I told my wife, I said, you make darn sure I'm dead before they put them in that oven. I just, I know, just insane. I heard that story. I was like, that is the scariest thing I've ever heard of my life. When they breathe so shallow that you can't. You know, unless you put a mirror down there, you really can't tell. They were about to start the procedure and like his family was there. And they're like, his eyes are open. He's looking at me. And they're like, no, no, that's just a reflex. And then eventually the doctor's like, okay, we have to stop. We think this guy is still alive. Did the guy say, I'm going to need that. Stop! Yeah, geez. I was like, oh, my. I heard that story this point. I was like, dear God, that is a horror movie. Yeah, I heard that's it. Well, you know, you should say they're buried people alive. Yeah, yeah. Didn't mean to. Yeah, that's true. But no, no, no, the reason why your heart, your blood pressure, heart rate's going to go up, because I have to ask this question. Okay. Captain Max, are you ready for that? Oh, lay it on me. Okay. I'm just saying it's possible. It's possible. It's going to come up in the Sunday news talk shows because it does seem like, by the way, welcome to the second hour of Yafi live. We're just having fun today. It seems like they're, she's prepping. She's going to run for president. Well, she needs to learn something about what she's doing. What has she done in Congress besides whining cry? You're right. But it doesn't, unfortunately in today's world, you don't have to be the smartest person in the room to become president. Yeah, but when you're the dumbest. I'm just saying, I think we're under, the Democrats might make her the nominee. It might happen. I'm just saying President Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as I call her. That's something that is going to come up in the Sunday news show's recap. By the way, yes, you are listening to Yeffi Live. This is the show where you can count on the latest news, the best guests and the best live and local talk all for your midday commute. And let's go ahead and do it. Recapping what was talked about, what happened on those Sunday news talk shows. I'm talking Fox News Sunday, NBC's Meet the Press, ABC this week, and others. So you don't have to worry about it. You can watch whatever you want, my public service to you. You're welcome. You're welcome. I'm leaving. I don't want to do you. He just leave. He doesn't want to hear any Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cuts. All right. I bring this up because, yes, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-C-C-O-C-Och. She was on ABC this week, and I'm telling you, I don't know if it's going to work. I'm not sure that if she was in an election against JD Vance or Marco Rubio, she could win. But I will tell you one. We don't always vote in the best people. This idea, oh, she's stupid. She can ever win. She's clever. She knows how to get attention. And she is becoming more polished. She's trying to portray herself as more of a moderate because she wants to run for president. And in a weird election year, we can end up with that, which I don't want to think about. But it's very true. So anyway, let me go through some of these cuts. You can kind of tell what I'm talking about here. She sounds different than she used to. I'm not saying she sounds that much smarter. But you can just tell that, I mean, there's talk that maybe she'll just run for the Senate in New York, which is possible. I think she's going to run for president. But here it is. I think that we are in a time of renewal for the Democratic Party. And it's tremendously exciting for all of us, for the big tent of the Democratic Party. We have really an ascendance of a young, inspiring, exciting, electorate, energizing wave of candidates that I think. really inject a new energy to the Democratic Party and add to the toolbox of candidates that we have to win the midterm elections, hopefully in November. All right, so you can just, I'm telling you, she's trying to sound more moderate. She's a little more polished. Now, there's a reason why maybe the Democrats would support her, because they believe maybe she could. be the middle ground here, which is sad. When Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's the middle ground, it's kind of sad. But she could unite the party among the really radical Democrat Socialists and the more moderate Democrats. They're going to try to find someone that can unite the party. And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could be that. She is well loved by the Democrat socialist base, but she's trying to moderate herself a little bit to still be endearing to the rest of the party. And we can make fun of her because, oh, she's a former bartender and all this stuff. How are she in Congress? But a lot of people are going to like that story. They see it as a sort of, I guess it would be Mrs. Smith goes to Washington kind of story. Regular person becoming president. People eat that stuff up. I'm telling you, the media is going to help her.

