235 segmentsWelcome to Win Tucson. It's the start of a new week. We have so much going on. We are once again in the height of general election fever, fever because it's 114 degrees, depending on where you were this weekend. But so much going on. And on Friday we had Brenda Martz in the studio, and we talked about how important it is to Make sure that you understand that although we're not going to be voting on it until November, this proposal by the Pima County Board of Supervisors is one that could cost us literally millions of dollars. And so we're talking 610. 0-86-481 if we're being exact. But it's a 75% increase to base voters because they're saying it hasn't adjusted since 1980. But this was a guardrail because it's based on percentage of revenues. I've invited one of the, and so second we start talking about numbers, I lose half my audience because it's just too technical. But we want to encourage people to write no. arguments. It costs $25 to submit. Of course, they're going to charge you for your opinion. Jay Tokoff, one of my wonderful precinct committeemen and candidate, former candidate, we're sorry about that, Jay. But why is it so important that we publish how we feel about this in the voter guide? And welcome, by the way. Well, good morning. Happy Monday. So I think what's so important here is that we need to make sure that people are aware of this. In order to get to the point where the Board of Supervisors was able to put it on the ballot in November, they actually had to hold two public hearings. And they did such a good job of making sure that we, the people, are informed of what they're doing, that literally no one showed up for either of the two public hearings. They've really done a good job of keeping this quiet because by the time you see it on the ballot, it's going to look like they're asking for a $70 million increase in the amount of money they can spend on a yearly basis. And that doesn't sound too bad. But it's not truthful. It is not truthful. It is deceptive at the best. And I think that's probably my biggest reason why people need to get out there and say, no, we're not going to take this. You're not going to pull the wool over our eyes. You're not going to get us to allow you to spend over a half a billion dollars a year moving forward for every year, and that number increases. So we need to get out there and write a little bit of an argument so that when people get their information pamphlet about what this is all about, they'll see tons and tons of people that are just saying, no way.
Can't do this. We're not going to let you just go hog wild. So, and Jay, I just want to let people know we promised on Friday, and it actually went up on over the weekend. So on the PimaGOP, so PemaGOP.org, PimaGOP.org, you go to vote no on Prop 425, the permanent base adjustment. That's what this is. So Pima County wants to permanently raise its 1980 spending base by 70 million, like Jay just said. However, there's a multiplier. That base then gets multiplied into roughly $610 million of new spending authority in a single year with no earmarks and no sunset. I want... we won't be able no one will be able to afford to unless Elon Musk comes and gives us all a lot of money and that's not going to happen so we want you to say it on the record write your own against argument we are providing AI will walk you through it and one AI starter can help you begin it educates you on it so that you can write your own no argument when you submitted it has a 300 word limit so AI will help you keep it there But this is, you're essentially, like Jay said, over a half billion dollars a year. Where is that money coming from? And it's coming from you. This is a covert operation by the Pima County Board of Supervisors. And Steve Christie. off to the side because he's not for this so we want you to write your own no argument we only have to wednesday do it today um pima gop.org it's it's all there uh but i want to talk about this jay back in 1980 uh what why was this what what caused that um the thing that they're bound by now. What was the reason that the, was it, I have to assume it was the legislature, or did the people vote that in back then? Was it a ballot measure? The, the restrictions? I would like that history, if you don't mind. As, as you very well remember, 1980, we were probably concerned about things that were not really, along these lines being that we were in our early 20s. I was graduating from the University of Arizona in 1980s. Yeah. And so this actually followed the lead of California. The people in California got sick and tired of being taxed to death for projects that were coming out of Sacramento. And they had, I believe it was Prop 13, which limited... how much money they could raise property taxes. And what was the reason? That was to stop runaway spending and then taxing that followed it. So the legislature in Arizona afraid that a similar thing was going to happen in Arizona. Now, let me just say, this is my understanding of the history that I've done. The legislature being afraid that the same thing was going to happen, they decided to head the people off at the pass.
And they put forth a ballot proposition to amend the Arizona Constitution. And it was a two-part deal. There was the base limit, a spending limit, part of the Constitution, which is what our board of supervisors is trying to amend. And then there was the tax levy limit. That was how much could they increase property taxes. based on the 1980 numbers. And then also there was a calculation to account for new development, new construction and things like that. But that's been in place, and that still is in place. So I've had some people say to me, well, you know, if we have this tax levy limit. what's the problem? You know, I mean, they're not going to be able to spend money that they don't have, and that's essentially true. So they're not going to be able to spend money they don't have. That's essentially, we're going to put that in their quotes, true. And that is the crux of this problem, Jay, right? Yeah. So, so what happens is, So it's, you know, and the really ugly part about this is this is really an end run around we the people. Right. Because now if the board of supervisors wants to do some kind of major projects that's going to cost, let's say, a quarter of a billion dollars. They have to go to the public and create a new tax district or flow to bond or something like that. And we get to choose. We get to say, yeah, a new indoor soccer stadium is really a great idea. And we're going to go ahead and do that. Or we get to say, no, you're out of your mind. You don't get to do that. Well, now, in one year, a mere three people sitting on the board of supervisors will be able to decide for us. And let's say they decide that they want to build an indoor soccer arena. And it's going to cost... a half a billion dollars and it could easily do that it could cost a billion dollars they could all depends on who they hire which of one of their friends it could cost five billion dollars for all we know i mean come on yeah sorry but so the problem is is that once you know that when they if they decide to commit to things that are permanent it's kind of like Like if you move into a bigger house, your payments are going to go up and they're fixed. You can't do anything except get out of it. Well, yeah, this county won't be able to get out of this stuff. So they're going to be locked into these fixed expenses and then they're going to come back and they're going to say.
