This is South Carolina's morning news with Kelly Nash. Going to be a busy morning if you're in the Columbia area. The road closures start at 8 a.m. Hampton between Sumter and Marion, Washington between Sumter and Bull. Marion between Hampton and Lady. No parking permitted pretty much till afternoon today. We got most of Main Street, including the 1,200 block of Hampton, Assembly Street, east side to the curb, 1,100 block of Sumter Street. I mean, it's just going to be chaos is the... Pretty much a lot of the eyes of the world are going to be on Columbia, South Carolina today, as there's a massive event for Lindsey Graham that will feature a flyover at 11 a.m. from the fighter wing based at McIntyre Joint National Guard Base. After all this takes place today. mid-morning to mid-early afternoon, I guess I should say. They will then transport Lindsay back to Center, South Carolina, for his final resting place. It's going to be an emotional day, Christopher Thompson. It was an emotional day yesterday on Capitol Hill, both in the Capitol and at the National Cathedral, where the president gave a touching eulogy. Stuck to the script. For the most part. Yes. For the most part. Which, you know, when the president goes off script, it usually gets kind of hairy. But yeah, it was, it was nice touch. A lot of good speeches in honor of our senator yesterday. Here's a snippet of, he talked for about 15 minutes. I got this down to about a minute. Lindsey Rhodes from a small town and rural South Carolina, place he loves so much to become a constant fixture of American politics at the highest level. He was a man who gave America the full measure of his good and mighty heart until that heart itself just gave out. Lindsay first stormed into Washington with the Republican Revolution of 1994 becoming the first Republican to win his House district in 120 years. That was Lindsay. His impassioned defense of a wonderful person, a great gentleman, Brett Kavanaugh, ended a disgraceful attack on this very good man and gave us one of the greatest moments the Senate has ever seen. I believe it was Lindsay's perhaps finest hour. But no matter how heated things got in Washington, virtually everyone, Republican or Democrat, liked Lindsay. Well, not everybody, but it sounds good. Not everybody.

We united with his parents and we united with his Lord. Lindsay, we love you. God bless you. And you were very, very special. Thank you. Yes, he was. I see we have controversy today, Christopher. As we heard in the Fox News update, they are renaming Joint Base Charleston in honor of Lindsey Graham. And I see this is a quote from Ed Sutton. Charleston Democrat state senator, Air Force veteran, says that this is, quote, Senator Graham was a tremendous advocate for the South Carolina's military community. He deserves to be honored. However, renaming Joint Base Charleston without the local input is the wrong approach. A more fitting tribute would be naming the new Coast Guard facility in North Charleston after Graham, especially given his recent work to secure the major federal investment for the Coast Guard mission there. That would honor his legacy without erasing Charleston's military tradition. And no way do I feel like Charleston's military tradition has been erased at all. I have no idea what state senator Ed Sutton from Charleston is talking about. Kelly, I'm not sure either. If it were named after someone already, like a Strom Thurman perhaps, then yeah, you'd be erasing history. It's just joint-based Charleston right now. And previous part of that was Charleston Air Force Base, and Lindsay served for 33 years between the Air Force and the Air National Guard. branch. So I have no, is this a Democrat just trying to? Stir up trouble? Stir up trouble. Get a little attention? Maybe so. I really have no. Erase Charleston's military tradition. No clue with that even means. Maybe you guys have thoughts on that. I don't know. Maybe Christopher Thompson and I don't understand because there's some sort of speak there that we're missing out on. You can let us know on the talkback feature. Well, we're all talking about Lindsey Graham here in South Carolina today, but this morning, 8.30, it's going to get crazy up in the Senate. Anthony Fauci is coming to town. And this is Senator Bernie Moreno, who is on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, so he will have an opportunity to talk with Dr. Anthony Fauci. And the question is, what exactly are, do you want to talk to him about? Well, I want to know if you think so was worth it to meet Kim Kardashian, and he destroyed the lives of millions of Americans. He was the reason I ran for office. His policies where he treated American citizens like lab rats was totally and not really disgusting. And I'm going to see if he has even the courage to just apologize to the American people for what they put us through. He damaged a lot of lives. I mean, he affected kids in a way that... will never get their childhood back. He put mental illness in a lot of people who now are scared about all kinds of things. He did incredible harm to the country. You saw him in the diaries, the guy did not suffer a low ego. I mean, he thought he was the sexiest man alive. You know, I think he's one of these guys that chased wisdom his entire life. Unfortunately, God didn't give him speed. I've never heard that phrase before. He chased wisdom, but God didn't give him speed. This could be a very monumental testimony today. I mean, you got Rand Paul is the leader, Ron Johnson, James Lackford, Rick Scott, Josh Hawley, Bernie Moreno, Joni, Erndst, and Ashley Moody for the Republicans. Now, you would expect on the left, it's going to be a little bit easier. Margaret Hassan from New Hampshire, Richard Blumenthal from Connecticut, Andy Kim, New Jersey, Slotgin. Gosh, Elissa Slotkin and Gallego, part of the sedate. He was in the seditious six, wasn't he? But then there is John Fetterman. I'm wondering how aggressive John Fetterman will be today. And Kelly, as you pointed out yesterday, for all the talk about Hollywood and how enamored Anthony Fauci was with his own fame and making all these media appearances, you hope the focus today is more on what else he had to say in that diary about exactly how the virus came to be and why we were getting two different messages, one publicly from him and one privately as he was talking to government officials. behind the scenes. Yeah, and it, the...

