Second hour of play and Bach kicks off right now, and we know that Hillary Clinton is testifying right now. Up on Capitol Hill about Epstein stuff. And we're going to bring you this as it goes, as it moves forward. But something strange just happened, play. We're just bringing people to breaking news on this. An advisor to Hillary Clinton said the House Oversight Committee's deposition had to be stopped because of an unauthorized photo being shared on social media. Play 33. This just happened. The hearing just went off the record for a moment because it seemed that some of you may have seen that there were some photographs shared on social media which is against chamber rules that were read at the top of the meeting so the hearing has been paused briefly while they figure out where the photo came from and why possibly members of Congress are violating now. I'll actually see that. Can you explain what the picture is? If you look on your Twitter feed, you know who came from? He came from Betty Johnson. He said Lauren Bowers gave it. Yeah. Look at Benny Johnson's feet. Uh-oh. Betty Johnson shared a naughty photo? What happened here? I didn't even know this was a thing. I didn't know this was a, there was some rule about it. Anyway, they paused the hearing because someone gave Benny Johnson a photo to share on social media and he shared it. I don't know. I guess, team, take a look. What did Benny share? What is this photo that could pause the hearing? I think it's just a photo of the hearing. Of the hearing? That's it. Because they specifically are doing it without cameras present. So I presume that that was negotiated.

Because they don't want the footage of Hillary Clinton to be used. I don't know if they're going to do a public hearing or not. Tomorrow is Bill Clinton. But I'm guessing somebody snapped a photo of it. It got shared. And then it ended up on social media. And they've had to stop the hearing as a result. But. What a circus. Oh, yeah, okay. So he shared a photo. It is, by the way, we know the team just pulled it. We know it's just a photo of Hillary. But can I just point out, it's a photo of Hillary at like a random conference. You can tell me she just got out. This is like a committee meeting of mean old ladies who have nothing else to do in Zurich or something. Like you have no idea. There's no. There's nothing about this photo that's particularly interesting other than apparently you're not allowed to take photos in the hearing. So that's all. Yeah. And look. Far be it for me to defend Hillary Clinton. Unless they have photos of her on the plane or photos of her with Epstein, it seems like she basically is showing up because Bill Clinton had a relationship with Epstein and she, like she has been doing for the last 40-some-odd years, is going to be answering questions about what Bill Clinton did. And she may not. May not have a lot of knowledge about some of the things that Bill Clinton did. So it doesn't seem to me like there is much here. And what I will say is, There were two things that Democrats seemed to be focused on at the State of the Union. If you looked at what their lapels showed and everything else. One was, we talked about it, the anti-ice pens that people like Rashida Tlaib were wearing that had an expletive followed by ICE very succinct there. The other one was Democrats have really decided to make this Epstein release. Their primary method of attacking Trump. And Buck, this is starting to have, and by the way, I know all the Epstein people out there will flood it in, but the way that they are sharing these stories, it's starting to feel like the steel dossier to me. And let me explain what I mean by that. And you can speak to this in much more detail because of your background with the CIA. But you basically have now completely unverified allegations which seem to have no substance or validity at all behind them that are now front page of the New York Times today was, oh, there's an accusation against Trump made by what appears to be a crazy person that did not come out until 2019 and appears to have no basis in reality at all. It feels both like the Steele dossier and the Brett Kavanaugh accusations.

where the media, it didn't matter how crazy the people were, they treated these accusations all as legitimate. So they seem to have decided this is their angle to go after Trump in second term. I also think there's a little bit of like taking a step back and just away from Hillary Clinton talking about Epstein. Apparently she didn't really know Epstein, but they're asking her about. this whole thing honestly um we're we're all for getting the answers and everything else but i'm also not for not getting the answers as in like nothing nothing is going to come out of this hearing just so you and just so we're clear just like i told you nothing was going to come out of the jfk files yes it did pocket no it didn't okay nothing is going to come out of this hearing with hillary clinton it's just putting hillary through it hey look you could say putting hillary through it because she would do this to us whatever if that's that's one thing But if you're waiting for the big Epstein revelation from Hillary Clinton, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. That's not going to happen. But here's what I do see happening. And this actually goes to the state of the union and the state of the Democrats right now. I think they don't know really what to do in a post-Trump era, and they're starting to realize that it is coming. obviously not before the midterms. They're going to run against Trump as much as they can. They're going to use the ice stuff, and they're going to talk about this. But when they're flailing at Trump with Epstein, for one, it shows that they've got nothing else. They have nothing of any real substance to hit Donald Trump with. And I know we're all supposed to sit around and think about... like ICE in Minneapolis for the rest of our lives. No, there's other things and more important things that are happening elsewhere and people have moved on largely. So that's one part of it. I think they don't really know how to position themselves as a party right now at all. I mean, here's CNN talking about Trump after that state of the union clay, and they have to say that based on the data they're able to pull together, Trump was looking great after that state of the union. Play five. Look at the growth President Trump made over the speech. So pre-speech, it was 54% of speech watchers said his policies will move the U.S. in the right direction. After the speech, that number goes up 10 percentage points. So Donald Trump made some progress with people watching the speech from their pre-speech expectations to what they saw in the speech itself. And that's 64% number. pretty much in range across all of his state of the union addresses in his first term last year, the joint session. That's about where we've seen. Roughly two thirds have walked away from his speech as thinking he's going to move it in the right direction. Look, we played that in the first hour as well, Buck. And I think it's the most important takeaway from the reality of what happened in that speech. Trump won over viewers. And I think it goes into what you're raising is, look. 2026 is going to be the last opportunity for Democrats to run against Trump. And then they have to actually start to argue for things that they believe in. I mentioned that mortgages dropped under 6%. Healthcare costs are going up. That's largely a function of Democrats having screwed up on health care with Obama. Obamacare.

