Family heating and air. So school is back. They're starting to go. This week, got to assume for most everybody, kids will be back in school. So first things first, buses back on the road. Tony Katz 93, WIBC, good morning. Great to be here. So that's going to happen. Something you got to be aware of because things are going to change for your morning commute. Things that used to be a little bit easier will be a little bit less easy. You got to give yourself the time. You got to start planning. Number two, now we will start getting into the, well, you know, the teachers aren't being paid enough season. I believe it comes right before or right after pumpkin spice season. I don't. It used to be the pumpkin spice season started in October, but now we're starting pumpkin spice season in August because it's already out on the shelves. If you've been listening to Eat, Drink, Smoke, the cigar, bourbon food show that I do. It's already out on the shelves, which means Easter decorations right around the corner. We're getting very early into everything. And of course, one cannot discuss. back to school without discussing the most important part of it all. It's the most wonderful time of the year. No kids, no. Your parents love you. Please, don't get me wrong. They love you and they adore you and they're still going to put all your artwork on the fridge even when it stinks. It's just they're happy. They're happy. Just to have a little bit of silence. It's the happiest season of all. But isn't it? Isn't it? Until, of course, you realize what it is that your kids don't learn when they get sent to school and you're like, my gosh, what have we done? So just remember, kids, while your parents may be thrilled to have just a wee bit of silence, it's all temporary and what's permanent is the holy hell we're putting you through with the non-education that you're getting. Was that? Was that too much? Was that too soon?

Have fun, though. Truly, have a great time. I have got a ton to get to. I've got the word from Axios that President Trump says we're lockeying it with Iran. I'll explain what that means, how it ties into a story with the Wall Street Journal, which if you went to Tonycats.com and you got your email yesterday. How anyone could believe this story is insane and how insane the story is if it's true. It's one of those. That is a concept, nope, I can walk through all of it and make it all go away. There's also the ever-loven possibility that, yeah, sure. Yeah, we're this nuts. And then, of course, how Bernie Sanders wants to have a pause on AI development. You understand if Bernie Sanders had his way, we never would have developed the automobile or the airplane. This is not a guy who believes in growth. You want to talk about weak minds, weak people, weak constitutions. AI pauses? China is not stopping. This isn't stopping. We do have to ask ourselves about our guardrails. That much is true. But this falls in line with the same people who don't understand what data centers are. The mob mentality silliness against data centers, which comes from the left and the right, ignorance at its finest. We got to further rip that apart. State fair is going. We heard about some violence that happened there. You'll hear that story from Ryan Hedrick in the WIBC newsroom. And we avoided a shutdown. That in and of itself is a story. Tony Katz, 93 WIBC. Good morning. Well, we can listen to that all day. I have a job I have to do. Why did you send me a video of City County counselor, communist Jesse Brown, singing? Because I know that you love his singing. It's not true. He's talking about budgets and austerity. Listen to this. One day, boy, another year, another budget speech. This never-ending road to austerity. This man whose budgets are a crime sure seems to be drunk all the time one day more. Oh, well, Jesse Brown has decided to come out swinging. I mean, if we're going to give the communist credit where it's due, he did call for, uh, for Joe Hogsett to resign. The Democrats didn't do that, but they threw him out and rightfully so, and the DSA threw him out, and that's just hilarious. But he's one of these people who believes that we should have data center moratoriums. Is he one of those? Yeah, he is, he is one of those. I didn't hear the whole thing. I just caught that first part. I'm like, why is counselor Jesse Brown singing? And he's wearing an ascot, which is never. That is very rarely a look.

Indeed. A finger on the dump button there, producer Carl. Well, theater kid. How dare you call me a theater kid? All right, fine. Maybe I was a theater kid. Yeah, we know you were a theater kid. And now he's all opposed to data centers. These people, unsurious, but we'll get to that later. Low-key is the way President Trump is describing the new approach with Iran. We're low-keying it. All right. So basically we're dating the fat girl now. Is that what we're doing? We really like her. We just don't want our friends to know. For the ladies, you're dating a guy who's only five, six. There, you see? Now, don't get upset. We see how you speak about people who are shorter. And, well, if you want to die alone, that's fine. Wow, now I'm coming out swinging. What the heck is going on? I got good sleep and everything. The president's saying that we're going to keep the economic pressure on Iran, as opposed to ordering a new military offensive, even if the country wants to act in open defiance, we were about ready to totally annihilate them. And now, here we are. Is the straight going open, not open? Nobody knows. You know what? Why get worked up about it? Just, we'll just keep up the pressure and that'll be that. Oil prices, $78.80 a barrel in the West Texas crude, $84.38 cents on the Brent crude, not where the president wants to be. But all of this is in the backdrop of...

