Will Mike Rogers Debate Abdul El-Sayed?
Transcript
107 segmentsTom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. All right, it is Dom time. Welcome in. I got to say, this guy in Michigan is the gift for talk radio. I hate to be that crass about it, but my goodness. So the winner, the DSA, anti-Semite, anti-Israel guy, saying, you can't use his full name. Keep the name out of your damn mouth. You can't say the full name. The first name is Abdul. Well, that's his first name. We're not supposed to say that. And, of course, the media jumping in, Barack Hussein Obama. The Mr. El Zaid, immigrant or the parents emigrate, I'm not sure what the full status is there on that. Saying that this is a tactic using the full name. It's used to say the full name is not the reason you can't afford your groceries, gas prices. It's your policies. That's the best you got. You can't actually talk about what we want to do. Well, on that, I have an agreement with him. But I think I would call him Abdul during the debate. That's his name. Change your name then. We can't say your name Abdul here while also debating you. So, again, what's the evidence? He went on to say, this is just a ploy to say, I hate America. Will you do? Anybody that parades around and even against the wishes of Democrat strategists on Monday, right before the big vote, has a lavish pool party with Hasan Piker, does hate America. There is no doubts. He's arguably the premier, he's arguably the premier hater of America, Hasan Piker. And of course, his hatred of Jews and Israel is world class. A guy who said, we deserved what happened on 9-11. Right there, you don't need anything more. That's the evidence. And this guy knows that, knows what Pikers about. I don't need to comb through thousands of tweets. and things that he said, and there's enough there with that. Using the vehicle of Hasan Piker, as Chris Rab did right here in Philadelphia, once you do that, that's what you are. You're a hater of America. And it's surprising, well, maybe not, this weird thing where in Ilhan Omar rescued from refugee camps from her native country. And a guy like this that we see this evidence that is clearly anti-American. And Hasan Piker is the biggest thing I would bring up. And Mike Rogers ought to talk about this. Of course, the deflection will be, you don't want to talk about gas pricing. You know what? We're going to talk about everything, buddy. But I got to say, Mike Rogers, not jumping into the ring on this. leaves me just speechless almost. Here's the perfect plan. This guy's out there already, five debates. Let's do it. You ought to try to engage him right now. That's the play. But Hasan Piker is beyond anti-American. And consorting with him and using with him.
That brands you as exactly that. Now, one other thing. There's a big hearing this afternoon on the Muslim Brotherhood. What a day to happen. Republicans in the Senate. Five Democrats, at least according to Fox, are boycotting. They won't go there for the hearing because all this does, they say, is an attempt to attack Muslims. All right. The Muslim Brotherhood. How many times, I'm not going to go through all the minutia on this. Why would there be a hearing on that? What kinds of things will come out? Well, any number of things will come out about their 100-year plan here in America, et cetera. Democrats sort of go to the hearing. They can call Republicans out on that. They can make their points pushing back on this. Just like they boycott it this morning, the JD Vance hearing. on anti-fraud and the $250 billion at least guesstim, I think it's higher than that, seeing what goes on here in Philadelphia of fraudulent activities that are involved with progressives in cities like Philadelphia, California, Minnesota that we've seen. It is enormous. All right, phone lines are 855-839-1210. But we shouldn't be afraid to criticize guys like Mike Rogers when this guy calls you out in this. Tell me what is the, what is the issue? You should be waiting for this. You ought to be dressed and say, he just said, what? Yeah, let's go. And I have to say this for this candidate. I think he would debate right there. If he didn't, oh well, if he did. We're going to find out, can he withstand this? Yes or no? I mean, if you can't debate a guy who crawls at this level with every aspect that we talk about almost every day in talk radio, then I'm looking at him hugging Hasan Piker as he comes in. I mean, then you don't deserve to be the candidates. Just think what any number of candidates on the Republican side would do if offered this opportunity. And the Muslim Brotherhood thing, we'll bring you some sound from it tomorrow. It's an obvious thing. Democrats don't want to hear it because they don't want to be drawn into defending the indefensible. All right, phone lines are 855, 8, 3, 9, 12, 10. You get a line, AT&T, and Verizon Wireless. All you have to do is just push pound 1210. And we'll get you going. Something associated big time with the 1980s. We have the 1980s in the crosshairs today, so to speak, because MTV in the last couple of days started about 45 years ago. Big, big element of the 1980s. We also still see. Let's play. Henry. You made a great point, though. This is getting underplayed. It's the number one tennis player in the world, who really is a straight shooter, even when she's playing, she's kind of annoying, asked about the requirements now in tennis or biological males are out, essentially, their testing program, and why she thinks.
