Ep: 5651: Fauci an Florida Law.

Thursday on the morning show with Preston Scott. He is Jose. Can you see? And I am merely Preston. Great to be with you this morning, my friends, my fellow citizens, because I doubt anybody here illegally would be listening to me. Good to be with you. It is August the 6th. More on that in a moment. Show 56-51, and we begin with God's words. Psalm 3419. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Two parts to that. First, there is a brutal reality. We live in a fallen world. There's nothing until Jesus returns and we return with him when he judges everything and it's all settled. Now, there are people that think that that kind of things already happened. We won't get into the theological debate. I think the evidence is right there in front of us right now. We live in a fallen world. Sin abounds. We fight it daily. But because we live in this world, afflictions are many. Just because you're a Christian does not mean, well, no more problems for you. Everything is just going to be the yellow brick road. We know better. It's the second part of that verse that we remind ourselves of. The Lord delivers us out of them. But even in that, we have to understand, well, what does deliver mean?

Many people are troubled by the reality that bad things happen to people that love Jesus. That people that love Jesus die painful deaths. Face various diseases. Struggle. Day to day. Paying bills. This is where an eternal view of things really makes a difference. It's temporary. No matter what happens. When my brother was diagnosed with cancer, in literally every organ of his body. He got it from serving in Vietnam. The cancer came from Agent Orange. He was a Marine. He served in the jungles of Vietnam. He was an honored member of the military. My brother is healed now. And when one day he's reunited with a body, it's going to be healed and perfect. He will be delivered from that affliction, that cancer. I prayed that he would be delivered of that on this side of eternity. But when it's all said and done,

God called him home a few minutes before me. In the grand scheme of if a day is to the Lord is a thousand years, my brother went to Jesus a few minutes early. And so we hold on to that promise with the afflictions that we face. We will be delivered. It might be on this side of eternity. It might be on the other, but we walk every single day knowing with that hope. God is on your side. You just need to live a life in such a way that he's able to be on your side. Does that make sense? And I won't go into what the issue is, but the problems with the broadcast kind of interrupting and it just being weird. I got word yesterday that that... The team has identified a problem, a malfunctioning piece of equipment. And what it boils down to is it's a redundancy system that if something goes down, there's another system that boots it back up and they weren't talking to each other. And so we were just having collisions all over the place. And so the piece that's malfunctioned is being replaced. It might happen today. So we've removed the bad one. So we should be at least be cleaner. If something interrupts, then that's where that redundancy is built in to make sure that you don't lose it. So if something happens, you might lose us for a bit, but it's not going to be the train wreck. It's been. And so we're getting the party, and I believe today, it's been overnighted to us and our crack engineer. Charlie is going to be installing that piece of equipment. So I just wanted you to know your emails and your calls. We hear you. We trust me. There are no two people that care more than Jose and me. We care very much about the quality of our broadcast. I have never accepted. Well, you're just in Tallahassee, you know, it's just, it's just Tallahasseh. It's not like it's Orlando or Miami. Well, it, to me, it's New York. To me, it's Chicago or Los Angeles. To me, it is a major market. And we try to do a radio program that measures up to anything you will hear anywhere in the country. We might not have all of the staffing that others have, but you know what? With that fellow over there, I got enough. And with the research team that we have, I have enough because none of them are paid, not even the lead research assistant. It's just a desire that we have to be the best we can be every single day. The cleanest, the...

most interesting and fun to listen to, informative, maybe a little poking and prodding. So your calls and comments on how we sound, they do not fall on deaf ears or blind eyes. We get it. And so just know this. There's nothing you're going to say that's going to hurt my heart because, quite honestly, I hold us to the higher standard than any of you or anyone that I work under, any of my bosses. They can never say anything to me that's going to hurt me because I hurt myself with my own self-critique more than anyone else can never do it. So it doesn't bother me. I consider it a compliment that you care enough to say, you guys are sounding rugged and this is happening and that's happening because we don't know. We don't know. We're in a cocoon here. We're in a cocoon here. We just hear what we're saying. Right now, we don't even hear what's going on the air when we're not on. When it's not us talking or our music playing, the band, we don't know. Literally, we don't know. It's a really weird feeling that we have been kind of ushered into in the last few months. And I don't know that we'll ever get used to it. So we really need you. To do what you've done. Let us know when things sound off. Sometimes it is an atmospheric thing that we can't do. No one can do anything about except God. And it's just the way the earth and the sun and interact at certain times of the year. But other times, if it's something that just sounds just weird off, you just let me know. And we will do everything in our power to. to correct it. All right. Sixth of August real quickly, constitutional convention in Philadelphia begins to draft the Constitution 1787. 1945 U.S. drops the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Or as others might say, Hiroshima. Brutal decision, but guess what? It saved lives. Brutal decision that saved lives. LBJ signs the Voting Rights Act, which outlaws literacy tests for would-be voters, 1965. By the way, all of those tests were in the South run by Democrats. All of those obstructions for desegregation were found by Democrats in the South. Just to let you know. That's a fact. Ugly as it might be, that's a fact. And in 2012. NASA's Curiosity rover lands on Mars. Okay, let's come back with, have you ever heard of three halves?