Oh, no, we don't have enough money. So now we're going to have to raise the tax levy limit. Yeah, which they love to do. And we are one of the highest tax counties in the state. Jay, we got to take a quick break. Can you stay with me just a little bit longer? I really am. Sure, sure. I think we, this is so important. If cost of living is too high, and this is the thing that the other team is running on. These people are literally standing at the bank trying to rob it. When we get back, you are listening to Win Tucson on 1030 The Voice, your trusted local news and talk, the best place to be Monday through Friday, 9 to 11. But this is important. So I'm sounding all the alarms. We'll be back right after this. Welcome back to Wind Tucson and I just have to say that's the first time I've heard that ad and Perfection AutoWorks is a new sponsor and we're so grateful to them and they do great job. I will pontificate about them later on in the show because I have a we. Had a wonderful experience, but I want to stay focused on the conversation right now. So we're going to circle back on that later, but just know they do an incredible job. And they still, and they have that parrot. So the parrot's real, right? They do. Like I said, I just told you in the break. I took my truck there a few years ago when I had it and they. They fixed it for a really good price, too. Yeah, so fair. And they do, what you pay, you get so much more. So thank you. I'm extending their commercial, but it's wonderful. Thanks, Jason, for indulging me on that. So what Proposition 425 does is Pima County is seeking your approval. Don't give it to them. To permanently increase its 1979, 80 expenditure base. Now you go, oh, that's so long ago. But by 70, is it 70, is it 70 million? Is that what you're saying, Jay? Hello? Yeah, that was the, that was the, that's the amount that they're looking for in 1979. Okay. So, 1979, our dollars went a lot further. And then, you know, I mean, it wouldn't be nice if you could buy a house for $30,000. It would be nice. It would be very nice. And it'd be nice to go back and not make some of those mistakes that I made back from 1980. But that's okay. And so I think I did buy a house in 1982, and it was interest rates were 17%. And I got 13% 15% year and thought I had stole. My house payment was $600 a month, which was high back then. But it was wonderful. So, but this money. equates to roughly a 75% increase to the 7980 base. 75%. So that's what you're voting for. And to me, when you're increasing something 75%,
I don't care who you are. Why? Go ahead. You got to make sure that people understand that the spending base limit in 1979 is now at over $800 million because of the calculations that get involved. So that 70 million, you know, that 70 million. is an increase over the original 93 million. 93.7 million. That was the amount that was allowed to be spent in 1979. But that 93.7 million has now increased to over 800 million. Well, the increase on that base is going to increase also each year. And you're right. Without help from us, though, by changing the rules, right? Yeah. It's just automatically, yes. Okay. And there's no one doing it. We can't go back. Once it's done. There's no provisions that go, well, we made a mistake. Let's back that out again. No, it's done. It's, you know. And this is giving additional authority. Is there any way that we can even, I guess if they're, they're, well, let's go back. So we have until, um. Friday, or not Friday, sorry. We have till August 5th. So today's the third. So you have today, tomorrow, and Wednesday at 5 p.m. it cuts off. And so don't wait until Wednesday. Do it today, do it tomorrow. And you can write under 300 words, draft one clear argument against 425 in your own words. And then you can use proofread carefully. go to Pima County's ballot measure against, select the proposition, permanent base adjustment when prompted, and choose against and paste your text. We have given you eight different examples, but take what's there and adapt it to your own language, but make sure that your argument, it's a little complicated, but I've got smart listeners. I really need you to do this. We have to push back. Each submission... Go ahead, Jay. Think about it that... Sure, the people on the board of supervisors are in favor of it. They're going to write, yes, this is why you need to do it. They're going to try to cover it up and say, oh, this is going to give us so many opportunities to be able to provide better services for all you people out there. Yeah, just drive down. I'm going to give people five roads to drive down and then we can talk about better services or the homeless encampments or the drugs or all the other problems that they haven't bothered to fix. So where are the better services for the stuff that they promised when they ran? Trusting this is like the most insane thing that I can think to do right now. Go ahead. I just saw last week receipts from where Jen Allen spent $28,000 to remodel her office. Well, that's important, Jay.
Yeah, I mean, it's like, well, while we're out here worrying about whether we can put food on the table or gas in our gas tank, she's getting $1,800 end tables for her couch. So I don't trust their ability to spend. But, you know, it's not just them who's going to write positive things. It's the people that are going to benefit from it that are, you know, or, you know, if we get this through, you're going to be able to do this, you know, and that could be the affordable housing people. Yeah, but we don't want some of the things they want to do. That's the other side of this. Let's, you know, we need to tuck away the pocketbook. They got so used to spending money that wasn't theirs through COVID. And that's on our website too, by the way. So in case you have forgotten what Dr. Anthony Fauci said, which is basically nothing last week, but we have his diaries posted on PimaGOP.org. That's a friendly reminder of people that promise you something or tell you something. And it was a complete and utter lie. And he knew he was lying. And his own diaries condemn him. Fifth Amendment aside. uh or yeah uh so go ahead or taking the fifth not the fifth amendment sorry it's monday yeah you know it's just you know like i say this is really doing an end run around us being able to put it you know give input to control the way our elected officials will be able to spend the money that they essentially take from us. If you don't pay your taxes, you lose. Well, here's the, here's, this is based on a set amount that we, we pay in for taxes, right? So the problem is if they, if they empty the piggy bank, which is what they want to do, and we have a real crisis. And, and. This just, this doesn't do what they're going to promise you it does. This is a Pinocchio moment for the Pima County border supervisors. They are not telling the truth. They are going to try to oversimplify this. And this is like 414. We have to stand together with independents and Democrats and just say no. You cannot fiscally bankrupt Pima County. This is criminal. Yeah. Another thing is, you know, I spoke to, you know, Beth Ford. She was, you know. Oh, I love Beth. Yes. Pima County treasurer, what, 24 years? Yes. And, you know, and she didn't have to resign in shame or anything like that. And leave a financial money. Yeah, she had no hot tub parties with coworkers. Yeah. Thank you, Beth. When I was talking to her about it, she said, you know, she was very well, much aware of this in her position. And she said, at first when we were talking, she was like, I'm not sure, you know, I know this has been a problem in the past. Well, from what I understand, she's kind of looked into it and went, wait a minute. Yeah, there is a need to raise it.
Because, you know, things have changed over the last 45 years. And there are things that the government, we expect the government to do that they didn't do before. But even she's gone, this is way about what it should be. You know, to example, Maricopa County back in 1998. Now, remember, Maricopa County from 1980 to now exploded in terms of population and things of that nature. And they're, you know, their basic. The way they're set up has had to change. And so there was extra cost. So back in 1998, Maricopa County asked for an 11% increase. Now, that probably would be reasonable. But, you know, you mentioned 75. I did the math on it, and I think it came out to 79.9%. I mean, that's almost doubling. I mean, imagine, you know, waking up one morning and walking into your work and your boss says, hey, good news. We just increased your pay 80%. you'd be like, woohoo, you know, I'm going to buy that boat. I'm going to go buy a new car. I mean, this is what we're opening the door to, you know. And like I say, they're going to, the county's going to say, you know, we're up against this. There's a problem. Yeah, there is. But it's not 80% of a problem. It's maybe 10, 15%. And their argument is that, oh, well, we don't want to have to come back and ask you to vote again for at least another 20 years. Well, what if their projections are wrong? Oh, their projections. Their projections would be wrong. Oh, how could that happen? Yeah, well, the chart is ridiculous. Can I go back to the RTA again? I know we let that through to fix our roads that hadn't gotten fixed. And by the way, I have hoped for Grant Road. I drove down it Saturday and it's getting better. It's just not there yet. And I want to be there for the official ribbon cutting of Grant Road when we get there sometime in my lifetime. Yeah, hopefully in our lifetime. I've got a birthday this month. It's not looking good, Jay. You know, like, I don't know about, you know, will Grant Road get finished or will I turn 100? And I'm not turning 100 this month, by the way, just to let you know. Okay, I know I told you short time. Can you hang with me a little bit longer? There's so much. I just want to unpack this. I really do. And we have to take a break. If that's okay. Yeah. This is so important. This is such a deadline. And I want to direct people to PimaGOP.org. A no vote does not allow Pima County to adjust its 1979-80 base expenditure limit because it is a formula.
