269 segmentsOkay. I mean, I wasn't planning on starting there, but Chad Hartman, Dave Ergen. Dean Phillips is with us. He joins us throughout the year. We are, how many days away, Dave, from the state fair? It's two weeks from Thursday, so what are we? 17, 18 days? This is my count right there. 17. Okay. Last time we chatted with Dean, he said, I'll be at the fair. And I'm either bringing Woody Harrelson or Larry David. I wasn't going to start there. Do I have anything to do with the Open? In all sincere. You have zero to do with the Open. I have no control. As it should be. Right. I cannot suggest. But yes, the latest bit with Obama and Larry and how the tan suit came together is absolutely brilliant. It's so good. It's worth checking on. Dave, are you waiting with baited breath and why is your breath baited? Oh, it's very baited. I don't know how it gets baited, but believe me, a lot of bait. This is like I've got envelope number one here, Larry David, envelope number two here, Woody Harrelson, Dean Phillips, former congressman, friend of the show, fair, regular. Who are you bringing to the state fair? We will move. Every other guest for either one. We'll cancel the parade. We'll cancel the board. You know, I have good news. Yes. I was able to attract George Santos. No. No. Well, I mean, if he'll actually answer the questions, can we have him the next day? That isn't quite Larry. Or Woody. I got to be honest. No, but George makes himself available to anybody who will pay. It's just kind of like a cameo situation where we have to pay, George, like a dollar. The good news is we can bet on it on Kaltje or something. But let's not tell anybody, okay? No, no, there's no insider information shared on Kalki or Bali market right now. Never, never. Approximately, how many conversations have you had with Larry and Woody about potentially joining us at the State Fair? Dave, why don't you go? Before Dean answers, I'm going to go. 12. I'm going to say 12 conversations. Between the two of them? Between the two. Okay. Added together. I was going to say it was in the dozens. In the dozen. Yeah. So we're talking 24 or more. Okay. Who's more accurate, Dean? Um, wait, who's, I didn't hear, so who's 24? I didn't hear the over under here. Dave said 24. I said 12. A number of conversations you've had with Larry and or Woody about joining us at the fair.
I'll tell you, with Larry, I did have about a 24-second conversation, and that was not, that didn't go too far. Didn't go real far. Now, Woody is going to come to the Minnesota State Fair at some point. He's committed to that. So it's not going to be this year. He's winning an award, actually, from a European film festival or something that precludes him from coming this year. But he is going to come to the fair. Now that I'm a retired politician, I can make promises that I can't keep. It feels good, doesn't it? Yeah, it feels great. And by the way, I got to get it. You know, it does feel a little bit refreshing watching some of these. primary battles and the toxicity and the nonsense and the vitriol. And yeah, it does feel sadly good to be on the sidelines, but that's unfortunately. That's the big problem facing our country right now. Who wants to sign up and stand up and raise their hand to run for office when you see what you become subject to, you and your family? That's a big problem right now. So let's talk primary day. You have come out very early. in your support of Andrew Craig in her race against Peggy Flanagan. Peggy Flanagan is not classified as DSA, but clearly, if you're paying attention on key issues, Peggy Flanagan is left of Angie Craig. You know this as well as I. We've talked about it many times. The energy continues to show itself in your party, left to center. Do you believe your candidate, Angie Craig, is going to win tomorrow? I do think so. It's going to be a nail-biter. It's going to be a darn close race no matter what. But I think it's worth noting. There is a lot of energy on the left. And as we saw in Michigan last week, as we're seeing across the country. But, you know, it's interesting, Chad, because what's little reported are the times when the center, the moderates, if you will, hold the line. Representative Ed Case in Hawaii just yesterday held the line on a Uber left candidate. He's probably one of the most moderate, fiscally conservative Democrats in the entire U.S. House. And I wouldn't call it yet a massive national trend. And it really hinges on the obvious, which is people of reason, common sense, independence, not just voting on general election day, but getting out tomorrow, if you haven't already. Get out tomorrow and vote. I won't tell you who to vote for. Well, of course, I'll tell you to vote for Angie Craig in this case. But generally speaking, it's not about who you vote for. It's participating because when so few people in our country choose the primary candidates, we're left shaking our heads when it comes to general election time. It's going to be really close.
The gubernatorial primary, I think, doesn't really matter because Amy Klobuchar probably will win by 15 or so, if not more. But in the case of Angie Craig, Peggy Flanagan, you know, that Senate race is consequential. Because as we know, Michelle Tofoya will be a formidable candidate. I do think she will win Handley tomorrow. And I'm one of many who see a path for her to become the next Minnesota senator if she's taking on Peggy Flanagan. Angie Craig, I think will win Handley. And I think anybody listening... who wants to see a person of reason with experience, currently the ranking member of the Ag Committee in the House, and an outstanding human being, would like to see Angie Craig keep that seat, keep it in Democratic hands. But most importantly, represent all of Minnesota. I'm just afraid Peggy Flanagan is going to choose to represent only those Minnesotans with whom she affiliates. And I'm tired, frankly, on both sides of the aisle of people doing that. This is a former third district congressman, former presidential candidate, and show regular Dean Phillips. He is with us right now. We're going to keep Dean for a couple of segments. We're going to give your chance to react to what the two of us are talking about right now. Let's say Peggy Flanagan wins. I agree with 100%. Michelle is going to win. Michelle has certainly moved to the right. The last few years on her social platforms, she's moved to the right within this primary. But as someone who's known her for 30 years, I still believe Michelle is more of a center right person than she is a further right. But what she said on issues, Matt, absolutely. As someone like yourself who believes the center needs to be more represented, if it's Michelle Tofoya versus Peggy Flanagan, are you 100% voting for Peggy Flanagan? Boy, you know, Chad, I've not even considered that hypothetical. It's not that unrealistic, though, right? But I'll tell you what, here's what, here's what I vote. Here's what I will be voting for in November, no matter what. I will mostly be voting Democratic. I have most of my life. That doesn't mean all the time. But I've not seen a Republican candidate in Minnesota or around the country running for office. that has publicly stated that they are willing to take on Donald Trump when necessary. And it's that lack of strength and fortitude amongst Republican candidates that deeply disappoints me. The only ones that seem to be willing to do so are ones who have lost their primaries and are not coming back to Washington. So I will be voting for either of the Democratic candidates in this case because I've not seen Michelle Tofoya make that case that she... Uh-oh. Well, we've got to pause anyway. Okay, so let's pause. We'll also add that Rochelle Olson...
who's joined as many times before, just put out a tweet saying the modern day high for a non-presidential primary was in 2018, according to Secretary of State Steve Simon, and that was between 22 and 23%. So that's a low number, but as much attention as this race has received, it wouldn't surprise me if we eclipse that number. Let's talk to Dean right away when we come back on CCO. A little Jimmy coming back, Dean, Dave Harrigan. Game with chatting with Dean Phillips. Dave Harrigan every day comes up with a bumper music theme. Could this be Jimmy's birthday? No. Okay. It is a birthday. It is. But it's not Jimmy's birthday. Okay. Who's birthday? It was on this date in, I believe, 1909. The guitar creator? Leo Fender. Oh. There we go. So we've got folks who made their bones playing those Fender Stratocasters, telecasters, whatever version they wanted. Nice. By the way, guys, I went to the Jimmy Hendrix apartment in London this summer. Oh. And next time to all the lists, anybody who might be in London. Check it out. It is a very cool. It's the same house that was inhabited by the composer Handel 200 years before Jimmy Hendricks. And it is, and they have done it exactly as Jimmy had it. It's really, and it's a museum where you can walk right into his bedroom and there's no velvet ropes. It's really cool. We're headed to Iran here. Not literally the show. That's not a going to the lake. I don't know a lake in Iran. That's not it. But how are we feeling about Iran now? Their secretary of Iran's Supreme NAF security council said this is what we need to do to get an agreement with Iran. Permanently end the war. Lift the naval blockade. Withdraw our forces and all sanctions, free Iran's frozen assets, pay war reparations and threats and insults, stop military action against Iran's militia allies around the region before Iran would open the straight. Dean, that sounds to me like a country which thinks it's winning the war or can outlast us. And they are, and they will. And the irony is that the least likely one of their demands to be met is the cessation of insults from the American president, as we all know. We've talked about this time and time again, Chad. Pete Hegseth, I think, has misled the president. He's a disaster for the United States of America and embarrassment to Minnesota. The president with no experience before he assumed the United States presidency. is acting like a New York mobster without voices of reason, without anyone in his orbit willing to push back, even his vice president. We had no plan, and the fact that we went into this conflict without any plan for the Strait of Hormuz is as shocking and frankly disqualifying for a Secretary of Defense as anything I've ever known.