Thanks to the hard work of Rand Paul, we now have the Anthony Fauci Diaries. And again, I would encourage everybody to go to Rand Paul's website and go into what's called The Reading Room. There's about a thousand pages in there from Anthony Fauci's personal notes as well as email correspondence that he had with certain people. And it becomes overwhelmingly obvious that the quote unquote science was telling him in January of 2020, this is a lab leak. In January of 2020. Now, in March of 2020, when they decided to shut the country down, and he was a big part of that. And he then later on lied said, I didn't recommend that to anybody. No, we can see where you actually called, you know, the mayor of New York City at the time, the governor of New York, the governor of California and talked about how this would put pressure on other places to force them to close down as well. So you wanted a closure of the country. You also knew at that point that it was... Ten of your 12 scientists told you it's coming probably from the lab. It looks like it has to have been man-made, that that protein spike, which, you know, I never would have known anything about protein spikes and things of this nature without the coronavirus, as we used to call it. But now that we... are all kind of somewhat familiar with it. We now know that according to 10 of the 12 scientists, they said this looks manmade, and it looks like it just escaped a lab. It doesn't come from a wet market like that. And Anthony Fauci then lied and said it looks like it's a natural occurrence. It's rare, but it happens. And for whatever reason, I really want to know why did he want to protect the Wuhan lab so much? That's a great question. And hopefully that's one of the questions we hear asked today. I'm wondering what Anthony Fauci's approach will be. I mean, he's obviously got to be stunned by the, I don't think he expected. And they didn't alert him to the fact that these diary readings or these diary entries were going to come out publicly. So he's probably still in a state of shock. How humiliating. Yeah. And now he's, you know, he's going to be on the defense today no matter what. But how forthcoming will he be? Do you keep a diary? I don't have a diary. No, I don't. I don't think that, because the only thing that I would think that would happen would be after I die, I could be humiliating. Yeah. I want to take those with me. I mean, some people journal for reasons. You know, they feel like they, you know, it's some kind of cathartic experience. It gets it out and, you know, then they can move on. But. Yeah, it's awfully dangerous as a government official to do it, especially if you're misleading the public while you're doing it. That is so, man, you hit the nail on the head, Christopher Thompson. several months ago as they started promoting it more heavily on their website and encouraging people to go and look at it. And then this past weekend, I think it was Martha McCallum or somebody, I forget, Shannon Bream, somebody had the co-chair of the DSA on and she went through basically just what is on the platform. Is this true? And one of them is to basically remove the Supreme Court. Like we don't need a Supreme Court anymore. And so just basically remove one of the branches of government. Just get rid of it. And the DSA is all in favor of that. And now I'm... I'm getting a little afraid that Americans may be lining up with that. New Gallup poll came out yesterday. They've only been doing this since 2000. So I don't know what the Gallup polls of the 1800s or the 1900s would have said, but starting in 2000, they started taking a Gallup poll on the nation's approval ratings of the U.S. Supreme Court. And according to Gallup, they've never seen anything this low. Currently, Only 33% of Americans approve of the Supreme Court. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 Racing. That is shocking. And I think that's a seven point drop since last year. Most of it being driven by the Republicans souring after Donald Trump lost a bunch of rulings. And I, Christopher, you know, it's like I'm wondering they're not happy with the Supreme Court. But they're happy that it's there, I'm hoping. I would hope so. It's kind of like I don't like Congress per se, but I'm happy that we have one. Well, I mean, you mentioned one branch. They want two branches done. They want the presidency eradicated too, and they want the Senate done away with. They want one unicameral legislature. That's it. It would basically make it mob rule. Yeah, it sounds like it. This is, if you're looking for a way to actually. expedite your decline to third world status. The DSA platform is a perfect roadmap. We have a roadmap already. It's called the Constitution, and it's worked pretty well so far. Well, I'm saying if you're trying to get us to third world status. Yeah, no, I get it, but if they want a roadmap, they don't need to look very far. Well, again, the DSA does not like America. They don't like, they don't like the founding of America. They don't like freedom.

They don't like entrepreneurship. They don't like people getting rich. They don't like capitalism. They don't like you having choice in health care. They don't want you to have anything that they can't put their boot on your neck. That is what the DSA is all about. That's Zohran Mamdani. That's Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. That's Bernie Sanders. That's the mayor of Seattle. That's the mayor of Chicago. These people want to destroy your lives. That's how they feel happy about themselves. That's not the way we want to go. That's certainly not in the year we're celebrating 250. And to hear this guy and to hear it gain popularity, it's incredible. Yes. This. I'm afraid what we're seeing is we're reaping what we've been sewing in our education system for decades now. Thankfully, I graduated school in the 80s before the rapid decline of what seems to be the education system in America. But when I talk to people under the age of 40 who haven't taken the time to self-educate, they seem to have no understanding of the history of the United States, why we're great, what American greatness even is. Like, I remember Obama making that statement. Why is America so great? I'm pretty sure people have Ghana think that they're pretty great too. They've got Ghana exceptionalism. It has nothing to do with the people that are born here, nor is it have anything to do with the actual land that we live on. It has to do with the Constitution. It has to do with the freedoms that were given to us by God rather than... saying that some sort of government entity who who is that that was just recently arguing that somebody i'm trying to remember who it was some maybe uh what's that guy's name from new jersey or whatever i'm drawing a blank on his name but one of the senators is like you really think that the power's given to you by god and not the law uh duh yeah Absolutely, I think that. Anyway, we're going to hopefully continue that tradition of keeping our freedoms that were given to us by God as opposed to erasing the Supreme Court now at an all-time low with the people. and we'll keep a close eye on that. It's been a battle with a lot of other lawmakers on that one. We'll talk about that. And also coming up at 803-ish or so, we're going to have Rory O'Neill checking in just before the Anthony Fauci testimony today. So we got a busy morning going on, and I see that the Wall Street Journal has a new story out this morning, talking about the fact that... Tehran, just as disagreeable as ever, the Omanis had proposed that they could help share in the managing of the Strait Hormuz. If you look at a map and look at Oman, that is basically... It's called the Gulf of Oman, which is basically almost the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Then moving up on what I will describe as the west side would be United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain. Then at the very north you get Iraq. And then all along the east side, it would then be Iran. Now, Iran has a lot of miles on the Gulf, the Persian Gulf and whatever. They have about... It looks like about 1,300 miles. Those other four countries, they make up the other 1,300 on the other side. Iran said no. We are not sharing the Strait of Hormuz with anybody. This, to me, Christopher, seems as if Oman and these other countries, UAE, you know, do we go as far as... partnering with Iraq to say, listen, guys, you need some military equipment to fight off Iran. We can help. I mean, we've got a vested in. Everyone has a vested interest in keeping the straight open. But Iran knows that's its only playing card right now. Yeah. And as they continue to cut off the oil for, what is it, about 20% of the world, that is having very negative. consequences for the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Iraq. And I'm sure that they would love to have this thing reopened. And it also affects, you know, to an extent, China, who imports a mass amount of their oil from this region. And so maybe, who knows? You know, politics makes strange bedfellows. Maybe China wants to come on in and help us force. Iran to open this thing. We keep hearing that they're at least back channeling Iran to say, let's get to the negotiating table, but Iran launched more strikes last night. I don't know. What is that old phrase? When somebody tells you who they are, believe them, they don't care about peace or even prosperity. You cannot negotiate with these people. The people who are in charge, not the 90 million people who live there. but roughly 200,000 or so that are calling the shots. Those people have to go. They must be pummeled. And I don't know how far the U.S. population has an appetite for us to get involved with this.