That's the name of the thing. I don't, don't ask me how they came up with it. It is a, it is a robotic design by a California-based startup company called, and I might get this wrong, satirass, satirass. It has gone viral online. It is seven feet tall, four legs with the body of a centaur, the head of a bull, no hands, and glowing eyes. Now, you might be thinking that what somebody made here was like some image of the beast or something like that from scripture. Uh-uh. This design was inspired by the wildfires and this dude in California and some other guys formed this company and this robotic shape is made to tackle wildfires and disaster zones that are too dangerous for humans. It's insane to look at this thing. I'm showing a picture of it to Jose. Yeah, it's like, it's crazy. It looks demonic. Yes, it does. And the designer said, I get it. There's some people that think the designer is really cool. Some people are kind of horrified by it. He said, he's designed it in such a way that it does not have hands. It's got legs for terrain purposes, but it can be outfitted, for example, with a chainsaw to go in and I guess cut down trees. And it has a massive drill that it can carry for purposes that I don't know what it would be for in forestry, but maybe somebody out there does. We're taking teleoperation focused approach not to replace skilled workers, but to give skilled workers superpowers. in jobs that are dangerous for humans now or impossible due to risk of injury, death, extreme heat, bitter cold, pitch darkness, or other inhumane conditions. It has cameras on the tip of its horns and its nose, for lack of a better way of putting it, its eyes. It's... It's creepy to the core, yes. It can be run with a joystick, just like a gamer. It can clear brush, cut down trees, and again, go in where you don't want to send a human being. I'm getting to the coup de grace here. You ready? If... something were to ever go wrong and the chainsaw wielding three halves were to go running a muck trying to kill people it has it has a set of instructions and there's only one prototype but they've created an actual manual and diagram that shows how to kill it

where to either shoot it or knife it or to decapitate the thing to just to stop it it's hilarious they've got a full diagram here showing where to end its ability to do anything now that brings me to think about okay well if you've got these which you you need to have a way to shut these things down right otherwise we're talking i robot and crazy killer robots wandering the earth marauding through neighborhoods and killing people. If you've got areas that are kill zones on the thing, how does it survive the harsh conditions of, say, a forest fire? Isn't a... I mean, I don't know. Maybe there's a material out there that's just not going to melt, burn and... But protect the wiring. I mean, it's got movement. It's got joints. It's called three halves if you want to look at it. The number three halves, H-A-L-V-E-S, one word, three halves. I have no idea why they called it that. No clue, but it's crazy. And you ought to know about it, right? Christina, thank you for writing in. I always love hearing from people listening to the program. Yes, I do find it. Maybe I don't think I found it hilarious, but amusing, yes. And I'll tell you why. First, If you think about it, we've got a kill switch on every car. Every boat, every piece of heavy equipment has a kill switch. Right? I mean, that's, and so we're talking about an advancement in robotic technology that could, in fact, help save lives of people doing certain types of high-risk jobs. I mean, I would think that if you could find a way to send, and we're already doing it, you send robotics into a collapsed building looking for survivors, and you're not endangering people going in there and maybe the building collapsing further or what have you. But like any machinery, And I brought up cars and boats and tractors and bulldozers and, you know, everything else because those are things that are mainstreamed into our life and it's all machinery that has a kill switch to keep everybody safe to not have the car run. We have an emergency break to make sure that a car doesn't slip out of gear and go crashing into people or into buildings or what have you. So that's all. You know, I, um.

I do think it looks kind of, I would not have designed it to look the way it looks. But there is function. And Jose and I looked at a video. There is function behind its design, right? The cameras in the ears or horns or wherever they're going to end up putting them, there is function behind it. And so, yeah. Big stories in the press box. He did it. James Uthmeier, subpoenaed Anthony Fauci. Short version, and here's where he thinks there's a little room to look a little deeper. We're reviewing possible violations of Florida law, including deceptive trade practices, fraud, and public nuisance. He said the fact that he wouldn't answer questions tells me that he's got something to hide. He said, we'll get to the bottom of it. He said, we're really focused on his self-dealing. Well, you know, he did come into Florida. He, you know, he made fun of people that didn't get the shot or ridiculed him, even though privately he was saying totally different things. Michigan has chosen Abdul El-Sayed as the Senate candidate Democrat Party. won by less than one point.97. He was supposed to win by far more. The indications are from polling that Jewish and blacks did not support him. That will be interesting. Two groups of people in the state that the socialists seem to be losing are them. Republican Mike Rogers, who, by the way, formerly in the Army, formerly an FBI agent, former state, sorry, former congressional representative from Michigan. He said, I spent years hunting terrorists and bringing Osama bin Laden to justice. Never in a million years did I think I would be running against someone who believes America deserved 9-11. And it's true. The candidate believes that America got what it deserved. Zohran Mamdani's grocery stores are already facing problems. And just a little tidbit here, Chicago's closing its. The Chicago government-run grocery stores are closing. It's a train wreck. And John Fetterman is out there torching Democrats for elevating Hamas-loving Mao-praising communists. Is John Fetterman the only Democrat that understands? How fascinating that it's him. We were like, has this guy lost his mind? Maybe his injuries and issues have caused him to become more conservative and to understand that he was wrong about it. I don't know. I don't know, but at least there's one out there. It is that profoundly real. Islam doesn't leave room for dissent. And that's what you, what Kat Cammack said, 52,000 of its own citizens have been murdered in the last year, year and a half by the regime. In the UK, a nation now run by absolute clowns. Not all of them. Run by. Jack Grove is a journalist for the Times Higher Education. The Times Higher Education. And he had emailed a Cambridge professor named Jason Ardey about growing accusations that his academic record is plagiarized, filled with plagiarism, as a matter of fact. The evidence is grown to the point where Cambridge itself is investigating. whether much of what he's claimed about his academic background is in fact true and how much of it has been lifted from other sources reported by the telegraph he was the author the writer the journalist was contacted by the metropolitan police and told not to contact the professor again. He said to the police, do you know what I do for living? I'm a journalist. They said it doesn't matter. You need to stop because, and I'm quoting Mr. Grove.