A Wall Street Journal story. The story headline was Trump thought opening the Strait of Hormuz was imminent Iran had other plans. What the story is about is this idea that Trump is now so desperate to get out of this. He's willing to do anything. He doesn't even need guarantees that they won't pursue a nuclear weapon. He'll just say that he won. And as long as oil prices go down, we're good. Now, for those of us who've been paying attention and understand the rules of Trumpism, the first rule of Trumpism is Trump wins. The second rule of Trumpism is that a deal can always be made as long as it adheres to the first rule of Trumpism. Now, there is a third rule, which I've been working on what constitutes a deal, see Rules 1 and 2. Right? A deal can be anything. He could say this at any time, declare a victory at any time. What he can't do is have a legacy if Iran starts working towards a centrifuge again, starts engaging in uranium enrichment again. There's no legacy. It gets ripped apart. So the idea that Trump has grown tired of this doesn't have the will for this anymore. Trump wants legacy more than he wants oxygen. It would seem a very weird thing to say, oh, he's going to walk away from it all. Iran has control of the strait. We can't stop Iran from blocking ships in the strait. And now they want hundreds of billions of dollars. And we have to admit we are wrong. And all the troops have to leave the region. That could be Iran's position and plan all you like. They could have made the calculation that they simply, if they can remain standing as at least they are through the IRGC, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, well, then they have won this thing. They can outlast because the U.S. doesn't have the stomach for it because of high oil prices, which is also the fault of President Trump for not explaining the situation to the American people, just saying, do whatever, go along with whatever I want. They won't do it. They won't do it. You're powerful. You ain't that powerful. It's not the way this works. And no one on your team has told you this yet, which is stunning. Wait, they've told him he's not listening? Possible. Iran can claim the tough guy all they want. But something that we have noted here is certainly true. We are not dealing with any regime at all. We're not dealing with any organization whatsoever. We're dealing with the IRGC. Now, you say to me, Tony, that is an organization. These are factions within factions. And there was a really interesting piece on someone's substack, I'll get the name of it, that discusses the idea that what we're dealing with here becomes mostly impossible to deal with. because you're dealing with individual groups within the IRGC and they are not actually ideologically concerned. Now that's a takeoff of something that I have said. I should say a takeoff. I should say a departure because I discuss these people being Islamists and they are. But they also have an interest in their own power. And to make a deal is to cut off their own power and they have no interest in that.

So you have these individual groups within the IRGC acting as their own factions and fighting as they feel they need to or want to. Uncontrollable, but what they keep is their power base. And that is everything. We had heard stories that there were those in Turkey working with the Iranians to help move sanctioned oil. Well, that was one person moving millions and millions and tens of not hundreds of millions worth of oil. What makes us think that it isn't happening in other places? So they're able to fund this and keep their power base. So we're not dealing with a regime. We're not dealing with a government. We're dealing with factions. And then there are multiple pieces within the faction. And you cannot get them to some cohesive kind of deal because deals are not their interest. You possibly have a president who's grown tired of this. Maybe he has, but he hasn't grown tired of the border. He hasn't grown tired of tariffs. Why would I believe that this is the case? Some talking point on MSNBC, MS now, whatever the hell they call themselves. I don't buy that either. And as for the low keying it, we'll just keep the economic sanctions. We were discussing this last week. This is a country that is working towards economic collapse. I would never have given them the billions of dollars that you did, but it doesn't flow to the people anyway. There has to be a discussion about arming the Kurds. There has to be a discussion about arming the people. There has to be a discussion about breaking the IRGC from the inside. But the very idea that I'm going to believe the Wall Street Journal on this, there's no reason to. But I will state for the record with all things being possible. If Trump said, hey, we've got lower oil prices, lower, not low, lower, it's good enough. There are not enough four letter, five, letter, six letter, and seven letter words I would have for Donald Trump and that whole team. And I would try my best to use them all here and not lose my job. Oh. You turn and run now? The level of relentless from me would be overwhelming. Read the story, read the Axio story, and then put it all to the side. No one has an idea of what Trump's going to do next, which is his plan all along. The reckoning moment for the WNBA is here. Tony Katz 93 WIBC. Good morning. Allow me for the sake of clarity. The WNBA did this to themselves. It is all their fault. It's a total lack of management. It's a total lack of PR. It's a total lack of being willing to be honest. And most importantly, to tell whatever it was that was the WNBA, that's over. This, of course, is the news that you have two former NBA players who have now announced that they will be declaring for the WNBA draft. Good Lord. Ines Cantor, I knew. Royce White don't know. But they have both decided that based on the eligibility requirements, the WNBA can't keep them out. So they're going to declare for the 2027 draft.