It's an obvious thing, no matter how you screen for testosterone, whatever you do. There's going to be an advantage, even in something like tennis, and it's not just power. It's the speed of the game. It's just any number of things that are baked in. Tell me a setup to this. What? So Arena Sibelankan, who is the number one player in the world on the women's side? Yeah. Yeah, she's at a press conference at the latest tournament. And, yeah, a reporter simply asks you the question, like, do you support this? Are you for this? Are you against it? And here's what she said. Hi, the WTA recently announced that, you know, the players will take a one-time gender test. Yeah. How do you feel about that? The first pro league to go in that direction? I think it's really important to keep the fairness in our tour, and it's obviously the biologically, right? The men are way strong in the women, so I feel like it would be not really fair for the woman to compete against biological men. So... I believe it took them a little while to make the decision and yeah I support it but for me I'm focusing on myself on my goals you know whatever it takes if they want to test us all I'm happy to do that it's pretty fair and let's keep it that way thank you All right. Now, the added burden she has here, the added thing I would say is they're actually testing, which brings up the, oh, man, this is invasive, even though I don't think it is. It's something that will rule this out, but it is something rather than just saying you don't want men and women's sports. You're backing up their pursuit, but they're the body that's doing this. And all you're saying is, yeah. I'll be tested. What's a big deal? Now, your theory, though, and I think it's accurate, she's taking some flag. She's not a major American player. Correct. She's one of the Eastern European countries. Yeah, Belarus. Belarus. And even though she's a number one player, I don't, and I've seen her, I don't think. It's a woman tennis player that people automatically, Americans at least, would name, right? Yeah, I was thinking about this actually earlier today. Like, I don't know how many, like, casual, like, fans of the, well, I guess not at the sport, just casual fans could name women's tennis players, really. Right. And if the new arena, it was the number one tennis player at all. So, like, it would really take a huge star to come out and say something. A huge American star, I should give a caveat to. A huge American star to come out and say something in order for it to get any real traction, any real buzz in the media, I'll say. And I noticed, you know what, media bias, this is like Jezebel. They try to do the same thing to Riley Gaines. You want to take on Sophie Cunningham. You don't have to say she's a backup. We know she's not a major player. All stipulate she throws in a three-pointer once in a while, maybe decent defensively.
Immediately, that's where they go. With Riley Gaines, we know where she finished in the race and couldn't get a trophy, but she did beat Leah Thomas in one of the events. But immediately, that's what we sig on. We're trying to degrade women that she's not an overwhelming star. All stipulated, we know that. Let's have the debate. Should anybody had to compete against Leah Thomas? Obviously not in this situation. So we are seeing people dipping their toe into the water. But again, any major, if we can name the top 10 female athletes currently, even if they're not playing, they get endorsements, whatever. They realize what would happen. Could you cancel the Venus Williams? I don't think you could cancel. Or Serena. No. They might lose, well, I don't know. You pull an endorsement from Serena Williams and she comes back and said this is racist or implies or something like that. there's some power here that's associated with this. So why won't they do it? Because, you know, there's no pressure on them. There's no gain here, even though this is such and obvious things. I don't know in tennis, when they test, are they going to find anybody is formally a biological male or not? I don't have any sense or is anybody. I don't think so now. Yeah, now. So in golf, there was one person. They didn't make it to the PGA tour. So it's not something and nobody's going to, well, we'll see, be out at the WMBA that I know of at this point. I don't think there's any rumor. We'll see. All right. So here's how you get in. 855, 839, 1210. This Michigan candidate, though, is gone right down Broadway. As I said, You're not allowed to call him Abdul, the first name. He's challenged the Republican to five debates straight up. That's good. If you don't want to have the debate and go, oh, man, uh-oh, if we lose in this, well, then you shouldn't be in the race. If you can't take apart Hasan Piker right there, looking this guy in the eye, and bringing up consorting with, now he'll say, well, you consort with President Trump. As much baggage as they might think there is on President Trump, if you can't take apart Hasan Piker and that baggage, then you really shouldn't be running in this race. We need somebody better. All right, 855839, 12, 10, and right now it is time for... It's Dobbs, Money Melody. That is right. We are playing today for a four pack of tickets to see the Reading Phillies versus the Chesapeake Bay Sox at First Energy Stadium in Reading, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 16th for tickets visit.