The officers told me I shouldn't have contact with Professor Ardae again because his mental health had been affected by my actions. So they're telling reporters now, police aren't dealing with crime. They're dealing with mean things said or questions asked. The police are literally investigating and calling on, in this case, a reporter for asking a question about the academic record and accuracy of a professor who, oh, by the way, is far left. We've already chronicled the stories of people who are being arrested for things that they posted online because it upset people. We've already talked about people who have died handcuffed because they were considered the instigator when they were being stabbed by illegal immigrants in the UK who are protected by the British government. It's you would think I'm lying and making it all up. But I'm not. Unlike a lot of talk show hosts, he's admitted to be wrong. That's when he thought he was wrong, but in fact wasn't. I hate what I'm about to share. But the silver lining in this is that it's good news that people are waking up, even if this is wrong. Donald Trump endorsed Amir Hassan to be the congressional rep for the 8th District. He lost the primary. Trump's endorsement lost to a guy named Thomas Smith. who dropped out of the race weeks ago. Hassan got smoked 50.4% to 33.2. And here's the part that hurts. My man Amir loves Jesus. His family loves Jesus. His parents love Jesus. He served in the U.S. Navy. He works in the Department of Homeland Security. He is a good man. But because his name sounded Islamic, people, now remember, where are we? Michigan. What's happened to Michigan? It's become Islamified. And people in the 8th District, nay, nay, they don't want. So they chose Thomas Smith, who wasn't even in the race. I feel terrible for this guy. But this illustrates that people are now starting to get a little weird. And I don't blame them. On one hand, it's a good thing. But the fact that they judge the book by the cover, that's not so good. Steve Stewart joins me next on the morning show with Preston Scott.

Now, let's talk about something, though, that is on the website right now. Right. It'll be in the next paper, which we've got another paper. Quick turnaround next week. Okay. You are breaking down the ideology, the political leanings. from a, from a policy perspective of the city candidates. Yeah. So what's frustrating here and, you know, this goes back a long time. City commission, you know, covers a lot of Leon County, 200,000 important. It's an important body. We've talked about this. There's not a city in the state of Florida that has as much jurisdiction over utilities, police, airport. And without districts. And without districts. And so it's a nonpartisan board. Sure it is. So every year, you know, A local media outlet, you know, that has some, you know, declining subscriptions. Subscriptions publishes the political party affiliation of all the candidates. And so, you know, again, it gets, it's frustrating because it's they're publishing the partisan. registration of candidates running for nonpartisan offices in a community, which is 60, 70% Democrat, right? Yeah. And so now it's gotten to the point because Republicans can't get elected in the city because of the things we just talked about that when they publish this, all it is is they're all Democrats, basically. And so it doesn't really give the vote or anything. So I decided, look, if these guys can blatantly do this, then what we'll do is we're going to look at the ideology of the candidates because that is sort of what's starting to happen across the country is the Democratic Party is being split up into these ideological factions. It's splintering. It is. I mean, we saw this in the primaries on Tuesday night. Yeah. All right. Democratic Socialists of America.