But, again, I think your only two options are you go all in and kill all 200,000 of them, or you just walk away and say, whale prices are going to be higher, the Persian Gulf and, you know, the Strait of Hormuz, all that is just up to those people who live there, and you're all going to have to figure it out amongst yourself. And if oil prices are higher for the world, they're higher for the world. All right. Christopher seems to agree with me. So we will take a break and now it is South Carolina's morning news. I mean, there have been big state funerals like Strom Thurman comes to mind. It wasn't... all that long ago that we've we've had a couple of high profile funerals. But I mean, this will be a big deal just because, you know, there's more attention. There's more social media. I mean, and, and Lindsey Graham touched so many lives, not just here in South Carolina, but he was a high profile senator for anyone across the country would recognize his name. Yeah, and you saw that at the National Cathedral yesterday, all the heads of state that showed up to pay their tributes, their respects. Coming up in the next hour, we'll have plenty of things to talk about. But one of them, by the way, is a New York poll that just dropped that is jaw-dropping, in my opinion. But we have more than enough candidates now for a baseball team, maybe even a football team. And there was a, I mean, at the last minute, there was one surprise entry for me who got into the race. And there was another one. Even more shocking, Christopher. And I'm sure you've probably seen this by now. We'll have to reveal who was denied entry into the race. There's also been some updates regarding Darlene Graham. By the way, I received my first direct mail piece from Darlene Graham yesterday. Ah. And it's a nice family photo of her on the beach with the husband. I know a lot of people ask about that. He's in the photo with the kids. And, but yeah, yesterday was chaos.

at the last minute as people were filing to replace Lindsey Graham. That is a fun, juicy story that we'll get into just after the top of the hour. Boy, I hate hearing the folks out on Isle of Palms and Mount Pleasant. I guess about 20,000 people lost their power. I hope that's back on quickly, if not already. Pretty hot day coming up. A lot of humidity. Not a good day to be without air conditioning, that's for sure. There is a ton of activity. I mean, we've been talking about Lindsey Graham's big service last night or yesterday up in the National Cathedral. Today, obviously, Columbia, and then back to Pickens County. But if you look at the activity that was taking place in Columbia yesterday with people trying to replace Lindsey Graham. Now, we already know his sister, Darling Graham, is running. I was just reading an ABC News 4 in Charleston that somebody who... is not authorized to speak for the governor, says that, I guess, off the record, although I'm reading it in the news, that he had never contemplated that she would run for the seat. Join the crowd.

Obviously, it seems like she and Ralph Norman are the frontrunners at this point. I am supposed to be talking with Russell Fry, I believe, tomorrow. We're going to have him join the show. He's also, I would put in that kind of the top tier of the candidates. And then Mark Sanford, obviously, in the top tier of candidates. And we had him on earlier this week. If you haven't heard that interview, we have that podcast out. on the national briefing podcast. You can look for that on the I Heart Radio app. But they was like just a flurry of activity in the last few hours and stuff. So we already have Mark Lynch, the guy who had primaried Lindsey Graham. He's in. We have him on earlier. I think that was last week. Duke Buckner. We've talked about him. He's in. He's the guy who always is going against Jim Clyburn. Mark McBride, former mayor of Myrtle Beach, is running. Darius Mitchell, resident of Columbia, who calls himself, quote, the hip-hop Republican is running. He didn't get in. Oh, really? Darius Mitchell. They were saying that... Yeah, eliminated by party rules. Oh, okay. When did that happen? Because Channel 4 reported this this morning. So they're a little bit behind down there. I think so. Clark Nielsen, businessman who does not currently live in South Carolina from Charlotte. Eliminated. Out. Glenda Gail Parker, retired Air Force officer who moved to Myrtle Beach, calls herself a conservative independent who leans Republican, supports high-speed rail. Gail for rail. Is that the slogan? Yes, that's her slogan. Sam Shepard, biomedical engineer and entrepreneur lives in Lexington County. He said he's focusing his campaign on cutting taxes and federal spending. And at the last second. Danny Ford, who had been running for, was it the Ag Commissioner? Correct. And he is from Central, South Carolina, which is where we're having all that activity today. And former Clemson University football coach Danny Ford, apparently is his father. He is, he got in, I guess, like at about 1130 yesterday morning. Out. They removed them now? Yes. How could they remove them? Party rules, because they were ruled that he, both he and Darius Mitchell, ruled to have not voted in two of the last three state Republican primaries. How is he qualified to run for the Ag Commissioner and not qualified to run for this? I, you know, these are new rules that the Republicans are operating under, and there are still questions about why Darlene Graham's in. Well, I was going to say, all over social media, people are very ticked off that they ruled she is in when she didn't vote in two of the last three, although they're going to count the special primary, I guess, as that. I guess that's how they're doing, because they didn't go with a waiver, if I understand correctly.

