Some parts of it are seemingly partisan gratuitousness on the part of MS Now that leaked it. A Secret Service agent accused of leaking details about Vice President JD Vance's movements placed on leave. I think my main focus is really genuinely just the midterms right now. Future things can come in the future, but there's one thing at a time. A pair of new polls reshaping the prospective 2008 Democrat presidential field as two of the leading contenders face questions about whether they plan to run. Minnesota assassin JD Vance Belter sentenced for the deadly attacks on two Democrat lawmakers and their families, and the World Series champion Dodgers honored at the White House. A secret service agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance's protective detail placed on administrative leave. Over allegations, the agent leaked sensitive information about the vice president's movements to the press, according to CNN. The Secret Service confirming Thursday that a member of its Vice Presidential Protective Division is now facing an administrative investigation and a possible criminal inquiry. The agency is declining to identify the employee or specify exactly what information may have been disclosed. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglialli, releasing a statement, quote, Well, we will not comment on the specifics of this matter. One principle is unequivocal. Any conduct that undermines the trust and confidence between a protectee and their protective detail is fundamentally incompatible with our mission and will not be tolerated. The employee suspected of serving as a source for an MS Now report published last week detailing alleged frustration among agents protecting the vice president and his family. MS Now reporting some members of the detail had grown exasperated by frequent last-minute changes to the JD Vance's personal travel, sometimes forcing agents to cancel days off and rapidly assemble new security plans. The report pointing to one plan trip in particular, in which Mr. JD Vance and one of his sons were expected to fly aboard a Marine Corps helicopter to a golf lesson at Joint Base Andrews. That flight ultimately canceled because of severe thunderstorms and high winds around Washington. MS now characterizing the complaints as evidence of a growing morale problem inside the detail assigned to protect the vice president, second lady Usha JD Vance, and their young family, which welcomed its fourth child on Sunday. CNN reporting the controversy comes as the Secret Service continues grappling with staffing shortages, leaving agents to work longer hours in an already demanding and high-stakes assignment. The publication of information about the vice president's planned movements reportedly infuriating officials at the Secret Service, the FBI, and the White House. A former Secret Service agent telling CNN that publicizing the movements of two protectees, including a minor, exposed what the agent described as a serious vulnerability inside the agency. The vice president's office responding to the original MS Now report in a statement, quote, the vances are grateful to the men and women of the U.S. Secret Service who serve our country with distinction.

while protecting a vice president with a large policy portfolio and a young and growing family presents a unique challenge agents of the secret service do so with excellence every day we spoke with real clear politics national correspondent susan crabtree who has reported extensively on the secret service and who says the strain inside vice president JD Vance's protective detail has been building for more than a year I've been reporting on the understaffing of JD Vance's Secret Service detail for more than a year. I've heard multiple, multiple complaints, and I've been reporting on this in various stories and tweets. The Secret Service, the presidential detail is... almost twice as large, from what I understand, as a vice president's detail. But of course, JD Vance is doing more than half a amount of, he's trifling. at least twice as much, if not likely more. He's very integral to this administration far more than VP Harris was. And he also has young kids. So that is stressing, providing a lot of stress for the detail. And they haven't done anything at the leadership level that I know of to address these concerns that have been simmering on the detail for months and months. Crabtree expanded on the differences between Vice President JD Vance and Vice President Harris in the last administration. Her travel wasn't as near as extensive and her responsibilities. You didn't have her leading negotiations with foreign countries that were at war with. I mean, there was just no comparison whatsoever. So, I mean, obviously during her campaign schedule, there was more activity level. But the... Size of the detail, as I understand it, has not increased since JD Vance has taken the job and has obviously a much more vigorous schedule and has little kids that he wants to be involved with their lives, even though he is the vice president of the United States. Crabtree places much of the responsibility on agency leadership. I think it's an issue of nuts. not standing up and speaking truth of power. You know, obviously, Sean Curran is very close to President Trump, and he, that's why Trump selected him and trusts him. But in every blue ribbon report that's been issued over the last decade on the Secret Service problems, they say do not choose your detail leader. Sometimes you don't have the experience level if you're just a campaign detail leader. And you haven't risen through the ranks of outside organization, like reforming a police department. He didn't have the leadership jobs before becoming the director that really most directors do.