It's embarrassing and sad and pathetic, and I don't even know another adjective I can use about this circumstance we find ourselves in. It is a colossal failure that the president was so dazzled by B.Benjamin Netanyahu was so convinced because of killing Soleimani and the other strike that his enablers told him, oh, sir. four, five weeks, boom, we'll be in, we'll be out, we'll set their nuclear program back, we'll get better leadership, and we'll be set. And oh, by the way, don't worry about the straight. I would, I wonder how many conversations they even had about it. Because let's not forget the amount of times that Donald Trump, the commander chief, the president, my president, your president, all of our president has told us two things. One, either the straight is actually open now, which is not, or it's about to open when they're showing no signs of opening up. And again, this regime does not care if we start with our strikes, if we have enough military ammunition left. But if we start with strikes again and kill citizens, which I hope we're trying not to do, they don't care. They just care about surviving themselves. They don't care about their own citizens. They don't. And, Chad, you know, you mentioned killing of civilians. If this president was a moral and ethical president, and we were going to attack Iran, we should have done it a year ago when Iran killed about 30 to 40,000 of its own citizens for the audacity of simply protesting their government. That is one of the great failures of this as well. That may have actually captured the hearts and minds of everyday Iranians. to assist in the replacement of this government. Short of that, Chad, and we've talked about it on your show before, the only way to achieve that end is the use of ground forces, American ground forces in Iran. And I don't think any of us have an appetite for that. The president surely doesn't. And there's a midterm election coming up, which the politics don't align well. But that is the truth. There is no way to bomb Iran into submission. The only way to do it. is with ground troops, and that is another quagmire that America simply cannot find itself mired down in again. The president about an hour ago on truth social said he now is also asking for reparations, for compensation, for Moran, for all the individuals who passed away. So, yep, we're making absolutely positively zero progress. I want to finish with this because, listen, on this show, When I asked you, geez, about four years ago around this time, should Joe Biden run for your election? That's when you said it's not against the man, but it's against the new generation. And no, he should not run. You were so inspired by that. You ran for president. I think you were incredibly mistreated by the party, including, by the way, by a lot of prominent folks in this state. You went out of your way.
to congenially say that you found Joe Biden as a decent person and commended him for his service but felt like this needed to be done. The news broke over the weekend. Hunter Biden, who now is everywhere, which is bithead scratching to me, but I'll put that aside. Where Hunter Biden is telling us the sad news that President Biden's... cancer as metastasize it's in his bones it's further and it is debilitating and I saw this on Twitter and I saw a lot of people reacting and how can I describe it in just a ghoulish way The man is battling cancer that has metastasized. I'm not expecting individuals who didn't agree with them politically their entire life or during the presidency say, you know what, now he's a great president. I've agreed with them. You're still allowed to have differences. But if this is your time to celebrate his frailty. What has happened to cancer, what affects cancer, there's somebody close to me, very close to me, just found out this individual has cancer, and it's so sad, okay? And so I called out Joe Biden on this show hundreds of times. I went further than you saying not capable, but I will not sell it. The president tweeting out a picture of Joe Biden struggling playing golf, come on, just a morsel of decency is not that difficult. No, and I just, I'm at a loss for words, Chad, because if President Trump announced tomorrow that he was facing an illness that the determinable, I surely wouldn't celebrate it or tweet, you know, tweet words of joy. It's so, it's so shockingly antithetical to how certainly we in Minnesota are raised. And I don't get it. I wish I understood. the depth of so many people's anger right now. But I do believe that politicians should be listening to that because I think it's a symptom more than the disease. And the disease is income inequity and wealth inequity in a sense that no matter how hard people work, they can't achieve the American dream anymore. And it makes them angry. And they treat people disrespectfully. And of course, we have a president who has a field day. embarrassing, humiliating, and calling people names. And I don't think we should normalize that. And I know that the Republicans and Democrats in my world find it as abominable as anybody. So may the braver angels amongst us. rise. And I think it's also time for all of us, Chad, that at a platform, whether we have platform or not, to condemn those who treat anybody like that, period, period, paragraph. Absolutely. Thank you. I hope we see it the fair, no matter who you bring, if it works out fabulous, if not, understand. And as always, thanks so much for coming on. I will. Talk to you soon, Chad. Dean Phillips, I want all of you to join this conversation. All of you, be a lot. But any of you that want to text us,
that want to call in on two points. How is it going with Iran? I mean, convince me this wasn't a mistake. And again, I say this all the time. It's incredibly daunting challenge when you're the President of the United States for thousands of reasons, including Iran. their own actions, their allies' actions to kill people for cruelty, to kill people from the West, to kill Americans, and the nuclear capability question is incredibly difficult. But Benjamin Netanyahu's been saying the same thing for 30 years, and we went in it way too carelessly, and now when Iran can offer this up, again, this is what Iran wants right now. and the war, lift the blockade, forces gone, sanctions out of here, free frozen assets that is a significant amount of money, pay war reparations and threats and insults. Well, that's not possible, by the way. All these are more possible in the president and threats and insults. Stop military action as militia allies around the region before Iran would open the street. How could we bleep it up this bad? Maybe that's my question. How could we bleep it up this bet? If you feel like, and I'm sure there were others who not only are not supports the president of fellow man, Iran is so close, you've got to do something. But the straight for those folks who live this every day saying if you're going to attack Iran, here are the implications. That had to be an enormous part of it. So it was an enormous part of it. They weren't ready for it. And we've used so many munitions. That's been reported everywhere. We're in a horrible position. And Dave, last time I'm checking. We're the United States of America. That's true. And is he going to start striking again? Seems to be the only answer we have, and it doesn't solve anything. That's a thing because. As we've been saying forever, that leadership, and you can say, well, they're fearful they'll be killed like the others. Well, the new Supreme Leader, the kid, we haven't seen him at all. He's in incredible hiding. And they just think, well, they're not going to get to us. And if it turns out... A school, could we at least just account, by the way, that we killed those individuals of school? Not intentionally. We're done talking about that. We stopped looking into that long ago. We went from we're studying it to that's in the past. And again, I don't believe for one second we did that intentionally. But can we just admit our mistake? No, he'll never admit that. And to be fair, first, we did blame Iran for bombing their own school. That's correct. That is correct. So that's point one. And I want some passion on these texting calls. Point to what the hell is wrong with you? If, and again, I called out the governor of this state when it was, what this time? Last year, wasn't it? When the governor, I think, was in Rochester and the president wasn't on social media for a few days? And there was speculation. Could something really bad have happened? And people are like, oh, gee, or what did Wall say? Oh, waiting for some news, maybe. People are chuckling about it. If any way you took joy.
When Donald Trump faced multiple assassination attempts, disgusting. If you're wishing the death of Donald Trump, disgusting. I'm not a supporter of that guy in any way. I got about 330 million people. I'd rather see his president in this country. Probably toddlers. I mean, honestly. But I don't wish him any physical harm. I don't. And I don't want him anywhere near the White House. And if you, and by the way, Don't tell me like we went soft. This show crushed Joe Biden year after year. But if this is your mode to say, good, I'm glad he led the country in the wrong direction. Separate. He led the country in the wrong direction, including the border, was complete fiasco. But you then think because of that, Dave, you should celebrate? The news that is cancer as metastasized and his bones and even worse? What the hell is wrong with you if you're doing that? It's gross behavior from both sides. From those celebrating the Biden news to I saw it on social media this week at photos of Trump and his latest golf outing and making fun of how he looks. This is morbidly obese any day now, blah, blah, blah. 36 past 12. Serious topics early. We got plenty more lighter stuff. coming up, including overrated at the start of the next hour. 651-461-9226. Next time you take a few minutes at home, take a look at your insurance, whether you're in a condo, a house, maybe it's your cabin, maybe you're at work, you're listening, you're just parked, you're like, wait a second. Let me look at the car insurance I have, motorcycle, a boat, a jet ski, maybe you have some other real estate. Take a look at your insurance and then remember this. Team shoal.com. That is my friend and my agent, Amber Scholl, it's Scholl and Associates based right here in town. But they're not just on their own. I don't want something that's just local without the national gravity and gravitas, and they have it with American family. So it's the best of both worlds. the depth of experience, the power negotiating that American family brings you, and then the great knowledge of Scholl and Associates and the close knowledge of your account if you work with them. It's worth the least going online, Teamshould.com, and see what response you'll get because we've already had 100 switch from our station. Do it today. Somebody mentions, well, a lot of people saying run, Dean, run. We know that. Somebody's suggesting Lugar Phillips, 28. That'd be a pretty good ticket. I try to see if he would do anything again politically like every time he's in here. He's changed nothing. Lugar is not. Now, life's too good. We need a text her. We need Angie Craig to be the nominee. She knows Washington for good or worse. She has strong voice and strong will. Peggy Flanagan will not be the respective voice and power of Angie Craig. Oh, please, Defoyas is right as any of those other lunatics. There are times when Michelle put stuff out that I agree, but I know her. And again, what you put out matters a lot.
But the person I know still is center-right. Now, am I convinced she's going to be a center-right person if she wins? I'm not. But is she, Mike Lindell? Get out of here. Please. There's a difference there. Why do you give a to FOIA free pass and a lack of experience? When did they ever say give her a free pass and lack of experience? Never did. Haven't heard it. I've never once said that. Chad, you said, you know, is voting primaries? Please vote in this primary. It's important. I'm going to vote. I decided there are a couple centrist candidates I'm going to vote for. Do you know which side you're going to vote for? Tell me a Republican who is centrist that I can vote for. Well, you just said Michelle is center, right? That's fair. Thank you. She has to show me more actions the next couple months after she's the nominee to show me that she's going to do what a lot of people have done and move more center-right before she would get my vote. That's kind of the question for everyone who's moderate centrist right now, right? If they even win the primary, what's it look like a month later? Yep. More text. We know if Biden dies, Trump will celebrate. He will. He will absolutely. We'll have a debate on whether we will do what we normally do if a former president dies. In the end, I think he'll do everything, but he'll still offer up cheap shot. Oh, Autopin will be. at the tip of his lips every time. And Trump will not be invited. We will have a former president who dies, and the present occupant of the White House will not be invited. Think about that. And considering the harshness, he shouldn't be. Let's go to Bill, who's called in. Bill, thanks for listening. You're on CCO. Yes, so you said... Are you there? Hello? Yeah, I'm here. Just listen. Okay. You said that you'd rather see anyone of 330 million people as a candidate instead of the current guy. I don't think that's really an all-inclusive list. I mean, you should probably include, like, say, 500 million cattle and 500 million pigs or maybe a couple million, maybe three, four million of chickens. Just choking. I'm just joking. Doesn't sound like you're a big fan of the guy at 1600 Pennsylvania. You know, he could maybe kind of improve on a few things, but I guess, you know, it's a tough job. How about the hair? Do you like the new hair? Yeah, you know, my hair is saying, so I've got to look into that. Yeah, I mean, listen, his hair looks better now. Thank you, Bill. I appreciate that. As a lifelong Republican, my prayers go out to the Biden family. The U.S. should tell Iran open the straight, and we will leave this war because of Trump's ego. Chad, it seems pretty simple to me, a classless and up president. putting a bunch of classless enough people to make decisions. That's the reason why we're losing a war to a tiny country. It's our poor leadership. Dean was all in on this war at the beginning until it went south. Dean wasn't all in. It wasn't like go Trump. But at the start, did he say what a lot of other moderate said, this makes...