Reading Phillies.com. All right, Henry, what do you have? Yeah, Dom. So, we're talking about, you know, things that define the 80s. And like Mike in Philadelphia said earlier in the show, one of the things that defined the 80s was the performance at Live Aid. And obviously, one of the most iconic performances from that spectacle was one of Queen. So I'm going to play you a Queen song today. I want to know the cover artist. who is doing it. Something about this cover artist. I've used them before, so I'm trying not to overlap in clues too much. But the band originally formed back in September of 96, which happened to coincide with a certain day of summer vacation. Now, this day of summer vacation is the name. The band took it. The band has a numerical name and it took this numbered day of summer vacation and made it their band name way back in 1996 when the lead man was only 16 years old. So he was enjoying a summer vacation for sure and it has stuck ever since. And their debut album in 2001 went platinum in multiple, multiple countries, launching them as a superstar band with a pension for destruction. Their record label encouraged them to be a destructive band in order to generate more sales and things like that. And as a matter of fact, they got so big that he, the lead singer, actually ended up marrying a pop punk princess. So I want to know the name of this band with a numerical name covering Queens Killer Queen. Let's take a listen. 2000s band from Canada with a numerical name. Want to know who they are. All right. Hit us with that at 855-839-1210. AT&T and Verizon Wireless. All you have to do is push pound 1210. We'll get you off to the Redding Phillies. By the way. JD Vance, we told you had that anti-fraud hearing today, the big story yesterday here in Philadelphia, calling upon Congress to codify the Trump administration's anti-fraud actions. We had on Dave Sunday talking about how difficult it is, how many people are involved in all this Medicaid stuff, and why there has to be oversight. That is clearer maybe than what we've seen play out here. Dr. Oz talked about that. All right, get him right now at 855, 839, 1210. Tom, Giordano, on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. It's Dom, Money Melody. That is exactly right. Four pack of tickets to your Reading Phil's. Here's today's clue. Who is this Canadian band covering Queen? Let's go to Jeff in Philly. Hi, Jeff. What's your answer? Hey, guys. My answer is thumb 41. Nice and done.
All right, nicely done. Any more on that, Henry? No, it's funny. I've used them as a band before, but I didn't want to use the hint I used last time where they got in trouble in Africa and had to be saved by a UN soldier named Chuck. I don't know if you remember that one. I seem to remember it. Yeah, you had a few. You couldn't believe that one. Yeah, exactly. You got in the middle of a conflict and had to be saved. But I didn't want to use that one, so I had to get creative with my sum 41 facts. All right, Jeff's a big winner today. We'll do it tomorrow again every day around 213, 214 for a great prize. Henry cooked something up, and you have a chance and added bonus to win. All right, we've been talking about Abdul, the candidate in Michigan. Take that name out of your mouth. Mike Rogers, you know, I feel like saying, well, Mike Rogers is not debating you. Come on. We'll give you three hours. Let's have the debate. No bathroom breaks, no commercial breaks. Uh-oh. That might be problematic. One giant sponsor that says that. Yeah, they just have to read it like once an hour or something. Yeah, something that makes you, you know, you have a podium. Just put the bottle in there and both males. You can go. No females involved. The Rand Paul solution. That's what you can do. So Mike Rogers has not answered on that, but he had ready to go, the Republican candidate, former congressman, this ad about 9-11 and about this guy as a hater of America and what Rogers thinks of 9-11. All good, Mike, but you can't tell me that you get it. And you're going to let this guy say, yeah, maybe I'll debate you a couple times. Here's his ad. Only thing he said, we got him. That's all he said on the film. We got him. Leon Panetta at that time was the CIA director, and he calls down and said there's some things we want to share with you. They had a mock-up of exactly where he was in his facility. So they had spent months working on all of this months, if not years. So we went through the process, and then we went through the pictures, and do you think that's Osama bin Laden or not? Remember, they weren't clear. At that time, you know, you look at it and you go, okay, his gait is the same. I mean, it was pretty detailed discussions about every aspect of it because he had a pattern that he would go out walking about the same time every day in this yard because he was cooped up too. Remember, the whole world was looking for him. I mean, I came away from the conclusion and listened to her briefing, and I thought, yeah, that's absolutely him. And then we just watched as the acuity got better and better and better and better, better, better. And then, you know, the director came down and said, we're going to move on this. All right. I'm sorry. Is there more? I'm sorry to cut that as opposed. Okay. So Rogers making the point that he was in on this. He was in the Intelligence Committee. He's that type of guy. What 9-11 means to him getting Bin Laden there versus this guy. Okay. I get it. I just think this campaign.