I can't think of a single thing because it really, it was the Democrat Party of the, let's just look at the Democrat Party of the Obama era for a second and how they position themselves, not what they were and not what they did, how they positioned themselves. First of all, Obama came in as a traditional marriage candidate, which is really interesting, right? He was like, he was like, no gay marriage, can't do that. That was Obama. Just to be clear. Ran against it. Right, right. So just start with that. Okay, now we got Joe Biden's White House putting out, yeah, trans the 12 year olds. Why not? That's what the medicine says. We all know they went completely insane. But they were the health care party. that was really their thing. Oh, because look, that's a thing that affects everyone. Everyone gets scared. Everybody wants to know, and it's a basic human thing that when they get sick, they're going to have the care they need. I get that, right? We're in a country now where the problem, like the same way that people, you know, when you're hungry, you want there to be food. We're actually in a country where poor people, the problem is that too much food of low quality that gives them health problems because people get too fat. So no one's actually starving to death. People are malnourished. People have, you know, have different kinds of issues with food. So people want to have health care, and I get that. And Democrats were saying, we're going to make sure you have it, and they screwed the whole thing up. They've screwed the whole thing up. They've made it worse. In every respect, all the health care stuff has gotten worse that Democrats touched, the Democrats were involved in. So that, I think. That, I think, is a hole that they can't fill. Also, Clay, they used to be, we're in agreement with Republicans about securing the border. We just want to do it differently. Now everybody knows that's a lie because they didn't want, you know, they kicked the border wide open. Trump secured it and they're still complaining about it, right? So your point about 60-40 issue? I mean, you just have to be ignorant that they have to get people to believe lies for that to be the case. They have to get people to not understand that health care premiums are up 150 to 200 percent over the last decade because of Obamacare. And so that's where I wonder. Right now, the only thing that unites the Democrat Party is they hate Trump. And the base of the Democrat Party hates Trump desperately, even in the face of pretty good results coming in now. And the economy is going to be better, I think. So what do they actually stand for? I think they're in a tough spot. I don't see very many things that they stand for that have majority public approval. And at some point, that's going to blow up in their face and even more significantly than I think what happened in 24. You're concerned that we're supporting Trump too much and that's going to hurt Republicans. Yeah, Buck, I really like the concept of that title with your book. But we have to. Joining us now, the chairman of the FCC, Brendan Carr, came on last week, I believe, to talk about the late-night TV battle and the fact. I think... You saw that. We'll start there because the primary is Tuesday. It feels to me like that was a clear attempt to help James Talarico in the battle against Jasmine Crockett and that the media was not smart enough to see what was going on in the way that that played out. And I think it's become even clearer sense because... uh tall rico raised 2.4 million dollars um and uh and the youtube video got watched way more than if he had just been a guest nobody would have cared nobody would have noticed and unless i'm wrong Jasmine Crockett still hasn't gotten an invite uh yet to appear on the Stephen Colbert