I don't know if you use the word sense, but you can understand the argument. Silly to those folks who thought, okay, maybe some of the people thought their way through the straight-of-a-moos question, and the evidence is overwhelming. There's literally nothing to say that they had a plan for it, Dave. Zero. They had no plan. They thought they would win so easily. They thought they would all of a sudden be dealing with, you know, borderline democracy, the people would be waving flags, and oil would drop, and we'd be getting money for Moran. How's that worked out? I think it's okay to say if the intentions were to knock out their nuclear capabilities, make the Middle East a little bit safer. But you could be in support of that when it started and look at it five, six months later and say, Wow, this has been completely bleeped up from the start. The execution, the original genesis, the idea, fine, but the execution has been a complete failure. You have not been able to accomplish the tasks that were set forth. That's from leadership. That isn't our troops. Let's be clear. We're not criticizing the troops. We're criticizing the plan. The lack of. Lack of forethought. execution, follow-up, because it is a quagmire right now. Back to text and calls in just a little bit. But water. I mean, this weather, I mean, there's some humidity out there. It's not as bad as some of the stretch we had, but... Water, water, water, water. You still have to be so important in what water you're drinking, the quality of the water, how much water you're drinking, and then the power of having a company like Aquarius Home Services helping you out at your house, at your condo, wherever they can help you up. Aquarius Home Services around since 1987. Yes, today, as I say often, I did bring water in from my place, from that... Connecticut drinking water where if you work with them, they'll come out and test your water. Almost all the contaminants will be taken out. How about that water softer? I ran some dishes today, took the shower today, did a little laundry last night, all of that better because of the water softer. Air condition, you needed to work, and let me repeat on repairs. Any of those things you have at your house, and they're not working up to speed right now, go to Aquariushomeservices.com, and the first time they come out, $98 off your product. They're great to deal with. Aquarius, track them down today. Your Lindis construction time check. 1253. Time replace your cracked, faded, or damaged siding. With an option designed for lasting beauty and protection, it sounds like Dave's face. I'm sure what that means, but thank you. Lindis Construction offers steel, vinyl, LP, smart, side, siding. Get it done today. Chad, the biggest problem in the country reading your text here is people's inability to put themselves in other individual's shoes.
I don't want particular people to have specific jobs in our government, but each person needs to be viewed as a human with a family and which for anyone's death is disgusting. Why do you continually pronounce judgment on the Iran conflict while it's still ongoing? We don't know yet how we'll end. First of all, it's a war. It's not a conflict. Are we supposed to just not talk about it? Just wait till it's over. Wait. So that's what we do on a talk show where we cover daily events, some complete utter nonsense silliness, and also worldwide events that are enormous, including and most importantly involving our country. But we shouldn't comment on this. I bet that Stex would say when initially we were having a lot of success or perceived to be having a lot of success, it was okay then. I haven't said it's done, but. Iran is acting now like this can go on forever. I don't know, like maybe a war they had with Iraq that went on for a decade. I remember that one. I also remember about a month in when the president did say we won. Over and over again, he said. Victory was claimed. He said it's over. It doesn't seem like victory has been claimed, actually. Flanagan hasn't addressed the fraud, and that's what bothers me. She likes to say that she's a lieutenant governor, can't explain it, which leads me to wonder, what does a lieutenant governor do? That's it. Her calling card in this race is obviously that she's a lieutenant governor. And then, first of all, I've said this way before Peggy Flanagan, we don't need a lieutenant governor. Let's come up some other apparatus where, sadly, tragically, and awfully, a governor would pass away. There's some other way. But what does a lieutenant governor actually do? And then, because rightfully so, the biggest criticism towards Tim Walz is the amount of fraud, and she words Sal is with the best. And then you say, okay, what specifically did you do? I don't hear an answer. Do you? He showed up for a lot of stuff. And the fact that she and the governor aren't even talking to each other for years. So no part of the fraud, no professional relationship with the guy. This is a calling card? More texts. I most certainly will have absolutely zero sympathy of Trump. If he's ever diagnosed his fear of health condition, he's a horrible person. That's done. Irreversible harm in the country and citizens, worst president ever, still waiting for Republicans to call him off for his toxic rhetoric. Listen, I made it very clear. I don't think he has any character at all. Can we go to 50 here? Yeah. Okay. But I'm not going to take joy if he has a terminal diagnosis or if he's shot or he dies. I'm not going to. Yeah, there's somewhere in between shedding tears for days and celebrating. Yes. And I won't be saying, oh, my God, we lost the greatest president ever. But joyous over an individual's death, nope, that's not either one of us.
It's time for overrated, underrated, or properly rated with the chat. Hartman Show live here on CCO. Call her text 651-461-9226. Come on, join the fun. Susie's going to lead, but I'm giving one related to Susie. Your use of your office overrated. I never see you in your office. Yes, I was so excited about it in the beginning, and I've just sort of fallen away. The light's always on, though. The light is always on. There's a few things in there. There's livia products. Livia products, livia snacks. Yeah. Yeah, shares. Think about the buzz in the building when you said, this is mine. And for the first week or two. You would go in there. I would visit. And then you mainly would talk to me and like two or three times I had to shut the door. You did because I got too chatty. I'm prepping. I'm working. I'm getting this. I'm wheeling, dealing, getting things done. You'd be like blah, blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah. Go away. And then in all sincere, when is the last time you walk back into your office? I think I actually popped in there today. I was looking for something. Really? Didn't stay long. Didn't sit. Yeah. Didn't turn the fan on. Just sort of glance. Do I have any? What ended up? Then I left. Yeah. You see, that, that was nothing, what I just said. Very little. What do you have that's overrated, underrated, properly rated? 6-5-1-461-9-2-2-6. A lot of texts. Oh, good. In the first hour on our opening topics. So I'd like some texts here on this topic. Okay. What do you have? 651-461-9-226. I'm going to say, I like the shirt. Dave, yes or no, do you like it? It does have a bit of a puffy quality in the arms that does make me think a little Seinfeld like. Yeah, puffy shirt. Yeah. I like it. Thank you. I purchased it at Nordstrom. It's a good color for you. Thank you. I like kind of the pastelish yellow. Okay. It looks good. Matches the hair. It does sort of, sort of golden. And you were telling us earlier, you're not high on the shirt. Only because it has elastic on the arms to make the puffiness. I'm very sensitive to different feelings, like touch, like food I don't like. I am too. different food, if it's a different texture, clothes. My kids are like that. I used to spend hours trying to get my daughter Josephine's socks on right when she was like four. Oh, yeah. I had to get the seam right. Oh, it was terrible. That's tough to get the socks on another person precisely how they want. Yes. Because they're kind of fighting you. Then the toes. Oh, and the tightness of the tennis shoes. Speaking of toes, the country is wondering.
They were all in Lather last week. They're very concerned. Boot boy here. Only guy I've ever met is broken a toe who came in wearing a boot. Oh, we talked about that last week. How is that injury? Are you going to make it? Looks like we made it. It's been a struggle. It's been a real struggle. You are such a woman. No, I am an incredible healer. The toe's doing very well. I'm incredible. I heal very well. Yes. I don't know about you. Phenomenal healer. Congratulations. No one heals better than me. Oh, my God. I know a lot about healing. Nobody knows more about healing than Dave. You know, a lot of people don't know healing has an L. There's an L, H-E-A-L, healing. Healing. Healing. So good. All right, Susan Kay, what do you have? Oh, you know, I have three, and I will tell you that they are all. It's hard to figure out how to rate things. You know me. I always struggle with this game. I know. I'll start with. Good friends are underrated. Good friends. This weekend was the A Breath of Hope, lung cancer walk. And I had a crew of about 11, kind of a rag tag. I had my... crew of my girlfriends and then I had my sister and her daughter so my niece and three of her kids so we had 11 people and ben and josie wow big group yeah it was fun and it was just so joyful I don't know if you saw or not I was featured on WCCO no I was featured on KSDP channel 5 I did one of them one of one of those TV things yeah who were you with as my son interviewed me. Yeah. Little Harper or Hansen or Harrison. Obviously, he made a big impact on you because you don't know what TV station was and you don't know his name. Well, I did recognize him though as being as my son. Yeah. Anyway, I watched. I appreciate that as opposed to maybe just being on his own. This is true. You wouldn't know anything about that? Yeah. I never heard that. So anyway, it was very nice. It was delightful. Mentioned it this morning. We watched the video so I could see what I actually, what they used. Were you wearing the puffy shirt? I know I was wearing a lung cancer shirt, and I got to wear the survivor badge because she was coming up. Fantastic, yes. So we decided we're going to go all in next year. We're going to make shirts. We're going to make it a station event. We're going to get everybody in their dog to walk around Lake Harriet next year. Let's go. Okay. Also, my next item, I'm going to say underrated or properly rated. Sue Zellickson. She passed away. And we talked about her on Friday. I know you did. Yep, but you have not had a chance. I haven't been, I did jump in with Jason, but I just listened. You weren't here on Friday. How did you? Oh, did they call you? No, I was listening to the show. Oh, and you called in. Yeah. I got it. I do that occasionally with other shows. Yeah, very interesting. At any rate, she was so near and dear to me. You know that that she cared about me and she was always worried about me. Oh, my phone's talking to me. What in the hell?