is a little bit not direct enough, you know, contrasting that. You've got to just call this guy out to your face, and you've got to go with Hasan Piker. You've got to go Hater of America, and you've got to say his full name. I wouldn't just say, Abdul. Say the whole thing. That's your name. All right, Colin Rogers out today. Let's have five debates. We're waiting to see his response. No response to this. You know, we can't, this guy's whole thing here is. These guys on the other side are just corporate America. Their campaign is that they don't want to have a brawl over America. So I just think it's a little bit off the point of Rogers calling up Bin Laden, being involved in that, how meaningful it is to him. That's all good. Am I wrong, though, that this ought to be face to face? Do you want to get it on with these creeps? Every one of them, DSA up and down, they're haters of America, their platform is hatred of America. It's bizarre, too. We could bring Chris Rabin right now, but you don't have 30 minutes. Anytime you want to come in. Come on in, Chris. You're traveling around the country. Come out of Mount Airy. Come on here, and we'll debate exactly what you're about. what this whole nonsense is about, the hatred of Israel, of Jews, Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump, and of America. When you're consorting with Hasan Piker, I can't think of a more prominent odious figure than that. You really have to go pretty far, and this guy has been bathing in Hassan Pikerisms for the last couple months. So he wants to debate you. Isn't the move to show up there and debate them right now? Well, that's not Mike Rogers' skill. Here's the opportunity. I get the ad. He's trying to portray in this ad that he was intimately involved. Thank God we got Bin Laden. What would Elsa Eid say about getting bin Laden? I get it. But I just believe are we cowering here? Is there a message so strong we're afraid? that they'll say, well, you are just corporate chills. We're with the people. Is that what the fear is here? This guy is itching to be the guy that you take on. I don't understand. I mean, I've seen the type of campaign. He's articulate enough. But there's a lot of baggage here. Is that the way we should approach? Oh, come on, Tom. We're going to have the Air Wars here. We're going to subtly, you don't get subtly. Now, this demands a direct response. This is not an ordinary political campaign. This is taking on people among us that hate America. They don't buy the premise of America. It's not just the Senate or anything else. They don't buy our history. They're in denial about all of it. And they want to destroy it and come up with something that's never worked anywhere in the world. By the way, This morning, I think it was Wall Street Journal, had a column about Marx and Engels. And how, I think Marx was only 29 when he wrote the Common Manifesto. And Engels was only 27. Both of them were able to do all this stuff and get drunk constantly because their daddies backed them, one owned a textile plan. I think that was Engels.
And Marx's father had a lot of holdings too. In other words, two rich guys sitting around inspiring a lot of this nonsense. They didn't go to class. They just saw it as where they're hanging out, kind of, is the bio. That's what it was about. One was only 29, the other 27, when they collaborated on something that has resulted in what? Is it an exaggeration to say a half a billion deaths, a billion deaths around the world and counting? And right here in Michigan. Mike Rogers, accept, show up right now. Tell them you'll debate them right there. Have a guy bring your podium with you. All right, 855, 839, 12, 10. That's how you can get in more of your calls and hit us with something. I see some good ones here. Something associated with the 80s MTV major figure 45 years ago. It started. Hey, for more than 40 years. Wow. I didn't know what that's right. All right, it is Dom time. Coming to your calls. I really like this story I just saw because it's South Philly, it's neighborhoods, and it's doing something. Porch pirates around third in Montrose, Moia Mencing or so. A guy had the idea, too many thefts, et cetera. What are you going to do? I posted some signs and some light poles around the little street with a QR code. The response was pretty quick.