Yeah, look, I think you nailed it. Great to be with you again. This was a really interesting story where one Democrat candidate tried to create a hoax to get clicks and views and money over another Democrat candidate in the primary. And so much of their traditional legacy media just played right into it. They're more than happy to do it. What's interesting, though, is there's now reporting that a number of TV stations in Texas... not the CBS ones, but actually Disney-affiliated ones, have filed equal-time notices with the FCC, saying that because of Tau-Riko's appearance on The View, which happened a couple weeks ago, they're offering the opportunity for any other legally qualified candidate, including the Jasmine Crockett campaign, to reach out and get comparable time and placement. So we'll see if that happens, but it's an interesting development that you've got Texas TV station saying or appearing to say that, yeah, the View is not bona fide news programming. Well, and I want to build on that for a second, because I know you're going to talk about a new story that we're super fascinated about here too, but... The idea, we've got a super competitive Texas primary. We started talking about that on Tuesday, and we will soon have a nominee on the Republican side, Democrat side. As these primaries play out, would it be your suggestion, contention under equal time based on the way we have seen these late night shows rig, super left-wing guests without offering an opportunity for the other side, that post-primary, the equal time doctrine. could be in play for if you're going to have on a Senate candidate, let's say from Texas, who's the Democrat nominee, to me it's even more incumbent than that you should offer equal time to the Republican candidate. Because I think what we'll see is some of these shows, Stephen Colbert and Kimmel certainly, where they have a lot of these guys on for the midterms on the Democrat side and don't give any opportunities at all to Republicans. I think that's exactly what we could see happen here. So remember, Congress passed this law. It wasn't me. It was Congress itself. And Congress was worried. They did not want media gatekeepers to be able to put their thumb on the scale for one candidate or one political party. What they wanted was for individual voters to be able to make their own mind up. And so if you're not a bona fide news program and you have a legally qualified candidate on, then you have to offer comparable time and placement to all others. powers individuals. It's not a censorship provision. It doesn't stop you from having anybody on. And in fact, you don't even have to have the other legally qualified candidate on. If Stephen Colbert has an issue with Jasmine Crockett, he doesn't have to interview her. But the TV stations do have to give her another legally qualified candidates equal time. So the FCC's been clear. We're going to start insisting on this. And there's... programs out there like The View, like the Late Show, that simply have not made the case to the FCC at this point that they qualify as a bona fide news program. Again, the key there is, under the FCC's own test, are you motivated by partisan political motivations, or are you really more of a straight news program that asks, you know, legitimate, hard-hitting questions?

Commissioner, it's Buck. Thanks for being here with us. I have a question that certainly falls under your area, but it's a little bit of a different direction. It has to do with spectrum policy and expansion of the spectrum out there. I mean, essentially, with things like satellite-to-device connectivity, you know, Elon Musk's got all these SpaceX satellites up there now, and people are able to get their Internet. directly from satellites this is increasingly common even something that we talk about in my little community here in florida as as an option what role does the fcc play in streamlining assisting making sure that as these technologies become more available basically Free, I'm not free, but, you know, super fast, super reliable internet, everywhere, anywhere, any time is a reality because I feel like we're getting closer to that technologically. The regulations obviously need to be kept up to that. This is one area in particular where I'm really excited about what President Trump is accomplishing. You may recall back in the Biden years, Congress passed this $42 billion program to connect millions of Americans to the Internet, and not a single shovels worth of dirt was turned, not a single home was connected. President Trump has come in and fundamentally transformed that program. We're going to start to see shovels in the ground very quickly here. At the same time, as you noted, Trump has been clear that we're going to get the airways out there. to power this new generation of low-worth orbit satellites. Starlink has this. Amazon's coming online with theirs. And so we're heading in a great direction right now in terms of more spectrum, increased connectivity, real competition. It's a good time to be a consumer. Prices right now are already down significantly year over year because we're getting more spectrum out there and more competition. Okay, let's go into something that's got me super fired up. Whatever you think about me, I'm in the 99th percentile for sports viewing. I watch sports all the time. I know you're a big sports fan too. And it's not moving in a good direction. Put simply, everybody out there who's listening to us right now, in 2010, it was easier it feels like, to watch your favorite team than it is in 2026. And the cost to do so has been skyrocketing. The number of streaming services, channels, everything else out there continues to grow. The consumer is paying more and getting less. That seems like a bad combination. What are you trying to do now as it pertains to sports rights and looking into this increased cost and not increased ability to consume product? Well, for decades, Americans love to sit down, turn on the TV, and just quickly find the game they wanted to watch. And in recent years, it's gotten a lot more...