Do you hear that? I hear it, yeah. Anyway, that was totally random, this whole thing. Sure. Shut up. I didn't say anything. I said, sure. Yeah, but it had a lot in it. Sue, cared about me deeply and always worried when I was out on stories that were like murders at 6 in the morning. She would say, can't they get someone else? You're a mother, you have two little kids. Get out of the... So father should have went out there, is that we're saying? I don't know. Somebody else. Yeah. Anyway, she was very sweet. And I listened to Andrew Zimmern with chat with Adam a little bit ago. And he talked about how good she was to him. So I think, oh, I'm the only one she was good to. Apparently she was good to like a million people. Jamie Euccas. Yeah. Jamie. Oh, yeah. I know that. She made a huge impact on the people who knew her well. Yes. An incredible impact in this industry. to be a female at this male-dominated radio station outside of Joyce Lamont, right? Then to be such an advocate, you know, Sue really wasn't a food critic. She just rallied for us. She did. She was a food cheerleader. She wouldn't go and say, you know, like, you know, our great friend Dara or Jason, what's his last name? Who might poo something. Yeah, who might just be more blunt. Sue is more just rallying, rallying. And, yeah, it's a testament to the love that has been offered up by a lot of people who knew her. So, Bravo, full life, but it's still very difficult for the people cared for. It is hard to say goodbye. And you're going to have a hard time saying goodbye to me when I retire. I had a financial advisor appointment on Friday, a new guy. Yeah. And he said, what's his name? I'm not telling you. First name? Just what's his first name? I will. It's Muhammad. Yeah. Okay, well, you know, just want him to see, because it was Harrison, Henry, or... Oh, right. No, I know who it is. But he ran the numbers, and he said, you're ready right now. He said, you have enough to go. We're firing. We're firing, Mohammed, then, okay, because you're not going anywhere. He thinks he has control over my life. For a least... He thinks he has jurisdiction. He does. Five more years. You're here. I, then I'm working one day a week. No, you're on the show five days a week. I don't care what else. I'm going to work on your show. I'm going to quit news. And I'll just say I want to work part-time and be on available for Chad between noon and three. Yeah, that's fine. But I'm also going to take about 16 vacations later. No, that's not a lot. No. Wherever you're at, you have to be available. No, you could be in Budapest. Budap, I might be in Botswana. I might be in Botswana. Wherever. I'll call in. Apparently, you're rolling in the dough? Apparently, he punched the numbers in the machine and kicked out. I thought I didn't have enough money. You got that early pension here at CC. Yeah. Between 401k pension and Social Security. The numbers showed good things. Trump-esque. Trump-ask. That freaking stock market. You know what that news is for Muhammad? Underrated. Yeah. Cutting down to 16 vacations, though. You okay with that? Yeah, exactly. I think so. I think I'll be all right. Anyway, it was exciting to know that it's possible. That's great. I'm looking forward to my next chapter of my life because I am going to do things. I'm going to take classes. I'm going to learn how to sew and cook.
Get some more puppy shirts. Wow, I can't. I might make myself a puppy shirt, David. I thought you already know what to cook. I thought you're a pretty good cook. I'm not a good cook. Aren't you? I can make soup. Well, you can't really make chili. You found that out. And my kids would tell you that I can't cook. You know, I had three things I made when they were a little spaghetti, meatloaf, and maybe chicken, but even then they were terrified to eat it because it was questionable at best. Well, by the way, this makes you even more eligible. You're even, no, no, we'll cut that out of the tape. Okay. But the fact that you're rolling dough. I am going to be. Yeah, let's be honest. However, like I've said. We're talking like 10, 15 million. I'm telling you that. I'm not going to pay the person's way who I go on a date with. Oh. So they need to show up. Doesn't sound like you're rolling in the dough. No, I don't want to pay for someone else. So first date, okay, first date, you ask the person out. Yeah, then I'll pay. Okay, if you have you, you've done that before? Yeah, plenty of times. I buy just for fun. Listen, though, but if I get a nice trip, like my first trip is either going to be to Vietnam. or India or Greece. Nice. These are my big trips. Wow. I'm going to plan them. I'm going to find a place, find a tour. And I would go with someone on a trip, but I'm not paying for them. Yeah. We'll bring you the Comrex so you can check them. Pretty good. Yeah. That'll work. Just block out three hours of the day at whatever time of day it is. Exactly. I mean, it might be the middle of the night, but that's not our concern. What else do you have for overrated, underrated, properly rated with the wealthy Susan Jay Jones here on CCO? Among the texts, I missed the conversation. Susie quitting. No, Susie's not quitting. She's not allowed to quit until Dave and I say. That's what we determine. Oh, my goodness. If I wasn't already buried, Susie sounds like a hell of a cat. She is a hell of a cat. She's a babe. She's smart. She's funny. And now we found out she's rich. I had an old boyfriend text me after I was on Channel 5 and he said, you are smoking hot for being 60. You're a good looking babe. There's no doubt about it. That was nice. 60. Forget that. 60. No matter what age. Susie, retire when you can. Now when you have to wisdom from a financial advisor. Hey. Mind your own business. She's not. And YOLB, I'm not going anywhere. Properly rated. The class showed by a bow hostler after the Wyndham tournament when he came in second, moving from 122 to 72 in the rankings and Mason the qualifying by two places. Because that all of a sudden gets him in for the playoffs and he handled himself extraordinarily well. Saw Susie and KSTP last night. She looked great. As my son is Harrison. Properly rated, Harrigan is a great heel. Well, I think they misuse that. You know, you're a heel. You're dope. No, heel like a bad guy. I was like a wrestling heel, right? Is Susie wearing a puffy shirt? She might be a pirate.
We'll get to that in a little bit. Yeah, she just went at you. That's been really nice. I'm sorry. Go ahead there, heel. We were talking burgers and grilling off air. Yeah, we were. I had this on my list. You know, fried fish is fine, but grilled fish is dynamite. Immensely better. Grilled fish. I've done it twice in the last week. Grilled fish sandwiches, cage and seasoning. You got it right on the grill or do you got a little? Right on the grill. You don't marinate it ahead of time. No, no marinade, just heavy on the Cajun seasoning, make a little Cajun. You're begging the Cajun season. Kind of, you know, mayo-y. Did you move to the Ramos. Okay. Oh, I would. For the food, I would be there in a heartbeat. Overrated. Oh, no. The food's great. The food, I'm not done playing the food, but the rest of the place. Of the cities I've been to, my favorite food city, the rest of Bourbon Street is disgusting. That's what I'm saying. Absolutely disgusting. Yes. But grilled fish. Come on, people. Enough with the shore lunch. Let's grill it up. Whoa. A little seasoning on that thing. I was gone Friday because I was at the Mayo Clinic with my wife. We don't recognize it enough. How lucky we are to have that place in our back. They've got construction everywhere. It's crazy business right now as they expand the place. But just being on the streets, watching the army of people go in there every single day to do the work they do to walk around in the subway level that we were. The efficiency. Yeah, the efficiency to see just people in their patience. And you can tell they're from just all different areas of the country. Or different countries. Yeah, different parts of the world. For sure. It's just an amazing resource we have here. Couldn't agree more. And I haven't been there in a long time and it's ridiculous. Please just get it on the in-network side of my wife's insurance. That would be more helpful. That would be helpful, yeah. That would be okay. Last thing for me, I'm not going to advocate teaching your children how to swear, but teaching them the proper way to swear. I think is underrated. Did you have to correct a child that used a word in the wrong way? No, no, no, no. I did not correct them this time. This time it was me using the word, but I felt justified. Which word? That would be the F word. Okay. That would be the F word. In front of the children. Oh, in front of the world. We were on a bike ride. on Saturday. More toe trauma? And we were waiting at the corner in our, kind of in our neighborhood a little mile away or so. And there's a spot we've had this problem before. It's like a three-way stop. There's lights. So we're waiting for the signal. And you can just tell the guy that's waiting to turn right, which would be a right turn right in front of us. He wants to go. Yeah. He's inching. He's trying to look. Right. And the light goes green. We get the little cross sign. And my six-year-old, she's led the whole bike ride. She's so proud of herself on her own bike. She's led the way. And we have to put my hand on her because we can see. And immediately the light turns green and we get our crosswalk sign. Yeah. Ooh. Jackass. Just and I let out the biggest bleep you.
I approve. 100%. Like the kids say. Were they a little shocked? They've heard their mother use it more than me. Okay. That's such a bad move. I don't know how proud I am, but you know what? I am. Yet the fella earned it. That's the second time in a week. Somebody has pulled that move on it, so that's the exact same spot. And having to teach them how to be a good bike rider, how to pay attention because drivers are bleep. Well, we just were having that conversation last week with Jason on right turn on red. Yes. Right. And where we would block it, where it would be allowed. Some people literally should lose their driving privileges forever. There is a family right in front of you. No way he didn't say. If there's such an emergency happening, you would go. You would go. You'd wave. You'd be honking. Hey, my wife's pregnant. We're delivering. I got to go to the hospital. Something's happened to me. You can't wait the seven seconds for you guys to cross the street. Jerk-like behavior. I'll chime in. Soccer celebration I saw over the weekend topped a team in Brazil. This guy scores. He's celebrating. He jumps over this fence to continue the celebration. He doesn't realize there's a giant hole in the ground where stairs are going down to something. And he vanishes into the hole. And then to add to it, they ended up waving the goal off. No. Oh, my gosh. VAR? Do we get the rectangle thing? I don't know, but it was so good. Oh, my God. So because he did that? No, no, no, no. That had nothing to do with it. Offside, something happened. That's funny. Sad news for a couple of these. Okay. I work with Tommy John when he was a telecaster for the twins for a couple years. This is after Ted and Kittycott had had a great run, and so then they were trying a few of us out. In the end, the one guy, the guy that hired me gave me 50 more games. So I was going to do 50 games. I think it was a 95 season. Then he left. Well, it's the great John Colleton to go run KCBS. And so. This other buffoon, I'll just won't say his name right now, and said, well, you can continue to have the 50 games, but you have to quit the wolves and KFA. And I said, oh, no, thank you. Right. But when I did those two years, broadcast those two years, I worked with Tommy quite a bit, highly intelligent, curious, all sorts of information, open, just a quality person. Tommy penned a goodbye on it.
