Chief Deputy Michael Fowler says a man in his 60s was threatening to harm himself at the Super 8 on Lehigh Station Road in Henrietta yesterday afternoon. Armed with a box cutter, apparently in the attempt of self-harm. Deputies made contact with him, gave him several directions to drop the weapon. His subject was uncooperative, and the deputies fired their weapons, striking the subject. The man was dead at the scene. He's not yet been identified. The deputies are now on administrative leave, and as per usual, the sheriff's office and the Attorney General's office investigating. There are no arrests in an early morning shooting on Rochester Southwest Side. Police say they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the upper body at around 2 this morning on Depew Street near Gardner Street. He was rushed to strong hospital and is expected to survive. Investigators believe it was a targeted shooting. Dominicichichorelli News Radio, WAM 1180.
Mr. Man, seriously heard after a stabbing in the Beechwood neighborhood. Police say someone slashed the 36-year-old in the upper body on East Main Street between Baldwin and Beechwood streets shortly before 1030 last night. The victim remains in the hospital in stable condition. The 32-year-old Rochester woman now in custody, no word yet on the charges. It does not appear that any charges will be filed and a deadly crash in Clarkson. It happened just before noon yesterday at the intersection of Route 104 and Monroe Orleans County Line Road. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says an SUV driver failed to yield the right of way to a tractor trailer and was killed. That victim has not been identified. Two young men remain in the hospital with serious injuries after an Ontario County ATV crash. Deputies say it happened late Saturday night on Goss Road in East Bloomfield. Their ATV rear-ended an SUV that was pulling over for an emergency vehicle. That sent the ATV down an embankment ejecting both men. Everyone in the ESO. UV was okay. A preliminary hearing is set for today for a Rochester couple charged in the death of a two-year-old child. Rochester General Hospital workers found bruises, bite marks, and other injuries on little Isaiah Jay Jones when he arrived there May 10th. He died eight days later. The boy's mother, 25-year-old Indian Duncan and her boyfriend, 30-year-old Joshua Velaz, are charged with second-degree murder. Meanwhile, Monroe County officials say an internal child protective services review is underway, and they've asked the State of Office of Children and Family Services to examine protocols and procedures. Two of the four suspects in a violent drug-related kidnapping on Rochester's north side are also due in court today. 22-year-old Wilson Ventura Cruz and 26-year-old Carlos de Jesusus faced kidnapping conspiracy and gun crimes. Police say the pair, along with 43-year-old Azlar de La Vila de Vila. bound two victims with tape, then assaulted them, and had them bitten by a dog all over a drug debt. Officers recovered two loaded handguns from the home on Wild Street, along with nearly 300 vials of suspected fentanyl and a bloody sword. News Radio Whamble at 80-time 7.05. The situation in the Middle East remains tense as Iran issues new demands to the U.S. amid ongoing talks to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Fox's Strait Yinks with the latest from Tel Aviv. Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a fresh statement over the weekend. calling on the United States to permanently end the war and compensate Iran for damages before the strait would reopen. Iran's foreign minister says even if a deal is reached, it doesn't necessarily mean the strait will stay open. The talks with Uman are about the temporary rocks. 32-year-old Thomas David Ryan is now in custody. That announcement Sunday morning by New York State Police, they haven't said yet how he was captured. Doorbell video allegedly shows him running from the fiery Orange County crime scene. He's believed to have killed his 70-year-old father, Robert Ryan, last Thursday, then setting his Greenville house on fire to make it look like he died in the blaze. The man suspected of shooting his parents in Madison County was free on bail just days before the murders. Deputies say Justin Sislo had been under investigation for domestic-related assault against a woman in the town of Arabia in Cayuga County in early July. He was arrested and facing several felony charges, but... had been out on bail that had been paid by his parents. Nine days later, after he was free, Cislo is accused of killing his parents before turning the gun on himself. A distinctive 21-story glass office tower on the downtown skyline now has a new owner. Excelsior Communities has purchased the first federal plaza on East Main Street. That's the 50-year-old building that once had a revolving restaurant on the circular top floor. Excelsior is planning a mix of premier living, office, and retail space. The company...

Two Monroe County deputies have fatally shot a man during a confrontation into Henrietta Motel. They were called to the Super 8 on Lehigh Station Road yesterday afternoon after reports that a man in his 60s was threatening to harm himself. Authorities say the situation escalated, leading deputies to fire their weapons. The chief deputy, Michael Fowler, says those deputies are now on administrative leave. The deputies are shaken. It's not something that they set out to do. You can tell that it does bother them, but they are being taken care of. And they still do have a long process to go through.

Volodymyr Zelensky, warning Pyongyang is gaining combat experience and Russian aid. Kiev is seeking more air defenses from the U.S. and South Korea. This comes after North Korea also conducted a ballistic missile test. War games are underway in Taiwan. Fox's Jeff Paul has more from Taipei. The annual drills are meant to examine Taiwan's readiness amid growing Chinese pressure. China-Taiwan analysts Sung-Win-T says this year is less about performative displays of firepower and more about improving combat capabilities. Civil preparedness is tested too, like here in the city of Kao Xion. And just like that, one of the largest cities here in Taiwan coming to a standstill, you can hear the warning sirens going off, basically telling people to get inside and take shelter. It is a drill meant to prepare everyone here on this island for the possibility of an incoming air attack. Taiwan knows its defense can't solely rely on its soldiers. Everyone has a role to play. The growing controversy over automated surveillance cameras has now surfaced in one of America's famed national parks. New Flot cameras have been installed across Yosemite National Park despite mass surveillance concerns. The New York Post and the website Dflog.org report that the devices were erected in six Yosemite locations last month.
However, Yosemite officials say the cameras are not there to read license plates but to help control traffic, which can cause massive backups of up to 90 minutes on weekends. The deal support the MK48 heavyweight torpedo program and the submarine fleet spare parts. Graham says the award reflects strong demand across its defense platforms and will be. added to its fiscal 2027 backlog. Advantage federal credit unions helping families displaced by June's apartment fire in Clarkson. Advantage, the Brockport Community Connection and the Salvation Army have launched a relief effort for the 21 affected families. Advantage will match community donations, dollar for dollar, up to $40,000 to help victims rebuild after losing everything in the fire. No charges are expected after a fatal crash in Clarkson. It happened just before noon yesterday at Route 104 in Monroe Orleans County Line Road. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the driver of an SUV failed to yield to a tractor trailer and was killed in that collision. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is formally rejecting President Trump's Gaza Board of Peace Plan. Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas must fully demilitarized before any withdrawal of its military could occur. The Palestinian militants have conditionally agreed to the plan, but say Israel continues to sabotage efforts to stop the war. Jury selection in the highly anticipated murder trial of Dwayne Davis, accused of orchestrated the 1996 murder of rap legend Tupac Shakur, is set to begin later on today in Las Vegas. Davis faces life in prison without parole if he's convicted.