that only lets them spend so much. We need to put those restrictions on. You are listening to Win Tucson on 1030 The Voice here on KVOI. We are your trusted local news sources. This is so important locally. Trust me on this because I came from a financial background. I know how to do math. Two good things for a girl to know. We'll be back right after this on this Bustos media station, Win Tucson. Welcome back to Win Tucson, and we are talking no on Proposition 425. They had two public meetings no one attended. What does that tell you? It tells you that they didn't want you to attend. It tells you that they didn't promote it. It tells you that they don't want you to know that they want to get a capacity increase of $610 million. Jay, what is our total budget right now for Pima County in an average year? 800 million, is that about right? Well, that's for the core functions. There's library taxing districts, and then there's other bonds and things like that, which are in addition. But, yeah, the core, you know, the stuff that the county is charged with doing is a little over $800 million. And so they could do a one-year override and smaller adjustments is an alternative that they could have done, right? If they felt that they had a quick run out and do this affordable housing, which, by the way, we're not even confident, works for solving the problem. Affordable housing is in search of a problem that actually they're the solution to. And there's many... studies, and I've worked on homelessness since my 20s when we founded new beginnings, and we were effective. And Chastain, Gospel Rescue Mission. They do an incredible job. So we have things that work, and they don't take any government money. You know, it's amazing. They do an incredible job, and they don't take any government funding to do it. 100%. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So that should be the example. Sure. And, you, you know, you said this is, this is, you know, we're talking no on 425, and you're right. But this is, this is really about yes, and we need you to write an argument. You know, this is really your opportunity to get out there. And, you know, people will read those, those pamphlets. And a lot of times they don't read all the words, but if they see that there's 15 arguments, yes. and 120 that say no, that's going to have an impact. Yeah, this is almost like, this is like pre-voting, right? This is pre-voting. This is like reserve your spot and say no, you know, the more that we can, and this is literally a fire drill. We've got today, tomorrow, and Wednesday, 5 o'clock cutoff. And so go to pema, gop.org. We've got it all laid out for you. We made it easy. You open the county portal. You go to Pima County's ballot measure argument form, select proposition, permanent base adjustment when prompted. Permanent base adjustment. Just think permanent. And there's no recourse. This is like, please let us rob you. Please let us rob this bank. Please let us continue to have bad failed policies. Free bus service. If you're upset about the free bus service, this is more of the same. It's mismanagement of the resources of this county.
And this is what they're asking for. Right. And so, go ahead. You mentioned that they could do, they could do this at, you know, in smaller increments. and see, you know, well, you know, let's ask for 15% and see if that takes care of the problem. And if we need to do it again in another five years, well, there's going to be another election. And so, you know, what's the big deal? These people may not even be in office in two years. This is, this is so irresponsible. This is, I mean, you're, you don't know who the dynamic or the makeup is going to be. If we become a socialist, and we're going to talk about that in our second hour today, if we become a socialist county. which can happen go to Denver, go to San Francisco, go to L.A., go to Chicago, go to New York City. If we become like that, and what's happening in New York City is that the billionaires are leaving in droves. So that's, then the pressure gets put on the average guy. If all the business people, people look to see what is the economic impact of putting a business here. This directly affects it. I can't, this is a math problem that we can't afford. We can't afford what they're trying to do. I think that's a simple, go ahead, Jay. Yeah, and, you know, one of their favorite arguments is that, you know, we have too much money. We can't spend the money we have. Oh, oh, yeah, it's called savings. It's called, you know, but think about it this way. It's like, what a shocker. You have too much money. And let's see, we have the highest effective property tax rate in the state. Yes. Apache County has a higher tax rate. But their houses are worth on average about $35,000, $40,000. So when you look at the actual property taxes, we are the highest in the state. Well, it's no surprise that we have extra money that we can't spend. How about reducing our property taxes to be in line with some of the other counties? But that's, you know, that's not an option. You know, it's kind of, if you're a working person. You know, nobody likes to see, nobody likes to see their income go backwards. Well, this whole thing is all about how much they can spend and how much they can collect. And that all comes from us. We need to, we need to say, no, the gravy train has stopped. And you need to be responsible to the people that elected you. Well, yeah. The gravy train. The gravy train with mashed potatoes and roast beef and, you know, five desserts. These... $28,000 remodeled for an office. Well, yeah, isn't that great? I want to be... Well, never mind. This is what, you know, for the, not for me, mentality, right? It's about wanting to be important and powerful and with no regard for the average Tucson in.
and or Oro Valley or, you know, all the other cities, towns in court. In the county residents. Yeah. We hear about, we hear about all these people that are suffering from affordability. Well, hey, guess what? I don't care, unless you live in a government-owned facility, if you're renting a property and the property taxes go up, guess what? Your landlord is going to pass that increase on to you. This is a direct attack on affordability, which is like that's their mantra right now. It's like, well, why are you, hello? Why are you making it less affordable for us when you're saying that the big deal is affordability? This is going to affect anybody that lives in team accounts. And I just want to say that Arizona's constitutional limit was created to restrain long-term government growth. We don't want bigger government. Does anyone want bigger government? If you do want bigger government, you want to then vote for the socialist this election. If you want less government... then vote against this because you can't want more government doesn't solve problems. Every time the government get involved, some special interests get rich. And in this issue of homelessness, this is the perfect example. Lisa Chastain, gospel rescue mission doesn't take a nickel. Doesn't take a nickel from the government. They are self-sufficient. And they do an incredible job and they're successful. And they are supported by business leaders in this community because of that. So this constitutional limit was created back as we've talked, 7980. A permanent base adjustment of this scale replaces that restraint. with higher ongoing capacity funded by existing revenues. So one-year overrides and smaller adjustments already exists for specific needs. This manager bypasses all of those checks and balances. It is, we cannot afford this. And if you think you can, you should just sign over your houses to the county supervisors right now. You know, it's not that we, it's not only that we can't afford it. It's why would you want to give up that much control over your destiny to a couple people, you know, a couple few people who, you know, might have completely ideas about what life should be like. I just, you know, like I say, that's the big thing for me is that right now. If they want to do with some kind of big special project, they have to ask us if it's okay. Now three of them can get together. Three people can make multi-million dollar decisions. Over a half billion dollar decision. Right. Over a half billion. And these are this and and and by the way, you know, we.
We still have the whole data center problem. We still have the anti-ice problem. We still have the homeless problem. We still have the drug problem. We just had a shooting. This is good. We just had a, not that wasn't good, but we just had a shooting. Nine people shot. I know several of the people that got shot. There wasn't enough capacity at our local hospitals to get them service. the night of the shooting. So nine people, can you imagine if we had a mash casualty? We don't have resources in this community right now because of all the homeless and all the illegal immigrants that are still remaining in our community that our congresswoman who used to serve on this board of supervisors advocates for. So she advocates for those that are here illegally over the rights of the citizens in this community. And she's no longer on the board of supervisors, but these are the kinds of decisions that she encouraged. I'm sorry, but, you know, that's where we are. Jay, can I just, can you finish up the hour? Can you stay a little longer or no? Yeah, and then I got to go. take care of some business. I love it. Thank you for doing this. But this is, again, the average family in Tucson is facing rising costs for housing, utilities, and utilities. And they're not helping us there either. I'm in the county. The city of Tucson is raising our water rates. Like, they're coming after us. And there's, at some point, we might as well just hand over our social security checks to the county government and to the city government. They have no regard for the average family. And whatever they think that they're going to do with, they want the power of having a half billion dollars. And we shouldn't give it to them. They haven't earned our right to have that money. And they haven't been good stewards of it. You're listening to Wynne Tucson on 1030, The Voice, your trusted local news and talk on KVOI.com. I'm Kathleen Wynn with Jay Tocoff. We'll be back right after this brief commercial break. Welcome back to win Tucson on 1030 The Voice on this Monday. I'm all fired up, Jay, because... unrelated, but went to Coles yesterday with my Coles cash and I had a $140 coupon and I got to the checkout counter and they said, well, there's only $72 left now. The culprit wasn't the Pima County Board of Supervisors. It was one of my daughters who had snuck in to buy her kids some stuff for school and hadn't told me. So we cleared that up yesterday and my one granddaughter has now a beautiful brand new backpack and the other daughter, a granddaughter has some new... workout clothes for school and they're happy. So I'm happy. I just didn't know that they took this money. And this is kind of like that. Not that the Pima County Board of Supervisors is stealing your cold cash. They're stealing your cold cash. But this is a way you don't see this. And it'll cost more when you pay your utility bill. It'll cost more when you pay your taxes because they are going to take this money.