Yankees legendary old-timers day, that he's been battling a lot of issues. And so my best to Tommy's family, and only the best of Tommy during this difficult time. And what's going on with him? And is he the guy that they did the surgery? They named the surgery. Named it after him. Okay. Exactly. Hospice care now. Yeah, hospice care. He's about a lot of health issues, right? Okay. We're going to get to Duluth in a little bit here. I'm driving home from Duluth with Michelle. And I listen to a lot of the Twins game. And I'm just reminded about the brilliance of my friend Paul Molliter. Like Paul Molliter, phenomenal athlete at Creighton, so good at the U, brilliant with the Brewers. If Paul stays healthier earlier in his career. He's probably one of the 15 to 20 greatest hitters up all time. He's already one of the like 40 to 50. He goes to Toronto where he's amazing, comes here. The first year he had here, if Puck's healthy, the numbers those guys would have put together. He's so intelligent. He's such a quality person. He eventually becomes the Twins manager. And then... If you want to be harsh, he was scapegoated or you just want to say that Falvi wanted his own guy, right? And they brought in Rocco, who I thought was a fine manager. Paul could have said, bleep you to these guys. I just led you the playoffs. Look at the teams Paul had. They just didn't have players. Manager the year, the year before he was let go. Exactly. Right. What does he do? He sits out one year. Then he starts working in the minor leagues. And now he is a pleasure, whether he does the few. TV games or the radio games. It's just simple. He's their best analyst and I don't even think it's close. He's so damn good. And then today, Paul and so many friends are honoring John Anderson. He's John's funeral. Just a couple blocks from here. And Paul and John were like brothers. So close. You know, I tried to get Paul to come on very respectfully because I know close. And I didn't try him again because at one point we were talking. He's like, I'm just not prepared to talk about it yet. But this is going to be a day to honor John. And John Anderson is such an exemplary person. And I owe John before and St. Olaf at 3 o'clock will be packed. The U of M will be packed. It just made me think of just what a classy person. Paul is. So I wanted to mention that. Then the exact opposite, Katie Miller, her choice in men. News came out, Eric Swalwell, who was out now as congressman and he was going to be the governor of California because all those accusations of abusing women. Well, one of the tricks he was using to try to avoid this court case. was federal government because Katie Miller is married to Stephen Miller, who's one of the all-time weasels planet Earth to ever exist. Good word. And then it comes out that Katie Miller also was sleeping with Eric Swalwell. So sleeping with Eric Swalwell and married to Stephen Miller. Katie, you've got to be better than this. In all sincerity. Who's next? Oh, my God. Just awful. Okay, Duluth. Friday night saw this up-and-coming comedian named Jerry.
Is it Steinfeld or Seinfeld? What is it? Steenfeld. So Jerry Seinfeld. Fun. At the deck, all the setup there they have, he hasn't slipped a bit. Really? 72, whether it's the phone, whether there's AI, whether it's relationships. It's all the Seinfeld stuff. And it's the voice inflections and the mannerisms that you come to love. He was brilliant. And he's just so fun to laugh. Just so good. You know, he doesn't. What was he worth? A bill and a half from him and Larry and the money they meant. They're doing okay. He doesn't need to be in Duluth on a Friday night in the summer. And he was all into it. Then he's taking questions at the end. Oh, fun. I can't tell you the last time I saw Seinfeld stand up. And he's been here a number of times. He was just phenomenal. Estimated net worth 1.1 bill. Nice. Pretty good for that little show. I don't have that much. Yeah. Muhammad didn't say that? No, that was not my number. We went to Gooseberry Falls, the state park. And I wish the falls would have been a little bit more prominent, but they still were great, beautiful to see such a cross-section of people. Absolutely fabulous. That's part of our state. It's amazing. We went to three food places that I absolutely love up there. New Sina Cafe. It's just this symbol. New Sina Cafe is one of the 10 best restaurants in the state of Minnesota. End of conversation. And is that on old 61? It's on 61, headed North Shore. It is so foodie-futty. Andy Lugar, no foam, no drizzle. Andy would not have liked it because there's plenty of foam, there's plenty of drizzle, there's plenty of precision. It is a foodies, foodies place, and I love it. It's one of my three or four favorite restaurants in the state. It's amazing. Then, Vaugh Benny. We went to Vaubeney, a great Italian place right by Pickwick, right by Fickers. Bob Benny is phenomenal. And then the most crowded place in Duluth on a weekend is the brunch situation with Duluth grill. But we put our name on the list. We did things. Came back. The Duluth Grill lives up to it every time. And you just go up to Duluth on a weekend like that when it's in the upper 70s, low 80s. And it's so different than the cities. You know, with the power is superior and how unique it is. If you're not going to Duluth in the summer, change go up there it's so under now for people are there it's properly rated in the winter I think it's overrated myself I want no part of it when it's 20 below but 16 above I'll stand by it is the best place to be in this state and they want people up there they do been getting hit pretty hard with the stories of all the fire exactly yeah great as always thank you dear all right swift takes when we come back Larry
Fitzgerald Jr. I saw parts of other speeches. Adam Vinutary, very funny. I watch all of Larry Juniors and every single time I watch Larry Fitzgerl Jr. speak. I'm impressed. His intellect. His compassion. His meeting the moment. His accountability, his relatability. And here he is going into the Hall of Fame. And, you know, he had Kurt Warner for a few years. He had Carson Palmer for a few years. What if he gets a great for 10 years? Let's say Carson Palmer had him for a few years. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Carson was okay. He was okay. Having Larry helps. Yeah. Let's say he would have had one of the Alzheimer's for a decade. Oh, my goodness. How many receivers better than him? Very shortlist. Incredibly shortless. His name is Jerry. Yeah, I mean. One name Randy? Again, I mean, Randy's so brilliant, right? But Randy, there were times, you know, Randy had a few years when he really didn't play. You go to Oakland. He didn't do much. Yeah. You know, didn't play when he came back here. Didn't play when he was in Tennessee. Larry never took a playoff. Larry's dedication. And I thought about so many quotes, including his beautiful comments about his father. And I had some mutual friends reach out. who don't live in town anymore, but used to work with Larry. He were like, they didn't realize Larry Sr. passed away. And I can't imagine how much Larry Sr. would have loved that event. And Larry Jr.'s line was so funny and so perfect, but just having fun with the big record of the important stuff, went to me and said, what would your father have enjoyed the most? You guys the free food. And anybody's been with Larry in press boxes and had to chuckle about that. But such a great line. But then he was so beautiful and touching about his father. And knowing Larry's senior for a long time, I've only been around Larry's junior a couple times. In fact, one of the times when he sought me out is my father. I had a 90th birthday partner. There were a lot of people there. A lot of people spoke. And Larry Jr. came up to me. I forget, was it before, after he sought me out and say, how about the two of us, having the famous fathers that we have and the success we've had? And he just was so kind to me. And I'm like, me. How about you? Right. And he just, and I know so many people in the golfing community who know Larry. And I'd like to golf a little sometime. But it was a 10. It was just, it was just, it was so great. And then among the lines that stood out to me, surround yourself with the people tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Those are the people who actually love you. I'm going to say that again, because these words,
are a hundred on a scale of, I don't know, 10 maybe. Surround yourself with people who tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Those are the people who actually love you. That is so important in our lives when... It's a day-to-day situation. It's a crisis. It's someone you're really close to, someone that's more of a friend. If you only want people around you who, in some ways, just are sycophants or butt kissers, or not even as critical as that, but they're individuals that no matter. What decision you offer up or comments you offer up, it's only just affirmations. And we all need affirmations. We all need support. And there are times, Dave, when sometimes in life and these are rarities when you're not headed the right way, when you're the friend, where you almost have to say, okay, understand, understand. But more often than not, you need people close to you. We're willing to say, Dave, no. Or Dave, this is what I think you should do. Or Dave, you were wrong here. And it's not always harsh. Sometimes it is harsh. Sometimes it is one. But the message is conveyed. And to me, it feels like it's worse than it's ever been. And maybe I'm affixing too much to politics. Maybe that's my mistake here. But I feel like too many people in life on their own and offices, whatever, just want to hear, Chad, you're right. Chad, that was correct. Chad, amazing, when it needs to be, Chad, what the hell are you doing? And Larry Fitzgerald, I want people to remember this. Surround yourself with people tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. These are the people actually love you. And I'm not suggesting he's the first person to ever convey something like that. But just remind yourself with that because we all need to hear that again. Everything you said there was 100% spot on, Chad. Well done. No, it's one of the great challenges I think anybody has as far as just a... having it be a part of your personality, to not only want to be surrounded, to not only want to be told when you've screwed up, when you're wrong, but then to also be the one to do it, to have the gumption to tell somebody you love, whether it's a spouse, a great friend, a child, a parent, whoever, to... You know, like I said, have the guts to say, okay, you're going to hate me for this. You might really get offended. But here's what I'm going to tell you. And it's the truth as I see it. And you're not going to like it, but you need to hear this. Perfect example. I agree. And also, it can be where it's just a person you know they're just going to tell you that. Like you don't even have to say you're going to hate me. But I know, listen.