But so she's in. The guy who was the ad commission running for the ad commissioner is now ruled out according to Christopher Thompson. And at the last minute, according to Will folks at Fitznews, a man who came in and declared himself to be the living son of God. Jesus Christ attempted to file and they would not allow him. Even though he was there in time and apparently had the cash, Jesus Christ is now out as well, although I see on social media a right-in campaign has been started for Jesus Christ. They want Jesus Christ to win the Senate seat. This is getting crazier by the moment. So, okay, so. The headline had said 12, but you're saying we're down to 10. No, it's nine. It's nine. Yeah, Ford, Mitchell, and Nielsen are all out. Okay, so three of the 12 have been removed. Wow. All right, so I guess it's manageable at 9, so we have enough for a baseball team. We have enough for a baseball team, but as you pointed out more than once, Kelly, we also have enough to almost guarantee a runoff. Yeah, I don't see there's any possible way anybody gets above 50%. And then we'll come the runoff. Now, the interesting thing is early, again, all of it's early. This whole thing is going to be over in a couple of weeks. But early indications are that it is between Ralph Norman and Darwin Graham. Does Darlene Graham have the advantage because she has such a strong team and it's Lindsey Graham's team? If it goes to the runoff. I had always credited Alan Wilson as having the advantage if he got into a runoff against Pamela Evitt based off the fact that he has had such a strong team and he's been networking throughout the state for all these years. I think the team will help, Kelly, but I think I would think Ralph Norman could probably claim the same thing. especially since he's just coming off the governor's race. He did do, he did well in the governor's race, but what was about 70% or so of his support was basically around that Rock Hill. We'll just call it the upper part of the state because it's, it kind of goes down through York County and stuff. He did not do very well in the low country. Ralph Norman did not in the last election for governor. We'll see if he does have name recognition now because of that. Darlene Graham has the, I guess, the sympathy vote and or just a fantastic team. Lindsey Graham's team is top-notch. And if they're all pulling for her and working, I would think that would be an advantage for her as well. I don't know. Maybe y'all have thoughts on that. I'm running a little bit long. Now, I'll caution you that this is a right-leaning polling company, Super PAC. Now, they found out that the... Bruce Blakeman, who I've never even heard of Bruce Blakeman. He's listed here as some sort of Nassau County executive. He is within four points of Kathy Hochul to be the next governor of New York. 4743 is the vote totals right now. In this, again, right-leaning pollster's opinion, 10% of the voters still undecided. the things that make it a little more interesting because, again, I'll just caution people. You see that when he's on Congress or giving congressional testimony. He does a fantastic job. And he lost by five points to Kathy Hochul. And again, when you look at the state of New York, it's about 95% votes red. except for the island of Manhattan and the five boroughs. It is as blue as it can get. And then there's a couple of other blue counties like near Albany and stuff. But. He lost by five. This guy, Bruce Blakeman, would be even closer if this poll is accurate. The other thing about it that's exciting is the fact that he is, this guy is stockpiling cash. Apparently, he has now raised $11 million in the last few weeks. And so the momentum is all with this guy. And we've been hearing about the Democrats having problems, raising money. And then amongst the pollsters, when they went to the independence. He's winning 5433 with the independence right now. So only the far left wants Kathy Hochul. And I wonder if that is waning a little bit because she has been blocking some of Zohran Mamdani's plans. Hmm. So is she going to lose the momentum unless she goes complete socialist? Because Zohran Mamdani and Hokel are not... Not getting along very well right now as he wants more and more stuff. And the only way he can get it is if she raises taxes on everybody in New York. And she continues to say, I'm not going to do that. So I don't know. Could New York be turning red?

That's a mouthful. That is one of those prayers that you put up there and go, there's no way. There's no possible way. But maybe. Pink, pink at least. And does Donald Trump help or hurt if he goes in and campaigns for this guy? I don't know. Black men, again, they described him as a Nassau County executive who is Jewish. who has made combating anti-Semitism supporting law enforcement the major themes of his gubernatorial campaign. Again, if you're living in New York City, you would think that somebody supporting law enforcement right now would be a plus because it is getting worse by the minute in New York City when it comes to crime. But that's neither here nor there. We're saying our prayers for New York to say, and we're also saying our prayers for the family and friends of Lindsey Graham as we say goodbye to him a little bit later on this morning in... our capital, and then later on up in Pickens County. Anyway, he is the senior national security reporter who previously worked for Reuters. While working for Reuters, he took a trip to China, which is paid for by China. He wrote an article called Will Made in America Sell in China. Now, that article... is still online, it no longer has his name attached to it. Reuters removed his name for some reason, but you can find the archived versions of it. It is very China friendly. Well, now just the news with John Solomon revealing that David Rode, again, the senior national security reporter. has had numerous things paid for by the Chinese government. And he's suddenly pro-China. Exactly. I'm trying to get to one of parts of the columns. He was talking about how great China is. Unlike the United States, where free market advocates deride the role of government, the Chinese state has played a central role in creating, supporting, and expanding businesses here. In addition to privatization, cheap government loans and massive government-funded infrastructure projects are driving China's boom.