A party club that is sort of taken over to the Democratic Party is having an impact. So what we did is if you go to our website, I've labeled this an opinion. Okay, so there'd be no argument from that perspective. And it's an ideological guide to the city town, Tallahassee, city commission Tallahassee candidates. And what we did is we went back and looked at statements in these forums. We looked at voting records. And we've divided them up into about four groups. And a couple of these things are pretty easy. The socialist group, there's two people there that are basically self-identified. Commissioner Matlow has embraced Mayor Zohran Mamdani and his elk. Would it be fair to say that Commissioner Matlow has really defined his ideology? Over the last eight years and what he said publicly in meetings and as a sitting commissioner. His position on law enforcement, his endorsement of candidates, his hiring of a campaign manager who has worked for Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. All that's there. Now, right now you're in this major, this campaign where he's trying to fool conservatives and the thinking that he's more focused on local politics, but he's not. And literally try to fool. Right. And so. He falls in that socialist category. Max Hurley has said in a forum that he belongs to the DSA. He's a registered Democrat, but he is a proud DSA member. So that's an easy one. The other two that are in this category, P.J. Perez is someone that was recruited by Commissioner Matlow to run for seat three. There's about six candidates in there. He won't talk to TR. He had the same campaign manager as Commissioner Matlow. Chris Estanga, who is a squarely fits in the Democratic Socialist category. And so I put him in that category. Dot M and Johnson. who is a liberal back when it was really, you know, she was far left. She has been basically standing next to Matlow the last two cycles. And so those are the four candidates that we've put in the socialist category. Matlow, Hurley, PJ Perez, and Dot Emond Johnson. All right. When we come back, we're going to cover the rest of the city races and give you an idea. Why just the city? Because they're the only ones that have competitive races that are going on. So we'll talk about that more next. Validating your feelings or perhaps helping you come to terms with the fact that you have been wrong for so much of your life. Going through all of the candidates and listing them by their ideology, by what they believe, what likely would come out from a policy perspective. Steve, continue. Okay, so the next category we have is liberal Democrats, and I think there's not a bigger example of that then. And this is not a negative thing. This is just, you know, she was in the legislature. Well, it is a negative thing, but to me, but it's descriptive. Yeah, Loran Ozley, who again, I have interviewed and talked to Pleasant. Pleasant person. Yeah, absolutely. Said that she would, you know, govern without ideology. And, you know, and so look, I mean, you know, we've had. So we'll see how that works. Yeah. So anyway, she leads that. She's a candidate for mayor. City Commission, C5. Tiffany Hill, some of these candidates who are just popped up, they have no voting history. You have to go by what they're saying in these forums. Tiffany Hill is former member of the U.S. military served the country. So I put her in the liberal category. Darrell Alfred, young guy, you know, liberal, progressive, I don't, you know, he seems to be pretty rational on some of the things he's talking about. Again, a new candidate. So I put him in the liberal category. And then Talithia Edwards, who has been a Democrat registered for a long time community activists on the south side. Her answers are again. seem to be rational, but leaning on the liberal side. Okay. The category liberal moderate, and I want to explain this category because there is... The two people in this category are Diane Williams Cox and Daryl Parks. Okay. Traditional liberal Democrats, but we have some history here with Diane Williams Cox over the last eight years. Her support for law enforcement, her votes on economic development. I think actually she and again, remember the, uh, remember the abortion, a symbolic vote. Yeah. That they did. She voted against that. Yeah. She said this is no place. to discuss this, you know, to decide this issue or a way in. She has always done a good job of defining what the city's focus should be and what it shouldn't be. So this is a perfect example. Loran Osley, who if she was elected mayor and then governed as Diane Williams-Cox, I would move her to this category. I don't have a history of that with Lorraine Osley. Right. So that's why. Daryl Parks, again, his answers on economic development. I think that we saw with the Niba Forum, and we can get into that at some other point, but he squarely separates himself from some of the other candidates on that issue. And again, the only Democrat to stand up against Commissioner Matlow and his tactics, actually defending conservatives when Matlow's campaign tried to create this Facebook account.

I mean, make it look like conservatives were attacking a black candidate, which I think is just horrible. He actually has stood up for that. And so I think that gets him, again, I think he understands the nonpartisan. component of this. And so that puts him in the liberal modic, liberal to moderate category. It would seem that Loran is relying on name recognition and Darrell is not doing enough to get his name out because every policy position statement he sent out from his campaign has been pretty solid. Yeah. And you know, a lot of times we don't see some of these things they're doing, you know, behind the scenes. These days, it used to be where you would blast this message. Yep. Now with social media, it's so focused you can reach the exact people that you need to reach. Maybe. We'll see. Yeah. And then moderate. Yeah. So this category is interesting because, again, there are very few, I mean, there's only one registered Republican running. And that's for mayor, Mike Faust, who has made a lot of waves in terms of his social media engagement, which has offended some, is enlightened others. We'll see what happens there. But the modic category, I've got three people, Michael Faust, Tom Dersopolsky, and Norm Roach. You know, I think that, again, based on what you're seeing here, I think all three of these candidates understand. the nonpartisan nature of the position. I would argue that Dersel Polsky and Norm Roach have the most command of the issues. And a further delineation here is I would argue that Norm Roach is probably the moderate to conservative choice. I've interviewed him. I've watched all of his forums. Not a lot of name ID. He's a former county commissioner from Pinellas County, so he knows how this works. But he is staked out some positions that no other candidates have. So I would give him a little bit of a tilt towards BOT or conservative. He's a registered in PA at this point. But look, we've got this article up. On the TR, it'll be in our newspaper going out on Monday. And this is, I think it's a fairly, I mean, it's a great guide. And you can actually, we'll have links that you can go if you want to dig further and look at my rationale for this. We'll be there. Good stuff. Steve Stewart with us. And you gave me some information that was just, I thought, remarkably important about teacher pay in Leon County. You know, this is, again, we talk about information and getting them to voters. And this is something that, you know, we really have got to start focusing on. And we're going to get back on it. I mean, I've gotten distracted on some other issues here. But. Look, we've got the latest numbers on teacher salaries from 25, 26. Yeah. And, you know, we rank 43rd. We just had a budget discussion where, you know, they basically said there's no more money for teacher salaries. And this is getting, look, we put together an index, which we're going to publish an economic index because there's a lot of debate going around in this community. There's some people trash in a local economy in a very extreme way. And clearly, every economy has challenges. But we put together an index. And Leon County, not surprisingly, ranks in the top 10 as a job creator based on salary wages. And it's not surprising that that happens because of state government. Yeah. The two universities. Health care. We've got Amazon, Amazon popped up here. And just a side thing on this, we've added about 17,000 jobs in the last six years. 16,000 private sector jobs. That blows people away when I say that. Yeah. And we're going to talk about this. So out of the 10 counties, the top 10 counties out of 67 counties, okay, that have this, you know, this positive job creator, where do you think we rank in that with teacher salaries in those 10 counties? I would get last. We rank 10th and it is not close. In other words, we've got this job economy here that is that is humming, you know, top 10 and we're not paying our teachers. Everybody else is. So does it, is it any wonder that we've had to have adopt this program so we can recruit international teachers that are getting subsidized from some NGO or, you know, world organization to come here and teach our kids? It is absolutely ridiculous. Steve, and again, it's just you can see, hear it in my voice. It's ridiculous. The district personnel, though, will say, see, that's why we need the property tax increase. But it's not about that. It's about the misallocation of the funds they have. Right. And they're hiding this and it's difficult to get to it. But here's, again, the example of why we should be paying our teachers more. You've got this economy. And so where is the money going? There's plenty of money. We've said it is an administrative cost. That's the point. And they just brush this off. Chairman Marcus Nicholas, who is, you know, who is, I think being less than honest about this is on record is saying, well, you know, the reason why we don't compare to other districts is because they subcontract out there, you know, some of their work. So it makes us look like we have more employees. That is, that's a total fallacy. You know, he's talking about food service and things like that.