I know I have, like Susie was talking about a friend of girlfriends. And that's great that they support her when she looked cancer in the eye and said, bleep you and kicked its butt, which we all love. But maybe with that friendship, because there's the one person with Susie that just checks her. We all need to be checked at times. Maybe it's fairly often. So, yeah, surround yourself with people. who will provide you with the content that you need to hear, which, by the way, also includes love, also involves kindness. It's not just harshness every time, but if it's just the butt kisser every time, is that really the perspective you want? What does that say about you and the person who just says that? And sometimes it's hard to see that it does come out of love. Sometimes we hear that. criticism and we think, oh, they're coming after me. Sometimes they're saying it because they know you can do better. Yes. We need to hear that. Morris Swift takes in moments. You can react at any point. 651-461-9-226. Pella windows and doors. And people are ticked off because the budget, Australian Airlines said the new policy where they are going to charge passengers to what? Use overhead lockers for carry-on bags. Another fee. Jetstar said the decision, filed feedback from both passengers, the airline staff identified having bags. Way to the gate. and struggling to find room in the overhead lockers as the more stressful part of the airport experience. Travelers will still be permitted to bring a purse, laptop bag, small backpack on board free of charge, provided it fits under the chair. Items placed in the overhead lockers will be permitted to wait 22 pounds and will be no longer subject to staff weighing at the boarding gate.
Additionally, the 15-pound weight restriction on small items stored under passenger seat will be eliminated. Dave Harrigan, yes or no, we should start charging people for the overhead. I saw this story and I was a little confused. So if you have, say, the carry-on size suitcase, are you paying for that already and then you're also paying to store it up there? No. Because at this point, I mean, if I choose to fly Sun Country, you get a cheaper fare, you also pay, you get a purse, you get a small carry-on, but if you want that second one, you pay for. I'm not offended by this at all. The idea is if you can fit your stuff down below, fine, free, but if you're going up top. which people are doing all the time now with giant pieces of luggage. They have children jammed in there. Sometimes multiple. They have statues. They're going to charge them. Now, I'm not crying any sympathy for most airlines that are making a lot of money, i.e. Delta at MSP where they're controlling everything. But it gets annoying seeing people who... getting on the plane when they're not supposed to get in the plane, it's Section 2 everybody, and the Section 5 people are trying to get on, and then they're jamming their overhead. Elitist, Mr. Section 2, you don't like the Hoy-Peloid jumping in with you? I get on that plane last. You know that. And I don't care where I sit. I don't care if I sit. I don't want to be the last row. But I mean, people, they're like, why don't you go? I don't care. What I care about is when people are in row 30 but are used in row 15 to jam the overhead. You should be kicked off the plane if you're doing that. So charge. And now you only, I hope, only have access to the overhead above your seat. And that's it. Now, what if you only have access to that? And the person next to you. Well, in theory, the bags can only weigh 22 pounds, so we shouldn't run into a space situation. I'm sure they'll be weighing each and every one. I know that's the issue. Would you be for it? If it's a budget airline, sure. It really doesn't bother me. If Delta starts doing it, well, then we have a problem. We're going to 30. Okay. Don't you get annoyed, though, when you fly, when you see what people are doing? I get more annoyed when people take the small items, the purses or the bag they got from duty-free, and they put that up top. Oh, so they're taking the space? Yes, that annoys me more. Yeah, I guess the budget airlines, I think you make sense, right? So if it's a little bit cheaper, and now we're holding you more accountable, because the last thing we need is for Delta and American and all these places to have more money. Yeah. Again, I just want. some sort of respect to your fellow past. That would be okay. It doesn't see that daunting, but it's pretty much daunting in every way. Our guy Chip Scott, is he on vacation? He's working on a story. On assignment. On assignment. So it's the first time we chatted with our man, Collar. Matthew Collar on the purple and the links when we come back. Look who's back.
Collar is back with us. Chip on assignment. Matthew, a fixture on this show during the football season. And guess what? It is football season. He is Mr. Purple Insider. I pay for it. It's worth it. Information on the Vikings every day all year long and it's only magnified during training camp. But our friend Matthew Collar is here. He's on the John Schuster Caldwell Banker hotline. Do we now off last night's practice have a quarterback competition that's up in the air or is last night one of those moments where Kyler wasn't very good? That's clear, but he still will be the starting quarterback. Yeah, I mean, I'm still projecting Kyla Murray to be the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings. And if you look at the way that the reps were divvied up last night, 21-11, you know, 11-on-11 first team reps went to Kyla Murray and just nine to J.J. McCarthy. So the way that the first team action has gone pretty much all training camp has gone to Murray with, you know, mixing in J.J. McCarthy, but it's. pretty much like three to one through the entire training camp. So if this was suddenly going to become a real, true, like, J.J. McCarthy has taken the reins. Then over these next couple of practices, we should see that even out or even J.J. McCarthy get a lot more first team work. But I really don't think J.J. McCarthy has done anything to make an argument that it shouldn't be Kyle and Murray because I... I mean, one, I would like people to remember that these people, these quarterbacks have played real football games before. Wait, really? I know. It's crazy, right? Like, you know, people go to a practice. They see one tweet of a good throw by somebody and they decide what's going on. But we have to remember that one quarterback just two years ago ranked by Pro Football Focus and ESPN's QBR in the top 12 quarterbacks in the entire NFL. We also have to remember that the season is over a month away, and it's only been a handful of practices so far, and yet it's being sort of treated like some kind of boxing match. I really don't think that's it. I think what Kevin O'Connell has tried to do is give J.J. McCarthy a fair shot to develop him as much as he possibly can and to have the understanding that in the season, if Kyler Murray gets hurt in the third week of the year, that he's probably going to have to play J.J. McCarthy. so they're doing everything they possibly can to prepare him. But this is a multi-pro Bowl, you know, quarterback who has been good in the league before. And, you know, J.J. McCarthy. last year ranked among the worst quarterbacks in the entire NFL. And I know it's been a long time, but we do remember that, right? Like, we do remember why they went to get Kyler Murray. I think that that matters. I mean, this is, it's been more of a, I feel like a, you know, a social media event for everyone than it's been like a close quarterback competition because McCarthy, to me, has just not shown enough progress to make it that interesting. But also I will say that to this point,
I would like to see more from Kyler Murray in these coming practices. I think the early practices are very hard when you're learning this offense. They were for Kirk. They were for Sam Darnold. And last night, Brian Flores with the number one defense, brought it over and over and over again without Christian Derisov practicing. And Dallas Turner had a great night. I mean, it was a nightmare from a quarterback pressure standpoint. So. You know, I still think that it's going the way that we expect it to go. But I also think that Kevin O'Connell, if it's going to be Kyler Murray, and this isn't going to turn the other direction, I think it's got to be soon where he starts to give all the reps. over to Kyler Murray to get him prepared because I don't feel like he's been as sharp as they want him to be over the last couple practices. I get, and I agree with you to agree on, well, this is social media. You're right. And I was saying this to Chip last week. I just, it's unbelievable when we're evaluating almost past to pass as opposed to it's a week or two. And also when they actually playing games, it matters. But here's the other way it's no longer a social media event if KOC just says Kyler Murray is the start. Kevin O'Connell could have ended this and said, we're not done with J.J. McCarthy, but he could cite some of the data that you just did and say, Kyler is our starter. I'm still willing to put a lot of money on the table that Kyler is going to be the starter. So from practices, from the skirmages, which is a far cry from a game, when you're talking about Kyler getting better. Where does he need to get better? Yeah, I mean, I think that, well, one is that Kyler has still had the best practices overall. And so if we were doing this like 18 holes and we were nine through, Kyler Murray would be winning the golf match by quite a bit still. And it also would be like how the Tour Championship used to be Matthew, where Kyler would come in at five under par. JJ would start the event at even par. So he not only has to play as well, he would need to notably outplay, Kyle. Is that fair? Oh, I totally agree. I mean, to me, the way I put it is kind of like the burden of proof is on J.J. McCarthy because one of these quarterbacks, you know exactly who they are. And the other quarterback, when he did play, yes, it's a small sample, but it was... so poor that he has to prove to everybody, this is not who I am. And last night was a great example of who J.J. McCarthy still is. He had some breathtaking throws. I'm sure you saw him on social media. Line drives, hit guys on the money. But then he also had a stretch where he went three for 13, and it was flying balls over people's heads and the rhythm and it wasn't right. And so, you know, I think with Kyler Murray, what he has to learn, I believe, would be to trust where the ball is supposed to go in Kevin O'Connell's offense. What we've seen quite a bit over these last couple of practices is dropping back, maybe not necessarily seeing it right away, getting rid of the ball to check down. And that's happening. The progressing is happening a lot faster for Kyler than it is JJ because of their experience. But, you know, I'd like to see sometimes where there's a play that I know kind of what Kevin O'Connell is going for.