And you will not receive a direct benefit from what they're saying they want this to be. And instead of cutting their overhead, instead of getting rid of a layer of administration, they have bloated the government. And instead of buying new furniture for their offices, you know, it's insane to me. So why... why do what is the argument for what are they going to say to us to convince us to con us into voting for this well their their main reason is they say they have too much money and they can't spend it okay stop just stop just stop right there think about that they have too much money and they just can't spend it Does any, does that not like, you might as well, if you're an 80 year old, you might as well go marry a 20 year old, give her a credit card and let her go wild. You know, just, you'll be happy, she'll be happy, and then there'll be nothing left. You know, it's just crazy. It just, this is, this is beyond comprehension that we have too much money that they can't get their hands on. Well, they've got their hands on it. They just don't want to give it back to the people that it belong to. Which is us. They want to keep it for themselves and rich, whoever. But they're out of office in two years, and I guarantee you several of them won't run for re-election. Well, that would be nice. In my hallmark movie, that's how that turns out. They don't run for re-election because I need a wonderful, happy ending here. We have to fight back. So this is where we are today. PimaGOP.org, you have to go on. We will help you write a statement. Get in there and say why you don't want 425. And the fact that they were sneaky about it, that, you know, hey, is the first problem. They didn't, they really should have, I'd love for them to come out to community events. We should host it and see if anyone's got the moral courage to show up. Or let Steve Christie Wild go wild on the community and let him talk about how bad this is. I think that may be the other countermeasure that we can do. But in the meantime, you as a citizen, a voter in Pima County, or just as a property owner in Pima County, please, please, take the time today, tomorrow, Wednesday is the absolute cutoff at 5 o'clock. Go on there and send in your 300 words or less. Why? you have to be a strong no on 425. I think this is so critical. And send a strong message. Get your hands off our money. It's our money. It's not your money. The fact that these, and Jay, you make the strongest point is that three people can cause over a half billion dollars to be put now into the spend column.
Right. And the other thing that they've done this based on 20-year projections, at the end of 20 years, that half billion dollars is now translated to over a billion dollars. Like I say, that money keeps going up every year. Exactly. Every year. So if it's a half billion, if it's 6.610 million, which is over a half billion, this year, 27, 28, it goes up. It keeps going up. But this is why in 79-80, when they put this restriction on, it was a multiplier. It was a factor. It wasn't, oh, here, Katie, open up all the cupboards and give everything away. No, no, you need reserves. What happens if the water remains break? What happens, you know, there's so many issues that this community faces. And you were so right earlier on in one of the earlier segments. You made the mention that these officials got used to spending all this COVID money that came in. And, you know, in the city of Tucson, there actually is a policy where temporary money can't be used for permanent entities to be set up. And that's exactly what they did. They didn't even follow their own rules. And I also want to mention one other thing. During your commercial break, one of the bumper songs was Bad Moon Rising. Yes. This is a Bad Moon Rising. Brendan's really good at this. He listens to the conversation. The music tends to go with it. And honestly, and over the weekend... I watched a stop it. We can stop this bad movement from rising. I love it. You know, this is a big deal. It's a big, big deal. And, you know, when you look at the way they're going to present it on the proposition, it makes like, oh, this is really nothing. And it's huge. In the 50 years I've been here, I can't think of any bigger proposition that is affected. the people in this is this is theft in in full daylight they're so brazen right now and so in emboldened and entitled you know voters should keep the original base the way that it is now and require narrower requests when justified sometimes you need okay i think that is exactly what we need to do so vote no on four to five we're going to tell you that after wednesday but between now and wednesday if you're a smart person take some time today, tomorrow, and Wednesday. It's a short notice, but this is when we, you know, these are all the people that leave their ballots on the counter until election day. All you people, go in and write a comment, no on 425. We really have to turn out on this. This is so important. We need people to do this. And like I say, if 100 people were to do this, that would be enough to sway a good portion of the voters. They'll just see these arguments going, wow, that's a lot of people that are against it.
Yeah. You know, you need to pony up to $25. Because they're going to have people that saying, oh, this is so good. We'll have money for this and money for that and money for this. Except it's your money. And if you don't want this and that and you don't want their new latest, greatest socialist experiment, don't do this. Don't open up the bank. This has worked for us for a long time. And the fact that they say we have money that we can't get our hands on and we can't spend should just wake you up. I mean, come on. They're telling you exactly what they're trying to do. And in the public hearings, speak the loudest to me. Jay, I'm pretty informed. You're pretty informed. Do you remember when they did the public hearings? Yeah, I did because Brenda actually, she called me up and she said, what the heck is this all about? And it was after the first one. You know, funny thing is this, I don't even think the board of supervisors really understand what's going on here. This is actually proposed by staff. And this is a classic, the inmates are running the asylum type of affair. During the first public hearing, the only person who spoke was from the dais. And that was Andres Cano, the person who was appointed to fill out Adelaide Grijalva's seat when she left to go to the Congress. Andres gave an explanation for so that we could wrap our heads around this. And it had nothing to do with reality. It was just, it was, you know, you can, and it was back in March, I believe that first one, the end of March. And you can go and listen to it, you know, because those are out there. And he explains it. And it's like, no, that is not what it. He goes, this is what it's like. It's like this, this, this. And I like, no, that is nothing like what it's like. He tried to equate it to having a job and not being able to not being able to put money in your bank account. It's like, no, that's exactly what we were asking to do. Take the extra money and put it in the bank account. Yeah. And it will compound. I really don't think they understand it. They don't understand it. And money will compound. 14 years ago, we put $10,000 in the bank for a college fund for our granddaughter who's about to turn 16 August 5th on Wednesday. And it's now worth well over 100,000. That's called compound interest. This is what you do. It's a savings thing and your money can work for you. And when they spend the money, we don't have it as a savings. The money's not earning any interest. We are not investing. It is criminal. They are throwing money at projects that don't work. There's no justification for what they're doing. One just needs to drive down. Just as a friendly reminder today, if you need to be motivated, just drive down Grant Road. Just drive down. Or 22nd Street, or 29th Street. Find a street that you know has nothing but potholes and drive on it.
Just so. My favorite is that the Kino Highway and Alvernon, you know, the gateways to Tucson. And when you get to the transition between Alvernon and Golf Links, It's, it's, it's, you know, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, your, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the same, you know, the, the same, you know, the, the same mentality that's going on. The city of Tucson, to great fan care just announced their, um, that, you know, went into effect July 1. Mm-hmm. You know, oh, yeah, we balanced the budget. They balanced the budget by borrowing, not borrowing, taking $61 million out of the extra money that was left over from other budgets. And, you know, it's called the Rainy Day Fund. And, you know, there's a policy limit for what the Rainy Day Fund is, and we still have that. But they still took an extra $61 million. And, you know, and they didn't do anything to raise in expenses. The budget actually went up $50 million. Well, if they had kept it at the same, we would only have to borrow $10 million. And as you say, that money would be sitting there compounding and making it before. Well, that's because we're smart. Jay, we got to go. I appreciate you. Tell everyone you know today, vote no, but also get on there and do a statement. Pima County, gop.org, and Pima County, recorder's office so we'll we'll we'll remind people tomorrow have a great great day jay thank you okay when we come back we're going to go to my next new favorite topic uh socialism and why we don't need it here on 1030 the voice Welcome back to Win Tucson, and we're going to shift gears a little, although I think it's probably still in the same category, when your government is trying to steal all your tax dollars to be in control of special projects that you don't want. Someone might call that communism or socialism, but who knows? I am joined this morning by Jack Donna, Master Sergeant retired, right? That's right. Okay, good. I always worry. I try to promote you, Jack, all the time. You sent me an article over the weekend, and the second I opened it, I was like, oh. Oh, so good. Not because what we're about to talk about is happening, but because so much of this seems remote. It's happening in Michigan. It's happening in New York. It's happening in L.A. It's happening in, I think I said Chicago, in Seattle. But there are multiple, multiple communist organizations operating in Arizona.
