Bruce Blakeman | Nassau County Executive Still Surging to Become New York's Next Governor

Don't get your balls caught in your ass. What? Take it easy there. I've been a big, big show already this morning. Really loaded. Doe Hiking joined us very early on talking about... Well, two things, really, the Satmar community sucking up to Zohran Mamdani, pathetic. Two rabbis in particular, Titlebaum and Indig, both should be embarrassed. And the mayor's vile, wretched wife, that horrible creature, Ramaduaji, heading to Lebanon and Syria on taxpayer money. So Heikin was here. Then I had two guys running for governor, one running... In Florida, his primary is a week from today. He's going to win Byron Donalds's. Another guy called in this morning about the vote for himself in the state of Minnesota, Mike Lindell. So I said, let's keep this governor thing going with the guy that's going to win here in New York. And that is my dear friend Bruce Blakeman. Brucey, good Tuesday morning, buddy. How are you? I'm doing great, Sid. Just got back from traveling all around the state, and everybody's ready for change, and you've got a tremendous amount of support. We're going to win this thing. You were great with Bauteromo on Sunday. You know, I watch Maria every Sunday. She's my favorite show by a distance. I'm so happy to see you on there, and, you know, she pressed you pretty hard. You know, basically what are you going to do to fix? What do you think Kathy Hochul is broken? I think a lot of people are asking the same thing. What makes Bruce better than Lee Zeldin, who made it close? And I believe you do a great job of answering all those questions, whether it's taxes. You've done a great job in Nassau County with that. Bringing back energy, you always talk about that, Pennsylvania, what a joke that is. And, of course, maybe the most important of all, and part of the reason why Trump is going to be here Friday, which is law and order. I mean, you say it. Happy Hocal. No one coddles criminals. in the country more than Kathy Hochul. Isn't that right? Well, she's the most pro-criminal governor in the United States of America said, think about this. Every major criminal justice law that she signed or supported makes it easier for criminals to prey on our communities, to our neighborhoods. She has embraced cashless bail.

The HALT Act, which not only puts all of our corrections officers in danger, because now the prisoners are running to prison, but even the prisoners now are complaining about it, because it's unsafe for them. They don't want to be mingled together with nonviolent criminals and very violent criminals as the HALT Act requires, and then raise the age where there's no accountability. for a 15-year-old who commits an adult crime, well, guess what? Now the gang leaders are recruiting these young people because there's no consequences. So now all these young kids are involved in gang activity because of Kathy Hochul. So we are meeting on Friday with President Trump. We're going to show them our amazing, amazing law enforcement center there, the David S. Mack Intelligence and Training Center and the Harry Bola Singh. village that we had it's a training village it is the most state-of-the-art training village in the United States of America we have simulated banks train stations, gas stations, churches, synagogues, homes so that our police can have real-time training before they get out on the streets. He's coming to visit that and talk about law enforcement, and he's bringing Kash Patel, the FBI director, who is a Nassau County guy, grew up in Garden City. So we're really excited about that. Yeah, I know. Chris Boyle was breaking my balls because I was supposed to go out there when JD Vance was supposed to come and cut the ribbon. You remember? So I never got out there because that didn't happen. And he goes, you know, your son's been out there to the new police academy with Pat Ryder, but you haven't? I go, I know I'm very much looking forward to seeing all this on Friday. And not only is President Trump bringing Kash Patel, but I think he's also bringing Bruce Todd Blanche, right? We're hoping that he brings Todd Blanche. They're talking about it now. And there might be other cabinet members who are going to join. And it's going to be, as I said, a very enlightening discussion about law enforcement, about crime. And President Trump has been incredibly supportive of law enforcement. And I think that this will illustrate the contrast between those who are pro-criminal and those who want to protect our communities. President Trump is one of them. We work very closely together, and I'm looking forward to his visit very much. Look, he's made city safer, right? Bottom line, he's made Memphis safer. He's made Washington, D.C. safer. He's made Chicago safer. Given the opportunity, he would make our city safer. There's no question about it. I hope Howard Lutnick comes in, too, only because... Only a couple of weeks away from 9-11. He's a New Yorker. His brother was killed in those towers on that day. And Howard Lutnick usually does travel with President Trump anyway. But let's be honest. All these people are coming.

