Every week on the Moth podcast, real people tell their stories live on stage. I burst into tears. And I wasn't sure if I was crying because I hadn't been kissed in a really long time or if I had just never been kissed like that before. To hear fascinating, heartbreaking, and sometimes hilarious stories from astronauts, teachers, farmers, and people just like you, follow and listen to the Moth wherever you get your podcasts. Service Master. The Drive at 5. The stories driving today's headlines. Brought to you by Service Master of Greater Pittsburgh. When disaster strikes, demand the yellow van. On 100.1 FM and AM 1020, KDCA. Welcome back. It is 508 on a Monday. It is a gorgeous, gorgeous evening. Wow, beautiful. It's a beautiful day today all around. cool who baby it's wonderful kind of gets you in the mind coming up for those kind of those fall days coming up you know so yeah you better believe it uh all right so uh i'm gonna get to the phones here because they're ringing off the hook on this aaron rogers business uh going in order phil and homewood phil you're on k dk a hi phil You're my guy. You know that, right? I like you too, Phil. You're my guy. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So I want to say this about Aaron Rogers. He needs to keep quiet. Because there's people of different opinions on any team. And when you're supposed to be a leader, which he's not. And they're depending on you to lead them down the field. If you have a divisive attitude, then a lot of people ain't going to really respond to that, and that can affect team play. And he didn't have any reason to bring up Dr. Fossey, calling somebody a coward. But Donald Trump pleaded, and talking about pleading the fifth, Donald Trump pleaded the fifth over 400 times. All the Republicans, when they come before Congress, plead the fifth. That's the first thing they do. So that doesn't belong in football. I'm very disappointed. He's a mediocre quarterback at best now. He might have once had some type of greatness, but he's not like a multi-super Bowl winner. And I think he gets much too credit. He can't even get the ball down, Phil. No time. And do you understand, Phil, I'm kind of sad because, I'm kind of sad because, look, he has every right to have his opinion. I get that, but. Look, it's his last season, number one. Number two, they're at St. Vincent, a place that I love and revere, and I was on their fine arts board. Then, you know, he's on the Pat McAfee show, that show I love. He talked, Pat McAfee. I have friends around the country call me, say, Pat McAfee's talking about Pittsburgh. Is this true? Is that true? I love it. I do. And then. We have to deal with this. Now half of America is like, oh, that SOB, you know, where does he get off? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. In the middle of training camp, when you want to hear, is this team going to be good? He's entitled to his opinion. I get that. Like you are like I am. This is America. But.

The timing is not the best here. He's reunited with his old coach. You know, and I mean, we want the, we love the Steelers unconditionally. And you're right about one thing. You know, a football team is like anything else. It's like a workplace. People have differing opinions. It's like, and they consider themselves a family and around the holidays, families and get-togethers. Uh-uh. They ain't talking about this stuff because it starts trouble. And just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you have to express it. And the real leaders, they will not do anything to cause any decision in that team. And that's exactly what he's done. Attitude reflects leadership. Now, you're going to divide a leadership. You're going to have divided attitude, and it will affect play. And the man, I mean, when he came in, he's not been, McCarthy, I don't know why they got him either. He's not shown any real promise in the last 20 years. Now you're going to make me mad because that's my childhood friend. I love him. I love him. And he's going to do, he's going to, he's one of the winningest coaches for coaching right now. That's my man. Come on, man. One other winning the show is out about what? Hey, hey, hey, Phil. Hey, hey, Phil. Hey, hey, Phil. Hey, hey, I'm just going to say this to you right now. You just watch, you just watch and see. Keep an eye on them. keeping on in mccarthy and i wanted i wanted this glory story absolutely i listen i wanted this glory story You know, one of the best quarterbacks that ever played, reunited with a Super Bowl winning coach and one of the winningest coaches. And here they go into this season. And now we're going to deal with this side show. And that's another thing. Rich Fitzgerald. I don't know if you heard my conversation with them. I did. I said when I'm at Heinz Field, when I'm at Accrochore Stadium, I'm hugging. I'm hugging people. You know, I don't drink anymore, but, you know, they're drunk as skunks, and I'm hugging them. And when the Steelers score and win, and I don't care, I don't care if Donald Trump is their brother-in-law. I'm hugging that because we, we're Steeler guys and we're Steeler people. And that's my deal. Do you understand? Let me get to finish with this. The only blood I bleed other than black and gold is the blood of Jesus Christ, my Lord. Good for you. Good for you. You have a great day. You too. Thank you, Phil. Thanks a lot. All right. Coming up, because I'm going to have to get the traffic here in about a minute or so. Ted, Dave, Tom, you guys are in. Yeah. Football unites us.

I watched the games with my Trump or buddies, my anti-Trump buddies, my Republican buddies, my Democratic buddies, my independent buddies, everybody. I love the NFL. I love the Pittsburgh Steelers. And I get mad when people criticize them, and I get mad. I bet Rich Fitzgerald, he was, we talked about, we're right. I don't care if I'm hugging a trump or I don't care if I'm hugging somebody who hates Anthony Fauci's guts if the Steelers win a game. This is why I take exception to what happened today. Do you understand me? This is why. This is why. Football brings us together. I don't know. You know, that training camp, Rogers the other day was going on about his favorite ice cream place. He's going on about how good the team looks. I look at a picture. He's with Coach Mike laughing their butts off on the field. Happiness and joy, and we're all coming together for the Steelers. And now this. And I know how people act. I'm not going to, I'm not, I'm not, hey, Rogers is my quarterback. He's my quarterback. You know, but people are going to get mad. This is why families, the Steelers, it's one big family. It's why you don't talk politics. Fouchy versus Trump. Lemonade. Fresh squeeze, lemonade. Lemonade? Oh, nuts.