And the one, there's the RCA, which is the revolutionary communist of America, always in the language. But think about it. We have T.P. USA, right? Turning point, USA action. And so these people are clever. And they have CP USA, the Communist Party USA, also has a strong presence in Arizona. So I know you came from Nicaragua, where you understand this. My father did. Your father did. Okay. Well, your father came here to get you out of that. And so... I thank you for bringing this to my attention, number one. It just confirms what we already know. And there's students for socialism at my alma mater. University of Arizona in Tucson is a revolutionary Marxist, Leninist. I can say this. Student organization focused on discussion, community, and socialistic goals. Take it away because I think this is so important and what you have to say is, I know you're going to educate my listeners, so please. Well, thank you for having me. I appreciated me. The article that you're mentioning was written by Rachel Alexander and it was in the Arizona Insiders and also the Arizona edition of the Epoch Times. And I was a contributor to the article. You know, basically, you know, what's going on here is we are seeing the early stages of a of a communist revolution here in the United States. Now, I know that there's a lot of people out there that may be listening to this and they're probably scoffing at that. Or, you know, they're saying, you know, oh, these are people just. You know, the sky is falling. We've seen these people, you know, advocating for this stuff as far back as the 1960s, you know, with the posters of, you know, Marx, Lenin, Trotsky on polls. But the difference between back then and now is these groups are very, very heavily funded and they're very, very organized. And people need to be, this needs to be a concern. to everyone involved. I mean, for example, you know, the Phoenix, you know, the Phoenix Instagram page for, you know, the Party of Socialism Liberation, and this is also in the internet, has 35,000 followers. And that's a lot. Yes. That's a lot of people. I mean, you talk about my city of Sierra Vista only has 48,000. I mean, think about the population. I mean, that's a lot of people. And so, you know, the root of this. And to be clear, there's not 48,000 socialists in Sierra Vista. No, just population. I know, I just wanted to make, I want to. Otherwise, we'd have, we'd have a bigger problem, but continue. Go ahead. Yeah. No, so, you know, the, the issue here is what's, what's fueling this, it's, it's, it's multi-pronged. And, you know, my father, you know, in his later years,
you know, spoke to to me extensively about what happened in Nicaragua, you know, his home country and why him and the entire family had to escape. And so, you know, what's going on here is the, you know, Marxists, Leninists, Trotskyist, whatever you want to call them, all of the, you know, they're all different flavors of communism, have infiltrated our education system. And, you know, this infiltration happened decades ago. But now what you are, you are actually seeing the fruits coming, you know, the actual, the labor that they put in decades ago, it is now coming to fruition. And, you know, a lot of what is driving this. And this is also, again, you know, my father's opinion, we talked about this quite a bit. It goes back to, it goes back to the economy and it goes back to, you know, 2008. So when the, you know, there's three things. My father always said there's three things for communism to take root and quickly topple a nation. It happens within a generation, according to him, because that's what he observed. You know, there's three things. You need one, you need crushing generational style poverty. And we started down that path in 2008. And what I mean by that is when those banks in the banking institutions, due to their own fault, you know, with the subprime mortgages and over-leveraging themselves, when these banks got themselves into trouble, these insurance companies got into trouble. They should not have been bailed out. They should have been allowed to collapse. Now, the argument to that, a lot of people are going to say, well, you know, if we had allowed that to happen, you know, the entire financial system would have collapsed. And sure, we would have gone through a lot of pain. We've probably two or three years of pain. But by bailing them out, what they did was they put that burden on the middle class and the poor predominantly. You know, the banking system, you know, being propped up by the taxpayer was in, in itself, in actually a form of communism, you know, and so, you know, what is the end result of that? The end result of that is you've had a generation of kids. since around 2008 timeframe, and that's almost 20 years ago, a whole generation that have grown up. working one, two, three jobs, struggling to try to survive, living at home with their parents, you know, overextended on their student loans, not being able to make ends meet. And so what does that do? Psychologically, what that does is it causes a young person to look at the system and to look at older people who are...
like our generation, who are affluent and who made it in a time when these massive bailouts didn't take place. And what it does is it breeds resentment. And so that is what the communists are doing. And I would say very successfully, both internally in our country, but Jack, and we have to take a break in about a minute and a half. So if we don't finish this to where I'm about to go, outside influences from CCP, Russia, North, like there's other influences on our country right now. Fair? Yes, absolutely. But the message is the same. The message is our model works, your model doesn't. And that's beginning, that is beginning to sell to our use. That is beginning to take root to our youth. And that is a problem that every single person that's listening to this broadcast should be concerned about. That they are actually winning the propaganda messaging in regards to, you know, one, capitalism doesn't work. Look at what's happened to you. Look at how hard you're working. You're working two or three jobs. And look at there's rich people here who are just not even suffering what you're suffering, but you are. And that kind of messaging is toxic and dangerous. And it's working. Well, it is because you can be part of a movement and get all excited and say whatever. But then there's the consequences of it. We're going to take a break. We come back. We're going to continue our conversation, the retired master sergeant Jack Donna, Army intelligence, and so much more. Here on 1030, The Voice, your trusted local news and talk. This is Wynn Tucson. I'm Kathleen Wyn. Stay with us. We'll be right back.
Welcome back to Wind Tucson. Jack, before we jump back in, I just have to say Perfection Auto Works. These are the first time I'm hearing these commercials. I love them. They're funny. They're making me laugh. And when Check Auto Light goes on, the other thing that just drives me crazy is that little thing with the exclamation point in your tires. And with the heat and everything, I hate getting the exclamation point. But I have to tell you, My husband, you know, he uses his truck to go get the horse feed. And the older he gets, he tries not to drive as much as he used to, especially at night. And so his truck really hadn't been serviced. And when we took it to them, like the list is longer than my arm. And they did everything so. They made the truck look new. It's a 2020. It's, you know, what is it, 2026? They made this truck look new. It looks beautiful. My husband feels like he got his own truck back, but it's brand new. It was cleaned. It just doesn't look the same. And he's... like saying it's like his bonus birthday present and uh and so i just have to thank you know mike emery and and the parrot uh i think nelson is his name uh they did a great job and i i just have to it they're just so fair they're right off a speedway um but you should definitely check them out if you they They treat you fairly. They get you in and out. They do have a waiting list. It's like a fine restaurant, actually. But I just wanted to say, I'm grateful that they're sponsoring this show now. And we love like-minded people. who understand the importance of this conversation and so they're sponsoring it. So I wanted to say thank you. Okay. So meanwhile, back at the ranch, we have my own alma mater has a socialist club. They also have a Turning Point USA Club. Let's hope that there's more members at U of A of that club than the Communist Party USA. But the appeal before we went to break of... getting being involved in belonging right uh many of these kids in college went through the covid nonsense um and so they're looking for some connection unfortunately this is not a healthy or good connection uh so uh but it sounds good right you know being part of something Oh, yeah. I mean, absolutely. I mean, everything that they're selling to today's youth is, you know, it's hypnotic. You know, basically you have a sense of belonging. You have a sense of purpose. You have a focus point.