and the ball just doesn't get to that guy. Instead, it gets to Hawkinson, instead it gets to Jim Jordan Mason. And I think that comes along with trust and belief. And I'll tell you, Kirk talked about this a lot in the early days of him learning the offense, of, like, the timing of it and just believing in where the ball is supposed to go, because you can't just see people open and then throw it to them. You have to really trust the anticipation and the timing of the play. I also think that practicing against this defense is probably the hardest practices in the entire NFL. Truly, Flores does not take the foot off the gas at any point. So when you're out there playing, Blake Cashman was a monster last time. I mean, all the blitzes and stuff like that. It's a good defense. It's going to be a good defense in the regular season. But I think it's really comfort, and that's where I would like to see if you are going to go with Kyler. I think it's the right choice. This team is good enough to win a lot of games if it has good quarterback play. This would be the week to say, all right, we've done all the installing. With all of you guys, we feel comfortable with your samples. They've each had like 200 plays or something total, somewhere around that range. It's time to move it over to get Kyler comfortable to start in week one. I think that before you go into the first preseason game, this would be the time to do it. Our friend Matthew Collar is with this. He'll be with us many times, weekly, sometimes more than weekly during the football season. Okay, give me two other players. who have stood out to you. Might be guys, and again, you're talking about cash molest, might be guys who are established and people are going to say, okay, yeah, I know that name, but you felt like they've exceeded expectations or could be a rookie. And then two guys where you're saying, wow, I know it's early and it's very early, but I've got to see a little bit more out of these two guys. Yeah, I mean, I think that the most important player on the offense that is not Justin Dyrs on. Well, he didn't practice last night because they want to keep him off that stadium turf. He looks great. And they really needed him to look great. With that knee, he had the entire offseason to get it back to as close to 100% as he could. And when I talked to Christian out there and he had a huge smile on his face, I was like, that's... the first time I've really seen him with that demeanor in a very long time since he had that knee injury and he's played like it. And then last night when he's sitting out, Dallas Turner looked like a superstar against the backup tackle. I was like, oh, yeah, that's why I haven't noticed Dallas as much because he's going against the best left tackle or one of the best in the entire NFL. So I think Derisaw would be the first guy as far as stars go. And then kind of under the radar player would be Charles Demings, who was their fifth round draft pick. To me, he has been one of the superstars of training camp every single day, past breakups, tight coverage. And what people don't realize, I mean, yeah, he's a fifth round draft pick. He decided to stay at Stephen F. Austin out of just sheer loyalty to their program because they believed in him out of high school. He could have gone to Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, and made a bunch of money, decided not to do it. And you could see him matching up with Justin Jefferson, Jim Jordan Addison, holding his own.
as a rookie. And I think the answer on the other side of things is pretty easy. It's two of the draft picks that they've had so far that we just haven't seen a lot of. And that's Caleb Banks, who is still ramping up and Dominique Orange as well, who hasn't taken many reps with the first team. And I think we were kind of looking at those guys as, oh, they're going to be starters. If I were to... projected now, I would not say that. I think it's probably going to be Levi, Drake Rodriguez, and Ty and Grub Dawkins with the two rookies mixing in. That's just based on now. They could ramp up a ton as we go forward, but we just have not seen a lot of Caleb Banks as of yet. Let's put Mr. Caller on hold. We're going to switch to the links because they continue to play tremendous basketball, the head coach GM, as she's want to do. calls out the team after a loss on Thursday, no one guarded, nobody played anybody. Cheryl's, geez, tough. Guess what happens? They play two tough teams, and they play well, and Caleb McRide sets a WNBA record and Fee plays like Fee on Saturday. The links are all of a story. I will say that while we're chatting with Matt here, I get Purple Insider, I am watching a press conference. We've got multiple TVs going here. And among the folks talking about new recommendations on childhood vaccines, here's our trio. Donald Trump Jr., Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. and Stephen Miller, there's some other folks talking. Those three providing guidance on childhood vaccines. Good luck to all of us. Makes it feel good to be an American man. Good luck. As someone who is about to be a grandfather in a few months, I'm not going to be relying, or I, listen, first of all, it'll be up to Hunter Michaela. I can assure you Hunter Michaela are going to give him. What would Stephen Miller do in this particular case with the lovely Celia? That is not going to be a possibility. 19 past two. What is your one-word reaction when you think of Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. and Miller helping us guide us through childhood vaccines? Let's never have kids again. My one word? Osterholm. Oh, God. Yes, we'll be reaching out to Mike for tomorrow. We're getting the big executive order in the White House. The big Donald Trump. Secondature on the menu, the executive order on vaccines. Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.., Stephen Miller, among the folks speaking on childhood vaccines, good luck to all of us. Mr. Collar is here. Among the sports, he also pays very close attention to is the WMBA. And if you're in this down, the last decade plus, you should be paying attention to the WMBA. Obviously, the dynasty from before and this rebuilt club on the fly. I'm going to start with Kaylin McBride. And obviously, last night, yesterday was phenomenal where she hits 10-3s, WMBA record as 43.
But here she is at 34. She's an accomplished player. She had been to four All-Star Games before this year. I mean, one year she was 10th in MVP voting. But this always doesn't happen in sports, Matthew, where there's just like a different gear. for a player at this point in their career. She's been in the league since 2014, and when I listen to people who follow this closer than I, they say this is just the best year of her career. And oh, by the way, yesterday it wasn't just 43 points, but she's guarding this play that maybe a few people in this town have heard of named Paige Beckers. So what has impressed you most about her play this year? Everything. I mean, actually, you know what it is? It's her selflessness because I think that we know that she can shoot and she's an incredible shooter. She always has been. She's one of the greatest three-point shooters of all time. But if you watch their offense closely, she'll set screens and have big centers of power forwards smash into her and she'll guard the toughest player. And she, I think, is an unbelievable teammate. wasn't named to the All-Star game, which, you know, I think there's some context to that because half of the Lynx roster was. And it was like, well, they're not going to put in the whole starting five, even though they probably, you know, even though they probably could. But, you know, I think she'll do absolutely anything it takes to win. And when you saw Cheryl Reeves reaction, when she kind of jumped in her arms at the end of the game, she's got to be one of Cheryl's favorite players of all time because. She is the hardest working away from the basketball. She's playing 35 minutes a night, which you just don't see from, you know, players at her age, and she's willing to go out and do it and guard the toughest players. And she's getting that reward, you know, because she's playing with the best point guard in the WNBA. And I don't think it's particularly close with Olivia Miles. And the way that Miles is drawing attention from the defense with these pick and rolls. It's allowed Caleb McBride to get open threes. And also, you know, they have a lot of great plays for her where she comes off screens or handoffs and she can jump and turn in the air and knock down threes. But I don't know that she's ever had quite an environment like this where she's playing with this megastar point guard that draws so much attention and then fee is out there as well. And it's like, if you forget about Caleb McBride, she will drop 40 points on you. And this team has now. five starters, all of them can drop 30 points plus at any given night, which is really, to me, the sign of a great team. And there is another thing that I want to throw out there is when you expand the league by three teams in two years, the talent is more spread out. I think what we've seen is now the superstars are really, really popping from everyone else because it's not every night that you're playing all-star team rosters like you were probably. six out of ten nights in the W before. But now, you know, one player gets hurt on Dallas, Jess Shepard yesterday. They're playing people out there that, you know, two years ago might not have even made the floor. So I think that that's really helped the stars pop out much more. How close is Fee to playing like feet?
Yeah, that's the crazy thing, right? She's been absolutely awesome since she's come back. But I think that she said maybe 75%, I would put her closer to 100 based on my eye. But, you know, I think what we've seen from her is she's hitting a lot of threes. And she has often been get to the paint, work hard for every two points, but maybe not always pressing her shot as much as she has. And then, of course, If you give her wide open shots because of what Olivia Miles is doing, she's absolutely going to hit them. So she's not having to take too many shots off the dribble. I think defensively is probably where she'll get back a little bit more, get the win back a little bit more. But, man, to go through. She was pretty good Saturday, right? I know, right? As I'm saying, I don't want to say it's much less than 100% when she, but she is an all, truly all-world player. I mean. There's so much attention for Olivia Miles. All of it is earned. But let's not forget, Fisa Collier, just last year, was second in the MVP voting. So I think that she's getting closer and closer to the fee that we've seen. But if it was only this version, the rest of the way, yeah, that would be fine. That would be perfectly fine for them to compete for a championship. It's odd to say this, but I still think it's worth raising when you have a point. Miles is just phenomenal. I raised it a couple weeks ago. How many Minnesota rookies have made the impact that Olivia Miles has? And the obvious comparison is Moss, right? It's just a very small list when you look at the major sports teams in town, when you join a group where you knew Fee was coming back at some point, but they lost some core players. And you come in and you make this sort of impact game after game and selflessly. And there are times when you need to shoot more. And she never needs to pass more because the passing is so right. And I made the other comparison too that where Lamello Ball should watch Olivia Miles is they both offer up a lot of just like head shaking passes. But Olivia doesn't. give you the other type of lamello head shaking. And I hope some of that lamello head shaking slows down with the wolves where he'll offers like three or four pass. You're like, what are you doing? You don't see a lot of that with Miles, but what I get to my point here, how are you seeing the synergy between Miles and Collier improve from game to game? Yeah, and just to go off your point, I mean, if the Vikings hadn't been a seven-win team the year Justin Jefferson came into the league, you know, we'd probably throw him there pretty close. Sure, yeah. You know, with Olivia Miles, the thing that I am absolutely stounded by is her consistency. Now, it helps that she played five years of college. And I love this for college athletes, whether it's quarterbacks or point guards or whoever. Such a reminder. Right, that they could play five years and she played a ton of basketball. But my expectation early on in the season was like, oh, she'll probably have, you know, 25-point games and then five-point games and then sort of get, you know, a little bit acclimated and so forth. No, every single night she is playing, shooting efficiently and passing the ball, as you said, efficiently. And I feel like...