You know, a lot of folks running on the island, they're going to be there, I'm sure, that day with us, Michael Petrie and Driscoll and Lola and Gaborino and all of them. But the real reason why President Trump is coming to the island on Friday, above and beyond law and order, is to once again give you a very public and deserved, let me hear that word, Bruce, deserved ringing endorsement, yes? Well, that's very kind of you. But, Sid, I think he's coming here because Nassau County is a model of public safety. And I'm not just talking about our great police officers, but our corrections officers, our deputy sheriffs, our probation officers. And don't forget our volunteer firefighters and our EMTs. They do an amazing job every day. So President Trump is going to tour our facilities and he's going to honor them. They're the ones that are on the front line. You know, politicians take credit for policies that they have that make community safer. And I certainly do that as well. But I never forget that it's actually the people on the front lines who are doing the work. And I'm very grateful for all our law enforcement and public safety personnel here in our county. Bruce, how long have you known President Trump now for? Oh, I guess, I guess well over 25, probably 30 years. 30 years. And not just you, but he also loves your brother. I mean, I told this story a couple weeks ago when you were being inaugurated for the second time, when you won the Nassau County executive position, and I was with you that night at the beautiful aviation museum out there in Nassau County. Correct me if I'm wrong, when President Trump called you to congratulate you that night, your brother was sitting right next to him. Yeah, my brother worked in the West Wing for President Bush. He was there during 9-11, and after President Trump received the Republican nomination, my brother was a very, very vocal advocate when some of the Bush people weren't so supportive of President Trump. And President Trump is a very loyal guy, and he was very appreciative that my brother spoke out in his favor. So, yeah, he is in relationship with my brother who had dinner last night here on Long Island with my brother. He now works for Frank Siller and tunnels to Towers. Oh, really? I didn't know that. Yeah, he's a consultant to Frank Siller. And there's no better American in Frank Siller. I'm telling you right now what he has done for our veterans. for our law enforcement personnel, those who were in dire straits, those who were injured, those who were killed in the line of duty and left families. Frank Siller is a saint. Couldn't agree more. That's why I do the Tunnel to Towers every two weeks on this show. And he is a wonderful guy. His brother Steven Siller died that day. And as you told us on this program, you've said it a couple times since. You lost your nephew that day. Your sister, Linda's oldest son. If I remember correctly, Tommy Juergens, is that right? Sergeant Tommy Juergens died. A Real Hero was giving.

First aid to a woman who was severely burned in the lobby of Tower 2 when it collapsed on him and two other court officers. Oh, God. You know, when Trump... comes this week or when he leaves, the right before, right after. You know your opponent, Kathy Hochul. All she's going to talk about is how Bruce Blakeman is hanging out with President Trump and President Trump's policies are exactly what we don't want in New York, even though if New York ever had those policies, which they will. When you win, this would be a much better state. She's going to go nuts on you for days. You know that. Well, you know what? It's not bad to be the governor of the state and be able to pick up the phone and call the president and have him answer you immediately. Right. And also send you some money if you need it, God forbid, right? Well, listen, I'm just getting to that. So President Trump and I have talked a lot about energy. We talked about how we have one of the largest natural gas reserves in New York. And Kathy Hochul would rather buy it. from Pennsylvania, then extract it from New York and create jobs, create prosperity, and lower our electric bills. It's just insane her energy policy. So he's definitely going to help New York with that. And of course, economic development, create better jobs, higher-paying jobs with better benefits. That's how you make it more affordable by putting more money in people's pockets. And I know President Trump is going to help me and help New Yorkers. He loves New York. You know, he grew up in New York. He's a Queens guy. And he loves New York. But unfortunately, Kathy Hochul has been incredibly hostile to him. I don't understand her reasoning. And so has Zohran Mamdani, who is just, you know, an anti-American communist. So I just feel that she can say whatever she wants, but New Yorkers are smart. Did you hear what she said about upstate New Yorkers said? She said that they weren't sophisticated enough to make important decisions. Did you hear what she said about black kids? She said that black kids in the Bronx don't know what a computer is. I mean, what a racially charged statement that is, and it could not be further from the truth. I can guarantee you right now. There is no 10-year-old black kid in the Bronx. who would be worse on a computer than me. They'd all would be much better than me. They're technologically savvy. To say that about people and stereotype them, I think, is just a disgrace. She's stereotyping upstaters, black people. She joined with Zohran Mamdani in not attending the first time in history that they didn't have a Puerto Rican Day breakfast for the community leaders.