8:17

I think it's possible, but here's more. But this is Michigan. I mean, this is battleground Michigan, and he won. Now he has the biggest test. Can he win in November? What does he have to do to win over those Democrats who opposed him? Well, you know, I think that this really is a moment, not just in Michigan, but across the country, where the party is unifying. The party is unifying and it is focused on the November elections. We understand that our priority is the working class of this country. And we have to make the case that we're here to make people's lives better. And the Republican Party right now is jacking up prices, making housing impossible to afford. And we are focused on everything from health care to your grocery bill and making it more affordable for working people. The party is uniting, she says. I mean, I don't know about that. They're making it about affordability. I always think it's funny. I don't know how the Democrats have any credibility and affordability either. You can blame Donald Trump for Iran and high gas prices, but inflation is nowhere near what it was when the Democrats had complete control under Biden. and decided to pass the American Rescue Plan Act without Republican support. Then they try to pass build back better, turn into the Inflation Reduction Act. We made COVID spending the new normal. So this idea that Democrats can fix things on affordability. And she mentioned there, oh, the working class. We're for the working class. We already went over the numbers. When you look at who is actually voting for Democrat Socialists, it's not typical working class voters. It is college educated voters that got some kind of social degree and then they can't find a good job so they're mad about it. That's really who's voting for Democrat Socialists. Here is more from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I think that. everyday people, everyday Americans, we can see the very large gap between what Donald Trump says and what Donald Trump does. And so Donald Trump may be saying that oil companies are making too much money, but what Donald Trump is doing is starting a reckless war in Iran, having closed door meetings with oil companies before his election saying, you know, you give me... money, you give me campaign contributions and I will do whatever you want. And so what we have seen, everything from Supreme Court rulings to Donald Trump's own policy is what he is doing is jacking up the price, not just at the pump, but at everything that you buy that requires the transportation of goods. And so he can say whatever he'd like from the Oval Office, but I think people are more looking at what he chooses to do. Now, I will say this. I'm not a huge fan when Trump is out there blaming oil companies for high gas prices. I wish that Trump would be more of a promoter of the free market because that's how you beat socialist. You promote the free market. But once again, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was one of the co-sponsors of the Green New Deal.

11:36

You want to talk high gas prices. Imagine if all that green energy, green New Deal stuff that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wanted to push. Imagine if that passed, that's high gas prices. So the fact that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is very concerned about gas prices right now, her goal was to raise gas prices for years. Because, well, it's good for the environment. We have to stop oil. It's good for the environment. Fracking, she wanted to ban that. So now she's very concerned. I just, I can't buy it. I can't buy it. Here's more. The movement go too far with some of those positions. I mean, you briefly supported the idea of defunding the police. Well, you know, I think, I think that. During this time and during, especially during COVID, there was a huge opening of the Overton window. We were shut down. There was some of the highest unemployment rates that we have seen because of those shutdowns. And I think that the doors were really open in trying to entertain any and every policy that was going to get us to a better place. And I actually think that the discussions that had... that were had in that time were quite fruitful. I think that when we talk about crime today, it's fundamentally different than the way that we talked about crime in bringing crime down, right? And I think that we all share in the goals of having as low a crime rate as possible. I think that, you know, during lockdown, Of course, rhetoric in that time is not rhetoric that we would use today. And I'm grateful that these candidates have the opportunity to present who they are to their electorate and what they're campaigning on in this moment. See, I'm telling you, she's trying to sound more moderate, more polished, not so extreme. It's because she wants to run for president. By the way, I do love this answer, though. Look, what she's basically saying is, look, we were all crazy during COVID. We all said crazy, nutty things during COVID. Abolish the police? And when did she stop saying nutty things last week? Pretty much. I do love that. Oh, well, yeah, I said abolish the police, but it was COVID. It was different time. Oh, sure. Sure. Okay. I'm telling you, all those shots made us crazy. We're all crazy. I think she was a little crazy before then. I just, you know, just my take. All right, well, on more of the Sunday news shows recap coming up next on Yaffe Live. Stay with us.