uh for your anger you know why am i struggling so hard why am i doing why is this so difficult for me when you know i look at the older generations and i look at you know my my parents and you know i hear their stories they didn't have it as hard as me well why am i struggling so much well it all again it all goes back to the economy and then it goes back to the second leg of what my father spoke about in regards to communism And that is the education system. And, you know, one of the things that has been totally destroyed, you know, and basically the people in positions of power, elected and unelected, they basically abandoned our public education system. to one particular party. And what I mean by that is... No, we totally agree. Yeah, I mean, you look at the university system. I mean, the university system, very few people on the right are tolerated. Very few professors left on the right are tolerated. But what did the powers that be? They basically said, well, we'll just let the Dems and the party on the left have control of the public education system, the universities and... And we'll have our think tanks. We'll have our Brookings Institute. We'll have our Kato Institute. And so when you see a lot of these people on the right and they go on TV, okay, and you see, you know, fellow Brookings Institute, you know, Kato Institute. That is, that was what they thought 20, 30 years ago, was going to be their solution to the left taking over the education system. But that doesn't work. And the reason why that doesn't work is because not everybody can get into the Cato Institute or any of these private think tank institutions. And so you have even more of the divide with our education system being abandoned to whatever current market. But Jack, isn't it? Isn't it even worse than that? Isn't it? Because forget that they can't get in. They don't even understand the history why they would want to be there. We have... Well, that's true. Our education system has been dumbed down. We, you know... I don't know that people can spell or read or whatever. They know how to work their phones. And there are smart, brilliant kids out there. Don't get me wrong. I got to see a bunch of them when I was in D.C. for the 1776 project. But I would say that they're the minority, and we are still paying the consequences of COVID, as much as I hate admitting that. But what Dr. Anthony Fauci did adversely affected. this country and it's part of and it's part of it feeds into the socialist communist side of the country right but but see what you're getting you're getting to to one of the the key facets of communism when it when it infiltrates into an education system if you look at any of the speeches of any of these dictators you know whether it be hugo chavez if you look at you know from you know as well if you look at the speeches of uh
in Nicaragua of Daniel Ortega, or you looked at the speeches of Castro or Hitler, any of them, they always play on emotions. Because when you are emotional, when you're emotional, it shuts off your ability to use critical thinking. They used to teach critical thinking in our education system. They don't teach that anymore. What they teach is they teach emotional response. You know, white people are bad. They invaded. They took over the land from the Indians. You know, these are all designed to trigger an emotional response in the person. And, you know, there's an old saying, I can't remember who said it, but long after someone has done something to you, you won't remember the details behind it, but you will remember how they made you feel. That means you, yes, exactly. Yeah, they will react. And so, so what that's what they're doing. They're doing that to our youth. And they're selling this thing of, you know, you can be part of a movement. You can be part of the solution. And they're not teaching our youth that this ideology of Marxism, communism, socialism. Socialism is just, it's just a speed bump on the way to communism. You know, you're just a short trip. But, you know, this toxic ideology is responsible for the death of millions. of people around the globe, whether it's Mao Zedong's Great Leap Forward or Paul Pot, the killing fields, or Castro and Che Guevarez, Cuba, I could go on and on. This ideology, when it comes down to its end state, when you get past the socialism and they finally say, well, let's just go straight for communism. It leads to the barrel of a gun. and it leads to massive death. Every single time, there is no example in human history where this ideology has worked. But the reason why it takes root like this and it ignites with so quickly. is because it's triggered by emotions based upon your suffering. Yeah. I mean, this is how they're getting to us. And we have no idea how little we're not suffering. Like we're not suffering. We, you know, we, we can't get a latte. I mean, or it's hot here, I guess maybe, but I don't, I don't think we understand how people are suffering in other countries. And oh yeah, oh yeah. And look at what happened in Spain over the weekend, right? Oh, yeah, absolutely. I mean, you know, here's the whole thing with Spain and, you know, I just make this point real quick. The one thing that nobody is talking about, nobody is talking about this. And I picked up on it right away. And so did the other members of our intelligence think tank that we have is basically this. You cannot move 60,000 people. illegally, across a border without the complicit agreement of the governments of Spain and Morocco. You can't tell me that they didn't know this was coming and, you know, they, you know, I mean, you can't move that many amount of people without. Was it 60, like around 60,000?
60,000, yeah. I mean, you know, and it's the same, it's the same scenario that was done to us on our southern border. You had the governments of Panama through the Darien Gap all the way up into Mexico. Venezuela. But then Israel are complicit with and working with the NGOs to literally create an invasion chain of people from all over the world crossing our southern border. That is what they did for four years under Biden. So that's just a miniature snapshot what's going on in Guetta, Spain. Now you're hearing a lot of talk. This is again this. this decolonization, anti-white, anti-Western Europe theology, where they're saying, well, you know, Quetta back in, you know, a thousand years ago, actually did belong to Morocco. You know, this actually doesn't belong to Spain. I mean, using that, I mean, it's insane, but the people are being, people are buying off on this. Of course they are, because they won, yes, I know. Yeah, I mean, where does it end? Oh, well, we need to dissolve the Treaty of Hidalgo, Guadalupe, and give back Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and California. We need to just give it back to Mexico, because that is the end state of this theology that they have. I mean, it's insane. And there's people here in Tucson that would probably like that. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, I, they're probably going to the U of A and they're probably part of the CPUSA club, I'm sure, you know, even if, just to bring that full circle. Jack, we've got to take a break. I'm going to ask you to stay over. I think this, we have to educate. And there needs to be, somebody needs to explain. maybe in a film, maybe with emotion, how this hurts the real vision of this country. And the only thing I can thank the Democrat socialists for doing is they are not holding back. And, you know, we have an election tomorrow in Michigan and I think in one other place. I can't remember. There's two states that have elections tomorrow where they, their Democrat socialists are running, and we will see if that's really... Well, they see this as their moment. That's why there's such a huge push now. They see this as their moment to actually paradigm shift the country into communism. Well, we're going to see what happens. We have to take a break. You are listening to Win Tucson on 1030, the voice your trusted local news and talk. This is a show for smart people because you guys are the best. And we'll be back right after this on Wynn-Tusan. I'm Kathleen Wynn with Jack Donna.