While Crabtree believes the staffing complaints deserve serious scrutiny, she argues parts of the original MS Now report were aimed more at embarrassing Mr. JD Vance than addressing the underlying problem. Some parts of it are seemingly partisan gratuitousness on the part of MS Now that leaked it, you know, the fact that he was going, that there was a request that JD Vance was accompanying his son to a golf course on Joint Base Andrews. That, to me, seems like totally. And that was played up as some kind of elitism, you know, privilege, when that is the easiest way to transport the vice president and the president is by Marine 1 and Marine 2. The motorcades involve far more. agents. But what the issue that I think should have been had, it should have been at a leadership level that that Sean Curran or Matt Quinn, the deputy at the Secret Service, should have sat down with the scheduler for or the vice president himself and said, you know, there are some issues with how quickly you're doing some of the changes in these schedules. Crabtree also accuses the outlet of applying a double standard to the demands placed on agents protecting members of the Biden family. We didn't hear much about criticism of Hunter Biden's, taking care of Hunter Biden's children and from MS now or from this particular reporter during the Biden tenure. And it's interesting to note that it's even part of a lawsuit that a Secret Service agent is filed because he was penalized for telling Maisie Biden, who was Hunter Biden's daughter, that. Hey, your friends, they were, she was Carter. This particular agent was carting around Maisie Biden and her friends to, she was over 21 at the time. They were drinking. There was a lot of, you know, going to nightclubs. A friend said, hey, I'd like you to drop me off at a place before she, they dropped Maisie Biden at her final destination. And the Secret Service agent said, I'm not an Uber driver. And. The Maisie Biden then turned him in to his supervisors for saying that. And he believes he was penalized. I haven't heard any other reporters on the left, even though I had, I reported that. Was it last year or the year before? That story picked that story up in the same context. That it's, you know, that the Secret Service is being burdened by any of the duties that they have to be covering for the, providing security for the children. A pair of new polls offering very different snapshots of the still developing 28 Democrat presidential field.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York now leading the prospective field in New Hampshire, climbing to 22% in the latest Granite State poll from the University of New Hampshire. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg following closely at 21%, with Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona at 9, California Governor Gavin Newsom down to just 8%, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont at 6, and former Vice President Kamala Harris all the way down at 5%. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's rise marking a significant reshuffling since October. when Pete Buttigieg led with 19%, followed by Gavin Newsom at 15 and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 14%. The latest results show Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dominating among voters who identify as socialists and leading among progressives, while Pete Buttigieg draws more evenly from progressives, liberals, and moderates. A reporter from The Independent asking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wednesday for her reaction to the latest polling. Of course, I think very deeply humbled and grateful to you know folks who participate and convey that confidence and you know it's I'm honestly I think my main focus is really genuinely just the midterms right now we have to make sure that we win this majority A separate national survey released yesterday finding a different candidate at the front of the pack, the latest Emerson College poll placing Pete Buttigieg in first with 19%, followed by Gavin Newsom at 17%, Senator Jon Ossoff of Georgia and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tied at 13% while Vice President Harris receives 8%. Pete Buttigieg asked earlier this month in Iowa, where he was campaigning in support of Democrat congressional candidate Sarah Trone Garriott, whether he would rule out running in 2028. Pete Buttigieg replying, quote, nope. KCCI later pressing the former Transportation Secretary on whether he is actively considering a campaign. Are you considering a run for president in 2028? Well, I just think any decision about that has to come after we deal with what's on our plate right now. Future things can come in the future, but there's one thing at a time. The Emerson results also revealing some notable divides within the prospective field. Senator Assoff added to Emerson's list of prospective candidates this month, immediately entering the field with substantially greater among men than women. Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez performing considerably better among women, while Pete Buttigieg receives equal support from male and female Democrat voters. Former Vice President Harris, failing to register strong support in either poll, despite reporting that many of her advisors, see her as the 2028 frontrunner. 13% of Democrat voters remain undecided, more than two years before the first presidential primary votes are scheduled to be cast. Minnesota assassin JD Vance Belter sentenced yesterday for the shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses. Belter pleading guilty last month to all six federal charges against him, accepting two consecutive life sentences, plus another 40 years under a deal that spared him the death penalty. The attacks unfolding during the early morning hours of June 14th, 2025, with Belter wearing body armor and posing as a police officer as he traveled to the homes of Democrat elected officials. Belter first opening fire on Democrat State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, leaving both with life-threatening injuries and also attempting to shoot their daughter Hope. Belter then driving to the home of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, where police arriving for a welfare check encountered a vehicle made to resemble a police SUV. Belter shooting and killing both Hortmans and also shooting their dog Gilbert, who was later euthanized due to the severity of his injuries. Belter escaping and remaining on the run for roughly 43 hours, setting off what authorities described as the largest manhunt in Minnesota history before officers captured him near his home. Investigators recovering multiple firearms, ammunition, and notebooks containing the names and addresses of dozens of elected officials from Belter's vehicle. Authorities also finding a letter addressed to FBI director Kash Patel in which Belter admitted to the attacks while making a series of bizarre allegations. Among them, Belter claimed he had received secret quote, off the books, military training, and that Democrat Minnesota governor Tim Walz had asked him to kill Democrat senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith. The 59-year-old pleading guilty to two stalking counts, two counts of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and two counts of murder with a firearm. Belter also forced to sit through emotional statements from the victims and their families. Senator Hoffman describing the moment Belter opened fire on him and his wife, quote, he looked me in the eyes and pulled the trigger. He looked at my wife, Evette, and pulled the trigger again. Deliberate decisions to end our lives. Melissa Hortman's father saying, quote, the pain is so deep, this is my little girl. It is impossible to truly realize the damage that has been done to our family and society. Belter only sharing brief remarks, quote, to every person I have caused loss, pain, heartache, confusion, sadness, shame, or loneliness, I am truly sorry. Belter's legal battles not yet finished, the state prosecutor still pursuing murder, attempted murder, and other charges against him. Minnesota abolishing capital punishment more than a century ago, meaning Belter cannot face the death penalty in the state case. President Trump welcoming the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House yesterday. The celebration held in the Rose Garden, with many in the audience sporting Dodger Blue Baseball caps as the team marked its latest championship. The Dodgers defeating the Toronto Blue Jays to keep the World Series title in America last year, it was their second consecutive World Series win. Dodgers star Mukie Betts, skipping the trip to spend time with his wife and their newborn baby, stressing the decision was not political.

Utility player Kiki Hernandez also missing the visit while rehabbing an oblique injury, though he acknowledged he likely would not have attended even if healthy. President Trump singling out Dodger superstar Shohei Otani after another historic season for the three-time MVP. The 2025. Dodger season was won for the record books and 150 years of Major League Baseball. No player has ever earned more than one unanimous league MVP except for an international legend named Shohei Otani. That's him. He's amazing. He's amazing. Everybody loves him. Last year, Shohei did what was previously unthinkable. Nobody thought it was possible. In the postseason, the Dodgers exploded with nine wins in their first 10 games, unbeatable. In the National League Championship Series against the Brewers, the brilliant Dodgers pitching rotation of Blake, Snell, Tyler, Glassnow, Shohei, and of course, Yoshi Yamamoto combined for a record-setting ERA of just 0.63. The team then presenting President Trump with his own World Series championship ring, along with a custom Dodgers jersey bearing his name and the number 47.