Within a week or two, we had 20 or 30 people in the group chat. Instead of scheduling deliveries around when they're home or risking getting stolen, residents on the block hit the group chat and other neighbors hold their packages until they can be picked up. They said the group chat also brought the block closer together, et cetera. Now, there's a lot of trust. There's a lot of stuff going on there to have it work. But back in the day in South Philly, the same thing with put a QR code up there, saves these. against these socialists who come in and don't want to dig out anything, then take your spot, Montrose Street. I like this, though, that it's worked there. And South Philly, man, some of those small streets, you would never dare do anything. What are you doing there? You know, there'd be a mob out there inside of 30 seconds. Nick's roast beef, they'd come out of the doors with the roast beef sandwiches. They're chasing you down. So way to go. I think it's third of Montrose, Moyamensing, KYW reports. It's nice to know that it only takes a band of porch pirates to bring the neighborhood together. At least it's something, yeah. Yeah, exactly. Well, I've talked about it before. I feel like there is a lack of sense of community in a lot of neighborhoods, and not even just in Philadelphia, just in the surrounding area. Oh, yeah, without a doubt. Nobody knows each other anymore. No one says, hey or whatever. Yeah, and South Philly is still trying to maintain. some of that it was quintessential at one point but let us know if something like that goes on it would that work in your neighborhood but people know each other enough group chat they just cook this up on the fly and they're able to do it uh it's uh drew on talk radio 1210 in upper derby hey drew hey dom thank you i appreciate it you know dumb this this guy where he doesn't want his name used abdula Absolutely. It's almost, he's making it obvious that, like, that, like, what's he trying to hide? He's acknowledging that, that the vast amount, the vast majority of the American people. They might not be ready for this Islamic thing in politics yet. Like, why not just say his name? He's admitting it. They don't want to hear it. So it's like if you're Jeffrey Dahmer's brother and you don't want anyone to know that you're, you're his brother. You know what I mean? I don't understand it. Or the classic Seinfeld when Elaine's boyfriend.
had the name called out. They were going to change the name. Joel Ripton. Joel Ripton and Stewart, the little Stewart's going shopping with his mommy. But you know what, Drew? I got to tell you, though, and Leslie, I'm going after me on Twitter. Oh, no, no, no. Just let these DSA types play it out. That's not my style. Mike Rogers ought to accept right now there's five debates. Come on. Absolutely. Absolutely. It's a sign of weakness. And what you spoke about yesterday would be how the Republicans have to hammer it home with the fraud that's going on, just like with Social Security, when people who are 130 years old, like they're still getting checks. If they saturate the mail come like the midterms that have TV ads all over the place. If that's what it takes, you know, they have to hammer it home. You're right, Don't. And this is just amazing because we know the names of these people. We hold the whole company. You heard Sunday today. And she did it 1100 times more than 24 hours. Put that up there. Just have it rolling out 1100 times working more than 24 hours. It doesn't get any easier. I agree. It's so obvious. And the American people, man, if they're not catching on to it yet, but we are, I mean, I'm sure that. But on my side answer, Dom, the space shuttle program, the very first flight, I believe, was the Columbia in August of 81. And I think... Five of them were manufactured, the endeavor, the Atlantis, the Challenger. Anyway, in five short years, our space dominance, we showed the world how dominant we are with the technology and the space program. And then that fateful day in February of 1986, how we went from being so high. They're so low after the disaster of the Challenger. That's a good one. Thank you, Drew. Bill and Bucks on Talk Radio 12th, 10 afternoon, Bill. Hi there, Dom. I just wanted to mention, I'll be going up to the Bucks Board of Elections one day next week or this week to see what the purging was, the place in the PA with Al Schmidt and so forth and so on. Oh, well, very good. Remember, the inquire says it's a phony issue. We shouldn't use purging. It's just business as usual. Why did they allow over 30,000 to build up until Scott Presler and people like you started looking at the records? Great, great. And I did meet, Scott President, about two years ago. Okay. Up there, and he was up at the Bucks County Board of Elections. Anyway, I'll check that out. And we'll see what the changes are, what they may be. What's the side, Bill? Well, my high question is, you know, video killed the radio star, but, you know, you're on YouTube, so you're the video star too now. So, but anyway, back in 1984, there's this,