Free bird, welcome back. We need to make sure all the birds stay free in the United States. Right, Jack? That's right. Oh, and we are in election season, and never has this been so critical. And I think you're right about, we're talking to Master Sergeant Jack Donna. He lives in Sierra Vista at the border. He saw firsthand. We had wide open borders. And we are still doing cleanup in IL3, if you will, from the Biden administration. And this last week with Dr. Anthony Fauci. You said something last segment about how they're just coming out in this moment in time with no restraints. They're saying the quiet part out loud. They are letting us know what they stand for, and we should believe everything that they say. And what they're saying will not lead to financial freedom. It will not lead to freedom of speech. It will lead to zero freedoms. Is that an overstatement? No, that's exactly right. And again, you know, to, you know, you know, yeah. you know, pack onto what you're saying in regards to, you know, they see this as their moment. Absolutely. And what is the reason why they see this as their moment? Well, for many decades now, the leaders in the, you know, Democrat Party basically in their eternal, you know, I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this, in their eternal quest for power, they basically, said to themselves that we can use this. We can, we can, but we can keep these people in check. Well, those people 20 years ago, and I'm talking about people like Nancy Pelosi and, and, you know, you can, you can, you can name these, these people, you know, Jim Clyburn. These people are very old now. They're in their 80s now and they're realizing that this, this beast, I think Victor David Hansen, you know, who is infinitely much wiser than I am and more erudite, he wrote about this recently that basically the monster that the Democrat Party, when it was a foundling, that they basically fed and they nurtured and everything, now it's devouring them. And, you know, they have no choice but to bow the need to it. I mean, you look at, you look at Chuck Schumer, who happens to be Jewish. I mean, bowing the knee to these, these candidates with the Democratic Socialist. I don't know how they're, see, they're losing their mind. But they're losing. So the Democrat Party.
And think about this, and their hatred for the conservatives in Trump and mostly Trump. They are willing to sacrifice this country. Yes. So that they don't have to, so they are bowing to the knee. This is, think back when Nancy Pelosi schooled Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Think back. Yes. And that was exactly. And now Nancy Pelosi said, hey, not on my watch. I did my job. And that was their warning. That was their warning signal. I mean, what was the guy that was there was Foley. I believe that was his name. Congressman Foley. He'd been there for 30 years. And, you know, here comes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, you know, a bartender, you know, of Hispanic descent. You know, she's Puerto Rican and, you know, well educated, but a bartender. And on a lark, pretty much actually on a lark, she ran for his seat. He dialed it in. He phoned it in. He never debated her. He never campaigned. Didn't even put up any signs. And she won. And, you know, he basically quietly went away. But that was their warning signal right there that, you know, hey, we better get a handle on this because we're going to lose our party. How long has Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez been now in government almost going on like 10 years now, right? Close to it. I mean, you know, that's a long, that's, that's a while now. And, you know, the, the, the Democrat party has, has decided in their quest for power to, to, to join with these people, you know, along with the, the, the Islamic, the, the radical Islamics that, that are rabidly anti-Jewish, people like, you know, Zohran Mamdani Zohran Mamdani. And, you know, that's that's the intersection of power that they were wrongly seeking, which is basically we can use these. Muslim Islamic candidates and we can use these Democratic Socialists of America, but we'll keep them on a leash. Right. I got news. I get news to them. These things are not, they are not leash friendly. They're not a leash no more, no. They're not leash friendly, yes. They're wild. Is this kind of like Jumanji, the movie? Yeah. Yes, I mean, the very thing that, the very thing that they thought they could control. and they could harness for power is now saying, okay, yeah, thank you, but we're not going to be under the leash anymore. And so that, you know, this is, this is, this is, it's, it is a dangerous movement. It is a dangerous movement. And, you know, I, I, I would like to take a moment, you know, to your listening audience.
Take a look at what's going on in Nicaragua. So Nicaragua is a classic example of the end state of communism. When my father was there, it started under the dictatorship of the Somoza family. And then he was overthrown. His form of totalitarianism was overthrown. And the Sandinistas, you know, came into power. All right? Where are we at now in Nicaragua? Well, they have declared Daniel Ortega and his ruling time. He's declared that he is the president. His wife's going to be the vice president. There will no longer be any more elections that the state of Nicaragua now is a secular state. There will be no religion. He's actually declared that. There will be no religion. Churches are being burned down there. Priests are being hunted down. A lot of the priests have fled, led the nation. That is the end state. Now, people are listening to me and they're saying, nah, that could never happen here. The people, my dad told me this. He said, the people. You know, wealthy and affluent people and middle class people in Nicaragua in the 1930s were saying the same exact thing. It couldn't happen here. No way this is going to happen. And it did. And it happened real fast. It wasn't like years. It was a matter of weeks where the nation toppled. It just toppled. And, you know, people need to wake up. and realize that we are on dangerous ground. These people are winning primary after primary after primary. You know, and, you know, some, some, I see some in the media, you know, pundits and prognosticators are saying, oh, they'll never make it past the general. Well, I wouldn't, I wouldn't be too sure of that because, you know, Foley in New York thought the same thing about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Yes. And he's now retired in cooling his heels. up there in Binghamton or wherever he lives in New York. Well, look, and look at New York. New York State is, and ironically, what you haven't seen yet is you've got billionaires leaving in droves, right? So what, so you don't see the impact of that because, you know, you pay taxes and arrears. So. Yeah, but that's the point. That's the point. That's the point. That's the point. The billionaires can leave. But guess what? The average person can't. People with money, the people with money and everything. Guess what? You can leave. Eventually, there will be no place for you to go. Thank you. Yes. They will follow you once they take New York.
Then they'll move on New Jersey. Then they'll move on Pennsylvania. You can keep fleeing. You can allow, I will move. Well, we just have to look at Seattle, Oregon, California, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico. I hate to tell you, you're surrounded Arizona. And this is why we have to draw a line in the sand. It is so, and oh, by the way, the Democrat Socialists are alive and well in Tucson, Arizona. They have a headquarters here. This is not. Oh, absolutely. They are out in full force. There are posters, you know, asking you to join the movement. Except if you want more of what you've got that's not functional in Pima County or in Tucson, you're going to get triple that. And then they'll want more money. And there's a money grab going on right now with 425. They want a half billion dollars. And we have to vote that down. So, Jack, we've got to take a break. They come really quickly because we're having so much fun. All right, you're listening to 1030 The Voice, your trusted local news and talk. I have posted the article on my personal page so that people can see it, but please reshare it because it's worth reading. It'll give you more of what we're talking about. We can't get it all in an hour, believe it or not. So this is Wynn-Tusan. I'm Kathleen Wynn, and we'll be back right after this brief commercial break. I'm going to love these ads. This is great. And Mike and Becky have, and I even heard the story of when they first got together. So God bless. You're going to be entertained by Perfection AutoWorks ads. And isn't that a great thing? Okay. I need to laugh first thing Monday morning because what we're talking about is so serious and significant. I want to get back, Jack, to the, I'm talking to Jack Donna, a retired master sergeant. And Jack, you know, when the borders got open under the Biden administration, we worried about terrorist cells and everything else. This is. They're getting our own, what they're doing by the ideology that they're instilling in our country is they're taking us over from within. They don't even need to fire a shot. Our own people are doing this to us, our own politicians. And the Democrat Party needs to understand that if you're a Democrat that's a true, you know, traditional Democrat. This is not your party anymore. You have been co-opted, corrupted, and you just need to listen to some of the people. In Pima County, we have Adelaide Grahalva, who is fighting for illegal immigrants, is fighting against ICE, made up a story. She's with the DSA. Uh, Joanne Mendoza, who's running against Congressman Siskamani, same, same song sheet. Rahina Romero, uh, we have a shooting and her first thing is to try to take your guns away. Nine people, nine people, nine innocent people were shot and you know what stopped it? A police officer with a gun, an underfunded department.