The Chinese government also requires foreign companies to create joint ventures with the Chinese firms that fairly or unfairly allow for the local companies to learn valuable manufacturing and business practices. Look, David, I could have told you in 2011 what the Chinese were doing was ripping off intellectual property. That's not partnering. That's them stealing. That's what they do in China. He continues to be employed by MS-13 now, again, as the national security guy. But he is... I hope they keep him away from China's stories. I mean, it's just unbelievable. But it's kind of like when what's his face, the guy who's now in all the trouble who was running for governor of California, used to be a house member, was sleeping with the Chinese spy. Fang Fang was her name. How is it I can remember Fang Fang? But I can't remember the now disgraced congressman who had to resign in shame later on. But he was still on like the Foreign Affairs Intelligence Committee. Eric Swalwell. Eric Swalwell. I mean, you're sleeping with a Chinese spy, and you don't even have, the Democrats don't even force you off the committee, never mind out of Congress. This guy is the head of the MS-13 now gang-loving station's national security reporter who's basically getting paid for it directly by the Chinese government. No, no. It's going to be interesting, though, with the flyover taking place. I think that's at 11 o'clock this morning. And, again, a ton of people will probably be there, Christopher. And it is first come, first served. They're saying at First Baptist, what time do the doors open at 10? I think so. 10 o'clock this morning. And so the flyover, I think, is at about 11. And they are encouraging people to, you know. Pay your salutes to Lindsey Graham as they make their way from the south side of the statehouse on down to the church. Yesterday, Donald Trump had some words to say about Lindsey Graham. I've edited it down to about a little over a minute, even though he did speak for about 15 minutes or so. Lindsey Rhodes from a small town in rural South Carolina, a place he loves so much, to become a constant fixture of American politics at the highest level. He was a man who gave America the full measure of his good and mighty heart until that heart itself just gave out. Lindsey first stormed into Washington with the Republican Revolution of 1994 becoming the first Republican to win his House district in 120 years. That was Lindsay. His impassioned defense of a wonderful person, a great gentleman, Brett Kavanaugh, ended a disgraceful attack on this very good man and gave us one of the greatest moments the Senate has ever seen. I believe it was Lindsay's perhaps finest hour. But no matter how heeded things got in Washington, virtually everyone, Republican or Democrat, liked Lindsay. Well, not everybody. But it sounds good. Not everybody. We united with his parents and we united with his Lord. Lindsay, we love you. God bless you. And you were very, very special. Thank you. Genuine affection for Lindsey Graham. Yeah, it's hard to believe the two had as big a feud as they had at one point, but actually several. I mean, they broke up several times and then got back together. And he talked about Lindsay was a ferocious fighter. He would not back down on things. And that's part of the reason people loved him. You know, he was a, he also told the story about his dad. And, you know, you got to be able to make people like you enough that they want to come back to the bar, but you've got to be strong enough to make sure that the bar survives. So he was a great combination of the both. I posted a quick video yesterday. I was driving in Northeast Columbia, and I got a little emotional. You know, as I'm thinking, they're having this. procession today for Lindsey Graham yesterday it's going on at the national cathedral and somebody still has their Lindsey Graham for senate sign out and i'm thinking my gosh they're going to bury him tomorrow that's it's

It boggles the mind. Does it say Lindsey Graham for Senate or does it just say Graham for Senate? No, it's Lindsey Graham for Senate. Okay. And the Darling Graham, by the way, I did see a news report, Darling Graham's TV ads begin on Thursday in most markets in South Carolina. So I guess we'll start seeing those. I got my Darwin Graham direct mail piece, first one yesterday. From her campaign or from the pack? You know, I didn't look and check to see, but I mean, I've seen one from the super pack, the security, the Lindsey Graham super pack. I have not seen anything from her yet. Now, the one that you got, did it have a picture of her and her entire family on the beach? I'm not sure. Because that's what I looked at. And there's two-sided, obviously. But I was like, oh, there's got a picture of her. And, you know, I didn't read it. Like most pieces of mail, I don't read it. And then I just flipped it over. And I saw that it did have a picture of her husband and children. And I guess maybe one of them's married or something to that extent because it looked like a slightly extended family. So I just said, oh, there we go. Darling, Graham is definitely all in. I understand they're having some fundraisers with K Street people this week. So, you know, we'll keep our eyes on that. And again, I'm reaching out to the Graham campaign. They asked for a little grace in this time of morning. Hopefully maybe next week we can get her on. That would be awesome. I got... Somebody naming themselves Jesus Christ, who did declare themselves the only son of the living God was at the... the voting office yesterday trying to declare his candidacy, but he was denied. We talked about the co-chair being on Fox News over the weekend, talking about, yeah, we want to get rid of most branches of government. We're going to get rid of the Supreme Court. We're going to get rid of the presidency. We're going to get rid of the Senate. We want to get rid of all that. There's also... Zohran Mamdani in New York City. Now, the great lie that socialists always tell you is it's just the elite. That's all we want. We just want them. And whether they're saying we want their heads, which is what was the case in like...

with Mao and others. In this instance, Zohran Mamdani started gradually. We're just going to tax the richest of the rich, the pied, the dead, the people with the $5 million in more homes. Well, it turns out not so much. According to the New York Post, Zohran Mamdani sent out 960,000 of these bills. Now, interestingly enough, in the New York City area, there's only about 1 million residential tax lots. In other words, if you own property in New York City, you're getting whacked right now. This is the great lie. So the headline or the cover of the New York Post says, tax the rich question mark. Some of these people that are getting... These letters from Zohran Mamdani talking about an increase in their taxes, they're living in literally 1,100 square foot homes. You're the rich. That's not a mansion. 1,100 square foot homes. Now, originally it said it was going to be 31,000 homes. That's it. Just 31,000. And so if you're in a city of, well, there's a million people who actually own homes here, okay, well, that's just the upper, upper, upper rich. Then you find out it's 960,000. It's literally just about everybody who owns anything. And if you look at like they're in the post, they're talking about certain things like on Staten Island. Now, Staten Island. I don't even know how Staten Island is considered New York City. If you've ever been to Staten Island, it doesn't feel anything at all like New York City. But it talks about some of the streets there where the average home price on those streets is $500 to $800,000. They all got hit. They're all getting taxed. And again, it was supposed to be a Pied de Terre tax. This is just for the people who have second homes. That was scrapped. It's everybody is going to be getting, they're trying to raise billions and billions of dollars in taxes in order to give severe discounts at grocery stores or something to that extent. This is the great lie of socialism. It's not going to affect you. It's only going to help you. No, if you actually are a productive member of society, socialism. will always hurt you. It's going to hit you, and it's going to hurt like hell. Zohran Mamdani is revealing it a lot quicker than I had assumed. Again, maybe that's part of the polling that we were talking about with Kathy Hochul, and the Democrats are continuing to, they're just imploding right now with this Democrat socialist movement. Redistributing our wealth. The question is to whom? If I'm the middle class and you're taking it from me, who are you giving it to? Anyway, that's going on in New York. What's going on in South Carolina? We'll take another look at that in South Carolina's morning news. Post and Courier has an interesting op-ed piece in there this morning talking about smaller communities being scammed.