We're talking about administrative positions. That's right. And so. And we're still talking about a bottom line dollar disbursement that cannot be hidden. Right. And so they're doing the rope of dope. They're trying to, you know, make this look like we've got to have this property tax. Now look, they've passed this budget. Alva Smith is on her last thread. She voted against it for one. We talked about that previously. It was only 4.1. And, you know, this is because they are not wanting to talk about exactly what they need to do. to get teacher salaries where they need to be. And it, again, looking at this board, this is malfeasance. It is, they are, they are what they are doing, this board, other than Alva Smith is accepting what these bureaucrats are telling them and they are not asking the proper questions. And I hold Dr. Nicholas, who doctor, okay, he is not. you know, challenged in terms of understanding these things. So it makes you wonder why he's not looking into it. He's a very bright guy. So what's up? Exactly. You take this and you say this in a forum and you can't even support it. And they won't support it and they won't discuss it at the meetings. And as much as Alva Smith has tried to get him to. And listen, we'll get back on it. But the rankings are, should be an embarrassment to this community. And it's important, friends, to know the difference between the two taxes you're going to be voting on locally in Leon County. One is a increase in the millage. The other is for infrastructure and a sales tax. The sales tax is fine. The increase in the millage is wrong. It's inappropriate and it's wasteful. Sucking money out of the local economy. The capital, the sales tax is a renewal. It's already in place. But the 25 million in property tax is until they come clean of where this money is being spent, I think. Got to say no. Yeah. And hopefully there's some business groups will come out and start asking questions. We'll see. Yeah. And friends, please keep in mind that we're all in favor of paying teachers more. Okay, I'm interrupting the big stories because we got a call from somebody who needed to remain anonymous who wanted some information or wanted to learn more about the tax issue with Leon County Schools.

And I recognize that for many of you that live outside Leon County, you don't care. But you should care because this is how school districts and counties and cities screw over people. And to say I am just, I'm brutally disappointed in our school board is the understatement of a lifetime. To say that I am brutally disappointed with Markets Nicholas. And here's the thing. When Marcus ran for office years ago, he sought my input. We talked. Interviewed him. And I warned him about the people that he associated with and took advice from and he did not listen. That's fine. He had no, you know, whatever. But my warnings have been proven true. And for whatever reason, the four members of the school board that agreed, you know, that voted along with him, three voted with him, they're all wrong. This community does not need a tax increase. We're not talking about the sales tax. It's already in place and it's a continuation to build schools and improve facilities and infrastructure. Those are smart things to do. Everyone pitches in on that one. What we're talking about is increasing your millage on your property.