And you have the audacity as the mayor of Tucson to say that I'm coming for your guns. Get out of the way. Just do not. This is, this is, this is, go ahead, please. This is all, this is all part of the Marxist thing. You know, I, I, I covered this in my video interview a year or so ago with General Flynn. You know, when he asked me about this, one of the very first things that they do, and this is the reason why they keep pushing this is gun control. And the reason why, you can, I mean, don't take my work for it. And they're using Gabby Giffords as a prop. How despicable. Because Gabby, before she got shot, was a very much pro-gun person. This is what just, like, and I knew, you know, she was pro-military, pro-gun. She would have never tolerated this. So it's such a misuse of a human being. It's despicable. You know, I'm a case in point. You know, my father said one of the first things that they did was they confiscated private weapons in Nicaragua. I mean, you know, you look at what's going on right now in Quetta, Spain. The people are locked. I mean, I've seen the videos. I've seen the reporting. The people are locked in their homes. And they are literally saying, you know, my Spanish is rough, but I can understand it. They're literally saying, we have no way to defend ourselves. We have no firearms. We have nothing. There's no police. There's no, there's no military here. And they have roving bands of people marauding and destroying their city, using their fountains as toilets, breaking in. Their grocery stores have been looted. This is what happens. This is the reason why they go after. the guns because they go after the guns, they create a situation where there's a crisis and then they take advantage of the crisis, which is what they do. This is the playbook that they do at every time. That's the reason why they want to go after guns because if they can disarm you, then you are powerless against them at the very, very base level. And what I mean by the very, very base level, if you look at the Bolshevik revolution, What they did was they went the Bolsheviks. They went house to house and they said, oh, you've got a four-bedroom house and there's only two people living here. Well, we're going to put six people in here and you're going to feed them. And they do it at the point of a gun. I mean, this is why they don't want private citizens to have guns. Because if you cannot defend yourself, then you are a slave to the state. You are powerless against them. That is essentially the reason why our founding fathers put the Second Amendment in. But, you know, Kathleen, I wanted to talk about the third portion. And this is very critical. And we've only got about eight minutes left. So just so you're aware. Yeah. Yeah. This is, this is the, you know, the thing that the third leg of what my dad said in regards to communism, popularly a nation. And the third thing is basically you need good people to do nothing. And they do nothing out of three things.
One, out of fear, I don't want to get involved. I don't want to say anything or they're going to come after me. Or two, there's a sense of hopelessness. What's the use in getting involved? What's the use in voting? They steal the elections. There's fraud and everything. So they send, but the third one, the third part of the third, which is most telling is you have the people in power. Okay. And they may not mean necessarily elected officials. They may, they may be prominent citizens, lawyers, doctors, whatever, living in gated communities, okay, that are indifferent to it. It's not affecting me. It's not affecting my wealth. My portfolio is doing just great. My kids are going to Kay Ivey League schools. I'm living larger, and this does not affect me, so I'm not worried about it. My message to those people is this. You will not be able to escape this. You only think that your private security and your private gated communities will protect you. It won't. When this communism thing sweeps across the nation and engulfs a nation, it will consume you too. It will touch you also. There is no place that you can go, you can flee to. So this goes back to your earlier point. You've got all these millionaires and billionaires fleeing New York City. That's not the solution. That is not the solution. Should stay in flight. Yes, they must stay and fight against this. They must, they must, you know, use their influence and use their power and use their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they're, okay, to fight back against this ideology. Because, okay, I'm just going to leave. They leave, and then you have, you leave behind the people who are defenseless, you know, who don't ascribe to this, and they get absolutely crushed. Okay, but now you move to Florida. Well, guess what? You know, if this thing sweeps across the nation... there's no place left in the world to go. Where are you going to go? Isle of Man? What are you going to hang out in? I love man. Just one guy. His name's Al. As opposed to Isle of Man. I understand what you're saying, though. Yeah. That's a very important point that people need to understand. And I'm speaking to those people that, you know, that believe wrongly that, you know, these are the unwashed masses. Oh, they always act up every 20, 30 years. No, this is different. This is different. And you need to pay attention to this because it will engulf you. It will. You will not be able to escape it. So my dad did. My father was able to escape it. But.
You know, this ideology at it, when it comes down to its end state, you suffer the fate of, you know, look at my uncle. My uncle, you know, he lost his life in fighting them in North Korea, you know, in 1950. You know, I mean, they are, they have no mercy. They will, they will brutalize you. They will, you know, they will take everything that you have. And they all do it in the name of. the ideology in the name of justice, in the name of the state. And, you know, so, you know, This is a very, very important topic. I'm glad you're covering it, Kathleen. Well, I think when we see who wins, and I'm almost, this is going to sound crazy to people. I'm almost thinking that the Democrat Socialists should win. I know we don't want them to have a chance in the general election, but I think that's what's going to happen in two of these states. And I know the candidates, the Republican candidates are running. And gosh, dang it. I know for sure Michigan is one of the places. And I wish I could remember. Rogers is, you know, what's his name Rogers is, Mike Rogers. Mike Rogers. Yeah, is running against. You know, I have my reservations about him. I think they could have picked somebody stronger. But, you know, yeah, he's, he'll probably be up against, uh, uh, Syed. I mean, I mean, everything I've seen, I think Saeed is going to actually win that primary. As terrifying as that is. Yeah. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Well, and you know, you think about, you know, it's socialist chic. They're making it chic and Medicare for all. That means everybody. That means every illegal, every, people don't, they say these words and it sounds good for all, for all. It's not their money. It's not their resource. Huh? Go ahead. They're playing on people's emotions. You're suffering. You're hurting. You don't have this. You don't have this. I'm going to give you free health care. I'm going to, you're going to get free education. All of your school debt is going to be wiped away. You know, this is all. This is not rational thinking. It is not. And if anybody who's ever taking a moment, you know, you get the Cliff Nose version if you don't want to read the book, but Das Kapital, that was written by Carl Marx, if you read it, it is basically an ideology of vengeance, revenge, revenge. It's an evil ideology. And it's end state. is basically what you see in these communist countries.
North Korea and, you know, and China, you know, we haven't even touched on the, you know, the Chinese Communist Party. Well, we do every Wednesday. We talk about China. Every Wednesday, China Watch Wednesday, just so you know, I've been doing that for three years, way ahead of all this gobbly gook that we're in right now. China Watch. I like that. China Watch Wednesday. Listen. And, you know, and Steve Bannon listens. I love it. You know, he texts, I get occasionally, and his brother Chris also, I hear from him more. But we, keeping people aware is important. And if you, and we, you know, you get to a certain age and you're retired and you're kind of like you threw, you left it all on the field. But I have children and grandchildren. And for me not to hear and see what I'm seeing and hearing and I'm involved. um this is i figured no accidents uh this is not a happy coincidence uh this is a time to uh do i've got this resource use the resource to inform to educate and you know be that source so that people listen and hopefully take action. And I'm very proud to say that I just went to a meeting and we got very little time left. So I went to a meeting over the weekend. Tucson turned out way above the state average for voting. Now what that tells you is no one turned out to vote in the primary, but we did hear. And I'm proud of that. And we worked hard and it's a team of people, which I mentioned earlier, Turning Point. American majority. We have a lot of people working together because Tucson is at stake right now. We can save her, save this community, and we're going to do it by making people smart. Jack, I mean, our young people are thirsty for leadership, and that's what you've provided in Pima. And so, you know, these people that are listening and they're sitting on the sidelines, you know, take Kathleen's example. get off the bench and get involved i love it we got to go thank you jack so much i'll be back all right you are listening to 1030 the voice your trusted local news and talk tomorrow we're going to talk about america first legal uh filing a lawsuit against Adrian Fontes one of my favorite things to do uh don't go well go wherever you have to go it's hot uh we'll be back tomorrow here on 1030 the voice have a great day everybody