At the government level, it talks about the Surfside Beach in ORI County, municipality, bilked out of $549,000 by scammers who were able to impersonate legitimate contractors doing utility work. This also follows up, or was the, I guess, predated what happened in Lawrence County, who lost one and one and a half million dollars by paying fake invoices after a county employee believed that the emails were in fact being sent by a South Carolina construction company. And the Post and Courier's research says that what's happening is one in four. of South Carolina's 271 municipalities fail to actually properly keep their books. And so because of that, we're getting built at the local level out of tens of millions of dollars. And I'm not, the op-ed seems to be calling for the state government to step in and do a better job of monitoring the local government's finances, which... No. I just think that the people who live in this town have to do a better job of hiring people to look out for their books. We're electing leaders, Kelly, whichever the case. But yeah, no, it's it's up to you. And it's your taxpayer dollars that are at stake. Yes. And again, I would say the same thing. If the state of South Carolina is failing to do its job to protect our money, I would not want more federal input. on how the state runs its money. I always think that the government is best, the closer it gets to the people. Because you're the people who can, I mean, you can actually go and talk to your elected officials in Surfside Beach. You can go and talk to these people. It's not like they're hard to find. You can say, hey, listen, what are we doing? Who are we hiring? How did we fall for this? The FBI says this is going all across the country. And right now, small towns are losing about $2 billion a year in scams. Well, as you pointed out last week in that story, then I think, again, was in the Post and Courier. There are a lot of towns the state does require you do an audit every year and come up with... with a balanced book before you get any taxpayer dollars coming back to you. And there are a lot of towns out there who weren't even doing that. Yeah. Again, the Post and Curry are reporting one out of every four South Carolina municipalities fail to keep their books properly. That's incredible. I mean, fix your books for God's sakes. Check with your local. If you live in a small town, check with your mayor or somebody. How are our books? Are they up to snuff? Put some pressure on these people. I just want to see Dr. Anthony Fauci. You know, we haven't really seen him much. He last testified back in 2022. He's now 85 years old, and he suddenly could be a much more sympathetic-looking figure as he sits behind that table. I haven't checked Kalshi. I wonder if there's an odds on, does he wear a mask? Will Anthony Fauci wear a mask today? Triple mask at Anthony Fauci. Yeah, I'm sure there's a bet on that for some reason. Somebody's going to have that. Well, this is going to be a historic day. I mean, obviously here in South Carolina, we're burying Lindsey Graham, but this Anthony Fauci thing, like you say, if he, if he lies despite the pardon, he could end up going to jail. Well, right. And it's because the pardon doesn't cover everything, right? It doesn't cover state crimes. It doesn't cover civil protections. It doesn't cover congressional investigations. As we see, you know, he's here now. You know, Dr. Anthony Fauci resigned or retired rather in 2022 as well. So, you know, he's only appearing at this hearing because of a subpoena that was issued by Senator Paul. Great stuff, Roy. Certainly appreciate it. And what do you think? Is he going to plead the fifth? I don't think he's going to plead the fifth, no. But, you know, let's see how careful the testimony is, again, because either the diary pages to what he said in press conferences, to what he said under oath, to what he says today, all that stuff has to line up. This is South Carolina's morning. With Kelly Nash. All right. And I think this is the first guest that we've had in the studio while we're live. And I've got to figure out which Mike he's on. Is it two or three? Say good morning. Joe Wilson. Good morning. Joe Wilson, a member of Congress from South Carolina. Yeah, and the reason I wanted you to come in, I knew you were going to be in town for the funeral today for your great friend, Lindsey Graham, but you have been fighting so hard for the city of Charleston to host a big security event. Can you talk about that? Indeed, and first of all, I was so grateful to be with Congresswoman Sherry Andy Biggs yesterday to represent the House at the funeral at the U.S. Capitol, but also as part of that. I've been working to have their organization of securing cooperation in Europe, having their parliamentary assembly in Charleston, July 5 to 9, 2027, and I, next year, and I've been working with Senator Graham, and I, sadly, when he passed away, I got in touch with President Trump that the parliamentary assembly, which would bring 300 parliamentarians from 55 countries to Charleston to South Carolina. sadly there was an effort to sabotage that and move the assembly to Serbia

to Belgrade Serbia. And so, and my view is it needs to be in Charleston. It's a great venue showing for our love and affection of Senator Graham, as we saw with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday. And if I understand correctly, and we're not going to name names here, but sadly, this effort to move it from Charleston, South Carolina to Serbia is not necessarily being led just by the Serbs. There's actually U.S. legislators involved. It's just very perplexing to me and I was insulted for the people of South Carolina. Initially I was told that Charleston couldn't handle this because there was not sufficient catering. And my immediate response was, wait a minute, we have an ocean of shrimp and grids. Yes. We, hey, one of the catering centers, culinary centers of the world is a place called Charleston, South Carolina. Then they told me, well, you don't have staffing. When I got to the Hague for this year's conference, I found out all the staffing are unpaid volunteers. And the Citadel has many unpaid volunteers who be eager to participate. And then if they don't, within walking distance to the Gileard Center that we already have on hold, the convention center, there are 11,000 students at the College of Charleston. So is it now down between like Belgrade and Charleston? Yes, it's between Belgrade and Charleston. And what I'm really hoping. is that people find out the absurdity of not having it in the United States and having it in Serbia because they are able to cater and have staffing. They even have interpreters. And I explained to people that I was told we didn't have interpreters. And my immediate response was what Kelly Nash would expect. I didn't laugh. I said, are you telling me America doesn't have interpreters? And then I found out the interpreters are provided by OSCE. And so over and over again, every time somebody comes up with an excuse to not come to the United States, I am very eager to point out that that's not true. It's very hard for me to say other terminology, but it's not true. We're talking with Congressman Joe Wilson, who represents me in the Columbia area, but is fighting so hard for Charleston, which, if I'm not mistaken, is where you were born. That's my birthplace. I know the capability. Ironically, Kelly, where the convention center is, where all the beautiful five-star hotels are, I had a newspaper out there when I was in high school delivering the evening post. And so I know the area. I know how easy it would be. and how wonderful it would be for parliamentarians from 55 countries to come to South Carolina, to Charleston, and they'd be bringing staff, they'd be bringing media. I've already had a number of ambassadors in Washington tell me they were going to accompany the delegation from their home country from all over the world, from Vancouver to Vladivostok. And if we're fortunate enough to get this for Charleston, it would be taking place next July 5th through the 9th. Yeah, a year from now. And so, hey, as they tell me that you're going to have a year to get catering together, I can do that, okay? I even know the caterers. And I, hey, and after we have the shrimp in grits, I can't wait to show them the she crab soup. And so, hey, all is, this is so insulting.