and taking $25 million out and trying to say that, well, this is so that we can pay our teachers. And see, and here's what they'll do. See, Steve Stewart even said that our teachers aren't being paid enough. Yes, that's true. They aren't. Why? Because the school district hasn't done its job. Because it hasn't taken care of the money that the state has set aside to increase teacher pay. And part of that is the fault of the union. But what the school district has done is hired a gazillion administrators it does not need. And that's a documented, verifiable fact. Leon County Schools is wasting your money. And they're going to package this. Oh, we need to see, we love our teachers and we need to pay our teachers. And teachers, you're going to pay this tax too. And you need to say no to this because they are robbing you to pay people in the administrative offices. And they are paying way too many people in the administrative offices. The Leon County School District, administrative offices, is where bad principals go to earn a bigger living. It's where bad APs go. It's where people that retire keep working and making a little money. You know what I mean? Wink, wink, wink, nod. It's absurd. It's insulting and it's ridiculous. So to the caller, that's why you vote no on the tax. Because it is absolutely insulting. And to Dr. Nicholas, Marcus, you know better. You can try to say, well, you know, these other school districts are outsourcing. It doesn't matter if they're outsourcing. Look at the money spent on administration, however they do it, and however you do it. The facts are the facts. You're spending too much money, and you don't need to ask for more tax dollars until you show how you're spending it. How many positions, too many you have. Sorry, but that call kind of got under my skin a little bit. Not because I'm mad at the call. No, you need this information. Steve has the documents, the data. It doesn't lie. It comes from the state of Florida. It's there. Every school supplies it. It's just category after category. They're just wrong. Pause for thought next on the morning show with Preston Scott. But it's time to talk about our four-legged friends. It's time for pause for thought with Dr. Steve Stevenson of the Bradfordville Animal Hospital. Good morning, Dr. Stevenson. How are you, sir?

Hey, Preston. I'm doing great. How are you? I am doing well. You know, one of the things that makes me giggle sometimes is when I see people walking their pets, and I'm glad they're out walking with their dogs. And boy, there are a lot of fatty fat dogs out there. They're not walking. They're waddling, Dr. Steverson, they're waddling. Yeah. Well, you know, over 50, almost 60% of dogs and cats in our country are overweight. It's a big issue, and that does put all our pets at risk for a variety of health problems. You know, arthritis, you know, all these extra weight they're carrying around is hard on their joints. Right. Cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, inflammatory bowel diseases, thyroid problems, you know, all these things that we think of in people, same thing in pets. And so if we can maintain a healthy body weight for our pets, there are a greatly reduced risk for a lot of these health problems. I know it's hard for us, but the calorie restriction, you know, an exercise are the keys to preventing obesity in our pets. And, you know, if you're putting a bowl of food down and 24 hours later, there's still food in the bowl, some dogs and a lot of cats will eat until they're satisfied and walk away from the bowl. However, most of them will not. They'll eat everything you put in the bowl and more if you give it to them. And so their appetite is not a good judge of how many calories they should be taking in. You want to make sure you're giving them the right portion every day. So along those lines, healthy diets are important, so make sure to give you a good quality pet food, minimal snacks. Treats are like eating candy bars. Every treat you give is a few more calories, you know. So you've got to be careful having treats you're giving your pet. Okay, hang on. Are there treats that are okay for them to eat, that are healthy for them to eat? You know, the great treats to give a dog or a cat are vegetables. Green beans, small baby carrots, bell peppers. They all have like five calories or less per piece. Okay. So those given are a great treat. I recommend green beans a lot. You can go to the frozen food section at the grocery store, and you can get frozen cut green beans in a little plastic bag. And those frozen cut green beans are very crunchy and chewy. A lot of dogs like those because of that right out of the freezer. So that's a great option to give your pet that you can give them more of those because they're so very low in calories and they'll still feel satisfied because they're getting a treat and attention from you, but it's very low in calories. Tell me this. Is there a guide out there that someone can find, look up, or what have you, that would give them the ideal weight for their breed, their dog, their cat, whatever, age, etc.

Absolutely question. You can look that up online or talk to your veterinarian to get some formulas to calculate how many calories your pet should take. Okay. Now, that being said, just like people, that is just a starting point. Every dog or cat's metabolism is different. And so you have to, once you get that starting point calories to feed per day. You have to adjust up or down based on how your dog or cat is gaining or losing weight. Okay. So that's a very good starting point. Yeah, talk to your veterinarian, and you can Google online. There's a lot of sites online that have those formulas for you to figure out how many calories you should feed your dog or your cat. If your dog or cat is overweight, and I personally think it's kind of like you and me. People know. You just know. You know if your dog or cat's a fatty fat. The exercise component Do you start that gradually and easy like you would for a person? Absolutely, Preston. You know, take them for a walk. And if your pet hasn't exercised recently, you know, maybe go a five or ten minute walk the first time you go out. And then after that, build that up. You know, then you build up maybe 10% every day. And you can go up to, you know, a dog or cat that's healthy will go as far as you'll go. Okay. They're much more efficient with their mobility than we are. So they'll walk as far as you want to go once you get them to that level of fitness. So, yeah, start out very slow and gradual and build up to that. And always be aware of the heat. Yes. They don't handle heat as well as we do. So early morning right now, this time here is the best time to go. But it's great exercise, maintains muscle tone, burns more calories. So definitely reduces the risk of all these diseases we talked about. And I'll also remind something you've taught me over the years is if you happen to be doing the walk in the late afternoon, remember the heat of the pavement that you're walking on. If it's too hot for your bare feet, it's too hot for the pet. Exactly. That is definitely true, Preston. Steve, thanks so much. I appreciate the time, and we'll talk again in a couple weeks. Great. I told Jose, my lack of discipline in the last half hour cost me a proper and appropriate setup to this phone segment. The question is a result of a conversation with the lead research assistant of the radio program who simply asked this question. What are the people of Dearborn Michigan supposed to do? Their community is being taken over by Islamists. City officials probably are some of them. And they're bending a knee. And this is happening in other cities across the country. They're literally taking a knee to Islam. They're saying, oh, yes, the calls to prayer, the siren sounds and all of that stuff publicly on speakers is fine. We're proud to have you. What? So I'm asking you, what is to be done about the problem? Because it is a problem. The second part of this question is, how do we stop the spread of socialism in this country? The legal minds that I've talked to are split. Some say there are constitutional provisions to keep socialism and communism out of government, to keep them from being elected. Okay. Others say no. There is no such thing. You can only deal with the conduct, with actions. You can't stop them from being elected. You can stop them once they take action. I would simply say that once they take action, is it too late? Ask New York City. So I'm now asking you, what would you do? What would you do? What would you say? It's 850-205 WFLA. We have to have an idea of how to counter this. Now, some might say, well, the counter for the Islamic problem is simply for Christians in this nation. to stand up and act like Christians. It's not about getting into fights. It's about pointing out the reality of the gospel of Jesus Christ and living like it. But you cannot ignore this threat. You will do so at your peril. You can look at other parts of the world and see it happening. And I recognize that this is really touchy for some of you. Some may not, I mean, I've, Preston, you really, you've got to be careful talking about that. No, I don't. I played a debate, Oxford Union. The guy said, I'm going to show a cartoon of Muhammad because if I don't, I'm going to be. bowing a knee I will be conceding to Islam because Islam doesn't like it oh well and the point that I want to make is that Islam is different than every other religion I said this last hour I've studied it friends I'm sorry if you haven't you need to

