock, we can help you do that. You know, replace some buildings maybe that weren't insured. So that's the star fund. You can find both of those programs at Texas Agriculture.gov, Texas Agriculture.gov, or you can call us at 1-800-T-T-L-L-T-A, Texas Department of Agriculture. And the third one, really, it doesn't activate it because we operate it 24-7 year-round, and that's our agra-stress helpline. And it's... Well, it's kind of like the national suicide hotline, but it's designed specifically for farmers and ranchers and people that live in rural parts of the state. It's much different.

We can help you find programs at the USDA, that maybe a livestock indemnity program. They help pay for those, you know, deceased livestock. We can get you up other programs, low-interest loans maybe. They'll tell you about the STAR program at the Texas Department of Agriculture, SBA. programs, and we can get you some mental health help in your community. You don't have to drive to metropolitan area. So that's been very, very successful. We've had that up and running about three years. I kicked it off right after the tragedy at the Uvaldi school about three years ago. So we're, the thing that's different about our mental health helpline. and the National Suicide Hotline, which is 988, when you call us, we're going to call you back the next day, in the next day, in the next day, until we know you're out of the woods. And we're going to stay with you and make sure that you and your family is okay. Now, that number, if you want to grab a pen, I'll give it to you in just a second. Sure. They scream about taxing the rich, then release the shockwave. Antony says in states like California, where marginal tax rates are 50%, it's a problem because the wealth is invested, which makes more taxes counterintuitive. The policy changed three years ago prompted a lawsuit by Attorney General Ken Paxton. Look at the last legislative session, Senator Bob Hall had SB 1065. That would make it clear, hey, the state fair can't disarm folks who are qualified or licensed to carry holders. Unfortunately, that didn't make it over the finish line. Attorney Richard Hayes called out the policy for making the fairgrounds less safe. Since over 90% of shootings happen at soft targets like gun-free zones. Rural Texans were in Austin yesterday protesting against data center development. We are not anti-progress or anti-technology. We just believe that citizens should have a say about what goes on in their communities. Amanda Griffin with the Hill Country Preservation Coalition, which is calling for a moratorium on construction and a special session of the legislature. Act Commissioner Sid Miller also wants that special session, and he's also declared an agricultural emergency after the recent flooding in central Texas. Among those programs, two out of three will use private funding to help farmers and ranchers who are hit hard by flooding from recent rains in central Texas and elsewhere. The only thing that eats up a few tax dollars, we get an allocation from the legislature. to operate our agro-stress helpline. An interview with the economist Elon Musk schools their editor-in-chief to her face when asked if he cares that people don't like him. Roll it, Doris. Do you see why this makes people think? that this man who has all his power, he's the world's richest man, he thinks he has a right to influence our politics. It's why people loathe you. I mean, some people do loathe you. Yes, some people do. But do you understand why? The fact that, as you pointed out, a quarter billion people follow me is that I think a lot more people actually like me than don't. And I think a lot more people hate you and the media more than you realize.

What are you doing? But to end up in a psych ward to, you know, that, and then to blame it on artificial intelligence, I think, I think we're blaming the wrong thing there in this particular case. You know, you have to have some control of your life, right? You have to have some ability to just snap to it and get back to some form of reality. That tells me that your reality, the world that you normally live in is either too painful or too difficult for you that you just are looking for a way to tune out. And you found one.