Yes. To the people of South Carolina of the United States. And so I'm going to keep fighting because I know what I'm doing is right. And I spoke with the president. Sadly, it was the day after the morning after Senator Graham passed away and we were commiserating. And I mentioned to him that I was putting this together. It would be a forum for the president also to be there to. to speak to parliamentarians from 55 countries. And then also I had an ulterior motive. I was hoping the new governor of South Carolina, who I think maybe Alan Wilson, would be able to welcome the delegates. See, I've been working on this for three years. So again, Joe Wilson fighting so hard for Charleston, it obviously would have a huge economic impact just over that period of time, but also raises the profile of the city of Charleston globally. And you've been such a strong voice on this, partly based off the fact that you are, I think, are you the co-chair of the Helsinki Commission? I'm the co-chair, and then it alternates between Senate and House. January 1, I'm chairman. Now, I was delegation chairman to the Hague, and the bottom line, I just, Lindsey Graham was such a strong supporter of working together with me on this issue, and I'm so hoping, and I have introduced a resolution with 41 co-sponsors, and this would include former chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Greg Meeks, who was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Additionally, I've been working with Congressman Jim Clyburn. It's bipartisan. All the members of the delegation except for one have signed on in the House. And then I'm very big. Everyone but one in South Carolina? Yes. Do we want to say the one? No. my gosh, this is crazy. All right. Well, again, when will this be decided? How will we, when will we find out if Charleston won over Bosnia or whatever? We're going to be, well, that Bosnia is next door. And hey, and I'm glad you brought that up. There's a conflict between Serbia and Bosnia, also in Herzegovina and also northern and Mano Negro and Kosovo. We don't need to go to where it's a country that's actually controversial. We need to be a place where it's love and peace and security and it's called. Lindsey Graham's Holy City of Charleston. When will this be figured out? It may take time. It still may take time. But hey, I want the American people, when they find out, hey, we're in competition with Serbia, the American people are going to, 99% are going to be in the United States. I can't believe that Belgrade could possibly beat Charleston for anything. Well, in particular, and it's really sad, I am being very polite on this. There's undue Russian influence there. Serbia still buys oil and gas from Russia. Their oil company in Serbia recently has been sold to war criminal Vladimir Putin. They have their communications as provided by the Chinese Communist Party, and they were so thoughtful sending a delegation to Tehran on the unfortunate passing of dictator Khomeini. And so there's a relationship to the dictators around the world.

And that's the reason I moved from New York City to Charleston was because I couldn't believe what a gem of a city it was. And that was 23 years ago. And it's only gotten better since. Absolutely. And I used to work in convention catering down in Charleston. Did you? Well, it was, but these were smaller. organizations that we were dealing with but i i mean charleston has the capacity to do a lot and certainly would make this particular convention i mean it would be a worldwide success and that would only generate more attention for south carolina in general and in the fact

I can't believe that Roger Wicker would do that. I also can't believe that there was one of the South Carolina delegation that apparently is not going to co-sponsor it. And apparently he's an upstate congressperson. So it's nobody from the low country. He doesn't listen to this show. It's that Greenville-Charleston rivalry. You know what? Maybe that's what it is. I just wanted to find out if you guys have talked about Mark Samford running for the Senate. I got to be honest with you, I saw an interview, and he looked pretty dang humble considering what he's been through. And considering his track record, I think I'm going to vote for him as opposed to anybody else on the ticket. What do you guys think? Love to hear from you. Well, thank you, Roy. I appreciate the talkback on the I-Heart Radio app. And, yes, we have spoken with Mark Sanford. As a matter of fact, we had him on earlier this week. I have a podcast with him where we speak for, I think, 15 or 20 minutes about his candidacy, what brought him back, how he was completely in his mind out of politics and all that sort of stuff, what he's been up to. You can get all that. If you look for the national briefing, and you spell national like my name, N-A-S-H. The National Briefing. It's a morning podcast typically goes about 10 minutes. Sometimes we do special editions. Like we had one this week with Alan Wilson. We've had Ralph Norman was on there. Mark Sanford was one of them on those special edition national briefing podcast. But I don't typically say. whom I'm going to vote for. But I will say that I was very impressed with Mark Sanford. He is certainly not lost any votes. I mean, he's, you know, look at the, he was out of that first congressional district race for over a month, I think, and still wound up getting, what, 8% of the vote? I mean, he's, he's a popular guy down there. He is, I think most of his personal baggage probably is in our rearview mirrors at this point. I mean, that's the major, isn't that the major criticism of Mark Sanford these days is, you know, what happened when he was governor and, you know, he briefly abandoned ship? And that's one of those things, though, for the people who that's the issue, they're not going to let that go. That's kind of like saying, you know.