You need to know of its origins. You need to know what Muhammad wrote, who he was, by his own word. You can even skip the contemporary accounts of his life and who he was and the historical record. You can just read his own words and his own description of himself. And you need to understand that in Islam you either convert. You pay a tribute to live or you die. There's no other faith in the world that operates like this. None. It operates causing fear. Well, God hasn't given me a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind. And my sound mind tells me, This is something that we better be prepared to address. And so I'm raising the question. And I'll wait it out. We got Tim standing by. What about you? 850-205 WFLA. Tim, thanks for calling. Good morning. I've been thinking about this. I'm going to show my age, but back in the 60s, I think Florida had a rule that you had to teach a course on communism in high school. in order to graduate. My wife was a teacher back in their 70s, they're 60s, and she remembers that too. And I think that's part of the problem. These people, they don't know what this is and what the problems are. I mean, you hear somebody like the president or any number of elected officials, oh, well, it's never worked. Well, they can't seem to get that in their mind. It has never worked anywhere. The second part, I would say that after listening to some more of what you were saying, when I went into the Army, I took an oath to defend the Constitution. There are some groups that I don't know if they're not taking this oath or they're not upholding it, but we should emphasize that more, that we do take an oath, and it's not just in the military, but others do too. Elected officials are supposed to take an oath to defend the Constitution, not tear apart. I guess that's my thoughts. Thank you, Tim. I appreciate you calling. I think that federal officials take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution. I don't know that state and local officials do. Additionally, we talked with John Stemberger last week, and John said the Constitution forbids prohibiting somebody from running for office because of their ideology. What it does prohibit is conduct. that is in opposition to the Constitution. And so it's as if you have to wait until someone does, says, rules, votes. I don't know. I mean, the conduct part, though, is the provision that apparently is available to us. But thanks very much. We're getting your thoughts. I welcome more callers. Josh is standing by. Well, I can tell you that if I was living in a city where the call of prayer was going out over loudspeakers that I didn't have a choice in, I'd be attending every city council meeting and explaining to people that this is more of a technology problem than it is of a religious problem. We are now living in 2026 where my 10-year-old can literally create an app. for people to download. These people, part of their religion, is they need to alert their followers that it's time to pray. I understand that. Don't put it out over loudspeakers for every swinging...

Henry to hear, you need to create something, a phone tree, or even an act for your phone. So if you follow that religion, you can sign up for a lot. And the app will alert you that it's time to pray. And here's a nice prayer song that can start your morning or your afternoon or your evening. Thanks very much, Josh. It's a bit of a slippery slope. As I discussed that very issue with somebody the other day. And I reminded them, well, what do you do then about the complaint about the church bells that ring marking 12 o'clock? And 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock. You get my point. What about that church bell? What's the difference? And I, you know, you could argue, well, that church bell is not calling people to prayer. Well, maybe you could argue that. And that is a call to, you know, that annoying, ridiculous mind-splitting sound is a call to prayer and ergo cannot be forced on, I don't know. I don't know. I guess that's something that has to be explored.