Federal Communications Commission, they eliminated restrictions on commercial air time length, allowing long-form programming, and thereby spawning the bunch of entertaining fishmen, pitchmen with Vitamix, the slicer, Dicer, Ron Pepepeel, chef Lagosie, George Foreman Grill, the infomercial. That's a great one. I vote for Ron Poppeel, though, is the best. spraying that on the top of your head and you have hair. Then you go outside and let's check the weather. Oh, yeah. That was great. The fisherman in a pocket or something too. There was a whole. And the woman, Susan Powder, I think, whatever happened to, stop the insanity. That was a weight loss type of boot camp, I think. Yeah. And Jim Ponder. You have a favorite? The oxy clean guy, I think, too. Billy Mays here with a fantastic new product. I don't think I've ever done a full out infomercial. I've done stuff that was product sensitive like that. But he's right, a half hour of that. Oh, my God. Okay. On deck circle, some of the heavy hitters hit us with that all-time association person placer thing with the 80s to celebrate sort of 45 years of MTV. And is Leslie right on Twitter? And look, I love Leslie. Well, give this guy, let it play out, how bad this is and all that. No, no, no, no, no. If we really believe this is so... ingrained to be beaten, except those five. And also say, let's start it right now. Let's have a, you know, like the way in, show up with the belt or something. You know, the wayans get nuts. Joe Frazier and Mohammed Ali. When Ali called Frazier ignorant for some reason, that set them off. And Howard CoSell's toupee got knocked the skew. It was quite a scene. Come on, Mike Rogers, 855-839, 1210. Tom Chiodano, on Talk Radio 1210, WPHPHT. The time has come for the final test. We usually call us the lightning round. Wow, tomorrow, other than JD Vance, he hasn't called yet. We'll have a cabinet meeting on the Dom show. The Interior Secretary Bergam will ask about the reflection pool. And the person I've been trying to get on for years, Linda McMahon. My lead question can't be about wrestling, right? Oh, come on now. I've got to work some of that in there. Do you have the headlock, Linda? That's going to be a lot of questions on Twitter. Yeah, no, the Department of Education, have they defanged it, school choice, both they're going to be in Pennsylvania, and they call up Henry. E.J. and Tony called him and said, what the hell? Why am I not on? We told E.J. and Tony, get over here, chop, chop right now.
You take a helicopter ride to get in here. All right. So big show tomorrow already with those two. A lot to report on. Let's go to Michael in Wilmington on Talk Radio 1210. Michael afternoon. Hey, Dom, my good sir, good afternoon to you, and to Kirk and Henry. I appreciate you always taking my phone call, so just want to get right to it. Let me take your brain here just real quick, though. Do you agree with Leslie? Let them hang themselves, play it out, and all that. Or Mike Rogers ought to be running right over there with his own podium. Let's debate one right now, buddy. I say I take the Mike Rogers way. Get right in the podium and let's start debating right away as fast as possible. Let's just get it on. Round one, round two, just keep it going. Yeah, I can imagine this Abdul guy, you know, after he throws that out, if Rogers actually was anywhere near there, I move heaven and nerve to get there, I got to tell you, you throw something like that, you're thinking, ah, nothing will happen. Bang, the guy's there. It might be a little tricky. And I would have Mike Tyson as my aide to camp walking with me up to the podium. I'm just saying, yeah. Yeah, I have Mike Tyson and then put over your head, just cut out a towel and put over your head like Mike Tyson. There you go, yeah. So, Dom, get to my side here, really iconic in the 80s. Part of me, I think everyone just grown up, was the Nintendo game system. I mean, how iconic Nintendo revived the whole video game industry. And you had some of the most famous games, especially the Mario Brothers, Zelda, Techno Bowl. And that just spurred on the whole 80s where everyone was getting the NES and the Nintendo gaming system. So iconic with the 80s that system. Very good one. Joe of X-in, this is off the brand. When he goes off the brand, I love it, I think it's off the brand. I don't see anything classical here. Joe, have you seen the honesty yet? We're waiting for your review. No, I haven't. All right, we've got to get it on HBO or something before. Joe, what do you have to do that? But anyway, Dom. Yes. Side answer, the 1980s. saw the resurgence of Philadelphia South Street, characterized by various shops and restaurants with the TLA Cinema as the focal point on the street where all the hippies meet. Very nice, yeah. TLA, big time. The midnight show, I guess, on Fridays, maybe. Joe of Xton down there on South Street. J.B. in Southampton. Hey, J.B., what's yours? Well, I'm sitting here. We're talking about MTV and digital and AI, and I thought, Max Headroom. I mean, he was, you're home in the 80s. You're watching Bewitched or I, Geneer, Genie reruns, and you turn on MTV, and there's Max Headroom. He was.