complicated. People are having to sign up for bespoke streaming services. They can't find the game they want to watch. They're having to sign up for trials of one platform just to get a playoff game, and they've got to remember to cancel it down the road. And to your point, a lot of them are paying more out of pocket. And that's a problem. It's a real frustration. There's a role for the FCC here, too, though, because as sports are broadcast over the air on TV, that helps drive. advertiser to local broadcasters and that's what ends up funding local news and local reporting so we're exploring this relationship between sports and broadcasts because a lot of people don't know this but many years ago congress passed the law the sports broadcasting act that created antitrust exemptions for the sports leagues and that law was passed when all of the games if you weren't there in person We're broadcast for free over the year. And so as more and more games start to go behind paywalls, it starts to tug its under the underpinnings of that sports broadcasting act. I think people are right to start to ask questions of, do we have the right regulatory framework right now? Okay, this is very specific, and I don't know how much attention you're paying to this, but 2029, the NFL can opt out of his existing contracts. NFL is the biggest sports league in America, clearly in terms of audience. Right now, the games air over the air, free, in quotation marks, but on CBS, NBC, and Fox, right? So for a lot of people out there, they watch their favorite local team on CBS, NBC, and Fox. There is some talk that the NFL may decide to leave CBS, NBC, and Fox. Do you believe the FCC has an interest in the NFL airing on CBS, NBC, and Fox? Would the NFL, if they just pulled out and said, we're no longer going to air on those networks? I don't know, to your point, that broadcast television even can exist as a viable business given how much money they make. an audience, they grow off of the NFL. Are you paying attention to that? Is there a role given those games on CBS, NBC, and Fox? Yeah, this is one of the most significant features of broadcast TV right now. So much that local news and local reporting works and there's funding for it because of that great relationship between broadcasters and the NFL, as that contract comes due, if too many of those games start to go behind a paywall, it's a problem on many fronts. I think it's a problem for local news and for broadcasters. I think it's a problem for consumers who will, I think, continue to be... frustrated with an inability to find the games. And again, it starts to undermine some of the reasons why we have that sports broadcasting act. There's some good reasons that come from this as well. There are more games that are available now. So there is some upside. But there's a real consumer frustration. So I hope that the NFL ultimately finds the right balance where we still get these free-over-the-air games that helps grow the game. It brings additional audience to it. I just don't think it's a great thing if we see a critical mass start to go behind all sorts of different paywalls.

Yeah, because, I mean, as a sports fan, if suddenly CBS, NBC, and Fox don't have games, then you're demanding effectively that everybody go subscribe, and it's not better for the consumer, I wouldn't think. So there's a role in theory because of where those games are for the FCC, and you're working through on that angle. Yeah, that's exactly right. We're working at all. I mean, the very first sports game ever to be broadcast went back, I think, to the 1939 World's Fair in New York. It was a college baseball game, a barn burner that was won two to one in ten innings. And Americans have just had so much fun over the years, sitting down, grabbing a drink, bowl of chips, watching the game. And it's just become a frustrating experience. There's so much in our lives right now that's frustrating that's frustrating that drives Americans apart. I do want to see us continue to have games on the air. Lots of different Americans are being brought together. I think it's been a great beneficial relationship for sports leagues, for broadcasters, but really for the American people. No doubt. Some news for you, something that went mega viral. And we talked about on the program, police officers being pelted by bystanders. during this big snowstorm in New York City. They shared photos of the individuals that they were seeking to arrest. This morning, according to the NYPD, they arrested a man named Guzman Kulibali. That's my best guess, 27 years old. So they tried to say, oh, these were just kids, 27-year-old for assaulting officers. He was one of the guys who had one of the big, it wasn't even a snowball. It was like an ice boulder almost. And we set on the program, Hey, or I said, I would bet a ton of money that whoever these guys were, that they had criminal charges. This wasn't a just, you know, I love when you make a long, long shot call. This was a, this was a 10 to 1 in your favor, buddy. Yeah. So the guy was arrested. And what do you think? He had, of course, a previous arrest record. Less than three weeks ago, he was arrested for attempted robbery on the transit system. Again, if you are the kind of person to see a police officer and think, I want to pelt these officers with snowballs and continue to do so. then you are the kind of person who likely has engaged in criminal behavior in the past. But again, NYPD has officially arrested this guy. Now, we'll see how soon Zohran Mamdani lets him out and whether there is any actual process here. But again, 27, they tried to say, we played this cut. Mayor Zohran Mamdani said, oh, these are just little kids in a snowball fight. 27-year-old who had been arrested for armed robbery probably shouldn't have been out on the street anyway. And he has now been arrested. So I hope Zohran Mamdani will speak out and say,

You know, I didn't handle this as well as I could have, but I doubt that he will. There are reports, however, that Zohran Mamdani is meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office today. So there is a possibility that he could be asked about this arrest because I would imagine, Buck, that the president and Zohran Mamdani might have another one of those joint press conferences reports that the two of them are going to work on trying to build more housing. in New York City, which would theoretically bring down the overall cost of rent and other aspects associated with residential cost there. So that news is out there as we get ready to go into the third hour here. It is astronomical. Yes. Astronomical. And what people say is they go, oh, well, well, the rents are so high, it's a market. The rents are high because they're supply and demand and people want to live in these places. Yeah, and they have such zoning restrictions that they will not allow additional housing to be created. So they have artificial scarcity in demand. That's right. It's just supply demand. I mean, we're not reinventing the wheel here. And remember when they criticized JD Vance, when he said, hey, you know, if we had fewer illegal immigrants, it would mean costs would come down for overall rent. Guess what?
