Follow and listen on your favorite. platform. Are you all in or all out? That's a question I'm asking people when it comes to Iran as we have opt our military strikes against them. We're still trying to negotiate, but even Mark Oruvue said, you know, the memorandum of understanding it's over. I don't know if it ever really began, to be honest with you, at least the... parts of it, the Seasfire parts of it, because by the way, got a bunch of texts weighing in on this on the text monster. We're here on Yaffi Live. I am Tennessee's voice of reason. Chattanooga's conservative conscience, are you just texting in from a bunch of different numbers, Max? These answers. No, no. Are you sure? Okay, I'm just checking because one person said, make Iran a parking lot. Sounds like something Max. Well, that sounds like something I've said in the past. Nice. You know that sand when you put enough heat on it turns right into glass. Yeah, that's what I've heard. Yeah. I know the process. Another person said, I say, bomb them all and let God sort it out. So that's why I'm saying. Okay. One person did say this, though. Like I said, you can weigh an all in or all out. 423-267-102-3. One person said if Iran is as weak as Trump says they are, which who in the hell knows when he's telling the truth, then just get out. If they're that weak, then we've set them back a decade or two by now. So saying maybe it's time to leave. We've already done enough damage. Yeah, I don't think so. Especially with the straight still not completely open. When it comes to the drone technology, they can build back pretty quickly. But I will say this, leaving would be better than the middle ground. I would much rather just pick up and leave than not finish the job. I will say that. Now, Marsha Blackburn talked about kind of the issue over funding because there's extra funding for the military. They're trying to pass in Congress through a reconciliation package. Probably not enough. There's now talk about another reconciliation package after this, but here's what Blackburn said, one of Tennessee's U.S. senators. And what we know is during the Biden years, they did not move forward with what needed to be done with modernizing our military. And now we see that our military numbers, recruitment numbers are being met. We are also seeing that there is more of a call to invest in hypersonics, in drones, in space force, and 21st century activity that is going to make us competitive in the way that we need to be. be. I fully believe that you're going to see us move forward with the reconciliation bill. We are encouraging the House to stay in D.C. and get this done so that we do not have a shutdown. And you talked about that earlier with Senator John Fetterman. We don't want to see another shutdown. We want to make certain that...

we are going to fully fund the government. We're going to do a continuing resolution. We're going to keep the doors open and allow our military to actually enter into these contracting projects that are going to help to keep our nation safe. All right. So hopefully, yeah, we can't get more funding for the military and everything else. One more cut here from Blackburn. I think that it does have a shot at getting passed in the Senate. We are looking forward to receiving that bill and seeing what the House is able to get into it and then bear in mind, we can pass this with 51 votes and making certain that we are putting that attention on how we fund our military and how we address the threats that are out there globally, whether it's the Middle East, whether it's Russia, whether it is what it is. is happening in the Western Hemisphere. We want to make certain that our military has what they need to do the job to protect us. And a lot of people will point out that, oh, we spend more on military than ever, more than other countries. But as a percentage of GDP, we're actually pretty well. We're not spending what we should be, at least historically. By the way, on Marsha Blackburn, one person weighed in on the text monster and said, can't vote for a person that will not debate their opponent. So there you go. We're talking about Marsha Blackburn, not agreeing to a debate for the Republican primary. Yeah, I don't even know if she would debate the Democrat, honestly. Maybe in the future. But if she's up by a lot against the Democrat, maybe not. I have no idea. That's a good point. Talking about elections here, we also have the election going on in Memphis or Justin Pearson, you know. Max is his biggest fan. Yeah, yeah, the guy that was up in the trooper's face screaming curse words at him and acting like a damn fool. Uh-huh, and that's... Yeah, I'd like to have him running for office. Uh-huh. I mean, I don't think he really has a chance of winning now because of redistricting everything. I hope not. But yeah, he's had several problems. We've talked about it on this show. According to The Guardian, Memphis rallies for progressive Democrat. says more than a thousand people rallied for Justin Pearson, a Democratic state representative running for Congress. This is in the wake of four fatal shootings by members of Donald Trump's Memphis Safe Task Force over the last two months. So he's rallying against the Safe Task Force. He wants it to be disbanded. He doesn't like it. It's been one of the more successful law enforcement initiatives I've ever seen in my wife. When you're dealing with these people that want to fight to police and shoot it to police and play games, somebody's going to get hurt. At 99 times out of 100, it's going to be the other guy. Yeah. I would much rather it be the other guy than the officer. Absolutely.

So one, well, this is what Pearson said. He goes, today we are in a fight of our lives to make this district, our state, and this nation better for ourselves and for those who will come after us. I mean, Memphis has been, I mean, let's be honest. It was a hell. Yeah, and it was Democrat controlled for a long time before the Safe Task Force. So, you know, it's just, but one of the things that made headlines at this rally. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-Arach. Now, she had said this once before. The last time she said this, it was in a trip to Montgomery, Alabama. And it was a reaction to all of the redistricting, the gerrymandering stuff, the court case, the Supreme Court. Well, she said it again. And then you also notice she has like a fake accent. It got a lot of attention because she kind of plays. With the accent, here it is. About a month or two ago, we're in Montgomery, Alabama. Sister Presley and I were in Montgomery, Alabama. One of the things that we said was that it is time for the north to roll up to the south.