with Nefisa Collier, she stepped right in and there were no issues whatsoever with kind of switching from Natasha Howard to being Nefisa Collier who she's working that pick and roll with. But she's just a mastermind, man. I mean, somebody put a bunch of her highlights with some jazz music and you're like, this just works. It's one of those, my friend Meyer Metcalf described it as like she was the person that when she was, you know, 10 years old. got to the park at 6 o'clock in the morning and left once it got dark, you know, and never just played basketball and never did anything else because she has such a natural feel. And I actually think, because I've been wondering about this. Now, she's the number two picks. So it's not like this is an underdog story. She's been known since she was a freshman that she was going to be a top draft pick. But just the acclamation being so quick, you know, I think it's that Cheryl Reeve has been able to push her IQ to the absolute max and so of these other players. Like, they're all very, very experienced and very smart players. So you are not limited in any way for what you can draw up, what type of thing you can run, what you can ask of her. The one thing that has surprised me, though, is the blowbys, where, like, she just has this great pacing, and I think defenders get a little flat footage. She just goes by them. I mean, that didn't actually happen a ton in college, but to see it as much as she's doing it now. is so, so impressive. And I regret to inform the rest of the WNBA. Cheryl has done it again. Yeah, and the thing about it is because the money just increased dramatically. I'm not sure we're going to see more of the WMBA players coming in with five years of college. Rightfully so that it's increased, but we know why on the men's side they've come in. You know, on the women's side, now the more money's available, we probably won't see it. All right, my friend, good to catch up, and we'll look forward to a lot of conversations throughout the football season and throughout the year. Yeah, man. Thanks for having me. Matthew Collar, Purple Insider. It's an absolute must if you care about this team. It gets better and better. I mean, he's just getting better people on for the YouTube side of it, the stories, the inside. He's really, really good. Again, the president now taking questions on a variety of topics, and other people in the room. But, I mean, my word is frightening. Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. and Stephen Miller. An executive order on childhood vaccines. This trio, honestly. Funny. I'd rather have real doctors. I'd rather have scientists. Not a real estate guy. A conspiracy guy. And I don't know how to label Stephen A. Miller. Stephen A. I just gave him that. That's pretty good. I think you used the word weasel earlier. He's a weasel. That works. He's honestly. He's loathsome. It's nice, kind. You're comfortable with these three people offering an executive order on childhood vaccines when Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. just keep opening up on...
conspiracy theories. And now Trump, by the way, is just telling us the straight is open now. No ships are going through, but she's open. Open. Again, the credibility is just oozing out of this White House. What do you want to say? Are you comfortable with these three having enormous input on an executive order for childhood vaccines? Again, executive orders. Sometimes they carry some weight other times. How far do they go? The court comes in. But, yeah, I want none of the three of them. Anywhere near, any conversation on childhood vaccines. Larry Curley and Moe, we're getting a lot of that, Dave, on Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. and Miller involved in our vaccines. The executive order. promotes ideas that Trump has had for a while for years and years. Of course, no medical backing this, no science back in this. Separating the measles, mumps, and a rebella vaccine into three different shots administered in separate visits. Directs the Nations Health Department approve of vaccine research. Well, we should continue to do that. We've had an endless amount of vaccine research. He also said that. one-year-old should have their shops, shots separated into five visits. So it wasn't clear whether they were talking about all the vaccines they receive are specific ones. Another piece of audio we both heard where comparing that little kids are going in and there's like a, there's so many vaccines in there. You could fill up a bottle of soda in it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Or it's Coke straight into their veins. If we want to have doctors and scientists debate about the increase in the amount of vaccines, I'm all here to listen to it. We'll have one tomorrow, by the way. Mike Osterholm confirmed. 105 tomorrow. 105. He's got thoughts. Yeah, I got a feeling for some reason. Hills will be based in science and research. And by the way, if we do adjust, fine. But let's have some credible people involved with that. There are also some questions about Ray and Paul.
email information on Dr. Anthony Fauci and others and concerns about the impact on pregnant women. Let's find out more information about what Dr. Anthony Fauci was saying. If he's saying one thing publicly and saying another thing privately, it absolutely should be discussed. So we'll further that information. Also, that Bill Maher did make an interesting point, though, and probably the number one guy about privacy. In our government, the last 20 years, has been Rand Paul. But with Anthony Fauci, no privacy. I mean, Rand Paul will challenge his party all the time on privacy, libertarian stuff. But on Anthony Fauci, no privacy. Okay. Scooters and e-bikes last week, we did multiple segments on it. When you weren't here, Friday, I asked our guy Andy Lugar, I basically said quit Jay Jones Day and take on these fools who don't give a damn about any of the rules and laws associated with e-bikes and scooters. If you're using them and coming close to using them in the way you're supposed to, I don't care. I really don't. But I see it down here all the time. I see it in the neighborhood where I live. I see it elsewhere where it could be kids. You're supposed to be 12 here on east school. Give me a break. There's kids way younger than that. Number kids wearing helmets, 10% at best. The weaving in and out of sidewalks happens. All of the bleepin' time. The speeding and popping wheelies in on our traffic happens frequently. I was a troublemaker at times when I was a kid. Okay, I've talked about some of the stuff on air. Not proud of it, not bragging about it, but the idea, like Jason proudly says he was a nerd, I got myself in trouble. I'm not bragging about it. I just was. I'm not saying, whoa, a lot of people should aspire to that. And so it's one thing for kids to act like fools, and some of this is on parents, the adults. And so we get this guy in TikTok. What power to the guy in TikTok? Do we know his name? I heard it. Johan Vargas. 20 years old. Okay, 20. And Johann, as Chris Finch says about Aunt Edwards? Yohan's got some gravity. Because Yohan says this on TikTok and guess what happened? Hit it. I better see everyone there. I repost it, share it. We're all going to be there. I will be there too. If you got an e-bike, regular scooter, bring it. All right. We're all going to be there. So get there a little early, get there right on time, get there a little late, don't matter. Just be there, all right? And they were there. Hundreds around U.S. Bank Stadium. E-scooters, e-bikes, also flying down this thing I'd like to call the highway. The old 35W? Yeah. Not a small isolated highway. That wasn't in Ely, Minnesota. That wasn't in Nevis. That's a Saturday night 35W situation. And should we end the world as we know it because of it?
Of course not. Were they acting like clowns and jackasses? Yeah, they were. Because if those would have been cars stopping traffic, we call them out, right? If those are the individuals just on conventional bikes stopping traffic, I wouldn't say shoot to kill, but... I'd call it out, and it's becoming such a pattern. And if you don't think it's a pattern, you're sticking your head in the sand. You're not paying attention to what's happening a little bit down here. But as somebody just walked around Bidame, Kaska the other day, and saw the nonsense that's going on with e-bikes and scooters there, it's all over the place. So if people want to use the e-bikes, and the scooters, and they're not on the sidewalk, and they're semi-kind of sort of paying attention to the loss, you do you. But when they're acting like buffoons, you can call them out, and you should call them out. And if you're hindering traffic around U.S. Bank Stadium, let me think. Oh, there's this thing called HCMC nearby. What if there was an issue with that? What were we saying today? So, yeah, kids can act like kids and people can call them out also. That's allowed, right? It's allowed and they should be called out. That was... incredibly foolish behavior. Saturday night it was what, about 10, 30, 11 o'clock? Yep. I mean, who knows who's been downtown perhaps having a couple, maybe driving drunk, maybe close to it either way, not expecting what they eventually saw. You're just putting yourself in a really, really terrible situation. They weren't prepared to arrest them. Of course not. They don't have the numbers to arrest them. No. It's as simple as that. Two to 300 people, of course, you cannot arrest that many people flying around on their scooters and bikes. Then I saw this from an aging shock jock. I love scooters. I love the scooter takeover. Lighten up. When you make everything a federal case, it makes you look like an idiot. Nothing bad happened is fine. Aging shock jock, Jason to Russia with that. It's a shame. He'll join us next because he's a fool on this one. They're on the highway. They're stopping traffic in a busy part of town. I know he's trying to relate to the youngsters. It's hurting him a lot as an ageist that now he's old himself. And so he's trying to find a way to identify with the kids. The aging shock jock will try to defend his position when he joins us next. I love the scooter takeover. Lighten up. When you make everything a federal case, it makes you look like an idiot. Nothing bad happened. It's fine. That's aging shock jock, Jason Rush, on the scooter takeover. You're okay with him going on the highway, too?
How far can they go? The highway is, the highway is ridiculous. Yeah. The highway is ridiculous. How about buzzing over by HCMs? No problem. Okay with that? Look, you are, this is such fraudulent argument. Hmm. Oh, what about HCMC? It's right nearby. There's never been a car crash. There's never been a construction. And it's a problem. So we try to avoid those. So you have two minutes of, I've watched video that people have sent me like, look at the game. You studied it? 90 seconds of scooters going through an intersection. We don't have to take it to the extreme of like, oh, my God, what about this? What about that? Let's just deal with what happened. What happened was pretty harmless, kids being dumb, fun, fine. But it's an example what's happened in these scooters and bikes all the time. That, to me, is a separate issue because I am with you, especially on the e-bikes, the way people... E-bikes are essentially motorcycles. And kids are driving these things and riding them around like crazy. So my opinion on scooters originally was designed with the, you know, speed limited rental scooters downtown. Now what you see, especially in the neighborhoods, is kids essentially on BMX. motorcycles unlimited scooter that to me is dangerous and problematic this was to me this was to me this was joy harmless joy kids having fun But then all the old people have to come in and be like, whoa, my God. Ages. That's why ages here. It's not that big of a deal. Why does this have to be such a big deal? Well, because I need two segments to kill on the show. And that people are like, rules are rules. Like, give me a break. Like, yes, we should arrest everyone that goes one mile over the speed. I didn't say that. Some conformities, some paying attention. It's. It's happening so much that more people. Scooter takeovers? No, but the scooter delinquency and the e-bike delinquency. But is that the same thing? Yeah, but I think if you're allowed to do it all over the place, why can't we now do it here? But it's just like saying, like, oh, the drag racing cars were out of control, so now we're just mad at everybody who drives? Like, to me, the drag racing was a problem. Right. scooters recklessly driving dangerously, that's a problem. This to me was not that. No, I don't want this going on every week. How about if it's buzzer on your town, St. Paul? Love it. Mr. St. Paul? We could use the excitement. It's pretty boring over there. Could use the people. Bring the TikTok scooters to the 651. Are you going to have Johan on the show today? We should. Yeah, why not? Jason, check them out.