of the Puerto Rican American community. It's just one thing after other, leaving Little Italy off, both Little Italy, the one in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue and the one on Lower Manhattan, off the map of important tourist places where immigration was important. It just goes, line, chapter, and verse are the things that Kathy Hochul and Zohran Mamdani have done to make us more miserable and to divide us. This is the most divisive mayor and governor. that we've ever had in New York. Instead of unifying people like I want to do and like I've done in my county, they divide us. Why can't we bring people together? They are terrible people, both of them. And, you know, let's extend this to the mayor's wife. And I usually don't talk about people's spouses and all that. In fact, I never do ever, but she is such a vile, wretched creature dating back to the days when she was liking stuff on the internet about Israeli girls being raped and little babies being thrown in oven. She loved October 7th. She thought the freedom fighters did a great job. Now, now this lady, she's going to Lebanon and Syria, you know, Lebanon and Syria. She's taking an NYPD detail with her. You know what that means? I got a paper that. You got a paper that. Lou has to paper that. How in the world is that okay? Well, she's going to two countries where they are controlled by terrorists. where they don't have human rights. There are no democracies. They don't have an independent judiciary. If you're in the political opposition, you settle your battles with bombs and guns, not at the ballot box. These are people who throw gay men and women off of rooftops and killed them. They stone women for not dressing appropriately. How anybody could glorify. Those two places is beyond me. And certainly she is going there for the reasons that I say that he is anti-American. She is going there to support people who want to destroy our values and our government here in the United States. You know, on the way out every now and then, Bruce, I have to admit, I pinch myself because it's surreal to me that a million people wake up every day and they listen to me and they meet me at events and they go crazy and you've seen it, these people. And to me, it's like, I was just that, you know, that kid from Brooklyn, that, you know, I can possibly be in this position. And, you know, here you are. The President of the United States is coming to see you on Friday. And you got a big event. I'll be there too with you with Steve Witkoff on Long Island on Friday night. You're running for governor and you ever just sit back and have a cup of coffee and go, man.

I can't believe I've gotten here. What does it mean to you that you are our choice, our Republican choice, to be the governor of New York? Well, I'll tell you, every day I say that. You do, right? If you ask my teachers in high school whether I would be in this position, I think they would unanimously say. You know, you know, no way, right? You know what's funny about that? When I was in high school with Joe Takapina, there was a yearbook. It was called the polyglot. at Polly Prep, and they would have these end-of-year, you know, uh, contest, and they would rate people. And the two guys that were least likely to succeed in the sixth grade with Joseph Tocopina, who is the most famous defense attorney in the world and me. And now you're saying the same thing, right? In high school, they would have said Bruce Blakeman, no way. It's amazing, right? Well, every time I talk to kids. whether it be in high school or middle school, and I get a chance to talk to them. I tell them, listen, guys, it's not where you start, it's where you finish. You always have an opportunity to do the things that you need to do to advance yourself, to have a better life, to have a better future. And even though you might have been lazy in school or you were too busy playing basketball and you weren't paying attention to your studies, There's always time to turn things around. I did it. It took me a while. But now I've become probably the hardest working person in politics next to President Trump. I work really hard. And I'll tell you why I work hard, Sid, because every morning, like you said, I not only get up and pinch myself, but I get up with a responsibility. for this state, for the county that I live in, for the people who are supporting me, for the people who have vouched for me, for people like you who've stood up for me. Every day I have that weight on my shoulders and I say, I have to do a really good job because people are depending on me. Members of Congress who are running for election are depending on me. State senators, state assembly members, local government officials, the public. Every day, I wake up with that burden. But you know what? I just pray to God that God gives me the strength. And if God gives me the strength... I'll do what I have to do. And wherever the chips may fall, that's within God's purview. And I will accept whatever happens. But my job is to give 100% every single day, every minute of every hour. Now, you're an amazing guy, Bruce. You're really an amazing guy. I love you.