The left can go on the attack all they want. These aren't real women, this, that, the other, but somehow trans women or women, even though they're men. They can't define. They can't be honest. They can't explain. They have no reason to keep these people out. Oh, you have to be taking this drug and that drug. All of a sudden, there are rules. So there are no rules of what makes a woman, right? Biology does not matter. You can take all these drugs, but if you don't take the right drugs, then you can't say you're a woman. So there is a standard of what makes a woman. Fantastic. They don't hear themselves. They don't listen to themselves. Of course, it's all madness. But the madness is all on them. Specifically, the liberal white woman who is so totally broken and wants society to be destroyed for their families and for their future. Liberal white women are the absolute worst. Hello, hello women of West Carmel, Westbrook-Clay, how are you? Yes, we're talking about you. Oh, Boone County and Hendricks, so many of you. Liberal white women are broken people. who will bring about the worst of the worst because they are fine with the worst of the worst. They won't stand up to anything unless its name is Trump and then, ooh. They won't stand up for their own daughters. So by announcing that they're going to do this, the WNBA had to respond. And the WNBA's response is that they're going to have a meeting. They're going to have a meeting. regarding transgender people in female sports, saying the topic is complex and nuanced. No, it's not. Not by any stretch. It seems, and you've heard this repeated, that they're going to have a meeting amongst the WNBA brass to determine in the Women's National Basketball Association, what is a woman? You can't. Can't make this up. It cannot be made up. This is who they are. The Women's National Basketball Association needs to have a meeting to determine what a woman is. They did this to themselves because this is such an easy thing to answer. And they won't do it because they're afraid of the press. They're afraid of the people and they're afraid of their own players. It's make a break time. However it works, however it goes down. Tony Katz 93, WIBC, good morning. If it were up to Bernie Sanders, we would never grow as a nation. That's a very obvious thing to say out loud when you see the story that Bernie Sanders is calling for an AI development pause. Tony Katz, 93, WIBC, good morning. I put forth to you. That this is the same argument being made by those people who want AI data center moratoriums in the state of Indiana. Two things can be true at the same time. The AI, whether you like it or not, is inconsequential. And the AI is something we need to keep our eye on. Not every county in Indiana needs a data center.

or wants a data center. But plenty of counties in Indiana would be thrilled to have a data center. We can decide that we are a state that doesn't do data centers. If so, what is it that we do? That last argument has always been my first one. That's the one that I have, I come to on a regular basis. If our plan... is not to do data centers. What is our plan? What is it that we're interested in doing, building, creating? And what I have learned from the political left and a good swath of political right is zero. Not interested in building a damn thing. This is a terrible approach that is harmful to Indiana, and I'm only hoping Chuck Goodrich, now that he is the Secretary of Commerce, is working overtime to correct some of the real mistakes that were made by the Braun administration from before day one. Mistakes with growth, mistakes with the IADC, all of it. I still oppose the concept of elevate ventures. I still oppose writing checks and determining winners and losers. Going out and selling our story and creating plans and opportunities to bring business in. Of course we should. We're in competition. No growth is death. Let's grow up and deal with that reality. Let us be sure that we're creating jobs for all types of Hoosiers in all the places. Do we need biomed? Of course we do. Do we need manufacturing? Of course we do. Is there a place in Indiana for both? 100%. Why would we forego one for the other? Why would we create a Main Street approach that would forego large-scale development? Main Street approach doesn't work for everybody. Ignoring Main Street seems kind of silly, but saying it is the front and center to forego the other things, which is what happened in Indiana, nutty. Gen Z can push back against AI all they want. There's a fantastic story from the New York Post that Gen Z has taken up smoking. It's amazing. And why do they take up smoking? And I'm not saying you should smoke unless it's cigars, in which case, go right ahead. Honestly, if you want me to do intro to cigars for Gen Z, pick the day. You give me 10 Gen Zers, 10 of them, young Republicans, young Democrats, I don't care. Ten Gen Zers who want a class on Cigar 101 for Gen Z, I will set that up. 100%. Why are they smoking? Because it's a connection to something real. Man, this whole digital revolution, they feel wholly disconnected from anything that is tactile, connected to others, to actual things. The move back to DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, I was in a thrift store with my oldest.

And if you're already going to do it, why should they do anything? You go do it. You go decide why should we regulate ourselves? You want to regulate, you go right ahead. You and Nate Dogg go regulate. The AI is here and there are things we have to deal with. Yes, there are things that we can ask, hey, what about safety and security going forward? Development is not the room of government. And I'd like to teach Gen Ziers how to smoke cigars and enjoy themselves.