The first computer-generated TV host. Very nice. I like the contrast there. The Earl of Tacconi on Talk Radio 1210, 80s for you. Earl, what is it? 80s for me. Everyone remembers the British invasion of the 60s. In the 80s, we had the Australian invasion, especially talking about MTV. You had men at work with Down Under. You had NXS with NEEDY tonight. ACDCs, back in black, came out in 1980. You had Dexie's Midnight Runners with Come On, Eileen, Midnight Oil, with beds are burning. But it wasn't just the radio. The Australian New Wave of Video came out, where you had directors like Peter Weir, who did Witness and Dead Poets Society. The Mad Max franchise came out at that time with Mel Gibson, who actually wasn't Australian. He was born in upstate New York and moved to Australia when he was 10 when his father won a jackpot on Jeopardy. And he had Paul Hogan with Dundee. Everybody was talking about shrimp on the Barbie and a dingo ate my baby. All right. Thank you. Okay. You know, that's the only one out of two times a row ever called in, didn't like crocodile Dundee holding up the baby. With the alligators around. Didn't go nuts with that? Oh, yeah. She rolled in on a Saturday. It was shocking. I said, ah, I can't be here. Mark in Philly. Mark. Oops, Mark, what's yours? All right. I got to redeem myself from last week because I gave a dumb answer because I didn't understand the question. So my answer for this week is the Brady Bunch, everybody, every male doesn't matter how man of a man you were, you got the perm. Oh, man. He's not wrong. I think there were a lot of firms. Don, did you have the perm? No, I didn't have the perm. I didn't have the white shoes. I want that to be on the record. But that is a... Per with jeans. Oh, come on, man. Your gold chain?
Thank you, Mark. I love that call. That was quite a search. Did Zenos have the perm? Zenos? Did you have the perm? You know what, Dom? I did, but it was in the 90s. It was in the 90s. Even worse. Even worse. Nicely present pictures, yes. Yes, I had beautiful light brown hair. Man, I was the bomb coming up. The bomb. What's your side today, Zenos? My side, I got to make it fast. It was the release. of the hostages that those cooks in Iran have today, and they've been giving us trouble ever since. That's my answer, Dom, the release of the hostages in Iran. Thank you very much. All right, great answers here at the end of Perm. Uh, what do you say? I'm going with Mark with Perms. It was an unbelievable call. Sam, how about you? He referenced the Brady bunch, though. Isn't that the 60s? Uh, no. No, I think it was. I mean, that's all I'm saying. He lost me there at the beginning, but I like the call, too. Uh, but I was like Bill and Bucks, the Infomercial and Earl with the Australian invasion. Very good. Let's go with the Perms. He redeemed himself. Right, yes, he did. And I did not. I want that on the record. The chain? Yes, you can never have enough chains. And guys with no necks and women in high heels. Right. I'll fill out the other seven of the top ten on that tomorrow. All right. The afternoon show is next. I think it's Michael Pelka. It is. Did he get the perm in the 80s? I think he puts a lot of pictures up. They might be out there. We'll find out he's got three big hours coming up. We're back tomorrow with Doug Burgum and Linda McMahon. Who knows? The rest of the cabinet? You're listening to Dom on Talk Radio 1210, WPHT.