asking his wife, did you let it go? No, she's never, and she divorced him, and she got married to somebody else, and she's moved down with her life. There's a lot of people who feel like I have divorced him, and I am not coming back to him. I'm not going to trust him, and that's just where they're at, and you're not going to win those people back over. I guess not. I don't know. The country's changed quite a bit since then. South Carolina has changed quite a bit since then. It looks like, it feels like we... We managed to overlook a lot of things we don't like about our politicians in order to elect them. So I'm not sure the – I don't think the climate is as harsh for Mark Sanford as it might have been even five years ago. Well, and then the other thing that works in his favor – is our downfall, our national debt. And there's very little discussion in the national scene. I mean, and I tried to get Mark Sanford to say something about Lindsey Graham and the approval of the spending packages. Because Lindsey Graham, by the Heritage Foundation, I think, had like a lifetime score of around 60-something because he was not a fiscal conservative. Mark Sanford is a legendary fiscal hawk, and he will be pushing the president who, again, Donald Trump is not a fiscal conservative, has never been in his private life or his public life, and I'm not expecting him to change. But again, that's why Congress is supposed to control the purse strings. And I would like to see Congress rise up and take more of a... a leading role, which is what they're supposed to be doing and controlling what kind of spending we have in this country, they have failed. We're now averaging, Sanford said it was a trillion dollars of debt every hundred days. I'm apparently going to be a part of a panel for gray media, which is going to be pre-recorded, and I'm not even really sure how this is going to work, but I was supposed to ask questions. And so one of the questions I was working out is, what does that actually look like per taxpayer per day? And right now, We're running a national debt at about $50 per taxpayer per day. So every day you and I, Christopher, go another $50 in the hole, which is an unbelievable figure when you think about it because we send so much of our money to D.C. And especially when we see programs we don't necessarily agree with that are getting funded by Congress, new programs that pop up. And we're pulling our hair out saying, wait a minute, in my household. We can't afford to spend money on new things. We're still trying to pay for the things, the basic services we need every day. But Congress goes and spends willy-nilly. Very willy-nilly. But again, that lane that we're talking about with the fiscal conservatives, that's also going to be pretty absorbed by Ralph Norman. So Ralph Norman versus Sanford is... That's a big one, depending on how people break there. I'm not sure which Lane Russell Fry is going to be feeling. And I'm not even sure, like, what does the Darlene Graham voter look like? We have no idea. She's winning in the polls, but we're not sure, like, why other than...

Her brother had the seat. So I don't, and she wants to be different than her brother, she said. So if you liked Lindsey Graham as a senator, you might not like Darling Graham as a senator. But we don't know. She's a mystery right now. She is a mystery. We don't know the first thing about her beliefs and what she plans to do as senator. And after today, I will. circle back and start trying to work with the campaign again to try to get her on because so many of you want to hear from her, we're working on that as well. Lots to cover. I mean, how many, we got nine candidates now? Nine. Nine have been approved to run. Twelve wanted to run. Yeah, 13. Don't forget, Jesus Christ tried to file at the last second yesterday. Some guy calling himself Jesus Christ tried to run for the Senate yesterday and was denied at the last second. Did he have residential issues? You know what? Maybe this is not my home. He kept saying that. All right, we got more to cover on South Carolina's morning news. You're listening to South Carolina's morning news with Kelly Nash. Well, if you've ever been to MacB, it's probably because you went to McLeod Farms to get a peach. It's a one traffic light town in almost the middle of nowhere, South Carolina. Yesterday, the mayor surrendered to sled. along with the former police chief, former captain, numerous officers. This is a, turned out to be quite a scandal that investigative reporter Jody Barr started breaking back in 2024. There's some, I cannot believe this. Apparently these officers. Under the direction of the mayor, this is the allegation, of course, they'll stand trial for this. We're directed to just write numerous tickets for going through a traffic light, even though people weren't going through the traffic light. The tickets ranged from $200 to $440. The mayor is pushing. They got screenshots of the text messages where the mayor is pushing. This is a text message between, I guess, the mayor and one of the police officers. He says, how many have we got today? He said 50. 50 tickets had been issued in one traffic light town. The mayor responds, is 70 possible? And then before he could respond, he said, how many did we get at 440? And the guy said, I believe so. So he's responding to the 70 possible. Then about an hour later, how many did you finish with? I'm at 59 right now, about to get my 60th as we speak. All 440s, only 10. All else were at 232.50. Can you get to 62? Get it? How much can you go? Oh, I got to 64. Mayor, damn, I love this job.

So they were trying to get money to pay for new patrol cars, new equipment. But they were actually taking taxpayer dollars in two different ways because at the same time they were ticketing people who drove through. They were also asking for huge federal loans. On one day, July 5th, 89 tickets for over $21,000 were written. How did they think they were going to get away with this? eventually everyone I mean people were aware anyway you couldn't speed through that town it became known as a speed trap but then you know I think people started gradually saying wait a minute this is pretty suspicious I wasn't doing anything wrong Yeah. And enough people came forward. And once enough people started contacting the news or whatever, Jody Barr ran with it, and he's got people saying, you know, police officers were telling him, yet we were required minimum 10 tickets a day. And we were usually chastised if we got less than 15. At the same time, the town wanted $178,000 in federal loans. That's what greed will do to you. They were raping taxpayers in two different ways. Yeah, and how many of these people lived in MacB or just around it? I mean, it's not like that's like a place you just go to. Like I said, I went there once just to go to McLeod Farms, which is a beautiful farm thing if you get to go and have the peaches there. That's a lovely day. But wow, an unbelievable thing that this is now being spread through some of the national posts. A little old MacB South Carolina making the national news today. All right. Presidents, governors, mayors, school boards, corporations, and Congress all bear responsibility for the decisions they made. The COVID lockdown, however, could never have been inflicted without you aiding and abetting the crime. Children lost education. Small businesses built over a lifetime disappeared. Patients delayed cancer screenings and other medical care. Families were separated from dying relatives. Workers were ordered to accept a medical procedure or lose their jobs. Worship assembly, employment, education, and travel were restricted in the name of science. While you did not impose every restriction, you used your public authority to justify them.

And I imagine it's going to be a long day for Anthony Fauci. I think it's going to be. I mean, goodness, great. And he deserves it. He absolutely, you know, I was thinking of this yesterday. When I was a young person, I remember all the libs yelling, Bush lied, people died. Could we not just change the name from Bush to Anthony Fauci? I don't see why not. I mean, definitely there was an increase in deaths not caused by COVID, but caused by depression, loneliness, drug addiction, alcoholism. It all skyrocketed during that era because Anthony Fauci was lying about a lot of different things. And today will be a very interesting hearing. I hope they get to the bottom of some of this. And how can you pardon somebody preemptively when you haven't charged him for a crime yet? Biden knew. He didn't know much, but he knew that one. All right. I, guys, I hope you have an awesome day.