We will not be chased out of places anymore, brothers and sisters. It is going to take all of us together, rejecting the separation for us to organize and speak life into one another because we will, we will see the day where we will turn the crooked path straight, Memphis. You won't be chased out of places anymore. What is she even? talking about. She's so stupid. She has no clue. What is she even talking about? Oh, man. Did you hear how there was a little bit, she tried to play the accident and then kind of changed her mind. The brothers and sisters. And then changed her mind midway through that, a little bit of pandering there. Stick to the bartending. She's still going to be a member of Congress for a long time. They keep voting for her up there for something. They're crazy. They keep voting for her up there. She's going to run for president. I'm telling you. Oh, is she? Oh, good. I'm telling you. She's going to run for president. That's when I'm moving. If she becomes president, I don't know if she would. I will say this, though, when she says we're not going to be chased out anymore, when I think of people being chased out. It's been conservative speakers on college campuses or Jewish groups on college campuses or other places who have been chased out by the radical left. It hasn't been, it hasn't been, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is fine. She goes to Memphis. No one is chasing her out. This is completely absurd and ridiculous. I don't understand why we can't just support law enforcement. Now, something that does come up in the Sunday New Show's recap, I'll get to later. But you do see some Democrats that are kind of like not on board with some of this stuff. They're just like... Well, they're starting to realize they're fixing to cut her own throat. Yeah, that is exactly what's happening. That's exactly what's happening. But yeah, she held a rally. It says Pearson is one of the two legislators who were expelled from the Republican-controlled Tennessee General Assembly in April of 2023 after protesting the lack of gun control legislation following the Covenant School shooting in Nashville earlier that year. Of course, they wanted to make it about gun control, not about the fact that that shooter targeted Christians because she was transgender and all of that stuff. They ignored that part of it. They didn't want to talk about that part of it. They just wanted to make it about gun control. Because of course they did. Of course they did. Need a little of that in Memphis. Gun control, yeah. Well, I mean, they've had a little bit of it and it's absolutely worked. And nobody wants it, you know. Get out of here. You're cleaning our town up. How dare you? That's actually a really good point. You know, the cops have come in and had a bunch of people arrested for gun charges. And you don't see the Justin Pearson's of the world celebrating that. You would think they love themselves some gun control. Well, you have police and federal forces.

10:42

In Memphis, cleaning up the streets. Part of that is going after gun crime. And Justin Pearson says, no, they should be disbanded. That is an interesting point. I'm glad you brought that up. Now, Pearson, who is 31, has emerged as a progressive firebrand in his short tenure as an elected official. He had planned to challenge Steve Cohen. Memphis is a long-serving Democratic congressman before the redistricting. But Cohen retired rather than run in an altered district. But Pearson hopes to capitalize in the volunteer army and vigor for progressive politics and Democratic primaries. So Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was there. She said, when I think about where my first political consciousness was formed, it actually didn't come from a book written by Marx. It came from watching what happened in Memphis and Montgomery, in Selma, in Atlanta. I don't even know what is she talking about. I think it came from a... Is she admitting she's a communist? She's saying, she's got to be 80 years old if she remembers that. Yeah, I'm 74 and it was going on when I was a child. Yeah, but they make the argument that it's still going on, Max, don't you know? The South hasn't changed at all. It's still Jim Crow. You didn't know, Max? Well, she needs to come down here and take a look before she jumps. I don't know. She probably could take a look and she still wouldn't believe it. Still problems, but it's so much improved from what it used to be. Of course it is. That is one of the more frustrating things about when it comes to like Black Lives Matter. They never want to admit the progress that's been made. I mean, they really want to act like nothing has changed, which is completely absurd on every front. We can acknowledge the sins of the past, but also acknowledge how much progress has been made and also acknowledge the beauty of our country, the greatness of America. I don't know why it's so hard to do that. But this kind of stuff just helps her opponent. I mean, her going down there and rallying for Justin Pearson is just going to help Brent Taylor win against him. I don't think Pearson has a chance. So I don't know. But, you know, Pearson. I mean, I'm sure he would want to be elected, but I'm sure he knows he's not going to win, but he wants to be like a left-wing pundit. He wants the attention. He wants to be on television. Yeah, he wants to be on TV, he wants social media fame and all that stuff. Eventually he raised, I mean, that's what this is about, which is fine. I guess it's a free country, but it's just kind of sad he gets the attention he does. So if you want a way and you can, we have the text monster. 423-267-1023. 423-267-1023. Someone pointed out that Kamala Harris is about, so it's called, what is it called? Switching, something switching when you like pretend you have a different accent or something, there's a word for that. Switching, anyway, there's a word for that, but Kamala Harris used to do that too, where all of a sudden. Oh, yeah, she'd sound like, yeah. Yeah, she would sound completely different to a different audience. Yeah. Hillary Clinton got caught doing that once. which is really funny. So fake. Yeah, it's fake. All right, we're going to move on to sports in the next segment. We have the Sunday news show's recap coming up later on as well. You're listening to Yef You Live.