What is the nation? What are you going to do? Does this sharpen your Christian faith? Does this sharpen your apologetic? Does this sharpen? To Tim's point, does this sharpen your knowledge of American history? And the knowledge of the founding of this nation? And do we need to say, you know what? He's got a point. We need to go back and teach about socialism, communism, in schools and show them why it's faulty. Man, sign me up for that one. I think a semester course on that is worth considering. We have to do something. We have to respond, not react. We have to respond to this threat. There are two of them. There's two beachheads here. You're welcome the way in 850-205 WFLA. Thanks for calling in. Yeah, Preston. I went to high school here in Tallahassee. I went to Gobie High School in the 70s and graduated. And there was a course that was required to take into 10th grade. You had to, it was called Americanism versus communism. Really? Everybody had to take it. Okay. ABC for short. And, uh... Did it, did it? Anyway, that gave you the huge differences between, um... democracy and communism and laid it all out for you. And it was only a semester course. Right. That would make sense. Do you remember you and your classmates talking about it? Did it impact you? Oh, yeah. I've always been a patriot ever since a young age. Yeah. So, I mean, but there was like three teachers that taught that because, I mean, every 10th grader had to take it.

So you either took it first semester or second semester or whatever. Fair enough. We got to bring it back. I'm going to. Of course. And if they still required that, there would be a whole lot of different opinions. I love the, listen, we're formulating an idea here. And listen, your calls are making a difference because guess what? We're going to have Dr. Henry Mack back on this program. He is the new commissioner of education for the state of Florida. This could actually happen. We could actually bring this up as a new requirement that the legislature puts in place for our students. Larry, what do you think? Well, I was calling in... I went to high school in Hillsborough County, 1970, and we had a course, which we took our senior year, and it was a semester, and it was called Problems of American Democracy, and you had to take that course to graduate. Problems with American democracy? Yeah, and they discussed all that. It was called PAD. Okay. And socialism and communism was part of that? Yes. Hey Preston. In 1969, I was a senior at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. We had to take a semester course called Americanism versus communism. And it was my senior year, not my 10th grade year. And I think it made a big difference that talked about dupes and fellow travelers. and taught all the ploys of what communism did to get a foothold in Russia and that kind of stuff. Was it a requirement? It was a good course. Was it a requirement? Yes, absolutely. Oh, yeah. And you'd be in favor of seeing something like that come back again? Yeah, you bet your boots. Yeah, yeah. They're going to vote on holding Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress, and they need to. If you're covered by blanket immunity, a pardon. You should have no reason to answer questions about anything that happens within that span of time, which was, by the way, back to 2014. Isn't that interesting? Let me, I've not, I've not said this before. The only reason. The staff of Joe Biden, because Joe didn't have a freaking flipping clue what he was signing. The only reason why that would go back to 2014 when most people in the world had never heard of him until the scamdemic. You didn't know who Anthony Fauci was. You had no idea who he was. The only reason it goes back there is if there's something there to hide. And the staff of Biden knew it, and they knew it because Anthony Fauci knew it. And Anthony Fauci told him. I'm not asking for a pardon, because obviously I didn't do anything wrong. But if, say, you were to think about offering a pardon, I'm just saying you might go back to, oh, I don't know, 2014. I'm not saying I did anything wrong, but if I had, it might have been back then. I'm just saying if you're going to dangle a pardon out there. Would you mind dangling back to 2014? They need to hold this man in contempt of Congress. And he needs to then be facing some form of lockup for that. There needs to be accountability for what happened during COVID. To that end. Our guest on Monday during this hour of the program, James Uthmeier, State Attorney General, has subpoenaed Dr. Anthony Fauci. And I'll make a long story short.

We issued a formal subpoena to Dr. Anthony Fauci under Florida state law. We're really focused on his self-dealing. What he did could in fact violate Florida laws on deceptive trade practices, fraud, and public nuisance. So maybe, and I'm not saying this, to throw shade at Glenn Beck. But Glenn did a very lengthy and I thought really good breakdown of why state charges would be, to paraphrase, impossible. I shared that. I thought it was an interesting breakdown that Glenn's staff must have done or some legal minds that they called on or whatever that offered that to Glenn. But maybe they missed some things. And maybe there is room in state law. So the subpoena has been delivered. This is going to get interesting. So the vote is coming up. Democrats are talking right now in the Senate Committee, Homeland Security Committee, yawn. And so tomorrow we'll have that to talk about. We'll see what the vote is. 41 minutes past the hour. How does he lose with a message that drills down even deeper on buying American? It helps the mom and pop shops of... Democrats, Republicans, independents. Remember, capitalism is what's propping up the Chinese and Russian government. They've embraced a form of capitalism. It's the only way they have money. That's why you got KFC and McDonald's and Papa Johns and Pizza Hut or whatever in these countries is because it's capitalism and it makes money. And what we need to be doing is we need to be doing a messaging campaign to America that says you may pay a little bit more at the grocery store and I know that's a tough message in these times, but we need to buy American. And here's what we're doing. And prop up, Cisco, for doing the right thing. First of all, they're doing it for health reasons. Okay, fair enough. But what an idea. You'll spend a quarter more per head of lettuce. Okay, sign me up. No, really, sign me up. If my grocery bill goes up, 10 or 15 bucks per trip and I buy American and I'm not lighting the pockets of a country that basically hates us. Cool. Let's do it. We'll ship them our leftovers. That's fine. But that's the message to me that I think needs to come out of that Cisco story. Buy an American. Buy American.
